Kareena will play a tomboy in Golmaal 3
He wanted her to be part of the gang of boys comprising Ajay Devgn, Arshad Warsi, Tusshar Kapoor, Kunal Khemu and Shreyas Talpade. Kareena Kapoor will be playing a tomboy character for the first time on Golmaal 3, being directed by Rohit Shetty.
It is learnt that the director was writing the story, he decided to give Kareena's typically glamorous image a break in the film and offer her an unusual part. He didn't want her to do the glam doll act once again.
He wanted her to be part of the gang of boys comprising Ajay Devgn, Arshad Warsi, Tusshar Kapoor, Kunal Khemu and Shreyas Talpade. The source reveals, "Kareena will sport casual wear in the film.
No designer dresses, shoes and bags for her. She will play a badass who spouts abusive tapori language and rides around on a bike.
She will be seen doing dadagiri like boys in gangs." Bebo admits, "My look in Golmaal 3 is non-glamorous.
It's young and grunge and keeping the weather and look of Goa in mind. I play a tomboy but with a feminine touch.
Though I will be using tapori language it won't be too abusive or vulgar. It will be in keeping with my persona.
" Shetty adds, "I wanted to give Kareena a new image in Golmaal 3. She's 'one of the boys' in the film, and will sport minimal make-up.
She is talking with Manish Malhotra and they will come up with the right look for her part. I have tried not to make her use too much foul language or abusive lingo.
Her whole look and hair will be undergoing a thorough change. Her character in the film is not that rich.
We are all looking forward to teaching Bebo some exciting language. She's already become one goonda now!" The source reveals, "Kareena will sport casual wear in the film.
No designer dresses, shoes and bags for her. She will play a badass who spouts abusive tapori language and rides around on a bike.
She will be seen doing dadagiri like boys in gangs." Bebo admits, "My look in Golmaal 3 is non-glamorous.

Azim looks up to Salman, SRK and Aamir Khan
To make his character in "Qasam Se Qasam Se" appear realistic, Azim frequented call centre offices to absorb the finer nuances of the people working there. "It was quite a relevation for me as an actor.
I witnessed not only people's mannerisms but also the activities they indulge in during the break hour. Looking into the mirror, some guys would be busy ruffling their hair and taking care of their looks, while some would busy binging.
And there would others catching up with family and friends over their cell phones. This has helped shaped my character in the film.
" Azim feels that all our veteran actors were keen observers and would translate that on screen. "Whether it were the legendary actors like Dilip Kumar or the late Raj Kapoor or Dev Anand , they were schools in themselves.
I am a great fan of Salman Khan , Shah Rukh Khan and Aamir Khan and look at them as a student who looks upon his guru. I am mastering the art of acting watching their films," he smiles

David Dhawan's son Rohit gets married on February 10, so immediately after our wedding Genelia and I will have to rush to Goa for that again. After that, will be my brother Dheeraj's wedding during the end of the month to Honey Bhagnani .
I have to be there for all the pre-wedding arrangements so going for our honeymoon this month seems impossible now."
(less)I never thought I'd be a desirable woman: Sameera Reddy
"My name in the list means a lot to me. As as a young girl, I never thought even in my wildest dreams that I would become a desirable woman.
I yearned for a perfect body as I was ugly duckling in school. But now that I have entered films, I believe that beauty is hidden in the imperfections of people and it all depends on how you use them.
That's my definition of desirable and I am glad to have made it to the list," says Sameera. The actor is basking in the success of her last Tamil release opposite Madhavan and has Padma Shri Priyadarshan's Tezz to look forward to.
Sameera has now decided that she will do a mix of performance-oriented and glamorous characters on screen, something that Simran and Jyothika did in Kollywood. So is the report true that Sameera wants to become the next Simran and Jyothika? "You cannot become another person.
I had said that I look up to both Simran and Jyothika, who had a mixed bag of roles- performance-oriented and cute characters. Both had their own fan following .
They are my role models and I want to have a beautiful lineup of characters like them," says the actor
(less)Sherlyn Chopra likes being unconventional
Be it politics, cinema, sports, business or any other arena, women across the globe including India are in great form mentally, physically and consciously to undertake greater responsibilities and tougher challenges that are often encountered on paths less travelled." Sherlyn is also happy that she has gone from being just a pin-up girl to an entrepreneur.
Says she, "The rapid metamorphosis in my case would not have been possible had the mindsets of the majority of the people in the Hindi film industry continued to be goverened by prejudices. I look upto entrepreneurs who command respect and attention for daring to think out of the box and act accordingly.
They do not have a herd mentality. What they have is unadulterated creativity which is set on fire by courage.
" Naming films like " The Dirty Picture ", " Erin Brokovich ", " No One Killed Jessica "," The Black Swan " as cinema that has changed the way we think, Sherlyn says, "Unconventionality is no longer a taboo. It is being applauded and celebrated by both the classes and the masses.
The pulse of the youth is racing towards liberalisation. And I'm truly loving it.
" Asked why she decided to give us photographs that resembled those of the " Jism 2 " campaign, the actor quips, "I have pushed the envelope by choosing to cover my nakedness with nothing but pure consciousness."

(less)Flash mob greets Imran at New York University
"I had a blast at NYU. Everyone was so enthusiastic, they put on a very polished, confident show, and the surprise flash mob at the end was perfectly executed.
My best wishes to all the students involved," Imran said in a statement. The students had been practising for the performance for over two weeks, ahead of Imran's visit to New York as part of the promotional tour.
"As the president of NYU Dillagi, a Bollywood dance team, I knew we had to have simpler steps that the general public would be able to do and we sent videos out to the public. I thought that the flash mob came out even better than expected since people kept joining the mob throughout the sequence and it definitely surprised those that did not know of it ahead of time," Mohit Chhatpar, coordinator of the flash mob, said.
"It was really fun to be doing a flash mob and having Imran among us was all the more fun. He was very sporting and interacted with the students.
We are excited about this movie as well and are glad he could come and be among us to talk about his movie," he added. The Dharma Productions' film, also starring Kareena Kapoor, is set to hit theatres Feb 10.

"It's been 20 years for that film. So, obviously now I will have to upgrade this story.
It will be the same realistic love story but with a modern theme," Suri told IANS. Aashiqui won critical accolades after its release at the time.
It also catapulted the careers of lead actors Rahul Roy and Anu Agarwal, who forayed into Bollywood with this film. Suri is also set to hunt for new faces for the sequel.
"I will cast fresh faces with a new boy and a new girl," said Mohit. While some are referring to Aashiqui 2 as a sequel, others are calling it a remake.
However, producer Mukesh Bhatt of Vishesh Films sets the record straight. "It is neither a sequel nor a remake.
It can be said as the musical series of Aashiqui ..
.a new generation is making this film," he said.

SHAMIANA presents That Girl In Yellow Boots
Director Anurag Kashyap with his cast during the screening of 'That Girl In Yellow Boots' The movie was first screened at the Venice Film Festival last year and since then it has received accolades in all international film festivals. On his expectations from the movie, Anurag said, “I am going with a blind eye for this movie and I am expecting the audiences to do the same.
We have been deliberately sitting on the movie for past one year because I wanted an international release for this film. I didn’t want Indian distributors to sell it as a sex Times Wellness http://www.
timeswellness.com movie because it is not one.
Only when Viacom 18 decided to become a part of it, we knew it was in the right hands.” After the screening there was a Q&A session with the director and the lead actors loaded with the questions of audiences Most of them wanted to know the various elements that the director used in the movie.
Anurag explained the nuances of being a filmmaker and how it’s not important to get in to the technicalities, but to go with the flow. On the other hand Kalki, who was also present (minus her yellow boots!), explained how she prepared herself for the character of Ruth (her character name in the movie).
“As I have co-written the story with Anurag, it was simpler for me to get into the character. Other than that, I prepared a playlist for the kind of songs that I thought Ruth will listen to.
It was mostly grunge and Muse type of songs. I would listen to them while shooting and I distanced myself from others to get into the character,” confesses Kalki.
Anurag Kashyap has been a part of SHAMIANA since its inception. When asked about his relationship with SHAMIANA, he claims, “SHAMIANA is like a family to me, I have been with them for the past 10 years and their first screening was of a play written by me.

(less)Cinema is a beautiful way of communication: Kalki Koechlin
com on her latest film, That Girl In Yellow Boots and husband, Anurag Kashyap Kalki Koechlin (Pic: Varun Vazir) That Girl in Yellow Boots is co-written by both Kalki and Anurag. This is Anurag’s first film to have a global release.
The film also stars Naseeruddin Shah in a pivotal role and releases on September 2, 2011. Was Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara a conscious effort to break from your image as an unconventional actress? No, it wasn’t.
I never consciously try to make an image for myself. I don’t want to have a forced image.
I want to be who I am and want that to be captured on camera candidly. ZNMD happened because Zoya (Akhtar) had liked my acting in Dev D and believed in me.
I agree, it’s a masala film but yet very relatable. I could imagine three boys going on a fun trip.
I am not bothered, if I am the heroine or how many lines I have. It’s about whether my character makes sense in the film.
My character in ZNMD was of an annoying girl who spoils the party. It was challenging and very different from my own personality.
How did you go about That Girl…? It was Anurag’s story and he narrated me the brief outline and asked me to write it. At first, I was very reluctant as the subject was intricate and he wanted a woman’s perspective on it.
When I began writing, the content came really easily. For instance, the story is based on a white-skinned girl, Ruth.
And I know what it’s to be one. The way people stare at you and the way guys assume you to be a flirt.
But then there were many aspects about which I had no idea and that’s when I would talk to Anurag. I spoke to some actors on this and did a lot of research.
The title of the film is peculiar. What’s your take on it? We should call it Peele joote waali ladki instead of That Girl In Yellow Boots.
(Chuckles) It is not a mass film and is releasing only in metros. We wanted a title that would stand out and match with our central character Ruth, who is an alien to the city of Mumbai and looks very odd which immediately makes you notice her boots.
What is the film about? It is about a young British citizen Ruth who comes to India in search of her father. The film begins with her already present in India for a year and is trying to renew her tourist visa.
She lives as an illegal immigrant and ends up doing odd jobs. The authorities don’t kick her out but take undue advantage of her.
The plot reveals how Ruth, in her desperate and stubborn search for her father, ends up losing herself. How different was it working again with Anurag? We were dating during the shoot of That Girl… and were able to understand each other much better.
He knew me better as an actor and could trust me more. I knew him better as a director and wasn’t shy to question him.
There was a lot more freedom. I could trust him while performing intimate scenes because I knew he wasn’t trying to do something cheap.
Was it difficult to perform intimate scenes in front of Anurag’s presence? I think Anurag had more trouble than me. (Giggles) Of course it’s very uncomfortable! My co-actor was more scared than me.
He was very scared to touch me but at the end of the day, it’s a part of our job. Do things become easy having Anurag on your side? The truth is Anurag casts me only when he feels I fit a particular role.
I am not a part of his Gangs of Wasseypur . I can never play a Bihari girl.
We have a mature, creative sensibility. On the other hand, there is a down side of being his wife.
People think I will only do certain kinds of films and a lot of commercial people don’t even think of approaching me. Have film festivals become a platform to test films before their release? Film festivals are important if you want to be taken seriously on a world platform.
A lot of Bollywood cinema works abroad mainly because we have such an amazing NRI population. We watch Hollywood films, but foreigners don’t watch our films.
Films from all over the world get under one roof with same human nature. Cinema is a beautiful way of communication.
Anurag recently made a comment that he won’t work with you again until it’s a light hearted film. Comment.
I would like to work with Anurag again. We have done two intense films together ( Dev D and That Girl… ) and it’s important that we work again in a different genre.
You don’t want to get stuck in a rut. I want to work with as many directors as possible because you learn different things from each one

(less)'I want to wear a bikini, but...' : Sonam Kapoor
All the three heroines of Sajid Khan's Housefull - Deepika Padukone, Lara Dutta and Jiah Khan had men drooling over them as they were seen prancing around in a two piece on the beach comfortably. Anushka Sharma too has joined the bikini club and she will be seen wearing it in Yashraj Film's (YRF) Ladies v/s Ricky Bahl.
YRF had got Esha Deol and Bipasha Basu to wear a two piece swimwear for Dhoom and Dhoom 2 respectively. Shazahn Padamsee, who joined the Housefull 2 team some time back, is very much keen on donning a bikini, but sadly for her, the film may not require any of its female leads to wear an itsy-bitsy outfit since the film's sequel doesn't demand so.
But, the perky actress is hoping that Sajid Khan brings in a twist in the tale and she gets the opportunity to wear a bikini. "I am full on.
.I am dieting, I am working out, I am fit.
.bikini dena hai de do," she said recently.
And now it is Sonam Kapoor who would like to shed the girl-next-door image and wear a bikini. Sonam says, she has absolutely no inhibitions in wearing one.
"I have worn angrakhas, salwar-kameez, bandana, jeans, skirts, gunjee - whatever it takes. If the character I play is on the beach - the correct gear would have to be a bikini.
And then I wear it in real life, too," she squeals away naughtily. But the only problem is her figure, she says.
"I want to wear a bikini but currently my figure doesn't permit me to do so," adds Sonam who will be seen in a glamorous avatar in soon to be released Players. Few years back Priyanka Chopra or Piggy Chops flaunted her body in Dostana in a gold colour bikini.
Then Kareena Kapoor set the temperature soaring in a hot bikini scene in Yash Raj's Tashan where she flaunted her size zero hot bod in Chalia..

Lara worked really hard for a perfect bikini body in underwater adventure movie Blue. Kangana Ranaut was easily convinced by director David Dhawan to wear one in the recently released Rascals.
Mallika Sherawat wore a bikini in Bachke Rehna Re Baba. A very bold and confident Mugdha Godse looked extremely hot and comfortable in a bikini scene in her debut film Fashion.
Voluptuous Ameesha Patel shed off a few kilos to seduce Saif Ali Khan in Thoda Pyaar Thoda Magic's Lazy Lamhe song. Her underwater sensuous moves in bikini was the only highlight of the flop film.

(less)Kareena Kapoor to marry before Sept. 2012?
But what do numbers have to say about her future. On the eve of her birthday, astro-numerologist Bhavikk Sangghvi tells us what's in store for Bebo as she completes 31 tomorrow.
"Kareena was born on the 21st September, 1980 which makes her a Number 3 (Jupiter) person in numerology. She is a Virgo (ruler Mercury - Number 5) and her destiny number also adds up to the same Number 3 (Jupiter).
In that case, she is ruled by Number 3 (Jupiter) twice which is the planet of 'knowledge and wealth'. No wonder she is minting money be it her films, endorsements, stage shows etc.
She also has a slight cusp of Libra (ruler Venus and Saturn - Numbers 6 and 8)" explains Bhavikk. "Being a Number 3, Kareena is very practical towards life and takes her decisions herself.
The mercurial effect of Number 5 can make her impatient and restless by nature. At the same time, she can also be a fast learner.
She looks at things very rationally and thinks from the mind first and heart later". "Kareena completes her 31st year and now enters the 32nd, which indicates 'speed' in both - her personal as well as professional life.
There will be mostly positive developments and there are strong possibilities that even the 'wedding bells' will be heard before September next year. Yes, the chances are that bright for Bebo of getting hitched", says Bhavikk.
Saif, are you listening? What are you waiting for? "On the film front, after the super success of her last release 'Bodyguard', her work in ' Ra.One ' will be liked by one and all, but after that in ' Agent Vinod '; she will not only gain appreciation but even the film will be a box office hit"

Since 'Agent Vinod' is an action flick, stunts are bound to be an integral part of it. Even the promos show hard core action and chasing sequences of car and bikes.
"She (Kareena) had said she does not like doing action but she is very good at it. She has got pretty intense expression when she does it.
She was very very good while doing it (stunts)," Saif maintained. Last year, Kareena had injured herself while shooting in New Delhi for a high-octane stunt sequence for the film.
Interestingly, even Saif had a tough time doing action and ended hurting himself quite often. "As far as me doing action, I thought it would be fun but every inch of my body was bruised and coloured in some amazing purple, yellow blotches.

(less)Shahid Kapoor in, Kareena Kapoor out?
While other members of the cast have to be finalized, there is a strong buzz that Kareena Kapoor who has earlier touted to be the female lead of the film will no longer be a part of the project. And Kareena Kapoor's ex-love Shahid Kapoor might just join the cast as the second male lead.
However Kareena's exit has got nothing to do with Shahid Kapoor being considered for the film. A source close to the film reveals, " Once Upon A Time in Mumbaai 2 is not a solo-hero project but has two male leads like the first part.
While Akshay Kumar is confirmed to play the character loosely modeled on the lines of underworld gangster Dawood Ibrahim, there is a second male lead who challenges Akshay in the film". Names like Shahid Kapoor and Ranveer Singh were being considered for the part though there's more probability of the former signing the dotted lines.
For the female lead however, Kareena Kapoor's name never surfaced after the initial hoopla. "Also there are two female leads in the film", adds the source but Bebo's chance of being any one of them seems bleak.
Director Milan Luthria has also put speculations to rest that he is casting his Dirty Picture heroine Vidya Balan as the second female lead citing the reason that the character doesn't suit her
(less)I’ve always had a crush on Bebo: Imran Khan
This young actor, who has been very successful in the rom-com space with I Hate Luv Storys (2010) and Mere Brother ki Dulhan (2011) hitting the bulls eye at the box office, is getting ready for yet another rom-com co-produced by Dharma Production and UTV Motion Pictures. Ek Main aur Ekk Tu, which is prescribed as the perfect date film, has Imran romancing Kareena Kapoor for the first time.
It has been directed by debutant Shakun Batra, who is very close to Imran and who actually indulged him by casting him opposite the girl of his dreams. Imran, who turns a shade of red even when you mention Kareena casually, says, "Kareena is perhaps the most beautiful actress that I have worked with.
And I've worked with some real beauties.'' Long before he even dreamt of being an actor, Imran had a huge crush on Bebo.
Says he, "I found her beautiful right from her first film Refugee. I couldn't articulate my feelings then, but perhaps I nursed a silent crush.
When we started working together, we got along really well. We had a rollicking time shooting for EMAET.
I observed her closely while we were working and even took her pictures without her knowledge. She sometimes looked so beautiful and ethereal that clicking her was a natural response.
" The EMAET promos have created a buzz amongst youngsters and the trade. Two of the songs - the title track and Aunty ji are also potential chart busters.
As Imran says, "With Bebo by my side, everything is working out just fine.'' Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu releases on February 10, 2012

I am fed up of playing the good girl on screen. Now I am looking for a change of image and would love to do sexy roles like Bipasha in Dhoom 2 .
I don't understand all this talk about girls refusing to sport a bikini in Dhoom 3 . I'd gladly do it and look super hot too," she said.
"But sadly, I am only getting performance-oriented roles 'Halla Bol' and 'Jail' where I am dressed from top to toe. Even in my next movie 'Ghost' opposite Shiney Ahuja, I play a doctor.
Even in Tinu Verma's This Weekend , I play a tomboy except for that one song with Rajneesh Duggal wherein I have donned a sexy orange bikini. Thank god for small mercies," she added.

The presentation and treatment of it is something different..

She is very good in the film," Saif said. Kareena may not be a trained Kathak dancer but she underwent vigorous training to be perfect for doing a mujra (an elaborate dance form developed in medieval era) in Agent Vinod , he said.
"We have a classic mujra which we haven't seen in a long time. It is again a decision that we after took a lot of thinking; should we do an item, should we get another big star and do something really hot.
But most Hindi films today have hot songs. Hot in terms of outfits they are wearing and the presentation of the camera.
" "So we thought we will go in a slightly different way and try and make it different in terms of music, expression. I believe Dinesh Vijan (co-producer) was also pushing for mujra than a raunchy kind of item song.
We need to make our item a little different, so we did this," he revealed. The Sriram Raghavan-directed venture, which was beset with problems in its early stages, will finally release on March 23.

(less)Sudhir deals Chitrangada an ultimatum
If she doesn't shape up in two months, she apparently could find herself out in the cold, replaced by a more suitable heroine to play the title role! Confirms a source, "Yes, Sudhir has issued her an ultimatum. Chitrangada will have to master the speech, body language, clothes, culture and ethos of a Muslim girl in post-Partition India within a couple of months.
This is proving difficult as not only is she completely unaware of the era and culture she must embody as Mehrunissa , but till very recently she was also actively preparing for the svelte, futuristic role in Rakesh Roshan's next (which she is no longer doing). Now, the actress has to go back in time, all the way to 1947, fast and rigorously.
" And Mishra's demands don't end just there. He has, apparently, asked her to make a trip to Pakistan to get a feel of the country's culture before they starting shooting.
"Playing a Muslim girl from 'undivided' India won't be a question of only getting the language and the clothes right. The director wants her to fly down to Pakistan and get a first-hand feel of the atmosphere and people," adds the source.
Incidentally, Nikhil Advani, who has written the script of Mehrunissa , was not too convinced about Chitrangada being the right choice for the role. But since Advani trusts Mishra's judgement implicitly, he has agreed to see how far the actress can go with the character of a girl with whom both Amitabh Bachchan and Rishi Kapoor's characters are supposed to fall in love with in their youth.
The actress, who has a packed work schedule as well as a family event to attend to before the year is through, is running against time. But the director, it seems, is confident of his girl.
"The role requires intense preparation. She is already preparing for the part and I think she can pull it off," he says.

(less)Kareena Kapoor the great gambler
After packup, they would go to casinos and clubs and spend time gambling. Now, whenever people complain about Imran Khan's gambling he blames Bebo for the bad habit!
(less)No success mantra, luck working wonders for me: Kareena
There is no particular calculation or anything of that sort. I just have been lucky with some good films, good directors and good scripts," Kareena told reporters here after the music launch of her forthcoming film Ra.
One . Bodyguard has surpassed all box office records while her previous films like 3 Idiots with Aamir Khan and Golmaal 3 were also box-office hits.
Kareena would be seen next in Shah Rukh Khan starrer Ra.One , a science-fiction film, which will hits cinema houses on October 26.
It will be followed by Agent Vinod , an action-thriller with her beau Saif Ali Khan that will release on December 9. "Shah Rukh has given me such a wonderful film and I am looking forward to my next festive release which is Ra.
One which I believe, will be one of the biggest hits," Kareena said. Kareena will next be seen in Reema Kagti's untitled film with Aamir Khan and Rani Mukherjee, to be released in January 2012 and Karan Johar's romantic-comedy, Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu with Imran Khan to be released on February 10.

(less)Preetika Rao comes to Tollywood
"Hopefully by next year, I should be making an entry in Bollywood and Malayalam films as well. As an actor, it feels great to be working in different films and reaching out to regional audiences without language being a barrier.
And since I was a journalist, that experience has helped me understand this media better." Having modelled for nearly 50 ads, her decision to act in films didn't come as a surprise.
What came as a surprise was that unlike other models who dropped out of school and college to pursue their careers, Preetika preferred to thumb down film offers to complete her education before getting into films. "My dream was to become a model and I have been lucky enough to have endorsed ad campaigns not just in India, but in Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Indonesia as well.
But after a while, modelling became stagnant for me. Even though I was offered roles in Telugu films since I was in Class X, I did not take up anything because I wanted to complete my education first.
So, after modelling, I became a journalist, which was a great experience because I love to write." Preetika doesn't mind being compared to her sister Amrita Rao, who will complete 10 years in the film industry.
"I have learnt a lot from her experience, which has given me a great insight on how the industry works. But I believe that every film has its own experience and I will get that as I progress from one film to another," says the vivacious actor.
Preetika doesn't want to be typecast as a heroine who does a certain kind of cinema. "When I did my Tamil film, the role I played was of a traditional girl.
After which I was typecasted and people from Tollywood told me that they can't imagine me doing a glamorous role -- which is ridiculous because I am from Mumbai. My character in the film is a beautiful balance between the girl-next-door who has her values in place, but can also look smart and glamorous.
So, I hope that I am not stereotyped anymore because in future I would want to do a Kareena Kapoor from Jab We Met and Aishwarya Rai from Devdas ," she signs off. Tweet
(less)Manoj Bajpayee: As you grow up, you learn to be a liar
Ramu too has announced his own version of The Ramayan. What's this latest fascination of Bollywood with the epic? It's mere coincidence because when this film was written, "Raavan" was not even in the picture.
The director and writer were so new that they didn't know how to get in touch with actors like me. Eventually, they did so but by the time they got in touch with me, "Raavan" had been made.
Ramu must be having his own take of how he wants to handle the mythological text. My "Lanka" is inspired by the relationship that Ravan and Vivishan shared.
"Lanka" explores the small town culture of western UP. You've played a character that would be synonymous to Ravan in mythology.
Is your role essentially evil? Not really. I play a powerful guy and he uses his power too when he falls for a girl, who doesn't reciprocate.
How would you define it in the context of the film industry? Power is the ability to give three hits in a year. Nothing else can give power.
Critics might praise my work but if my films keep failing at the BO, nobody will give me work. So, where you would find yourself on any powerlist? Oh! I would be very low in the pecking order.
That I am still managing to survive is only because of some directors, who have faith in me. Nothing goes against a person if he is part of a hit movie.
Whether he is talented or not is immaterial. Anurag Kashyap is one such director and you've done "Gangs of Wasseypur" with him recently.
How has been the experience been? Anurag uses me very well. He is too intelligent a director and considering that he tours the world over, he has a lot of new ideas.
After Shekhar Kapur and Mahesh Bhatt , he is Indian cinema's biggest actor's director. It's not easy to become a director who understands the emotional requirements of an actor.
Your "Chittagong" too will eventually be releasing. Are you aware of comparisons with "Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Sey"? Nobody is scared of comparisons but I must add that director Bedabrata Pain has a very different take on the subject.
A child in awe of Masterda is in the foreground, whereas I am the second or third lead in the movie. This movie has a new style of storytelling that I absolutely loved being a part of.
Having done movies like "Raajneeti" and "Aarakshan", are their any movies/roles of yours that you now can't sit and watch? I will never do a "Bewafaa" or a "Fareb" now. Today, I realize that I was not the right cast for these films and that I was not good in the roles either.
You admit that fatherhood has toned you down. What are the things you will never say or do now? Internally, there has been a shift in search towards spiritualism.
Of course, my daughter ( Ava Nayla ) has changed my life too. Even as I speak, she is sitting on my chest and looking at me with wide-eyed wonder.
Seeing her grow is a unique experience. I have calmed down a lot.
I am an actor and I have realized that even if I don't like a performance, I'll never say the truth on anyone's face. In this industry, people can't accept the truth.
As a child, you are told to be truthful. But as you grow up in the industry, you learn to be a liar.
That's a survival tactic. You might believe that you are saying the truth because you want to be honest.
But not only will you lose friends by doing so, you will also end up losing a few years in the industry by rubbing people the wrong way. So, what's the biggest lie in the industry? I'd like to mention two lies - talent survives and that a good film does well.
In reality, anybody can be a part of a hit film. He will survive and there will be hype surrounding him.
Truth is that a film that becomes a hit is not necessarily a good movie. Did you ever attract a Vivishan in your career? I am no Ravan in real life to have a Vivishan.
On a serious note, nobody is that close to me apart from my family. They are all very loyal to me both during my good and bad times.
There is no giant Lanka that I have built to be pulled down to ashes. What about your wife's film career? She is a mother now.
Currently, she is too involved with our daughter. She doesn't believe in keeping a domestic help and does everything by herself

(less)Kareena Kapoor has no ego hassles: Karan
The advertisement has been directed by Pradeep Sarkar (of Parineeta fame). Says Karan, "I've been offered several ad films before I took up this one, but I wasn't willing to take them up.
But this one was irresistible because I got to work with Kareena Kapoor and director Pradeep Sarkar at the same time. The ad makers, who were looking for an actor who was popular in all the four south Indian languages, thought I would be apt for the role.
Moreover, cameraman Nutty (Natraj) convinced me that it was too good an opportunity to actually let go." Karan shot for the ad almost a month ago in Mumbai.
"For a 45-second ad, we shot for two days on the streets of Mumbai and in a studio there. I was familiar with Hindi, and so, communication wasn't a problem.
But my lines in the ad were all in Tamil!" he smiles. Talking about his experience shooting with Bebo, he says, "She's down-to-earth and very co-operative.
For a top actress in Bollywood, she has no ego hassles. The concept required her to ride pillion with me and it was fun taking her on a long drive.
We used to chat up during the breaks and practice sessions before shots. She's also a fun-loving person and seemed thrilled during our uphill rides.
" On the Kollywood front, Karan is awaiting the release of his Sooran, directed by Balu Narayanan . "It's about the life of a character who's based in north Madras.
We're done with the filming, and the movie will tentatively hit screens in February. I'm also in talks with a few directors to finalize my next project.

(less)John as loggerheads with director Sanjay Gupta
Buzz is the movie's lead actor John Abraham and director Sanjay Gupta are at loggerheads over the opening sequence, which has the former making an abusive reference to the police force. Says the source: "The proposed prologue for Shootout At Wadala has been a source of dispute between the director and his leading man right from the start.
John thinks this won't go down well with his friends in the police department, but Gupta maintains that the film is not an exercise in public relations." Gupta says, "Yes, John does have a problem with the opening sequence, and he has expressed his misgivings openly.
Even Anil Kapoor, who is a part of the opening sequence, has expressed strong reservations about it. But I am quite sure this is the way it is meant to be.
I'm not changing the scene." Earlier the two apparently had a minor difference with regards to a song in the movie.
Says a source: "Mika, who had sung and composed the hit Ae Ganpat number for Shootout at Lokhandwala , was asked to write a new signature tune for its sequel, the opening of which would be identical to the first Ganpati song picturised on Vivek Oberoi. Since the sequel will see John in a tapori avatar for the first time, he didn't want it to have any resemblance to the old song.
John asked Gupta and Mika for a brand new Ganpati song. Gupta relented and came up with a mukhda: Dar dar ke nahin jeene ka.
..
Bhai bole to peene ka ..
." Apparently, John is so excited about this song now that he has decided to hire a dance teacher to help him master tapori-style steps before shooting for it.
But while the matter of the song has been amicable resolved, this opening sequence seems to have become a bone of contention between the two. Our source says both John and Gupta are standing their ground.
It remains to be seen who wins this round! Tweet
(less)Arunoday Singh dropped from Heroine
The reason was believed to be that Kareena Kapoor refused to get intimate with him. Touted as his big break after "Yeh Saali Zindagi", Arunoday says, he was pretty excited to work in a big project like "Heroine".
"Oh, I would have been very good, I would have worked very hard for the film and my character, but all this is just a part of being an actor; everyone's not perfect for every role," says Arunoday. What about the news that he was replaced because Kareena wasn't comfortable doing intimate scenes with him and asked for a more established name? "See, it's the director and the producer who finalise such things.
Personally, I don't think any of this is true, because they are all very seasoned and professional people. I mean it would be quite ridiculous if I was replaced for the said reason.
So, I wouldn't believe these rumours," says the actor. Is he disappointed about being replaced by Randeep Hooda? "I'm only disappointed that I didn't get a chance to do the role.
There is nothing to say beyond that. I respect Madhur and whatever he wants to do with his film.
He's trying very hard just to get it made and I know what that takes, so I just wish him good luck. Hope it's a wonderful film," he says.
Didn't he feel like confronting the director regarding the reason for him being dropped from the film? After all, he was the first male lead to be signed for the movie? "I did ask. And the reason that I was given was that they felt I wouldn't be the right person for it in terms of age ; that's what he told me.
And then, after a point I don't ask these things. If I am told that I've been replaced in a film, or a role, or in a play, or anything for that matter, I try not to let it affect me personally because all this is a part of our job and all of us are just struggling to get by," explains Arunoday.
Is he still struggling due to this change of plan, and thereby keeping a low profile? "Not at all. I was out of the country just for fun.
I travel a lot and haven't had the time to travel for the last couple of months, so I just thought I'll go out and explore. Moreover, I just wanted to remind myself that there is much more to life than just Bollywood ," he signs off
(less)Kareena's character in Heroine will be schizophrenic
And if reports are to be believed, the Jab We Met actress is going to play a schizophrenic character. Reports also suggest that Bebo plans to shoot exclusively for the film as she feels essaying a schizophrenic character will be taxing.
And without a Khan as her co-star, Kareena wants to totally drown herself in the character. Madhur is likely to begin shooting for the project by the end of November which is when Kareena will have wrapped up all her major projects.

(less)Kareena Kapoor refuses to wear a shiny sari
She explained that her beau Saif Ali Khan's dad Nawab Pataudi recently passed away and it would look really bad on her part if she dolled up for a public event when the family was in mourning. So, Kareena asked the designer to tone down the brightness.
Finally she wore a simple white silk salwar-churidar with a net duppatta and pink border." We must say here that she has worn the red sari for the Chamma Chalo song for Ra.
One and we have to say that Babo has never looked better. Guess she will be back in that avataar soon when she will start the promotions for the film.

(less)Sayali Bhagat okay with wearing bikini
I am quite comfortable with my body. I want to wear bikinis.
Sayali Bhagat in a bikini would definitely add value to any film," she said in a statement. "I work out regularly and have one of the hottest bodies in B-town.
I am fed up of playing the good girl on screen. Now I am looking for a change of image and would love to do sexy roles like Bipasha in 'Dhoom 2'.
I don't understand all this talk about girls refusing to sport a bikini in 'Dhoom 3'.
Even in Tinu Verma's 'This Weekend', I play a tomboy except for that one song with Rajneesh Duggal wherein I have donned a sexy orange bikini. Thank god for small mercies," she added.
Sayali has replaced Ameesha Patel in tennis star Leader Paes's debut project "Rajdhani Express"
(less)Kareena Kapoor cancels birthday plans
Says a source close to Bebo, "Kareena had planned to have an intimate dinner for her family and friends on her birthday and follow that up with a huge birthday bash-cum-success party. But with Saif's father Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi continued ill-health she will be keeping her birthday low-key and not celebrate it at all.
At best, she might have a small dinner with family and friends." Apparently, the cancellation was at Saif's behest.
he isn't in a celebatory mood. He was spotted at a fashion show in Delhi but that was a commitment made months ago.
Says an insider, "He has asked Bebo to keep away from any grand celebration or dish out any janamdin plans. Kareena is naturally sensitive to the health of Pataudi Sr and her beau's wishes, so it will be a low key birthday.
She even flew to Delhi to be with the Pataudi patriarch a couple of times despite her work commitments."
(less)Grigorieva seeks $500,000 compensation from Mel Gibson
Contactmusic.com reports that Grigorieva has claimed Gibson was abusive to her son during the argument, scaring him so much that he hid under the bed, and on another occasion threw him onto a table.
However, Gibson denies these allegations. They are currently processing a custody settlement for their almost two-year-old daughter Lucia and met with a judge on Friday to discuss the details.
In March, Gibson pleaded no-contest to a charge of battery against Grigorieva and has already completed the community service part of his sentence. He is currently undergoing a year-long course in anger-management, following a number of leaked recordings of their rows appearing online, in which Gibson was alleged to have used violent, abusive and racist language towards Grigorieva.
"You have to put it all in the proper context of being in an irrationally, heated discussion at the height of a breakdown, trying to get out of a really unhealthy relationship," said Gibson. "It's one terribly, awful moment in time, said to one person, in the span of one day and doesn't represent what I truly believe or how I've treated people my entire life," he added.

(less)Kareena picks Aamir over Shah Rukh
One with Shah Rukh Khan and the shooting schedule of Reema Katgi's Dhuaan with Aamir Khan are apparently clashing. Not surprisingly Bebo has chosen Mr Perfectionist, whom she has been raving about ever since their blockbuster film 3 Idiots , over 'G One'.
A source, however, defends her decision of choosing Aamir over SRK. "Kareena has to take some special training for an underwater sequence in the film and she needs time for that too.
So going for the premiere is out of the question." The shoot sequence in question was supposed to be shot in the outskirts of Mumbai.
It was cancelled last minute due to certain technical issues. Now, apparently, the location for the shoot has been finally finalised.
Since it's one of the last few scenes to be shot, it cannot be delayed again. Adds the source, "Kareena plays the female lead and SRK obviously wants her around as much as possible.
She is trying her best to attend the Dubai and London premieres because she does not want to miss the international premieres of her film." However, she has not been able to work around her dates for the third global premiere.
"This film is obviously her biggest this year, and she definitely wants to be a part of all promotional events. It's just unfortunate that the premiere is now clashing with the shoot dates of Dhuaan .
" The actress will be shooting for Dhuaan on October 26, and hence will not be part of the premiere in Toronto or any other promotional activity on that day for the Shah Rukh-starrer. Tweet
(less)Aamir Khan is the most wanted Dakoo!
But Aamir Khan's zaniest bad man avatar will be the one he essays in Maqbool Khan's Chambal Safari . Reportedly, Khan will be heading to the Chambal valley to essay the role of Bachua Daku in the director's unorthodox and wacky satire.
When contacted, Maqbool refused to comment on his decision to cast Aamir and added, "It's too early to discuss the cast. All I can say is, Aamir is the man for the part.
I am making a black comedy Chambal Safari." Though a friend of the director maintained that Khan has indeed been approached for the part.
Talking about his film, Maqbool said, "It's about a bunch of dacoits in Chambal going through a lean phase in their career as bandits. The Madhya Pradesh government has rehabilitated them under a scheme called 'Chambal Safari' whereby the dacoits have become tourist guides.

(less)Possessive Saif takes offense to Bebo kissing Sylvester Stallone | Bollywood News and Gossip
Saif had been on the sets for many days and all was well till July 18, Sly’s first day on the set. Kareena, was like an excited school girl around him, which irritated Saif .
Bebo and Sly were to shoot for a scene where he saves her from a dangerous situation. After the rescue, Kareena threw her arms around Sly and kissed him smack on the cheek.
It is not clear if the kiss was part of the scene but it didn’t go down well with Saif. After the scene, an upset Saif who had seen the scene on the monitor was seen talking seriously to Kareena.
Saif took Kareena into a corner. She was overheard telling him that she simply did what was asked of her.
She also told Saif that she’d never complain if he did a kissing scene with his leading lady. At one point, she got irritated and snapped that he shouldn’t come on her sets if he couldn’t deal with her intimate scenes with other heroes.
They continued to argue till Saif walked out in a huff. But the much-in-love couple patched up soon afterwards.
Kareena’s best friend Amrita Arora who was on the sets that day was one of the witnesses to the Saif-Kareena fight. She was seen calming down Bebo after Saif stomped out.
By evening, the lovers patched up and Bebo was seen whispering sweet nothings into Saif’s ear at dinner. Kareena and Sajid remained unavailable for comment.
Stallone got along especially well with Akshay. They would spend hours discussing athletic workouts and diets.
Stallone seemed very impressed with Akshay and the fact that he had such a strong body without picking up any weights. Stallone’s diet consists of his food including proteins like tuna fish and Indian kebabs.

(less)No Golmaal 4 before 2013: Rohit Shetty
"Yes, we have put on hold plans for Golmaal 4 . I am not going to work on the film this year or next year.
May be in 2013 we will start shooting for it but even that's not too sure. I would love to make other films in the interim," said Rohit.
Though his Golmaal films have done well at the box business, Shetty wants to come up with something unique to begin the fourth movie. "I always work on fresh ideas and if that's not true then I could have put two more heroes other than Ajay Devgn and Abhishek Bachchan in 'Bol Bachchan' and sold it as Golmaal 4 .
"But I didn't do that. Good stories are available, but then they should justify the brand that you are selling.
I don't want to cheat audience by giving them something in the name of 'Golmaal' when I myself is not convince," he added. Shetty, who finished Singham in just 132 days, is in no hurry to finish Bol Bachchan .
"I am tired after working hard on 'Singham'. I am in no mood to make Bol Bachchan in such a short time.
I would wrap it up by January next year," said Shetty. The director, who started his career in 2003 with Zameen , says that over the years he has learnt how to take care of business and economy while making a film.
" Singham was made at a cost which was 25 per cent lesser than that of Golmaal 3 . I could have increased the budget but what's the point in doing that?" Shetty is looking to remake Gulzar's 1982 movie Angoor with Shah Rukh Khan but says it is too early to talk about the project.
"I had narrated the idea of remaking Angoor with Shah Rukh a few months back when he was in India. However I got busy with Singham soon after.
There was just one meeting between us, that's about it. I guess it would be very premature on my part to talk about that further," he added.

(less)Race 2 stuck in a date trap
In fact, the schedules have been rearranged and her original remuneration has been substantially enhanced to get the actress back in the project, claim sources. A source told Mumbai Mirror, "Deepika felt that her pairing with Saif needs a break after Love Aaj Kal, Aarakshan and Homi Adjania's film (tentatively titled Cocktail).
When the dates for Race 2 and Ayan's film clashed, she opted for the latter." The Race 2 producers, the Taurani's were however, adamant on getting Deepika back on the project, revealed the source.
In fact, they were willing to adjust the dates and comply with all her requirements to ensure that she stays with the film. "Rumours about Priyanka Chopra replacing Deepika hasn't gone down too well with the Tauranis.
They sat down with Deepika and sorted out all the problems. They even agreed to enhance her remuneration," added the source.
Ramesh Taurani admitted that there were problems regarding Deepika's dates, which have been sorted out. "Deepika is very much a part of Race 2," said the filmmaker.
The date adjustment for Deepika seems to have shattered Sonakshi Sinha's dream to shed her village belle avatar, which has stuck with her since her debut with Dabangg, and don the glam doll look for Abbas Mustan's Race 2. Due to date problems, Shatrughan Sinha's little daughter has had to opt out of the action thriller.
Not so long ago, Sonakshi, happy with her role in Race 2 had said, "I believe as an actress one must do different roles. I wanted to change my image from a traditional girl to a glamorous one.
So I signed Race 2." However, the actress has now opted out of the project due to date issues.
According to sources, Race had been pushed to June for Deepika and since Dabangg 2 starts in March 2012, Sonakshi had to choose between an image makeover and Salman Khan. Needless to say, the young actress chose the man who helped her become an overnight star with her debut film than a new glam doll avatar.
Sonakshi's manager confirmed that Sonakshi is indeed opted out of the Abbas Mustan project and revealed, "The dates of the film have been pushed to June. Deepika has allotted her dates accordingly.
This clashes with Sonakshi's important schedule for Dabangg 2. She cannot change her dates now according to the requirement of Race 2.
" When contacted, Ramesh Taurani, producer of Race 2, said, "Yes, Sonakshi has date issues. She has spoken to us about the same.
I am trying to sort it out, but I can't say anything more at this moment." A friend of Sonakshi added, "Surely, Salman Khan's film is more important to Sonakshi.
She flagged off her career with Dabangg. She definitely can't ditch the sequel.
In fact it is one of the most awaited projects of 2012." Dippy goes missing After walking the ramp for designer Wendell Rodericks at a fashion event in Delhi last week, Deepika Padukone did a disappearing act scaring everybody in her team.
Unreachable over the phone for 24 hours, it was later found out that Deepika had escaped to her favourite place, the Taj Mahal and switched her cellphone off. A source informed, "Deepika is normally very responsible.
She always informs her office about her whereabouts. But last week she did the unthinkable.
" "The day after she walked the ramp for Wendell Rodericks, she got up finished all her work and asked her staff to leave. No one knows what happened next.
Except for that Deepika went missing. In fact, she was untraceable for the next 24 hours," added the source "Her team was really worried.
They were frantically looking for her. They even thought of calling her parents up.
Luckily, she called up just in time to inform hat she was safe," told the source. Dippy it seems had escaped to Agra.
"Deepika loves the Taj. She visits Agra frequently.
She always plans a trip to the Taj when she is in Delhi or anywhere close to Agra. But this time she hadn't planned on visiting the place.
So when she disappeared all of a sudden, her team got really worried," added the source. -KMS Tweet'; var stindex=100; var stp=150; var taglen=0; var tmp; var tagcheck = new Array("div","span","br","font","a"); if(storymetalinks==true) { var storydiv=document.

(less)Kareena wants to go the Meryl Streep way
The actress is not even willing to talk about the wedding issue right now since her beau Saif Ali Khan recently lost his father, Tiger Pataudi. And all of them are going through a quiet time.
But more important, Bebo wants it to be known that even after marriage she has no plans to hang up her boots. Says she, I will act till I live.
For me acting is like air, food and water an essential ingredient.'' Kareena says --I want to go the Meryl Streep way from next year.
I'd like to some heavy duty performance oriented films.'' She makes a start with Madhur Bhandarkar's Heroine and sometime in the future she wants to do movies like The Devil Wears Prada, Bridges of Madison County and Mama Mia.
I'm a Meryl Streep fan and I think age or marital status can never be a deterrent for an actor. The only thing that one needs is passion.
Like I said, acting is like the air I breathe. Its that essential.

Tweet
(less)Salman Khan is not playing in CCL: Sohail Khan
Sohail shared his thoughts on actors becoming cricketers and how it's in the spirit of good sportsmanship and entertainment. How did the Mumbai Heroes team come together? It took us less than 48 hours to get a team together because a lot of my friends are cricket enthusiasts.
I sent out a message asking them if they would want to be a part of a professional team. All of them replied back with a positive response.
We are having fun with the things are moving forward. Is there any selection criteria for actors willing to play as cricketers? There is a process.
In the first season, we didn't have one because it was very new and we didn't know the seriousness of the cricket. We thought it was going to be fun-exhibition matches but the first game of the tournament was all about serious cricket.
From there on, we decided to start training and put in place a selection system. We have tried to keep a good balance between celebrities and good cricketers.
All of them are doing well and most of them will have a more professional approach. Are you enjoying your role of a team owner? Undoubtedly, it's a lot of fun but it is getting more responsible and the league is also growing in size.
Last year we had four teams, this year we've got six teams and next year we are going to have eight teams and then we are going to end with ten teams. We are going to introduce the Marathi and Punjabi team next year.
Then there will be a Bhojpuri and a Gujarati team. We plan to cover all the film industries of India and it is a great platform for bringing together directors and producers.
What is the message behind having celebrities play cricket? It's all about sharing the space together. As we said, there is no barrier and all film industries can be a part of this competitive sport.
It's great to see them unite and play cricket in a sporting spirit. Its great fun and we have a good laugh in the after parties regarding the experiences of the game.
We are not cricketers. We are just actors training to play good cricket.
Getting everyone together is good fun. Can fans expect Salman Khan to play a match in this season? Unfortunately not.
His filming schedule and surgery last year have restricted him from playing but he may play in the next season of CCL . He is the icon player and ambassador of our team.
The second season of the famed Celebrity Cricket League (CCL) promises to be more competitive, more glamorous and more action packed than ever. The 'good-looking' boys from Mumbai will be in Sharjah for the season's first match on January 13 as they join a host of celebrities for some action-packed cricketing.
Celebs from tinsel town have left no stone unturned in promoting the event as the who's who of Bollywood and the South-Indian film industry descended on Hyderabad for the show's curtain raiser on Monday. This year will see the actors play their first international match as the Mumbai Heroes announced Sharjah as their home city for the matches.
Cricket fans will be treated to a dose of entertainment when the Mumbai Heroes take on the Chennai Rhinos.Cheering for the Mumbai Heroes will be brand ambassadors Kangana Ranaut, Sonakshi Sinha and Genelia D'Souza.
Bookings for the Sharjah matches have already hit a high-note as fans look to avoid disappointment by snapping tickets well ahead of the games
(less)Bollywood is creatively satisfying: Bodyguard director
Here one can think big and execute it as well. There are no limitations.
It is a creatively satisfying place for any filmmaker," Siddique told IANS in an interview. "One does not need to worry about funds.
The bigger you imagine, the bigger your dreams are, the bigger a film can be," he said while praising Bollywood. Siddique has made Bodyguard , a remake of his own Malayalam film of the same name, in Hindi with Salman Khan and Kareena Kapoor in the lead roles.
The film is releasing Aug 31. This is the third time he has directed the same script--the film was also made in Tamil as Kaavalan .
When asked about the difference in the treatment, he said: "Language dosen't really make much of a difference if the story line has meat in it. A few changes have been made keeping in mind Salman's fan following.
"I am very happy to enter Bollywood, that too with Salman Khan. I feel very lucky to have him in my first Bollywood project.
One does not need to give him briefing. He understands all the aspects of filmmaking.
" Siddique feels language is not a barrier while adapting a script, but it certainly posed problems for him when he had to interact with people while making the film. "It wasn't that easy for me to make a film here because I was out of my comfort zone and my working style.
I was also among new people. The most difficult part was that I didn't know the language and so it became a little difficult to make others understand with my 'tuta-futa' (broken) Hindi.
" "Salman and Kareena watched the other versions of the film. They understood the main plot of the characters.
They understood what I wanted from them. When we started shooting, I didn't have to explain much to them as they had the idea about what I expected from them in a particular scene," he said.
After starting his career in the early 1980s, Siddique made films in Tamil and Malayalam. Priyadarshan is known for adapting Siddique's films--he turned Ramji Rao Speaking (1989) into Hera Pheri (2000), Godfather (1991) into Hulchul (2004) and In Harihar Nagar (1990) into Dhol (2007).
But he has no qualms about it as he feels the "give and take" process between Bollywood and Southern filmdom is "bridging the gap between the two industries." "I had offers even before, but I didn't accept them at that time.
But I think it was wise of me because this is the right time for me to enter Bollywood," he said. Before foraying into Bollywood, Siddique saw over 60 Hindi films to understand how Bollywood movies are made.
Comparing the two industries, he said that the southern film industry is still in a developing stage. "It's not that there are any problems with the southern industry.
But it is still in its developing stage. We have great artists, good technicians, but the problem arises when it comes to funding," said Siddique.
"In South the movie market is growing. They are experimenting with story lines.
The difference in cinema of both the industries is basically of the language. Otherwise, Indian emotions are same all over the country.
Their understanding of a subject is more or less the same," he added. He also feels regional films are finally getting their due.
"Not only in their own country but even across the globe. Now, their reach is not limited.
They have set a mark in global market thanks to international festivals. Earlier the Kannada market was around Rs.
80 lakh to Rs.1crore.
But now it is around Rs.40 crore, alone," he said.
Though the director is smitten by Bollywood, there is one area that Siddique feels Bollywood needs to improve upon. "We (people down South) start work early.
Usually, we start our day at seven in the morning or maximum by nine. But here that is not the case.
The working hours are a little odd for us. It is my humble request that if the industry here inculcates the practice of starting early, the atmosphere would become perfect.
It will become more disciplined," he said. Tweet
(less)Birthday girl Kareena plans religious outing with Saif
Though we were planning a big bash for her, she has now opted for a low key affair with very close family and friends," says a close friend of Kareena's who also happens to be an actress. News also has it that Saif is so touched by Kareena's understanding that he plans to spend the entire day with her and has also planned a special gift to make this day special.
"Saif's extremely secretive. He loves surprising his ladylove.
so none of us will even have a clue about what he has up his sleeve," we are told, "However, it's understood that Mr. Pataudi is not keeping well, so tomorrow will be more of a family affair rather than the usual brouhaha that's expected.
"
Tweet
(less)Kareena Kapoor fails to keep her rivals out!
While Priyanka Chopra has a guest appearance in some action scenes with Sanjay Dutt in Ra.One, Katrina Kaif has a hot item number in Bodyguard.
Understandably, Bebo is upset with these new developments. Now, who would blame her for not wanting to share the spotlight with the recent "additions" to these films.
Any actress in her place would feel the same. When Kareena signs a project, she makes it quite clear that she is the film's lead actress.
A case in point is Golmaal 3, where PC was approached for a parallel lead role. Kapoor had her way by ensuring that Priyanka was kept out.
Says an insider, "This time around the Khans are adamant on the inclusion of their favourite gals." Bebo, who wasn't on the sets when her rivals shot, has been making discreet enquires about their scenes/song.
Not that she has any reason to be insecure, but it sure helps to know, no?
(less)Sayali Bhagat okay with wearing bikini
I am quite comfortable with my body. I want to wear bikinis.
Sayali Bhagat in a bikini would definitely add value to any film," she said in a statement. "I work out regularly and have one of the hottest bodies in B-town.
I am fed up of playing the good girl on screen. Now I am looking for a change of image and would love to do sexy roles like Bipasha in 'Dhoom 2'.
I don't understand all this talk about girls refusing to sport a bikini in 'Dhoom 3'.

(less)Vidya makes dirty look pretty: Rajesh Sharma
Her look, her body language - Vidya makes the dirty look pretty in "TDP". In Milan Luthria's movie, I play Vidya's mentor.
I'm the only male character in the movie with whom Vidya doesn't share a so-called relationship. She trusts me and knows that if everything else goes wrong, I will be there for her.
It's a friendship that doesn't have any sexual connotation. So much is now being said about Silk Smitha's brother, V Naga Vara Prasad, wanting to watch the movie and now having sued Milan Luthria and producer Ekta Kapoor for making the film without the family's permission.
Do you think his actions are justified? Where was this man all this while when we were making this movie? This film isn't a biopic and why on earth would we need to show it to him? It's ridiculuous to surface now and make such allegations. Since you are so involved in the project, why are you absent from the film's promotion? That's only because I am busy shooting in Ludhiana for a film titled "Love Shuv Te Chicken Khurana".
It's not that I wasn't called for the promotion of the movie. In fact, Vidya and the team are supposed to be in Kolkata for participating in Mithun Chakraborty's quiz show titled "Dadagiri".
But they called up my unit in Ludhiana but the dates just couldn't be adjusted. I wish I was present when Vidya comes to my hometown but I really have no options.
This Hindi movie is very important for me. It's the directorial debut of Sameer Sharma, who wrote Ramgopal Varma's "Bhoot" and Ashutosh Gowariker's "Swades".
He also gave language inputs for Rituparno Ghosh's "Raincoat". Anurag Kashyap is co-producing the movie that also stars Kunal Kapoor and Vinod Nagpal.
Kunal plays my nephew in this feel-good film. Huma Quereshi, who has acted in Anurag's "Gangs of Wasseypur", is paired opposite him.
In this film, I play a lazy man who just doesn't understand why people need to work to survive in life! From driving a taxi in Kolkata to playing a central character in a Hindi film now - you've come a long way. How have your goals changed in life? It's been a very long journey for me.
I have had my share of fair-weather friends who want to be very pally with me now. Bollywood has changed and today, actors like me, are being offered lead roles in movies.
That's a huge bonus for performers who are not aspiring to be stars. Recently, I was at Sameer's office and was supposed to do a workshop with him.
Anurag was also present and he wanted me to watch "GOW". I told Anurag that I needed to do the workshop but he called Sameer, smiled and said: "Let him watch "GOW".
He doesn't need a workshop". For someone who struggled every inch to make space for himself in the industry without any godfather, such compliments are huge.
Today, as much as before, I'm still excited about good roles. I'm in talks to do a Sonu Sood production.
In the pipeline is Hriday Shetty's "Chaalis Chaurasi" with Naseeruddin Shah. In Tollywood, I am doing a Bengali film directed by Satabdi Roy and Indranil Ghosh's film too
(less)Aamir enjoying free time with little one
Me, I'm spending all my free time with Azad :-) Love. a," the 46-year-old posted on his Facebook page.
Aamir and his second wife Kiran Rao's son was born Dec 1 last year, to a surrogate mother through IVF. The couple has named the boy Azad, named after freedom fighter and independent India's first education minister Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, Aamir's great grand uncle.
The actor, who also has a son, Junaid, and a daughter, Ira, from his first wife Reena, loves playing with his new bundle of joy. This year, he will be seen only in one project.
He will feature alongside Rani Mukerji and Kareena Kapoor in Reema Kagti's "Talaash", a psychological thriller written and directed by Reema Kagti. This apart, he has also joined hands with Star Plus for a talk show, said to be completely for the masses.
He has sent out an open invite to his fans, who wish to be a part of the show's audience. "Hi guys, important announcement: Those of you living in Mumbai, and interested in being a part of the audience on my TV show, please write to audience@akpfilms.
in. Further details will be given to you once you write here," he wrote on his Facebook.
Aamir has also been signed on to play the villain in "Dhoom 3". But the movie will only release in 2013
(less)No success mantra, luck working wonders for me: Kareena

(less)Celeb weddings in 2012
The media has been speculating about their wedding ever since. Recently, Saif Ali Khan's father Nawab Mansur Ali Khan Patuadi passed away and their plan of getting married in the year of 2011 was postponed.
In a press meet of Kareena and Imran Khan's new flick Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu, Bebo refused to put a date to the wedding. She said "It's great that people have set my wedding date, have designed my wedding dress and planned my honeymoon without me being aware of it! It's flattering, but no; I'm not getting married, yet! Saif and I are happily in love and happy with each other; we are taking our time.
" So, there are no plans of marriage till February 2012 as she will be busy with shooting for a movie. But if sources are to be believed, Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor are gearing up for their wedding in 2012, probably after the release of 'Agent Vinod'.
Saif-Kareena's is one of the most-awaited weddings in B-town. Riteish Deshmukh-Genelia D'souza: The couple met during their debut film 'Tujhe Meri Kasam' in 2003 and since then rumours about their romance have been doing the rounds in the industry.
The romance that was kept under wraps by the actors till early this year is all set for a fairytale wedding in February 2012. A friend of the couple informed TOI, "The wedding celebration will last for four days.
February 3 is the Mehndi celebration; on 4th, they'll host the sangeet ceremony; 5th will be the wedding and 6th is the reception. In fact, they have already booked two suburban five-star hotels for the functions.
" Riteish, son of politician Vilasrao Deshmukh , is 32 and Genelia is eight years younger to him. On the big screen, they were last seen together in "Masti" in 2004, but have now teamed up again for " Tere Naal Love Ho Gaya".
Vidya Balan- Siddharth Roy Kapoor: Bollywood's curvaceous boombastic babe Vidya Balan has been spotted with UTV head Siddharth Roy Kapoor many a times in events and the couple was also spotted getting cosy in Goa. Those who saw the couple going around in the tourist city spread rumours that they had married 'secretly'.
The actress, who speaks her mind out on many issues, has scotched all those rumours.Their love boomed during the shooting of "No One Killed Jessica", which was based on model Jessica Lal's murder case.
She has now admitted that she is, indeed, in love with Siddharth Roy Kapoor. Vidya has said that "I like Siddharth and would love to get married to him in future.
" 'The Dirty Picture' actress Vidya has recently purchased her dream house. It is said that she is looking for an auspicious date on which she might start living there with beau Siddharth.
If everything goes well, the marriage might be held in the first half of 2012. Soha Ali Khan- Kunal Khemu: Just like her big brother, Saif Ali Khan, Soha has decided to settle down too in the year 2012.
Soha Ali Khan and actor Kunal Khemu have been together for long. Both are also seen in many events and fashion shows together.
Recently, Kunal officially outed his relationship with Soha and the Pataudi family. He also got closer to Kareena Kapoor and bonded well during the shooting of Golmaal 3 in Goa as she was seeing Saif.
Their families have also given a nod to the relationship. Neetu Chandra- Randeep Hooda: They have so far managed to keep their relationship under wraps.
However, with recent developments, keeping it away from the public eye, it seems, will no more be possible. Buzz has it that Bollywood couple Randeep Hooda and Neetu Chandra may also tie the knot in 2012.
Neetu Chandra postponed her wedding from 2011 to 2012 because she wants Randeep to clean up his on-screen image first. However, in his latest release Sahib Biwi Aur Gangster he was seen doing some erotic scenes with co-actress Mahi Gill.
This had apparently made Neetu Chandra delay the marriage with Randeep Hooda. Actor Randeep Hooda, who has previously dated diva Sushmita Sen , has introduced girlfriend Neetu Chandra to his parents too.
Dia Mirza- Sahil Sangha: Dia Mirza, who is dating the director of her latest film, Love Breakup Zindagi, Sahil Sangha may also get married in 2012. In a recent interview with TOI, ex-Miss Asia Pacific Dia Mirza commented on her relationship by saying, "Sahil and I are in a very committed relationship.
We've been dating over for three years now." She added, "My dad's theory is going to kick in; he said the only way you can know if you can spend the rest of your life with a man is if you've survived three years with him.
In the first year, he's at his best behaviour. In the second year, his true shades start coming out, and if you've survived the third year, you know you can go the distance.
The thing with Sahil is that in the very first year itself I knew that we would go the distance. He's very grounded, clear and dependable.
" So all the best Dia and Sahil for the future Rani Mukherji- Aditya Chopra: Bollywood A-list actress Rani Mukherji and the most powerful man in Bollywood Aditya Chopra , son of Yash Chopra and the co-owner of the Yash Raj banner have been rumoured to be together for years now. Aditya even divorced Payal Khanna, who was his childhood girlfriend.
Recently, the couple celebrated Diwali together at Adityodaya, the Chopra home in Juhu, Mumbai, with a few close friends and family members, including Aditya's parents, Yash and Pamela and younger brother Uday. Buzz is that Bong beauty Rani Mukherjee may soon tie the knot with filmmaker Aditya Chopra.
However, the two haven't spoken openly about their rumoured relationship till now. The Aditya-Rani relationship is B-town's most talked about romance.
Prasanna -Sneha: Kollywood movie 'Achamundu Achamundu' co-stars Prasanna and Sneha have finally made a public announcement about their relationship. Their love story began during the shooting of the film and after two years of getting to know each other well, they have finally decided to settle down.
Ram Charan Teja - Upasana Kamineni: Tollywood heartthrob and actor Chiranjeevi's son Ram Charan Tej took his first step towards his marriage, as he exchanged rings on 1st Dec 2011 with his sweetheart Upasana Kamineni, the granddaughter of Prathap Reddy, the chairman of Apollo Hospitals group. In an interview, Upasana Kamineni said, "The family elders will announce the wedding date soon, may be next year.
" Ram Charan speaks on his relationship, "We were best-friends for the last eight years and then we dated for a year, and are planning to get married in 2012." He himself designed his fiancee's engagement ring.

(less)Virgo Woman(24rd August to 23rd September) | Bollywood News and Gossip
By love, she mean real love, no other type of love exists for her. A Virgo female is a complete woman! She has all the charms and tricks that any other female has, but she is not weak.
Infact, she has quite a determination and can do anything if she sets her mind to it. She will be completely devoted and loyal to you in a relationship.
Still, if it doesn’t seems to be working, she will severe all the ties and become as cold as the North Pole. Virgo women’s characteristics profile is an odd mix of emotions and practicality, romance and common sense.
When they fall in love, they show such extreme passion and intensity that only few other women can. Making them fall in love is, however, an entirely different task.
They will demand total perfection from you, even though they may fall short in that arena. It’s better to get used to their critical nature.
A Virgo girl believes that she is extremely efficient and organized and what is more annoying is, that she is right. She is a stickler for time and it’s better not to be late when you are meeting her.
She will not break the new, expensive vase when she is upset, but she can be very demanding and fussy. If the fault is yours, admit that you are wrong and say it while handing her the flowers.
Don’t even try to argue, or she will lose her temper again. It is better to leave her alone for sometime and she will cool again.
On the other hand, a Virgo woman will find it very hard to accept that she is wrong. The fact is, most of the time she’s not.
When you are courting her as well as after you get married, it is advisable to mind your manners. She cannot tolerate someone using abusive language, coming late, dressing sloppily, not minding table manners, etc.
It’s better to brush up your vocabulary too. She will not cling to you, nor will she become totally aloof.
She is also very good with finances and extravagance is not one of her personality traits. A Virgo female cannot stand public displays of affection and it is better to be subtle in this area.
Her taste is very good and her intellect quite developed. If you are trying to woo her, take her to places like theatre, art gallery, etc.
Just like a typical Virgo, she is prone to worrying about things too much and she will do your part of the job too. She is very much attached to the ground and prefers to live in the real world.
You let a Virgo female do her part of making things seem just perfect and she will keep you entertained with all her feminine charms. She is very sensitive and her feelings are pretty fragile, but she will become exceedingly strong when you need her support.
With kids, she will be very considerate and you will never see them running around in their underclothes. She will gentle, but firm and will demand complete discipline from them.
Even though a Virgo woman is very critical, she will not take criticism very nicely. It never works the other way round for her.
The reason for this is that she is as aware of her own imperfections as she is of yours. So, she doesn’t need you to remind her of her own shortcomings every now and then.
Instead of fretting over her perfectionism, you should feel blessed to have such a charming female who never makes your house look like a garbage dump. Your toast will never get burnt and your coffee will always taste just perfect.
She has a witty side too and when she laughs, it seems like the ringing of little bells, doesn’t it! Sphere: Related Content Posted in
(less)No Golmaal 4 before 2013: Rohit Shetty

(less)'Farhan Akhtar, Arjun Rampal back with Rock on!! 2'
And now, the original rock boys (at least the ones who made the term popular in Bollywood) are back for their second gig. Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani of Excel Entertainment have asked Abhishek Kapoor to direct the sequel to the 2008 blockbuster Rock On !! According to sources, the two leading actors of the film - Farhan Akhtar and Arjun Rampal were ready to start a sequel right after the film released in 2008.
However, director Abhishek Kapoor had his reservations back then. Kapoor had told a news daily, "I don't want to rush into a sequel just because it is a commercially viable thing to do.
The sequel has to stand on its own feet and not just be a carryover of the original." The following three years seem to have helped him change his mind.
"Now the entire cast and crew are ready. Same applies to the script.
The film will be called Rock On!! 2," revealed a source close to the film. Kapoor was reportedly working on the adaptation of Chetan Bhagat's latest novel The 3 Mistakes Of My Life and another original screenplay, a few months back.
"Abhishek Kapoor is now totally focused on Rock On!! sequel. He wants it to be as big as the first," added the source.
According to industry sources, the original cast of the film will be carried forward to the sequel. Farhan Akhtar will still be Adi, Arjun Rampal will be Joe and Purab Kohli will be KD.
However, Luke Kenny (Rob Nancy), the fourth member of the band named Magik , who died in the end of the film will obviously not be a part of the sequel. Prachi Desai and Shahana Goswami are also predicted to be an integral part of the film.
Abhishek Kapoor and Ritesh Sidhwani remained unavailable for comments
