Azim looks up to Salman, SRK and Aamir Khan
To make his character in "Qasam Se Qasam Se" appear realistic, Azim frequented call centre offices to absorb the finer nuances of the people working there. "It was quite a relevation for me as an actor.
I witnessed not only people's mannerisms but also the activities they indulge in during the break hour. Looking into the mirror, some guys would be busy ruffling their hair and taking care of their looks, while some would busy binging.
And there would others catching up with family and friends over their cell phones. This has helped shaped my character in the film.
" Azim feels that all our veteran actors were keen observers and would translate that on screen. "Whether it were the legendary actors like Dilip Kumar or the late Raj Kapoor or Dev Anand , they were schools in themselves.
I am a great fan of Salman Khan , Shah Rukh Khan and Aamir Khan and look at them as a student who looks upon his guru. I am mastering the art of acting watching their films," he smiles

(less)Big B in Kunder's next inspired by The Pursuit of Happyness
But anyone who watches it will feel like it is their own story. It is like in the genre of The Pursuit of Happyness with Will Smith.
It's that kind of a film where there is drama and a sense of comedy and all. Like even when I watched Pursuit .
. it reminded me of all the struggle that I made to enter Bollywood," Shirish told PTI, on the sidelines of a launch of a devotional music album, last night.
The Pursuit of Happyness is an American biographical drama based on millionaire stock broker Chris Gardner's nearly one-year struggle with homelessness. Directed by Gabriele Muccino, the film featured Will Smith as Gardner, an on-and-off-homeless salesman-turned stockbroker.
Smith's real-life son Jaden Smith co-starred as Gardner's son Christopher Jr. The film was a hit and won several awards.
"This is the kind of story that only people like me who is an outsider and have struggled to come in Bollywood can only make. Not anyone who is already here as they don't come across the kind of struggle we all outsiders go through to come into a place where we are not allowed.
So we identify with the story ," he said. After six years, Shirish has managed to finally rope in Amitabh Bachchan for his dream film.
The director's previous film Jaan-E-Mann bombed at the box office. He is currently working on Akshay Kumar-Sonakshi Sinha starrer 3D film Joker which releases in August 2012.
Ask him how Big B came on board, he says, "It was during Jaan-e-mann when we had kept a preview for Bachchan Sir, he saw and brought his family next day to see it again. He told me we should work together but bring a role for me with meat in it.
I started working and wanted a solo film for him which is about him. I was hunting.
..
thinking of a story and it took me long time." "After that he had told me to put some meat in it.
I was scared that I cannot go with any rubbish to him. I wanted to be very sure when I went to him that he will not say 'NO'.
Mr Bachchan plays a common man. It will inspire every person be it a rickshaw driver or cashier using their skills how he can achieve something special," he said.
The film goes on floors soon and will release next year. About the leading lady, Shirish says, "We haven't finalised it yet.
He gave his nod for the project just a few days ago and till then it would have been pointless to think of who to cast. There will be one opposite him of the older generation, then there will be a son and a girl opposite him.
" So, is he considering real life son, Abhishek Bachchan for the film? "No. It will not justify him.
.He needs a bigger role than this.
Here the film is about Mr Bachchan. But I would like to do other film with Abhishek in it," Shirish said.

(less)Shammi Kapoor’s ‘Gulbadan’, Kalpana Mohan, dies at 65
She was admitted in hospital on December 3 following a pneumonia attack. She was discharged on December 13 and taken home, but re-admitted two hours later, after she suffered convulsions on the left side of her body.
She was put on a ventilator and was in the intensive care unit (ICU) for 15 days. Kalpana's daughter Preeti Mansukhani and son-in-law Harish were at her side through the ordeal.
Her final rites were performed at the Vaikunth crematorium amidst family and close friends. Harish said that the family had kept Kalpana's death under wraps.
"We didn't want to talk about her death as we knew that many people had their eye on her property," Harish said. Kalpana was in the news recently when she filed a complaint at the Khadak Police Station in Pune, claiming that three people had forged her signature to make a fake memorandum of understanding (MoU), and then sold the 56.
18 hectare plot she owned in Mauje Visagar village to Sahara City builders in 2007. Harish said that Kalpana had been anxious and tense ever since, and the episode had left her very weak.
"However, now we know that the police have arrested those she complained against, and the matter is sub-judice," added Harish. Remembering Kalpana as a spirited, straight-spoken person, Harish said, "I remember when Preeti and I had just started dating.
She came to my house and asked me what my intentions were - if I was going to marry her daughter. She was always very protective of Preeti.
" Preeti remembers her mother fondly. 'She was always so brave.
She raised me alone and made sure I got the best education possible. She was a self-made woman and was proud of it.
" Kalpana had a brief but successful stint in Bollywood in the 60s and 70s, starring with actors like Dev Anand and Shammi Kapoor, but stopped after she got married. Later, she moved to Kalyani Nagar, in the eastern region on Pune, and spent her remaining years there.
Knowing Kalpana Kalpana Mohan was born in Srinagar on July 18, 1946. Her father, Avani Mohan, a freedom fighter, was close to Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru and an active member of the All India Congress Committee.
Kalpana, who trained in Kathak, was often invited by Nehru to dance at the Rashtrapati Bhavan whenever dignitaries visited. She was spotted by actor Balraj Sahani and Urdu writer Ismat Chughtai, who encouraged her to come to Mumbai.
Kalpana got her first break in the movie Professor in 1962. In 1967, she married a navy officer, but divorced him in 1972.
She continued to live in Mumbai for a while but stopped acting, allegedly, depressed over the divorce. Kalpana moved to Pune about 20 years ago when her health started deteriorating as doctors prescribed a change of climate

"This is extraordinary! I'm stunned that she has time in her schedule that she's coming to our studio to record. She's playing herself, and the writers describe her as the happiest, most optimistic person in the world.
She comes to Springfield to try to cheer up Lisa, but she can't," said Yeardley Smith, who voices Lisa. The 'Judas' singer said appearing on the programme is one of the coolest things she has ever done and hopes she has done a sincere job.
"I make music, but I don't do voice-overs every day of the week, and their characters are so awesomely convincing and sincere and wild and funny, I had to remind myself constantly of the sincerity of the humour. That's what I was trying to focus on, not putting on a character too much and really being as sincere as I could with the lines.
"I would say this is one of the coolest things I've ever done. My dad's probably going to do 80 backflips when the episode comes out," Gaga's guest appearance in the episode 'Lisa Goes Gaga' will air next spring.

(less)Ali Zafar to make it special for Katrina Kaif
But the singer is planning to make it special for the actress. Apparently, Ali Zafar had planned to come out with an album and had discussed his plans with actress Katrina Kaif while they were shooting for 'Mere Brother Ki Dulhan'.
Katrina was keen that the movie do well, and told Ali Zafar that if 'Mere Brother Ki Dulhan' lands up being a box office hit, she will feature in his music video. Excited about the whole deal, Ali Zafar was more than confident that the film would do well.
He is heard to have claimed that now that it has indeed made some money at the box office, Kat may have to keep her word and feature in his music video after all. So after her stint as Sheila, and those few seconds in Bodyguard, Kat may be shaking her booty all over again! But this one is going to be even more special, claims Ali Zafar.
Ali is planning to compose a song especially for Katrina Kaif. "We will work on it together - the music and even how she wants to be stylized and the whole look of the music video," he said.
"Of course, there is no compulsion that she has to do the music video. It'll just be nice to work together again.
Let's see how it works out," he said
(less)Big B in Kunder's next inspired by The Pursuit of Happyness

(less)Will Smith branded 'egomaniac'
"There will never be a reunion - as I will never do anything with Will Smith. He is still an egomaniac and has not grown up.
This constant reunion thing will never ever happen in my lifetime unless there is an apology, which he doesn't know the word," Hubert said. The actress was replaced on the show by Daphne Maxwell Reid in 1993, and blames her departure from the comedy series on the fact she wasn't prepared to tolerate Smith, who had become the star of the show aged just 22.
The 43-year-old 'Men in Black' star previously said he believes Hubert had a bad attitude, and refutes the idea he was personally responsible for her departure. "Janet said once, 'I've been in the business for 10 years and this snotty-nosed punk comes along and gets a show.
' No matter what, to her I'm just the Antichrist," Smith said. Tweet

(less)Sarah Harding was addicted to sleeping pills
She said: "I'm just glad I survived. My drinking was out of control and I was addicted to sleeping pills.
It was an awful combination." The 30-year-old beauty also alluded to late singer Amy Winehouse - who died from alcohol poisoning last year aged 27 - and admitted she went through "something similar" to the Rehab hitmaker during her darkest days.
She added: "Poor Amy - she lived round the corner from me in Camden. "I remember everyone saying, 'We have got to go and see her before she dies.
' I thought that was so f***ing morbid, but in a way everyone kind of expected it. But when it happened it was unbelievable.
It was awful." "The mad thing was, she was coming off the alcohol - and I have been through something similar.
" Sarah started drinking more to cope with her fame when she first tasted success with girl band Girls Aloud, who were formed in 2002, because she found alcohol gave her extra confidence. She explained: "I never even enjoyed getting drunk before the band.
"The drinking was more to give me more confidence - especially when I was going through my little wild child stage. It was trying to maintain that f***ing image that got me in all this trouble.
" And the singer's drink problem got worse when she split with DJ boyfriend Tom Crane in September 2010. She said: "I was lonely out at my house in the countryside on my own.
I was isolated and depressed. I was drinking to deal with my emotions after the split.
" But in October 2010 Sarah checked herself into rehab in Cape Town, South Africa to deal with her issues and she was put on Valium for three days to help her get off alcohol before checking out of the centre. However, her spell in the facility sparked a disastrous relationship with Dutchman Theo De Vries which came to a violent end on New Year's Day (01.
01.12) when the pair had a drunken holiday bust-up in Austria.
Sarah claims Theo - who was being treated for addictions to alcohol and crack cocaine during his time in rehab - smeared blood over her face during their violent spat, as well as bit her ear and dragged her across the floor when he flew into a rage during their seasonal getaway. Tweet
(less)Taylor Swift wins Artist of the Year at 2011 American Music Awards
"I ended up writing the record by myself, so the fact that you would honor it this way, you have no idea what this means to me," said Swift after winning the trophy for favorite country album for Speak Now . She was also awarded the prize for favorite country female artist.
Nicki Minaj, the pink-loving hip-hop diva, won two awards on Sunday. She kicked off the 39th annual fan-favourite ceremony by sporting a pair of speakers on her much-talked about posterior and was later honored as favorite rap/hip-hop artist, besting a group that included mentor Lil Wayne, and won favorite rap/hip-hop album for Pink Friday .
"There's so much love in this room," beamed the pink-haired Minaj. Adele had been the night's leading nominee with four nods, but didn't have much of a presence at the show: She was absent from the ceremony because she is recovering from recent throat surgery.
Adele tied Swift with three awards: favorite pop/rock female artist, adult contemporary artist and pop/rock album for 21 . Other winners included Maroon 5 as favorite pop-rock band/duo/group, Blake Shelton as favorite country male artist, Lady Antebellum as favorite country band/duo/group, Beyonce as favorite soul/R&B female artist, Rihanna for favorite soul/R&B album for Loud and Hot Chelle Rae as new artist of the year.
The ceremony inside the Nokia Theatre in an unusually rainy Los Angeles was drenched with 17 musical performances. Justin Bieber got in the holiday spirit among a forest of neon lights with Under the Mistletoe , and Kelly Clarkson, wearing a glittery red gown with her hair swept to the side, delivered a swinging rendition of her hit Mr.
Know It All as back-up dancers dressed as 1930s-era photographers snapped the first-ever American Idol champion. Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony shared custody of rapper Pitbull, who joined the former couple in a pair of separate performances.
Lopez performed essentially a live version of a car commercial starring the "Idol" judge set to "Papi" -- with the car onstage -- before launching into her hit On the Floor . Pitbull later returned to the stage and joined Anthony for Rain Over Me .
Lopez expressed surprise when she won the favorite Latin music artist award. "It's been up and down and just exciting and overwhelming and so many things," Lopez said of the last year.
Several artists delivered stripped-down performances: The Band Perry crooned an emotional If I Die Young , a pink-haired Perry accompanied herself on guitar for The One That Got Away and a platinum-blonde Chris Brown simply sang "All Back" before being joined by a troop of helmet-clad back-up dancers for a flashy interpretation of Say It With Me . There were collaborations, too.
Lopez joined a glowing-in-the-dark will.i.
