Azim looks up to Salman, SRK and Aamir Khan
To make his character in "Qasam Se Qasam Se" appear realistic, Azim frequented call centre offices to absorb the finer nuances of the people working there. "It was quite a relevation for me as an actor.
I witnessed not only people's mannerisms but also the activities they indulge in during the break hour. Looking into the mirror, some guys would be busy ruffling their hair and taking care of their looks, while some would busy binging.
And there would others catching up with family and friends over their cell phones. This has helped shaped my character in the film.
" Azim feels that all our veteran actors were keen observers and would translate that on screen. "Whether it were the legendary actors like Dilip Kumar or the late Raj Kapoor or Dev Anand , they were schools in themselves.
I am a great fan of Salman Khan , Shah Rukh Khan and Aamir Khan and look at them as a student who looks upon his guru. I am mastering the art of acting watching their films," he smiles

(less)I never thought I'd be a desirable woman: Sameera Reddy
"My name in the list means a lot to me. As as a young girl, I never thought even in my wildest dreams that I would become a desirable woman.
I yearned for a perfect body as I was ugly duckling in school. But now that I have entered films, I believe that beauty is hidden in the imperfections of people and it all depends on how you use them.
That's my definition of desirable and I am glad to have made it to the list," says Sameera. The actor is basking in the success of her last Tamil release opposite Madhavan and has Padma Shri Priyadarshan's Tezz to look forward to.

"I had a blast at NYU. Everyone was so enthusiastic, they put on a very polished, confident show, and the surprise flash mob at the end was perfectly executed.
My best wishes to all the students involved," Imran said in a statement. The students had been practising for the performance for over two weeks, ahead of Imran's visit to New York as part of the promotional tour.

(less)I would love to play a Mother India: Mona Singh
Excerpts of the interview..
. You have lost weight.
..
It's good to be fit and look good especially when you are a part of the glamour industry. For Punjabis like me, we have to work a little harder on our body.
I have lost 10 kilos over a period of one year. Why weren't you seen in fiction shows all this while? Jassi Jaisi Koi Nahi was the ultimate for me.
People only addressed me as Jassi, long after the show was over. I took to reality shows to break that image so that people start knowing me as Mona.
It wasn't a deliberate decision. But now you are playing mother to three kids.
..
I played a pregnant woman in 3 Idiots so it doesn't matter and I would love to play a Mother India also. I am an actor and it's very good to play different kind of roles.
This is like a training for me which would come handy when I get married and become a mother in real life. Also, when I was playing Jassi, so many actors half my age in Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi were playing mothers to 20 or 30-year-old actors.
Here, at least I am playing mother to much younger kids. Do you think staying away from fiction will hamper your performance, since you have lost touch? It's good to lose touch as you get to re-learn the thing.
I like the freshness and rawness of the character. There is no typical drama and crying in my show.
What experience do you have working with kids on the show? Kids teach you a lot patience. While on the show one is cranky, the second one is sleepy and the third one wants to go back home.
Do you think you will be able to repeat the success of Jassi? I will give my best shot and leave the rest to destiny. This show is very promising which showcases a marriage after 10 years and has also made me realise that I enjoy acting more than hosting.
What's your take on the institution of marriage? I believe in marriage as an institution and I would love to have my own kids but then everything happens with time. I don't plan things but rather wait for them to unfold
(less)Age no bar in Bollywood?
As far as Hollywood goes, such examples are plenty. If you loved Diane Keaton as the rebellious and neurotic Annie Hall, you equally adore her as the elegant and independent 50-something in Something's Gotta Give .
Ditto Judy Dench who played a lesbian, in love with a fellow teacher (at the age of 72), in Notes on a Scandal . But a similar scenario in Bollywood seems like a far cry.
Age has always taken precision over acting abilities, especially with respect to actresses. Over the years, we have seen some brilliant women actors fade away into oblivion, as the lines on their faces became prominent.
However, slowly things seem to be changing. With actresses like Sridevi and Madhuri Dixit making their comebacks, we could now hope for scripts to be written around actors' abilities, rather than their age.
Sridevi, who plays a housewife enrolling in an English speaking class to impress her family, in her next, English Vinglish said, "I have always maintained that when the right role comes, I would love to get back. This seemed like a script that was written keeping in mind my personality, which is why I was convinced.
" Filmmakers do not fail to see that actresses like her bring to the palette what none of the girls from the current crop perhaps can. Mahesh Bhatt said, "There was a phase between the 80s and 90s where roles were written for actresses like Madhuri.
It could have been a simple love story, but nobody would play it better. Who would want to let go of such great artistes if they are willing to work, despite all their family commitments.
" However, it cannot be ruled out that the lack of good actresses within the current generation may be pushing filmmakers to weave stories around older actresses. Vikram Bhatt who is casting 37-year-old Karisma Kapoor in Dangerous Ishq said, "I don't want to pass judgment on the current heroines, but I needed someone who would bring emotional depth to my protagonist's character.
Only Karisma can pull it off and her age doesn't matter." Madhuri too will join the cast of Ishqiya 2 soon and her role is expected to be quite different from that of Vidya Balan's in Ishqiya .
Habib Faisal, who cast Neetu Singh as his lead actress in his first directorial, Do Dooni Chaar said, "The story required a middle-aged couple and I couldn't think of anyone better than Rishi and Neetu. Even today, she has electrifying energy on the set.
" Actress Sarika, who bagged a National Award for Parzania added, "There has to be a change in the attitudes of people who are responsible for films, only then substantial roles can be written." Tweet

Then there were a bunch of idiots who aren't even concentrating on their own sobriety because they're so worried about mine. They're stealing my hats, my books - it was chaos," Eminem said.
"Everything was drama in there. And, at the time, I didn't really want to get clean.
Everybody else wanted me to. And anyone will tell you, if you're not ready, nothing is going to change you," he added.
The star also said that his fear of dying ultimately forced him to clean up his act. "(One day) I had a feeling in my arm that was weird, man.
Like, it really freaked me out. So I went to some people I trust and said, 'Look, I know I need help.
I'm ready now.' I got a room in the same hospital where I overdosed, and I detoxed," he said.

(less)Pitt, Jolie donate $340,000 to Somalia
"I'm so grateful - I don't want to cry - to the refugee families that I have the honour and privilege to spend the last years with. From them I've learned so much.
I've learned to be a better person, a better mother. They've inspired me by showing me the unbreakable strength of the human spirit," she said.
Contactmusic.com reports that the couple gave the money through their Jolie-Pitt Foundation to the Humanitarian Initiative Just Relief Aid, which helps care for mothers who have been displaced from the war-torn nation.
Mohamed Dahir from the organisation said the money would allow for an expansion of the Badbaado camp in Mogadishu - the capital city of Somalia - which takes in around 300 women and children every day. Around 29,000 children under the age of five reportedly died due to drought and famine in the country, and the United Nations claims 750,000 people are at risk of starving to death in the next few months.

(less)My son has made 5 films: Vishal Bharadwaj
" So touched was he by the children's passion for cinema that he could not stop raving about them. "They are so knowledgeable.
I don't think I knew as much when I was their age. That's the advantage today's generation has, you know.
The Internet and other technological advancements has opened a wide world to them. They are exposed to so much and they are very quick to learn too.
I am really glad that kids as young as a 12 years old are attempting to make a film these days. It is truly laudable.
Even my son has already made five films and he is just 16," says a proud Vishal. From " Makdee ", "Maqbool", "Omkara", to " Kaminey " and " 7 Khoon Maaf ", Vishal has always been a hatke director when it comes to choosing his subjects.
"I choose whatever I find interest in. I feel if it interests me, I will present it in a way that it will interest the audience also.
" Ask him what went wrong with "7 Khoon Maaf" then and he is quick to say, "It is a dark film and I think it didn't touch the chord with the viewers. I definitely believed in it and that's why I made it.
But somewhere people couldn't relate to Priyanka. I mean I thought after two killings, audience will understand that she (Priyanka) has become a serial killer but they didn't.
That, I guess, went wrong." So, after "7 Khoon Maaf", does he have any apprehensions about "Dayaan", a supernatural film.
"I am producing it. And, no, I don't really have apprehension because the concept of witches did exist in our society.
Moreover, people will get to see a real dayaan, and not like what Shabana Azmi played in "Makdee". Next, I want to make a science fiction.
" One of the first projects that brought Vishal to limelight was TV serial "Jungle Book", but the small screen isn't something that Vishal wants to get back to. "Yes, I did start with "Jungle Book" on TV, but budget is a problem with the small screen.
It is too low. So, I am not looking at TV.

(less)Audiences calling shots these days: Neha Dhupia
"What's creating more dhoom is the audience. It's so nice these days that we can do any kind of film because the audience is not ready for stereotypes," said the 31-year-old actress.
"Whether you do a Delhi Belly , or a Dirty Picture or a Pappu Can't Dance Saala or Mission Impossible 4 - there is an audience for everything. The only thing that's causing dhoom in the industry is a good script, and then.
..
the audience decides," she added. Neha's new film Pappu Can't Dance Saala has just hit the screens.
Meanwhile, be it Vidya Balan or Kareena Kapoor - Bollywood's 30-plus actresses have been lately stealing the thunder. Neha feels age is irrelevant when it comes to quality work.
"I think age has got nothing to do with it..
. Whether you're 20, 30 or 40.
It all depends on the kind of cinema you are doing," said Neha at the Gillette Saluting Soldier event here. Neha made her Bollywood debut with the action flick Qayamat: City Under Threat and later did a mix of commercial and off-beat films.

(less)The car’s a birthday gift to myself: Imran Khan
It's actually a birthday gift to myself," laughs Imran, when asked about what his plans are for the customized car that will put him in the league of Hollywood biggies like Hugh Grant and Justin Timberlake . The actor, who will celebrate his birthday on January 13, says, "What will Avantika do with the car anyway, given that she doesn't drive?" Imran also celebrated his first wedding anniversary yesterday, but says it was a working day.
"I was busy from morning to night promoting my new film," he says. Imran, who is on a high post the commercial successes of Delhi Belly and Mere Brother Ki Dulhan (MBKD), says 2011 was "the best year I could hope for".
However, living up to expectations has never been easy, he confesses. "As someone who works in the creative field, this is something you have to deal with every day.
You are always trying to live up to the critics' and the media's expectations. I am always nervous about what Friday will bring," admits Imran.
He then puts to rest rumours about the similarities his next film shares with the Cameron Diaz- and Ashton Kutcher-starrer, What Happens in Vegas. "The similarities start and end with the fact that both the films are set in Vegas and that the characters get married in the end," is all Imran will say about the matter.
Will Vishal Bhardwaj's experimental Maatru Ki Bijli Ka Mandola mark a departure from Imran's loverboy image? "I'm looking forward to working on Vishal's film as it offers a lot of scope for me to grow as an actor. Also, the audience will get to see a new pairing when Anushka Sharma and I are seen onscreen together," he signs off

Like maybe I should just take my life? I would pray to God to make me famous so that I could buy my mother a huge house." Nicki also spoke about her fraught relationship with her father, admitting his aggression left her with a fear of "unlocked doors".
She explained to the November edition of America's Cosmopolitan magazine: "He would beg, cry, stalk us..

After that, I had a phobia about unlocked doors. Anywhere my mother and I were, I made sure the door was locked, because that was my only way to protect her.
