It used to send villagers running away in terror. Now they run to him and ask him to sign their pitchforks and torches.

Azim looks up to Salman, SRK and Aamir Khan
To make his character in "Qasam Se Qasam Se" appear realistic, Azim frequented call centre offices to absorb the finer nuances of the people working there. "It was quite a relevation for me as an actor.
I witnessed not only people's mannerisms but also the activities they indulge in during the break hour. Looking into the mirror, some guys would be busy ruffling their hair and taking care of their looks, while some would busy binging.
And there would others catching up with family and friends over their cell phones. This has helped shaped my character in the film.
" Azim feels that all our veteran actors were keen observers and would translate that on screen. "Whether it were the legendary actors like Dilip Kumar or the late Raj Kapoor or Dev Anand , they were schools in themselves.
I am a great fan of Salman Khan , Shah Rukh Khan and Aamir Khan and look at them as a student who looks upon his guru. I am mastering the art of acting watching their films," he smiles

David Dhawan's son Rohit gets married on February 10, so immediately after our wedding Genelia and I will have to rush to Goa for that again. After that, will be my brother Dheeraj's wedding during the end of the month to Honey Bhagnani .

(less)I never thought I'd be a desirable woman: Sameera Reddy
"My name in the list means a lot to me. As as a young girl, I never thought even in my wildest dreams that I would become a desirable woman.
I yearned for a perfect body as I was ugly duckling in school. But now that I have entered films, I believe that beauty is hidden in the imperfections of people and it all depends on how you use them.
That's my definition of desirable and I am glad to have made it to the list," says Sameera. The actor is basking in the success of her last Tamil release opposite Madhavan and has Padma Shri Priyadarshan's Tezz to look forward to.
Sameera has now decided that she will do a mix of performance-oriented and glamorous characters on screen, something that Simran and Jyothika did in Kollywood. So is the report true that Sameera wants to become the next Simran and Jyothika? "You cannot become another person.
I had said that I look up to both Simran and Jyothika, who had a mixed bag of roles- performance-oriented and cute characters. Both had their own fan following .
They are my role models and I want to have a beautiful lineup of characters like them," says the actor
(less)Sherlyn Chopra likes being unconventional
Be it politics, cinema, sports, business or any other arena, women across the globe including India are in great form mentally, physically and consciously to undertake greater responsibilities and tougher challenges that are often encountered on paths less travelled." Sherlyn is also happy that she has gone from being just a pin-up girl to an entrepreneur.
Says she, "The rapid metamorphosis in my case would not have been possible had the mindsets of the majority of the people in the Hindi film industry continued to be goverened by prejudices. I look upto entrepreneurs who command respect and attention for daring to think out of the box and act accordingly.
They do not have a herd mentality. What they have is unadulterated creativity which is set on fire by courage.
" Naming films like " The Dirty Picture ", " Erin Brokovich ", " No One Killed Jessica "," The Black Swan " as cinema that has changed the way we think, Sherlyn says, "Unconventionality is no longer a taboo. It is being applauded and celebrated by both the classes and the masses.
The pulse of the youth is racing towards liberalisation. And I'm truly loving it.
" Asked why she decided to give us photographs that resembled those of the " Jism 2 " campaign, the actor quips, "I have pushed the envelope by choosing to cover my nakedness with nothing but pure consciousness."

(less)Flash mob greets Imran at New York University
"I had a blast at NYU. Everyone was so enthusiastic, they put on a very polished, confident show, and the surprise flash mob at the end was perfectly executed.
My best wishes to all the students involved," Imran said in a statement. The students had been practising for the performance for over two weeks, ahead of Imran's visit to New York as part of the promotional tour.
"As the president of NYU Dillagi, a Bollywood dance team, I knew we had to have simpler steps that the general public would be able to do and we sent videos out to the public. I thought that the flash mob came out even better than expected since people kept joining the mob throughout the sequence and it definitely surprised those that did not know of it ahead of time," Mohit Chhatpar, coordinator of the flash mob, said.
"It was really fun to be doing a flash mob and having Imran among us was all the more fun. He was very sporting and interacted with the students.
We are excited about this movie as well and are glad he could come and be among us to talk about his movie," he added. The Dharma Productions' film, also starring Kareena Kapoor, is set to hit theatres Feb 10.

(less)Mohit Suri to direct Aashiqui 2 with fresh faces
"It's been 20 years for that film. So, obviously now I will have to upgrade this story.
It will be the same realistic love story but with a modern theme," Suri told IANS. Aashiqui won critical accolades after its release at the time.
It also catapulted the careers of lead actors Rahul Roy and Anu Agarwal, who forayed into Bollywood with this film. Suri is also set to hunt for new faces for the sequel.
"I will cast fresh faces with a new boy and a new girl," said Mohit. While some are referring to Aashiqui 2 as a sequel, others are calling it a remake.
However, producer Mukesh Bhatt of Vishesh Films sets the record straight. "It is neither a sequel nor a remake.
It can be said as the musical series of Aashiqui ..
.a new generation is making this film," he said.

No screening of Dam999 in Tamil Nadu
Theatres in Tamil Nadu have decided to not show the film by Kerala-based director Sohan Roy, which many in the state claim is based on the controversy surrounding the Mullaperiyar Dam. The film's producers claim it just tells the story of the havoc that old and outdated dams could cause.
Many inTamil Nadu claim the film is actually a clever plot to deny Tamil Nadu its rightful share of water by projecting Kerala's Mullaperiyar Dam as a potential for disaster. The Tamil Nadu Theatres Association says the film may create tension in the state.
"This could lead to lot of confusion and violations in Tamil Nadu. We don't want that to happen.
We respect local sentiment," said Sridhar, Tamil Nadu Theatre Owners' Association. Although the Mullaperiyar Dam is in Kerala, Tamil Nadu has rights over its waters for 999 years.
The British had signed an agreement to irrigate the drought prone southern districts of Tamil Nadu. Five years ago the Supreme Court directed Kerala to raise the dam's storage to help the neighbouring state, but Kerala defied the order saying the dam is weak.
The film's director denies allegations that the film is about this controversial dam. "Nobody has seen the movie from their side so far, so my request is that people should watch the movie first and then create some problem," says Roy.

(less)Guard steals Rs 6 lakh from Salman's bodyguard
The accused Arvind Kumar Suresh Pathak is a native of Farfara in Allahabad, and is now absconding. Posted at Fun Republic multiplex as a security supervisor on Sunday night, Pathak had been appointed to man the box where the cash collected from ticket sales had been stored.
He was assisted by an unidentified accomplice, who went into the cash room to collect the money. He then slinked away with the sum, unnoticed by the other guards.
Once the theft was discovered, evidence incriminating Pathak was obtained from CCTV footage of the theatre. "The security guard was aware that a surveillance camera was recording his moves, and thus he tried to reach up and cover the lens.
However, failing to do so, he tied a bandana to cover his face," said API Kane of the Amboli police station. "Three teams have been formed to nab Pathak.
He could not be traced at the address that he registered with the security agency. The guard had lately been sleeping at the multiplex quarters," said Vishwas Nagre Patil, ACP (Western Region).
His boss Shera has been contacted for details that he might have been provided with, while employing the 30-year-old accused. Tweet

(less)IAF didn't ask us to remove anything: Pankaj Kapur
Following the denial Mausam was shown to the IAF that granted the film a conditional NOC asking for a change of 30 seconds in the film. The makers of the film accepted the condition and have carried out the required changes.
While briefing a press conference director Pankaj Kapur revealed, "The IAF didn't ask us to remove anything, they only asked for minor changes, these were computer graphic changes to be made in an action sequence in the film which we have incorporated. It is our duty to make sure that all the representation is done authentically and in accordance with IAF.
I thank them, they have been very supportive". On being asked if the changes in the fight sequence indicate the alteration of content in anyway, Pankaj was quick to respond, "The content of the film in terms of the fight sequence has not changed, the story telling is the same, only tiny details are slightly altered as per the IAF's requirements".
Mausam received the Censor Certificate three days ago but to the filmmakers' surprise the Censor Board asked for a review of the film. Following which the film received a 'U' certificate last night.
Makers of the film mentioned due to the above reasons they could not release the film on Sept. 16 as they would not have been able to meet the overseas date of release.
Now, September 23 is locked as the release date for Mausam . Shahid who plays the lead in Mausam said, "The release date has been shifted to September 23.
we needed a NOC from IAF and Censor Certificate. We got a 'U' certificate and then the board wanted to see the film once again.
This consumed a lot of time delaying the release date. We have made the requisite changes in the particular 30 seconds scene.
It was very important to announce this. Our team believes in our film and we feelthat it is as authentic as it could be.
We want to bring the best for our audiences". Sonam who plays the lead opposite Shahid stated, "We all have worked hard and I think we can promote it more for a week.
Mausam will definitely be enjoyed by all". Mausam's team also mentioned they would love to show the film to IAF as all changes asked for by them have already been carried out, this would be a mere formality which would not affect the release of the film on September 23.

(less)An encounter with Tiger Shroff
It has been reported that Aamir Khan is interested in signing him for his production, and that the actor is taking a personal interest in his grooming. Tiger explains, "We worked out together for a day.
He invited me to train with him and it was an amazing experience..
. almost like a dream come true.
He's so dedicated and such an inspiration. Despite his star status, he's so down-to-earth.
I got to learn a lot." The young chap has all the makings of a movie star - the height, the body, the genes and the connections.
A little bit of luck is all he needs. When asked if he feels the pressure to deliver and he says, "Of course I do! I feel double the pressure because of my actor dad and producer mom, which is why I want to take my time and let the right script come to me.
The script needs to excite me. My parents give me advice when required on what kind of films I should do, but eventually the decision is mine.
" A martial arts student who's been practising the artform since the age of four, the B-Town aspirant sees himself in an out-and-out action film. "I think my first film should have some great action sequences.
But I don't want them to be filmi and forced. There should be a story to the action, like the movie Karate Kid.
I see myself in that kind of a film where the script is so strong that the fight scenes are part of the storyline. Of course, romance will also be an integral part of any film, but I don't want to do the same cliched stuff.
" Right now Tiger's life is all about training to be an actor. He admits, "I wake up in the morning, go to my dance class and then train in martial arts.
I also do a lot of parkour, which is free movements that involve jumping from one place to another, running freestyle and movement-based action. I started off at an early age, so that has been helpful, but it's never too late to get fit.
" And fabulous, if we may add
(less)Farah Khan has no business to accept award: Ganesh Hegde
For the uninitiated, the entire trigger point was the 'big news' about Ganesh 'replacing' Farah for choreographing songs in RaOne - Shah Rukh Khan's magnum opus which is to be released soon. Though the badshah earlier swore by Farah, their strained personal relationship during last couple of years meant that professionally too they had to distance themselves.
On her part though Farah has maintained that she was never doing RaOne in the first place as she has moved to bigger things in life that is direction. Another dig that Ganesh had made on Farah was about her being just a token choreographer as now her assistants teach all the dance steps to the actors while she takes the back seat.
Also, Ganesh had accused Farah of spreading negative stories about him being thrown out of a dance reality show, and Farah too had retorted in the media recommending a psychiatrist to Ganesh. Ganesh feels that Farah has been misusing the power of press as she has many friends in the media.
"I just want to say that please don't run down people who are working hard. You may have the power of media but don't misuse it.
The fact is that somebody who dances well can choreograph a good song as well. Whereas somebody who depends upon their assistants and merely knows how to place the camera and do direction, that person cannot call herself the number one choreographer in the industry," says Ganesh.
He continues, "Even stalwarts like Saroj Khan, Kamal Master, P L Raj, Prabhudeva..
have never called themselves as the number one choreographer. Just by getting awards one doesn't become number one," he added.
Ganesh is also hurt about the fact that Farah referred him as an ass in one of her interviews. "Farah said, " Kis gadhe ne kaha .
. I would say that I am proud to be a donkey.
I am also very hardworking and I pick up my own load unlike her who depends upon the assistants. I don't make my assistants work and take all the credit.
In that case Farah has no business to go on stage and accept awards," asserted Ganesh

Shahid, who is very active Twitter, has distanced himself from his rumoured girlfriend and co-actor Priyanka Chopra. Apparently, SRK's growing closeness to Priyanka was the reason both were off Shahid's Twitter timeline.

(less)I prefer the word brave to bold: Ekta Kapoor
"Amma, the lady who brought me up from the time I was two weeks old, was Nepalese. She was greatly inspired by Ma Kali.
It was from her that I became a big addict of Kalighat," she says. Considering that Kalighat is a mustvisit for her, has she ever considered restoring it? "Yes.
Near my house in Mumbai, we had a small Kali temple that I restored. Now, everyone in my family, visits it once a month.
I love the raw energy at Kalighat though the pandas, at times, are greedy. The place is a bit financially driven though that could be because not everyone is paid well.
I wish, the premises were cleaner. With her strong Bengal connection, doesn't she want to venture into film production here? "Yes, of course.
I am a newcomer in film production but making a Bengali movie is in the pipeline since I want to venture into regional film production too," she admits. Meanwhile, she is toying with an interesting Hindi film script on urban relationships.
"Today, there are too many options. I want to make a movie that reflects that intelligence too can be a curse," she says.
Soon she gets talking about " The Dirty Picture " and the controversy surrounding it. Can a film be promoted without controversy? "Of course, if you have a huge star, commercial stories and two or three fight scenes.
When I wanted to make a woman-oriented film, I was asked how many more wrongs would I do? Distributors couldn't understand how I could even think of giving all the punchlines to the female protagonist. They were like: 'Ek hero aur teen heroines is fine' but why 'ek heroine aur teen hero?'" Isn't India supposed to celebrate emancipation of women? "While we are being told that the world is supposed to come to an end in 2012, we still haven't done away with a mindset.
There is a clear gender demarcation. In movies, a male star gets paid four times more than a female star.
" So, how did she break the gender bias? "When I entered the industry, I was treated as a kid. I got away by doing what a kid can do.
A woman is gifted with a lot of qualities - she can multi-task, is resilient, has management powers and is responsible. When I did television, my female actors got paid more than the male actors.
In Bollywood, I can't change the commerce of the industry. But I have the courage to make a masaledar film with a female star in the lead.
Though I made "Shor In The City", I don't have the DNA to make an art film. I never wanted to make a film that is appreciated by four critics, is made on a budget of 2 crores, goes on to make 2.
5 crores but doesn't get mass acceptance. I am not interested in peripheral, arthouse cinema.
I like "Mirch Masala" but I'd rather take Naseeruddin Shah from "MM" and have him do "TDP"," she explains. Isn't it true that though she is brave enough to be inspired by real-life incidents, she still falls short of being able to admit it? "While the West can make a film like "Anonymous" and claim that Shakespeare was fake, freedom of thought is a fallacy in India.
Biopics can be inspirational but we'll have to battle a long list of cases from religious and cultural sectors. I didn't base my film on Silk and that's why I still don't have any case against me.
" So, Ekta went on to make a biopic on an era. "India has its double standards and I too have been partly guilty in showcasing women as either saints or sinners in my serials in my attempt to narrate basic stories.
Before making this movie, I asked myself whether I would be a contributor to this misconception about women. Why equate integrity with morality? I wanted to focus on women who threatened the male domination and were perhaps, later condemned for it.
In short, they first chased success and then chased acceptance. I really love Steve Jobs' quote: "Stay foolish stay hungry.
" Finally, what's Ekta's definition of being bold? "I prefer the word brave to bold. If god gives us individuality and different star signs, traits, likes and dislikes, why then should every woman want to lead a Xerox life? If men can get away by leading the life they want to, why have different rules for women? Being brave, for me, is being unapologetic for the choices made," she signs off

. some of the pleasures of vacant schedules .
.rare !! Excitement over soon-to-be-born Baby B reached a head on 11.
11.11, especially when Aishwarya was spotted at the hospital on the eve of 11.
11.11.
Many felt the Bachchan bahu was being admitted for delivery. However, a reported statement from her spokesperson on social sites categorically denied that she was indeed admitted.
She was apparently at the hospital for a check-up and left after that. On Friday night, Mr Bachchan's Twitter timeline was jammed with messages congratulating him for the birth of Aishwarya's baby boy.
This, after another round of gossip claiming she had delivered on the day which reportedly had 150 crore riding on it as bookies across the country went on an overdrive. "Getting congratulatory messages on Aishwarya delivering a boy !!! Guess they know more than even she does !! False and incorrect news," Mr Bachchan tweeted.
There was high interest building up outside the hospital as 11.11.
11 dawned and progressed. Passersby craned their necks through cracks and crevices in the boundary wall surrounding the hospital, hoping to catch a glimpse of the beautiful Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and the Bachchan family.
Aishwarya, we believe was at Jalsa, one of the Bachchan homes, through the day. The Seven Hills Hospital has been in the limelight ever since it was confirmed as the choice of the Bachchans for Aishwarya's baby.
Set in Marol, Andheri (E), it's easy to see why the Bachchans picked it over the usual celebrity choices, including the landmark Breach Candy Hospital in South Mumbai. Before it became associated with the Bachchan baby, Seven Hills to the casual observer could pass for a luxury gated residential complex.
There are two entrances to the main building and a massive car park which separates it from the road. The back gate mostly remains closed and our sources say the Bachchans enter through the main gate like everyone else.
There is now an enclosure built in the compound of the hospital (our sources say by the hospital). Very likely, this is where the announcement for Baby B will be made.
This is likely to double up as security enclosure after Baby B's arrival. For now, there is not much activity around the hospital.
Looks like India and the Bachchans are patiently waiting for Baby B to arrive. Keep watching this space for updates.

(less)Minissha Lamba stranded in New York
Speaking on Sunday morning from Radisson Hotel in New York, the actress said: "It's really scary out here. For 36 hours, the entire New York will have to stay indoors.
A state of emergency has been declared." "Everyone is in their homes.
As I look out of my hotel window, I see a deserted street down below. Can you imagine New York without traffic? It's like a scene out of Armageddon.
" "I am all alone here. My stay has been extended for a week.
I had no choice. The airports are shut.
All flights are cancelled. Half of New York, New Jersey, Staten Island have been evacuated.
I can't return," she said. Curiously, just before she was to leave for New York, Minissha had been getting phone calls asking her to cancel her trip.
"Now I wonder if the caller had a premonition and was trying to warn me from travelling into catastrophe. I hope I can return the soonest possible.
Maybe I should just enjoy Irene's company. She's my first hurricane.
I believe first hurricanes are like first love. You never forget it.

(less)Sonakshi isn't following dad's orders?
"Sonakshi doesn't have any issue at all doing late night shoots. At least, she hasn't come and told me about it.
If this problem is addressed to me, I will take special care as the director and producer of the film," says film's director Shirish Kunder. The director is also clueless about Shatrughan's 1 am deadline.
"I have not been informed of any deadline set for Sonakshi by Mr Sinha. We have been shooting a lot of night sequences.
Sometimes we shoot till sunrise. We want a lot of dramatic light in the film, which is not possible to create during the day.
In fact, 40 per cent of our shoot is still remaining and most of it is at night," he says. However, a crew member of UTV Motion Pictures insists, "It's a known fact that Shatrughan Sinha is very protective of his daughter.
Being an actor himself he understands the unpredictable shooting hours, but as a dad he is not very pleased with her continuous late night shoots. He has asked her to be home by 1 at night.
The actress knows that her dad is just hyper-ventilating, so she hasn't felt the need to inform her producers about this as yet." Tweet
(less)I charge what I deserve: Bipasha Basu
" So, no New Year's Eve performance like previous years? "No," says Bips, "Also, no regrets this year. But then, I don't like to look back.
But what I remember is that this year has gone by very fast, I have travelled a lot, I have made too many friends, it's getting difficult to spend time with them all. I had a lot of fun this year.
I have laughed a lot..
. Yes, 2011 has been amazing for me.
" She's also ended a longstanding relationship..
. Slightly curt, she says, "The relationship was gone way back before that - it's been more than a year now.
There's no point in discussing it. Right now, it's just hard work for me.
" But why no year-end moolah-raking performances this time? "I've done it for the last four years. This year, I wanted to take a break.
There was also the promotional tour for "Players", and it would've been impossible to build a show into this itinerary. So I thought this New Year's, I'd rather be with friends and family, just let my hair down for that one day," she replies, and adds that she doesn't get to party much in India.
"I don't get to do it much because most of the time, I'm working. But I'm a very dinner-with-close-friends kind of person.
I do love to go out dancing, but in India I can't, so when we are abroad, sometimes the unit heads out and goes partying - so that's when I go clubbing all night." There was news about the Telugu remake of " Dabangg ", " Gabbar Singh ", for which she was approached to do the Tamil "Munni Badnaam".
Reportedly, she asked for a crore - is that true? "I demand exactly what I deserve," comes her reply, before she goes on to explain, "I am not going to get into the nitty-gritties, because figures are very loosely quoted in our industry. Sometimes it is highly exaggerated, and at other times, it is quoted as quite low.
Finally, the job that we do, if we are paid the amount we ask for, it is because we deserve it. I'm not answerable to anyone about how much I charge for what and why I do it.
" And what's her role like in "Players"? "I play a girl called Rhea - an automobile expert and the best thief in town. She is all woman, knows how to use her charm and con people.
..
" Quite like Bipasha in real life, barring the con bit, is it? "Oh no! I am so pathetic with machines in real life, it's not a joke. I'd rather walk, or even run, than take the car out myself.
I like to be driven around. Yes, I like fancy cars, and fancy bikes too.
It's my dream to learn how to ride one myself, but for now, I am content being driven around. And, for the record, I don't con anyone - I never have.
I am what I am and what you see is what you get. And as for charming, I am said to be charming - people do tell me that, but I don't know about it myself, I think a little bit of it must be true - not so bad, huh?" And wearing the bikini - that must've made her feel attractive as well.
..
"It's all positive talk, so it's great - if my carriage in a bikini is great, and if I do it gracefully, then I think..
. that's it.
In a film like "Players", a sexy thriller - it's like a James Bond film where you can wear a bikini and look in sync with the film, it doesn't look forced. And the character I play is like that.
Also, I wore a bikini on screen when it made sense to me. I would not do it for anybody on earth, and did not, till now.
We did a lot of prepping for it. Six weeks of training - I followed a discipline - you know, to look right on screen.
There's a fine line - you can either look vulgar or look sexy, and I would always opt to look sexy rather than going in the other direction. And for that, more than anything else, you have to have the trust the directors, and I trusted the DOP.
It has to be about your style and your comfort level - you have to be as easy as you are in a pair of jeans in the bikini - only then will it work," explains Bipasha. But what's it with the 'trusting the directors' bit? "Well, how such scenes turn out depends entirely on the sensibility of the director.
Cheesy camera angles can spoil it. Also, you have to have an inner sense as an actor - the intentness to do what you want to do in front of the camera.
Everything cannot be spoon fed. I did the shots, and I wanted to do them, whether the frontal shots or the side pose.
I have been into bodies and fitness, so I am very critical about how a body should look in terms of flaunting it. I would never fall down and roll and do a cleavage shot - I have seen those in Bollywood films and those are things I cannot tolerate.
I wouldn't do that. That's not me - I'd rather look sharp and sexy and stylish just doing a walk.
" Ok. On to "Singularity" then.
When do we get to see what she's done with Josh Hartnett? "I have no idea about when the film is coming to India. I am to fly down to London to see it, I have no dates right now to do so.
I hope to see it End of Jan, and sometime in summer, you will all see it," says Bipasha. And as for Hollywood career, Bips says, "I am definitely not planning a move to Hollywood, but if anything comes my way and I can entertain a global audience, I am open to it.
But I am not open to flying down and living in LA for two-three months. I am accepted here and I am very happy doing the films I do here.
" And 2012 for her will be about? ""Players", "Raaz 3", one of the most challenging roles of my life, and in April, I want to shoot my second DVD. So, 2012 is all about work for me," says Bipasha
(less)Stampede stops Emraan Hashmi’s Jannat 2
The first shot took place at 8:45 am and while the unit was expecting for a trouble-free experience at such an early hour, on the contrary they faced a stampede and the shoot had to be wrapped much earlier to its scheduled pack-up time. Moreover the evening shoot had to be canceled and the reason is being told that a lot of people came to see Emraan Hashmi when they came to know that he is shooting at a nearby location in Delhi.
Jannat 2 directed by Kunal Deshmukh (who also directed the first part) is a sequel to the 2008 hit Jannat . Esha Gupta will be seen opposite Emraan Hashmi in the film.
Previously titled Informer , the film is thematically similar to the prequel. Jannat 2 is also a story about a single man's immense desire to make it big in life by any means.
Arjun Dixit, the character played by Emraan Hashmi in Jannat , was a small time gambler turned into a big shot bookie, while this time Jannat 2 will have illegal arms trading as its backdrop

(less)'No sequel to K3G'
KJo rightly calls K3G "the pillar film of Dharma" and says, "It was my father Yash Johar's most favourite film. He liked K3G even more than my first film Kuch Kuch Hota Hai.
That alone makes K3G more special to me." Getting a tad sentimental about his 10-year-old baby, Karan says, "I honestly can't believe that so many years have gone by.
Satellite channels have kept it alive in the minds of people. Every week some channel is playing it, and I'm flooded with messages on social networking sites or on my phone.
Most of the feedback is positive and it makes me nostalgic and proud." The filmmaker is pleasantly taken in by the fact that families in India and overseas continue to think of K3G as the ultimate family flick.
"There is deep connectivity with it across the globe; not only with Indians but with non-Asians as well. Whether it is Germany or France, K3G is recommended even by foreigners as the quintessential Bollywood film.
The emotions conveyed through this film are so deep; and since family is such a large part of what we are all about, the film resonates with everyone.'' Happy that his actors have grown in stature since, Karan says, "The legend of Amit uncle, Shah Rukh and Hrithik has become bigger now.
Even today the Hrithik-Kareena pairing, the magic of SRK and Kajol , the stature that Amit uncle and Jaya aunty brought to the film..
. all of it is intangible.
" Having said that, Karan rules out the possibility of a sequel to the film because he is nervous. "I don't think I can write a screenplay to justify the magnetism of these actors.
Recreating the kind of history this film has enjoyed may not be possible. I'm scared that I may not be able to strike the same emotional chord once again.
Since I don't wish to bring even the slightest blemish to K3G, a sequel is ruled out." The flamboyant filmmaker also rules out a party to celebrate the movie.
He feels, "Just throwing a party is not adequate. It isn't just a celebratory moment.
It's a celebrated movie that lives and breathes beyond our shores. And I wish to express my love and gratitude to the entire cast, crew and my audience who has supported this film.
Through them, it has earned its rightful place in the sun."

(less)Priyanka makes Katrina and Jacqueline feel uncomfortable
This seems to be the exact reason why Katrina Kaif, Chitrangada Singh and Jacqueline Fernandez opted out of the superhero project. A source said, "Priyanka Chopra is the resident heroine of the franchise and is also known to be very close to the Roshans.
Other heroines were bound to feel insecure. So, Katrina, Chitrangada and Jacqueline, all of whom audaciously stepped in, then stepped out, because of Priyanka's presence.
" The source added, "The other heroine's role in the film requires 120 days of shooting from the actress plus rigorous physical preparation. Katrina said no without a second thought.
Chitrangada and Jacqueline were persuaded to join in. But once they realised that playing the character required huge amounts of physical preparation and filming time, they opted out.
" The actresses apparently expressed the same fear to friends that after Agneepath , the Hrithik-Priyanka jodi would be played up at the other heroine's expense. Despite all this, Kangana has now stepped in to play the second actress.
A source said, "Kangna apparently had a very bad experience with the Roshans when her role in Kites was slashed in favour of Barbara Mori. It just goes to show how much guts the girl has.
" Rakesh Roshan maintained, "Kangana is doing the Krrish sequel." Tweet

"First time I met her, she was kind of a daft, dopey person, like, just wandering around, a little bit crazy. She just seemed like an ordinary girl with extraordinary hair.

(less)Bodyguard: Movie Review
To divert him from duty, Divya starts flirting with Lovely on phone posing as an anonymous caller. Until she expectedly falls in love with him! This love story clearly brings back memories of the Ghajini romance track with merely a gender-reversal.
Like Aamir Khan who never discloses his true identity to Asin in Ghajini , even Kareena Kapoor refrains from revealing to Salman that she's her secret caller. Where does Kuch Kuch Hota Hai come into picture, you ask? Well, while there isn't any love-triangle as such, there's an ailing mother on deathbed who writes personalized notes to her son, unveiling the entire narrative in flashback mode.
And like the daughter in K2H2 , the son of Bodyguard finds a substitute for mother through his biological mom's diary. What still works in the film's favour is that, unlike most overblown Salman Khan capers, Bodyguard doesn't go slapstick in humour, loud in attitude or crass in conduct.
Salman continues to be a glorified hero who does the customary topless act in the climax but, in the character of Lovely Singh, he is refreshingly restrained and comes across as down-to-earth guy (esp. after his regular recent ostentatious antics).
The story isn't much innovative but at least it stays true to its theme. Regardless of the title, theme or Salman's biceps, Bodyguard is more of a love story than an action film.
It remains lighthearted for its major runtime until when the villains suddenly surface in the climax. Unlike the Tamil or Malayalam versions, there isn't much buildup or back-story about the baddies in the Hindi Bodyguard and Salman makes mandatory mincemeat of them in a single action sequence.
Popular South filmmaker Siddique , who already directed the Malayalam and Tamil versions, seems at ease while making the film for the third time. He works more for a surprise element in the climax but it isn't something that you can't see coming.
And though the climax is predictably cliched, he doesn't leave much scope for melodrama. The pacing is quick, music is peppy, action is stylized and editing is crisp.
Karisma Kapoor's dubbing for Kareena's telephonic conversations seems seamless. Salman Khan is cool and convincing in the title role.
His subdued act and charming innocence wins your heart. Kareena Kapoor is likeable.
Hazel Keech as Kareena's friend is alluring. Rajat Rawail, as the bloated comedian, makes you laugh with his funny T-shirt captions and gibberish lines.
The graceful actress of yesteryear, Vidya Sinha, is criminally wasted. The villains from Aditya Pancholi to Mahesh Manjrekar have nothing much to do either.
Bodyguard doesn't catch you off guard. But it's a decent entertainer nonetheless
(less)Saif, Kareena: No-kissing policy
Says Bebo and he have decided against puckering up with co-stars Saif Ali Khan is unhappy with reports claiming he has smooched co-star Deepika Padukone in Race 2. Apparently, there are no kissing scenes in the film and Saif is wondering where these stories have originated from.
Says a source close to the actor, "During the release of their last film Aarakshan, there was buzz that Saif and Deepika had become very fond of each other. Now with Race 2 around the corner, everyone's talking about the kissing scene.
Saif wants to nip these rumours in the bud. He even plans to talk to Deepika about it.
" Interestingly, we hear that about a year ago Saif and Kareena Kapoor had decided they wouldn't do kissing scenes in their films and even made their decision clear to filmmakers. Adds the source, "With marriage imminent early next year, they don't want any controversies.
Even in the case of Madhur Bhandarkar's Heroine , Kareena has made it clear that she won't do kissing scenes. For Race 2, Saif had communicated the same to directors Abbas-Mustaan.
" Khan confirms to BT, "There are no kissing scenes in Race 2." His spokesperson adds, "Kareena and Saif had decided on a no-kissing policy sometime ago.
" Strangely though, all parties associated with the film confirm that there are indeed intimate scenes between Saif and Deepika. Which is confounding because aren't intimate scenes a step ahead of kissing scenes? So then, does the pact between the Nawab and his to-be-Begum make sense? Perhaps Himesh Reshammiya will see the irony in this situation because the lines from his song Umrao Jaan, which go something like, "No kissing, no kissing.
..
only seeing, only seeing!' completely defines the above situation!
(less)SRK interacts with Bangalore fans in Kannada
He spoke in Kannada much to the delight of his fans. Shah Rukh started his speech by greeting his fans with a "Namaskaara"! He used Kannada words and phrases like "Bengaluru Chennagidhe" (Bangalore is a beautiful city), "Oota Aayitha?" (Had your lunch?) and "Chennagidhdheera" (How are you, are you okay?).
The actor went down the memory lane, recalling the few days that he spent in Bangalore as a child. He said he had always had fond memories of the city.
Though he didn't speak much about the film, he entertained the public by grooving to the catchy tunes of its song "Chammak challo". Shah Rukh told journalists about the special appearance of Rajinikanth in the film.
He said Rajinikanth will play the role of Chitti - the same character that he played in the Shankar-directed Tamil film " Endhiran ". Shah Rukh also talked about the cameos by Sanjay Dutt and Priyanka Chopra .
"I wanted both Khalnayak and Desi Girl to be part of my film. That is why they are part of the film," he said.
There was a lot of frenzy among his fans when Shah Rukh threw the audio CD album at the Royal Meenakshi Mall at the Bannerghatta Road. The superstar, who plays a super hero in the mega-budget "RA.
One", presented mementoes to some of his fans during the promotional event for the movie, releasing this Diwali, Oct 26. Hundreds of starry-eyed fans cheered for the actor outside the mall, and waited for him with welcome banners.
Some even stood with vinyl banners of his film. Shah Rukh got on to the roof the car to greet his fans.
Some teenage fans kissed him after receiving mementoes from him. A few fans, who got special passes for the event, danced with Shah Rukh.
"RA.One" also features Kareena Kapoor and Arjun Rampal
(less)Neil Nitin Mukesh's true to life
A unit source revealed, "Skeptical about Neil Nitin Mukesh's safety using a real M20 Super Bazooka while shooting for "Players" in Russia, director duo Abbas-Mustan wanted to use a replica. But the adventurous actor insisted on a live Bazooka to be used for the shot.
It was after much deliberation that the directors gave into Neil's demand." "All the crew members and onlookers were cleared off the sets.
The powerful impact of the Bazooka could land up injuring anybody and Abbas-Mustan did not want to take any risk." But for Neil, it was a dream-come-true.
He was more excited because Abbas-Mustan gave into his wish. The actor kept telling the crew members on the sets that, how - from playing with the weapon on a gaming console - to actually holding it, it was an unforgettable experience for him.
But things were not as easy as it seemed. "Neil had to maintain a calm and composed facial expression and take care not to shut his eyes while firing the gun as the impact of the scene would have been lost.
The director duo had also warned that Bazooka fired both ways, front and back and Neil should be on his toes while pulling the trigger. And although he was given training before the shoot on how to handle the weapon by members of the Russian army, his feet were still held strong and mounted on a special platform, so that he wouldn't get thrown off by the massive impact that the gun creates," said our source.
When contacted, Neil confirmed using a live M20 Super Bazooka saying, "The scene required me to fire two shots. The first shot made my heart sink into my boots.
My body jerked violently with the impact. When I fired for the second time, I was more prepared to deal with it.
There was complete stability."
(less)Satyajit Ray's rare documentary Sikkim now in markets
When the Himalayan kingdom merged with India in 1975, the Indian government also banned it. Two years ago, the ministry of external affairs lifted the ban on the film.
Since then, Sikkim has been shown only to restricted audiences at film festivals, including the 2010 Kolkata Film Festival. "We do not know why the film was banned for so long But it is not a political film and has no propaganda.
It is about the flora, fauna, the natural beauty and diversity of the Himalayan kingdom," Ray's son Sandip said. After releasing the DVD and VCD release of Sikkim , he said that the original negative of the film is lost.
A damaged print of the film was restored by the Gangtok-based Art and Culture Trust (ACT) of Sikkim in 2002 with support of The Academy of Motion Pictures, Art and Science in California. "I remember that the original film had excellent colours.
But unfortunately now it is lost. However, the present CD version is viewable," Sandip Ray said.

Kunal Deshmukh donned the director's cap (literally too, to save himself from Delhi's scorching heat) and was seen canning the shot, while managing the crowd too. In the movie, Emraan will be seen playing the role of an informer, while Randeep and Zahid will be seen as crime branch cops
(less)Imran Khan, Avantika Malik's simple life
Recently, on a lazy afternoon, the duo walked down from their home in Bandra to a nearby supermarket to pick up groceries. Onlookers began taking pictures of the duo as they went about filling the shopping cart with pastas, veggies and fresh fruit.
When they decided to leave, the staff of the supermarket informed them that a huge crowd had collected outside and it would be best if they called their car to the gate to fetch them. Since they hadn't come in a car, they had to call mamujaan Aamir Khan .
Aamir sent over a car and his guards to take the duo home, to their apartment building, just two buildings away. What an adventure that turned out to be!

(less)Big B suffers hairline rib fracture
"That takes care of the next 3-4 weeks because that is the recognised healing period. Bear the pain and that is it.
..
Damn!" It is the good old hot water bottle that is helping the 68-year-old endure acute pain and, occasionally, reminding him of Delhi and Allahabad. "The hot water bottle has become my greatest companion for the last two days and, with the results of the CT scan, it looks like I shall stay with it much longer than I had imagined.
It's such a useful element in the house," he posted. "And from the time I realized the difference between hot and cold, the hot water bottle has never undergone any change in size or shape.
It has been like this for donkey's years. The winter in Allahabad and Delhi are distinct reminders of it," he added.

(less)SRK back on Shahid's Twitter, Priyanka isn't
..
. Read the weirdest story that I had stopped following SRK .
..
Only to realize that I actually had ..
..
..
No clue how (sic)," Shahid tweeted. "Well he's back on my follow list .
..
. Was just some random thing people going loony over it !!! Haha .
..
. (sic)," added the actor.
Shahid, who is very active Twitter, has distanced himself from his rumoured girlfriend and co-actor Priyanka Chopra. Apparently, SRK's growing closeness to Priyanka was the reason both were off Shahid's Twitter timeline.
Shahid, who was recently seen in his father's directorial debut Mausam, is rumoured to be dating Bipasha Basu. But nothing has come out of it.
Now, that Shahid is back to following @iamsrk, we wonder if a similar courtesy will be extended to @priyankachopra too. Tweet
