Azim looks up to Salman, SRK and Aamir Khan
To make his character in "Qasam Se Qasam Se" appear realistic, Azim frequented call centre offices to absorb the finer nuances of the people working there. "It was quite a relevation for me as an actor.
I witnessed not only people's mannerisms but also the activities they indulge in during the break hour. Looking into the mirror, some guys would be busy ruffling their hair and taking care of their looks, while some would busy binging.
And there would others catching up with family and friends over their cell phones. This has helped shaped my character in the film.
" Azim feels that all our veteran actors were keen observers and would translate that on screen. "Whether it were the legendary actors like Dilip Kumar or the late Raj Kapoor or Dev Anand , they were schools in themselves.
I am a great fan of Salman Khan , Shah Rukh Khan and Aamir Khan and look at them as a student who looks upon his guru. I am mastering the art of acting watching their films," he smiles

(less)I never thought I'd be a desirable woman: Sameera Reddy
"My name in the list means a lot to me. As as a young girl, I never thought even in my wildest dreams that I would become a desirable woman.
I yearned for a perfect body as I was ugly duckling in school. But now that I have entered films, I believe that beauty is hidden in the imperfections of people and it all depends on how you use them.
That's my definition of desirable and I am glad to have made it to the list," says Sameera. The actor is basking in the success of her last Tamil release opposite Madhavan and has Padma Shri Priyadarshan's Tezz to look forward to.
Sameera has now decided that she will do a mix of performance-oriented and glamorous characters on screen, something that Simran and Jyothika did in Kollywood. So is the report true that Sameera wants to become the next Simran and Jyothika? "You cannot become another person.

(less)Sherlyn Chopra likes being unconventional
Be it politics, cinema, sports, business or any other arena, women across the globe including India are in great form mentally, physically and consciously to undertake greater responsibilities and tougher challenges that are often encountered on paths less travelled." Sherlyn is also happy that she has gone from being just a pin-up girl to an entrepreneur.
Says she, "The rapid metamorphosis in my case would not have been possible had the mindsets of the majority of the people in the Hindi film industry continued to be goverened by prejudices. I look upto entrepreneurs who command respect and attention for daring to think out of the box and act accordingly.
They do not have a herd mentality. What they have is unadulterated creativity which is set on fire by courage.
" Naming films like " The Dirty Picture ", " Erin Brokovich ", " No One Killed Jessica "," The Black Swan " as cinema that has changed the way we think, Sherlyn says, "Unconventionality is no longer a taboo. It is being applauded and celebrated by both the classes and the masses.
The pulse of the youth is racing towards liberalisation. And I'm truly loving it.
" Asked why she decided to give us photographs that resembled those of the " Jism 2 " campaign, the actor quips, "I have pushed the envelope by choosing to cover my nakedness with nothing but pure consciousness."

"I had a blast at NYU. Everyone was so enthusiastic, they put on a very polished, confident show, and the surprise flash mob at the end was perfectly executed.
My best wishes to all the students involved," Imran said in a statement. The students had been practising for the performance for over two weeks, ahead of Imran's visit to New York as part of the promotional tour.
"As the president of NYU Dillagi, a Bollywood dance team, I knew we had to have simpler steps that the general public would be able to do and we sent videos out to the public. I thought that the flash mob came out even better than expected since people kept joining the mob throughout the sequence and it definitely surprised those that did not know of it ahead of time," Mohit Chhatpar, coordinator of the flash mob, said.
"It was really fun to be doing a flash mob and having Imran among us was all the more fun. He was very sporting and interacted with the students.

It can be said as the musical series of Aashiqui ..

(less)Bollywood scripts huge success at Pak box office
Aamir Khan's 3 Idiots collected Rs 5 crore across the border and the Shah Rukh Khan-starrer My Name Is Khan raked in Rs 5.25 crore.
The Salman Khan-starrer Bodyguard outdid them both by earning Rs 6 crore. Another Shah Rukh-starrer, Don 2, meanwhile, is expected to pull in Rs 7.
25 crore. In fact, some experts say Pakistan is now one of Bollywood's top five overseas markets and could soon rival the business done in Australia.
The ban on Indian films was lifted across the border in 2006, but things began really hotting up a year later. Riffat Siddiqi, a well-known distributor in Pakistan, said, "From the time the market opened up in 2007, Indian films became the source for rebuilding cinema in the country.
Within just four years, the entertainment business grew by 300% at the box office." Bollywood can't ignore Pakistan now as an overseas market.
Trade pundits said the business pattern in Pakistan is similar to that of the Punjab territory in India. When the ban was lifted, the John Abraham-starrer 'Goal' was the first new Indian release to open there in November 2007.
It released with seven prints, but within two years the print run of Hindi films multiplied thrice over. '3 Idiots', released in 2009, was shown on 22 screens.
'Don 2', released in 2011, had 38 screens. Currently, there are about 80 cinema halls there and trade pundits say another 20 could be added in two years.
About 50 Hindi films release in Pakistan now every year and the big ones have the ability to do business of US $1 million (Rs 4 crore to 5 crore) or more, said Pakistani sources. All the top Khan films are sold for $200,000 to $300,000 (Rs 1 crore to 1.
5 crore). Hrithik Roshan, Saif Ali Khan and Akshay Kumar films go for $75,000 to $150,000 (Rs 37.
5 lakh to 75 lakh), said experts. India-based Amrita Pandey, of UTV Motion Pictures, said, "I think the growth has been significant -- from no release before 2007 to now, where the box office gross for an average film is $400,000 (Rs 2 crore).
With 50 Hindi films releasing there every year, Pakistan figures in the top five of the international markets." Siddiqi added, "India has six territories and Pakistan has two, Sindh and Baluchistan is one and Punjab and Frontier the other.
The growth of cinema at the moment remains in Sindh and Punjab only. Around 60% of the cinemas remain in Punjab, like in south India.
" Mahesh Ramanathan, of Reliance Entertainment, who takes the credit for tapping the Pakistan market, said that some frontier areas are now opening up. He said, "We have been at the forefront of the rapidly expanding market in Pakistan for Hindi films with '3 Idiots', 'Bodyguard' and 'Don 2' setting new marks there.
The screen count is set to increase in two to three years, he added, and "Pakistan can rival a major international market like Australia for Hindi films". Pakistan's film industry was able to release only 10 films last year, but there is a chance these numbers will go up.
Pakistani film producer Sevy Ali said, "The government has made it mandatory for every mall that is being built to have a multiplex, which will help the business of cinema grow. We only released 10 films last year, but this year there will be 20.
" Incidentally, late last year there were calls from within the Pakistani film industry and media to ban Indian films so that local efforts would get a boost. Indian film producers have to look for partners outside the country to get their films into Pakistan.
India-based Vikas Mohan, vice president of the Association of Motion Pictures and Television Programme Producers, said, "Production house are releasing their films through partners in Dubai or London. Pakistan is capable of being a territory that can generate a revenue of up to Rs 15 crore for any big film.
Unfortunately, there are still unresolved issues which deprive both sides from benefitting from the business of cinema." In the past year, the increase in multiplexes and introduction of digital cinema has boosted the business.
Nadeem Mandviwalla, of Mandviwalla Entertainment in Pakistan, said, "Digital cinema boosted the film exhibition business in Pakistan with the release of 'Ra-One' and 'Don 2'. 'Don 2's' opening week was better than other films with a business of nearly Rs 4 crore.
" Earlier, Indian films were sold in Pakistan for only a few lakhs, but now the price of big films has jumped by more than 40%. Pakistani film distributor Amjad Rashid, currently in India to buy films, said, "Today, the price for Salman Khan films is the highest in Pakistan.
Shah Rukh Khan's latest release, 'Don 2', has done record business at the box office. The buying of their films is likely to double this year.
" Bollywood's official foray into Pakistan may have been a recent occurrence, but despite the over 40-year ban, Bollywood, its icons, its music and its dancing have always remained an integral part of life in Pakistan. Yusra Askari, a mediaperson in Lahore, said, "Bollywood's impact appears everywhere, from the mainstay of a Pakistani wedding to street lingo.
" She added. "In the past decade, Bollywood-based artistic exchanges between India and Pakistan have initiated increased cultural interaction between the two countries.
Bollywood has not only gained a huge fan following in Pakistan, it has often attracted aspirants and sometimes even Pakistani cricketing icons try their luck at filmdom." Despite an increased cultural dialogue between Islamabad and Delhi, visas to travel to India may be still hard to come by for the average Pakistani, Askari added.
"Nevertheless, Pakistanis can always rely on Bollywood cinema to bring home a slice of Mumbai magic," she said. Currently about half-a-dozen actors and singers work in Bollywood films.
Rashid said, "We have only been importing films. It is high time we started exporting Pakistani television serials, which are very popular, and also the music, a high point of Pakistani culture.
I feel there is a need for India to do business with Pakistan and there should be relaxations in granting visas to artistes." Filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt, considered a cultural ambassador, added, "There is abundant talent in Pakistan crying to be discovered.
Indian cinema is moving from strength to strength. We can add new colour to our products by taking fresh talent from Pakistan.
We both stand to benefit if we partner one another and make a co-production." But there is also an opinion that the presence of Pakistani artistes won't really help a film.
Producer Ali said, "Pakistanis want to see the Khans or maybe an Akshay Kumar or Hrithik Roshan. A Pakistani actor is a novelty in India, not in Pakistan.

(less)Abhishek Bachchan takes a pay cut
A source close to the project told Mumbai Mirror, "Abhishek took the initiative and decided to lower his fee. Neil and Sonam followed suit.
By the time Viacom 18 took over the ailing project, the production cost was already down by approximately Rs 18 crore." According to the source, Abhishek decided to cut down his fee after finding out that the project was suffering financially.
"Most of the lead actors took a sizeable pay cut voluntarily. The project was turning out to be extremely expensive.
The action film required shooting at dome of the most expensive locations in the world. The budget had spiraled to nearly Rs 90 crore," added the source.
Vikram Malhotra, the COO of Viacom 18, however, informed that the expenses incurred for the project is nowhere close to the rumoured budget. "It's not as high as it's being made out to be.
Also, we've already recovered a chunk of our investment through the satellite and music rights of the film (sold for approximately Rs 17 crore and Rs 3.35 crore respectively)," said Malhotra.
When asked about the pay cuts, he added, "I am not at liberty to discuss this. But I will say this.
Players is a very important film for every member of the cast. And they're doing everything they can to ensure that the film reaches the theatres on January 6 without financial liabilities.

(less)Ajay Devgn bags 18-cr deal
Devgn who made his debut with Phool Aur Kaante in 1991, has been charging Rs 6-8 crore for his films. After the success of Singham, the actor has finally decided to hike his price.
For Vashu Bhagnani's next project, the remake of 1983 superhit Himmatwala, Devgn has been paid Rs 18 crore, more than double his usual fee. A source revealed to Mumbai Mirror, "Ajay Devgn is one of the most bankable stars in the industry today.
In the last couple of years he has given many hits like Golmaal 3, All The Best, Atithi Tum Kab Jaoge , Rajneeti and Once Upon A Time In Mumbai . But it is only after Singham that Ajay has decided to hike his price.
After all, Singham earned a profit of over Rs 100 crore. Speaking about the Devgn's sudden decision to hike his price, a source close to the actor said, "Ajay Devgn is someone who has a fair knowledge of the business and distribution.
He has also been involved in the distribution business for some time now. And that's the reason why he never believed in increasing his price.
He would stick to Rs 6-8 crore for his films. But after Singham, his market value has now multiplied.
And so, when he was offered Himmatwala by director Sajid Khan, he took it up at an increased fee." When contacted, Devgn's manager refrained from commenting on the same and said, "We do not like discussing finances with everybody.

One unnamed competitor said: "Now the Kardashians can spin their own stories in print." It is believed the magazine could launch this spring.
The Kardashian family are not the first reality TV stars to plan their own magazine. Last September, British former glamour model Katie Price launched a self-penned one-off publication called Katie, Announcing the venture, she said: "Everyone has an opinion of me whether good or bad.
But this is a chance to get my opinions across! I'm the chief editor, writer and picture editor so I've written all the features and chosen the photos myself. "Over the years I've been interviewed in the press hundreds of times and usually get asked the same boring questions - most of the time about plastic surgery and men, yawn - so I'm excited to show a side of me that you don't usually get a chance to see in the mags.

(less)I was the best person to direct this film: Parvin Dabas
Sahi Dhandhe Galat Bande , produced under the Very Fishy Films banner, will be his directorial debut. The movie releases on August 19.
Parvin Dabas's directorial debut Sahi Dhandhe Galat Bande to be released today Post Monsoon Wedding and Khosla Ka Ghosla , we've hardly seen you on the silver screen. What was the reason? I did about four films in the last five years which unfortunately did not do well.
I do not choose a lot of films. There is a saying in the industry that rolling mein rehna chahiye (you need to be constantly working) but I don’t believe in that and I follow my heart.
We all make wrong decisions and I've probably made a few more wrong ones than correct in my career. I am learning as I go along.
You’ve always stayed away from commercial films. Isn’t it also important to position yourself in that sphere? Commercial films like Hero did not give me satisfaction.
I am a low profile person. Though you need to be out there, I do not know the required tricks.
I have always paid more attention to trait than tricks. I’ve realized that I can be out there being myself.
How did you go about writing a film? I was working on various scripts with co-writers right after Monsoon Wedding as I did not have the confidence to write all by myself. I took the courage to work on this script.
I showed the first draft to Preeti (Jhangiani) and Anumpamji (Kher). Their encouragement has gave me confidence to make it into a film.
I did not want to handover the script to somebody else and that’s why it has been produced under our own banner. I was totally involved with the story and the characters and felt that I was the best person to direct.
I am proud of my directorial debut. What is the film about? It’s about chaar galat bandhe karne chale sahi dhandhe (four guys set out to do the right job) (Smiles).
They are four small-time goons, who break legs, kidnap people and empty houses for their boss Fauji (Sharad Saxena). Fauji gets a huge contract to get a job done.
These four guys have dreams which can be fulfilled with this money. But they have to go against their conscience to get it.
So the movie is about the critical balance of conscience and irresistible dreams. What was the idea of having new comers in the film? It may not have big stars but it has upcoming stars with a lot of talent.
Being a debut director, I did not know if I had the power to put my foot down. If I had big star on board, there could have been difference of opinions.
You stand out in the promos and the posters. Is the film solely being sold cashing on your name? Frankly speaking, I used to tell my marketing guys that let’s give all four of us an equal space but they wanted me as I am the only known face.
But I believe that it’s about four bad guys and not just one. Did you set out to make a full-fledged comedy? I made a film without keeping any genre in mind.
I consciously wanted to make an entertaining film as I like entertainment and not serious films. This is not a masala film and though it is not labelled as ‘intellectual’, I expect my audience to receive it intelligently.
How hard was it deciding to produce the film? It’s a big risk to produce a film but what’s life without risk. Becoming an actor was the biggest risk.
I was going to take my civil service exams but decided to become an actor in my last year of college. In scuba diving, I risk my life by diving into shark- fested waters; here I only risk my reputation.
Is it a short-budget film? It is a very ambitious film and people might have expected a bigger canvas. But I managed with a tight budget and by asking for a lot of favors.
A lot of money was saved thanks to personal contacts. Did anything significant happen during the making of the film? I injured my ankle in a stunt and the schedule was disrupted.
A Kushti (fight) sequence was to follow. Unfortunately we couldn’t re-schedule the scene.
At that point of time, I was afraid that the film might not get completed. But we got together and things started rolling again
(less)The wedding isn't happening soon, says Saif
Ques : There are stories that you are planning a 2012 wedding with Kareena Kapoor..
. Saif : I don't want to talk about my personal life simply because it is distracting, and the incessant talks about it can get quite annoying.
I want to come across as a serious professional and not just someone who is being talked about because of his personal life. Ques : But is the wedding happening soon? Saif : It's not happening soon Whenever it happens, we will announce it.
Ques : Aarakshan deals with a controversial topic. Were you at any point anxious while signing on for the film? Saif : No, not at all! When I read the script, I thought it was a great opportunity for me.
It is fantastic that Prakashji (film's director/producer Jha) has broached an area of political concern. These issues are inherent in India and someone has to speak about them.
Ques : And now, with so many people raising objections to the film, what are your thoughts? Saif : I don't think what is happening is right. Once the Censor Board has passed a film, without any cuts and with a U/A certificate, the least one can do is allow the film to be released.
Yes, the subject of the film and the title itself has kind of invited controversies, but since the Censor Board had no issues, I see no reason why there should be objections raised by others? We must respect their judgement. Ques : For someone like you who comes from an entirely diverse background, was it a challenge to play a Dalit? Saif : There is a certain responsibility that comes with every role.
With Aarakshan , there was a totally different kind of responsibility. Since, I was playing a Dalit and representing a certain community, I had to take special care.
I did a little bit of research. More than my background, I think it is my fair skin and my personality that could have worked against it.
But I play this guy who is academically a success, so with education comes a certain posture so that seemed fine. But generally speaking, I think you and I will never be able to understand what they have gone through, or have to go through.
Dalit children still have to clean toilets even while studying in government schools. We have no idea what's happening in some parts of our country.
Ques : Your film Agent Vinod has also been riddled with controversies..
. going over budget, then there were reports of you not getting along with the director Sriram Raghavan.
..
Saif : Agent Vinod is releasing in December. Yes, there have been all kinds of stories, which is a good thing.
It is good publicity for the film. The movie has been made well within the budget.
I am looking forward to the release of the film. As for me not getting along with Sriram, that's not true either.
Yes, we do discuss things, which is natural. Otherwise, I have implicit trust in him.
Ques : Why did you launch another film, Cocktail, even before the release of Agent Vinod ? Saif : That's because we were getting the dates of the stars at the same time. Cocktail is almost 70 per cent complete and we are looking at a February 2012 release.
Ques : You have been offered many TV shows like Master Chef, India's Got Talent etc. Why have you been turning them down? Saif : Yes, I have been offered television shows.
I wouldn't like to disclose which ones. Something or the other didn't work out.
But I am very much open to doing television. Tweet

(less)I’m not an Indian, says alex Magno
In an interview with DT, Alex shares that convincing Indians back home about his Brazilian origin is a task. Alex, who was in India, on a short trip, to train "Dance India Dance 3" contestants, spoke extensively about his interest in Indian mythology, artworks and his long-standing desire to purchase a traditional Indian chessboard.
I'm not an Indian. I'm a mix of indigenous African, Brazilian and Portuguese.
Just because I have somewhat similar features, people think I'm an Indian. I remember going to an Indian restaurant in Brazil with my Indian girlfriend and what we experienced there was amusing.
It was hard for me to convince people there that I didn't belong to their country. They kept asking me, 'Are you 100% sure you are not an Indian?'" he shares.
During his last visit to India, Alex purchased idols of Lord Shiva and Goddess Saraswati. Though he could not recall the exact area from where he purchased the idols, but he describes the process of visiting different shops as fascinating.
"I don't remember if it was Janpath, but I was quite happy to get the idols. I'm so much in awe with Goddess Saraswati that I even purchased the musical instrument Veena," he says, adding, "Since I was aware of the concept of Brahma, the creator of universe, I could apply it in Metamorphosis, the concept I used in one of Madonna's tours.
That's not all, Alex tells us why he is fond of Buddha Bar music. "Going by the maddening lives we live, it becomes important for us to either do or listen to something that can soothe us.
It is because of the calming effect of Buddha Bar music that I have grown so fond of it. I always carry a bunch of their music CDs wherever I go.
Did he also manage to buy artworks during his last trip to Delhi? "Yes, a lot of sculptures and paintings from various Indian artists. I'm a curator.
I see art in all the things and consider them to be food for my mind and heart. I have used the knowledge in writing scripts, stories and in varied dance forms.
" Is he planning to buy anything in particular on his next trip to India? "It has to be a chessboard. Even an imitation of the original chessboard would do.
A lot of people don't know that the game originated in India. I want to buy it so that I can explain people about its origin and look
(less)Manoj Bajpai refuses to slash fees for friend | Bollywood News and Gossip
Apparently, Bajpai is quoting a fee that Gupta cannot afford to pay. The other actors, John Abraham, Anil Kapoor, Vivek Overoi and Tusshar Kapoor have all slashed their remuneration by half.
Manoj’s secretary has asked for Rs 1 crore, while Sanjay Gupta’s total budget for the film is R 10 crore. While Gupta feels Bajpai is getting the role of a lifetime, the latter feels a price-cut at this stage of his career, when his solo-hero film Lanka has opened to abysmal attendance, would send out the wrong signal to prospective producers.
Bajpai says, “Of course I want to do Sabir Kaskar’s role. Which actor wouldn’t? I am ready to discuss the price.
Do you know I did Sanjay Gupta’s Acid Factory almost free of cost? My wife, who is very close to Gupta, had also put in an appearance in the film. I am not saying I won’t do it for anything less than the price I’m asking for.

(less)For Aishwarya Rai's baby, TV channels will 'behave'
Typically, such a story would be great grist for the channels. In the past anything concerning the Bachchans, whether it was Amitabh's illness, the Aiswarya-Abhishek wedding or Aishwarya Rai's Karva Chauth, all generated a great media scrum.
But now, in a bid to tone down their celebrity coverage channels have decided upon the following guideline while covering the birth of Amitabh Bachchan's grandchild: No pre-coverage of the event. Story of the birth of the baby to run only after, and on the basis of, official announcement.
Story not to run on breaking news band. No camera or OB vans at hospital or any other location (like the Bachchans' homes Pratiksha or Jalsa) related to the story.
Channels will only go for photo-op or press conference if invited. Channels will not carry any MMS or photo of the child.
We can carry if issued by the family No astrology show to be done on this issue. No 11.
11.11 astro shows to be done.
The duration of story to be around a minute/ninety seconds. Obviously, unauthorized entry into hospital not permitted.
While Amitabh Bachchan in his tweets has expressed ignorance about these rules, it is believed that one of his blog postings of a few days ago forced this rethink in the broadcast media. In his post, dated November 1, Bachchan wrote: The entire day and afternoon has been spent in laughing among ourselves and ROTF (Rolling On the Floor) on the ridiculous time and attention being given in the electronic media on the birthday of Aishwarya.
..
all of which is completely and entirely made up," before going on to detail his not-so-complimentary thoughts on the media. Cut to the quick the Broadcast Editors' Association that has over three hundred channels as its members, came up with the above mentioned guidelines.
NK Singh, general secretary of the BEA refused to discuss the media move, only saying: "The main purpose (of the guideline) is to make Indian electronic news media more value-based and purposeful for broader public cause. I cannot respond to your email per se but I can only tell you about the sublime purpose which the BEA is seeking to achieve.
" Another broadcaster who did not wish to be named, said with some asperity, "Is this self regulation or censorship? And why only for this story? Isn't it ironic that a move which seeks to curb publicity will find a mention in all the newspapers tomorrow?"

"But they're also producers of their films, like Aamir for Talaash , SRK for Don 2 , Salman for Bodyguard , Dabangg 2 . So a major portion of their remuneration comes from the revenue the movie earns," says a trade veteran.
Actresses : Reports may insinuate that Katrina Kaif was offered Rs 20 crore by Vashu Bhagnani to star in his next film but sources maintain that Kareena Kapoor is the highest paid of the lot. After being paid over Rs 3.
5 crore for Golmaal 3 , the Heroine is being paid Rs 5 crore plus a share in the profits for Heroine. But this is most likely to be a one-off instance, given the circumstances.
Directors : Rajkumar Hirani is known for a bigger hit every time, starting with Munnabhai MBBS till the mammoth 3 Idiots . Trade experts peg Hirani's fees at Rs 15 crore plus at least 25 percent of the revenue the film earns.
Writers : Abhijat Joshi, with help from Rajkumar Hirani, salvaged the position of good writers. He's the highest paid writer on the block with his paycheck bulked up to Rs 3 crore after 3 Idiots .
Production designers : This pack is clearly led by Nitin Chandrakant Desai. His fee alone is at least a crore; in addition he recommends his own ND studio, the rent of which of course, is earned separately.
Close behind is Sabu Cyril, whose take home too is over Rs 75 lakh. Cinematographers : Ravi K Chandran earned over Rs 1 crore for SRK's RA.
One . This fee may be justified by the fact that the movie cost about Rs 150 crore to make.
In the same league is Binod Pradhan, who shot films like Devdas, Rang De Basanti , but was paid a fee of Rs 1.5 crore for South star Pavan Kalyan's Puli .
"What is amazing that Binod had signed the package deal of Rs 4 crore for cinematography, including fees of his assistants," reveals a source. It is learnt that Pradhan has acquired a high-end camera and henceforth will shoot only on it.
"So now he will also charge the rent for the equipment," pointed out our source. Music composers : Without doubt, A R Rahman features on top.
The Oscar winner earns Rs 5-8 crore per film, which also include his fees for creating the background score. Pritam comes second, with about Rs 3 crore per film.
"And that works out at Rs 25 lakh per song, including fees for the singers, studio rentals etc," says our source. Sound designers : Thanks to the Oscar award, Resul Pokuttu beats everyone else in this department.
He is said to charge Rs 50 lakh per film. He also earns through rent of his studio, as he doesn't like working in any other studio.
Action directors : Though a considerable amount of the budget is set aside for an action film, the men who call the shots are paid comparatively lesser. However, they make up for it in the daily expenses, reveal our sources.
South based Peter Hein and Allan Amin, who directed the thrills for the Dhoom series, are the most expensive in their domain. They charge Rs 30 lakh per film, but to shoot with them costs an additional Rs 2.
5 lakh upwards per day for the harnesses, cables and other equipment. Choreographers : Farah Khan and Remo D'Souza, are among the highest paid choreographers along with Ganesh Hegde and Vaibhavi Merchant.
Sources peg their fees (per song) at a minimum of Rs 25 lakh, going up to Rs 50 lakh. Editors : Production sources swear by Shreekar Prasad, who edited films like Raavan , National Award winning Tamil film Kutty Shrank, Kaminey , etc.
He's believed to charge Rs 25 lakh per film, plus another R 8 lakh to cut the promos. Lyricists : Javed Akhtar takes the credit as he's said to charge Rs 10 lakh per song.
Not far behind is Prasoon Joshi, who's believed to demand Rs 8 lakh per number. Playback singers : Sonu Niigam makes the most among the male playback singers, earning a cool Rs 10 lakhs per song.
Among the females, Sunidhi Chauhan and Shreya Ghoshal rule the roost, making Rs 2.5 lakh per song.

(less)Audrey Hepburn's lucky Oscar dress up for auction
For her Oscar appearance, Hepburn had the bodice altered so that it cut straight across at the front, plunging low at the back with spaghetti straps. The lace dress will be auctioned later this month with a guide price of 40,000 to 60,000 pounds, the Daily Mail reported.
In her Oscar-winning role, Hepburn played a runaway princess who toured the Italian capital on a scooter with Gregory Peck. It was one of Head's last major projects for Hepburn, as the petite actress met couturier Hubert de Givenchy in Paris soon after.
Head was the official costume designer for her film Sabrina but Givenchy also supplied a number of dresses. When that year's Oscars were announced, however, Head was given credit for the costumes, leaving Givenchy furious.
From then on, Hepburn had it written into her contract that only Givenchy would be allowed to design her costumes. But Hepburn adored her ivory gown and called it her "lucky dress".
The actress gave the dress to her mother Ella van Heemstra, who in turn gave it to a friend living in America where she had gone to stay. Tweet

The Behind Closed Doors hitmaker says he likes women who make the first move, but can't stand arrogant girls. "I like omen to be forward.
I'm confident on stage, but I can't go up to a girl in a club. I'd rather someone let me know if they're interested or not.
They have to be blatantly obvious about it too. I hate arrogance.
I can't stand it," he added. Tweet
(less)Akon was the original choice for F1, not Gaga?
A source said, "Shah Rukh Khan wanted Akon instead of Gaga to perform at the Formula One after parties held at Arjun Rampal's lounge. The event was being held soon after the release of RA.
One , so SRK suggested Arjun, who also stars in the film, to rope in Akon. The marketing genius thought it would be a perfect opportunity to do the post-release promotions of the film.
Since the pop star has sung the Chammak Challo song, he could perform it at the party and help promote the film." "But alas! SRK's plan to kill two birds with one stone didn't work, as Akon didn't accept his offer.
Reason? The singer wasn't apparently pleased with the money offered, which was half his market price. It was only later that Arjun's team apparently decided to approach the pop diva Lady Gaga.
" Both SRK and Arjun Rampal remained unavailable for comment," the source added. Tweet
