Azim looks up to Salman, SRK and Aamir Khan
To make his character in "Qasam Se Qasam Se" appear realistic, Azim frequented call centre offices to absorb the finer nuances of the people working there. "It was quite a relevation for me as an actor.
I witnessed not only people's mannerisms but also the activities they indulge in during the break hour. Looking into the mirror, some guys would be busy ruffling their hair and taking care of their looks, while some would busy binging.
And there would others catching up with family and friends over their cell phones. This has helped shaped my character in the film.
" Azim feels that all our veteran actors were keen observers and would translate that on screen. "Whether it were the legendary actors like Dilip Kumar or the late Raj Kapoor or Dev Anand , they were schools in themselves.
I am a great fan of Salman Khan , Shah Rukh Khan and Aamir Khan and look at them as a student who looks upon his guru. I am mastering the art of acting watching their films," he smiles

(less)I never thought I'd be a desirable woman: Sameera Reddy
"My name in the list means a lot to me. As as a young girl, I never thought even in my wildest dreams that I would become a desirable woman.
I yearned for a perfect body as I was ugly duckling in school. But now that I have entered films, I believe that beauty is hidden in the imperfections of people and it all depends on how you use them.
That's my definition of desirable and I am glad to have made it to the list," says Sameera. The actor is basking in the success of her last Tamil release opposite Madhavan and has Padma Shri Priyadarshan's Tezz to look forward to.
Sameera has now decided that she will do a mix of performance-oriented and glamorous characters on screen, something that Simran and Jyothika did in Kollywood. So is the report true that Sameera wants to become the next Simran and Jyothika? "You cannot become another person.
I had said that I look up to both Simran and Jyothika, who had a mixed bag of roles- performance-oriented and cute characters. Both had their own fan following .

(less)Sherlyn Chopra likes being unconventional
Be it politics, cinema, sports, business or any other arena, women across the globe including India are in great form mentally, physically and consciously to undertake greater responsibilities and tougher challenges that are often encountered on paths less travelled." Sherlyn is also happy that she has gone from being just a pin-up girl to an entrepreneur.
Says she, "The rapid metamorphosis in my case would not have been possible had the mindsets of the majority of the people in the Hindi film industry continued to be goverened by prejudices. I look upto entrepreneurs who command respect and attention for daring to think out of the box and act accordingly.
They do not have a herd mentality. What they have is unadulterated creativity which is set on fire by courage.
" Naming films like " The Dirty Picture ", " Erin Brokovich ", " No One Killed Jessica "," The Black Swan " as cinema that has changed the way we think, Sherlyn says, "Unconventionality is no longer a taboo. It is being applauded and celebrated by both the classes and the masses.
The pulse of the youth is racing towards liberalisation. And I'm truly loving it.
" Asked why she decided to give us photographs that resembled those of the " Jism 2 " campaign, the actor quips, "I have pushed the envelope by choosing to cover my nakedness with nothing but pure consciousness."

(less)Flash mob greets Imran at New York University
"I had a blast at NYU. Everyone was so enthusiastic, they put on a very polished, confident show, and the surprise flash mob at the end was perfectly executed.
My best wishes to all the students involved," Imran said in a statement. The students had been practising for the performance for over two weeks, ahead of Imran's visit to New York as part of the promotional tour.
"As the president of NYU Dillagi, a Bollywood dance team, I knew we had to have simpler steps that the general public would be able to do and we sent videos out to the public. I thought that the flash mob came out even better than expected since people kept joining the mob throughout the sequence and it definitely surprised those that did not know of it ahead of time," Mohit Chhatpar, coordinator of the flash mob, said.
"It was really fun to be doing a flash mob and having Imran among us was all the more fun. He was very sporting and interacted with the students.
We are excited about this movie as well and are glad he could come and be among us to talk about his movie," he added. The Dharma Productions' film, also starring Kareena Kapoor, is set to hit theatres Feb 10.

(less)Mohit Suri to direct Aashiqui 2 with fresh faces
"It's been 20 years for that film. So, obviously now I will have to upgrade this story.
It will be the same realistic love story but with a modern theme," Suri told IANS. Aashiqui won critical accolades after its release at the time.
It also catapulted the careers of lead actors Rahul Roy and Anu Agarwal, who forayed into Bollywood with this film. Suri is also set to hunt for new faces for the sequel.
"I will cast fresh faces with a new boy and a new girl," said Mohit. While some are referring to Aashiqui 2 as a sequel, others are calling it a remake.
However, producer Mukesh Bhatt of Vishesh Films sets the record straight. "It is neither a sequel nor a remake.
It can be said as the musical series of Aashiqui ..
.a new generation is making this film," he said.

Katie Price is obsessed with botox

I'm not really wrinkly, anyway. I probably don't even need it.
I only do it because everyone else has it done. Botox isn't a big deal for me, it's like going shopping," she said.
The mother-of-three said that there is only one mirror in her house, in the bathroom, as she does not like the way she looks. "I cane my body like it's leather.
(I spend) 15 or 20 minutes, but my skin is quite hydrated and not as badly damaged as some people's. I don't even use the goggles," she said.

(less)Bollywood scripts huge success at Pak box office
Aamir Khan's 3 Idiots collected Rs 5 crore across the border and the Shah Rukh Khan-starrer My Name Is Khan raked in Rs 5.25 crore.
The Salman Khan-starrer Bodyguard outdid them both by earning Rs 6 crore. Another Shah Rukh-starrer, Don 2, meanwhile, is expected to pull in Rs 7.
25 crore. In fact, some experts say Pakistan is now one of Bollywood's top five overseas markets and could soon rival the business done in Australia.
The ban on Indian films was lifted across the border in 2006, but things began really hotting up a year later. Riffat Siddiqi, a well-known distributor in Pakistan, said, "From the time the market opened up in 2007, Indian films became the source for rebuilding cinema in the country.
Within just four years, the entertainment business grew by 300% at the box office." Bollywood can't ignore Pakistan now as an overseas market.
Trade pundits said the business pattern in Pakistan is similar to that of the Punjab territory in India. When the ban was lifted, the John Abraham-starrer 'Goal' was the first new Indian release to open there in November 2007.
It released with seven prints, but within two years the print run of Hindi films multiplied thrice over. '3 Idiots', released in 2009, was shown on 22 screens.
'Don 2', released in 2011, had 38 screens. Currently, there are about 80 cinema halls there and trade pundits say another 20 could be added in two years.
About 50 Hindi films release in Pakistan now every year and the big ones have the ability to do business of US $1 million (Rs 4 crore to 5 crore) or more, said Pakistani sources. All the top Khan films are sold for $200,000 to $300,000 (Rs 1 crore to 1.
5 crore). Hrithik Roshan, Saif Ali Khan and Akshay Kumar films go for $75,000 to $150,000 (Rs 37.
5 lakh to 75 lakh), said experts. India-based Amrita Pandey, of UTV Motion Pictures, said, "I think the growth has been significant -- from no release before 2007 to now, where the box office gross for an average film is $400,000 (Rs 2 crore).
With 50 Hindi films releasing there every year, Pakistan figures in the top five of the international markets." Siddiqi added, "India has six territories and Pakistan has two, Sindh and Baluchistan is one and Punjab and Frontier the other.
The growth of cinema at the moment remains in Sindh and Punjab only. Around 60% of the cinemas remain in Punjab, like in south India.
" Mahesh Ramanathan, of Reliance Entertainment, who takes the credit for tapping the Pakistan market, said that some frontier areas are now opening up. He said, "We have been at the forefront of the rapidly expanding market in Pakistan for Hindi films with '3 Idiots', 'Bodyguard' and 'Don 2' setting new marks there.
The screen count is set to increase in two to three years, he added, and "Pakistan can rival a major international market like Australia for Hindi films". Pakistan's film industry was able to release only 10 films last year, but there is a chance these numbers will go up.
Pakistani film producer Sevy Ali said, "The government has made it mandatory for every mall that is being built to have a multiplex, which will help the business of cinema grow. We only released 10 films last year, but this year there will be 20.
" Incidentally, late last year there were calls from within the Pakistani film industry and media to ban Indian films so that local efforts would get a boost. Indian film producers have to look for partners outside the country to get their films into Pakistan.
India-based Vikas Mohan, vice president of the Association of Motion Pictures and Television Programme Producers, said, "Production house are releasing their films through partners in Dubai or London. Pakistan is capable of being a territory that can generate a revenue of up to Rs 15 crore for any big film.
Unfortunately, there are still unresolved issues which deprive both sides from benefitting from the business of cinema." In the past year, the increase in multiplexes and introduction of digital cinema has boosted the business.
Nadeem Mandviwalla, of Mandviwalla Entertainment in Pakistan, said, "Digital cinema boosted the film exhibition business in Pakistan with the release of 'Ra-One' and 'Don 2'. 'Don 2's' opening week was better than other films with a business of nearly Rs 4 crore.
" Earlier, Indian films were sold in Pakistan for only a few lakhs, but now the price of big films has jumped by more than 40%. Pakistani film distributor Amjad Rashid, currently in India to buy films, said, "Today, the price for Salman Khan films is the highest in Pakistan.
Shah Rukh Khan's latest release, 'Don 2', has done record business at the box office. The buying of their films is likely to double this year.
" Bollywood's official foray into Pakistan may have been a recent occurrence, but despite the over 40-year ban, Bollywood, its icons, its music and its dancing have always remained an integral part of life in Pakistan. Yusra Askari, a mediaperson in Lahore, said, "Bollywood's impact appears everywhere, from the mainstay of a Pakistani wedding to street lingo.
" She added. "In the past decade, Bollywood-based artistic exchanges between India and Pakistan have initiated increased cultural interaction between the two countries.
Bollywood has not only gained a huge fan following in Pakistan, it has often attracted aspirants and sometimes even Pakistani cricketing icons try their luck at filmdom." Despite an increased cultural dialogue between Islamabad and Delhi, visas to travel to India may be still hard to come by for the average Pakistani, Askari added.
"Nevertheless, Pakistanis can always rely on Bollywood cinema to bring home a slice of Mumbai magic," she said. Currently about half-a-dozen actors and singers work in Bollywood films.
Rashid said, "We have only been importing films. It is high time we started exporting Pakistani television serials, which are very popular, and also the music, a high point of Pakistani culture.
I feel there is a need for India to do business with Pakistan and there should be relaxations in granting visas to artistes." Filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt, considered a cultural ambassador, added, "There is abundant talent in Pakistan crying to be discovered.
Indian cinema is moving from strength to strength. We can add new colour to our products by taking fresh talent from Pakistan.
We both stand to benefit if we partner one another and make a co-production." But there is also an opinion that the presence of Pakistani artistes won't really help a film.
Producer Ali said, "Pakistanis want to see the Khans or maybe an Akshay Kumar or Hrithik Roshan. A Pakistani actor is a novelty in India, not in Pakistan.

(less)I want to be around for 50 years: Anil Kapoor
"No one has the kind of success that I do," says Mr India, who thinks that having a lot of films in your kitty and accumulating wealth shouldn't be the sole measure for 'success'. THE GAME PLAN - LONGEVITY Friday afternoon at a suburban five star, Kapoor is busy promoting MI4: Ghost Protocol and yet people around him want the man to say 'Jhakaas' in his unique 'bindaas' sort of way.
He remains unfazed. "I am doing roles that suit my age and try to look fresh and young in those roles.
I don't want people to tell me that I should act my age. I stopped playing 20-somethings myself.
I have always done things ahead of times," Kapoor says. And that's his plan for 'longevity'.
"That's my game," says the man adding, "I don't want to be a star for just four or five years. I want to be around for 40-50 years.
To remain a star, you should do roles that are ahead of the times. Youngsters should be able to relate to it.
" What's more, he doesn't even regret not running around trees or playing the masala hero anymore. "There are younger actors who can do these things.
Let them do that." STAYING YOUNG, THANKS TO KIDS Kapoor understands the young.
Partly because of his children. "Sonam is much bigger than me.
At times when I go to an event with her, I have to stand aside. The media wants her.
I was quite taken aback. But I also feel happy.
..
proud. Kucch toh baat hai," says the doting parent.
And it's not just Sonam. "Rhea is successful too.
My son is raring to go. I feel I have come closer to my kids.
We discuss stuff as friends. Sonam helps me with my wardrobe.
She was born with a great aesthetic sense. Perhaps she has got it from my wife," Kapoor adds.

Settling back, he starts discussing his big Hollywood break and 'genuine' friend Tom. The man who did not even know who Danny Boyle was before he was offered a role in the filmmaker's Slumdog Millionaire reveals that he did not intend to become 'big or small'.
He just wanted to work. And today, he is a part of one of the biggest Hollywood franchise Mission Impossible.
Plus, he is friends with the man on the mission - Ethan Hunt aka Tom Cruise. Contrary to popular belief, it wasn't Cruise or the creators of MI4 who wanted the actor to grace India.
It was Kapoor who convinced his co-star. "Tom never asked me about India.
I constantly kept telling him about the positive aspects of India. Mauka mile toh ghus jao bas.
India bolte bolte. I made him believe that India is the best industry across the globe.
I told him about the fantastic people here. The beautiful girls.
The great actors and filmmakers. I told him 1.
1 billion people love him," reveals Kapoor. And thankfully, his prodding helped.
Tom loved India. "Tom told me, 'All my friends are jealous of me'.
He sent pictures of him at the Taj Mahal to his friends in Hollywood. To make them jealous.
For Tom, everything was 'fun'. Media - fun.
Fans - fun! He connects with the fans. He talks to them about their family.
He did not want to miss out on it," adds an excited Kapoor

(less)No prize money yet, as KBC winner Sushil Kumar is hounded
Naturally, Sushil doesn't know how to handle it. Speaking from Motihari he said, "I get letters from all over the country, and now even from abroad for financial help.
The amount requested ranges from a few thousands to Rs 5 to 6 lakh. There are letters coming from even abroad.
This morning, I got a letter from a needy Indian family in Sri Lanka. How do I know how needy they really are?" Worse, the money-seekers have started walking into Sushil's home.
The distressed man adds, "People walk in with their requests at any time of the day without warning, often when there's no male member in the house. My wife and the other ladies feel insecure.
" Speaking about the prize money that was promised to him, Sushil points out, "I haven't received a single paisa yet. Nor have I got any intimation or call from the channel as to when the money will reach me.
I don't even know how much I'll get after tax deduction, etc. Basically, I am being flooded with requests to share the fund that I don't even have.
" Sushil is very clear about whom he wants to share his money with. "Why should I give money to people I don't know? I'll use the money for causes that are dear to me.
But first my family and me need to improve our condition. Our home is yet to be repaired.
We're waiting for the money." Thankfully, Sushil said he hasn't received any extortion call, which is quite prevalent in parts of Bihar.
"Thanks to the media which has made my KBC victory a national cause, I am saved from rangdaari(extortion). But I wonder if these requests that are constantly invading my family's privacy, are not a form of rangdaari.
" He now intends to write a book on his experiences after the triumph on KBC. "Believe me, I've learnt so much about human nature in the last one month.
It would make a very interesting story," says Sushil. The channel promised to revert with details on Sushil's prize money, but they didn't.

(less)Top Television shows of 2011
Com poll result points out that Bade Acche Lagte Hain is the most popular show on TV right now. However, there have been some other close contenders as well.
Big B ruled the television scenario in 2011. KBC 5 had viewers glued to the screen when Sushil Kumar from Motihari bagged the Rs 5 crore jackpot with a record 27 million people witnessed this historic event.
The viewers empathised with a man from a small town walking away with a big bag of money. The saas-bahu sagas that once defined Indian television, however, were not overshadowed Saath Nibhana Saathiya garnered a TRP of 7 ever since it hit the small screen.
Interestingly, the generation leap, which is an inevitable trump card within soap operas, worked its magic as well. In Balika Vadhu , Anandi grew up to be a fine young woman, standing up against orthodox social norms.
Ekta Kapoor's Pavitra Rishta too rates high on the popularity charts with the highest TRP reaching 6.6.
There was gastronomic fare for the foodies as well with Master Chef India. Loyal fans remained glued to crime thrillers like CID and Crime Patrol .
Despite its popularity, Bigg Boss season 5, did not do as well as the past seasons, despite roping in adult entertainer Sunny Leone and controversial cricketer Andrew Symonds. Probably Salman Khan's blink and miss presence in this season also managed to affect the TRP ratings.
Good friend Sanjay Dutt obviously did not manage to match up to Sallu as host. Sa Re Ga Ma Pa L'il Champs winner Azmat Hussain became a household name with his talent and cheeky repartee.
Besides Bollywood stars, political crusader Anna Hazare and spiritual guru Ramdev Baba too made their TV debut with this show. Not surprisingly, the small screen was flooded with Bollywood celebs making a beeline in almost all reality shows and even fiction shows to host, judge or promote their films.
If we saw Kareena Kapoor participating in a pooja in Pavitra Rishta , Vidya Balan shook a leg with Sakshi Tanwar in Bade Achhe Lagte Hain . Mahesh Bhatt offered Sunny Leone a film inside the Bigg Boss house, Akshay and John Abraham joined the girls in a jig.

(less)Kardashian family magazine shelved
(AMI) with her request for approval on stories about her family across all their other publications, which include Shape, Star, National Enquirer and Radar Online. Though in return Kris allegedly offered to give all of the family's news to the proposed magazine, AMI rejected the deal, arguing that though E! have a deal for their television shows, other outlets often get better stories about the clan.
A source told the New York Post newspaper: "AMI chief David Pecker made it clear that there was no way he was going to tell his editors what stories they could and couldn't do." In return, Kris pulled all Kardashian-related product advertisements from Star magazine.
However, a spokesperson for the reality TV star insisted no conversation about her "demands" had taken place but she was unhappy over false claims made regarding the paternity of daughter Khloe. The representative said: "Kris has never had a conversation with AMI regarding this issue [of her demands].
But, the allegations contained in the Star article about Khloe not being a Kardashian are completely fabricated, false and untrue. Robert Kardashian is absolutely her biological father, so of course she was upset over their story.

(less)Small town India makes it big - via reality TV
5 crore ($1 million) on Kaun Banega Crorepati . The fairytale 'slumdog millionaire' come to life on that new harbinger of change - reality television.
The 27-year-old from Motihari in Bihar, who went from oblivion to fame and wealth in a matter of 13 questions on the fifth season of the quiz show, is the latest in the many talents from far flung corners of the country who have come to the national centrestage thanks to reality shows. When the show was going on air, KBC host, superstar Amitabh Bachchan, had said he wanted to reach out to people in the interiors so that viewers could get to see some of the best brains from small towns.
After Sushil Kumar's spectacular win, aired Wednesday night, Big B said: "This is what the common man is all about. This is what KBC is all about - given an opportunity, the common man has the strength, the ability and the acumen to prove to the world that he is the best and second to none.
" Last month, The Suresh & Vernon Group won India's Got Talent 3 . The group of 30 youngsters from Mumbai suburbs like Vasai, Virar and Nala Sopara were from lower middle class backgrounds and danced their way to the TRPs.
Another rags to riches story was of the Prince Dance Troupe from the backlanes of Berhampur, Orissa. The unlikely stars, including daily wage labourers and two polio-stricken children, won an earlier season of India's Got Talent and even got to perform at the opening ceremony of the Commonwealth Games.
The trend began in the late 1990s with shows such as Meri Awaz Suno on Doordarshan and Zee TV's Hero Honda Sa Re Ga Ma . Singers like Sunidhi Chauhan and Shreya Ghosal first showcased their talent on these shows before going on to make it big in Bollywood, the ultimate dream of every artist.
Thanks to their success stories, reality shows became a rage in small towns. More aspirational than just an entertainment show.
Many talents found their spot in the sun - Sony's Indian Idol turned Abhijeet Sawant into a celebrity post his win while the second season winner Sandeep Acharya from Bikaner in Rajasthan too became well-known. There was also Prashant Tamang from Darjeeling, Amit Paul from Shillong, Emon Chatterjee from Kolkata and Antara Mitra from Maslandapur in West Bengal.
Debojit Saha, a struggling singer from Silchar, Assam, got a new lease of life after winning Zee's Sa Re Ga Ma Pa , as did Raja Hassan, Tochi Raina and Harshit Saxena. With time, reality shows have become bigger and better with X-Factor , Dance India Dance and MasterChef India vying for TRPs along with the staple prime time soaps.
Not just reality TV producers, filmmakers are also walking the dusty hinterland paths in search of talent. "It's a huge country and there is huge talent out there.
We need to make it accessible to people who don't have access to come to Mumbai. I feel there is so much talent in the rest of the country which needs to explored.
We want to try and do it through my film Chauranga ," Onir, the maker of films like My Brother Nikhil , told IANS. Exploring the country's interiors for stories and talent is the need of the hour for Bollywood, agreed filmmaker Dibakar Banerjee.
"I think there's so much within India, in the interiors of India. There is a large pool of talent in the country and so many local stories waiting to be told," the man behind acclaimed movies like Khosla Ka Ghosla said.
But yes, it is a treacherous path. "I think reality shows give you this opportunity and platform.
It can give you that initial visibility towards success in the industry, but at the end of the day what sustains you is sheer talent," Bollywood singer Sunidhi told IANS. Tweet

(less)Kardashians to launch magazine
- who currently own numerous publications, including Star, National Enquirer and Shape - for their own print media outlet, which would feature heavy involvement from sisters Kim, Khloe and Kourtney and their mother Kris Jenner, though an independent editor would be appointed. A source told the New York Post newspaper: "This is a Kardashian idea.
They have been reaching out to several media outlets." The plan has come in for some criticism, with rival publishers arguing it can give the family further control over their media coverage.
One unnamed competitor said: "Now the Kardashians can spin their own stories in print." It is believed the magazine could launch this spring.
The Kardashian family are not the first reality TV stars to plan their own magazine. Last September, British former glamour model Katie Price launched a self-penned one-off publication called Katie, Announcing the venture, she said: "Everyone has an opinion of me whether good or bad.
But this is a chance to get my opinions across! I'm the chief editor, writer and picture editor so I've written all the features and chosen the photos myself. "Over the years I've been interviewed in the press hundreds of times and usually get asked the same boring questions - most of the time about plastic surgery and men, yawn - so I'm excited to show a side of me that you don't usually get a chance to see in the mags.

(less)Sanjay Leela Bhansali gets into TV soaps
Having started off his career filming in 72 mm, Bhansali has now decided to create his brand of shows for the small screen, reveal sources. According to sources from the industry, Sanjay Leela Bhansali, who is venturing into TV production has signed a 3-year contract with a leading channel for a daily soap of about 500 episodes.
A source informed Mumbai Mirror, "After being part of various reality shows as a judge (Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa in 2006, X Factor in 2011), Sanjay Leela Bhansali now feels that the TV business is a very viable proposition." "Sanjay is already in talks with a leading general entertainment channel (GEC) for the production of a couple of shows.
It won't be long before his first TV show goes on air," added the source. Sources reveal that the infrastructure for the filmmaker's TV production unit is already underway.
"These new plans for television production is perhaps the only reason why Bhansali hasn't announced his next film after Guzaarish yet. Sanjay is a very creative person.
He wouldn't have waited for so long to announce his next project." said the source.
"But now he is ready with a new script for his next film as well," the source added. Like his films, Sanjay's television shows too will be on a big scale, reveal sources.
"Bhansali has really big plans for television. His production values will be a treat," informed the source.
Despite repeated attempts, Bhansali remained unavailable for comment

" Humphries told TMZ he was "devastated" to learn his bride had filed for divorce and is "willing to do whatever it takes to make it work." The filing in Los Angeles County Superior Court provided few details, other than to state the couple have a prenuptial agreement that will dictate how they divide up their assets.
Kardashian is asking that both sides pay their own attorneys' costs and that a judge terminate Humphries' rights to spousal support. Kardashian, 31, and Humphries, 26, were wed Aug.

It was the first marriage for Humphries, who last played for the NBA's New Jersey Nets, and the second for Kardashian, who was married to music producer Damon Thomas from 2000 to 2004.

" Entertainment media have breathlessly reported every available detail on the relationship since it began, including signs of trouble earlier this month. Court filings show that Kardashian signed the petition on Sunday.
Meanwhile, Kardashian appeared to be getting on with her life on Monday, tweeting that she was looking forward to Tuesday's opening of her Kardashian Khaos fashion boutique in Las Vegas. "We are so excited!! Kardashian Khaos has arrived!," said the message.
Kardashian's divorce attorney, Laura Wasser, did not return a phone message seeking comment. Humphries' sports agent, Marc Cornstein, also did not return a phone message.

(less)Juhi Parmar wins Bigg Boss 5, takes home Rs.1 crore
The Kumkum fame actress, who was among the first 13 contestants to enter the house Oct 2, 2011, pipped actress Mahek Chahal and Siddharth Bhardwaj to win the show, which was described as high on fights and low on entertainment quotient by season three participant, actor-filmmaker Kamaal R. Khan.
She is the second female contestant to win the show, as Shweta Tiwari had taken away the trophy in the last season. Juhi, 31, had earlier participated in other reality shows - Pati Patni Aur Woh and Maa Exchange and was seen indulging in lots of arguments, but in Bigg Boss , she played the game more patiently.
Many inmates and viewers were not so happy with Juhi's friendship with her inmate Akashdeep Saigal aka Sky, who got embroiled in the ugliest fights on the show, but it didn't stop her from winning the show. Others in the top five included Amar Upadhyay and Sky.
Juhi too had her share of arguments with contestants like Shraddha Sharma, Amar, Siddharth and Mahek, but at the same time she enjoyed a good friendship with Raageshwari Loomba, Pooja Bedi, Indo-Canadian porn star Sunny Leone as well as Sky. What made her stand out was her patience and quality of lending everybody a patient ear in the Bigg Boss 5 , which was co-hosted by Sanjay Dutt and Salman Khan.
The finale was graced by actor Imran Khan and filmmaker Karan Johar, who came to promote their forthcoming film Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu . Johar had expressed that he wanted Juhi to win the show, and that his mother, Hiroo Johar, a fan of the show, feels that she was the most promising contender for the winner's trophy.
The prediction came true. Juhi was ecstatic to see her husband, TV actor Sachin Shroff, her parents and her mother-in-law upon her exit from the secluded house, where she spent 98 days without being connected with anything or anyone outside the four parapets of the house.
The finale saw several performances, including those by Sunny, Malaika Arora, Pooja Missra, Rakhi Sawant, transgender activist Laxmi Narayan Tripathi and Shonali. Even Shakti Kapoor danced with all the girls who entered Bigg Boss 5 - bringing the show to a full circle.
Malaika added spice to the finale by dancing on numbers like Chhaiya chhaiya , Chhammak chhallo and Honth raseele while Rakhi grooved to Chikni chameli . Salman and Sanjay too shook a leg together, making it a treat for the audience.
Bigg Boss 5 began with an eclectic mix of celebrities - controversial models, actresses, a wrestler, as well as a proud transgender. The season saw former Miss Afghanistan Vida Samadzai, who was banned in the country for wearing a bikini; Nihita Biswas, wife of Bikini Killer Charles Sobhraj, VJ Pooja Missra, actress Pooja Bedi, model-actress Shonali, popular host Mandeep Bevli, and Rajasthani folk dancer Gulabo Sapera.
Woman wrestler Sonika Kaliraman was also seen on the show, but she left within a week of her entry as she was pregnant. Laxmi also added drama to the season, while guest appearances were made by social activist Swami Agnivesh, Australian cricketer Andrew Symonds and sumo wrestler Yamamotoyama.

TOM LOVED INDIA About time to get hungry. Ever-energetic Anil goes to the counter and orders grilled chicken sandwiches for everyone.
(less)Deepika Padukone to race ahead in 2012?
On the eve of Deepika Padukone's birthday, let's see what the future holds for the sexy siren in 2012. Astro-numerologist Bhavikk Sangghvi analyzes, "Deepika was born on 5th January, 1986 which makes her a Number 5 (Mercury) person in numerology.
She is a Capricorn (ruler Saturn - Number 8) and her destiny number adds up to Number 3 ( Jupiter )". "Being ruled by Number 5 (Mercury), Deepika is upright frank , honest in her speeches, talkative, communicative and very adamant in her decisions.
With the influence of Saturn (Number 8), she has really worked hard to achieve what she has and she is proud of the fact that she has made it on her own terms at such a young age. Being also ruled by Number 3 (Jupiter) ensures that she is very practical as far as money is concerned and would work only on her terms.
No wonder she is paid much more than any other actress in her league - be it films, endorsements, fashion shows etc", explains Bhavikk further. "Deepika will now be entering the 27th year of her life and since she is primarily ruled by Number 5, she will have a decent 2012.
On the film front, her next film which is a Saif Ali Khan production (tentatively titled 'Cocktail') and Ayan Mukherji's next where she is starring opposite ex beau Ranbir Kapoor is most likely to do well. Even in 'Race 2', her role will be a meatier one amongst the ensemble cast.
But 'Rana', where she's paired opposite superstar Rajnikanth, will prove to be a damp squib at the box office", he adds further. "One more negative aspect in her life could be her break off with current boy friend Siddharth Mallya as they make a completely incompatible couple as there is simply no chemistry between Number 5 (Mercury) and Number 7 (Ketu - Sidhartha - 7th May 1987) and what you see now (they seem to be madly in love), all may just perish in to thin air".
"Wearing a Yellow Sapphire (above 4 carats) set in gold on her right hand index finger on a Thursday evening (one hour before sunset ) will help her deal with this much more strongly and make sure she remains clear and focused when it comes to such decisions of life", signs off Bhavikk on an advisory note

Penna is said to have turned up at her home clutching a ring and begged for a second chance. Price is said to have told a friend: "Leandro came to mine on Christmas Day and asked me to marry him.
It was a massive shock and completely out of the blue. I don't know what to do.
" The friend told thesun.co.
uk, "For once Katie actually sounded a little guilty. Leo is desperate to get back together with her and doesn't care she has been pictured out with other men since they broke up.
He holds a flame for her and obviously believes asking for her hand in marriage will sweep her off her feet. Unfortunately he does not feature in Katie's plans.
" However, a spokesman for Jordan said: "She remains single." Tweet
(less)For Aishwarya Rai's baby, TV channels will 'behave'
Typically, such a story would be great grist for the channels. In the past anything concerning the Bachchans, whether it was Amitabh's illness, the Aiswarya-Abhishek wedding or Aishwarya Rai's Karva Chauth, all generated a great media scrum.
But now, in a bid to tone down their celebrity coverage channels have decided upon the following guideline while covering the birth of Amitabh Bachchan's grandchild: No pre-coverage of the event. Story of the birth of the baby to run only after, and on the basis of, official announcement.
Story not to run on breaking news band. No camera or OB vans at hospital or any other location (like the Bachchans' homes Pratiksha or Jalsa) related to the story.
Channels will only go for photo-op or press conference if invited. Channels will not carry any MMS or photo of the child.
We can carry if issued by the family No astrology show to be done on this issue. No 11.
11.11 astro shows to be done.
The duration of story to be around a minute/ninety seconds. Obviously, unauthorized entry into hospital not permitted.
While Amitabh Bachchan in his tweets has expressed ignorance about these rules, it is believed that one of his blog postings of a few days ago forced this rethink in the broadcast media. In his post, dated November 1, Bachchan wrote: The entire day and afternoon has been spent in laughing among ourselves and ROTF (Rolling On the Floor) on the ridiculous time and attention being given in the electronic media on the birthday of Aishwarya.
..
all of which is completely and entirely made up," before going on to detail his not-so-complimentary thoughts on the media. Cut to the quick the Broadcast Editors' Association that has over three hundred channels as its members, came up with the above mentioned guidelines.
NK Singh, general secretary of the BEA refused to discuss the media move, only saying: "The main purpose (of the guideline) is to make Indian electronic news media more value-based and purposeful for broader public cause. I cannot respond to your email per se but I can only tell you about the sublime purpose which the BEA is seeking to achieve.
" Another broadcaster who did not wish to be named, said with some asperity, "Is this self regulation or censorship? And why only for this story? Isn't it ironic that a move which seeks to curb publicity will find a mention in all the newspapers tomorrow?"

"Have asked channel to state reason I cannot be there at finale to cheer my friends on! Also, till yesterday I was to do a medley! What changed?" After being evicted from the house, Pooja had accused the show of favouritism and said Bigg Boss 5 host Salman Khan had "demoralised" her fellow inmate and friend, Akashdeep Saigal aka Sky.
She also alleged that Salman was supporting another contestant Mahek Chahal inside the house. Pooja also quoted a tabloid report saying that actor Hrithik Roshan is also not being allowed to promote his forthcoming film Agneepath on the show.
Instead, Imran Khan would be attending the finale to promote his upcoming film. "Hrithik not allowed in #BB5 finale! Guess I'm not the only victim! Wow!" The finale of the reality show is to be held on Saturday.

(less)Kim Kardashian files for divorce after 10 weeks
"I hope everyone understands this was not an easy decision," she said in a statement. "I had hoped this marriage was forever but sometimes things don't work out as planned.
20 in a star-studded, black-tie ceremony at an exclusive canyon estate in the seaside enclave of Montecito, Calif., near Santa Barbara.
The couple's wedding registry at a Beverly Hills jeweler totaled $172,000 and included such items as a $1,650 coffee pot and two $1,250 sterling silver vegetable spoons. It was the first marriage for Humphries, who last played for the NBA's New Jersey Nets, and the second for Kardashian, who was married to music producer Damon Thomas from 2000 to 2004.
Kardashian's sisters and TV co-stars Kourtney Kardashian, 32, and Khloe Kardashian, 27, served as co-maids of honor. Kim Kardashian and Humphries began dating late last year and announced their engagement in May.
He proposed on bended knee with a 20.5-carat ring by spelling out "Will you marry me?" in rose petals.
The couple's marriage was the subject of a two-part special on E! Entertainment Television, which televises Kardashian's show that follows the model and her family. The special aired Oct.
9 and 10, two months after the ceremony, prompting online card company someecards.com to offer a greeting last summer that read: "Here's hoping Kim Kardashian's marriage lasts until her wedding special airs in October.

(less)Rockstar: Movie Review
If we go by this theory, most audiences of this film will walk out of the hall as rockstars, since the movie will largely leave them heartbroken. But for heartbreak, it is imperative to fall in love first and that's exactly what director Imtiaz Ali does.
He starts off the film on a promising note and just when you fall in love with the amazing first half, the narrative nosedives with a stagnant second half. So you have the naive Janardhan Jakhar (Ranbir Kapoor) who aspires to be a rockstar like Jim Morrison .
His yearning for heartbreak gets him close to Heer (Nargis Fakhri), as they bond over soft-porn cinema and country liquor. Soon after, the girl is married off to some NRI, the boy is thrown out of his house, he seeks solace in a dargah and next you know he's a singing sensation rechristened as Jordan.
A foreign tour reunites him with Heer and their passive passion rekindles until Jordan is obsessed with her. What follows is another tribute to Devdas or rather Dev.
D with the neurotic, lovelorn protagonist unable to get over his mixed emotions and confused definition of love. But that's not all as the plot meanders to culminate into an undesired arena of Erich Segal's Love Story .
Imtiaz Ali is known for his old-wine-in-new-bottle brand of cinema. Rockstar is very much engaging as far as it is in that familiar territory, where the director adds a refreshing touch to the regular romance drama.
The casual chemistry that he induces between the lead pair through their wacky and eventful escapades has its moments of charm. The passion-play between them when they reunite after years is spontaneous, smoldering and yet tastefully achieved.
Their reunion is also faintly reminiscent of the Jab We Met reunion, where the character-conduct is reversed with the burbling boy now trying to make the gloomy girl's life more exciting. And like Love Aaj Kal , Imtiaz Ali kick-starts the film with a montage song highlighting select significant sequences from the entire film.
But beyond that when the director ventures into uncharted zone, the narrative loses track. While one can still overlook the Dev.
D influenced intoxicating attitude of the proceedings (which you can somehow attribute to the convoluted rockstar protagonist), the subsequent terminal illness conflict takes the film towards an unwelcome and undefined end. After an interesting graph to the narrative in the first half, the story almost turns stationary in the second half.
The screenplay seems stretched and gets monotonous with repetitive media-bashing scenes and flashback shots of what has been already served to you. Another problem with the plot is that it is neither a standalone story about the rise-of-an-underdog who becomes the biggest rockstar nor is it merely a love story with a rockstar backdrop.
The director somewhere attempts to correlate the rockstar's rise with his romance but isn't able to achieve that impeccably. In fact the original one-liner plot with which the movie starts (a painful heartbreak gets out the real artist inside you) goes for a complete toss by the end.
One can never clearly perceive when Jordan's heart is broken in the assorted scheme of events and that's where the film loses objectivity. The storytelling pattern of the film is needlessly intricate for a simple romance-drama genre.
While it is very much linear, the frequent use of multiple montages can have you confused. Initially the montages aid brisk storytelling but subsequently there are so much of them that it gets puzzling.
Editing the film would surely have been a difficult task. Anil Mehta's cinematography is brilliant as he captures the beauty of Kashmir, Italy and Delhi with panache.
AR Rahman's wide range of music has numbers which are instantly infectious ( Sadda Haq ) and others that take time to grow on you. If Rockstar keeps you engaged even after you have given up on the story by the end, it is only because of Ranbir Kapoor.
From his innocence in the opening reels to his arrogance in the climax, Ranbir breathes life into Jordan and keeps you riveted. Whether he adlibs his songs, gives a dance-tribute to Shammi Kapoor or dictates the concert crowd, Ranbir gives cent percent to his character.
How much ever you try to ignore, but Nargis Fakhri fervently reminds of Katrina Kaif through her looks, acting, lip movements (and seemingly also has the same voice dubbing artist). Nevertheless she is likeable and shares good chemistry with Ranbir.
Kumud Mishra as Jordan's advisor-turned-manager is impressive. Aditi Rao Hydari is confident but marred by a short-lived character.
Piyush Mishra makes for an animated-yet-interesting negative lead. And it's pleasing to see Shammi Kapoor is his last decent cameo.
Rockstar rocks you but only partially thanks to the star called Ranbir Kapoor. Verdict: Above Average

(less)Bollywood's highest paid stars
"But they're also producers of their films, like Aamir for Talaash , SRK for Don 2 , Salman for Bodyguard , Dabangg 2 . So a major portion of their remuneration comes from the revenue the movie earns," says a trade veteran.
Actresses : Reports may insinuate that Katrina Kaif was offered Rs 20 crore by Vashu Bhagnani to star in his next film but sources maintain that Kareena Kapoor is the highest paid of the lot. After being paid over Rs 3.
5 crore for Golmaal 3 , the Heroine is being paid Rs 5 crore plus a share in the profits for Heroine. But this is most likely to be a one-off instance, given the circumstances.
Directors : Rajkumar Hirani is known for a bigger hit every time, starting with Munnabhai MBBS till the mammoth 3 Idiots . Trade experts peg Hirani's fees at Rs 15 crore plus at least 25 percent of the revenue the film earns.
Writers : Abhijat Joshi, with help from Rajkumar Hirani, salvaged the position of good writers. He's the highest paid writer on the block with his paycheck bulked up to Rs 3 crore after 3 Idiots .
Production designers : This pack is clearly led by Nitin Chandrakant Desai. His fee alone is at least a crore; in addition he recommends his own ND studio, the rent of which of course, is earned separately.
Close behind is Sabu Cyril, whose take home too is over Rs 75 lakh. Cinematographers : Ravi K Chandran earned over Rs 1 crore for SRK's RA.
One . This fee may be justified by the fact that the movie cost about Rs 150 crore to make.
In the same league is Binod Pradhan, who shot films like Devdas, Rang De Basanti , but was paid a fee of Rs 1.5 crore for South star Pavan Kalyan's Puli .
"What is amazing that Binod had signed the package deal of Rs 4 crore for cinematography, including fees of his assistants," reveals a source. It is learnt that Pradhan has acquired a high-end camera and henceforth will shoot only on it.
"So now he will also charge the rent for the equipment," pointed out our source. Music composers : Without doubt, A R Rahman features on top.
The Oscar winner earns Rs 5-8 crore per film, which also include his fees for creating the background score. Pritam comes second, with about Rs 3 crore per film.
"And that works out at Rs 25 lakh per song, including fees for the singers, studio rentals etc," says our source. Sound designers : Thanks to the Oscar award, Resul Pokuttu beats everyone else in this department.
He is said to charge Rs 50 lakh per film. He also earns through rent of his studio, as he doesn't like working in any other studio.
Action directors : Though a considerable amount of the budget is set aside for an action film, the men who call the shots are paid comparatively lesser. However, they make up for it in the daily expenses, reveal our sources.
South based Peter Hein and Allan Amin, who directed the thrills for the Dhoom series, are the most expensive in their domain. They charge Rs 30 lakh per film, but to shoot with them costs an additional Rs 2.
5 lakh upwards per day for the harnesses, cables and other equipment. Choreographers : Farah Khan and Remo D'Souza, are among the highest paid choreographers along with Ganesh Hegde and Vaibhavi Merchant.
Sources peg their fees (per song) at a minimum of Rs 25 lakh, going up to Rs 50 lakh. Editors : Production sources swear by Shreekar Prasad, who edited films like Raavan , National Award winning Tamil film Kutty Shrank, Kaminey , etc.
He's believed to charge Rs 25 lakh per film, plus another R 8 lakh to cut the promos. Lyricists : Javed Akhtar takes the credit as he's said to charge Rs 10 lakh per song.
Not far behind is Prasoon Joshi, who's believed to demand Rs 8 lakh per number. Playback singers : Sonu Niigam makes the most among the male playback singers, earning a cool Rs 10 lakhs per song.
Among the females, Sunidhi Chauhan and Shreya Ghoshal rule the roost, making Rs 2.5 lakh per song.
"And of course, the singers make extra moolah by singing those songs in shows." Tweet

(less)Aamir Khan snubs Shah Rukh
Now, the rivalry has been taken up a notch. Aamir Khan has apparently refused to be a part of UTV Star's show Live My Life , which tracks a celeb's life for a day, simply because it is being produced by SRK's Red Chillies Entertainment! "They wanted to kickstart the show with Aamir because the concept of the show has been generating a lot of attention, and obviously a big name would give it that much of a boost.
Aamir is doing so well these days that he couldn't have been a better name to commence the show with. But unfortunately things did not work out," says a source.
Interestingly, no one thought Aamir would refuse the show as he has a very good relationship with the company. In fact, some of the actor's biggest films have been co-produced by UTV.
But apparently after initially agreeing to be part of Live My Life, the deal fell through when he learnt of SRK's involvement. The last time we saw the actors on one platform was at the premiere of Aamir's Three Idiots in 2009, where both of them maintained that all is well.
But, clearly, with all three Khans (the third being Salman, of course) being at loggerheads when it comes to films, it's not a surprise that it trickles down to other areas of work, too. However, our source claims, "Imran Khan is part of the show now, so I guess that was not really a problem.
Aamir has been pretty busy with his own TV show that he hasn't had the time to look elsewhere." Tweet
