This time, he told Ashtavinayak, the producers of Golmaal 3, that he wanted the entire fourth floor of the Sitara Hotel booked for the actors, director Rohit Shetty and producer Dhaval (from Ashtavinayak). That's not all.
Adds the source, "All the rooms share a common corridor, where the stars meet every evening after pack-up every night. Chairs and tables are set up there.
The actors go to the gym, freshen up and enjoy a few drinks in the corridor to unwind. Most nights, it's Ajay, Rohit, Tusshar Kapoor, Mithun and Kareena who sit down over dinner.
Sometimes they are joined by Arshad Warsi, Shreyas Talpade and Kunal Khemu. Mithun has been cooking healthy food for all of them at the hotel kitchen.
On Saturday night, he cooked mutton for them." But now that Kajol and Nysa have come down to spend a few days with Ajay, party activities have been curbed a bit because when his family is there, he has no time for anyone else.

Ajay wanted them to party together at the same place after pack-up."That's not all.

Azim looks up to Salman, SRK and Aamir Khan
To make his character in "Qasam Se Qasam Se" appear realistic, Azim frequented call centre offices to absorb the finer nuances of the people working there. "It was quite a relevation for me as an actor.
I witnessed not only people's mannerisms but also the activities they indulge in during the break hour. Looking into the mirror, some guys would be busy ruffling their hair and taking care of their looks, while some would busy binging.
And there would others catching up with family and friends over their cell phones. This has helped shaped my character in the film.
" Azim feels that all our veteran actors were keen observers and would translate that on screen. "Whether it were the legendary actors like Dilip Kumar or the late Raj Kapoor or Dev Anand , they were schools in themselves.
I am a great fan of Salman Khan , Shah Rukh Khan and Aamir Khan and look at them as a student who looks upon his guru. I am mastering the art of acting watching their films," he smiles

(less)I never thought I'd be a desirable woman: Sameera Reddy
"My name in the list means a lot to me. As as a young girl, I never thought even in my wildest dreams that I would become a desirable woman.
I yearned for a perfect body as I was ugly duckling in school. But now that I have entered films, I believe that beauty is hidden in the imperfections of people and it all depends on how you use them.
That's my definition of desirable and I am glad to have made it to the list," says Sameera. The actor is basking in the success of her last Tamil release opposite Madhavan and has Padma Shri Priyadarshan's Tezz to look forward to.
Sameera has now decided that she will do a mix of performance-oriented and glamorous characters on screen, something that Simran and Jyothika did in Kollywood. So is the report true that Sameera wants to become the next Simran and Jyothika? "You cannot become another person.

Be it politics, cinema, sports, business or any other arena, women across the globe including India are in great form mentally, physically and consciously to undertake greater responsibilities and tougher challenges that are often encountered on paths less travelled." Sherlyn is also happy that she has gone from being just a pin-up girl to an entrepreneur.
Says she, "The rapid metamorphosis in my case would not have been possible had the mindsets of the majority of the people in the Hindi film industry continued to be goverened by prejudices. I look upto entrepreneurs who command respect and attention for daring to think out of the box and act accordingly.
They do not have a herd mentality. What they have is unadulterated creativity which is set on fire by courage.
" Naming films like " The Dirty Picture ", " Erin Brokovich ", " No One Killed Jessica "," The Black Swan " as cinema that has changed the way we think, Sherlyn says, "Unconventionality is no longer a taboo. It is being applauded and celebrated by both the classes and the masses.
The pulse of the youth is racing towards liberalisation. And I'm truly loving it.
" Asked why she decided to give us photographs that resembled those of the " Jism 2 " campaign, the actor quips, "I have pushed the envelope by choosing to cover my nakedness with nothing but pure consciousness."

(less)Flash mob greets Imran at New York University
"I had a blast at NYU. Everyone was so enthusiastic, they put on a very polished, confident show, and the surprise flash mob at the end was perfectly executed.
My best wishes to all the students involved," Imran said in a statement. The students had been practising for the performance for over two weeks, ahead of Imran's visit to New York as part of the promotional tour.
"As the president of NYU Dillagi, a Bollywood dance team, I knew we had to have simpler steps that the general public would be able to do and we sent videos out to the public. I thought that the flash mob came out even better than expected since people kept joining the mob throughout the sequence and it definitely surprised those that did not know of it ahead of time," Mohit Chhatpar, coordinator of the flash mob, said.
"It was really fun to be doing a flash mob and having Imran among us was all the more fun. He was very sporting and interacted with the students.
We are excited about this movie as well and are glad he could come and be among us to talk about his movie," he added. The Dharma Productions' film, also starring Kareena Kapoor, is set to hit theatres Feb 10.

"It's been 20 years for that film. So, obviously now I will have to upgrade this story.
It will be the same realistic love story but with a modern theme," Suri told IANS. Aashiqui won critical accolades after its release at the time.
It also catapulted the careers of lead actors Rahul Roy and Anu Agarwal, who forayed into Bollywood with this film. Suri is also set to hunt for new faces for the sequel.
"I will cast fresh faces with a new boy and a new girl," said Mohit. While some are referring to Aashiqui 2 as a sequel, others are calling it a remake.
However, producer Mukesh Bhatt of Vishesh Films sets the record straight. "It is neither a sequel nor a remake.
It can be said as the musical series of Aashiqui ..

Will Katrina or Kareena win the Khan race?
According to sources, Rohit Shetty has approached Salman Khan's ex-girl for his next action film starring SRK. Katrina will however have to fight it out with Kareena Kapoor , a Rohit Shetty favourite, before she bags the coveted project.
A source close to Rohit revealed to Mumbai Mirror, "Katrina Kaif is at an all time career high. Currently, she is working with the three biggest Khans - Shah Rukh, Salman and Aamir.
Rohit Shetty's action film that goes on floors in May next year will be her fourth consecutive film with a Khan." Though, Katrina would surely set a record if she bags the role in question, it wouldn't come easy.
According to another source, Kareena Kapoor, too is in the running to be cast opposite her G.One.
"Kareena has worked with SRK in Asoka and RA.One.
She shares a good on-screen chemistry with him. Also, director Rohit Shetty is very fond of her.
She has been his chosen one for the successful Golmaal franchise. She is the obvious choice for the project," said the source.
Despite Kareena being a strong contender for the role, a section of the industry believes that Katrina's friendship with Rohit Shetty might just pay off. "Katrina is working with SRK in Yash Chopra's film.
She has become good friends with the actor as well. She might have been recommended by him as well," added the source.
Rohit Shetty, on the other hand who was earlier planning to remake the 1982 comedy with SRK, had decided to cast Kareena in the same. After RA.
One, when SRK decided to continue with the action genre, Shetty dropped his plans to remake Angoor. "When Rohit decided to make an action film with Shah Rukh, he decided to change his heroine as well.
Earlier he wanted Kareena to portray the role played by Moushumi Chatterjee in the original Angoor. But with the change in the script, he decided upon Katrina Kaif ," revealed Rohit's friend.
The source close to Kareena, however maintained, "Kareena is very keen to work with Rohit again. And Rohit too will want his successful heroine back.

(less)Rockstar no-show leads to high drama
But hua kya? The "Rockstar" team, which included Imtiaz, Ranbir, Nargis Fakhri, Ranbir's trainer Pradeep, his bodyguard and several others, visited Lucknow on Friday to promote the film. According to the itinerary given to the mall management, the team was supposed to visit Phoenix Mall in the Alambagh area of the city twice on the same day - once in the morning for a short stage performance and a press conference, and then later in the evening at 8.
30 for the launch of a lounge in the mall. For this, the team had apparently been paid close to `10 lakh, which included 14 business class air tickets, 18 regular air tickets, rooms at a five-star hotel and `1.
25 lakh later, after they had arrived at the mall. Apparently, the producers, Shree Ashtavinayak Cine Vision, had delegated the coordination of the team's promotional visits across the country to a company run by a lady named Roshan Ara, who in turn, gave it to a Delhi-based PR called Danny, who subleased it to two guys called Chaitanya and Dishant.
After the mall appearance, Imtiaz and Ranbir had planned to go and have kebab-paranthas at a famous shop in Lucknow. However, upon landing in Lucknow, they went to the parantha shop first, and then to the mall.
At the mall, they all said a few words, Ranbir distributed the "Sadda Haq" T-Shirts, and within five minutes, the team had left for the airport. The "Rockstar" team was to take a 6.
40pm flight to Delhi. Meanwhile, the mall's senior manager, marketing, Namrata Kapoor, followed the team right up to the airport and amid much drama and chasing around, threatened to prevent their departure from Lucknow if they did not refund the mall's `10 lakh.
She also lodged a formal complaint with the police, and bought air tickets to enter the waiting area and confront Imtiaz. By then, the police had also arrived.
Imtiaz then apparently intervened and sorted out the matter, promising to have all the money owed to the mall refunded. Finally, the team was able to leave for Delhi, after having delayed the flight.
All sorted out? At around midnight on Friday, Chaitanya spoke to us and told us that he had been "locked up" by the mall's management and they were harassing him and asking for a refund. "I'm going to die in half an hour," he said in a dramatic phone call to DT, adding, "Save me!" However, Priyank Tayal of Phoenix Mall told us, "We have not kept him 'locked up'.
We were told by Chaitanya that the team would visit the mall twice on the same day, but they did not. In fact, they only came for five minutes.
So, we asked for a refund. Chaitanya's partner, Dishant, told us that he's arranged for `5 lakh and then left the mall to get it, while Chaitanya stayed back.
We even met Imtiaz and Roshan, and they said they would ensure that all our money is refunded. We have sorted things out with everyone.
" Roshan also said, "It's Chaitanya who is at fault. He overcommitted to the mall management on our behalf; we knew nothing of it.
He took money from the mall in our name. But Imtiaz and I have promised the mall that we'll ensure they get their money back soon.
" By midnight, in fact, Chaitanya himself had changed his version, confirming that he was in fact having a comradely pizza with Tayal, and in a swift U-turn, claimed that he had earlier "lied" about being "locked up". What Imtiaz says When asked about the whole fiasco, Imtiaz, while boarding the flight to Delhi, told us, "It's very unfortunate that this has happened.
I, on behalf of the whole team, apologise, and will try and make up for it if I can. I will try and bring the team to Lucknow again after the movie has been released.
" He added, "We don't know who's responsible. When a film is made, so many people are involved.
If any one of them misrepresents us, I am not responsible. I feel bad for whatever has happened.
It's unfortunate and I hope that Lucknow's people will forgive us..
. I told our reps categorically that if it wasn't done within five minutes, I'd pay the money from my own account.

The National Award-winning actor was returning home after a Diwali party when the Mercedes Benz he was driving rammed a car, injuring three members of a family, on Thursday morning. The actor was at the wheel when his car hit the Wagon R of the Darira family who were on their way to Matheran.
The four members of the Darira family - Deepak Darera (60), his wife Kaanta (56), and daughters Sneha (29), and Pooja (24) were then helped by Roy and taken to a hospital. While Kaanta sustained severe injuries on her back, Pooja had stitches on her head and Deepak hurt his hand.
Sneha received negligible injuries. Following a complaint by the victims, the actor was booked for rash and negligent driving.
A holiday court granted him bail on surety of `2,000. While the victims claim that the actor was under the influence of alcohol, the preliminary police report said there was no evidence of Ronit being inebriated.
The Roy family meanwhile is keeping their fingers crossed. "It (the arrest) is a routine procedure.
I guess because Ronit is a public figure, the media glare is making the case seem more intense than it is," said brother Rohit. Currently the family is more concerned about the victims than Ronit's arrest.
"We are praying hard that the lady gets better soon. I think that's more important," said Rohit.

(less)Riteish Deshmukh launches Legends Walk
While these cultural monuments have served as inspiration, Riteish promises that his project will be different. Says Riteish, "The idea came to me a couple of years ago, when I visited Leicester Square and saw the floor plaques.
We have some legendary actors in Hindi films too, so why don't we have something like this in Mumbai? Once I started working on it, some time went into figuring out the right name, where to do it, etc. We finally decided on the Legends Walk title and are planning to do it on Bandra promenade.
Most importantly, we had to get all the big Bollywood personalities' handprints. We started working on this seven months ago, and now we have over 20 stars' prints.
" Riteish has registered the logo already and says most stars were thrilled with the idea. "They asked me how I'd thought of it, and I said I was doing this as a fan.
I've grown up watching Hindi movies and would love to see actors like Amitabh Bachchan, Dilip Kumar, Waheeda Rehman, etc come together on the Legends Walk, along with present day stars. The place will be ready soon, and the handprints will be encased in metal to make sure they are weatherproof.
" Some of the personalities whose handprints Ritiesh has already got include Amitabh Bachchan, Dharmendra, Rajesh Khanna, Salim Khan, Javed Akhtar, Shatrughan Sinha, Dharamendra, Sadhana, Waheeda Rehman, Vinod Khanna, Zeenat Aman, Asha Bhonsle, Pran, Rishi Kapoor, Shashi Kapoor, Mithun Chakroborty, Salman Khan and Dilip Kumar. Riteish adds, "I got Salman and Salim Khan's handprints on Wednesday, and Shah Rukh Khan, Ajay Devgn and Sanjay Dutt have agreed to do theirs shortly.
I have to say that this is not just my baby. I couldn't have done this without the help of my friends.
Karan (Johar) knew about this right from the start and helped me through it all. While Abhishek spoke to Mr Bachchan, Tusshar (Kapoor) spoke to Jeetendra, Esha (Deol) to Dharmendra, and Farah Khan took me to meet Manoj Kumar.
They have really been there for me and I appreciate their kindness."

Everybody had a blast during the shoot," Asin said. "It was also great sharing space with senior actors like Mithun Da, Rishiji, Randhirji, Boman Irani, Johnny Lever and the other girls (Jacqueline Fernandez and Zarine Khan).

(less)Abhishek Bachchan loses 9kgs
He has even changed his trainer to help him achieve the body he wants to flaunt in D3. The trainer who helped Shah Rukh Khan get his six-pack abs in Om Shanti Om and Ajay Devgn his lean and mean physique in Singham - Prashant Nakwe has been roped in to whip AB Junior into shape.
And in just one month, he has managed to make AB's Baby shed nine kilos! Says a source close to Abhishek, "He's had a couple of trainers in the past but he wasn't that committed to working out. It was during the recent Jaipur shoot of Bol Bachchan with co-star Ajay Devgn that got him hooked on to it seriously.
Since then he has been religiously working out for two hours every day. Last week, Bachchan Jr had to shoot a tough action scene for Players so he trained extra hard.
Everyone is now talking about the suddenly-fit Abhishek. At his Diwali party recently, the guests complimented him on his toned physique.
" The toughest part for the actor has been giving up sweets. Reveals an insider, "He's cut off mithai completely from his diet.
It's a big deal as he loves meetha. He wants a lean physique and is not interested in six or eight packs but in building a completely natural bod, without the help of steroids.
" Abhishek confirms getting a new trainer to help him achieve his target, "Being a visual medium I believe we must look our part. I personally like an athletic body.
In order to achieve this you don't need to stop eating. You need to eat sensibly and the right amounts.
Don't go overboard. And if you do, it's not the end of the world, just burn it off in the gym.
The most important thing to do in the gym is to set yourself a target and work relentlessly to achieve it. Yes, it is difficult.

(less)Rohit Roys' favourite action movies
Uma Thurman kicked a** and was better than most action heroes. Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon: Amazing effects and great action.
One of the best films to come out of HK in the last decade. House Of Flying Daggers: Beautifully shot and with great sound effects.
Every rain drop was audible. Poetry in motion! Sholay: One of the all time best spaghetti westerns to come out of India.
Best screenplay, super action, 70 mm entertainment and of course, Amitabh Bachchan! Deewar: Although not that much of an action film, the godown action sequence with Peter is so memorable that I'd list the film only for that one fight. And again, of course the angry young Vijay.
Enter the Dragon: The first of the martial arts biggies from Hong kong to throw up a big hollywood star, the legend Bruce lee. Rocky: Raw power coupled with sex appeal gave birth to the ultimate action star Sylvester Stallone and the underlying emotional turmoil of his character makes the film a dramatic treat.
Desperadoes: A small budget film with typical Mexican spaghetti action and the chemistry between its lead pair Antonio Banderas and Salma Hayek took the film to another level. Phool Aur Kaante: Rise of another action star Ajay Devgan.
I still remember his entry in it, straddled on two superbikes. Robot: Not only am I a huge fan of the superstar Rajnikanth but also this is the first Indian film I saw with action sequences that had such extraordinary special effects.
Dabangg: Salman Khan on an adrenaline high! Loved the action and his style. Have seen it thrice and wouldn't mind seeing it again.
Rambo: Again a franchise of Sly Stallone which was top class muscle and action with a back story of a misled mercenary. Ghayal: No action list can be complete without Sunny Deol.
Street fighting with raw emotions and no frills, cables and special effects. Pure 'Jat' power.
XXX: Van Diesel hits paydirt with this high octane action flick. Perfect blend of high class car muscle, sexy chicks and steroid bodies! All James Bond Movies: When it comes to cool action, gizmos, style and sex, you can't beat Bond! Terminator: Arnold Schwarzenegger .

(less)Amar Singh visits Bachchans at Seven Hills
A few minutes later, Singh was seen heading back to his car accompanied by Aishwarya's father-in-law Amitabh Bachchan, who headed back to the fifth floor of the hospital after bidding his friend good-bye. Among the other visitors were filmmaker Goldie Behl accompanied by his actress wife Sonali Bendre and filmmakers Apoorva Lakhia and Bunty Walia.
Police personnel could be seen from half a kilometer ahead of the hospital as tight security was maintained at the Seven Hills Hospital. However, the paparazzi set up their cameras behind the walls of the luxury hospital, overlooking the building where the Bachchans booked three rooms -- one for Aishwarya, the other for the Bachchan family and the third for the Rai family.
The entire floor was kept out of bounds for all except the two families. Aishwarya was admitted to the hospital on Monday night, according to her spokesperson.
The girl is Amitabh and Jaya Bachchan's third grandchild, after Agastya and Navya Naveli -- children of his daughter Shweta and son-in-law Nikhil Nanda. Tweet
(less)Ajay Devgn bags 18-cr deal
Devgn who made his debut with Phool Aur Kaante in 1991, has been charging Rs 6-8 crore for his films. After the success of Singham, the actor has finally decided to hike his price.
For Vashu Bhagnani's next project, the remake of 1983 superhit Himmatwala, Devgn has been paid Rs 18 crore, more than double his usual fee. A source revealed to Mumbai Mirror, "Ajay Devgn is one of the most bankable stars in the industry today.
In the last couple of years he has given many hits like Golmaal 3, All The Best, Atithi Tum Kab Jaoge , Rajneeti and Once Upon A Time In Mumbai . But it is only after Singham that Ajay has decided to hike his price.
After all, Singham earned a profit of over Rs 100 crore. Speaking about the Devgn's sudden decision to hike his price, a source close to the actor said, "Ajay Devgn is someone who has a fair knowledge of the business and distribution.
He has also been involved in the distribution business for some time now. And that's the reason why he never believed in increasing his price.
He would stick to Rs 6-8 crore for his films. But after Singham, his market value has now multiplied.
And so, when he was offered Himmatwala by director Sajid Khan, he took it up at an increased fee." When contacted, Devgn's manager refrained from commenting on the same and said, "We do not like discussing finances with everybody.

The groom, wearing a white sherwani and red 'feta' (turban), entered the hotel riding a white 'ghodi'. Genelia wore a red and gold lehenga designed by Ritu Kumar .
The 'baaraat' started from the grounds near Grand Hyatt. Amidst the singing and dancing, Riteish, with his face covered with a 'sehra' (flower veil), waved excitedly while sitting on the horse.
The actor's Congress minister father Vilasrao Deshmukh was dressed in a brown sherwani. Sharad Pawar , Praful Patel , Subodh Kant Sahay , Sunil Tatkare and Johny Joseph were among the political figures present at the wedding.
B-town guests present included Shah Rukh Khan, Abhishek Bachchan , Jaya Bachchan , Kajol and Ajay Devgn, Akshay Kumar , Sajid Khan, Karan Johar , Shahid Kapoor , Ashutosh Gowariker, Sajid Nadiadwala, Satish Shah, Asin, Jacky Bhagnani, Vashu Bhagnani, Ramesh Taurani, Nishka and Neeta Lulla. The reception will take place tomorrow at the same hotel. Riteish and Genelia have been seeing each other since their Bollywood debut, 'Tujhe Meri Kasam' in 2003 but they chose to be secretive about it.

(less)SRK and Ajay Devgn are friends again?
Not surprisingly, the common factor is Rohit Shetty, Devgn's director buddy who's making Chennai Express with SRK next year. The buzz is that, the Chennai Express script had already been discussed with Ajay.
"Since they've done so many movies together, it's but obvious that Ajay and Rohit would discuss ideas. And Chennai Express is one of them.
Back then, they had no fixed time to make it as after Bol Bachchan , Ajay would be busy with Son Of Sardar and Sajid Khan's next for Vashu Bhagnani to name some, while Rohit was committed to doing a film with SRK. So during one of the conversations, Rohit wondered if it was okay with Ajay if he discussed Chennai Express with SRK," a source said, adding that much to the surprise of everyone, the actor agreed.
Later on, when Rohit narrated the script of Chennai Express to SRK, the actor loved it and decided to do the action comedy instead of the remake of Angoor with the director. SRK was even more surprised to know that his best friend Kajol's hubby had no problems if he did the movie.

(less)Shah Rukh Khan beats up Farah Khan's husband!
Says an eye witness, "SRK arrived at the party post the Filmfare Awards , at around 2 am. Kunder was in high spirits and was badgering SRK from the time he arrived, following him around the venue.
The fight happened around 3.30 am.
SRK happened to be in the exit corridor at that point and couldn't keep his anger in check any longer and he pushed him." Sources say things had been heating up between the duo ever since Kunder took to his microblogging site to trash SRK's films some months ago.
They even pointedly avoided bumping into each other at Riteish Deshmukh's birthday party in December. That changed when they came face-to-face at Dutt's party on Sunday night.
Adds the source, "When Sanju heard about the fracas, he rushed to break it up. However, some people say that he too ended up landing a few blows on Kunder.
Politician Baba Dewan too jumped into the fray and started arguing with SRK. Things had become very messy by this point, so all of them (barring Shirish) decided to go to Mannat and sort it out.
Sanju and Maana finally went home around 7.30 am.
" When asked about the shocking incident, Shirish says, "I didn't even know Shah Rukh was at the party! I was having a good time when he suddenly grabbed my hair from behind and started hitting me. I was taken completely off guard.
Had he attacked me face-to-face, I would've fought back but I was too stunned to react. I challenge him to an open fight.
Only a spineless old man would attack from behind." Farah Khan, who was not at the party as she was busy shooting, adds, "Shah Rukh has always told me that getting physical is the worst way to sort out a problem, and that it means the attacker has a personal or professional crisis going on.
It saddens me to see him doing the same now."

(less)I wouldn't like to stake any claim: Ajay Devgn
"" And Devgn swears by Rohit. "" All my films with Rohit have worked and I am proud of him that the guy I trusted in now everybody wants to work with him,"" Devgn further added.
Apparently, Devgn did Rascals for his close pal Sanjay Dutt , who is also the film's producer. And while giving a token affection to David, he said, ""Both, David and Rohit know where it is going right and where it is going wrong.
"" But looks like David didn't know this time. And the seasoned actor, who is shown his mastery at almost every genre, would continue to ""follow his heart"".
""I am comfortable doing films of all genre. If an actor says that he likes one particular genre then he is not a complete actor.
I would like to keep doing and repeating different genres of films. I really don't know what I would like to do next or what remains to be done.
I hear the script, I hear the character and if I really like it I follow my heart. Then I don't think about what genre the film is,"" elaborates Devgn.
With so much success and so many consecutive hits, won't Devgn like to stake his claim like some of his colleagues? ""I wouldn't like to stake any claim, I would only want the love from my audience,"" he smiles. And what do awards and rewards mean to him? ""The day I feel awards are very necessary I will go and buy them.
Or I will go and perform on stage to get one at the award functions,"" he says sarcastically. Devgn is now looking forward to Vishal Bharadwaj's film, then Son Of Sardar which has garnered lot of interest in the industry even before it has started rolling, and Rohit Shetty directed, Bol Bachan , which also has Abhishek Bachchan and Asin in the cast
(less)No change in Sanjay since 20 years: David Dhawan
He doesn't hide anything. I think he is basically the most simple guy I have ever seen.
I started my career with him 20 years back as a director, and he is still the same. There is no change in him," Dhawan, who first worked with Sanjay in 1989 film Taaqatwar , told reporters.
Comedy film Rascals , which released on Thursday, also stars Ajay Devgn. Sanjay, who considers Ajay as his younger brother, says even after delivering many hits, the latter is very down to earth.
"Ajay comes across as a very serious person which actually he is not. He is a very easy person.
He has got a fantastic sense of humour. He is so grounded.
He has given hits like Golmaal, Singham and I pray that Rascals is also a big hit..
.but all this doesn't affect him," said Sanjay.
Sanjay will next be seen as a villain in Karan Johar's Agneepath remake while Ajay is busy shooting Rohit Shetty's Bol Bachchan . Tweet
(less)Will Katrina or Kareena win the Khan race?

(less)Sequels with different actors
..
Bollywood has witnessed a successful run of sequels to film series like Dhoom, Munnabhai, Golmaal, Hera Pheri and Murder to name a few. Even Hollywood is trying to earn big bucks with 75 sequels scheduled for release this year.
Maybe it is the tried and tested formula that attracts filmmakers, 2012 has a big line-up of sequels awaiting their fate at the box-office. Sajid Khan's Housefull 2, Kunal Deshmukh's Jannat 2, Ramesh Taurani's Race 2, Sachin Yardi's Kya Super Cool Hai Hum, Vikram Bhatt's Raaz 3 and 1920-The Evil Returns, Milan Luthria's Once Upon A Time in Mumbaai 2 are just a few sequels awaited this year.
As soon as a movie earns good moolah at the box office, a sequel to the movie is immediately announced. Says director Vikram Bhatt, "It is like the franchisee of any famous food outlet.
You know what food you will get there. Similarly if I talk about the Raaz franchise, people know that if there is a Raaz 3 being made, it will be about horror, love, lust and music.
" Following up a hit movie with a sequel has surely become a common trend. But in most movies, the actors are different from their respective prequels.
Ajay Devgn in Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai has been replaced with Akshay Kumar in the sequel. The leading ladies in Housefull have been replaced by Asin and Jaqueline Fernandes, Sonal Chauhan in Jannat has been replaced by Esha Gupta in the sequel.
Even the cast of Raaz 3, Race 2, Kya Super Cool Hai Hum and Dhoom 3 has changed according to the story. Director Sajid Khan says, "The reason why the movie is called Housefull 2 is because it belongs to the same brand franchisee.
It is not in any way connected to the original film. The story is different, so the characters are also different.
" New faces are seen portraying essential characters in these movies. Sanjay Khanduri's sequel to Ek Chaalis Ki Last Local has Viveik Oberoi and Mallika Sherawat in the lead roles.
Trade analyst Taran Adarsh feels that the sequels have a different plot vis-a-vis the earlier film and promise to deliver extra entertainment. He says, "This norm has been observed in Hollywood as well.
The sequels may or may not have the same actors. It depends on what the story demands.
It is all about the brand value of the film." But if the storyline and actors are different, why not have a different name altogether? Vikram Bhatt says, "It is all about selling an experience.
A person invests a lot of time and energy in making and marketing a movie. In sequels, more than half of the job is done.
It might go wrong also. People know what to expect.
When a family goes to watch a movie and shells out so much money, they would be happier to know what they'll see rather than it being a complete surprise." With sequels to Partner , Dostana , Ragini MMS , Rajneeti , Force , Rock On , No Entry , Judwaa , Tanu Weds Manu , Krrish , Ishqiya , Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster 2 and Ab Tak Chappan also declared as 'Coming Soon' in B-Town; whether these films with new stories and newer characters succeed in impressing the audience, only time will tell
(less)No Golmaal 4 before 2013: Rohit Shetty
"Yes, we have put on hold plans for Golmaal 4 . I am not going to work on the film this year or next year.
May be in 2013 we will start shooting for it but even that's not too sure. I would love to make other films in the interim," said Rohit.
Though his Golmaal films have done well at the box business, Shetty wants to come up with something unique to begin the fourth movie. "I always work on fresh ideas and if that's not true then I could have put two more heroes other than Ajay Devgn and Abhishek Bachchan in 'Bol Bachchan' and sold it as Golmaal 4 .
"But I didn't do that. Good stories are available, but then they should justify the brand that you are selling.
I don't want to cheat audience by giving them something in the name of 'Golmaal' when I myself is not convince," he added. Shetty, who finished Singham in just 132 days, is in no hurry to finish Bol Bachchan .
"I am tired after working hard on 'Singham'. I am in no mood to make Bol Bachchan in such a short time.
I would wrap it up by January next year," said Shetty. The director, who started his career in 2003 with Zameen , says that over the years he has learnt how to take care of business and economy while making a film.
" Singham was made at a cost which was 25 per cent lesser than that of Golmaal 3 . I could have increased the budget but what's the point in doing that?" Shetty is looking to remake Gulzar's 1982 movie Angoor with Shah Rukh Khan but says it is too early to talk about the project.
"I had narrated the idea of remaking Angoor with Shah Rukh a few months back when he was in India. However I got busy with Singham soon after.
There was just one meeting between us, that's about it. I guess it would be very premature on my part to talk about that further," he added.

(less)First weeks get bigger, better
In fact, Bollywood's man of the moment Salman Khan's Bodyguard is reportedly the first Hindi film to have netted the fastest ` 100 crore collection in its first week, going on to add another ` 10-11 crore in the next three days and counting. Before that came Rohit Shetty's Singham that earned around ` 50 crore, Zoya Akhtar's urban bromance, Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara, ` 45 crore, Ready, directed by Anees Bazmee collected ` 68 crore in the first week itself.
Guess what are the formula(s) no.1 for ensuring big bucks in the first week of a film's release? A promotional blitzkrieg (which means deluging the viewer with all possible nuggets about the film, stars making appearances on TV shows/soaps, besides hobnobbing with the audience in multiplexes of urban India), bone-crunching action sequences tempered with sensuous item songs, and releasing the film at the right time (read festivals like Ganesh Chaturthi, Eid, Diwali, Dusshera, post-IPL, summer vacations).
Smart filmmakers know how to get the most out of the multiplex audience and the best way to woo them back to the screens. Filmmakers are unapologetic about the ingredients they are using to wow the cinebuffs, - raunchy comedy, kick-ass action, and sensual song-dance sequences.
Filmmaker Rohit Shetty who has hit gold with his Golmaal franchise and Singham, feels that the kind of films he makes, caters to almost 80-90 per cent of the audience in the country. He says, "My budgets are too high to take a risk with my film.
You can't make ` 60 crore films with someone who is not a saleable star. An entertaining film does not have a hit formula today but the first week collections are guaranteed only with a saleable star like Salman or Ajay, and the script is always larger-than-life.
That's how it works." Opening score Bodyguard : 101.
45 crore Ready : 68 crore Singham : 50 crore ZNMD : 45 crore Double dhamaal : 45 crore Delhi Belly : 36.5 crore Murder-2 : 36 crore With giant budgets for promotions and publicity of films, a film is treated like a 'product' when it hits the market.
Says trade analyst Komal Nahta, "The initial hype created about the film and festivals are great audience pullers for a film. When you are releasing a film during Eid or Diwali, the number of people hungry for entertainment is many folds more.
Also the initial bombardment of the film promotions on the viewers is so strong that a film belonging to the three Khans is definitely going to be seen once. It has all to do with excellent promotions, entertaining film with hit music and a festival release.
" But filmmakers disagree that a film works because of its publicity. Says actor Ajay Devgn, "Publicity and promotions are trends that we have to follow because everyone is following them.
All of us are doing the same shows, the same rounds of publicity and the same events, but some films work and some don't (despite them)." Agrees Rohit, "However, great publicity can't really save a bad film.
" Multiplex owners and distributors see hit stars and commercial potboilers as important reasons for the breaking records phenomenon of the first week collections. For the masses, movies are the biggest sources of entertainment and there is no other means to second that.
Says Ashish Saxena, CEO of a popular chain of multiplexes in the country, "A single release (when one film releases during a particular week) of a film also guarantees success specially in the smaller cities, where people have already chosen which films they are going to watch in the weekend. So when it's a long weekend, films are an ideal way to unwind.
With digital cinema penetrating the interiors, piracy is controlled and the collections are huge." Filmmaker Indra Kumar whose Double Dhamaal collected ` 25 crore in the first week, feels that the look and promotions of a film help in the initial collections.
"It's a hit and run game these days. There are 21 shows running in multiplexes today, so obviously a first weekend collection is very important.
In case of the Khans maybe the star value works, but in other films the promos and the first look guarantees the first week collections." According to trade analysts and filmmakers Ra.
One which is slated for a Diwali release and Don 2 (December release) will also break records and gross at the box-office in the coming months. From golden jubilees and silver jubilees, a film is now a jackpot if it sails successfully through the first weekend into the profit zone.
As Bollywood's BO collections get bigger and better, we wonder what kind of returns will soon-to-release biggies like David Dhawan's Rascals (Sanjay Dutt-Kangna Ranaut-Ajay Devgn), Farhan Akhtar's Don 2 (Shah Rukh Khan-Priyanka Chopra), Anubhav Sinha's Ra.One (Shah Rukh Khan-Kareena Kapoor), Imtiaz Ali's Rockstar (Ranbir Kapoor-Nargis Faqkri), Shreeram Raghvan's Agent Vinod (Saif Ali Khan-Kareena), Anurag Basu's Barfee (Ranbir-Priyanka Chopra-Ileana), Kabir Khan's Ek Tha Tiger (Salman Khan-Katrina Kaif), Priyadarshan's Tezz (Ajay Devgn-Anil Kapoor), Maneesh Sharma's Ladies Vs Ricky Behl (Ranveer Singh-Anushka) promise! Will they reach the 150 crore or better still even the 200 crore club and create new highs for blockbusters? (less)John Abraham's night out inside a van
While shooting for the song, director Rohit Dhawan challenged the brawny actor to spend the night in the one-box designed van and John instantly took it up. While the rest of the cast and crew headed to the hotel they were put up at ,John spent the night in truly desi style and managed with no spots or any other assistance even when it came to making his own meal.
Confirms a production source "The mini van was so tiny that a single person can barely take 5 steps in either direction .As a joke Rohit challenged John to spend a day in the van and the next thing you know, the next morning when the cast and crew got back to the location, John was sitting outside on his chair with his cup of coffee that he had made on his own"

Tweet
(less)Restaurant trashes Tanuja’s doggy bag demand
Tanuja revealed to Mumbai Mirror, "The place is fantastic and so is the service. But I guess we ordered too much food and it was something we should not have done.
" Tanuja, who says she is used to requesting restaurants all over the world to pack up the leftover food, did the same here. However, Hakkasan, the restaurant, refused to oblige.
"When I asked them what they intended to do with the excess food, the waiter replied that they would throw it away," says the yesteryear actress, adding, "I was appalled. I have never heard someone say anything like this.
" Apparently, the matter did not end there. When Tanuja insisted on getting a parcel, reminding the manager of the hungry multitudes that go hungry in the country, and promised him that she would give the leftover to the first beggar down the street, the manager allegedly summoned the 'bouncers'.
"He said I should show the bouncers where exactly to dispose off the waste, but they would not hand it over to me," said the actress. "They should have alerted us when we over-ordered.
It was their duty," she maintains. Though Tanuja claims she simply paid off her bill and left the place, the restaurant has a different story to tell.
Ajay Beri, COO, Hakkasan Mumbai said, "Yes this unfortunate incident happened Tuesday evening. We treated her with a lot of respect in spite of her being abusive and showing utter disrespect to our staff.
She was completely drunk and probably did not know what she was doing." In fact, Beri also said that Tanuja reportedly walked up to the reception and broke one of the award trophies and "even threw food on the floor.
" Citing the company's global policy of not allowing guests to walk out with excess food, Beri explained, "This is to ensure that the food does not harm anybody as there are different temperatures in which the food is cooked and consumed at the restaurant. We are not sure of when and how the food will be taken outside the restaurant.
" Beri says Tanuja created a scene at the restaurant and said there are no "bouncers" there. "We have everything on video and it is strange that she is talking about food when she herself threw the food on the floor.
In spite of all this we treated her with complete respect and this is no way to conduct at a public place. Sorry.
" We get the feeling that Tanuja may just want to order home delivery the next time
(less)Asin wants to act with Rajinikanth
"I wish to work with Rajini..
. If I come across a good project I will certainly act (opposite him)," she said.
The 26-year-old actress will be next seen opposite Akshay Kumar in Housefull 2 and the actress is looking forward to the release of the film, which boasts of 22 major actors working in it. "We wrapped up shooting in record time and the film is ready for an April release.
It has shaped up very well. I am looking forward to it," she told reporters at the announcement of the 57th Idea Filmfare Awards here.
Housefull 2 boasts of 22 major actors including Akshay, John Abraham, Riteish Deshmukh, Randhir Kapoor, Rishi Kapoor and Mithun Chakraborty. It was a huge challenge for Sajid Nadiadwala and Sajid Khan not just at the scripting stage, but also logistically.
"It was a lot of fun working with Sajid Khan and Sajid Nadiadwala. Both have managed such a huge cast very well.
Everybody had a blast during the shoot," Asin said. "It was also great sharing space with senior actors like Mithun Da, Rishiji, Randhirji, Boman Irani, Johnny Lever and the other girls (Jacqueline Fernandez and Zarine Khan).
With such a big cast, it was literally housefull," she added. Asin said apart from Housefull 2 , she is working in Bol BachchanM starring Ajay Devgn and Abhishek Bachchan and directed by Rohit Shetty.
"We have just wrapped up one schedule and shooting is going on," she added. When asked whether she has any plan to act in Hollywood flicks, Asin said, "I think right now I better concentrate on Indian cinema.

Sources say that he called up producer Ratan Jain and asked him to shift the release date of Tezz. "Imtiaz Ali's film had booked the date before Tezz, so Ajay thought it was prudent to move Tezz rather than ask the other film to move.
Ajay shares a good rapport with Ranbir since Raajneeti and did not want a clash with him," says the source. "Also, Ajay is close to Ashtavinayak, who are has produced Rockstar.
The Golmaal series, which has added to Ajay's stardom, has been produced by Ashtavinayak," adds the source. Ratan Jain remained unavailable for comment

(less)Bollywood's highest paid stars
"But they're also producers of their films, like Aamir for Talaash , SRK for Don 2 , Salman for Bodyguard , Dabangg 2 . So a major portion of their remuneration comes from the revenue the movie earns," says a trade veteran.
Actresses : Reports may insinuate that Katrina Kaif was offered Rs 20 crore by Vashu Bhagnani to star in his next film but sources maintain that Kareena Kapoor is the highest paid of the lot. After being paid over Rs 3.
5 crore for Golmaal 3 , the Heroine is being paid Rs 5 crore plus a share in the profits for Heroine. But this is most likely to be a one-off instance, given the circumstances.
Directors : Rajkumar Hirani is known for a bigger hit every time, starting with Munnabhai MBBS till the mammoth 3 Idiots . Trade experts peg Hirani's fees at Rs 15 crore plus at least 25 percent of the revenue the film earns.
Writers : Abhijat Joshi, with help from Rajkumar Hirani, salvaged the position of good writers. He's the highest paid writer on the block with his paycheck bulked up to Rs 3 crore after 3 Idiots .
Production designers : This pack is clearly led by Nitin Chandrakant Desai. His fee alone is at least a crore; in addition he recommends his own ND studio, the rent of which of course, is earned separately.
Close behind is Sabu Cyril, whose take home too is over Rs 75 lakh. Cinematographers : Ravi K Chandran earned over Rs 1 crore for SRK's RA.
One . This fee may be justified by the fact that the movie cost about Rs 150 crore to make.
In the same league is Binod Pradhan, who shot films like Devdas, Rang De Basanti , but was paid a fee of Rs 1.5 crore for South star Pavan Kalyan's Puli .
"What is amazing that Binod had signed the package deal of Rs 4 crore for cinematography, including fees of his assistants," reveals a source. It is learnt that Pradhan has acquired a high-end camera and henceforth will shoot only on it.
"So now he will also charge the rent for the equipment," pointed out our source. Music composers : Without doubt, A R Rahman features on top.
The Oscar winner earns Rs 5-8 crore per film, which also include his fees for creating the background score. Pritam comes second, with about Rs 3 crore per film.
"And that works out at Rs 25 lakh per song, including fees for the singers, studio rentals etc," says our source. Sound designers : Thanks to the Oscar award, Resul Pokuttu beats everyone else in this department.
He is said to charge Rs 50 lakh per film. He also earns through rent of his studio, as he doesn't like working in any other studio.
Action directors : Though a considerable amount of the budget is set aside for an action film, the men who call the shots are paid comparatively lesser. However, they make up for it in the daily expenses, reveal our sources.
South based Peter Hein and Allan Amin, who directed the thrills for the Dhoom series, are the most expensive in their domain. They charge Rs 30 lakh per film, but to shoot with them costs an additional Rs 2.
5 lakh upwards per day for the harnesses, cables and other equipment. Choreographers : Farah Khan and Remo D'Souza, are among the highest paid choreographers along with Ganesh Hegde and Vaibhavi Merchant.
Sources peg their fees (per song) at a minimum of Rs 25 lakh, going up to Rs 50 lakh. Editors : Production sources swear by Shreekar Prasad, who edited films like Raavan , National Award winning Tamil film Kutty Shrank, Kaminey , etc.
He's believed to charge Rs 25 lakh per film, plus another R 8 lakh to cut the promos. Lyricists : Javed Akhtar takes the credit as he's said to charge Rs 10 lakh per song.
Not far behind is Prasoon Joshi, who's believed to demand Rs 8 lakh per number. Playback singers : Sonu Niigam makes the most among the male playback singers, earning a cool Rs 10 lakhs per song.
Among the females, Sunidhi Chauhan and Shreya Ghoshal rule the roost, making Rs 2.5 lakh per song.

Ever since, I have been taking potshots at him through my acts on my comedy show about how Rohit didn't fulfill his promise. Finally I'm doing his movie.
" Krushna isn't apprehensive of being stereotyped as a comedian. He says, "Beggars can't be choosers.
I am not in a position to call the shots. I am dishing out what people expect me to.
I can only be choosy once I reach somewhere." Doesn't he feel that the recognition came late to him? "Post Nach Baliye, I was flooded with TV offers but I was scared to see my co-participants (daily soap actors) coming all exhausted from their shoot.
Half of them would fall ill due to rehearsals. It wasn't my cup of tea so I steered clear of daily soaps.
Whatever I am today is all because of my hard work. I have never turned to Govinda (his uncle) for any help.

(less)Devgns' chill out in Jaipur
At least, that's what it looks like, for a few days earlier, Ajay Devgn landed in the city to begin shooting for Rohit Shetty's "Bol Bachchan" and now, the rest of the extended family has followed suit, too. Though Kajol (who had son Yug in her arms) tried to dodge us, our lensman caught her.
Kajol was accompanied by her mother, the erstwhile actress Tanuja, and Ajay's dad Veeru Devgn. A source told us, "It is a family get together of sorts.
The family doesn't get enough time together, and Ajay has an extended shooting schedule here, so they all thought of meeting up here." So, guess the Devgn family will go sightseeing in and around the Pink City, and going by what every Bollywood star does these days - a trip to Ajmer will be a must do on their itinerary, too

Says a source close to Devgn, "Director Rohit Shetty and he had signed on the music directors of the original Marathi song as they wanted an item song for Bol Bachchan. The song also featured AD and Abhishek Bachchan in it.
Rohit was planning to approach Katrina Kaif or Kareena Kapoor for the same. This would be the first time that a Rohit Shetty film would have an item song.
But everything changed when Karan approached Ajay-Atul to do Chikni Chameli for them in Agneepath." The music duo also requested Devgn for permission to do the song with Karan instead as the film was releasing before Bol Bachchan and doing a film with KJo would mean a lot to them.
"Ajay was moved by their request and immediately told them they could go ahead. Now Rohit and Ajay have decided to scrap the song from the film altogether.
It was a gesture few know about, including Karan himself."
