Anil, Ajay, Suniel, Vidya and Sameera in Priyadarshan's Bullet Train
If the industry rumors are to be believed, then, the film stars the likes of Anil Kapoor, Ajay Devgn, Suniel Shetty, Paresh Rawal, Vidya Balan and Sameera Reddy. There were rumors that the suave Kunal Kapoor was also a part of the starcast.
When Bollywood Hungama spoke to the PRO of Kunal, they simply denied Kunal being a part of this flick. What's really stunning is that everyone associated with this film is totally tightlipped about this venture.
From what we have learnt, the filming of Bullet Train will start from September 5 and the film will extensively be shot in London

Azim looks up to Salman, SRK and Aamir Khan
To make his character in "Qasam Se Qasam Se" appear realistic, Azim frequented call centre offices to absorb the finer nuances of the people working there. "It was quite a relevation for me as an actor.
I witnessed not only people's mannerisms but also the activities they indulge in during the break hour. Looking into the mirror, some guys would be busy ruffling their hair and taking care of their looks, while some would busy binging.
And there would others catching up with family and friends over their cell phones. This has helped shaped my character in the film.
" Azim feels that all our veteran actors were keen observers and would translate that on screen. "Whether it were the legendary actors like Dilip Kumar or the late Raj Kapoor or Dev Anand , they were schools in themselves.
I am a great fan of Salman Khan , Shah Rukh Khan and Aamir Khan and look at them as a student who looks upon his guru. I am mastering the art of acting watching their films," he smiles

(less)I never thought I'd be a desirable woman: Sameera Reddy
"My name in the list means a lot to me. As as a young girl, I never thought even in my wildest dreams that I would become a desirable woman.
I yearned for a perfect body as I was ugly duckling in school. But now that I have entered films, I believe that beauty is hidden in the imperfections of people and it all depends on how you use them.
That's my definition of desirable and I am glad to have made it to the list," says Sameera. The actor is basking in the success of her last Tamil release opposite Madhavan and has Padma Shri Priyadarshan's Tezz to look forward to.
Sameera has now decided that she will do a mix of performance-oriented and glamorous characters on screen, something that Simran and Jyothika did in Kollywood. So is the report true that Sameera wants to become the next Simran and Jyothika? "You cannot become another person.
I had said that I look up to both Simran and Jyothika, who had a mixed bag of roles- performance-oriented and cute characters. Both had their own fan following .
They are my role models and I want to have a beautiful lineup of characters like them," says the actor
(less)Sherlyn Chopra likes being unconventional
Be it politics, cinema, sports, business or any other arena, women across the globe including India are in great form mentally, physically and consciously to undertake greater responsibilities and tougher challenges that are often encountered on paths less travelled." Sherlyn is also happy that she has gone from being just a pin-up girl to an entrepreneur.
Says she, "The rapid metamorphosis in my case would not have been possible had the mindsets of the majority of the people in the Hindi film industry continued to be goverened by prejudices. I look upto entrepreneurs who command respect and attention for daring to think out of the box and act accordingly.
They do not have a herd mentality. What they have is unadulterated creativity which is set on fire by courage.
" Naming films like " The Dirty Picture ", " Erin Brokovich ", " No One Killed Jessica "," The Black Swan " as cinema that has changed the way we think, Sherlyn says, "Unconventionality is no longer a taboo. It is being applauded and celebrated by both the classes and the masses.
The pulse of the youth is racing towards liberalisation. And I'm truly loving it.
" Asked why she decided to give us photographs that resembled those of the " Jism 2 " campaign, the actor quips, "I have pushed the envelope by choosing to cover my nakedness with nothing but pure consciousness."

(less)Flash mob greets Imran at New York University
"I had a blast at NYU. Everyone was so enthusiastic, they put on a very polished, confident show, and the surprise flash mob at the end was perfectly executed.
My best wishes to all the students involved," Imran said in a statement. The students had been practising for the performance for over two weeks, ahead of Imran's visit to New York as part of the promotional tour.
"As the president of NYU Dillagi, a Bollywood dance team, I knew we had to have simpler steps that the general public would be able to do and we sent videos out to the public. I thought that the flash mob came out even better than expected since people kept joining the mob throughout the sequence and it definitely surprised those that did not know of it ahead of time," Mohit Chhatpar, coordinator of the flash mob, said.
"It was really fun to be doing a flash mob and having Imran among us was all the more fun. He was very sporting and interacted with the students.
We are excited about this movie as well and are glad he could come and be among us to talk about his movie," he added. The Dharma Productions' film, also starring Kareena Kapoor, is set to hit theatres Feb 10.

(less)Mohit Suri to direct Aashiqui 2 with fresh faces
"It's been 20 years for that film. So, obviously now I will have to upgrade this story.
It will be the same realistic love story but with a modern theme," Suri told IANS. Aashiqui won critical accolades after its release at the time.
It also catapulted the careers of lead actors Rahul Roy and Anu Agarwal, who forayed into Bollywood with this film. Suri is also set to hunt for new faces for the sequel.
"I will cast fresh faces with a new boy and a new girl," said Mohit. While some are referring to Aashiqui 2 as a sequel, others are calling it a remake.
However, producer Mukesh Bhatt of Vishesh Films sets the record straight. "It is neither a sequel nor a remake.
It can be said as the musical series of Aashiqui ..
.a new generation is making this film," he said.

Anil Kapoor: Mission in action?
Now, however, the marketing machinery is working overtime to promote this latest spy thriller in India by cashing in on Anil's popularity. Here we have some never-seen-before stills from the film featuring Anil in a white tuxedo and Hollywood actress Paula Patton in an elegant green evening gown.
Anil plays a suave Indian business tycoon, Brij Nath . In this scene, he's trying to seduce Jane Carter, a Bond-girl type bombshell played by Patton, who slaps him and walks off.
This marketing blitzkrieg by distributers Viacom 18, they are hoping, will silence all the talk about Anil having a small role in the thriller. Nice move, guys, you chattano!
(less)Producer's job not my cup of tea: Suniel Shetty
"The transformation from being an actor to a producer has been difficult. A producer's job is very demanding.
It is not my cup of tea, it is not my job, I know this for a fact," Suniel told IANS in an interview. "It is difficult to maintain relationships in this business.
A lot of misunderstandings happen and also there is too much stress. I don't think I want to be connected with stress," he added without revealing whether he will discontinue with the moviemaking business.
The macho actor made his entry in 1992 with "Balwan". A Black Belt in kickboxing, he did a string of action-packed movies such as "Waqt Hamara Hai", "Mohra", "Suraksha", "Shastra", "Rakshak", "Krishna", "Aakrosh" and "Dus".
Apart from action and comedy, he worked in patriotic outings like "Border" and "LOC: Kargil". But his ultimate aim is that people should remember him as a good human being.
"Twenty years is a long time to have survived in this industry. And it is the most important thing for me.
I worked with my heart and soul. There have been highs and lows but the day I retire or I get out or I am pushed out - I would want people to say that he was a good actor, but more than that he was a good human being," he said.
"That's why I also make a conscious effort that I don't hurt anybody," added Suniel who has been entertaining audiences for the last two decades. The actor even made a good on-screen team with action stars Akshay Kumar and Ajay Devgn in the 1990s, when actors had to take a lot of risk to make action scenes work.
But Suniel feels nowadays working in actioners is not as risky as it used to be. "Now the action has been made sleeker, easier and better.
Kids (young actors) don't have to break their bones like we had to. They don't have to jump from the fifth floor, they easily come down on cables or they just act as if they are jumping and the green screen does everything.
We did things ourselves. We were men then, and they are boys now," he said in a bold voice.
Pondering over the present scenario of the film industry, he concludes that masala movies are making a comeback. "The movies that are being made now are quite similar to the ones we had during the early 1990s.
The masala films, with action, fights, villain, hero and the beautiful heroines. It's a nostalgic feeling.
"Though we don't have the real 'villain character' any more, which were played by Amrish Puriji and the iconic Gabbar. Now the actors are trying to do everything in a film.
But films like 'Dabangg' and 'Singham' have really played an important role in letting us relive our old days," said the actor whose next big screen outing will be "Chai Garam"

This Sundial Pictures film will have a worldwide release in early 2012. Vivek says he decided to produce the film because he was impressed with Chirag and Mahaveer's passion, "I saw so much passion, dedication and single-minded love in them for this film.
When they told me that they wanted me to come on board as producer, I readily agreed. It was my proudest moment when the film won at Busan.
" Adds Amil Lad, "This film will make India proud." Chirag D Shah adds, "Dekh Indian Circus is an Indian film with the sensibilities of world cinema.
" Mahaveer S Jain says that films like Mother India, Lagaan and Tare Zameen Par have proved that commercial Indian cinema can garner applause from a global audience. While Mangesh Hadawale says, "The film is set against the backdrop of the 15th Lok Sabha elections.
The protagonists are a rural family who dream of watching an Indian circus and revolves around how difficult it is for them to spend even Rs 15 per ticket."

(less)Top 10 Bollywood movies of year 2011
One" and " Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara " not only satiated the moviegoer's appetite but also yielded profits for the Hindi film industry. Here IANS lists the top 10 movies of the year: 1.
"Bodyguard": Salman Khan and Kareena Kapoor's "Bodyguard" broke the opening day records by earning Rs.22 crore on the first day.
Although the story of the film, directed by Siddique , didn't have much to say, the music as well as the action sequences worked in its favour. Salman's signature dialogue - "Mujh par ek ehsaan karna ki mujh par koi ehsaan na karna" - once again struck a chord with fans.
2. "Ra.
One": World class VFX, amazing graphics, innovative marketing, tie-ups with multiple brands and Shah Rukh Khan as the superhero made sci-fi thriller "Ra.One" a profitable venture.
Another highlight of the film was its music, especially the song "Chamak challo" sung by international rapper Akon. And the marathon promotion by the superstar helped bring people to the theatres.
3. "The Dirty Picture": Her sensuous look shocked, her itsy-bitsy clothes astonished and her double meaning dialogues left audiences gasping for breath, but all this nothwithstanding, Vidya Balan swept both the classes and the masses off their feet with her bold avatar in Ekta Kapoor's "The Dirty Picture".
An unofficial biopic of southern sex symbol Silk Smitha, the film broke the myth that only movies with "Khans" work at the box office. 4.
"Ready": Romantic comedies have been a staple of Hindi films and this year Salman Khan's "Ready" used the recipe to earn profits. Shot in exotic locales of Thailand , director Anees Bazmee's drama about mistaken identity saw Salman romancing Asin Thottumkal amid all the hotch-potch in their lives, thanks to their onscreen relatives.
5. "Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara": Focussing on three bachelors dealing with their friendship and romance, the well-scripted film, with a resemblance to real life episodes, was supported by beautiful performances by the talented cast - Hrtihik Roshan, Abhay Deol , Farhan Akhtar , with Kalki Koechlin and Katrina Kaif as their love interests.
Kudos to director Zoya Akhtar for bringing liveliness, happiness and joyfulness with such deftness on screen through an adventurous road film mostly based in Spain. 6.
"Singham": An out-and-out action film, the success of "Singham" proves that there are takers for such films. Based on the "good wins over evil" theme, the actioner takes a dig at the corruption within the police department through two main characters - honest cop Ajay Devgn and Prakash Raj as a corrupt politician.
Director Rohit Shetty's film also marked southern actress Kajal Aggarwal's debut in Bollywood. 7.
" Rockstar ": Give him a good role and he can sink his teeth into it. Ranbir Kapoor proved that again by stepping into the shoes of a musician.
From a cute and simple college boy to a crazy lover to a successful but cynical singer, the young actor proved his mettle in every frame. The film appealed despite a faulty script, which had too many loose ends.
In short, it was Ranbir's film, which launched American Pakistani model in the Bollywood business. Other high points of the movie were A.
R. Rahman's music and Mohit Chauhan's singing.
8. "Mere Brother Ki Dulhan": Not good, not bad - that is how Yash Raj Films' "Mere Brother Ki Dulhan" could be described.
Thanks to Imran Khan , Katrina Kaif and Pakistani singer-actor Ali Zaffar's tangled love story woven against the backdrop a wedding, the romantic comedy managed to pull the crowds. The film got mixed reviews, but managed to enter the top grosser list of the year.
9. "Delhi Belly": Replete with cuss words, weird situations, witty dialogues, the experimental movie in the English language targeted the urban audiences, who hailed this free will adult comedy as they identified with the characters of Imran Khan, Kunal Roy Kapoor and Vir Das in the movie.
If director Abhinay Deo faced failure with "Game", this film pulled him out of darkness and Aamir Khan once again proved that he has a knack for choosing the best scripts as a producer. 10.
"Yamla Pagla Deewana": After the 2007 release "Apne", the Deol trio - Sunny, Bobby and Dharmendra - returned to the big screen with the comic caper "Yamla Pagla Deewana" by director Sameer Karnik. Though a small budget film, it received an overwhelming response.
The impeccable comic timing between the father and sons struck a chord with the audiences

(less)Mohanlal's 'Tezz' cameo enrages his fans
Signs of swelling dissent are already evident. The first promotional trailer of "Tezz" has Ajay Devgn and Anil Kapoor in spotlight, while Mohanlal is seen fleetingly.
This has evoked protest all over micro-blogging sites, creating a mild panic situation in the production team, says a source. "We never expected this kind of an uproar.
Mohanlal has a cameo in 'Tezz', and that's how he was shown in the first promo..
.in fleeting shots! But the uproar from his fans in the south on Facebook and Twitter has taken the producers by surprise.
New trailers are now being planned where Mohanlal will be as prominent as Ajay," said the source. Incidentally, this is not the first time Devgn has been compelled to share poster space with Mohanlal.
In Ram Gopal Varma's "Company", the same north-south divide had transpired. "Tezz" producer Ratan Jain admits to being taken aback by the uproar.
"Frankly we didn't expect this. We didn't mean to undermine Mohanlalji's stature at all.
He sportingly agreed to play a cameo part because of his proximity to Priyadarshan . The heroes of our film are Ajay Devgn and Anil Kapoor.
But if Mohanlalji's fans are upset, we've to do something about it," Jain said. "We're taking care of the situation.
The next promo will feature Mohanlalji prominently." An interesting sidelight to the Mohanlal-Devgn poster war is that "Tezz" was meant to be pitched as Devgn's next action film after "Singham".
But now with the Mohanlal fans demanding attention to him in the promotional footage, it would be difficult to hightlight the action aspect in the plot. "We're looking into it.
We need to be fair to all our actors," said Jain
(less)Akshay Kumar can’t play God
The film that has now been titled Oh My God! and is Akshay's first co-production under his recently set up production company Grazing Goat, will be directed by Umesh Shukla, who had also directed the play it is based on. Ashvini Yardi, ex head honcho of a television channel gets into film production with this venture as well.
A source close to the film revealed to Mumbai Mirror, "Originally, Paresh Rawal was supposed to produce the film. But now his company Playtime will be the line producer for the project.
" Explaining the reason behind Akshay's decision to opt out of the project, our source added, "Despite having to work on five films in 2012, Akshay tried his best to allot dates to his co-production with Ashvini. However, things failed to fall in place.
He is tied up with five films next year- Shirish Kunder's Joker, Prabhu Devaa's Rowdy Rathore, Milan Luthria's Once Upon A Time In Mumbai Part 2, Ashish Mohan's Khiladi 786 and Neeraj Pandey's Special Chabbis. And Ashwini wanted to put her first film on floors in January 2012.
" "Akshay and Ashwini had long meetings. Akshay is still trying to work out his dates, but chances of him remaining in the film are pretty remote.
Even the entry scene had been completely worked out keeping Akshay in mind. So, all that will have to be done all over again.
A big star will be chosen to replace Akshay," added the source. According to sources from the industry, Salman Khan and Ajay Devgn are being considered to replace Akshay.

(less)Sonam is very special: Shahid Kapoor
But the suave, 30-year-old, who has enjoyed the burst of popularity with link-ups with most of his co-stars says, "Maybe because I never talk about my private life, never tell who I am in a relationship with. I love to enjoy the company of friends but have learnt to ignore these reports".
From ex-beau Kareena Kapoor , Vidya Balan to Priyanka Chopra with whom he shared Kaminey a film that shook up his critic, is also known for his ways with the ladies. And after eight years in the industry, the actor is teaming up with father Pankaj Kapur in his next Mausam alongside Sonam Kapoor.

" Apart from that cellphones are generally not used on the sets Reportedly, sharing screen space with Sonam was not an easy task. Rumours about work differences with co-star Sonam did the rounds while buzz has it that the actor also turned up late on the sets and threw a fit over the kissing scene.

Whatever is there, it is done very aesthetically and it is a classic romance, a family film," he contests. As for Sonam, the actor shares she is a very fun girl.

(less)Review: Vishnu is just an ordinary flick
But unlike "Only Vishnuvardhana" which was released a week earlier, this film does not use the name of the iconic actor extensively and show the clips of his many films. But a photograph of Abhijit and Vishnuvardhan is displayed with a note that the film has been dedicated to the late actor.
The film has a revenge-based story which is full of commercial elements like action and thrills. A little bit of comedy is also thrown in with actor Bullet Prakash trying to pull a few comedy punches here and there.
But the story is too predictable to sustain any interest among the audience. Even the technical value of the film is below the average standards that are exhibited in many contemporary Kannada films.
The camera work is pathetic but the graphics work is slightly better. Krupakar has done just average work in his music compositions.
The first half is badly narrated while the second half is little interesting. But overall, the film suffers from low quality of production and a haphazard narration.
Vishnu is a do-gooder who comes to his native village to help one of his friends who is trying to marry his lover -- the daughter of a village ruffian who torments the villagers. When Vishnu finds that most of the villagers treat him specially and give a lot of respect, he goes deep into the reasons for such reverence.
He understands it is all because of his father Narasimha who tried to protect the villagers and do good things for the benefit of the village. His attempts to help out the villagers for constructing a lake are not to the liking of his relatives who kill him.
Vishnu avenges the death of his father by killing his relatives responsible for the murder. Abhijit's attempt to have a new look in both the roles has not yielded good results.
His hair styling is atrocious. However, he has excelled in action sequences.
The film's heroine Catherine is only there for her glamour quotient and nothing else. The veteran actors, including Ashish Vidyarthi and Sharath Lohitashwa who play the villain's roles, just shout and scream rather than showing their talents.

(less)Sanjay Dutt wants Anil Kapoor to ditch Sanjay Gupta!
According to sources, Dutt has been sending Anil Kapoor feelers asking the latter actor not to be part of the film Shootout At Wadala. Shootout At Wadala , Gupta's comeback vehicle is a prequel to the Apoorva Lakhia directed Shootout At Lokhandwala that released in 2007.
Anil Kapoor has been roped in to play encounter specialist Isaque Bagwan in the film alongside John Abraham's portrayal of the dreaded gangster Manya Surve. And Dutt is not happy with this.
A source told Mumbai Mirror, "Dutt has not told Anil directly but he has sent indirect feelers to the actor. Anil, obviously understands where Dutt's sentiments come from.
" Dutt and Gupta, who had been close friends once upon a time, fell out during the making of Shootout of Lokhandwala over some payment issues. However, Anil Kapoor has remained unaffected by Dutt.
According to the industry insiders, apparently Sanjay had also asked John not to do Gupta's film. However, that was a while back when John was still contemplating signing the film.
Seems like Sanjay Dutt's next targets could be Vidya Balan and Nana Patekar, who Gupta is interested in roping in for the very film. Despite repeated attempts, Anil Kapoor and Sanjay Dutt remained unavailable for comment.
However, Dharam Oberoi, the CEO of Dutt's production house said, "India is a free country. Why would Dutt ask Anil not to do Gupta's film? In fact, when John asked Dutt about the film, it was Dutt who asked him to go ahead and do it.
Also, Dutt and John are good friends."

(less)Madhur Bhandarkar faces trial for rape
The court has issued summons to Bhandarkar for October 18. Metropolitan magistrate B B Pantawane observed that before lodging the FIR, Jain had sent a legal notice to Bhandarkar in July 2004.
The filmmaker however, chose not to reply, thus showing that he did not refute the allegations at the first available opportunity. Referring to the B-summary report (a report wherein the police categorise a given case as false) filed by the Investigating Officer, the court also observed that the officer should not have reached to any conclusion on his own.
Jain, needless to say was visibly happy after the order. The aspiring actress who was present in court said that she had full faith in God and the judiciary.
Jain had filed a case of rape and criminal intimidation against Bhandarkar at the Versova Police station over 7 years back - in July 2004. She had alleged that Bhandarkar had intercourse with her 17 times between 2000 and 2003, making false promises of marriage and a big role in a good film.
In November 2009, the police had filed a report in the Andheri court stating that the relationship between Bhandarkar and Jain was by mutual consent. The report also stated that Jain had filed the complaint "only to teach him a lesson as he didn't give her a role of the leading actress in his film".
This report was strongly contested by Jain through her advocate Sushan Kunjuraman. They had argued that there were enough precedents from the Supreme Court about testimony of the victim being enough to convict an accused in a rape case.
Based on his submissions, the Magistrate rejected the report and ordered an inquiry in November 2009. During this inquiry, Jain's statement was recorded by the court and compared with statements of other witnesses recorded by the police, after which the order was passed on Monday against Bhandarkar, who was represented by advocates Shrikant Shivade and Shreyansh Mithare.
Talking to Mumbai Mirror, Madhur Bhandarkar said that after going through the order in detail he would challenge it in higher courts. "As the lower court has issued a process against me for a case which has been going on for 7 years, I would like to say that after reading the judgment, we will challenge this order in higher courts to seek justice," stated the filmmaker.
Talking about the case, Madhur revealed, "Initially, on 12th July 2004, Pretti Jaiin had sent a legal notice to me stating that if I do not cast her in my film as the leading lady within the next 48 hours, she would adopt necessary criminal and civil legal proceedings against me. There was no mention of rape charges in that notice.
On July 9, 2004, we came to know that she had sent a legal notice to a certain Mr Sohail Khan, an upcoming music director, stating that she is pregnant with his child. On July 22, the same year, she filed a complaint with the police alleging me of rape.
" The filmmaker further added, "I would like to mention that Pretti Jaiin was arrested for hatching a plot to eliminate me in 2005, with the help of the underworld. She was arrest by Agripada police station and was behind bars for almost a month.
I have full faith and respect for the judiciary and I am confident of proving myself innocent." -With inputs from Kunal M Shah

SAIFF earlier screened films like "That Girl In Yellow Boots" and "Paan Singh Tomar"
(less)Vidya Balan is the one for Ghanchakkar
Rajkumar's friend revealed that Emraan's The Dirty Picture co-star Vidya Balan is one of the top names on the list of contenders. "There are many reasons for Vidya to agree to do the project.
First, she is very fond of Rajkumar after they worked together in No One Killed Jessica and since its release he has been pursuing the actress to work with him again. With Emraan playing the male lead in Ghanchakkar, Vidya has another reason to do the film.
They worked well as an on-screen couple in The Dirty Picture. Finally, Vidya's friendship with UTV's Siddharth Roy Kapur would be a bonus reason for her to take on the project," explained Rajkumar's friend.
When contacted, Rajkumar admitted his attempts to get Vidya on-board. He told us, "At the moment I am neither confirming nor denying Vidya's role in Ghanchakkar.
She is my first choice. It'd be a delight to get her to try out an entirely new genre.
She not only jells well with Emraan, but is also apt for the character."
(less)Love Breakups Zindagi: Movie Review
This zillionth Bollywood spin-off on the second half of Kuch Kuch Hota Hai is no different! Jai (Zayed Khan) and Naina (Dia Mirza) are in their individual mismatched relationships. Until they meet in a common friend's wedding.
Amidst song-dance routine, cupid strikes Jai by the interval point. Naina is uncertain until her doting mother advices ' wahi karo jo tumhara dil kehta hai ' (how pioneering and profound!) Alas she takes a little too long to decide while the viewer has already reached to the conformist conclusion.
Till date, Bollywood has devised only two alternatives for the climax of a film like this. In the feel good format, the other man willingly decides to let go his ladylove for the main hero (like Salman Khan did in Kuch Kuch Hota Hai ).
The other option is when this other man acts difficult (Jimmy Sheirgill in Tanu Weds Manu ). This film belongs to the former feel-good variety.
While the film could have brought some variety with its other assorted couples, the problem with the writing is that all the supporting tracks are half-baked. Jai's friend (Cryus Sahukar) falls for a 'Sheila' (Tisca Chopra) who isn't exactly 'jawaan'.
While this odd-aged couple has its moments of charm and comedy, their bonding could certainly have been explored in a better way. The girl from Dairy Milk ad (Umang Jain) has graduated to having ice-creams here after her multiple break-offs, but her sweet revenge spree was far from funny.
The film does have a lighthearted mood throughout but one does feel that its sense of humour, though not bad, could have been more fine-tuned and sharp. While this brand of comedy is anytime better than a senseless slapstick, there is a feeling that the film could have been funnier.
At the same time while the director tries to keep things subtle and avoid melodrama, some situations lack the basic intensity that the drama demands. Like Jai's breakup with his first girlfriend (Pallavi Sharda) comes across so casually that it seems as if nothing has happened.
The pacing is slow and the length is a little too long for a predictable film. Zayed Khan and Dia Mirza share good chemistry and are decent in their acts.
Dia has a natural charm. Cyrus Sahukar underplays his character and is the butt of most jokes.
Tisca Chopra looks delightful despite playing a (slightly) elderly female. Umang Jain is cute but has a short-lived character.
Vaibhav Talwar plays in a limited range but pulls off his part. Satyadeep Mishra is good.
Pallavi Sharda and Auritra Ghosh get no scope. From all the special appearances, Boman Irani is hilarious and leaves more impact that Shah Rukh Khan who doesn't do much beyond playing himself and endorsing furniture brand.
Director Sahil Singha doesn't show any innovation in the storytelling of his debut venture but he still has the command to bring a smile on your face, thanks to the breezy romance and the film's optimistic outlook. While being conventional cinema, it isn't essentially exasperatingly cliched.
Neither utterly lovely nor breakthrough! Love Breakups Zindagi is that variety of predictable cinema that is passable
(less)I’m done with dumb roles: Sameera Reddy
Moreover, the director of her upcoming film Tezz , Priyadarshan, has been conferred with the fourth highest civilian award of the country, the Padma Shri. "I told Priyadarshan sir that he should receive one of those titles.
He would say, 'I feel humbled, but that's a great achievement and beyond my expectations.' Both Shabana Azmiji (who won the Padma Bhushan) and Priyadarshan sir are close to me.
So when their names were announced, I called them up. 'We are so humbled,' is what they both said to me," says Sameera.
The actor also says that she's going to be more picky about the roles she chooses. "I want to play more performance-oriented characters.
I'm done playing dumb, good-looking girl roles," she says. Ask Sameera if she is hinting at the lukewarm response to Vedi, her Tamil outing with Vishal in which she played exactly that kind of role, and she says, "I cannot pinpoint one particular film.
After Vaaranam Aayiram, I did few roles that required me to look and act in a certain way. I became synonymous with such characters.
That's why for my film with Maddy, I told director Lingusamy that I would play the role of a village girl. I want to do what Simran and Jyothika did in Kollywood.
" And finally, has Sameera been in touch with celebrity television anchor Oprah Winfrey , whom she recently met in Mumbai? "Since Oprah loved the sari I was wearing at the do at which I met her, I sent her a similar one as a gift. I consider the souvenir a representation of our country and I hope it will be one of her memories of her India visit," says Sameera
(less)Kangana hopes 2012 will be landmark year
"In 2011, a very important film of mine like 'Tanu Weds Manu' came and even 'Double Dhamaal' did well. Even those films which didn't do too well, my work was appreciated in them.
So, it could be a landmark year for me," said Kangana at the launch of an eye wear here. "And now the kind of films I have signed.
..
I have already signed big franchises like 'Ishqiya', 'Krrish', and 'Tanu Weds Manu'..
.so I have good projects.
..
even 2012 could be a landmark year for me," she added. The list consists mostly of sequels, but Kangana is not complaining.
"It is just coincidence. I have been quite lucky to have such franchises that are definitely going to get a lot of attention and good opening weekends because the earlier sequences have been so popular and successful," she said.
Kangana's last release was " Miley Na Miley Hum" opposite debutant Chirag Paswan. She will start 2012 with the release of "Tezz".
Directed by Priyadarshan, the film also stars Anil Kapoor, Zayed Khan, Mohanlal and Ajay Devgan. After debuting with 2006 movie "Gangster - A Love Story", Kangana also featured with Hrithik Roshan in "Kites" and won National Award for her performance in "Fashion"

P. Aggarwal, chairman, Film Federation of India will be given lifetime achievement awards, according to Daya Nand Vats, general secretary of the Sangh.
The hero of all-time hit award goes to actor Anil Kapoor. NDTV has been named the best Hindi news channel, while Asian Academy of Film and TV has been named the best institute for film and TV.

A pet project, Shahid has been closely involved with all aspectsfrom production to marketing, but he confirms it was his "Dad who called the shots". "You don't improvise when Dad is around," he laughs.
Prod him about his father being a tough taskmaster and he says, "It was a great experience working with him. Dad was born in Ludhiana and he has fond memories of his young days.
It is the same setting that we have tried to recreate in the film, which is an epic love story, a film larger than life". As for the love letters, Shahid reveals it was one of the exercises the actors undertook.
" Apart from that cellphones are generally not used on the sets Reportedly, sharing screen space with Sonam was not an easy task. Rumours about work differences with co-star Sonam did the rounds while buzz has it that the actor also turned up late on the sets and threw a fit over the kissing scene.
"The film is bigger than this kind of news. I don't really want to comment on this.
Whatever is there, it is done very aesthetically and it is a classic romance, a family film," he contests. As for Sonam, the actor shares she is a very fun girl.
"We have gotten to know each other better over the one and a half year and have become good friends. She will always be special to me for sharing this film," gushes Shahid.
Hope it doesn't change with season? Up next, the actor will be seen in Kunal Kohli's untitled film, playing three different characters and he will be teamed up with Priyanka again. The actor refuses to comment on the film.
Meanwhile, he confirms he hasn't signed on the dotted line for Ekta Kapoor's Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai 2 , where he was set to play Chotta Rajan
(less)No love triangle in Aarakshan: Deepika Padukone
How much scope do you have in a male-dominated political drama like Aarakshan? Well I believe that the character that I play of Purbi Anand has a very strong and important voice in the film. She's a girl who is torn between her father and boyfriend when the issue of Aarakshan flares up.
She idolizes her father, loves her boyfriend but at the same time understands the situation and where both of them are coming from. The decision that she makes thereon is important.
What is your personal take on reservations? It's an issue that I've always been very aware of. But having done the film, it's very difficult for me to tell whether I am for it or against it because I know both sides of the story now.
I know the implications and the complications that it has and I don't even know what the solution to it is. Does the film take any stance towards reservations? The film doesn't talk about pro or anti reservations.
What it does is states facts and reality like it is in our country today. Aarakshan is facing a lot of opposition for its theme.
..
Since it is such a sensitive issue, I am not surprised that certain people have certain issues with the film. Having said that, being a part of the film, I believe it is unfair for people to react at a stage when they haven't seen the film.
Ok, the promos are suggesting certain things but you still don't know what the entire film is about. So I feel until you have seen the entire film, one shouldn't really judge it.
What is the one thing you learnt from Amitabh Bachchan? I can't say I learnt one thing from Amitabh Bachchan. It has been an overall learning experience - watching him interact with people, the way he is on the sets, the way he performs in front of the camera.
The minute he walks in the room, he has this certain energy and aura about him. He made me feel very comfortable, instilled a lot of confidence in me and he's also fun to work with.
Don't you think Saif is too suave and sophisticated to play a Dalit? I think this is where the fact that he is a good actor comes into play. A lot of people felt that because of, say maybe, his personal lineage or the fact that he has played only certain kind of roles that he can't play certain other kind of roles.
But I think what he did in Omkara was a classic example of that. He took people by surprise and won awards and acclaim for that film.
Is there a love triangle between Saif, Prateik and you in the film? No there isn't a love triangle. The conflict for me is of three different kinds.
One is with my father whom I worship and idolize and look up to. The issues I have with my friend (Prateik) and my love (Saif) are separate.
Which was the most difficult part of working in Aarakshan? I think to hold my own amongst so many male characters within the film was really challenging for me. Finally, given a chance, which actor/director would you want to reserve for yourself? I think I would want to reserve an entire classroom so that I can have many actors and directors in that.

(less)DU boy turns director
Several years later, today, Ajay is getting set to direct his first movie based in Delhi. The 33-year-old says, "I've worked with Gulzar sa'ab on documentaries, short movies, etc, and have also worked on the film "Good Boy Bad Boy".
But I wanted to tell my own story and I had to base it in Delhi." Ajay says Gulzar is his mentor, and tells us that he's also penning the lyrics for the film, besides being the creative supervisor.
Says Ajay, "It's a romantic story that travels from Jaipur and Mumbai to Delhi. We're shooting all over Delhi, including at Jama Masjid, Qutub Minar, Defence Colony, GK, South Ex, etc.
We start in September. There's also a Holi song that will be shot in Delhi, and a qawwali at Jama Masjid.

(less)Sanjna Kapoor quits Prithvi theatre
She was taking along with her trusted associate of nine years, Sameera Iyengar. The mantle of Prithvi theatre now falls on her brother, ad filmmaker Kunal Kapoor , who was also present at the meeting.
While Kunal remained unavailable for comment, Sanjna said, "I kept saying that I would leave when Prithvi would grow up, but it hasn't, so I've decided to leave the baby at home. Jokes aside, I think the theatre has really grown and it's the perfect time to leave.
There are new townships and cities being built across this country without any theatre venue - the suburbs of Mumbai have also grown and there are no cultural spaces to engage people. Junoon will fill that vacuum.
"
(less)Ajay Devgn and Anil Kapoor: Partners in crime
They would then shortlist the titles that could be remade into Bollywood films." Incidentally, the film they were shooting for is supposed to be a copy of Keanu Reeves-starrer Speed
(less)Mohanlal's Tezz cameo enrages his fans
Signs of swelling dissent are already evident. The first promotional trailer of Tezz has Ajay Devgn and Anil Kapoor in spotlight, while Mohanlal is seen fleetingly.
Tezz producer Ratan Jain admits to being taken aback by the uproar.
"Frankly we didn't expect this. We didn't mean to undermine Mohanlalji's stature at all.
He sportingly agreed to play a cameo part because of his proximity to Priyadarshan. The heroes of our film are Ajay Devgn and Anil Kapoor.
But if Mohanlalji's fans are upset, we've to do something about it," Jain said. "We're taking care of the situation.
The next promo will feature Mohanlalji prominently." An interesting sidelight to the Mohanlal-Devgn poster war is that Tezz was meant to be pitched as Devgn's next action film after Singham .
But now with the Mohanlal fans demanding attention to him in the promotional footage, it would be difficult to hightlight the action aspect in the plot. "We're looking into it.
We need to be fair to all our actors," said Jain. Tweet
(less)Shahid Kapoor refuses Vishal Bharadwaj’s next
Citing date problems, Shahid too has now refused to be a part of the filmmaker's upcoming comedy. A source told Mumbai Mirror, "After Ajay Devgn said no to MKBKM, Vishal thought Shahid would be a good choice opposite Anushka since their film Badmaash Company was received well by the audiences and critics.
However, Shahid has refused to be a part of the project since he is busy with Kunal Kohli's film Muqtassar and then Siddharth Anand's remake of Knight and Day." While some may attribute Shahid's refusal to thecreative differences he had with the filmmaker during the making of Kaminey, our source revealed, "Shahid is now fine with Vishal.
He really had date issues with MKBKM. He will definitely do Kaminey 2 with him next year, woh pakka hai.
" "Shahid is very keen on working with different directors. He has three films that will go on floors next year apart from his current projects.
His schedule is choc-a-bloc right now. He has given out bulk dates to his next films," added the source.
While Vishal remained unavailable for comment, Shahid who is holidaying in Europe with his friends chose to remain silent as well
(less)The fate of Bollywood movies in 2012: Part 2
13) Talaash (Releasing on 1st June 2012. Verdict: Hit):- The title of this Aamir-Rani -Kareena starrer adds up to Number 18 - which is not a positive octave of Number 9.
There are some films which have the 'luck' attached to it and 'Talaash' may just click simply because of that factor. Aamir (14th March 1965) will be entering his 48th year soon which once again is a great phase for him and that's the film biggest trump card.
Even Rani Mukherji (21st March 1978) and Kareena Kapoor's (21st September 1980) fortunes are riding high and the film will ensure superb collection. Tip: When you have actors with a midas touch, half the battle is won.
14) Rowdy Rathore (Releasing on 15th June 2012. Verdict: Flop):- The title of this UTV and Sanjay Leela Bhansali venture adds up to Number 46 - which is a favorable number.
But actor Akshay Kumar (9th September 1967) running in his 45th year is passing through a topsy-turvy phase in his career. While the film and his role will be appreciated by a few, a certain section of the audience may just dislike it totally.
After a successful debut, Sonakshi Sinha (2nd June 1987) may also receive mixed reviews. Tip: The UTV -Sanjay Leela Bhansali collaboration seems to be jinxed.
15) Teri Meri Kahaani (Releasing on 22nd June 2012. Verdict: Flop):- The title of this Kunal Kohli produced and directed enterprise is adding up to Number 36 - which is a lucky number promising authority, power and command.
But like there is a saying 'Man proposes, God disposes' - the year 2012 (Number 5 - Mercury) does not support anything to do with Number 9 ( Mars ) and hence the film will fail to even take off. The compound number arrived by adding the release date is also Number 5 which will further mar the prospects of this love story.
Even the lead pairs Shahid Kapoor (25th February 1981) and Priyanka Chopra's (18th July 1982) real life on - off romance may not be able to attract people in hordes and salvage the show. Tip: Shahid in his 31st year may not have a memorable 2012 while Priyanka in her 30th year might have to remain happy just with prasises galore for doing good work.
16) Dangerous Ishq (Releasing in June 2012. Verdict: Hit):- The title of this Vikram Bhatt thriller adds up to Number 46 - one of the most powerful octaves of Number 1.
It is also amongst the best numbers for the supremely talented Karisma Kapoor (25th June1974) who's making her comeback after a hiatus with this 3D film. She running in her 38th year will prove extremely lucky for her and it will rub off on the film as well.
Tip: For best results, the film should release on 22nd June 2012. 17) Barfii (Releasing in July 2012.
Verdict: Flop):- The title of this long in the making film is vibrating on Number 15 - which is a very lucky and powerful octave of Number 6 with strong magnetism, but also has a certain voluptuous temperament. Going by the meaning derived from it, the film will appeal only to a class audience and the rest may remain indifferent.
Both Ranbir (28th September 1982) and Priyanka (18th July 1982) in their 30th year will give award worthy performances but the box office rewards would clearly be missing. Tip: The film was originally spelled as 'Barfee'.
The makers should immediately go back to that spelling as it vibrated on a much better Number 23 (Mercury) which is directly supporting the year 2012. 18) Bol Bachchan (Releasing on 6th July 2012.
Verdict: Hit):- The title of this Ajay Devgn-Abhishek Bachchan action comedy is adding up to Number 37 - which is 'good news' as it is a very favorable number. Whil Abhishek (5th February 1976) will bring in the laughs and pull the house down, Ajay (2nd April 1969) will succeed in adding a dose of thrill.
Tip: The trio of Ajay Devgn-Abhishek Bachchan-Rohit Shetty which did not find many takers in their last attempt 'Zameen' will be hitting the 'bulls eye' this time. 18) Ek Tha Tiger (Releasing in August 2012.
Verdict: Super Hit):- The title of this Eid attraction coming from Yashraj Films vibrates on Number 32 - which is a lucky number usually associated with combinations of people and nations. Just that the person should hold to his/her own judgment and opinions, if not, his/her plans are likely to become wrecked by the stubbornness and stupidity of others.
The year 2012 which adds up to Number 5 (Mercury) being directly in sync with the name of the film would make it one of the biggest hits of the year. Salman (27th December 1965) in his 47th year and Katrina (16th July 1984) in her 29th are capable of breaking all box office records.
Tip: As the exact release date hasn't been decided, coming on 3rd or 24th August would be the best option. 19) Joker (Releasing on 30th August 2012.
Verdict: Hit):- The title of this fantasy adventure 3D film adds up to Number 17 which is an extremely fortunate number. Plus the year 2012 (Number 5 - Mercury) is supportive of people, places, names etc.
which vibrate on Number 8 (Saturn) and hence the film may actually turn out to be a delightful experience. Akshay (9th September 1967) in his 45th year would be liked for his work while Sonakshi (2nd June 1987) would also make her presence felt.
Tip: Director Shirish Kunder may finally get it 'right' this time. 20) Raaz 3 (Releasing on 31st August 2012.
Verdict: Hit):- The title of this 3D horror film adds up to Number 14 - which is fortunate for dealings with money, speculation and changes in business, but there is always a strong element of risk and danger attached to it, generally owing to the actions and foolhardiness of others. From the meaning derived from it, this one will take you on an enjoyable ride and everyone involved with the project from actors Emraan Hashmi, Sunny Leone, Rahul Bhatt and director Vikram Bhatt will tend to gain from this project.
Tip: Vikram will complete his 'hat-trick' with the success of this film. 21) Heroine (Releasing in September 2012.
Verdict: Hit):- The title of this Madhur Bhandarkar production adds up to Number 30 - which is good, but nothing great. His most ambitious project till date, Madhur is likely to receive both bouquets and flak/ brick bats in this Bollywoodised version of his own 'Fashion'.
Kareena (21st September 1980) in her 33rd year will be loved across the board for putting her heart, sweat and blood in a role which most actresses wait for a lifetime to play on screen. Tip: The movie will turn to be too much of a predictable fare who people who always expect something different Madhur every time.
22) Khiladi 786 (Releasing in November 2012. Verdict: Flop):- The title of this Akshay Kumar - Himesh Reshammiya jointly produced and enacted film is vibrating on Number 38 - which is a very unlucky number.
It denotes uncertainties and treachery. It foreshadows trials, tribulation, unexpected dangers, unreliable friends and deception caused by members of the opposite sex.
It gives grave warning if it comes out in anything concerning future events. Akshay (9th September 1967) who is Number 9 (Mars) person does not gel with a Number 5 (Mercury) at all and fellow partner Himesh (23rd July 1973) is directly ruled by this number.
A perfect recipe for a 'disaster'. As a result, the movie will be a box office dud.
Tip: Their association will soon go kaput and this may be their first and last project together. 23) Race 2 (Releasing on 30th November 2012.
Verdict: Hit):- The vibration of the sequel to the 2008 hit film is summing up to Number 13 - contrary to popular belief, this number is not unfortunate. Just that, it is symbolized as a power which should not be misused or it may wreak destruction upon itself.
In short, the second part will turn out to be a bigger success and all the actors namely Saif Ali Khan (16th August 1970), Anil Kapoor (24th December 1959), John Abraham (17th December 1972), Deepika Padukone (5th January 1986), Jacqueline Fernandez (2nd June 1985) and Ameesha Patel (9th June 1975) will 'race' ahead in their respective careers post the release of this film. Tip: The movie should hit the screens on 23rd November 2012 as that's the best date to extract fantastic results.
24) Son Of Sardar (Releasing on 30th November 2012. Verdict: Flop):- The title of this Ajay Devgn produced venture is adding up to Number 43 - which is an unfortunate number symbolized by the signs of revolution, upheaval, strife, failure and prevention.
The film may draw unnecessary attention due to some controversy or the other during its release, but even that may not impress the audiences to make a beeline outside cinemas. Tip: Even powerhouse performers like Ajay Devgn (2nd April 1969) and Sanjay Dutt's (29th July 1959) antics may fail to draw enough attention.
25) Dabangg 2 (Releasing in December 2012. Verdict: Super Hit):- The title of this sequel to the 2010 blockbuster film vibrates on Number 21 - which is symbolized by the picture of 'the Universe' and it is also called 'the Crown of the Magi'.
It is a number of advancement, honors, elevation in life and general success. This one will break the records of the first part and many other films released during the year 2012.
Every section of the audience will simply lap this film up without giving any second thoughts and it would make this - the highest grossing film of the year. Tip: The best is reserved for the last in 2012.
Releasing the film on the 14th or the 21st of December will be my advice to producer and first time director Arbaaz Khan

(less)Hit or miss: B'wood takes a call on Writers’ Association’s latest move
This will eventually save time for the writer since there won't be any need to physically go and submit their work at the association's office. While this move has been received well by some, a section of the industry still feels that an online portal will only make writers more susceptible to fraud.
Here's what the industry-wallahs have to say about it. Mukesh Bhatt , Film Producer I don't know how this is going to protect the writers.
We need to protect the writers from crooks. There are lesser scriptwriters and more cunning people in the industry.
Writers need to be protected from them. If you want money, you will go to the bank.
You can't sit in the house. If I have to make a movie, I have to know my actor and director.
Can you get a passport online? Can you get an election id card online? This will open up opportunities for those cunning people to take advantage and more false cases will be filed randomly. Siddharth Jain , CEO, I Rock Films It is a fantastic move by the association and the writers don't have to travel all the way to the office to submit their script.
They can register their ideas online. Ajay Monga , Director Life definitely becomes a lot more convenient with this.
However, FWA is a trade union without much legal standing. It is only for writers to feel good that they have someone to back them.
Nothing is moving in the right direction. Jalees Sherwani , president, FWA Our members are all over India.
When we planned the website, we wanted this feature to be a part of it. Earlier, one had to personally come or send someone but with this feature the registration along with the payments can be done online
(less)Ajay Devgn avoids clash with Ranbir Kapoor
Sources say that he called up producer Ratan Jain and asked him to shift the release date of Tezz. "Imtiaz Ali's film had booked the date before Tezz, so Ajay thought it was prudent to move Tezz rather than ask the other film to move.
Ajay shares a good rapport with Ranbir since Raajneeti and did not want a clash with him," says the source. "Also, Ajay is close to Ashtavinayak, who are has produced Rockstar.
The Golmaal series, which has added to Ajay's stardom, has been produced by Ashtavinayak," adds the source. Ratan Jain remained unavailable for comment

(less)I've never been a part of any camp: Priyanka Chopra
At least professionally. When faced with personal questions about rumours of her special friendship with Shah Rukh Khan, the actress fidgets and declares, "I will not talk about this.
I shall never talk about this." However, when it comes to her films, the actress doesn't shy away from answering.
About her upcoming Dharma Productions venture 'Agneepath', the actress gushes, "I am nervous and excited. Reports have been brilliant.
They have liked Hrithik (Roshan), Sanju ( Sanjay Dutt ) and my work. More than anything, they have loved the film.
I'm very proud of Karan (Malhotra, the director) as this is his first film and I'm his first heroine. For me, it's not a remake.
I hadn't even seen the original 'Agneepath' till I signed this film. Also my role has been written fresh.
" And this film strengthens her bond with Karan Johar and Dharma. She had earlier worked with the production house in 'Dostana'.
Though she is not doing 'Dostana 2', "My love story ended in the first part when I walked away with Bobby Deol" being the actress' reason for the same, her relationship with the production house has remained. "Miami to Mandva.
It was lovely working with Dharma again. As an actor, you don't involve yourself with the production much.
You're closer to the director," says the actress. Despite her proximity to Dharma, her relationship with Yash Raj Films is reportedly not as strong.
Rumour has it that Yash Raj did not keep its promise of offering her a big film after she agreed to do a small project 'Pyaar Impossible'. However, the actress maintains that it wasn't YRF she was working for but Uday Chopra Productions.
Good with a section of the industry and not too close to the rest, this is Priyanka's career graph in a nutshell. However, with single minded determination and what trade analyst Amod Mehra calls 'luck' the actress despite being shunned some, has managed to maintain her position in Bollywood.
The actress has also tried to hold on to the few 'good' relations she has in the industry. For example, despite delivering an award winning performance for Madhur Bhandarkar in 'Fashion', the filmmaker's next project 'Heroine' finally had Kareena Kapoor.
But the actress doesn't begrudge him that. "I couldn't have done that role.
Working on a similar plot did not make sense for Madhur and me. We spoke about the film several times.
I'm glad that Kareena's doing it. Both of them will work very well.
" Priyanka puts up a brave front on her reported alienation from the Salman Khan camp. "I have worked with every co-actor possible.
I don't come from a film background. I don't have relationships with people in terms of uncles and aunts.
I have been an outsider. Wherever I'm today is due to the support of this film industry.
They have given big films and amazing work to me. It hasn't been because of any director, production house, actor or a person.
I have never been a part of any camp. I respect every co-actor tremendously and equally.
I would work with anyone," declares the actress. As for her not having worked ever with the third Khan of the triumvirate, Aamir, she simply laughs, "Ask Aamir.
If the offer hasn't come to me yet, what can I say about it?" While in hushed tones, insiders do cite her friendship with Shah Rukh as the reason of her alienation from the other Khans, when questioned about her rise and rise in Bollywood, they all agree upon one thing - her professionalism. According to Suneel Darshan, who gave her the first break with 'Andaaz', " Priyanka is not the conventional beauty like Kareena Kapoor.
Despite that, she has done very well for herself. Knowing well that the perks of stardom can be really high, she has set her goals accordingly.
There is determination written all over her face. When it comes to her, there is hardly anything left between the apple and the arrow.
" But trade analyst Amod Mehra feels differently. "Kareena is number one.
Katrina is on number two. And Priyanka who was once on the second position is now on number three.
That's because Priyanka has made all the wrong choices and given many flops - '7 Khoon Maaf', 'Kaminey', 'What's Your Rashee', 'Drona'. I would say that she has been lucky," says Mehra and adds, "Also, she has limited choices.
Her big star bracket is restricted to SRK and Hrithik. Salman doesn't want to work with her.
Aamir hasn't worked with her yet. She hasn't worked much with Ajay Devgn.
And she can't work with Akshay Kumar." Filmmaker Ratan Jain who worked with Priyanka in 'Aap Ki Khatir' however seems to be almost on the same page as Darshan.
Maintaining that films in Bollywood depend on the male actor, Jain says, "Priyanka is a very popular actress. She is an excellent performer too.
Else, why would she be cast in so many movies? Note that she has also improved her acting abilities over the years."
(less)The big fight on Jan 26
The Salman-Kareena starrer Bodyguard released on Eid, SRK's dream project RA.One has been slated to release on Diwali and his other venture Don 2 will have a Christmas release.
And now we hear that filmmakers Priyadarshan and Reema Kagti are both vying for a Republic Day release next year. Priyadarshan's action-thriller Tezz, starring Ajay Devgn, was supposed to release on November 11 but to avert a clash with Imtiaz Ali's Rockstar, the director and producers Venus decided to postpone the film's release to January 26.
However, a source informed us that the Aamir Khan starrer directed by Reema Kagti, which is still untitled, is scheduled to release on the same day. Reportedly, the Tezz producers are trying hard to convince the producers of Kagti's film to postpone their release as they had already blocked the coveted Republic Day weekend first.
When contacted, Sanjeev Lamba CEO Reliance Big Pictures confirmed that Kagti's film was slated to release on January 26. He said, "That's the planned date.
" The source said, "There was no sign of Kagti's film with Aamir releasing on January 26, when the Tezz producers Venus announced their film. And now suddenly the Aamir film shows up catching the Tezz produers off guard.
Now they've no choice but to shift." Ratan Jain of Venus said, "I am not aware about the other film.
But we will be releasing our film on 26 January." When informed that Reliance is sure about its release date for the Kagti film, Jain reluctantly admitted, "We might have to move by a week.
When we selected January 26, we were not aware of any other film on the same date." Apparently, Dibakar Bannerjee also plans to release his Emraan Hashmi-Abhay Deol starrer Shanghai on January 26

(less)Ameesha Patel in Race 2
The cast will also include Deepika Padukone, John Abraham, Sonakshi Sinha and Anil Kapoor. She tells us more.
..
How does it feel to be part of a successful franchise like "Race"? It feels phenomenal. It's a great feeling.
"Race 2" is a big film to be associated with. This year has been amazing for me, from turning producer to going back to working with Abbas-Mustan.
I am also thrilled to be working with Saif after "Thoda Pyaar Thoda Magic". The sequel is steamier, racier, and with more twists and turns.
How did this role come to you? I've worked with Abbas-Mustan and Ramesh Taurani before. Since I have a great working relationship with the entire team, it was something that I accepted in a heartbeat.
Tell us about your character. I play a super sexy, glamorous girl.
I can't reveal much, but this is definitely one of the most exciting roles I have done. How are you preparing for it? Luckily, I have been in great shape, but I plan to continue working out and don't want to compromise on my fitness.
I will follow the director's vision and adhere to the kind of look they want from me. I also have a strict diet with my workout schedule.
You are sharing screen with Deepika Padukone and Sonakshi Sinha. Will there be friction on the sets? Not at all.
We get along like a house on fire. I am very friendly with Sonakshi as I have met her at Salman's place a couple of times.
Deepika is someone I am looking forward to work with. We will have a great time and it is a superb star cast.
I will be sharing most of my scenes with the girls, so there is a lot of anticipation and excitement. Are you apprehensive about having to wear skimpy outfits? Not at all.
I fully trust Abbas-Mustan. We have worked together in the past, so I have full faith in them.
Even during "Thoda Pyaar Thoda Magic", I was thrilled with the response I got to the "Lazy Lamhe" song. I don't have any inhibitions for the role.
What is happening on your production front? There's a lot happening. There are projects planned with David Dhawan and Priyadarshan.
Also, Kunal (Goomer) has been a great support with his amazing business sense. He's a trustworthy partner and we have some amazing things lined up

"When you are working, you are not thinking about male or female co-stars. I would talk about all the co-stars.
I am blessed to have such co-stars in the film. It was fun.
We travelled extensively for the film, we stayed away from our homes. They became like an extended family," said Bipasha whose infamous spat with Kareena Kapoor at the beginning of her career made headlines.

(less)Ajay Devgn, Akshay Kumar gear up for some action
The two biggest action heroes of present day Bollywood have decided to come together for Rohit Shetty's next action flick that will go on floors late next year. The news of the patch-up has shocked the entire industry because from the very get-go, when Akshay and Ajay worked together in Sandesh Kohli's 1994 film, they were never able to see eye-to-eye.
Tensions between Akshay and Ajay escalated to a new high when Ajay announced that his next project would tentatively be titled Son Of Sardar, which incidentally was already registered under Akshay's banner Hari Om Entertainment (Mumbai Mirror, July 23, 2011). However, the same subject of dispute ended up being the platform on which Akshay and Ajay made peace.
A source informed us that the two, who last worked together in the 2005 film Insaan, bonded when Ajay went to meet Akki on the sets of Rowdy Rathore to request Khiladi Kumar to part with the film title, Son Of Sardar. "Akshay explained to Ajay that he could not part with the title as he had already finished scripting the film and it would be going on floors very soon.
That is when Akshay proposed that they should do a film together. Ajay loved the idea and they immediately got down to planning the project.
They decided to co-produce the film under both their banners. Ajay also spoke to his close friend Rohit Shetty to direct the venture," explained the source
(less)'Desi Boyz' go from chic to distressed look
Hence it was a task for the designers to make sure they style two different looks of the lead actors. Arora has styled John, who plays a banker in the film, and admits his look has been inspired by Shia LaBeouf's "Wall Street" look.
"John plays a confident banker in the film who is a perfect guy and is about to get married. So it was necessary to dress him up in a way that he is comfortable in and that goes well with his character as well," Arora told IANS.
"As the film is based in London we did a lot of shopping from designer stores. In fact, John's look is inspired by Hollywood actor Shia LaBeouf's look in 'Wall Street'," she said.
Arora has also designed for John in "Force" and so for the corporate look, she has given him chic, stylish clothing. "I have given him suits with banker shirts.
Banker shirts are the ones with white collar and white cuffs, which is accompanied by Oxford ties and pocket handkerchief that completes the corporate look," she said. And as John loses job in the film, the designer has given him a distressed look.
"For the distressed look, he will be seen wearing fun t-shirts, torn, distressed jeans and leather jackets along with worn out boots," said Shymali, adding she has used charcoal grey, blue and black colours for the actor. Similarly, designer Kunal Rawal, who has designed for Akshay in the film, has given two different looks to the 44-year-old actor.
"As Akshay is playing the role of a young London guy. It was important for me to bring those elements, but since I have been in London before, I didn't face much difficulty in understanding the style of the people here," said Rawal.
"Akshay's character in the film goes through an interesting emotional graph so I have used different looks in the film. From glossy look, his outfits shift to peppier ones," he added.
"In the first half of the film, Askhay will be seen in a lot of graphic t-shirts, t-shirts with slogans, winter jackets, denims in lighter tones and fire-fighter pants," Rawal said, adding he has also created a jacket with a sequined tiger at the back for him. And when Akshay's character goes through the lean phase of recession, the actor will be seen sporting love t-shirts, over shirts, blazers and jackets.
"For the colour palette, I have used steel grey, beach blue, purple, black and reds. I haven't given him belts, his outfits have suspenders attached to them," he said.
Rawal also admits that he did visit various designer stores to research, but ended up creating fresh outfits for the actor. "I like to create my own outfits.
For Akshay I have tried to make clothes that are fresh and classy. Designing for Bollywood is different as you are catering to a large number of people.
So it is important that the looks that you design are fresh and exclusive," he said. Directed by Rohit Dhawan, "Desi Boyz" also features Deepika Padukone and Chitrangada Singh and releases Nov 25

. Actor Ajay Devgn who is experiencing a career high with the success of Singham has proved that he has has a marketing mind, too.
The actor's film 'Tezz' directed by Priyadarshan was all set to release in November this year. However, a possible clash with Ranbir Kapoor's 'Rockstar' didn't seem to be a good idea.
Sources inform us that the Ajay-starrer will now release on January 26, 2012. The movie's release date will clash with Aamir Khan's film being directed by Reema Kagti , but the cast and crew of Tezz is all set to take up this challenge.
A source informs us, "The producers have obviously weighed the pros and cons, and taken the decision." With Ajay Devgn proving to have the Midas touch, and with Aamir Khan knowing the tricks of the trade by the back of his hand, this will be one takkar that's going to be good to watch!
