I didn’t say no to Sridevi: Asin
I was shooting in Chennai when I heard about the report that claimed Boneyji had approached me with some film and I refused, that's just impossible," Asin said in a statement. Boney echoed the same saying, "We are working on scripts of "Be Positive" (the sequel of "No Entry") and " Mr.
India 2 ", I am not someone who will approach actors with incomplete scripts. Let the script get completed first, then I will announce the star cast.
" A report said that Asin turned down an offer from Boney citing date problems and her "no" apparently surprised Sridevi who is the young actress' neighbour in Mumbai

Azim looks up to Salman, SRK and Aamir Khan
To make his character in "Qasam Se Qasam Se" appear realistic, Azim frequented call centre offices to absorb the finer nuances of the people working there. "It was quite a relevation for me as an actor.
I witnessed not only people's mannerisms but also the activities they indulge in during the break hour. Looking into the mirror, some guys would be busy ruffling their hair and taking care of their looks, while some would busy binging.
And there would others catching up with family and friends over their cell phones. This has helped shaped my character in the film.
" Azim feels that all our veteran actors were keen observers and would translate that on screen. "Whether it were the legendary actors like Dilip Kumar or the late Raj Kapoor or Dev Anand , they were schools in themselves.
I am a great fan of Salman Khan , Shah Rukh Khan and Aamir Khan and look at them as a student who looks upon his guru. I am mastering the art of acting watching their films," he smiles

My absolute must haves are browns, bronze and red shades of make-up, as they give my skin tone a very nice shine and suit me very well. I always carry these colors in my bag because I never know when I might show up at an event and feel completely under-dressed.
Also, any of these shades really adds that extra glow."

(less)I never thought I'd be a desirable woman: Sameera Reddy
"My name in the list means a lot to me. As as a young girl, I never thought even in my wildest dreams that I would become a desirable woman.
I yearned for a perfect body as I was ugly duckling in school. But now that I have entered films, I believe that beauty is hidden in the imperfections of people and it all depends on how you use them.
That's my definition of desirable and I am glad to have made it to the list," says Sameera. The actor is basking in the success of her last Tamil release opposite Madhavan and has Padma Shri Priyadarshan's Tezz to look forward to.
Sameera has now decided that she will do a mix of performance-oriented and glamorous characters on screen, something that Simran and Jyothika did in Kollywood. So is the report true that Sameera wants to become the next Simran and Jyothika? "You cannot become another person.
I had said that I look up to both Simran and Jyothika, who had a mixed bag of roles- performance-oriented and cute characters. Both had their own fan following .
They are my role models and I want to have a beautiful lineup of characters like them," says the actor
(less)Sherlyn Chopra likes being unconventional
Be it politics, cinema, sports, business or any other arena, women across the globe including India are in great form mentally, physically and consciously to undertake greater responsibilities and tougher challenges that are often encountered on paths less travelled." Sherlyn is also happy that she has gone from being just a pin-up girl to an entrepreneur.
Says she, "The rapid metamorphosis in my case would not have been possible had the mindsets of the majority of the people in the Hindi film industry continued to be goverened by prejudices. I look upto entrepreneurs who command respect and attention for daring to think out of the box and act accordingly.
They do not have a herd mentality. What they have is unadulterated creativity which is set on fire by courage.
" Naming films like " The Dirty Picture ", " Erin Brokovich ", " No One Killed Jessica "," The Black Swan " as cinema that has changed the way we think, Sherlyn says, "Unconventionality is no longer a taboo. It is being applauded and celebrated by both the classes and the masses.
The pulse of the youth is racing towards liberalisation. And I'm truly loving it.
" Asked why she decided to give us photographs that resembled those of the " Jism 2 " campaign, the actor quips, "I have pushed the envelope by choosing to cover my nakedness with nothing but pure consciousness."

If that wasn”t enough she also carried herself on shinning red heels and a matching red color bag. Thankfully Priyanka Chopra and Mugdha Godse too were present and were looking extremely stunning and beautiful.

(less)Flash mob greets Imran at New York University
"I had a blast at NYU. Everyone was so enthusiastic, they put on a very polished, confident show, and the surprise flash mob at the end was perfectly executed.
My best wishes to all the students involved," Imran said in a statement. The students had been practising for the performance for over two weeks, ahead of Imran's visit to New York as part of the promotional tour.
"As the president of NYU Dillagi, a Bollywood dance team, I knew we had to have simpler steps that the general public would be able to do and we sent videos out to the public. I thought that the flash mob came out even better than expected since people kept joining the mob throughout the sequence and it definitely surprised those that did not know of it ahead of time," Mohit Chhatpar, coordinator of the flash mob, said.
"It was really fun to be doing a flash mob and having Imran among us was all the more fun. He was very sporting and interacted with the students.
We are excited about this movie as well and are glad he could come and be among us to talk about his movie," he added. The Dharma Productions' film, also starring Kareena Kapoor, is set to hit theatres Feb 10.

(less)Mohit Suri to direct Aashiqui 2 with fresh faces
"It's been 20 years for that film. So, obviously now I will have to upgrade this story.
It will be the same realistic love story but with a modern theme," Suri told IANS. Aashiqui won critical accolades after its release at the time.
It also catapulted the careers of lead actors Rahul Roy and Anu Agarwal, who forayed into Bollywood with this film. Suri is also set to hunt for new faces for the sequel.
"I will cast fresh faces with a new boy and a new girl," said Mohit. While some are referring to Aashiqui 2 as a sequel, others are calling it a remake.
However, producer Mukesh Bhatt of Vishesh Films sets the record straight. "It is neither a sequel nor a remake.
It can be said as the musical series of Aashiqui ..
.a new generation is making this film," he said.

Rani Mukerji won't marry an actor
She took this job very seriously because she did not want to let her parents down. She also took it up because she wanted to pull her family out of one of the rockiest patches - financially and emotionally - ever.
Fifteen years hence and innumerable awards and accolades later, her life looks like a fairy tale or a Bollywood script that could not have been written any better. In an industry where the shelf life of an actress is getting shorter by the month - even as actors rule the roost for two decades or more - Rani has seen her fair share of ups and downs that have taught her valuable lessons.
In the last few years, she has faltered in terms of choice of films. But one thing that she hasn't forgotten is to do her job well, i.
e. to act.
She takes it up as seriously as she did during the mahurat shot of "Raja Ki Aayegi Baraat" as a 16-year-old. But today, there's more passion than ever, and a mastery of her craft that compels you to appreciate her skills as an actress, even if you aren't her die-hard fan.
After the success of "No One Killed Jessica" early last year, she is awaiting her next two releases this year - the Reema Kagti-directed thriller "Talaash", with Aamir Khan and Kareena Kapoor and Anurag Kashyap's quirky comedy "Aiyya" directed by National Award winning director Sachin Kundalkar. We ask the 'Queen of Bollywood' about the journey during which her job turned into her passion, the girl Rani morphed into the woman who rules hearts and, of course, a certain someone she "is dating".
What are you doing these days? I've just returned from Lonavala where I was shooting for "Aiyya". A few songs are left.
Has the industry changed since you joined films? Immensely. Today, the first look of the film is almost as important as the film itself.
I'm eagerly waiting for the promos of "Talaash", which are to hit the screens soon. It's going to be released in June.
The fact that I'm doing two films that are as different as they can be, in the same year, speaks volumes about how times have changed. It's a far bigger, more diverse than ever industry that's gone global in terms of its scope in every possible way.
Did you always want to become an actress? Arre, my joining films is a poori filmi kahaani. Though I technically come from a film family, my father had stopped making films even before my brother and I were born.
So I did not really grow up in a filmi environment. And when I was growing up, becoming an actress was still quite a taboo.
And you may not believe this but even my father did not want me to join films. Salim (Akhtar) uncle, who was very close to my family, came with the offer of "Aa Gale Lag Jaa" in 1994, but my father was aghast and turned it down.
In the meantime, I joined college (SNDT, Juhu) pursuing Home Science. Those days, the 'in thing' that most girls were going after as a career choice was jewelery and interior designing.
I did not have the money to pursue a `3 lakh course to make a career. And then Salim uncle came back again.
I think he must have been pretty desperate to launch a new actress. This time, he managed to convince my parents.
How did he manage that? (Laughs) When Salim uncle came to me and said he wanted me to act in his film, I started crying. I thought he was making a pass at me.
..
Why on earth..
.? Because I was daft.
And the fact that in those days, acting was still considered a taboo for the girls in my family. My mom's side was okay with it, as my aunt (Bengali actress Debashree Roy) is an actress.
In fact, she had kept it from me till then, but she was seriously harboring dreams of me becoming an actress. My father was still adamant about me not joining films.
But by that time my second cousins, Kajol and Sharbani, had entered films. And that sort of paved the way for me.
My mother and father still fought over it for quite a few days before he finally agreed to give me at least one shot at it - of course, with the strict clause that my mom will accompany me everywhere. And you? Did you know anything about acting by then? I wish I could show you the recording of my first screen test.
You will literally sprint away from the room thinking 'who is this horrible actress?' What was so bad? Those days, I used to be quite chubby. And Salim uncle, who had done "Baazi" with Mamta Kulkarni a few years ago, fished those shorter-than-short and tighter-than-tight clothes that looked completely hideous on me.
And to top that, I had to act! I was a shy kid with inhibitions galore. It was some courtroom scene and when someone gave me the sheet with dialogues, I was dumbfounded.
I saw all these famous dialogues from famous films which I had to say in front of the camera. My understanding of films was just as much as any young girl who watches Bollywood films.
I had no idea about the whole process of filmmaking, about dialogue writing, scripts, screenplay etc. I had probably gone to two or three film shoots in my childhood.
And even when on a shoot as a young girl, I would find actors just giving their shots and sitting in their vans getting bored in-between shots. So when the whole picture opened up in front of me about the reality of becoming an actress, I was petrified.
And my screen test was a disaster. I came back crying and said 'I would not be able to do this - anything but acting! Then? But Salim uncle came back and said I had a photogenic face and the camera captured me quite well, which is very important for any actor.
That was one glimmer of hope in my otherwise nightmarish experience. My mother sat me down that night and told me, 'Opportunity knocks at your door just once, take it up.
What's the worst that could happen? You'll fail at your effort? We are there after that. But at least you'd know you have tried, and won't regret leaving this golden opportunity'.
And though it was never told to me, but I knew my family was going through a financial crisis. And there was also tension in the family because of a lot of bickering between my father and his brothers.
I decided that I would work very hard (there was a month left for the shoot of "Raja Ki..
.") and give myself one good shot, even if it did not work out in the end.
I took it up as a job that just had to be done. What happened in that one month for you to give that spirited performance? My father took me to join Roshan Taneja's acting classes.
Mr Taneja had two courses, one was a year-long one and the other a three-month one. I had to learn all the acting I could in one month.
I told Mr Taneja I would come in the morning and evening for a month and be a dedicated student. On the very first day, my dad said to him, 'Please teach my daughter how to act'.
Mr Taneja said, 'Acting isn't a tablet. You can't pop it and become an actress.
It has to come from within you. It's either deep within you or it's not there'.
His statement stayed with me for a long time. It was my first lesson.
But in the classes, I did not know where to start. Thankfully, one good thing was the improvisation classes - where we all had to face the camera and say whatever came to our mind and enact a scene.
It sort of broke through my shy exterior. In any acting class, there are always a lot of faces looking at you from all corners and that's done on purpose so that the person drops all his/her inhibitions.
On the day of the mahurat, when I was called to give my first shot, I thought, 'yaar, I can't let my parents down. I just have to give it my best'.
And then, when I walked into the shot, I was this confident, fiery ball of energy, spouting dialogues like I had never imagined I would. I haven't looked back since that day.
And how did this job eventually become your passion? That happened later when I started getting fan mails. I was doing a lot of films.
But my fans kept on writing that they were not happy with me. So I wondered 'Arre, I am working 72 hours at a stretch, not eating right, not getting enough sleep, giving my best to each shot, so what was going wrong?' Then I realized that after "Ghulam" and "Kuch Kuch Hota Hain", my fans' expectations of me were higher than my own.
That's when I learnt my second lesson - that it's not just performing, I also had to know good scripts from the not-so-good ones. I started getting more involved in the whole process; understanding films beyond just acting.
During this whole process, acting became my passion. Coming back to the present, what went wrong in the last couple of years before "No One Killed Jessica" last year? You had some consecutive flops after a spate of hits, and suddenly you just vanished.
..
(Snaps her fingers and says with a smile) Don't worry, from this year, you'll see me in two films every year at least. Coming back to your question, I had seen failures before but when those three films ("Laaga Chunri Mein Daag", "Thoda Pyaar, Thoda Magic" and "Dil Bole Hadippa") failed in quick succession, it affected me in a way no flop had before.
My confidence was completely shattered. All my movies failed to make a mark with audiences and critics alike.
Maybe the critics thought 'we've praised her enough, now it's time for her to fall a bit hard, so she steps her game up' (smiles). I also think I was plain unlucky.
The audience has little memory of what you have done before or are capable of doing. What matters is today.
So three flops probably told them 'Rani has worked so well in the last few years, maybe it's time she took a back seat and settled down'. And are you settling down? (Smile that says read-my-expression-if-you-can) When I plan to settle down, I will announce it to the world.
Marriage is an occasion to celebrate. I'll celebrate it when it happens, letting everyone know about it.
What about the rumors of your relationship with Aditya Chopra? I have been linked with so many of my co-stars and this Aditya rumor has stayed with me for the longest time. This time, I'm going to give you the cliched answer no journalist wants to hear, 'No comments'.
Are you dating someone? Yes, I am dating, but that's as far as I'm willing to talk about my personal life. Your fans want to know about your personal life? They want to know if marriage is on the cards.
They will know when the time comes. Right now, I have two movies coming out and that's what I'm going to talk about.
Are you saying nothing is serious as far as your dating goes? In a relationship, there are two people involved. Since I'm a public figure, if I start answering questions, it'll open doors for more questions, speculations, gossips, and then it comes to a point where every day someone has something to say about your personal life.
It's unfair to the other person. I do not mind a bitchy comment about the way I dress or my films, but a comment on my private space isn't welcome.
Are you a romantic? I'm a born romantic. I romanticize everything in life.
My personal life is full of love and romance. God's given us one life.
You should romance it. It's not always nice and cool to be practical and logical.
What have your relationships/ heartbreaks taught you? I haven't been in a lot of relationships. Heartbreak definitely teaches you to be a better actor.
Don't they say, an artiste always performs better when he or she has experienced heartbreak? (Laughs) That was a joke. I don't give that much importance to men.
All my heartbreaks have been because of close friends, and not men. Seriously? (On a serious note) Heartbreak, anger, frustration - if you can overcome these emotions, you become a better person.
If you're a person of substance, you'll overcome your bad times. Who wants to be a loser? Will you marry an actor? No, two megalomaniacs can't exist in the same house.
We'll end up killing each other. What's the best thing about being in a relationship? (Enigmatic smile) That you can hide it.
And the best part of getting married is that you can announce it to the world. What about the fact that today the shelf life of actresses is low? Would you ever decide to do an item number or attend red carpet events as visibility is important these days? No.
Because for me, it's important to cement an impression of my work. Acting is what I do best.
It's not difficult to be in the public eye. Go anywhere and you'll find the media.
I am not trying to sound high and mighty here. If I was being launched today, I would do exactly what newcomers do these days.
But after 15 years in the course of which I have firmly established my credentials as an actress, I plan to only focus on acting. But if friends call me, I'll be there.
Like I went to Farah's (Khan) house-warming party recently. Aamir (Khan) and Kiran (Rao) had a son and going there was important for me because he is someone who is very dear to me.
As are Shah Rukh Khan and Karan (Johar). Have you spoken to Abhishek after he became a father? We aren't in touch on the phone, but whenever I come across him, I will definitely congratulate him.
It's great news. What did that low phase in your life teach you? When I was joining films, my dad had told me, 'Don't ever be disheartened with failure and don't be over-excited with success'.
This is an important lesson in any actor's life. But can you really separate your emotions as professional and personal in your mind? Hurt is hurt, disappointment is disappointment.
..
That's where your family and your strength as an individual come in. I am very close to my family.
And I have other interests, like baking. I started baking in one of my very low phases in life.
I find it therapeutic. So, would we see a Rani Mukerji patisserie soon? You could.
I'm serious about going to Paris or Chicago for a fulltime patisserie course. Any other venture in mind? A lot of actresses are starting their own fashion lines.
Or maybe even film production..
. No.
The only thing I will be producing next is babies. No other production happening with me.
Is there a lot of bitching/backbiting in the industry? There is, but that's true of any industry where over-competitive minds are always at work. But it is blown out of proportion in ours because it's the glamor industry.
Have you been at the receiving end of bitching? People say bitchy things about other people to feel good about themselves. Whatever I have got in life has been a huge blessing.
I've never gone after something that's not mine. Today, I am sitting at my office in Juhu, overlooking the sea.
I used to live in a shack before. I used to travel in rickshaws.
Today, I have a Mercedes. But if I start thinking, 'I have a bungalow, why not a building in Bandra tomorrow? Or now, I have a car, why not a yacht next?' my life will be difficult.
My mind doesn't work that way. The only ambition I have is to pick up interesting scripts and give a stellar performance that'll be etched in the audiences' and my fans' minds

(less)Asin is Kapoor's daughter for a day
During an outdoor shoot of Houseful 2 in London, the Kapoor brothers Rishi and Randhir publicly referred to the actress as their daughter. Interestingly, Asin's bonding with the Kapoors is due to Rishi playing her father and Randhir her uncle in Sajid Khan's film for producer Sajid Nadiadwala.
"However, she not only enjoyed conversing with them before the shoot began, but she had also won their affections in the initial days," says a unit member, adding, "While the entire cast was like one big family, Asin was particularly fond of Randhirji and Rishiji. They too doted on her.
" He recounts one memorable incident. One evening, Asin finished shooting a little later than the Kapoor brothers.
So after pack-up, she left for the restaurant where she was to join Randhir, Rishi and a few others for dinner. Our source tells us that when she reached the venue and was looking around for them, the manager asked if he could help her.
"That's when Randhirji stated that she's their daughter," recalls our source, adding that Asin was surprised and also felt a sense of pride at the same time. "Throughout that evening, everyone else from the cast addressed her as a Kapoor beti .
" Asin also got to meet the Kapoor brothers' mum Krishna Raj and sister Reema Jain when they visited London during the schedule. Although she couldn't meet Rishi's wife Neetu Kapoor, she made it a point to wish her on her birthday.
The actress, however, was not keen on talking about her special bond with the Kapoors. But when pursued, all she said was: "I have great respect for Rishiji and Randhirji.
It was an honour working with them together in Houseful 2 ." Tweet
(less)I don't desire Salman Khan, says Asin
For me he was somebody who I looked up to in a very respectful way, somebody that I admired. He is very attractive but that's not the way I saw or looked up to him as.
..
so that never really crossed my mind..
.of desiring him," said Asin, who will grace Simi Garewal's show India's Most Desirable this Sunday.
"I really never thought of resisting him," she added. The 25-year-old admitted she feels lucky to have worked with bigwigs of Bollywood like Aamir Khan in Ghajini and Salman.
Asin recalled that the Dabangg actor made her eat a bug during the making of Ready . "Salman actually challenged me to eat a bug that he along with the crew had collected from a nearby jungle in Bangkok.
They eat these creatures there. So he held it in his hand and asked me to eat it," she said.
"And I am not the one to shy away from challenges. I ate it rather swallow it.
Salman thought that I would yell, scream, throw a fit or get freaked out but I didn't. Instead, I ate it.
So he didn't really get the reaction he expected," the actress added. Tweet
(less)Sridevi homesick in New York
Not being emotionally up to it at the moment, the actress has taken husband Boney along for moral support, says a source. "Sridevi would be shown shooting in some of the most crowded and difficult parts of New York.
She will have to be shown mingling with commuters and crowds. A shy person by nature, it's taking Sridevi a lot of willpower to get herself out on the streets to shoot in the bustle and jostle of New York.
" Says another source: "Sri was reluctant to leave so soon after the family tragedy and would've asked for a postponement. Considering the steep production costs and the fact that Sridevi features in nearly every frame of the film, she left as soon as she could.
" "Striking down the earlier plan that she would shoot alone, Boney Kapoor accompanied her to New York since she didn't want to be alone there," he added. Apparently, the actress is already homesick and missing her daughters, but determined to shoot without them as she doesn't want them to miss school.
Speaking from New York, producer R. Balki said: "Around 80 per cent of English Vinglish has to be shot in New York.
There are 85 avenues in for Sridevi to explore during the 50-day schedule. It's tough because Sri is an instantly recognised face among Indians in the US.

(less)Shammi Kapoor: Tumsa nahi dekha
Enjoying every bit of his life, even his illness, the second son of Prithviraj Kapoor never stopped living. And even in his death, the legend will surely live on.
The last rites will be held at 11 am on Monday at Banganga after his grandson Vishwapratapraj Kapoor comes back home from US. Born in Bombay to a Pathan hailing from Peshawar, Shammi joined his father Prithvi Raj Kapoor on stage as a junior artiste in 1948 on a salary of Rs 50 per month.
"I stayed with the theatre till 1952, my last paycheck being Rs 300," claimed the last Junglee of tinsel town. He hit the big screen the very year he left theatre.
Though his first success was still a far way off. Meanwhile, the man known for his charisma fell in love.
It was for a film titled Rangeen Raaten by Kedar Sharma that he first came across Geeta Bali. Shooting in the vales of Ranikhet, he fell in love with his leading lady.
The actors tied the knot in 1955. Soon after came his first big success, Tumsa Nahin Dekha in 1957.
And then there was no looking back. Here was a man who was in love with life.
With love. The death of his wife Geeta bali, left him shattered.
He fell in love once again. This time with his co-star from the film Brahmachari, Mumtaz.
A 37-year-old Shammi's proposal for marriage to the 18-year-old actress on the verge of success in Bollywood was refused. He later married Neela Devi Gohil, from the royal family of Bhavnagar in Gujarat.
The wife who stood by his side till he breathed his last. Perhaps it was this capacity to love that made Shammi one of the most romantic heroes of his times.
Creating his own special genre of hillside romances with films like Kashmir Ki Kali and Junglee, here was one actor whose sheer presence on screen brought the emotions alive. With songs like Ishaaron Ishaaron Mein Dil Lene Waale, one actually wanted to ask the man 'bataa yeh hunhar tune seekha kahaan se?' Shammi was of course a natural.
The man did not need to learn how to love. He did not need to learn how to dance either.
Named the Elvis Presley of India, this man could jump in the air and land on snow without the need for kneepads in the Yahoo song, or jump into water for Yeh Chaand Sa Roshan Chehra in Kashmir Ki Kali. And he did not need a choreographer for either.

(less)Asin wants to act with Rajinikanth
"I wish to work with Rajini..
. If I come across a good project I will certainly act (opposite him)," she said.
The 26-year-old actress will be next seen opposite Akshay Kumar in Housefull 2 and the actress is looking forward to the release of the film, which boasts of 22 major actors working in it. "We wrapped up shooting in record time and the film is ready for an April release.
It has shaped up very well. I am looking forward to it," she told reporters at the announcement of the 57th Idea Filmfare Awards here.
Housefull 2 boasts of 22 major actors including Akshay, John Abraham, Riteish Deshmukh, Randhir Kapoor, Rishi Kapoor and Mithun Chakraborty. It was a huge challenge for Sajid Nadiadwala and Sajid Khan not just at the scripting stage, but also logistically.
"It was a lot of fun working with Sajid Khan and Sajid Nadiadwala. Both have managed such a huge cast very well.
Everybody had a blast during the shoot," Asin said. "It was also great sharing space with senior actors like Mithun Da, Rishiji, Randhirji, Boman Irani, Johnny Lever and the other girls (Jacqueline Fernandez and Zarine Khan).
With such a big cast, it was literally housefull," she added. Asin said apart from Housefull 2 , she is working in Bol BachchanM starring Ajay Devgn and Abhishek Bachchan and directed by Rohit Shetty.
"We have just wrapped up one schedule and shooting is going on," she added. When asked whether she has any plan to act in Hollywood flicks, Asin said, "I think right now I better concentrate on Indian cinema.

The debutante filmmaker had earlier refused the Academy's offer to show the film in the Malayalam Cinema Now section. After the assurance of Kerala State Chalachitra Academy, the screening of the film is just 'official' as it has not been included in any category in the festival.
Aadimadhyantam had been in controversy after the selection committee's decision to remove the film from the competition section was rejected by the Chalachitra Academy on the ground that the film was submitted in an incomplete format. Tweet
(less)Top 10 Bollywood movies of year 2011
One" and " Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara " not only satiated the moviegoer's appetite but also yielded profits for the Hindi film industry. Here IANS lists the top 10 movies of the year: 1.
"Bodyguard": Salman Khan and Kareena Kapoor's "Bodyguard" broke the opening day records by earning Rs.22 crore on the first day.
Although the story of the film, directed by Siddique , didn't have much to say, the music as well as the action sequences worked in its favour. Salman's signature dialogue - "Mujh par ek ehsaan karna ki mujh par koi ehsaan na karna" - once again struck a chord with fans.
2. "Ra.
One": World class VFX, amazing graphics, innovative marketing, tie-ups with multiple brands and Shah Rukh Khan as the superhero made sci-fi thriller "Ra.One" a profitable venture.
Another highlight of the film was its music, especially the song "Chamak challo" sung by international rapper Akon. And the marathon promotion by the superstar helped bring people to the theatres.
3. "The Dirty Picture": Her sensuous look shocked, her itsy-bitsy clothes astonished and her double meaning dialogues left audiences gasping for breath, but all this nothwithstanding, Vidya Balan swept both the classes and the masses off their feet with her bold avatar in Ekta Kapoor's "The Dirty Picture".
An unofficial biopic of southern sex symbol Silk Smitha, the film broke the myth that only movies with "Khans" work at the box office. 4.
"Ready": Romantic comedies have been a staple of Hindi films and this year Salman Khan's "Ready" used the recipe to earn profits. Shot in exotic locales of Thailand , director Anees Bazmee's drama about mistaken identity saw Salman romancing Asin Thottumkal amid all the hotch-potch in their lives, thanks to their onscreen relatives.
5. "Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara": Focussing on three bachelors dealing with their friendship and romance, the well-scripted film, with a resemblance to real life episodes, was supported by beautiful performances by the talented cast - Hrtihik Roshan, Abhay Deol , Farhan Akhtar , with Kalki Koechlin and Katrina Kaif as their love interests.
Kudos to director Zoya Akhtar for bringing liveliness, happiness and joyfulness with such deftness on screen through an adventurous road film mostly based in Spain. 6.
"Singham": An out-and-out action film, the success of "Singham" proves that there are takers for such films. Based on the "good wins over evil" theme, the actioner takes a dig at the corruption within the police department through two main characters - honest cop Ajay Devgn and Prakash Raj as a corrupt politician.
Director Rohit Shetty's film also marked southern actress Kajal Aggarwal's debut in Bollywood. 7.
" Rockstar ": Give him a good role and he can sink his teeth into it. Ranbir Kapoor proved that again by stepping into the shoes of a musician.
From a cute and simple college boy to a crazy lover to a successful but cynical singer, the young actor proved his mettle in every frame. The film appealed despite a faulty script, which had too many loose ends.
In short, it was Ranbir's film, which launched American Pakistani model in the Bollywood business. Other high points of the movie were A.
R. Rahman's music and Mohit Chauhan's singing.
8. "Mere Brother Ki Dulhan": Not good, not bad - that is how Yash Raj Films' "Mere Brother Ki Dulhan" could be described.
Thanks to Imran Khan , Katrina Kaif and Pakistani singer-actor Ali Zaffar's tangled love story woven against the backdrop a wedding, the romantic comedy managed to pull the crowds. The film got mixed reviews, but managed to enter the top grosser list of the year.
9. "Delhi Belly": Replete with cuss words, weird situations, witty dialogues, the experimental movie in the English language targeted the urban audiences, who hailed this free will adult comedy as they identified with the characters of Imran Khan, Kunal Roy Kapoor and Vir Das in the movie.
If director Abhinay Deo faced failure with "Game", this film pulled him out of darkness and Aamir Khan once again proved that he has a knack for choosing the best scripts as a producer. 10.
"Yamla Pagla Deewana": After the 2007 release "Apne", the Deol trio - Sunny, Bobby and Dharmendra - returned to the big screen with the comic caper "Yamla Pagla Deewana" by director Sameer Karnik. Though a small budget film, it received an overwhelming response.
The impeccable comic timing between the father and sons struck a chord with the audiences

(less)Mugdha Godse’s on-screen date
The Marathi version of Laadla is being produced by Nitin Manmohan and directed by Rajiv Patil, whose Marathi film Jogwa won five national awards. A source close to the film told Mumbai Mirror, "Mithun was finalised for the role a few days ago.
It is going to be a big challenge for him to step into Anil's shoes; it is his first film." Mugdha and Mithun have had a rather rocky relationship.
They first met in 2003 during the shoot of a music video, which was being directed by ace photographer Jagdish Mali . The couple of modelling assignments together, strengthened their 'liking' for each other.
Mithun, who was smitten by Mugdha, had reportedly booked an entire theatre when Fashion hit the screens in 2008. Things started going wrong soon after.
While insiders maintained that that the two were back together as a couple, Mithun claimed, "We are not dating. We have moved on to be great friends.
" Friends or lovers, the two have now been cast together in the remake of Laadla, the shooting of which will begin in January 2012. "Yes, I am doing Anil Kapoor's role in the Marathi remake of Laadla.
It's a good opening. I am thrilled," said Mithun.
We wonder if Mugdha is equally thrilled about the same

(less)Asin turns down Shootout At Wadala
The actress was recently in talks for the project but decided against doing it. Asin's business manager said, "Yes, she was approached to be part of the project.
But had to turn it down as the required dates were clashing with another project." Apparently the actress has given a chunk of her dates to Bol Bachchan for which she is currently shooting.
Asin's move has led producer-director Sanjay Gupta's prequel to his 2007 flick Shootout At Lokhandwala left yet again with casting woes. A while back there was buzz that Vidya Balan was being considered for the role.
But the actress who found the script interesting did not give it a nod. As reported, Gupta who was initially keen to cast Vivek Oberoi was later forced to drop him, apparently due to Vivek's unprofessional behaviour.
Shootout At Wadala , which revolves around the first encounter killing in the city in the early '80s was launched in August last year with John Abraham and Anil Kapoor. Tweet
(less)I’d love to work with Rajinikanth: Asin
But what's put the actor in the limelight is the recent news of her starring in Rajinikanth's next. The latest buzz doing the rounds in Kollywood circles is that she's been offered to play the lead role opposite the Superstar in Kochadaiyaan, beating competition from the likes of Vidya Balan and Anushka Shetty.
Quiz her about the offer and the actor remains tight-lipped about it. "You'll have to ask the producer of the film.
I can't comment about it now," she says, adding, "I would love to work with Rajinikanth and if a good project comes by, I'll take it up." Asin, who is still basking in the success of her last release, Ready, has reportedly said that she wouldn't like to do many films with her 'dear friend' Salman Khan .
Rumours that she is dating Neil Nitin Mukesh - with whom she was said to have broken up with - have resurfaced, but the actor is unmindful of the controversies that surround her. "Bollywood gossip is a cliche.
I am a straightforward person and prefer to set the record straight if anything comes up," she asserts. The 26-year-old actor, who has wrapped up the shoot for Housefull 2 opposite Akshay Kumar, is looking forward to the release next year.
"With 22 stars working on the film, we had a blast shooting for it. Sajid Khan and Sajid Nadiadwala managed the cast really well," says Asin.
When asked about how it was to work with the new dostana in town - Akshay Kumar and John Abraham - she says, "It's Akshay plus John! Both of them drove the entire cast and crew crazy with their pranks." What excites the actor is that the roles she plays in her upcoming films will show her in a different light altogether.
Is she choosy about her roles? "I am not choosy. I can shuffle between a serious role and feature in an out-an-out commercial flick too.
Nevertheless, I prefer to act in movies that strike a balance between both," she says. Having worked in Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam films, does she have plans to work on a Kannada film in the near future? "I have no qualms about working for any film industry as long as my role in the film is meaty.
I'd love to work for a Kannada film, but I haven't been offered any scripts so far," she says
(less)Age no bar in Bollywood?
As far as Hollywood goes, such examples are plenty. If you loved Diane Keaton as the rebellious and neurotic Annie Hall, you equally adore her as the elegant and independent 50-something in Something's Gotta Give .
Ditto Judy Dench who played a lesbian, in love with a fellow teacher (at the age of 72), in Notes on a Scandal . But a similar scenario in Bollywood seems like a far cry.
Age has always taken precision over acting abilities, especially with respect to actresses. Over the years, we have seen some brilliant women actors fade away into oblivion, as the lines on their faces became prominent.
However, slowly things seem to be changing. With actresses like Sridevi and Madhuri Dixit making their comebacks, we could now hope for scripts to be written around actors' abilities, rather than their age.
Sridevi, who plays a housewife enrolling in an English speaking class to impress her family, in her next, English Vinglish said, "I have always maintained that when the right role comes, I would love to get back. This seemed like a script that was written keeping in mind my personality, which is why I was convinced.
" Filmmakers do not fail to see that actresses like her bring to the palette what none of the girls from the current crop perhaps can. Mahesh Bhatt said, "There was a phase between the 80s and 90s where roles were written for actresses like Madhuri.
It could have been a simple love story, but nobody would play it better. Who would want to let go of such great artistes if they are willing to work, despite all their family commitments.
" However, it cannot be ruled out that the lack of good actresses within the current generation may be pushing filmmakers to weave stories around older actresses. Vikram Bhatt who is casting 37-year-old Karisma Kapoor in Dangerous Ishq said, "I don't want to pass judgment on the current heroines, but I needed someone who would bring emotional depth to my protagonist's character.
Only Karisma can pull it off and her age doesn't matter." Madhuri too will join the cast of Ishqiya 2 soon and her role is expected to be quite different from that of Vidya Balan's in Ishqiya .
Habib Faisal, who cast Neetu Singh as his lead actress in his first directorial, Do Dooni Chaar said, "The story required a middle-aged couple and I couldn't think of anyone better than Rishi and Neetu. Even today, she has electrifying energy on the set.
" Actress Sarika, who bagged a National Award for Parzania added, "There has to be a change in the attitudes of people who are responsible for films, only then substantial roles can be written." Tweet
(less)I am exactly like Salman Khan: Asin
Somewhere I am very attached to my roots. I know that it's the Southern film industries that have made me an actor and that is where people relate to me the most.
I would never give it up or separate myself from it. I have a personal connect with each of the industries there.
In Kerala people say, 'Asin is our very own Mallu girl'. The Tamilians love me because I have done the most number of movies in Kollywood and have worked with all the top stars.
I have even stayed in Chennai for a few years and I have a strong connect with the city and the State of Tamil Nadu. As far as the Telugu film industry goes, I got my first Filmfare Award for a Tollywood film and also the Nandi State Award.
So I am referred to as the 'Tamil Ammai'. My film "Garshana" is still spoken of.
Few actors can connect with the different audiences and this is my real goodwill. North for the moment, not South.
..
Yes, my bulk dates until March 2012 is with projects in Bollywood. Sajid Khan's "Housefull-2" and Rohit Shetty's "Bol Bachchan" will be finished by March.
Then there is one bigger project that I am in talks for. The work being offered to me in Hindi is pretty exciting.
In the South, I wish to get something unusual because I have done the routine stuff. Now if I accept a South offer, it has to be spectacular.
Like I did "Kaavalan" recently only because it wasn't the typical song-'n'-dance roles that girls in Vijay movies usually have. I had already done two Vijay 'formula' films, "Sivakasi" and "Pokiri" earlier.
But Meera in "Kaavalan" was a strong character, something I had not attempted before. Out priced yourself Money is not the driving force behind my decisions to accept or reject a project.
From the start of my career I have always looked for five criteria while selecting a project - 1) script, 2) my role, 3) director, 4) production house and 5) co-artistes. The language of the film or the financial aspects comes into consideration only after this.
And as I said earlier, money is not the criteria for me choosing a film in any language. Salman Khan , 4 am friend I like Salman because he is very genuine, very forthright.
Salman appreciates me because I am exactly like him. I don't wear any masks.
If I am happy, you get to see it; if I am angry, then you get to see that also. My acting ends in the front of the camera.
In real life, I do not pretend. Yes, I can pick up the phone on Salman whenever I wish and he will always be there.
However, I rarely meet him when we are not shooting together. I haven't seen him after "Ready".
I am friends with his family. I respect his parents and I am in touch with his brothers and sisters.
Salman doesn't need to show that we are friends in overtly ways. SMS break up with Neil Nitin Mukesh I don't know where such talk comes from.
Neil is still a friend. What SMS break-up? I don't wish to react to talk like this
(less)Asin regrets not working with Rajini
You are currently shooting for Housefull 2 ? Yes, it is one of those terrific comedies made on a lavish scale. Jacqueline Fernandez , Shazahn Padamsee, Zarine Khan and I are shooting for a song with Farah Khan.
I am loving every minute. Are there cold vibes between the girls? No as a matter of fact it's fun.
I get along with all the girls. Honestly, the two Sajids (Nadiadwala and Khan) are very sorted.
I knew from day one what my role is and they have kept it the way it is. In the south you avoided multi-starrers.
How come you are open to them in Hindi? In the south, I was never offered multi-starrers, because they rarely happen there. No two big heroes agree to work with each other, because each of them has such a massive fan following that it becomes near impossible to justify them in two-hero projects.
I've been selective in the south because I was always offered the biggest films. In Bollywood, things are different.
Multi-starrers are the norm and big heroines are happy to be part of a big movie. You did good work in the south, but still didn't get a film with Rajinikanth.
..
I regret missing out on a film with Rajini Sir. He is one of the legends of Indian cinema.
I have met him at several film-related functions and he has always had words of encouragement for me. I hope I get a film with him someday.
So, are you investing heavily in property? I just gifted myself a six-bedroom apartment in Kochi. It is on the Marine Drive and overlooks the rainbow bridge.
I am not a materialistic girl. But there is a sense of pride and achievement that I have managed to buy something that I am proud of.
I already have a home in Kochi. This is my second.
My parents, who stay with me in Mumbai, visit our home in Kochi every month. I am also planning to spend more time there when my work schedule eases a bit
(less)Ranbir Kapoor's loss, Prateik Babbar's gain
The entire unit vouches for the twosome being absolutely smitten with one another. Do we see Smita Patil smiling down from heaven? Says director Gautham Menon, "Our film is getting a positive vibe.
People are saying the lead pair is looking good together." And to think it could have been Ranbir Kapoor romancing Amy in 'Ek Deewana Tha'.
Gautham Menon is one of Tamil cinema's leading lights of filmmaking. But in Mumbai Ranbir Kapoor doesn't know him, nor wish to work with him.
Apparently when Menon wished to approach Ranbir for his new Hindi film, the star refused to meet him. Embarrassed to talk about his failure to connect with the Kapoor star the hurt and angry Menon, who has worked with the likes of Kamal Haasan, Madhavan and Suriya in the South, finally admits, "Ranbir was my first choice for 'Ek Deewana Tha'.
I tried to get in touch in with. Forget about meeting Ranbir.
I couldn't even meet his secretary. Yes, even the secretary refused to meet me.
" This is when Gautham turned away, his pride and dignity seriously challenged, to sign Prateik for the film. Says Menon, "One reason why I've taken 11 years to make my second Hindi film is because I am comfortable working with the stars in the South, as they are with me.
In Mumbai, I feel like a stranger. In fact I've had a number of offers to direct Hindi films.
Vipul Shah wanted me to do the Hindi adaptation of my film 'Kaakha Kaakha'. I declined the offer.
Nishikant Kamat directed the remake 'Force'." Now after his bitter experience with Ranbir Menon has become even more wary of Mumbai and its stars.
Menon can take solace in company. Increasingly a wide spectrum of director are complaining about how inaccessible Ranbir has become.
Sudhir Mishra wanted to cast Ranbir in 'Driver' . He's been waiting for months for a meeting.
Raj Kumar Santoshi wanted to do a sequel to 'Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani' with Ranbir. Katrina Kaif was willing.
Ranbir was not. Incidentally, Ranbir loves romancing half-foreigners on screen: Katrina Kaif in 'Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani', Sarah Thompson in 'Raajneet' and Nargis Fakhri in 'Rockstar'
(less)Madhur Bhandarkar gets bail in Preeti Jain rape case
The next date of the hearing is scheduled on November 29. Facts of the case In July 2004, Preeti had lodged a complaint with the Versova Police against Madhur alleging he had raped her 16 times between 1999 and 2004 under the pretext of casting her as actress in his films.
Madhur insists the complaint was of "cheating" and did not mention rape. In a statement issued at that time, Preeti had said, "We had sex 16 times and Madhur made promises of giving me a lead role in his films.
However, he didn`t offer me a lead role in any of his movies. At times when I refused, he raped me.
" Drama unfolded when Preeti was arrested in 2005 for hiring a contract killer to murder Bhadarkar. In January 2006, police requested the court to dismiss the case against Bhandarkar as they had found Preeti`s allegations to be false
(less)IFFK: Malayalam Director ends fast after assurance over movie
The debutante filmmaker had earlier refused the Academy's offer to show the film in the Malayalam Cinema Now section. After the assurance of Kerala State Chalachitra Academy, the screening of the film is just 'official' as it has not been included in any category in the festival.
Aadimadhyantam had been in controversy after the selection committee's decision to remove the film from the competition section was rejected by the Chalachitra Academy on the ground that the film was submitted in an incomplete format. Tweet
Tweet
(less)Sohail Khan's private birthday party
Sohail Khan and Co. popped a bottle of champagne and the actor cut a huge chocolate cake.
The birthday boy was spotted in a chilled out mood, bonding with friends and even shaking a leg. Guests gorged on the yummy Hyderabadi food that Sohail ensured was served at the do.
The relaxed bash went on till 4.30 am as actors chilled out over drinks by the pool

They sat in a corner, chattering away and tucking into the cake. One wondered about the sudden bonding as the two haven't acted together before.

(less)CCL unites Indian film industry: Sohail Khan
As we said, there is no barrier and all film industries can be a part of this competitive sport. It is great to see them unite and play cricket in a sporting spirit," said Sohail, who owns Bollywood team Mumbai Heroes.
The 20-20 cricket tournament has teams not only from Hindi cinema, but also Telugu, Kannada and Tamil cinema. While actor Vishnu Manchu owns Telugu Warriors, L.
Ganga Prasad of GVR Infra Projects is the owner of Chennai Rhinos, and Ashok Kheny of AKK Entertainment Pvt. Ltd.
has Karnataka Bulldozers. "It is great fun and we have a good laugh in the after parties regarding the experiences of the game.
We are not cricketers. We are just actors training to play good cricket.
Getting everyone together is good fun," he added. Sohail's team boasts of actors and filmmakers like Suniel Shetty, Riteish Deshmukh , Aftab Shivdasani , Sohail himself, Sonu Sood, Apoorv Lakhia, Shabbir Ahluwalia , Sunny Singh , Varun Badola, Kabir Sadanand, Raja Bherwani, Angad Bedi, Tushaar Jalota, Sharad Kelkar, Varun Rao, Sachin Joshi, Ashish Chaudhary and Vatsal Seth.
However, Salman Khan would not be able to play. "Unfortunately not.
His filming schedule and surgery last year have restricted him from playing but he may play in the next season of CCL. He is the icon player and ambassador of our team," said Sohail.
After an exciting first season, the second season brings in two new teams Bengal Tigers, owned by filmmaker Boney Kapoor and his actress wife Sridevi , and Kerala Strikers of the Malayalam film industry owned by National Award winning actor Mohanlal. And Sohail says that more teams are likely to join in.
"The league is also growing in size. Last year we had four teams, this year we've got six teams and next year we are going to have eight teams and then we are going to end with ten teams.
We are going to introduce the Marathi and Punjabi team next year," said Sohail. "Then there will be a Bhojpuri and a Gujarati team.
We plan to cover all the film industries of India and it is a great platform for bringing together directors and producers," he added. The Celebrity Cricket League matches will begin Jan 13 in Sharjah
(less)I'm not an insecure person, says Asin
I'm really not bothered what the other person is doing. I'm just concentrating on my path.
That's my focus. I like working with teams that I would enjoy working with or projects that I would be excited to be a part of.
So I take my time in selecting my films," the 25-year-old said. Asin entered Bollywood with 2008 blockbuster Ghajini , then she went on to do films like London Dreams and Ready .
Currently the actress is shooting for Sajid Khan's Housefull 2 . Tweet
(less)Sonam's mantra - be friendly!
Be it Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra or Punit Malhotra, they all are dear friends. Even all my male co-stars are my friends," Sonam said at a recent event.
As for her female friends in B-Town, she said: "I am most close to Jacqueline (Fernandes) and Asin (Thottumkal). In fact, these two are doing a movie ( Housefull 2 ) together and I am so jealous of them!" The actress, who is looking forward to her film Players , is set to don the garb of Santa, and play peacemaker between two friends on UTV Stars' new show Superstar Santa .
"My episode has two girls whose friendship is broken due to misunderstanding. My job is to bring them together and try to understand what went wrong," said Sonam, who insists she tries her best to be there for her own friends despite being busy.
"I have a huge bunch of friends and I am always there for them whenever needed," she added. Tweet
(less)Salman Khan to return home soon
He had made two very short trips to Mumbai in September end and just before Diwali for the shoot of his reality show which he co-hosts with Sanjay Dutt. A source said, "Salman is slated to arrive in Mumbai on November 13.
He will be then back anchoring the show. But just before he returns from Turkey where he was shooting for his film Ek Tha Tiger , he will make his way to Dubai.
" On November 12, Sallu will be in Dubai to announce the Celebrity Cricket League matches that will be held in Sharjah in mid-January. His Dabangg co-star Sonakshi Sinha as well as Sohail Khan, Suniel Shetty and Shreya Saran will join him for the event.
The CCL includes names from Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Bengali cinema besides Bollywood. The stars associated with it include Telugu heavyweight Venkatesh, Malayalam superstar Mohanlal, Tamil hearthrob Suriya, Kannada hero Sudeep and Bengali cinema's Indraneil.
Director Priyadarshan besides Boney Kapoor and Sridevi are also associated with the tournament. Sallu's brother Sohail is the owner of the Mumbai Heroes CCL team.

(less)Sohail Khan to ring in his birthday at CCL 2 curtain raiser after-party
The Mumbai Heroes team arrived at 3:30 pm on Monday afternoon and leading the pack was none other than Sohail Khan, the owner of the 'Mumbai Heroes' team. He was flanked by his team mates Suniel Shetty, Bobby Deol , Sonu Sood, Dino Morea , Ritesh Deshmukh and others.
Grand plans are underway to ensure Sohail Khan rings in his birthday in style that falls on December 20. A humongous cake has been ordered specially and will be cut by the star at The Club nightclub in Novotel where the curtain raiser after-party will be held for the players and stars.
Anuj Rai, corporate communication manager, CCL, says, "We've ordered a 10-kg cake that will sport the 'Mumbai Heores' team logo and Sohail Khan will bring in his birthday in the presence of stars of various film industries at the after-party that will be held tonight after the main event." The event will see stars like Salman Khan , Boney Kapoor , Sridevi , Sameera Reddy , Genelia D'souza, Shriya Saran and others

(less)Thanks to Hollywood, it's yesterday once more for Anil
(What's) Interesting to see that I have become a newcomer all over again. What I was in Bollywood 30 years back is what I am there right now," Anil told actress Preity Zinta during a tete-a-tete with her on her UTV Stars' chat show Up, Close and Personal with PZ .
Danny Boyle's 2008 Slumdog Millionaire , in which he played a quizmaster, brought him international recognition. The success of the film helped him bag a role in American TV series 24 , as well as a cameo in the much-awaited Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol .
"It all began with Danny Boyle..
.even though I heard many actors turned down 'Slumdog.
..
', so much so that some actors even refused to acknowledge Danny's repeated calls or messages. I took up the role, and from then there has been no looking back.
First it was 24 and now it's Mission Impossible . "Though I have a small cameo in the film I am sure that over a period of time I will make it to the bigger roles," he added.
"You know Preity, I am tired of this tag. Jhakaas was years ago and now I don't want it anymore.
I am international you see, and I want to get rid of this tag seriously. Though I am thankful (to it for) where I have reached today, having been in the industry for over three decades now," he said.
But even as he juggles between Bollywood and Hollywood now, Anil is loving every bit of it and said: "I think it's perfect. Being a part of Hollywood gives me a chance to romance younger women, take for example Paula Patton who is 23 and I am starred opposite her in Mission Impossible .
" The only regret perhaps that he has in life is to have refused Baazigar . "Years ago when I was shooting for a film; Abbas Mustan had approached me for a thriller called Baazigar .
I flatly refused the offer citing the reason that I was too big for such movies. The movie was finally done by Shah Rukh (Khan) and went on to become a monstrous hit.
So in a way, had it not been for me, Shah Rukh wouldn't have been where he is today," he said. The episode will go on air on Saturday.

(less)I am not dating John Abraham: Asin
.says Asin, who has recently been linked with Housefull 2 co star John Abraham .
Friendship with her co stars is getting Asin some bad publicity these days. Reportedly, Asin has been linked with her Housefull2 co star John Abraham.
The actress has denied the reports saying John is just a friend and nothing more. "It's ridiculous to put two and two together and assume that if two people are single and cordial at work, they are having a 'scene'.
John is one of my many co-actors on Sajid's (director Sajid Khan) Housefull sequel," reacts Asin on the reports of her dating John who is single now. The actress further explains that she is friendly with most of her co stars on the sets.
"We're a bunch of girls with loads of male co-actors. That's no reason to say that I'm having an affair with all or any of them.
" John is not the only costar she is friendly with. Asin claims to get along with Riteish Deshmukh and Akshay Kumar.
"I'm friendly with all the actors on the sets. In fact, I've spent more time with Akshay (Kumar), Riteish (Deshmukh) and the Kapoor brothers (Rishi and Randhir).

(less)Rani Mukerji won't marry an actor
(less)Anything for friendship, says Asin
While solving a fight between two friends for an episode of UTV Stars' " Superstar Santa ", Asin revealed how her close-knit gang of girls gets insecure sometimes due to her success in Bollywood. The " Ghajini " actress has a group of six to seven female friends, who are like daughters to her parents.
As much as they are all close to each other, they get insecure that she can't meet them as often as they like due to her film commitments. There have also been times when this has led to misunderstandings amongst them, but Asin says she has always made it a point to clarify the matter before it got out of hand.
She even admitted that she says "sorry" though it may not be her fault, and that she she will continue to do so forever. The episode of "Superstar Santa", featuring Asin, will air Sunday
Tweet
(less)The Dirty Picture is the dirtiest film I've done: Emraan
..
everything is dirty in this film. It is the dirtiest film I have done.
You cannot make a dirty picture without Emraan Hashmi," he said. The Murder actor also claimed that the film, inspired by late Southern sex siren Silk Smitha's life, would have been incomplete without casting him.
The Dirty Picture is inspired by sex icon Vijaylakshmi better known as Silk Smitha. The film shows the highs and lows of an actress-dancing star.
"The tone of the film is bold and provocative. But it does not cross the line into vulgarity.
. Vulgarity is always subjective.
The film is bold in terms of language also and few people might feel it as dirty and take it as an offence. The concept is bold but at the same time entertaining," Emraan said.
Emraan also said that veteran actor and co-star Naseeruddin Shah has got bolder and dirtier in The Dirty Picture. "As far as the bold quotient goes.
..
I am doing my own bold stuff but Naseer is the boldest in the film. I think he has taken all my mantle in the film and he is doing what I use to normally do in films," Emraan, who earned the 'serial kisser' tag after Anurag Basu's Murder , told PTI.
Due for release on December 2, the film also stars Naseeruddin Tusshar Kapoor and Vidya Balan. Tweet
(less)I’ve shown boys the middle finger: Sonam Kapoor
..
says actor Sonam Kapoor , in defence of the clip in her latest film that has been censored, which shows her giving someone the finger She can easily be described as the candid Kapoor, with her penchant for telling it like it is. In a chat with BT, Sonam talks about her Hollywood aspirations, reuniting with Abhay Deol onscreen and more.
We will see you in a different avatar in your upcoming film. Tell us what it was like playing this outspoken character.
Every character is a challenge and this was just fun. I am outspoken as a person and I just had to take how I am in real life and make it larger than life.
The script was so beautifully written that there wasn't much that I needed to do. In terms of styling, we padded the character a lot.
There was uproar over the middle-finger scene in the film, which has been blurred by the Censor Board. I think it is no big deal.
It is a part of our lingo and most youngsters do it these days. I have shown it to a lot of boys back home who tried to act smart (laughs) with me.
You said recently that you don't have a bikini body. How did that come about? Everybody just went on how hot I am and that I should wear a bikini.
Honestly, I was just being modest. I don't have Bipasha's body.
Will you don a bikini sometime soon, as it is the flavour of the season? I always do things that are not the flavour of the season. And that's why people like me.
Mausam, despite being a great story, did not do well at the box office. Were you disappointed? I am used to people loving what I do in a film, and the film itself not doing well.
I have three films that have done really, really well, so three out of six is not so bad and hopefully, my next film will even out the odds. After the success of I Hate Luv Storys, director Punit Malhotra has planned another film with you and Shahid in mind.
..
Yes, I heard about that, but I'm not doing Punit's film. Will you be reuniting with Abhay Deol soon onscreen? A couple of directors have offered us scripts for films that feature us together, but Raj Kumar Santoshi's is the best.
It's so much fun and I am dying to do this film. It's only Abhay and me talking throughout the film and it's brilliant.
There were differences between your father and Abhay Deol. Any comments? No comment, because it was between my father and Abhay.
How was your meeting with Tom Cruise ? He is so beautiful looking, very sweet and it was lovely interacting with someone who is so modest and down-to-earth. He looks you in the eye, and gives you that much attention.
Your father has already consolidated his position in Hollywood. Do you also have Hollywood aspirations? I have aspirations to conquer the world.
Let's see what happens. There must have been discussions about a Hollywood debut for you after your meeting with Tom.
..
It doesn't work like that. You audition for roles and you get them, just like in Bollywood.
Critics have taken digs at your father's cameo in Mission: Impossible 4..
. He always said it was a cameo.
My dad has been in the industry for 30 years. I don't think anybody has done the kind of roles he's done.
The exposure he's gotten in M:I4 is amazing. I think most critics are just jealous.
Who do you count as your friends in the industry? Asin. (pauses) And Jacqueline (Fernandez)

(less)Katrina Kaif will be a friend always: Salman Khan
. Salman, seems like the best phase of your life.
Wanted, Dabangg, Ready and now Bodyguard up for release - getting better and bigger? I think I'm getting luckier. It's just that these films had great scripts, with a lot entertainment.
Also, everybody doing their jobs to the fullest have made these films actually happen. You've made Eid day your own.
No, not true. If somebody else had decided this date beforehand, we wouldn't have come on Eid.
We would've come slightly ahead. Two big films releasing is bad for the industry so you should have a two-three weeks gap between each movie.
Sonakshi and Asin, two actresses suddenly in the top bracket, have been supported greatly by you..
. No, that's not true.
They're very talented and that's why they are where they are. Sonakshi was outstanding in her first film.
And as far as talent is concerned, it's something that you have or you don't have. So basically the need was ours, mine, to cast Sonakshi in Dabangg or Asin in Ready.
You're doing a movie with Katrina so how's the equation between you two? We are still really good friends. Always have been, always will be and that's the reason I am doing Ek Tha Tiger.
If I'd refused the film or she'd refused the film then that would have been a problem. Recently, you had an argument with Sanjay Dutt at his party? Ya, there was apparently a fight between Sanju and me which was never a fight.
Sanju and I are like brothers and we both got to know of this in the morning. The next day we shot for Big Boss.
You once said that you are a very difficult person to be in a relationship with. True? Ya I am.
I wake up early in the morning and sleep late at night. I don't go out for dinners that much.
No flowers, chocolates, cards - I can't get myself to do those things, so I guess I'm difficult. A man in your position and with your looks can date any girl in the world? Suppose you could, who would you date? Right now, you have no idea how much I am trying.
Won't tell you for whom, but no luck. Seriously
