Sheen apologises to Kutcher for 'Two and a Half Men' criticism
..
I'm tired of pretending Ashton doesn't suck. "It's nothing personal.
..
I just feel bad for him..
. He's saddled with such bad writing.
" Sheen, 46, has now issued an apology to Kutcher, but he stands by his criticism of the show, reported TMZ. In an open letter, Sheen writes, "Dear Ashton, My bad.
I was disrespectful to a man doing his best. I got excited and I threw you into the crossfire, but the rest of my statement I stand behind.
You however, deserve better. Safety in your travels good sir.
" Sheen was fired from the show last March after months of erratic behaviour and Kutcher was subsequently hired to take over. Tweet

(less)Saif Ali Khan booked for allegedly assaulting man
Apparently last night Saif Ali Khan was at Taj's Wasabi restaurant in Colaba where he landed into a heated argument with a man. When things turned worse, he punched the man on his nose.
Reportedly the man asked Saif to lower his voice thereby inviting his ire. A similar situation happened with the actor some years back when he assaulted a journalist in Patiala and a case was filed against him.
However that matter was sorted when Saif apologized subsequently to the journalist. It needs to be seen what happens this time because Saif's ambitious home production Agent Vinod is releasing on March 23 and he surely wouldn't want any trouble close to its release
(less)Saif Ali Khan to build 'Agent Vinod' into a brand
One so much so that the superstar bagged many awards for the unique and technology-driven promotion, and now it is producer-actor Saif Ali Khan's turn who is readying for his film Agent Vinod's March release. As part of the marketing and promotions of the spy-thriller, the makers have tied up with the fast-food giant McDonald's to launch an exclusive comic book.
If that wasn't all, Saif also plans to launch a Playstation 3 game, all of which revolve around 'Agent Vinod' which has been shot over 12 countries, including Morocco, Russia and Latvia . Talking about the concept of the game, says Saif Ali Khan , an avid gamer himself, "At each level, the gamer will be provided with clues to nail the bad guy, who could range from a ' chaalu ' (street smart) knife-wielding dada (don) from Mumbai's dark underbelly to an international mafia kingpin.
If the baddie is killed in the shootout, the gamer earns points and moves on to the next level." Saif further adds, "When the first CDs came out, I was hooked.
I was lost in this dark virtual space. If the film works, we are planning to build 'Agent Vinod' into a brand.

(less)Asin, the original choice for item song 'Dhanno'!
Not many know this, but the actress has a long-standing association with Sajid Khan. In fact, Asin was approached for the first installment of the movie, 'Housefull'.
But unfortunately the actor could not accommodate the movie due to date issues. "Despite not being able to accommodate dates for the film, director Sajid Khan was keen for Asin to do the hit dance number 'Dhanno' from the same movie.
But that too didn't work out as she was busy with another film. That's when Jacqueline Fernandez was roped in for the same," says a source.
However, when the team of 'Housefull' decided to make a sequel to the super hit flick, Asin was roped in for the movie and this time around, they found the perfect opportunity to work together. The actor will be seen sharing screen space with a stellar star-cast of Akshay Kumar , John Abraham , Riteish Deshmukh, Shreyas Talpade , Rishi Kapoor , Randhir Kapoor, Mithun Chakraborty , Boman Irani and Zarine Khan among others

The movie will be released on Feb. 24.
Photo/Ajit Solanki) Bipasha Basu has changed and how! The actress, known for her occasional tantrums has changed completely - for the better! A unit hand from the sets of Jodi Breakers informed us that the actress has been so nice to the crew of Jodi Breakers that everyone on the sets has started loving her. Bipasha not only reports on time, but has also makes the atmosphere more lively.
The actress was so nice with everyone that nobody would ever believe that she could throw tantrums, too. "Bipasha is humble and fun on the sets of Jodi Breakers.
She used to be nice with everyone on the sets. Not just that the actress used to bring smile to most of the unit members' faces by distributing gifts," we were told.
Is it the after effects of her break-up with long time beau John, we don't know. But sharing is caring, and Bips has been doing a lot of that these days
(less)Konkona Sen to comeback with 'Gaur Hari Dastaan’
Konkona plays the wife of Odisha's freedom fighter Gaur Hari Das, who fought for four years to free the country from the British rule and had to struggle for over 30 years in free India to prove that he'd done so to get a freedom fighter's certificate! Says Ananth, "When I had first read about Gaur Hari Das in The Times of India, I had found his story very interesting. The man is a metaphor for the times we live in.
He did his bit for the freedom movement and this is what the country did for him. The very people for whom he fought didn't acknowledge his contribution.
That's the irony of the situation. I understand that it's uncannily timely to make a film on such a subject in India now.
" While Vinay Pathak is playing the role of Gaur Hari, Konkona is playing his wife Lakshmi Das. "Vinay does not have an image as such though he has been more associated with the comic roles that he has been doing in the recent past.
However, I have always seen him as a thinking actor and as someone who can delve under the skin of a character. I believe in breaking images and that's what I did with Sunil Shetty when I cast him in "Red Alert".
The most challenging part is that on-screen, Vinay's character will see a growth from the age of 35 to 70 without using too much of make-up," the director says. As for Konkona, she was an obvious choice.
Curiously enough, Konkona is supposed to have striking similarities in terms of looks with Lakshmi. "Konkona has met with her.
Though she is more of a silent observer, Laksmi is strong person in her own way and provides the balance between Das and his son. The son had initially been disilluioned by his father.
Konkona's character is the balancing factor between two different schools of thought of the father and the son. His son had shifted to the US and obviously had a different approach to life.
Konkona has the maturity to play such a character. I was overwhelmed by her performance in "Dosar" and the wide range of emotions she has portrayed in the film.
The kind of film I am trying to make is subtle. I am not trying to preach," he adds.
"She is more mature and complete now. The domestic changes in her life has perhaps made her see life differently.
We had some workshops before we began shooting. On Sunday, she took to acting as if she had left it the day before.
It didn't take her any time to get back to the groove. The white streaks in her hair makes her resemble Lakshmi Das so much.
On-screen, Koko has aged gracefully," the director insists. Meanwhile, Konkona's husband, Ranvir Shorey, is also a part of the cast.
But he has nothing to do with Konkona's character. The director has merged two characters to create Ranvir's role.
In the film, he plays a newspaper reporter. Tannishtha Chatterjee is playing another reporter who also unearths Gaur Hari's case.
Though Odisha is an important part of the movie, the film will not be shot in the State. "We have found locations closer to Mumbai that resemble the old Odisha.
This story is very important because Odisha needs to feel proud of the son of its soil. Gaur Hari's tale started off from Balasore.
He had spent 180 days in a jail in Balasore. In the film, we will go back in the flashback mode and recreate the Balasore jail.
For me, it's important to show what the common man in the form of Gaur Hari was doing when India got independence. We will also be showing the countryside of Odisha in the film though we will not be shooting there.
" Gaur Hari himself has been very involved with the project. "He is touching 80.
He has been with us since the beginning and has shared a wealth of information, including the files and correspondences that he had with the government. That's enough for me to make five hours of cinema.
It is a difficult task for me to pick and choose what I want to make this movie," he signs off. Was it difficult for Konkona to face the camera after her comeback? "She is more mature and complete now.
The domestic changes in her life has perhaps made her see life differently. We had some workshops before we began shooting.
On Sunday, she took to acting as if she had left it the day before. It didn't take her any time to get back to the groove.
The white streaks in her hair makes her resemble Lakshmi Das so much. On-screen, Koko has aged gracefully," the director insists

(less)Imran denies saying he has an edge over Ranbir
And recently, around the time of Kareena-Imran-starrer Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu promotions, when Imran was quoted saying that he has an edge over Ranbir because he can be romantically paired with Kareena whereas Ranbir can't, the controversial statement led to many tongues wagging. But, when Imran was asked upfront about it, Imran denied making the statement.
"That is not my quote. Some one said that I can work with Kareena and Ranbir can't, and I merely said, "Yes, that is true.
" "I don't make such antagonistic and aggressive statements. That is the fabrication of some eager journalist," the actor further said laughing.
Coming to her co-star's defence, Kareena says, "Imran is too sweet a guy to make such statements. And I don't think there is an edge because everyone knows that Ranbir and I am brother and sister (laughs).
So it is no big deal." Quoted or misquoted, we don't know, but many movie-buffs definitely feel sad about the fact that huge talents and beautiful actors like Kareena and Ranbir who are known for their cinematic brilliance cannot be romantically paired in a film.

(less)‘Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu’ is an ever-grin mellow-drama
..
well, full-on. He needs to loosen up.
Urgently!! Son of two stuffed-up high-society mannequins Rahul Kapoor is a repressed child going into depressive manhood. Since this is a rom-com, and one sparkling with vigour with warmth and what-have-youth, you know Rahul will meet Ms Fun-Feisty-Full-On before Reel 1 is done.
Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu (EMAET) comprises a series of elegantly-written, confident but never in-your-face scenes about what happens when two opposites meet in a city as all-embracing as Las Vegas. Of course, sparks fly.
Well-neon facts, these. But neither Kareena Kapoor nor Imran Khan is in a hurry to set off a combustive fire.
There is a whole lot of tranquility in the way the relationship between the firebrand and the nerd is built. The rough edges are largely sacrificed on the editing table.
The progression of the relationship is seamless and smooth. Unlike, say, Siddharth Anand's 'Anjaana Anjaani' where the on-screen rapport between the protagonists suffered because one of the actors was constantly trying to steal scenes from the other, here neither Kareena nor Imran is in a hurry to hijack a single moment from one another.
This is one of the most immaculately cast romantic comedies in recent times. Sure, Kareena has an edge.
Her character is less passive than Imran's and she some of the film's best lines. The actress, back in form after two marginalized mammoth odes to machismo ('Bodyguard', 'Ra.
One') turns in a perfectly-modulated performance . Her character is not so much a portrait of warmth and radiance as it is an illustration of perfect asymmetry.
Here's a woman who enjoys the chaos that she creates in her universe. She lives by her own rules.
And before the film is done she teaches Imran Khan's character how to tell your parents to buzz off before it's too late. Rules be stuffed down the toilet.
Imran is good at playing the attentive, obedient, faithful boyfriend. He did the invisible-halo act effectively in 'Jaane Tu.
..
Ya Jaane Na', 'Break Ke Baad' and 'Mere Brother Ki Dulhan'. He does it even better here, probably because of the company he keeps in this film.
There are episodes in this boy-meets-girl, girl-tweaks-boy's-life saga that leave you smiling for a very long time. Indeed EMAET is a high-concept ever-grin mellow-drama.
You just can't stop grinning at the sparkling warmth and the cute quips shared by the lead pair. Curiously, debutant director Shakun Batra opts for an open ending.
Finally, we only know that some day Rahul might win the feisty Rihana over. But here's the glimmer of hope.
Even if he doesn't win her over he gets to keep her company for as long as they share a common ground. Here is a film that doesn't score high on ground-breaking ideas on romantic relationships.
Instead it weaves itself into commonplace ideas on love romance and commitment and comes up with vignettes of terrific sincerity. A lot of the film's gently persuasive energy comes from the discernible respect that the lead pair has for each other's space as actors.
No one-upmanship here, thank you. Boman Irani and Ratna Pathak Shah too are delightful as Imran's la-di-dah parents.
They reminded me of Pran and Sonia Sahni in Raj Kapoor's Bobby. In comparison Kareena's Catholic family comes across as too casual to be real.
Within two weeks Dharma Productions has given us two diametrically opposite genres of cinema from two debutant directors. If Karan Malhotra's 'Agneepath' took us back to the grand formulistic revenge drama of the 1970s EMAET takes us into the future of Bollywood where actors don't have to sing.
They don't have to act. They just have to be as normal as people in love tend to be.
This is a perceptibly urbane love story, told with in a style shorn of gimmicks. There is no attempt to capture our attention.
The narrative gets us watching without getting sweaty with anxiety. A very chilled-out romcom indeed

(less)I’ve always had a crush on Bebo: Imran Khan

(less)Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu: Movie Review
She tags him with the paradox - 'perfectly average'. That precisely defines the film as well.
It's perfect in whatever it offers. But what it offers is quite average in volume.
Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu is a rom-com about two diagonally opposite individuals. The boy leads a bland and boring life.
The girl is blabbermouth and full of life. Their paths cross.
And as expected, opposites attract. So what's new? Rahul (Imran Khan) could never come out of the shadow of his parents who tried molding him in their customized templates.
A random encounter with Riana (Kareena Kapoor) leads to a few drinks and they wake up next morning to realize they got married in their drunken stupor. Annulling their accidental wedlock would take a few days.
Meanwhile Riana loses her rented apartment and checks-in with Rahul. The uptight Rahul loosens up in Riana's company and starts 'living life'.
Cupid strikes Rahul over a Kuch Kuch Hota Hai song. Further they fly to India where Riana expectedly introduces Rahul to her extended joint family - the only variation being they are Christian folks over the perpetual Punjabi prototypes.
What follows includes misunderstandings, separations and reunions..
. Let the accidental marriage idea not mislead you.
Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu is nowhere in the zone of Hollywood flicks like What Happens in Vegas (2008) or The Proposal (2009). The accidental marriage theme is employed more as a gimmick and doesn't contribute anything to the story.
In fact the makers take the convenient route and entirely do away with the actual marriage scene from the narrative. Also the lead pair chooses to stay together and is never compelled by any legal obligations.
The writing by Ayesha Devitre and Shakun Batra is a case of too much screenplay without much story. The overall tone of the film is refreshingly lighthearted and the chemistry between Kareena and Imran is conversational over corporeal.
But somewhere the story seems too shallow after a point with no tangible plot-point conflicts and the screenplay tries to fill that void with birthday parties, New Year celebrations, school revisits and such similar elements that remain external to the central plot. Nevertheless you find solace in the film's subdued sense of humour and subtle temperament.
The subtlety is not per se but largely because the story is devoid of any theatrical twists. And the residual dramatic sequences are handled with utmost sensitivity by director Shakun Batra, like Imran's climactic outburst at the dinner table.
The dialogues comprise more of carefree and casual conversations over dramatically designed punches and go smoothly with the natural flow of scenes. There's an intentional aberration in the end to set the film in a league of its own but could disappoint the ones viewing the film as a Valentine special.
Kareena Kapoor is beautiful in both her looks and acts. Despite playing the chirpy-outgoing girl, she never goes overboard and is absolutely adorable.
Playing the high-strung guy with deadpan expressions comes naturally to Imran Khan . He comes up with a fairly decent act.
Their chemistry is informal and affable. Ratna Pathak Shah as the elite fashion-fanatic mother is too good.
Boman Irani as the business-minded father is restrained in his role. Sonia Mehra (after some disastrous films) comes across as desirable in her one-scene cameo.
Ram Kapoor gets no scope. The actor playing Kareena's father is funny and a fresh deviation from the regular father figures of Bollywood.
Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu is the kind of film you don't mind watching. But then again, you don't miss anything imaginative if you skip this.
Verdict: Above average

(less)Kareena's never been on a date!
Your thoughts on Valentine's Day? Kareena: I don't believe in the idea of celebrating only one day as Valentine's Day. I believe in the power of love and feel it should be celebrated everyday.
I am in love everyday and not only on one particular day. Imran: It doesn't mean anything to me.
I'd rather take time off for my wife, Avantika, give her emotional support and work on our relationship than send her a bouquet of roses. Do you remember your first date? Kareena: Believe me, I have never been on a date! I have been in relationships, of course, but no guy has ever told me, 'Chalo Bandstand jaakar nariyal paani peete hain' .
Imran: My first date was in Bangalore when I was 15. I went to a boarding school there and the girl and I went to watch "Lethal Weapon" and then to a newly-opened pizza restaurant.
Your ideal date? Kareena: Somewhere around snow-peaked mountains..
. a very Yash Chopra kind of atmosphere and romance, and me in a beautiful sari! I love snow, fondue and Switzerland , so that would be ideal.
Imran: Probably having nariyal paani at Bandstand! On our first V-Day, Avantika and I probably must've gone out for dinner. Most romantic film? Kareena: "Bridges of Madison County".
I love mushy films! Imran: Can't think of any..
. mush is irrelevant for me.
Most romantic couple offscreen? Kareena: I like Imran and Avantika. They are very cute, relaxed and don't bother about the rest.
Imran: I don't remember ever saying, 'Wow, what a great couple!' for anyone. How do you like being proposed to? Kareena: The guy proposing to me should take me for a nice fondue dinner.
..
I like candles, wine, champagne and strawberries and the typical mushy affair..
. I love shaadi, mandap, baaraat.
..
Imran: I had filled the room with candles when I proposed to Avantika. Any dating tips for youngsters? Kareena: I think youngsters today should be giving us tips instead! Before I know it, my niece will be going on a date! Imran: I have nothing to contribute.
Relationships are intensely personal. I can't even give tips to my closest friends!

I thought that the flash mob came out even better than expected since people kept joining the mob throughout the sequence and it definitely surprised those that did not know of it ahead of time," Mohit Chhatpar, coordinator of the flash mob, said.

We are excited about this movie as well and are glad he could come and be among us to talk about his movie," he added. The Dharma Productions' film, also starring Kareena Kapoor, is set to hit theatres Feb 10.

(less)'Ek Main Aur... ' puts spotlight on Las Vegas
"One of the main reasons for films not to be shot in Las Vegas is that the character of the place is very defined and we need to show it as Las Vegas. It can't be shown as any other city.
Since most films are not set there, it gets difficult. In case of "Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu" our film is set in Las Vegas and Mumbai," Batra told IANS.
"To shoot 'Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu' was a bit difficult as we were shooting in the middle of Christmas and New Year to catch the festivities of the place. Otherwise, it is like shooting in any other foreign location," added the director who spent 30 days there to shoot the film.
The Alps in Switzerland , beaches in New Zealand and Australia or the hustle bustle of cities like London , New York , Los Angeles , Bangkok or Kuala Lumpur , have become a staple in Bollywood films as it jazzes up the look and feel of the movie, but filmmakers have stayed away from Las Vegas so far. In last 14 years a few films were shot in the entertainment capital of the world -- "Pardes" (1997), "Jeans" 1998 and 2010 releases "Kites" and "Anjaana Anjaani".
Though filmmakers stay away from shooting movies in the Las Vegas for obvious reasons, but tourists are thronging the place. Located in the Nevada state in the US, the place, also known as "sin city" for its relaxed laws on gaming and prostitution, reportedly receives about 40 million visitors every year.
Now Imran wants to backpack and holiday in Las Vegas with friends. "Every year Imran Khan and his buddies take off to back packing trip for a week or so.
This year he is very keen all his friends and he should visit Las Vegas," said a source close to the actor. "Imran fell in love with Las Vegas while shooting there for 'Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu' last year.
Kareena Kapoor and he had a blast while shooting. The place is anyways very peppy and full of life, however, Christmas and New Year it turns special.
Imran Khan tried to learn gambling, watched plays and magic shows to enjoy the festivity the unit had a blast," the source added. The travel package for Las Vegas costs between Rs.
1,50,000 to Rs.200,000 and one gets to see other cities too.
"These locations where films are shot are very expensive. Young people and young families are more inclined towards such trips.
They call for queries and ask us to include the specific locations in their package, but after working out the complete package it turns out a little expensive -- so at times they drop it down considering their budget," said Nupur Goswami, sr. consultant of outbound tour at Prime Travels.
"A trip to Las Vegas alone does not really happen often because it is included in package with other places. But if somebody wants to, then the package would roughly be around Rs.
1,50,000," she added. Neeraj Dev, head of Outbound Vertical at Yatra Online Pvt Ltd, said: "People don't visit Las Vegas alone, the package includes New York, Washington and Las Vegas.
They spend about two-three nights in Vegas. It is a 15 days package, which comes around to Rs.
200,000."

(less)Chaos at Imran Khan's event
And as far as Imran Khan is concerned, Aamir's 'perfectionist' attitude seems to have rubbed off on the young actor as well. Recently, Khan Jr was in town for the promotion of his upcoming flick, "Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu" co-staring Kareena Kapoor.
And as usual, chaos reigned in Hyderabad. While most of us are used to the disruptions and lack of proper organization at most city events, it was difficult for the actor to keep up with the confusion.
It all began with the press conference starting two hours behind schedule. While chaos reigned supreme at the venue over Imran's no show, once there, he put on his perfectionist hat to make sure everything was running smoothly.
From reprimanding the photographers for being unruly, to organizing a better way to do the photo-op, Imran was at his best. "Please don't fall on one another.
Aap please thoda peeche chale jaaye, unko bhi photo lena hai," the actor tried his best to accommodate the requests of photographers. "Now I'm officially blind," he joked when finally the shutterbugs had stopped clicking.
Meanwhile, a fan managed to come up near the actor during the Q&A session with the media. "Why are you wearing a beard?" she asked.
"It's for my next film," replied Imran thinking the lady was part of the media contingent present. "Could you please pose for a picture for my son? We are your fans," said the lady next.
"Ma'am, you're not from the media, I guess. I think it's really disrespectful when you do this while the media is here for a Q&A session with me," said a pretty miffed Imran, while the organizers had no control over who was getting into the venue.
Earlier, Iman was scheduled to unveil a calendar at the venue. But it did not happen as the production house claimed there was no such contract with them.
The organizers then got ace shuttler Jwala Gutta , who was present at the venue, to unveil it
(less)Ek Main Aur... inspired by Woody Allen films: Karan Johar
"This is something new that Shakun is attempting here. He is a big fan of Woody Allen and brings with him a different grammar of filmmaking.
"As a result of that, you would see a lot more conversation happening here. You would notice that in many a Hollywood romcom, there are these walk-talk sequences where it is just you and the camera in motion.
You would see something similar in Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu ," Johar said. The 39-year-old, who is known for his romantic films Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham, Kal Ho Naa Ho, My Name Is Khan and Wake Up Sid , also said that such films are far more difficult to do than conventional cinema.
"It is far tougher to find connectivity with an audience since there are no buffers like dramatic pauses, background score, props to enhance a scene. It is just the actors doing their talk and the trick is to hold a viewer's attention right through their conversation," he said.
Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu is also making headlines for its unusual pairing but Johar says that it was a conscious call to get Kareena and Imran together for the first time on the big screen. "We wanted people who are actually poles apart.
Shakun is very close to Imran in real life as well and as friends, they wanted the characters to shape up in a particular way." "For our production house though it is not very unusual.
Weren't Ranbir Kapoor and Konkona Sen sharma paired in Wake Up Sid ? Once in a while it is interesting to see unconventional pairing on screen," Johar added. Talking about Imran and Kareena's character in the film Johar said, "They could get their real life personality onto the film.
Imran is meant to be this very perfectionist young man. So while he is a very stuffy kind of a character, he is also very focused and doesn't let himself go.
On the other hand Kareena plays this woman is who like a modern version of Geet from Jab We Met ." The film, about two different people who marry each other after a drunken night in Las Vegas, is set to hit the theatres on Feburary 10.
