BT finds out what's been keeping her on her toes lately. After Love Aaj Kal you are back again with Saif Ali Khan in Aarakshan and then Cocktails.

Buzz is that there is a bond developing between you two. Love Aaj Kal is a very special film for me.

Post that, Saif and I are coming together in a couple of more films. I am glad filmmakers have offered us roles together.

There is certainly a comfort level with Saif as we have worked together. There is always a certain comfort level when you have already worked with an actor and I'm glad that post the success of Love Aaj Kal, people want to see us in more films together.

Talking of the comfort level between co-stars, after Om Shanti Om why hasn't Shah Rukh Khan worked with you again? SRK said to me once at a party that the film we did was so big and special that our next film has to be as big or bigger. He'll always be my most special co-star, and when the time is right I am sure something will happen.

You've said that Ranbir Kapoor is still a close friend, but on Karan Johar's show it didn't seem so. What has changed between now and then? Nothing has changed.

We were friends then and we are friends now. If you sign a film with Ranbir, it will automatically become one of the most anticipated films.

Do you see that happening? Why not? It should happen. Does Sidhartha (Mallya) watch all your films? I don't think he's watched too many Hindi films.

What makes for a romantic relationship? First of all to love with all your heart without expecting. Also, trust, compatibility, space, patience and no ego.

Your Dum Marro Dum song, though controversial, worked big time with the youth. What connects you so strongly with them? I owe it to my choice of films and endorsements.

Also as I mentioned earlier, since childhood I have been extremely focused, ambitious and sure of what I want to do. Today's youth is also focused and ambitious, so I guess they feel a connect in that sense.

Actresses are either beautiful or they are hot. You are one of the rare ones who is often referred to as both.

What do you think helps more: being beautiful or hot ? Being hot or beautiful is the way you feel at a given point of time, but what is more important is to be a good human. That's what people remember you for.

A friend of the veteran actor revealed to Mirror, "Santoshi is making a comedy with Abhay and Sonam. Anil Kapoor, who has known Santoshi for a long time, may produce it.

A special award was bestowed upon megastar Amitabh Bachchan for the last season of Kaun Banega Crorepati , which proved to be a worthy platform for the common man. The Apsara Awards, organised by the Film and Television Producers Guild of India in association with Wizcraft International Entertainment and channel Colors, was hosted by witty filmmakers Farah Khan and Karan Johar.

It had a line-up of entertaining acts. A highlight was the kickstarting of the celebrations of 100 years of Indian cinema .

As a special segment of the celebrations, the awards night hosted a special tribute dedicated to the cinema legends and their glorious years in Bollywood. Veteran stars like Rajesh Khanna, Zeenat Aman and Jaya Bachchan came upon the stage for it.

Other performances were a hit too. Band Baaja Baaraat actress Anushka Sharma took to the stage to groove with popular telly actors Nandish Sandhu, Sushant Singh Rajput and Shabbir Ahluwalia on songs like Dum dum, Thag le and Jazba respectively.

"The movie is totally different from other quintessential masala flicks. There is a lot more reality on display in Department that makes it different from a Singham or Dabangg.

In fact there is no comparison whatsoever," Daggubati said. I'm an actor. Not someone who dances for money.

Sonam on Shahid: Somebody once asked me what was the one thing I didn't know about Shahid. I said, 'I know everything!' Opposites generally create intense chemistry.

There are more chances of fireworks when different people are together than similar personalities. I like the fact that Shahid is hard-working, he is a gentleman and treats me well.

What I don't like about him is that he is too much of a perfectionist. Usually you have to warm up to your co-star while doing scenes, but with Shahid it happened right from day one.

We are still in touch and we know most stuff about each other. We haven't spoken about our friendship and it was presumed that we aren't friends.

It is a quiet kind of friendship. We both understand what is happening in our lives.

We know what films we are doing next, where we are going to be in the next two to three years. I rarely make friends in the film industry and Shahid is one of them.

He likes talkative girls. We discuss our personal lives but it is better if we keep it to ourselves.

Shahid on Sonam She has a very vulnerable and innocent quality about her, that is essential for a love story like Mausam. She has an Indian face and I find girls with Indian faces very attractive.

We spent about two years together during the making of the film, and have become good friends now. In fact, she is my 3 am friend.

We went through a lot of ups and downs during the shoot. Since dad was directing, there were many days when I would get stressed out but Sonam was always there to comfort me.

When we were shooting the climax, which had lots of emotional and dramatic sequences, she would be talking non-stop before every shot. I don't talk that much! She does that when she is nervous.

It is fun to be with someone who is different, otherwise it gets boring. Family is her priority and I admire that quality in her.

And I managed to spend some time with my family too," he says. Ask him whether he is working with Anushka in the film, and Rana says, "The filmmakers are still looking for a newcomer who can fit the bill.

Ask him why he took so long to make his Kollywood debut and he says, "I had been hoping to do a Tamil film for some time and in the meantime, Department happened. There was a bit of a wait and finally the right script found me.

" The buzz is that he has a cameo in Vada Chennai that is being directed by National Award-winning filmmaker Vetri Maran. "You could call it whatever you want, but it is a strong supporting role, narrated in a Shakespearean style.

It doesn't matter whether the role is small or big," he says, adding that the film will also be dubbed in Telugu. So, how does he manage to juggle work in three industries? "It's quite challenging to switch between characters.

For instance, Naa Ishtam is a romcom in which I play a loud character; and when I was on the sets of Department, I had to change my body language, which was challenging," he says. Rana's love life has come under a lot of speculation, mainly because of his relationship with Bipasha Basu , but the actor prefers to dish out the just-friends cliche.

"Bipasha is a very sweet and nice person. I haven't figured out how to respond to these questions," he says, adding, "Bipasha, Rohan (Sippy) and the Dum Maaro Dum team are my only friends in Mumbai.

"The movie is totally different from other quintessential masala flicks. There is a lot more reality on display in Department that makes it different from a Singham or Dabangg.

In fact there is no comparison whatsoever," Daggubati said. The actor, who started his career in Bollywood opposite Bipasha Basu in Dum Maro Dum , says the film has been shot in real locations and he was given individual references by Varma to understand in detail the working of a police department.

"We have been quite honest about the setting and for that credit must go to Ramu. Right from the time that I signed the film, he gave me a lot of briefing around what indeed goes behind the walls of police department.

He gave me quite a few individual references and I had a number of months available for me to prepare for the role. We met on a regular basis and now that we are shooting for the film, the learning process is still on.

It is pretty much on the job training for me," Daggubati added. The actor started his career with a superhit film down South, says he enjoys all the female attention he gets despite not doing any romcom so far.

"What is surprising and something that I really like a lot is that such female attention is coming in despite the fact that the films I have done are very genre based. They haven't been those mainstream romcom films that girls usually like.
