Azim looks up to Salman, SRK and Aamir Khan
To make his character in "Qasam Se Qasam Se" appear realistic, Azim frequented call centre offices to absorb the finer nuances of the people working there. "It was quite a relevation for me as an actor.
I witnessed not only people's mannerisms but also the activities they indulge in during the break hour. Looking into the mirror, some guys would be busy ruffling their hair and taking care of their looks, while some would busy binging.
And there would others catching up with family and friends over their cell phones. This has helped shaped my character in the film.
" Azim feels that all our veteran actors were keen observers and would translate that on screen. "Whether it were the legendary actors like Dilip Kumar or the late Raj Kapoor or Dev Anand , they were schools in themselves.
I am a great fan of Salman Khan , Shah Rukh Khan and Aamir Khan and look at them as a student who looks upon his guru. I am mastering the art of acting watching their films," he smiles

My absolute must haves are browns, bronze and red shades of make-up, as they give my skin tone a very nice shine and suit me very well. I always carry these colors in my bag because I never know when I might show up at an event and feel completely under-dressed.
Also, any of these shades really adds that extra glow."

(less)Riteish and Genelia Deshmukh marries again
While talking about the honeymoon plans, Riteish had told us, "We can't have a honeymoon this month. Our producer Kumar Taurani has strictly forbidden us to go anywhere till our film releases this month as he wants Genelia and me to promote the film in various cities.
David Dhawan's son Rohit gets married on February 10, so immediately after our wedding Genelia and I will have to rush to Goa for that again. After that, will be my brother Dheeraj's wedding during the end of the month to Honey Bhagnani .
I have to be there for all the pre-wedding arrangements so going for our honeymoon this month seems impossible now."
(less)I never thought I'd be a desirable woman: Sameera Reddy
"My name in the list means a lot to me. As as a young girl, I never thought even in my wildest dreams that I would become a desirable woman.
I yearned for a perfect body as I was ugly duckling in school. But now that I have entered films, I believe that beauty is hidden in the imperfections of people and it all depends on how you use them.
That's my definition of desirable and I am glad to have made it to the list," says Sameera. The actor is basking in the success of her last Tamil release opposite Madhavan and has Padma Shri Priyadarshan's Tezz to look forward to.
Sameera has now decided that she will do a mix of performance-oriented and glamorous characters on screen, something that Simran and Jyothika did in Kollywood. So is the report true that Sameera wants to become the next Simran and Jyothika? "You cannot become another person.
I had said that I look up to both Simran and Jyothika, who had a mixed bag of roles- performance-oriented and cute characters. Both had their own fan following .
They are my role models and I want to have a beautiful lineup of characters like them," says the actor
(less)Sherlyn Chopra likes being unconventional
Be it politics, cinema, sports, business or any other arena, women across the globe including India are in great form mentally, physically and consciously to undertake greater responsibilities and tougher challenges that are often encountered on paths less travelled." Sherlyn is also happy that she has gone from being just a pin-up girl to an entrepreneur.
Says she, "The rapid metamorphosis in my case would not have been possible had the mindsets of the majority of the people in the Hindi film industry continued to be goverened by prejudices. I look upto entrepreneurs who command respect and attention for daring to think out of the box and act accordingly.
They do not have a herd mentality. What they have is unadulterated creativity which is set on fire by courage.
" Naming films like " The Dirty Picture ", " Erin Brokovich ", " No One Killed Jessica "," The Black Swan " as cinema that has changed the way we think, Sherlyn says, "Unconventionality is no longer a taboo. It is being applauded and celebrated by both the classes and the masses.
The pulse of the youth is racing towards liberalisation. And I'm truly loving it.
" Asked why she decided to give us photographs that resembled those of the " Jism 2 " campaign, the actor quips, "I have pushed the envelope by choosing to cover my nakedness with nothing but pure consciousness."

Kangana Ranaut who left mouths wide open at her movie Fashion’s first look held at Cinemax. She was wearing something small in shining yellow and guess what she claims she has designed that dress herself.
Hold on… if you think this is the end then please wait, there’s more to come) She was also flaunting some red color false flowers and feathers on her made-up hair. Also a yellow color strap on her neck which resembled a dog collar.
If that wasn”t enough she also carried herself on shinning red heels and a matching red color bag. Thankfully Priyanka Chopra and Mugdha Godse too were present and were looking extremely stunning and beautiful.

(less)Flash mob greets Imran at New York University
"I had a blast at NYU. Everyone was so enthusiastic, they put on a very polished, confident show, and the surprise flash mob at the end was perfectly executed.
My best wishes to all the students involved," Imran said in a statement. The students had been practising for the performance for over two weeks, ahead of Imran's visit to New York as part of the promotional tour.
"As the president of NYU Dillagi, a Bollywood dance team, I knew we had to have simpler steps that the general public would be able to do and we sent videos out to the public. I thought that the flash mob came out even better than expected since people kept joining the mob throughout the sequence and it definitely surprised those that did not know of it ahead of time," Mohit Chhatpar, coordinator of the flash mob, said.
"It was really fun to be doing a flash mob and having Imran among us was all the more fun. He was very sporting and interacted with the students.
We are excited about this movie as well and are glad he could come and be among us to talk about his movie," he added. The Dharma Productions' film, also starring Kareena Kapoor, is set to hit theatres Feb 10.

(less)Mohit Suri to direct Aashiqui 2 with fresh faces
"It's been 20 years for that film. So, obviously now I will have to upgrade this story.
It will be the same realistic love story but with a modern theme," Suri told IANS. Aashiqui won critical accolades after its release at the time.
It also catapulted the careers of lead actors Rahul Roy and Anu Agarwal, who forayed into Bollywood with this film. Suri is also set to hunt for new faces for the sequel.
"I will cast fresh faces with a new boy and a new girl," said Mohit. While some are referring to Aashiqui 2 as a sequel, others are calling it a remake.
However, producer Mukesh Bhatt of Vishesh Films sets the record straight. "It is neither a sequel nor a remake.
It can be said as the musical series of Aashiqui ..
.a new generation is making this film," he said.

Is Priyanka delaying Ileana’s debut?
While previously we had written about how PC had snubbed the debutante on the sets of the film, now rumours are doing the rounds that Priyanka's month-long stay in Los Angeles (where she is working on her first international music album) has affected the Barfee schedule. This in turn is delaying the South star's Hindi film debut, where she plays the third lead alongside PC and Ranbir Kapoor.
A trade source says, "Anurag has one schedule still left to shoot in Hong Kong , apart from some other talkie portions. With Priyanka being in LA for a month, it has taken a toll on the schedule and some date adjustments have been made.
The film will now release in mid 2012." This means Bollywood will get a peek at Ileana only around June-July 2012.
The No. 1 girl from Kollywood will have to wait patiently for the next seven months to make her Hindi film splash.
However, producer Siddharth Roy Kapur denies that Priyanka has left Barfee in the lurch. Says he, "I don't know where these stories are coming from.
PC has been very open with us about her professional commitments, be it her album or her movies. She hasn't delayed our film.
" Asked whether Ileana is under exclusive contract till Barfee releases, Siddharth says, "We have a two-film contract with her, but she is not under an exclusive contract and is free to do other films." Yawn.

(less)Vidya Balan hospitalised | Bollywood News and Gossip
Her parents took her to the doctor who advised immediate hospitalisation. Reportedly, Vidya was admitted to Lilavati Hospital and was kept under observation for three days.
A source explained that the actress underwent several tests and the results indicated that her hemoglobin level was too low. She was put on drip.
“Even though she has been discharged, the doctors have given Vidya strict instructions to rest for the next week,” said the source. With the actress asked to put work aside for sometime, the last few shoots for The Dirty Picture will have to wait.
The source explained, “There are still about five to six days of filming left. With Vidya recuperating, the shoot will have to wait.
Ekta and Milan, however, are not worried about the delay. But definitely this delay is cutting too close to the scheduled November 2 release.
” Apparently, Vidya has been following the doctors’ orders and has been trying to get as much rest as possible. “She has been at home the entire time.
While her parents and sister have been nursing her, her sister’s children Ira and Ruhaan have been keeping her entertained,” added the source. When contacted, an official from the hospital, on request of anonymity, confirmed, “Yes, Vidya was admitted to Lilavati.
Her test results indicated that she had a low RBC count and was undergoing treatment for it.” Sphere: Related Content Posted in
(less)Shiney Ahuja: My wife thinks I’m too simple
We caught up with Shiney at an event recently, where he opened up to us. "We have appealed against the conviction in the high court and fortunately the high court has accepted our appeal.
Now, we are waiting for the paper book to happen. We are looking forward to an early hearing," said Shiney.
Shiney, who looked relaxed and cheerful on his recent visit to the capital for the promotion of his upcoming movie "Ghost" produced by Bharat Shah, confessed, "I'm grateful to Bharatji and Puja Jatinder Bedi, the producer of the film, who stood by me in my difficult times and gave me the chance to make a comeback in movies again. It was good to see that the entire Bollywood fraternity has not forgotten me.
I'm grateful to all who have been by my side. I remember last month I bumped into filmmaker Imtiaz Ali in my building.
He came forward, hugged me, and asked, 'How are you Shiney?' It was just a single line but that line had lot of meaning and warmth. I could actually feel his concern and empathy for me.
" So has life changed in these two years? "Yes, life has definitely changed a lot and also the way I look at it has changed. I have gone through a lot of ups and downs, but I strongly believe that everything that is happening around me is God's will.
Initially it was tough, but my family, specially my wife Anu, supported me a lot. I also owe it to my four-year-old daughter.
I feel she walked into my life as God's messenger. In these two years, I enjoyed being with her, dropping her to school everyday, playing games and being the perfect dad.
Finally, the people whom I had met two years back as an actor still remain the same. They admire me and have prayed for my comeback.
My friends , and even my wife, keep telling me that I'm too simple, innocent and straightforward a person. Now if somebody has to say anything then what can you do about that.
" How does it feel to face the camera again? "I'm just loving doing what I enjoy doing. Facing the camera, for me, is like a learning process, where I try to understand not only myself but also my character and more about the world around me.
So once you get used to that learning and then suddenly you miss it midway it's almost like taking childhood away from a child. As an actor, it was a liberating process for me and I could feel the pain during the gap of two years.
I'm happy to be back on the big screen. Trust me, we all don't really plan our careers, it's like a script that we all write, but most of it never happens in our real lives.
How I am going to enjoy my present is up to me. Both success and failure, I consider it to be part of a success story," said Shiney.
"My daughter is too young to understand all that I have gone through these two years but she could feel the pain and sorrow on my face," he added. "She didn't know anything but her soul could feel my pain.
Just few days back my daughter told my wife after seeing my picture in a newspaper, 'Papa ki yeh wali photo, iss photo mein kitne achhe lag rahe hain woh smile kar rahe hain'. Since then I have made it a point that whenever I face a camera I should smile and make her feel happy.
" About his link-up with Sayali Bhagat , he says, "I have learnt one thing in my acting career, that when you start getting famous you need to take care of success and fame. It's hard for you to make out who those people are who can ruin you.
It is very obvious that in our profession as actors it doesn't take time to become someone from no one. So you need to be cautious and meet genuine people.
I have gone through a lot of pain and when I hear more such stories I just feel like letting it all go. There is no point in talking more about it.
" We hear that Shiney has been approached by Anurag Basu , to do a cameo role in his next movie "Barfee". Shiney says, "I'm truly grateful to Anurag for having faith in me and offering me the role in his next movie.
Besides being a close friend, he has also been a wonderful human being. His words still echo in my ears, 'Shiney, whatever legal matter you are busy with, just don't worry about your career.
Your brother is there to support you.' And I guess that gave me the strength to make a comeback in Bollywood.
" That's not all, recently Shiney interacted with actor Sanjay Dutt at the launch of his movie "Ghost"'s music album and he shared with us, "There are very few people who keep their promises and Sanju baba is one of them. He understood what I went through because we both went through the same pain in our lives.
We have a great bonding."

Beti B is a great joy: Amitabh Bachchan
Excerpts from an interview. For a long time you've been talking of turning 70, but you actually turn 70 only in October next year, yes? It is a way of calculating.
This is my 70th year. I don't understand the fuss about age.
If there is work and I can I do it, then I do it. There is no physicality involved.
If you have the capacity, you go ahead and do it. The way people keep harping on age, it makes it seem like one shouldn't keep this busy at 70.
I have almost seven films due next year! Really? It doesn't seem that way. I am committed to films with Ashutosh Gowariker , Prakash Jha and Shirish Kunder.
I'm still trying to fit in Nikhil Advani's film; it may or may not happen. In Ram Gopal Varma's Department, I've done around a week's work.
..
an extended cameo. I also have cameos in Gauri Shinde's English Vinglish and The Great Gatsby.
In fact, I have just one scene in The Great Gatsby; it's a friendly gesture. Even today young directors are charged up about working with you.
It is wonderful to know that there are people who want to work with me. I haven't worked with these people before, so I am equally looking forward and excited.
I'm fortunate enough to have captured the interest of the younger generation. They are the ones who have all the fresh ideas and new technology and style of making films.
It is always a great adventure. Sometimes with age, you just want to keep reflecting on what has happened in the past.
I don't think that is such a good thing. One has to look ahead.
After four decades in the movies, are there any challenges in a role? Well, if a role is challenging it makes life easier. In Ashu's film, I'm a detective.
In Shirish Kunder's film I play a common man. It will depend a lot on how both directors wish to present their films.
I'm happy that there are different kinds of offers. They weren't offered to me when I was younger.
But when you were younger, your angry-young-man image was larger than life. This is something the audience decides.
I don't think the writers deliberately go out and try to make an image. Are you looking forward to the next season of Kaun Banega Crorepati .
Yes I am. We started KBC in 2000.
It has been 11 years. I didn't do it for one season in between.
Channels have changed. It has been a long period for a game show to last and that too with this kind of a success.
It is very astonishing. You were recently voted a fashion icon.
I read someone's tweet on that. I must thank Rohit Bal for dressing me up the way he did in the latest season of KBC.
He just felt that I had been formal for too long. When I like something that someone is wearing, I hope that I can fit into it.
Many a time it may look a little outlandish. But if I am happy wearing it then I am ok.
Incidentally Rohit is family. He grew up in front of my eyes in Srinagar.
Our families have been very close. As a calendar year comes to a close, is there a sense of deja vu? Nothing of that sort happens.
I just think another year has gone by. And I look forward to the New Year and hope it will be a good one.
Do you make resolutions at the end of the year like most people do? I always say why wait for December 31 to make resolutions? Every year they ask me this question. If I want to make a resolution I will make it today or tomorrow or whenever.
People no longer refer to you as the Big B. You are called 'Dada B' now? (Laughs) Oh yes, my grand child is a great joy.
She is the apple of everyone's eye. It is nice to have a new entrant to the family.
All our attention is diverted there. I keep asking - 'what is she doing? Is she awake, is she asleep? Is she crying?' All of us at home are clued into her.
You've been a great grandpa to Shweta's kids. Is the experience any different a second time around? Abhishek and Aishwarya's baby is closer home.
Shweta lives in Delhi. One hears you are finally learning to speak French and also taking music lessons.
Yes, I have these tapes from which I am trying to grasp the language. As for my music lessons, there are two pianos at home but I haven't gotten started.
They are currently there only to look fashionable and showy. I think it is a huge asset for someone in the later years to know to play a musical instrument.
It will be fantastic. Is gardening a new passion too? No, I have been looking at the garden in Prateeksha for a long time now.
I do it every day without fail

I'm donning Indian and western avatars and it's a very modern film." The film is called Same 2 Same.
However, she refuses to reveal if she is producing the film herself or it is being produced by another banner. On the production front, she says that she and business partner Kuunal Goomer are thrilled that an international and Indian corporate house approached them for a possible tie-up for a three-film deal.
She adds, "We've been approached by a biggie and something may work out. But we haven't finalised it yet.
I don't believe in hierarchy of any sort in my production house, which is only four months old, so I guess the magic's attracting investors as Bollywood is getting so much bigger." Meanwhile, the actress is going full throttle with acting and producing.
In her kitty is Shortcut Romeo with Neil Nitin Mukesh, and Race 2 opposite Saif Ali Khan . She continues, "Post Humraaz, I am working with Abbas Mastan again in Race 2.
I've been paired opposite Saif, and he's a very focused actor. Neil is super cool and we click really well.
" When asked about why she's been missing from the social scene lately, she says, "I don't get drunk and party till 4 am. I would rather work and invest time in my films.
Being a busy bee is good fun."

(less)Not a publicity stunt, was unwell and resting: Veena Malik
A person cannot do two such (publicity) acts in 15 days," the actress said. Few days ago, a nude picture of Veena, sporting an ISI tattoo on the cover of the FHM magazine had caused much outrage.
However, Veena had denied posing nude for the magazine. Following this, there were reports that she has been receiving death threats.
"I was keeping unwell since quite few days. I had called up Ashmit Patel and my mother that I was going to the hotel, as I was unwell," she said.
Veena, who went 'missing' since December 16 from the sets of her upcoming film Mumbai 125 kilometres , was found at a suburban hotel in Mumbai yesterday. Her manager's claims that she had gone missing without informing anyone, had created a hullabaloo.
There were also reports that she had left for Pakistan as her father had disowned her after her nude picture and that her visa was to expire. However, the actress said it was due to the long shooting hours and no breaks between her working schedule, that she had fallen ill.
"When I got to know that the shoot is over, I called up a close friend of mine to pick me up from the sets. I had taken anti-biotics and so was sleeping for about 20-24 hours," she said.
When asked who that close friend was, Veena refused to give any details. Following the high dose of antibiotics, the actress said she slept and was surprised to know that everyone had been finding her since then.
"The moment I got up, I called up my manager and informed him about my health. I also want to meet my father and clear things," Veena said.

(less)Ameesha Patel salutes Anna Hazare
I salute him for that. I sincerely hope and wish that all his fasting and protesting does yield the desired results," said Ameesha Tuesday.
Hazare's fast at New Delhi's Ramlila Maidan for a stringent anti-corruption law entered its eighth day Tuesday. Ameesha, 36, who was here to launch a spa, scotched speculation that she was planning to foray into the small screen.
"Yes, I accept that the small screen is now no more small. Big and established stars are all joining the bandwagon.
But for me it's a no. I have not been approached for any television programme as I am busy with my upcoming Bollywood projects," said she.
Ameesha, who has shared screen space with major heroes like Hrithik Roshan and Salman Khan, is yet to establish herself in the industry in spite of being part of two record breaking movies - "Kaho Naa..
. Pyaar Hai" and "Gadar-Ek Prem Katha" with Sunny Deol.
After her brother Asmit featured in the reality TV show "Bigg Boss", there has been speculation of producers approaching her. "Yes, there are such rumors but let me make it very clear, I have not been approached for any TV show whatsoever.

(less)What keeps Rajinikanth busy?
So what's keeping the superstar busy these days? Just like another superstar and good friend Amitabh Bachchan who is on grandfather duty, so is Rajinikanth. His elder daughter Aishwarya Dhanush is busy on the sets directing her first movie 3 , while the Thalaivar enjoys spending time with her two sons, Yatra and Linga.
She is married to National Award winning actor Dhanush, also the star of her film. Dhanush also sings the Tanglish song Why This Kolaveri Di in the film.
"In fact he's right now my official babysitter. I just give my kids and say Yatra and Linga now its your time and he takes care.

(less)I know I am sexy: Ameesha Patel
. does it make you feel superior to others? I know I am sexy.
But being sexy is all about attitude, not body type. It's a state of mind.
To me, an intelligent girl with a positive attitude and a great smile is sexy..
. and she could well be wearing a salwar-kameez.
In our profession, sometimes being overtly sexy can be a handicap. You don't really know if the men are just looking at you as a sex kitten or actually paying attention to you.
But yes, I am glad I can carry off a sensuous avatar on screen. I work on my body to stay fit, but that does not make me superior to anyone.
I am a forthright and hardworking girl. Your Miss-Goody-Two-Shoes image has withered.
The whip is now in your hands..
. I have struggled a lot and put in tremendous amounts of hard work to reach this phase in my life.
Believe me, it's not easy being an actress and a producer, especially with no big daddy to support you. I love the fact that I am not arriving on someone else's sets.
I have a say on when the camera will roll and what it will shoot. I am proud that I did not succumb to industry pressures or bend my morals.
You have bagged a steamy role in " Race 2 ". Age doesn't seem to be catching up.
Yes, I will be seen in "Race 2" soon. As for my looks, my friends keep telling me that with every new candle added on my birthday cake, I regress in age.
I think it's the effects of positivity within me. I eat healthy, I don't smoke and follow a good exercise regime.
I have always been my grandmother's pet child. She passed away at 92 but didn't look a day over 60.
Looking back, you went underground post "Kaho Na Pyaar Hai" and "Gadar". Do you regret losing out on meaty roles in the years since? I never really went without action.
"Kaho Na..
." and "Gadar" have been top grossers in the Hindi film industry.
I played Saif Ali Khan's love interest in "Thoda Pyaar Thoda Magic" (remember "Lazy Lamhe"), and "Bhool Bhulaiyaa" was a hit too. I was approached for "Billu" but the role finally went to Lara Dutta.
Priyadarshan felt I looked too young to play a mother to two kids. If you could turn back time, what would you erase from the past? Honestly, I would erase nothing.
Life is all about evolution. What looks like a mistake to others has been a milestone in my life.
Even if people have betrayed me, even if my heart was broken, even if people misunderstood or judged me, I have learned from these incidents. We are human and we make mistakes, but learning from them is what makes the difference.
I have learned to live my life from my grandmother. Her fire and grit showed me the way ahead.
Not too long ago, Bipasha Basu and you wore the same dress at a red carpet event. How did you take that? I had got this dress specially made by my friend and designer Ramona Narang Rodella.
The mix up wasn't her fault. Apparently, some junior assistant gave away the same dress in a different colour for a film with Bipasha, but she decided to wear it on the red carpet.
No actress wants to be in a situation like this obviously, and people went a little crazy writing about it, but Bips and I laughed it off. I am over that incident.
Your sartorial preference is known to be sexy..
. I have had a fabulous upbringing.
My family lived in Mumbai and London , and we travelled all the time. The exposure really boosted my confidence and dressing style.
I am not a fashion victim. I pick what I feel comfortable in.
I love shoes and handbags. In fact, I have an enviable collection.
I love dressing up. I know what suits me and looking sexy is a compliment.
Dressing up and looking good is effortless for me. How do you keep in shape and take care of your long tresses and skin? I eat healthy, work out and sleep well.
I don't go overboard and do not abuse my body. I use besan on my skin, oil my hair and use raw eggs as a pack.
I also like to hit the spa when I can. I go for facials and massages too.
Anyone you fall back on during bad times? I have a set of 10-15 rock solid friends. I laugh with them, cry with them and often seek their advice.
I can count on them always. My business partner Kuunal Goomer is my best friend.
We share the same tastes in music, fashion and films. And finally, when my production house Ameesha Patel Productions happened, we became a natural team.
What kind of space are you in right now? I am a child, but I am sorted. I know my priorities and values.
I stay happy by doing things my way. I celebrate my birthday with a lot of excitement, like a child.

sending out invitations six months in advance! I enjoy the whole drama of cutting a cake, singing songs, dancing and then unwrapping presents. It's the fun element in our lives that keeps us going.
I have decided to make films that can entertain the entire family. It's time to bring back the 'Fun Day' concept.
And you know what, I will damn well do it!

(less)It will be incomplete without Sanju: Ameesha
Q: You have opened the production house Ameesha Patel Production with your best friend, Kuunal Goomer. Is it a good idea to mix business with friendship? Ameesha: While I was apprehensive about starting my business ventures with my other friends, with Kuunal I knew it would only grow into something better.
After God if I trust someone it is Kuunal. It was his dream to start this production house.
He felt that I was wasting my education and I needed to do more with myself. Q: Both the directors you have signed Priyadarshan and David Dhawan didn't have a good run at the box office, recently.
Ameesha: But they have also given 40 hits. We are honoured to have them on board.
Being in this industry for 12 years, I have gone though the valleys and the peaks and seen the cyclical changes. When Amitabh Bachchan and Shah Rukh Khan can be written off, who are we? Therefore, we don't judge anyone from their last hits and flops.
Q: Will you act in all your home ventures? Ameesha: Yes, because I am young, pretty and a good actress. But our doors are open to all the talented actors.
I am also working in movies outside my home production like Race 2, Shortcut Romeo, Bhaiyyaji Superhit with Sunny Deol. Q: Will your good friend Sanjay Dutt act in your film? Ameesha: My production house would be incomplete if Sanju was not part of it.
Even if he is not on the mind of any director, we will make sure that there is a special role written for him. Q: How do you react to your detractors who say that Ameesha has opened her production house because no one else is giving her work? Q: Is it easier to go get work or to get hundred crore to fund yourself? Q: You think you got your due as an actor? Ameesha: Not at all but I will get it now.
Q: What went wrong? Ameesha: I did not have brains and circumstances did not allow me to take my career in the right direction. I was not a filmy kid and I came around the time when all the star kids including Kareena and Hrithik were being launched.
I had to crawl while they were already running. I am still from outside and I don't have a godfather.
I did not even have a filmy boyfriend to push me for roles. No Salman was my boyfriend, no Akshay Kumar, none of them.
Even Kuunal is from the non-filmy background. Q: Who is your Prince Charming? Ameesha: After some terrible mistakes I am still waiting for my Prince Charming.
I have never changed men to suit my career. I am a sucker for love.
Q: Will you be able to convince your friends like Hrithik and Shah Rukh who are very busy to work in your films? Ameesha: So many producers want David Dhawan and Priyadarshan but we managed to rope them. Likewise if we have a role for Hrithik or Shah Rukh we are confident enough to get them.

(less)Yuvraj seeing Salman's sis Arpita?
The two new friends in Bollywood were spotted having a good time at a Delhi five star recently. A source informed Mumbai Mirror, "Yuvraj and Arpita were seen together at a five star hotel in Chanakyapuri, New Delhi on Sunday evening.
The hotel has a new club, which opened recently. Yuvraj and Arpita spent a lot of time in the club that day.
They were not accompanied by others." Following the tradition of linkups between cricketers and actresses, Yuvraj Singh had once dated Kim Sharma.
Subsequently, he was linked up with Deepika Padukone, model Aanchal Kumar , Ameesha Patel and Neha Dhupia. It seemed only logical that he would hence buy a house in Mumbai.
After settling in the city of the film stars in 2009, Yuvraj became quite close to the Khans. His presence at every Khan family function or private screening made for a great photo-op for most shutterbugs in the city.
A blossoming friendship between Yuvraj and the little daughter of the Khan family became inevitable. A very close friend of Arpita told us, "Arpita knows Yuvraj for some time now.
They are very close friends. Yes, they were together at the five star hotel in south Delhi on Sunday.
They were there for quite sometime, actually." When asked whether the friendship was platonic, Arpita's friend, raising her voice, retorted, "Big deal! Can't two friends go out together to have a meal?" Arpita, who seems to have found a dear friend in the cricketer, was earlier linked up with Boney and Mona Kapoor's son Arjun.
The cricketer, when contacted, however chose to deny having ever gone to the said hotel with Arpita. "This is absolutely baseless and I request everyone to stop spreading rumours about me.
Arpita is a friend and I know her for many years now. As a matter of fact, I wasn't at the hotel at all lately.
There is not an iota of truth in what you are trying to write," said Yuvraj Singh. Arpita remained unavailable for comment
(less)Vidya raises the heat for The Dirty Picture
She, however, did not complain and continued shooting with co-actor Naseerudin Shah. Says a source, "The song was being shot in a lotus pond and it was on a tight schedule.
Filming had to be wrapped up within two to three days, as those were the only dates available. It required Vidya to stay in the pond for over four to five hours during the sequence.
" Adds the source, "Vidya started feeling ill on the first day itself as she was in water for so long. She developed high fever.
Though director Milan Luthria asked his leading lady to take a breather, she was keen that the shoot continue." If shooting was stalled, the per day losses would have been huge for the producers and it would have also affected the crew who had been specially flown from Mumbai.
As a result Vidya did not want the filming to be affected. During the Karnataka schedule, director Milan Luthria had challenged Vidya to address the gathered crowd dressed as Silk Smitha.
Unabashedly she walked up to the all-male onlookers and spoke to them like her character would. Says a source, "Milan had a bet with Vidya that she would never be able to address the crowd without feeling awkward, but he lost the bet.
" After the incident Milan thinks twice and warns the unit too, about placing bets with Balan. Tweet
(less)Ameesha, Sunny reunite after 10 years
And now, Mumbai Mirror has learnt that producer Fauzia Arshi and director Neeraj Pathak are keen on cashing in on the dynamic duo in their action thriller Bhaiyyaji Superhit, under the Daily Multimedia banner. A friend close to the director revealed that the male leads in the film were confirmed, but finding a female lead proved to be a major challenge.
Pathak's friend explained how the decision to cast Ameesha opposite Sunny came about, saying, "Sunny, Arshad and Tusshar were brought on-board some time ago. But, Fauzia and Neeraj spent a lot of time deliberating about which actress to approach to essay the female lead in the film.
It then occurred to them that Sunny and Ameesha were an outstanding on-screen couple in Gadar: Ek Prem Katha. Also, she seemed like the apt choice for the character.
" When contacted, Arshi confirmed the news, "We had to start shooting in January. We had finalised the entire cast with Sunny, Arshad and Tusshar, but we could not finalise the female lead.
We brainstormed a lot of options. When Ameesha's name came up, everyone loved the idea of having her on-board.
And so, she will start shooting for Bhaiyyaji Superhit in the first week of January."

(less)Ameesha Patel to play a prostitute
BT came to know that the film is to be picturised in Prague , Paris and David wants Ameesha to spend at least 15 days to imbibe the energy of Parisians and understand their way of life. Ameesha also confirmed the news saying, "It's a first for me.
And yes, I am really excited to test the waters by playing the role of a high-profile Indian prostitute in Paris.' The film is being produced by Ameesha Patel Productions.
Her business partner Kuunal Goomer adds, "Davidji is in Goa currently shooting for Chashmebaddoor and also preparing for his son's wedding there. Once done, we are geared to roll by April.
The film is a romantic thriller with good comedy and suspense as well. We will shoot Ameesha with real Parisian hookers on the streets there.
The effect will be magical." David feels that this will be Ameesha's best role till date.
Since, she can carry off versatile looks, this time around, the prostitute's look is going to be slick, just like the real life prostitutes there. Meanwhile, the actress has just got back from Bangkok after taking a much-deserved New Year's break with Kuunal, his wife Shamble and friends.
She's working on Shortcut Romeo opposite Neil Nitin Mukesh , second schedule of Race 2, which is to start soon. Bhaiyyaji Superhit with Sunny Deol is starting soon
(less)Hrithik is a very busy man: Salman Khan
And link-ups. Salman Khan has braved them all over the years.
In a relaxed chat with Mumbai Mirror, the dabangg man puts everything straight. Finally.
December 27, 2011. Farhan Akhtar attended your birthday bash in Panvel.
So, is there a film in the offing? Just because he attends my party, it doesn't mean that I have to do a film with him. You have to remember that I know Farhan since he was a kid.
Thikh hai Farhan is Javed Sahab's son..
. and I would take Farhan with me on my bicycle.
So I know him since that age. He did offer you many films in the past.
..
Yeah..
. So? Ok.
So let's talk about Sanjay Dutt . He is a very shy person.
..
How did you..
.(he interrupts) Haan, he is very shy.
Baba is really shy. (Sanjay, who is sitting across Salman and talking to another journalist turns around and asks, "What happened?" Salman answers, "They are saying Baba is shy.
" To this Sanjay nods and says, "Yes, very shy." And the two burst out laughing.
) He doesn't talk much in public, we meant. Yes, he doesn't want to talk.
He isn't shy with the people he has grown up with. But he gets very shy with compliments.
Especially, if it is coming from a girl. So was it difficult convincing him to host Bigg Boss where he had to interact with a lot of people? Till the last moment we weren't sure whether he was going to do it.
Every time he would say, 'Yaar, what is this? Where am I? What am I doing?'. But once he rehearsed for it and knew what the format was, he opened up.
Sanjay is the funniest guy I have ever known. His sense of humour is amazing.
Plus, he has got this connect with people. Knowing him for so many years must've helped you co-host the show.
Yeah. I think we have known each other since.
..
1990?..
.(He turns to the side and asks, "Baba, how long have we known each other? I must have been 15 - 16 na?" A surprised Sanjay thinks about it and replies, "Not 15.
14.") Yeah.
So I was 14 and Baba was 17. Apart from your friendships, there are a lot of stories about your fights within the industry as well.
..
With whom? The latest being Hrithik..
. What is your equation with him today? Hrithik? See, I bump into him once in a while.
He is a very busy man. I am very busy too.
When he wasn't all that busy, he used to spend a lot of time with me. And I would rather have him spend time away from me with his films becoming huge hits, than him spending all his time with me in the gym and his films being flops.
You are known for being a true friend. You make an effort to get back your friends.
Like Himesh..
.you guys patched up and then Bodyguard happened.
..
It's not like I am having an affair with these guys. They are those friends who you are comfortable with while working with them.
When you are not working with them, they move away. And then you work again because there is a special relationship that you share.
Coming to Bigg Boss 5, do you think that the contestants have behaved too irresponsibly? I think that they shout without any reason just to get that extra footage (pauses). Unko lagta hai ki cheekhne chillane se kaam ban jaayega.
People like Rakhi Sawant and Dolly Bindra think that if they do these kind of things, they would win. But none of them have won.
Rahul (Roy) and Shweta (Tiwari) have won because they weren't like that. This year, you did what no other host has ever done.
You went in the house gave the inmates a piece of your mind..
. I had to do it.
I had to tell them what the country is feeling. Helen aunty watches the show and she didn't like it.
Everybody..
. my family, my friends asked me what was going on in the house.
They hated it. Outside Bigg Boss there is a bigger house.
If need be, main agle season mein bhi yeh karunga. Moving on.
..
Over the years, you've been linked with many women..
. (Interrupts) There are lots of them.
But all such rumours have stopped. You think you have become more cautious Has it stopped? (looks in disbelief) Really? (Looks at his manager.
Manager says, "Well, a journalist is claiming so." Both start laughing.
Then Salman looks at Sanjay, who is again caught off guard, and asks, "Baba, all these years of linkups, of late it has stopped..
.is it true?" Now even Sanjay joins in the laughter fest.
) I better do something now (Adds looking rather serious)
(less)I am back: Sonal Chauhan
"Actually I was busy with my studies so better chose to concentrate on my studies rather than hopping from one set to another one and hampering my studies," replied Sonal, student of philosophy. But now she is back and that too with a bang.
"I recently did Bbuddah Hoga Tera Baap with Big B. And all I can say is I am lucky to get a chance to work with Bachchanji at such an early stage of my career.
I have few good projects, but I am not supposed to talk about them. It will be too early.
But definitely I have something good in my hands," assures Sonal. Dressed up in a beautiful peacock style Kurta and churidaar, Sonal did not forget to flaunt heavy polki diamond necklace which captured everybody's attention.
So she too loves Jaipuri jewellery ? "Who would not love a finest piece of jewellery? At least there would be no girl in this universe who would like to hide her love for jewellery. So am I," says actor Sonal Chauhan
(less)Possessive Saif takes offense to Bebo kissing Sylvester Stallone | Bollywood News and Gossip
Saif had been on the sets for many days and all was well till July 18, Sly’s first day on the set. Kareena, was like an excited school girl around him, which irritated Saif .
Bebo and Sly were to shoot for a scene where he saves her from a dangerous situation. After the rescue, Kareena threw her arms around Sly and kissed him smack on the cheek.
It is not clear if the kiss was part of the scene but it didn’t go down well with Saif. After the scene, an upset Saif who had seen the scene on the monitor was seen talking seriously to Kareena.
Saif took Kareena into a corner. She was overheard telling him that she simply did what was asked of her.
She also told Saif that she’d never complain if he did a kissing scene with his leading lady. At one point, she got irritated and snapped that he shouldn’t come on her sets if he couldn’t deal with her intimate scenes with other heroes.
They continued to argue till Saif walked out in a huff. But the much-in-love couple patched up soon afterwards.
Kareena’s best friend Amrita Arora who was on the sets that day was one of the witnesses to the Saif-Kareena fight. She was seen calming down Bebo after Saif stomped out.
By evening, the lovers patched up and Bebo was seen whispering sweet nothings into Saif’s ear at dinner. Kareena and Sajid remained unavailable for comment.
Stallone got along especially well with Akshay. They would spend hours discussing athletic workouts and diets.
Stallone seemed very impressed with Akshay and the fact that he had such a strong body without picking up any weights. Stallone’s diet consists of his food including proteins like tuna fish and Indian kebabs.

(less)I date straight men: Bobby Darling
The cops alleged that the organizers didn't have the required permissions. Says Bobby, "Agar normal party hoti and if I were caught with a straight man, I would not deny it because I'm a girl.
But I was called to this party on the pretext of being 'the celebrity attraction'. I had no clue it was a gay party.
I do not go to gay parties. I do support gays, but I have a soft corner for transgenders.
I am not gay. I am a girl and have always considered myself to be one.
In fact, all my relationships have been with men. My last relationship was with cricketer Munaf Patel.
The organiser of this party is a friend of mine. He is married and has a wife and two kids.
I will not mention his name because he has not come out with his sexuality yet," says Bobby. She believes that the people who blew the lid on the party and called the police are probably those who did not get entry, or maybe the neighbours had a problem with the music.
"I think it must be the neighbours or the people who were denied entry who complained. I was at the party, there were music and drinks, and I got a phone call.
When I went out into the lawn to take the call, I saw the police entering. They came in and asked me, 'Aap yahaan kya kar rahe ho?' They told me I'd have to cooperate and like a good citizen, I did.
I went to the Oshiwara police station and signed some papers, answered some questions and then left," she says. no indecent behaviour According to DK Rupwate , senior inspector at Oshiwara police station, Mumbai, where the revellers were taken after the raid, male guests were found behaving indecently at the party and there was no prior permission to host it or serve liquor.
Bobby denies any such reports. "There was no indecent behaviour.
There were people from the LGBT community and drag queens, but it was like a regular party. There were drinks and dancing, like at any party.
I didn't know there was no permission for the party or the alcohol," she says. She adds, "I charge money for parties, yes.
It is part of my profession. I usually go for parties where my name is used to attract people.
But I would never go for a gay party. I am a girl, after all, and have always considered myself to be one.
I was paid for this party too and I believe there were invites that were sent out. People must have come because my name was on the guestlist, but I was completely unaware that this is what I was getting into.

(less)Sonam Kapoor in Mani Ratnam’s next film
Mumbai Mirror has learnt that the actress has been approached by the filmmaker for his next Tamil project. Initially, Ratnam was to direct a Hindi film with Abhishek and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan , but since the couple recently became parents, the director had to put the project on the back burner.
Sonam's friend revealed to us that initially the actress was skeptical about working in a regional film. "Sonam's dad convinced her to do the film, since Anil himself had started his career with a Telugu film.
She will be required to learn enough of the language to understand her dialogue, however, her lines will ultimately be dubbed," explained Sonam's friend. Apparently, the romantic film is not only a first for Sonam.
Reportedly, the project will launch the career of Tamil actor Karthik's son Gautham. When we asked Sonam about her decision to star in a regional project, the actress said, "We (the Hindi film industry) are always remaking regional movies.
I would rather be a part of the original. I wouldn't like to comment on working with Mani sir.
But yes, I would love to do something amazing, after Players. However, nothing is confirmed yet.

I wish it (acknowledgement for contribution to Red Chillies success) was sooner," Juhi said in an interview. "The other day I was coming from (ace fashion photographer) Gautam's condolence meet .

He's right now answering all the hundred thousand questions Yatra asks him and they are best buddies. He's enjoying his grandfatherhood," says Aishwarya.
Aishwarya has some good news for millions of the superstar's fans. "I wouldn't know when he's going to resume acting.

(less)I will romance two Sunnys: Ameesha Patel
They are acting together in Bhaiyyaji Superhit. Says the excited actress, "What's striking is that I will romance not one but two Sunnys, as he is playing a double role.
It's a first for him and for me too. Sunny's comic timing is excellent, and the audiences loved him in Yamla Pagla Deewana.
This film captures his comic side again." Ameesha plays a glamorous diva in the film, who is being pursued by three men - Arshad Warsi, Tusshar Kapoor and Prakash Raj.
Apart from the pairing with Sunny, Ameesha's plate is full with work pouring in from other banners. Her own home production with business partner Kuunal Goomer is moving ahead full swing.
"Shortcut Romeo with Neil Nitin Mukesh will be a surprise for the audience. And David Dhawan, who is directing our first film, has a superb script in place.
Looking at the success of The Dirty Picture, we have zeroed in on a heroine-centric concept that is super spicy. Priyadarshan too will make an announcement soon about the next film from our banner," she says.
The actress is looking forward to the coming year. She adds, "I have six releases in 2012.
I am so excited that I just can't wait for the new year to set in." Co-produced by Sunny Deol's banner Vijayta Films and directed by Neerraj Pathak, the film goes on floors in January 2012
(less)Ameesha Patel in Race 2
The cast will also include Deepika Padukone, John Abraham, Sonakshi Sinha and Anil Kapoor. She tells us more.
..
How does it feel to be part of a successful franchise like "Race"? It feels phenomenal. It's a great feeling.
"Race 2" is a big film to be associated with. This year has been amazing for me, from turning producer to going back to working with Abbas-Mustan.
I am also thrilled to be working with Saif after "Thoda Pyaar Thoda Magic". The sequel is steamier, racier, and with more twists and turns.
How did this role come to you? I've worked with Abbas-Mustan and Ramesh Taurani before. Since I have a great working relationship with the entire team, it was something that I accepted in a heartbeat.
Tell us about your character. I play a super sexy, glamorous girl.
I can't reveal much, but this is definitely one of the most exciting roles I have done. How are you preparing for it? Luckily, I have been in great shape, but I plan to continue working out and don't want to compromise on my fitness.
I will follow the director's vision and adhere to the kind of look they want from me. I also have a strict diet with my workout schedule.
You are sharing screen with Deepika Padukone and Sonakshi Sinha. Will there be friction on the sets? Not at all.
We get along like a house on fire. I am very friendly with Sonakshi as I have met her at Salman's place a couple of times.
Deepika is someone I am looking forward to work with. We will have a great time and it is a superb star cast.
I will be sharing most of my scenes with the girls, so there is a lot of anticipation and excitement. Are you apprehensive about having to wear skimpy outfits? Not at all.
I fully trust Abbas-Mustan. We have worked together in the past, so I have full faith in them.
Even during "Thoda Pyaar Thoda Magic", I was thrilled with the response I got to the "Lazy Lamhe" song. I don't have any inhibitions for the role.
What is happening on your production front? There's a lot happening. There are projects planned with David Dhawan and Priyadarshan.
Also, Kunal (Goomer) has been a great support with his amazing business sense. He's a trustworthy partner and we have some amazing things lined up
(less)Excerpts from Yaana Gupta's new book, How To Love Your Body
Don't we all watch those good-looking people on TV and think, look how skinny that girl is! Or check out that guy's abs. Some people are just lucky to have a figure like that, aren't they? Well I agree that some of us are born lucky.
They have a faster metabolism and don't put on weight as easily as others. But I am not one of them.
I love food and can gain weight pretty easily. Yet I have a career in the glamour industry, which means that I have to look good every single day.
Let me tell you this is hard work. I have to constantly watch myself and I need to exercise regularly.
Otherwise I'd be out of a job. I was aware of this from the very beginning of my career as even Renata used to tell us that we needed to start watching what we ate so we din't gain any weight.
To me it was simple maths: more food=less job. So I started getting conscious about what I ate and how my body looked and inevitably compared myself with models on TV, from the time Dita got me into it by showing me magazines and introducing the fashion world to me.
I would admire their bodies, and wish I could be skinnier even though I definitely didn't need to lose any weight then. I didn't know then that there is a big difference between being skinny and being fit.
For me these were the top models of the world and, if I wanted to become one of them, I needed to look exactly as they did. So instead of being a happy sixteen-year-old who lives a fun teenage life, worrying about boys and what to wear to a Friday night party, I started developing a fear of becoming fat.
I began to monitor everything I ate (I conned myself into calling it 'being professional'). I would forbid myself from eating anything that looked sinful (even though for others that may be just a normal meal).
For example if I ate a plate of pasta, I felt instantly fat. Or even just things like dumplings, which were part of every other traditional Czech meal, I was afraid to eat as I thought I could gain weight.
Soon I started considering almost all normal food fattening unless it was steamed or cooked in water. So while my friends had a normal meal for lunch after school, I ordered a salad with a low-fat dressing on the side and made sure I ate only half of it.
Of course I stared at my friends' plates wishing I could eat their food instead, but whenever such a thought crossed my mind, I would just tell myself: 'Hey! You are the one who is a model here, who gets to travel and earn money while all your friends are penniless! So some sacrifice is okay for being the lucky one here, don't you think? So keep quiet and eat your salad!' By the time my friends were done eating I would still be hungry though. I was used to having my stomach half empty and in a way I liked feeling light as it made me feel skinny but the appetite was a problem.
Luckily there was a solution to this problem, a way to kill the taste buds: a cigarette. Or even better, a cigarette and coffee.
Smoking at sixteen was not that abnormal really, many teenagers do it. I started having a cigarette with coffee after meals even though I didn't even like the taste in the beginning, but well, you get used to it.
I never really thought it was a cool thing to do. No doubt it was stupid.
But for me the cigarette was just something that I was allowed to have as it had no calories. It was something I could have when I couldn't have food.
I wouldn't smoke that much, maybe two, three a day but it was like my comfort food. And it did the trick.
Whenever I felt like eating something I shouldn't, I just had a smoke and the desire would vanish. I could do without sweets really but I did crave the traditional Czech foods my friends would eat at the pub.
One of my favourites was duck with dumplings and cabbage, a typical dish we ate growing up. But when I started modelling, what do you think happened to my beloved duck? It got blacklisted.
As did many other foods. Any kind of fattening meat, bread, white rice, potatoes, all cheese, pizza (of course!), dumplings, fruit that was cooked, sugar (not even one teaspoon in tea), cream (oh keep on dreaming!), normal milk (low fat was allowed as long as it was just in coffee, not a full glass of course), oh yeah and pasta (any kind that is).
I don't think I need to mention that any kind of sweet was out of the question. So much so that I began to fear my own birthday because I knew I would want to eat the cake but I couldn't.
The only sweet thing I was allowed was fruit (as long as it was fresh, because preserved fruit has sugar in it) and also a bit of dried fruits and honey at times. Fruit juices were also forbidden as they are too concentrated in sugars and calories.
So what did I actually eat you may ask, right? Well, I ate a lot, don't worry! A lot of vegetables, that is. Big salads with low-fat dressing, some tuna in it here and there (tuna in a can preserved in water and not oil, mind you) and egg whites, the yellow carefully taken out, or steamed vegetables and vegetable soups.
I would also have brown rice or a piece of low-fat rice cracker with it or something like that. Anything that said low calorie and fat free on the cover was good so I'd often spend hours in the shop studying all the food labels.
One thing is for sure, I would never ever have bread under any circumstances. Bread was the biggest evil of all (and I am obsessed with bread by the way).
The amazing thing is that while most people would totally freak out if they were given such a diet, I actually learned to enjoy eating veggies. And luckily my most favourite food since childhood is the apple.
Not even the duck beats it. But of course I hated not being able to eat like normal people.
I thought it was unfair and too big a sacrifice. But then again, I told myself that it was I who chose this, and I better accept it and stop complaining.
My friends and boyfriends all rather admired the way I ate--it looked healthy from the outside because it's not that I would not eat at all in front of them. I would just eat veggies and not the yummy-looking, sinful foods they would eat.
They admired me for having such a strong will and saying no to temptation, yet, at the same time, none of them wanted to be in my place. And even though I looked skinny, I never looked bulimic skinny, so no one really considered me unhealthy.
And at home, they just respected that I did this job and therefore had to eat the way I did, so no one would force me into eating anything particular. I tried keeping my mind busy just so I didn't think of food.
But at night I couldn't escape my longings. In my dreams I would be eating chocolate cakes, pizza with double cheese or my darling duck.
Inevitably fear would overwhelm me, a fear that I was growing fat. I can't tell you what a relief it was to wake up.
A few months into modelling, the extreme of non-eating brought on the other extreme as well--overeating. After school, I would head home skipping the school canteen lunch (I thought it was too fattening), planning to cook some veggies with brown rice at home instead.
But on the way, passing by a big supermarket, I would go inside and buy myself an apple or a pear. Sometimes a friend would come with me and pick up some junk food such as my favourite Prince biscuits.
Of course they would share it with me and I couldn't say no. Now it wouldn't be a big deal if I just had one or two or even three biscuits.
But once I started, I couldn't stop, because it felt like a unique opportunity that wouldn't happen again. Just like if you were to give a drink to an alcoholic who's been trying real hard to abstain.
I just had to finish the entire packet! I would of course feel unhappy once I had finished the whole pack. Actually no, I began feeling unhappy as I ate it, the guilt and fear growing inside me with every biscuit I ate.
It was more of a need and it didn't feel positive. Looking back I think I was just angry.
Angry that I couldn't be like others and eat normally, angry that if I did eat I wasn't disciplined enough. 'It's okay,' I told myself upon finishing it.
'Tomorrow I'll start my diet again and eat only fruits the whole day, no other food! It will be like a fast and I'm sure that will help me lose what I have gained. But now since I have already sinned--which meant in my head that the day was already 'spoiled'--let me have something more to enjoy myself.
' And then I'd go back to the supermarket and buy a few more things like a candy bar (or two different ones as I couldn't decide which one I wanted more and didn't want to end up feeling disappointed choosing the wrong one as this was a 'unique opportunity'), some pastry or a sandwich, simply anything with bread, and maybe even a piece of pizza. I'd start eating it right away, not even waiting to get home and I'd finish it all at breakneck speed.
I'd feel really stuffed afterwards and the feeling of guilt would get worse by the minute. I'd promise myself I would never do this again, and I'd go on a proper diet from tomorrow.
The next day, I'd feel bloated and puffed up, especially on my face and around the belly. To me this was the fat I had gained, but in fact (as I learned later) it was water retention as the body tries to deal with the acidity from eating all that sugar and junk by retaining water to dilute it.
And as I promised myself but probably also to punish myself--I did eat only fruits and vegetable salads the next day so I'd lose the extra half kilo. I didn't love myself for sure.
And this was just the beginning of this cycle--extreme discipline (and as I was to discover later, unhealthily so), then bingeing. How long can you go on eating vegetables and fruits, tell me? How long can you keep saying no whenever someone offers you a piece of something sweet? I had no idea then that I had an eating disorder.
I didn't even know what an eating disorder was or that it was considered an actual problem. In the beginning, the 'symptoms' were not as extreme either.
I'd binge only now and then (perhaps once in two weeks) and otherwise I'd stick to my extreme diet. I was naturally skinny at the time anyway so the fear of gaining weight wasn't as big initially, which meant the pressure wasn't as much.
I was also very excited to be a model so the happiness kind of kept me above the water, as it was filling up my empty stomach." What I eat "Let me give you an example of what I eat during the day.
Upon waking up I drink two glasses of warm water with some lemon in it. Then I have some green tea and usually munch on an apple, while I take a few supplements such as a probiotic and multivitamin.
I exercise soon after, which is why I don't eat anything big right away; however, I do make sure I eat something. If I get delayed, as I often read in the morning and get carried away, and feel hungry before I exercise, I might have a bit of plain yoghurt (just a small cup) with some honey and half a teaspoon of hemp or flax oil.
(I love the taste of yoghurt with hemp oil!) Alternatively I may eat another piece of apple or some other fruit and have a few almonds with it that I soaked the previous night. Then I exercise, which generally takes me half an hour (if I do my bodyweight killer routine) or up to an hour (if I do my lazy routine that consists of cycling on my home-use bike, dancing, playing with the hula-hoop and some stretches).
After I'm done exercising I have breakfast (well, breakfast number two in a way) which is usually a bowl of porridge with a bit of Stevia or honey in it. I like it simple and plain like this but if I am travelling and staying in a hotel I might order brown bread toast and an egg-white omelette (made of two egg whites) and some steamed veggies.
I often travel carrying a few things with me (brown rice, olive oil, almonds, green tea, honey) so if they bring the omelette prepared as I asked them (with as minimum oil as possible), I will also have a few almonds to get the good fat. I soak a few almonds every night and then eat them the next day.
When I next get hungry (which will be about three hours later or less), I have some baked or grilled fish with brown rice and some salad. For my next meal I may either have the same thing (I really enjoy it and I'm a lazy cook--I just throw everything into the steamer) or if I'm travelling maybe I'll have some dal and rice and veggies.
The thing is, what I generally do is split the meal into two portions and have the second portion as my next meal. So if I am at home, I will just steam vegetables (zucchini, broccoli, carrot, mushroom, baby corn), make the rice in a rice cooker and steam the fish.
I love my steaming system. It takes no time and it's yummy.

(less)Shahana Goswami loves photography
I'm a sucker for memories and the manner in which the camera helps you possess every single memory you make in its presence is just amazing. In fact I've recently purchased a D-SLR camera and I've gone on an absolute clicking spree.
This has got to be my most exciting gadget buy till date. I took my time researching the right one and also asked around among my photographer friends.
I'm very satisfied with my buy. Incidentally, the first gadget that I was ever given was a kaleidoscope.
The plastic clicking gadget that changed the colours and texture of everything that you saw through its viewfinder kept me mesmerised for ages. I spent hours gazing through it and loved how my world looked through it.
Anyways as all things, I lost it somewhere down the years. On my list As a kid you always want a lot of things so right from cameras to video recorders to the television, I've been fascinated with and addicted to most gadgets.
But the one gadget I really wanted as a kid was the computer and when I finally did get one, I immediately sat down to pore through it and within days was very well acquainted with it. Now my focus is on things quite different.
And what tops the list is a Jet-Ski or a Quad Bike. I'm not sure if they qualify as gadgets but machines, I guess.
I'm quite the outdoors girl and owning one of these or both machines would put that added spin into my life. Wish it comes true Well, it's got something to do with cameras and pictures again.
I want a camera from Harry Potter's world that would make the people and places in my pictures move too. It would be great to have yourself, your friends and family wave back at you from a still photograph - especially those people who are far away and the ones you don't get to meet regularly.
Guide to e-ndulgence It's usually through the newspaper and my friends and family. If I see someone with a new gadget, I like to find out more about it and inevitably find myself wanting to procure it if it catches my fancy.
That's exactly how I bought my Blackberry and my Macbook. Next on the wishlist is the iPad I guess.
Let's just see when I get around to buying that
(less)My wife thinks I’m too simple: Shiney Ahuja
" About his link-up with Sayali Bhagat, he says, "I have learnt one thing in my acting career, that when you start getting famous you need to take care of success and fame.
" We hear that Shiney has been approached by Anurag Basu, to do a cameo role in his next movie "Barfee".
