Azim looks up to Salman, SRK and Aamir Khan
To make his character in "Qasam Se Qasam Se" appear realistic, Azim frequented call centre offices to absorb the finer nuances of the people working there. "It was quite a relevation for me as an actor.
I witnessed not only people's mannerisms but also the activities they indulge in during the break hour. Looking into the mirror, some guys would be busy ruffling their hair and taking care of their looks, while some would busy binging.
And there would others catching up with family and friends over their cell phones. This has helped shaped my character in the film.
" Azim feels that all our veteran actors were keen observers and would translate that on screen. "Whether it were the legendary actors like Dilip Kumar or the late Raj Kapoor or Dev Anand , they were schools in themselves.
I am a great fan of Salman Khan , Shah Rukh Khan and Aamir Khan and look at them as a student who looks upon his guru. I am mastering the art of acting watching their films," he smiles

(less)I never thought I'd be a desirable woman: Sameera Reddy
"My name in the list means a lot to me. As as a young girl, I never thought even in my wildest dreams that I would become a desirable woman.
I yearned for a perfect body as I was ugly duckling in school. But now that I have entered films, I believe that beauty is hidden in the imperfections of people and it all depends on how you use them.
That's my definition of desirable and I am glad to have made it to the list," says Sameera. The actor is basking in the success of her last Tamil release opposite Madhavan and has Padma Shri Priyadarshan's Tezz to look forward to.
Sameera has now decided that she will do a mix of performance-oriented and glamorous characters on screen, something that Simran and Jyothika did in Kollywood. So is the report true that Sameera wants to become the next Simran and Jyothika? "You cannot become another person.

(less)Sherlyn Chopra likes being unconventional
Be it politics, cinema, sports, business or any other arena, women across the globe including India are in great form mentally, physically and consciously to undertake greater responsibilities and tougher challenges that are often encountered on paths less travelled." Sherlyn is also happy that she has gone from being just a pin-up girl to an entrepreneur.
Says she, "The rapid metamorphosis in my case would not have been possible had the mindsets of the majority of the people in the Hindi film industry continued to be goverened by prejudices. I look upto entrepreneurs who command respect and attention for daring to think out of the box and act accordingly.
They do not have a herd mentality. What they have is unadulterated creativity which is set on fire by courage.
" Naming films like " The Dirty Picture ", " Erin Brokovich ", " No One Killed Jessica "," The Black Swan " as cinema that has changed the way we think, Sherlyn says, "Unconventionality is no longer a taboo. It is being applauded and celebrated by both the classes and the masses.
The pulse of the youth is racing towards liberalisation. And I'm truly loving it.
" Asked why she decided to give us photographs that resembled those of the " Jism 2 " campaign, the actor quips, "I have pushed the envelope by choosing to cover my nakedness with nothing but pure consciousness."

"I had a blast at NYU. Everyone was so enthusiastic, they put on a very polished, confident show, and the surprise flash mob at the end was perfectly executed.
My best wishes to all the students involved," Imran said in a statement. The students had been practising for the performance for over two weeks, ahead of Imran's visit to New York as part of the promotional tour.
"As the president of NYU Dillagi, a Bollywood dance team, I knew we had to have simpler steps that the general public would be able to do and we sent videos out to the public. I thought that the flash mob came out even better than expected since people kept joining the mob throughout the sequence and it definitely surprised those that did not know of it ahead of time," Mohit Chhatpar, coordinator of the flash mob, said.
"It was really fun to be doing a flash mob and having Imran among us was all the more fun. He was very sporting and interacted with the students.
We are excited about this movie as well and are glad he could come and be among us to talk about his movie," he added. The Dharma Productions' film, also starring Kareena Kapoor, is set to hit theatres Feb 10.

It also catapulted the careers of lead actors Rahul Roy and Anu Agarwal, who forayed into Bollywood with this film. Suri is also set to hunt for new faces for the sequel.

I'm donning Indian and western avatars and it's a very modern film." The film is called Same 2 Same.
However, she refuses to reveal if she is producing the film herself or it is being produced by another banner. On the production front, she says that she and business partner Kuunal Goomer are thrilled that an international and Indian corporate house approached them for a possible tie-up for a three-film deal.
She adds, "We've been approached by a biggie and something may work out. But we haven't finalised it yet.
I don't believe in hierarchy of any sort in my production house, which is only four months old, so I guess the magic's attracting investors as Bollywood is getting so much bigger." Meanwhile, the actress is going full throttle with acting and producing.
In her kitty is Shortcut Romeo with Neil Nitin Mukesh, and Race 2 opposite Saif Ali Khan . She continues, "Post Humraaz, I am working with Abbas Mastan again in Race 2.
I've been paired opposite Saif, and he's a very focused actor. Neil is super cool and we click really well.

Some part of the film was also shot in Murmansk, Russia, where the temperatures are often sub zero, as it would snow heavily. Shooting in this climate therefore became very difficult, but since the permissions had been taken and all other arrangements made, it was not possible to reschedule or postpone the shoots.
Like most other actors, Neil too has done his own stunts in the film. But while he did manage to do the stunts, the climate took a toll on his health and on one instance, got injured as well.
Talking about this particular scene when he got stuck in snow, Neil says. "We were shooting in extreme climatic conditions in Murmansk.
It is located in the extreme northwest part of Russia and the entire place was covered with snow. We could not cancel a single shooting day as we were on a tight schedule hence we continued shooting in spite of rough weather.
" He had initially fractured his finger earlier and this time he got stuck in snow. A source from the sets elaborates, "During an action scene, Neil got stuck in ice rather badly.
The entire unit ran to his rescue and rushed him to the heating zone. He had frost bites and his body temperature had dropped drastically.
Shooting for the film has been one of the most physically straining experience for the cast and crew along with the actors

And reportedly, the actor's rumoured ex-flame Deepika Padukone is a strong contender for the female lead. As for Neil, he has decided to don the role of music composer as well.
And we hear that the actor and his reputed singer father, Nitin Mukesh will sing one of Mukesh's classic evergreens. The source added that besides composing the music, the father and son are likely to also produce the film.
When contacted, Nitin confirmed, "Well, yes it's true. But I can't reveal details.
I've been working on this script quietly for years now. I was wondering who would direct it for me.

I can't wait to start the film. I'll be singing all the numbers for my character.

(less)Neil Nitin to play good, bad and the ugly
Mumbai Mirror found out that apart from signing Tigmanshu Dhulia's Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster Part 2, the actor has also grabbed a role in Rakeysh Mehra's Rang De Basanti assistant Prerna Wadhawan's directorial debut. According to an industry insider, Dhulia and Wadhawan watched the promos of Neil's forthcoming films and were impressed with his performance.
And after a few meetings with the actor, he was brought on board. Neil will reportedly play a gangster in Dhulia's venture.
Randeep Hooda had essayed the very role in Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster. Neil's role in Wadhawan's film will be diametrically opposite.
"Prerna's film is a love story. This will be the first time Neil will play a romantic lead.
Shraddha Kapoor will play his love interest. Both films will go on floors in 2012," revealed a source close to the projects.
Wadhawan's film will also be Shraddha Kapoor's first film outside YRF, the producion house with who she had a three-film contract. However, after her debut venture Luv Ka The End failed at the box office, the actress has now decided to try her luck elsewhere.

(less)Abhishek Bachchan's a bowling champion!
They had to change their shoes to start with. "Oh God, I'm going to look crazy in these shoes with this dress," Sonam said to Abhishek, who was also changing sitting next to her.
"Oh, you mean you don't look crazy otherwise?" retorted Abhishek, laughing. After some more good-natured ribbing, AB decided a warm-up session was in order.
He bowled..
. and scored a strike! There was a huge round of applause as AB swaggered around, arms spread out in triumph, and told Sonam and Neil, "You guys should quit now, I think.
" Finally, Sonam decided to go barefoot, as her size of shoes was not to be found, and the teams were announced - Abhishek and Bipasha, and Sonam with Neil. That's when AB discovered Bipasha wasn't playing! We later heard her tell Sonam, "You're not as short-sighted as I am, so go ahead.
" So we guess that's the reason she chose not to play. Either that, or the lady was too much in love with her bubblegum pink stilettos! But she cheered the players from the sidelines.
So poor Abhishek had to play for Bipasha too, but he took to the task seriously. So intent was he on the game that after the eighth round, he removed his jacket, and shooed Neil away so that he could concentrate.
But it paid off - beating his co-stars by a whisker, AB won the 'tournament'! There was a quick press conference post this, amid squealing kids and squabbling parents. In fact, in the middle of all this, one little something was heard telling a guard, "Aap toh bodyguard ho.
Aap dila do autograph. Aapko kaise nahin denge?" Anyway, the questions ranged from who their inspiration is (to which Bipasha said her mother, and Neil said Nutan and Waheeda Rehman !), to whether there were any catfights between Sonam and Bipasha.
AB had to leave midway, but someone asked Sonam, Bipasha and Neil if they were to be a part of a game, which game it would be. "WWF," said Bipasha promptly, "These precision games are not for me, lekin kisi ko maar-vaar ke kuch karna ho toh jeet jaungi!" "Talking competition," said Sonam.
"I can talk to anyone about anything and I can talk a lot!" "Shooting or archery," said Neil, to which Bipasha interrupted with, "Not WWF?" Promptly, Neil said with a wicked look, "Sure. If I'm fighting with you, I'd welcome all the punches and kicks and beatings.
" Soon after this, they all stood up to leave and they were followed till the lift by screaming kids, onlookers and the shutterbugs. As they left, the actors were discussing what time to meet to go to a party! Some energy, wot say?

(less)Sonam Kapoor snubs Neil Nitin Mukesh
The rest of the cast only discovered this as the shooting progressed. What's worse, the actor is bursting with inputs on scenes or song sequences, annoying several of the other actors in the movie.
However, while the rest of the cast is apparently taking Neil's 'friendly advice' with a smile, Sonam Kapoor has decided not to entertain him. For a song-and-dance sequence, Neil (who prides himself on being a singer, composer and choreographer) started supervising the choreographer.
A source said, "Neil meant no harm. He likes to make his presence felt on the sets.
But when he advised Sonam on how to do her steps, she told him to keep his advice to himself." "He did try to suggest dance steps to Sonam, and she didn't like it.
She made it clear to Neil that she didn't appreciate his unsolicited assistance. Poor Neil.
He just likes to be more than just an actor while shooting," the source added. Red-faced, the actor apparently withdrew from the scene and kept quiet thereafter.
Neil, as expected, laughs off the story. "Sonam is a darling.
I don't need to show dance moves to a person who is a genius at it. In fact, I learnt a few extra dance steps from her," he said.

Shortcut Romeo is the remake of the Tamil hit Thiruttu Payale , which was directed by Susi Ganesan. The Hindi version has Neil Nitin Mukesh and Ameesha Patel in the lead roles.
Richa was to play the role that Sonia Agarwal had played in the Tamil version. "Before I signed the film, both the director and the actor were flexible with the dates and I had also informed them that I would be simultaneously doing a Telugu project.
But after the agreement was signed and film confirmed, Neil Nithin Mukesh was slightly pushy about the dates and wanted me to commit for three full months for this film," says the actress. The upset actress has even explained her situation to them.
"In fact, they promised to close the shoot by February. But it's already December and the shooting is yet to start," added the actress.
However, Richa is inclined to do the movie. "I really liked the script and the photoshoot has also been done.
But because of a simple logistics issue, I had to terminate the agreement. It's formally over now.

The two have been having some bitter arguments, but Neil is unwilling to budge." The film is reportedly a revenge saga, where Mukesh's character wants to avenge the wrongdoings committed against him.
According to the source, Mukesh wants to include a bit where he orchestrates his incarceration so as to get the chance to meet the villains in jail. When contacted, Mukesh admitted that Paidaar has jail sequences.
"But the prison in Paidaar and the action that follows, will have no resemblance to Madhur's Jail . We'll create a prison world that's never been seen in Indian cinema before.
"We'll use John Woo's Face/Off and Simon West's Con Air as reference points," he said. Tweet

(less)Post-photo fiasco, Veena Malik goes missing
30am on Friday. Nobody has complained to the police yet.
The film's director Hemant Madhukar told TOI, "Veena was shooting with us from 6pm to 6am for the last 15 days. From Thursday evening to the time she disappeared from the movie sets, Veena seemed distracted and upset.
" Around 5.30am, she was advised to go to her vanity van.
"I told her we would call her once the shot was ready. When my assistant went to the van, she was not there," said Madhukar.
The production team sent a car daily to pick up and drop Veena. On Friday morning, she didn't use the car.
"I know there was a car waiting for her for nearly three hours. Maybe she took the car but I am not sure," said Madhukar.
Veena hit headlines recently after a nude shoot for a magazine cover. She though denied participating in the shoot after a controversy broke out in Pakistan .
On Friday morning, Veena sent Madhukar an SMS saying she was unwell. "I waz really not well I have a high fever for the last so many days n waz little upset coz of some personal reasons (sic)," the SMS read.
Since then, her phone has been found switched off. Madhukar denied this was a publicity stunt.
"Initially, I did feel that way but I got a call from a cop from Aarey Milk Colony police station asking me about Veena," he said. There are rumours that Veena's disappearance could be a stunt for a TV show she is doing.
"There could be issues with her work permit in India," said an actor who didn't want to be identified. Her manager Prateik Mehta said, "We don't need to do any stunt at all.
I will file a police complaint very soon. I was waiting for her lawyer to return to India.

(less)Bank employees swipe 17 lakh from Anupama Verma's account
Anupama realised her account was empty when a cheque that she had issued bounced. According to the police, the two culprits identified as Rakesh Vishwakarma and Nitin Sharma were working for ICICI Bank's Nariman Point branch in 2010 when Verma had opened the account and deposited the money.
In June last year, the actress had gone abroad and so had not been able to check her account for many months, which was observed by the two accused. Police officers investigating the case said the duo was also aware of the fact that Verma had received a debit card but hadn't activated it.
Cops added that the crooks then applied for a debit card in Verma's name, claiming the previous one had gone missing. After they had quit their jobs they accessed various ATMs in Borivali more than 170 times during which they withdrew Rs 17.
3 lakh. (Rs 13.
3 lakh from her savings account and Rs 4 lakh from a fixed deposit). After the withdrawal, the two started working for other banks.
"When I gave a cheque of Rs 7,500 to someone and it bounced, I was shocked. However, I approached the bank and lodged a complaint.
When I contacted the relationship manager I was told that the next cheque would not bounce. However, the cheque bounced twice more before being passed in July, when some interest from my FD had been transferred to the savings account.
It was only in December last year when I realised that my account was completely empty," said Verma. "I had also issued a cheque of Rs 700 for another transaction.
When that cheque bounced, that's when I learnt about the theft," added Verma who later approached the bank's head office, after which the institution paid her the full amount and reported the matter to the police. However, the actress says she is not done.
"I will also file a case against the bank. It was due to their negligence that I had to face so many problems and harassment.
If my money isn't safe in a bank, then where else do I go? How can two bank employees create a debit card in my name with false documents and then use it to withdraw such a large sum and the bank doesn't realise something is amiss," she said. Police officers investigating the case said that they had traced the ATM centre from where the withdrawals had been made.
CCTV recordings revealed the two culprits making cash withdrawals. "We then tracked down the duo and arrested them on Wednesday for forgery and theft.
We are also trying to find out if any other present or former bank officials are involved in the matter," said an officer from the Borivli police station. The two will be presented in court on Friday.
"First her money goes missing. Then the bank puts the blame on her and makes her wait four months to recover her own money.
This is totally preposterous. We'll be sending a legal notice to the bank on Thursday," said advocate Hitesh Jain, who is advising Anupama Verma.
"A fraud was detected in the account of a customer. ICICI Bank filed a police complaint based on which the main accused and his accomplice have been arrested.
Bank has taken all steps to ensure customers financial interest is safeguarded," said an ICICI Bank spokesperson in response to a detailed email from MiD DAY. Tweet

(less)Neil Nitin Mukesh's true to life
A unit source revealed, "Skeptical about Neil Nitin Mukesh's safety using a real M20 Super Bazooka while shooting for "Players" in Russia, director duo Abbas-Mustan wanted to use a replica. But the adventurous actor insisted on a live Bazooka to be used for the shot.
It was after much deliberation that the directors gave into Neil's demand." "All the crew members and onlookers were cleared off the sets.
The powerful impact of the Bazooka could land up injuring anybody and Abbas-Mustan did not want to take any risk." But for Neil, it was a dream-come-true.
He was more excited because Abbas-Mustan gave into his wish. The actor kept telling the crew members on the sets that, how - from playing with the weapon on a gaming console - to actually holding it, it was an unforgettable experience for him.
But things were not as easy as it seemed. "Neil had to maintain a calm and composed facial expression and take care not to shut his eyes while firing the gun as the impact of the scene would have been lost.
The director duo had also warned that Bazooka fired both ways, front and back and Neil should be on his toes while pulling the trigger. And although he was given training before the shoot on how to handle the weapon by members of the Russian army, his feet were still held strong and mounted on a special platform, so that he wouldn't get thrown off by the massive impact that the gun creates," said our source.
When contacted, Neil confirmed using a live M20 Super Bazooka saying, "The scene required me to fire two shots. The first shot made my heart sink into my boots.
My body jerked violently with the impact. When I fired for the second time, I was more prepared to deal with it.
There was complete stability."
