Karan gives over Imran's dates to Kunal Kohli
Meticulous planner that he is, Karan had set aside a large chunk of Imran and Sonam's dates in June and July for the promotion of "I Hate Luv Storys". But Karan gave away Sonam's publicity dates for the shooting of Pankaj Kapoor's Mausam in Edinburgh.
Then Kohli requested Karan to let go of Imran's dates for his first independent production Break Ke Baad . Karan agreed and Imran marched off to Mauritius to shoot for Break Ke Baad which is being directed by Kohli's assistant Danish Aslam.
Confirming these developments from Mauritius, Kohli said: "Yes, Karan sweetly let me have Imran's dates so that I could complete my schedule in Mauritius. It's rare for two producers like me and Karan to be friends and do whatever we can to help one another.
" Karan wanted Imran to be back here in the second week of June, but Kohli requested a week more. "Karan's stars do extensive publicity.
So he has made quite a sacrifice for me. My film, which would be Imran's next release, can only benefit from all the publicity for Karan's film.
" Now Imran and Sonam are back in Mumbai and they are expected to do 19 hours of publicity every day to make up for lost time! "Yes, Imran and Sonam joined us from the 20th June. They had promised to really revv up the publicity when they return," said Punit Malhotra, director of I Hate Luv Storys

Azim looks up to Salman, SRK and Aamir Khan
To make his character in "Qasam Se Qasam Se" appear realistic, Azim frequented call centre offices to absorb the finer nuances of the people working there. "It was quite a relevation for me as an actor.
I witnessed not only people's mannerisms but also the activities they indulge in during the break hour. Looking into the mirror, some guys would be busy ruffling their hair and taking care of their looks, while some would busy binging.
And there would others catching up with family and friends over their cell phones. This has helped shaped my character in the film.
" Azim feels that all our veteran actors were keen observers and would translate that on screen. "Whether it were the legendary actors like Dilip Kumar or the late Raj Kapoor or Dev Anand , they were schools in themselves.
I am a great fan of Salman Khan , Shah Rukh Khan and Aamir Khan and look at them as a student who looks upon his guru. I am mastering the art of acting watching their films," he smiles

(less)I never thought I'd be a desirable woman: Sameera Reddy
"My name in the list means a lot to me. As as a young girl, I never thought even in my wildest dreams that I would become a desirable woman.
I yearned for a perfect body as I was ugly duckling in school. But now that I have entered films, I believe that beauty is hidden in the imperfections of people and it all depends on how you use them.
That's my definition of desirable and I am glad to have made it to the list," says Sameera. The actor is basking in the success of her last Tamil release opposite Madhavan and has Padma Shri Priyadarshan's Tezz to look forward to.
Sameera has now decided that she will do a mix of performance-oriented and glamorous characters on screen, something that Simran and Jyothika did in Kollywood. So is the report true that Sameera wants to become the next Simran and Jyothika? "You cannot become another person.

(less)Sherlyn Chopra likes being unconventional
Be it politics, cinema, sports, business or any other arena, women across the globe including India are in great form mentally, physically and consciously to undertake greater responsibilities and tougher challenges that are often encountered on paths less travelled." Sherlyn is also happy that she has gone from being just a pin-up girl to an entrepreneur.
Says she, "The rapid metamorphosis in my case would not have been possible had the mindsets of the majority of the people in the Hindi film industry continued to be goverened by prejudices. I look upto entrepreneurs who command respect and attention for daring to think out of the box and act accordingly.
They do not have a herd mentality. What they have is unadulterated creativity which is set on fire by courage.
" Naming films like " The Dirty Picture ", " Erin Brokovich ", " No One Killed Jessica "," The Black Swan " as cinema that has changed the way we think, Sherlyn says, "Unconventionality is no longer a taboo. It is being applauded and celebrated by both the classes and the masses.
The pulse of the youth is racing towards liberalisation. And I'm truly loving it.
" Asked why she decided to give us photographs that resembled those of the " Jism 2 " campaign, the actor quips, "I have pushed the envelope by choosing to cover my nakedness with nothing but pure consciousness."

(less)Flash mob greets Imran at New York University
"I had a blast at NYU. Everyone was so enthusiastic, they put on a very polished, confident show, and the surprise flash mob at the end was perfectly executed.
My best wishes to all the students involved," Imran said in a statement. The students had been practising for the performance for over two weeks, ahead of Imran's visit to New York as part of the promotional tour.
"As the president of NYU Dillagi, a Bollywood dance team, I knew we had to have simpler steps that the general public would be able to do and we sent videos out to the public. I thought that the flash mob came out even better than expected since people kept joining the mob throughout the sequence and it definitely surprised those that did not know of it ahead of time," Mohit Chhatpar, coordinator of the flash mob, said.
"It was really fun to be doing a flash mob and having Imran among us was all the more fun. He was very sporting and interacted with the students.
We are excited about this movie as well and are glad he could come and be among us to talk about his movie," he added. The Dharma Productions' film, also starring Kareena Kapoor, is set to hit theatres Feb 10.

It also catapulted the careers of lead actors Rahul Roy and Anu Agarwal, who forayed into Bollywood with this film. Suri is also set to hunt for new faces for the sequel.
"I will cast fresh faces with a new boy and a new girl," said Mohit. While some are referring to Aashiqui 2 as a sequel, others are calling it a remake.
However, producer Mukesh Bhatt of Vishesh Films sets the record straight. "It is neither a sequel nor a remake.
It can be said as the musical series of Aashiqui ..

Priyanka plays happy actress in Kunal Kohli's film
"Neither Priyanka nor Shahid is in an unhappy space in the script. The fact that they're both intrinsically happy people helped," said Kohli.
Reacting tongue-in-cheek to the character being described as an unhappy actress lost in a haze of alcohol, Kohli quipped: "I think they're getting my film confused with the second-half of 'The Dirty Picture'. Priyanka plays a very happy actress in my film.
" The director was so clear about his character's characteristics that he wanted Priyanka and Shahid to visit those emotions, places and friends during the shooting of the film, that only kept them happy. If sources are to be believed, Priyanka involuntarily ended up spending more time shooting for Kohli's film rather than for Anurag Basu's "Barfee" with Ranbir Kapoor .
When asked if his film was in any way responsible for the delay in "Barfee", Kohli said: "On the contrary Anurag Basu and I have swapped Priyanka's dates. I took his one-month schedule from 15 August to 15 September to shoot in London and I gave my schedule from 15 July to 15 August to Anurag.
Beyond that I've no clue about the schedules of 'Barfee'. I shot with Priyanka on the dates allocated to me.
That's it." But the fact is, Kohli's epic film, the story of which spans nearly a decade and required shooting at a number of locations, was completed in record time.
Priyanka has done as much homework playing the autistic character in 'Barfee' as she did to play the "happy" 1960s' actress in "Teri Meri..
.".
For Kohli's film, she was regularly in touch with two of the most glamorous actresses of the period -- Asha Parekh and Saira Banu , taking not just fashion tips but also tips on how to remain positive and sunny. "It wasn't just about the clothes and hair.
Ashaji and Sairaji represent a certain spirit of bonhomie and joy. I wanted Priyanka to play her character with the same positivity.
She is an actress but no 'bechari' and certainly not a victim," said Kohli, known for films like "Hum Tum" and "Fanaa"

Another seven days don't matter," Sonam told IANS. The directorial debut of eminent actor Pankaj Kapoor, Mausam features Sonam as a Kashmiri girl who falls in love with a Punjabi boy, Shahid Kapoor.

(less)I’ve always had a crush on Bebo: Imran Khan
This young actor, who has been very successful in the rom-com space with I Hate Luv Storys (2010) and Mere Brother ki Dulhan (2011) hitting the bulls eye at the box office, is getting ready for yet another rom-com co-produced by Dharma Production and UTV Motion Pictures. Ek Main aur Ekk Tu, which is prescribed as the perfect date film, has Imran romancing Kareena Kapoor for the first time.
It has been directed by debutant Shakun Batra, who is very close to Imran and who actually indulged him by casting him opposite the girl of his dreams. Imran, who turns a shade of red even when you mention Kareena casually, says, "Kareena is perhaps the most beautiful actress that I have worked with.
And I've worked with some real beauties.'' Long before he even dreamt of being an actor, Imran had a huge crush on Bebo.

(less)Deepika Padukone's house warming party
Our source said, "Deepika has bought a palatial three-bedroom house - probably the most expensive apartment any actress has bought in recent times. She had never hosted a party before, and this was pending for a while.
She shifted to her new house during Ganpati with a small pooja. Her family is devoted to Ganpati.
Given her hectic schedule, she had no time to really settle down in her new house. It is only now that she has had the time to hold a bash.
She is planning to invite everyone she has worked with in the industry." According to sources, Deepika has already invited Shahrukh Khan and Farah Khan with whom she made her debut.
She has also invited her ex, Ranbir Kapoor. The others on her list include Imran Khan, Karan Johar, Saif Ali Khan, Imtiaz Ali, Farhan Akhtar, Arjun Rampal, Sajid Nadiadwala, Kunal Kohli, Akshay Kumar, John Abraham, Abhishek Bachchan and Ashutosh Gowarikar among others.

(less)Imran Khan is a Kareena Kapoor fan
Says Karan, "Short Term Shaadi was just a working title that attached itself to this film through the making. Neither Shakun Batra (who makes his directorial debut here) nor I were happy with it from the start, so we went title hunting.
Just recently, we settled on Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu, but there was a process attached to getting it, hence the delayed announcement.'' KJo adds that the new title fits this rom-com perfectly well.
He says, "Short Term Shaadi wasn't giving the right vibe. This story is about the conversational chemistry between these two very beautiful people - Imran and Kareena.
EMAET is a witty, feel-good, slice-of-life comedy and it conveys the energies of this couple.'' Revealing a secret, Karan says, "Imran is a self-confessed Kareena fan.
When I saw these two together in one frame at the photo shoot, I realised that they were a smashing couple. Casting them together was a wise decision.
It is amazing that Kareena is romancing Aamir in one film and then his nephew Imran in another. Getting Bebo and Imran together is a coup of sorts.
'' Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu will release on February 10 and KJo recommends it as the perfect Valentine's Day flick. Says he, "You can watch it with your friend or with your date.
'' He also feels that this could well be Dharma Productions' hat-trick in the romcom genre; the earlier two being Wake Up Sid and I Hate Luv Storys. "Shakun and Imran are close friends.
And this film also shows their comfort level as an actor-director team,'' he says, adding, "Kareena hasn't done a romcom in a while; Imran has made a perfect place for himself in this genre. As I said earlier, this film has captured the conversational chemistry of these two perfectly.
And though Imran has acted with several other leading ladies, the USP of Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu is seeing Bebo and him together for the first time."

Varun Dhawan: David Dhawan's elder son Rohit Dhawan made his debut as a director in 2011 with Desi Boyz. His younger son Varun Dhawan will debut as an actor with Karan Johar's ambitious project 'Student of the Year'.
Both sons of David Dhawan have paved their own path into Bollywood without the need of their father having to launch them. Varun has earlier assisted Karan Johar on My Name is Khan .
Alia Bhatt: Other than David Dhawan's son, Karan Johar will also be introducing Mahesh Bhatt's daughter Alia Bhatt in his campus love-story 'Student of the Year'. Alia Bhatt is Mahesh Bhatt's daughter from his second wife Soni Razdan.
Again like in the case of Varun Dhawan, even Alia isn't being launched by the Bhatt banner Vishesh Films, especially when Bhatts are known for introducing several new talents in Bollywood. Nevertheless with Karan Johar at the helm of affairs, it should be a dream debut for Alia anyways.
Siddharth Malhotra: Siddharth completes the debut factor in the lead cast of Karan Johar's 'Student of the Year'. Not to be confused with the director of We Are Family (also a Karan Johar production), Siddharth Malhotra is a Delhi boy who boasts of great looks.
Karan Johar would ensure he acts well too. Arjun Kapoor: 2012 seems to be a year when most celebrity children are being launched in banners outside their home productions.
Prominent Bollywood producer Boney Kapoor's son and Anil Kapoor's nephew, Arjun Kapoor will be launched by Yash Raj Films. Arjun was to debut with a film called 'Virus Diwan' until the banner scrapped the project and is now introducing him with 'Ishaqzaade' to be directed by Do Dooni Chaar director Habib Faisal.
Like Cousin Sonam Kapoor, even Arjun used to be overweight at 140 kgs. But under Salman Khan's gym-guidance, he lost oodles of weight and is now his smashing-self.
Arjun Kapoor assisted on films like Kal Ho Na Ho, Salaam-e-Ishq, Wanted and No Entry . Ileana D'cruz: Ileana is a popular Telugu actress who has to her credit superhit films like Pokiri, Kick and Nenu Naa Rakshasi.
She makes her Bollywood debut opposite Ranbir Kapoor in 'Barfii'. Director Anurag Basu has put her through meticulous diction coaching so that she is comfortable with the Hindi language.
And with Ranbir playing a mute character, she is expected to do all the talking in the film. Subsequently she will be seen opposite Akshay Kumar in 'Khiladi 786' and 'Once Upon a Time in Mumbaai 2'.
Tapsee Pannu: Another Telugu actress Tapsee Pannu will be making her debut in the remake of 'Chashme Buddoor' being directed by David Dhawan. The charming actress will be reprising Deepti Naval's role from the original and is paired opposite Ali Zafar in the film.
Tapsee was a Miss India contestant in 2008. Amy Jackson: After Katrina Kaif and Nargis Fakhri, Amy Jackson in another foreign import in Bollywood who will make her debut opposite Prateik Babbar in 'Ek Deewana Tha' - the Hindi remake of Tamil hit Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa .
The ravishing looking actress has won titles like Miss Teen 2008 and has already worked in a Tamil film Madrasapattinam . Esha Gupta: Model Esha Gupta bagged the role in 'Jannat 2' for her hot looks and sex appeal.
Bhatts wanted an actress with a bold body language and thereby she replaced girl-next-door Prachi Desai who was earlier signed for the film. The dusky bombshell is known as the desi Angelina Jolie in modeling world and was also considered as the second lead for Krrish sequel.
Pulkit Samrat: Best known for his television stint as Lakshya Virani in Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi , Pulkit Samrat was out of the scene following fallout with Ekta Kapoor. He now makes his Bollywood debut with 'Bittoo Boss' from the same banner that produced the hilarious flick Pyaar Ka Punchnama with a complete new cast.
Imran Zahid: Imran Zahid would be another Bhatt discovery who will debut with 'Jannat 2'. This theatre artist has worked with Mahesh Bhatt earlier and Jannat 2 will mark his foray into feature films
(less)80% of my fans are female: Sonam Kapoor
People started noticing my clothes only a year ago Says Sonam, "I've been in the industry for two-and-a-half years. When "Saawariya" and "Delhi 6" came, people only spoke about how Indian I looked.
The memory of the audience is very short. They forgot about these two years, when all they spoke about was how Indian my looks were and how I was doing those 'Smita Patil' kind of roles.
But suddenly, with "Aisha" and "I Hate Luv Storys", they started identifying me with those characters. But that's also nice as it means I did my job well.
" I'm glad that 80% of my fans are female Despite the 'fashion icon' classification, Sonam claims she has no specific public image. Says she, "I don't think I have an image in the public space.
What I really like about myself in this space is that most of my fans are female. In fact, 80% of my fans are female and I like that because they like the fact that I'm a real girl.
They like that I dress up, and that I dress up for real girls. My dressing is aspirational, but I don't wear the 'tight-tight sort of clothes' that make me look like I'll steal your husband or boyfriend.
I like the fact that they like that I read, or that I speak in a certain way or that I'm not scared of people judging me. I speak my mind.
And I have women fans because of that. And that is one thing I will never change about myself.
" I only get flak from the men in the industry While Sonam says that women appreciate her for what she is, it is usually the men who give her flak for speaking her mind. She tells us, "My father has always brought me up like a son and he's more ambitious for me and my sister than he is for his son.
So I think giving us that freedom, giving us that strength..
. I have so much self respect for myself because of the way my dad has brought us up.
..
I always speak my mind and I have an opinion and I feel girls get inspired by it, they like it." But Sonam denies that it is something she has cultivated after coming to the industry, and tells us, "It is the way we have been brought up.
Yes, it gets me flaks from men (and uncles), but being so plainspoken has never worked against me because I've never done it with a bad intention..
. When you don't mean any harm, things don't come and bite you back.
So I'm not doing anything to mar someone's image or put someone down when I say something. I am just plainspoken.
I say it as it is. For example, I don't have a bad reputation, people don't talk about my affairs, or catfights because I have never had any fights with people and I never had affairs with my heroes.
So, there is no reason for people to talk about anything. Even though there are girls who are quite diplomatic about stuff like that, their image is far more tarnished than mine could be.
I am plainspoken and I say things in a certain way, but I also lead my life in a way that people can't question what I do or who I am. I feel like I have a responsibility because there are a lot of girls who do look up to me and who see me in the public eye and I am aspirational to them and I have a responsibility to behave in a certain way, to conduct my life in a certain way.
" I support any movement for the betterment of our country As someone who people look up to, Sonam says she realises how important it is for known faces to support public campaigns. And the actress is certainly supporting the wave against corruption.
Talking about Anna Hazare and the entire campaign, she says, "I do support any movement that is for the betterment of our country or one that causes a lot of people in the country to come together. A lot of people are saying that had become a catfight between various political parties.
But people shouldn't just get on with their lives like earlier. There should be some change that happens.
..
I am for every movement that is positive..
. who does it, who is part of it or who instigating, it is inspiring.
Any person who causes that change becomes a symbol." But as far as getting out on the street is concerned, Sonam says that that becomes particularly difficult, adding, "That is something that I don't think I will do.
I would love to, but a lot of attention is diverted from the cause when a celebrity comes to the ground. People were asking that " Mausam" was supposed to have its musical launch in London but we cancelled it because of the riots.
So, the news should be about the riots and not the launch. Similarly, while Anna Hazare's fast was on, the news should've been about Anna Hazare and not about Sonam Kapoor supporting him.
" I bought a Manjit Bawa with my first paycheck Since Sonam was in the city for an exhibition, we did question her about her fascination with art, and the aficionado told us, "I love art. With my first paycheck, I didn't buy any clothes.
I bought a Manjit Bawa. This was three years ago.
He was one of the best painters out there. I wish I could own more of his brilliant art.
Besides him, I love the Indian masters - Souza, Raza, and I love Jayshree Burman and Shakti Burman. I love sculptures and I love Paresh Maity's work very much.
I love collecting paintings and hopefully one day I will have my own collection." While she wants to own all the big masters, the Kapoor girl says she is already an investor, and tells us, "I've invested quite a bit in art.
In fact, property and art are the only two things I understand and I think those are very lucrative. Ever since I started working, I've been investing in art.
My mom and my maasi are really into art. My mom's a big collector, and she used to buy paintings 20-30 years ago and they are worth crazy amounts today.
When she'd bought those, they were worth very little. And it's not that I am ever going to sell my art.
It is for pleasure more than anything else." Tweet'; var stindex=100; var stp=150; var taglen=0; var tmp; var tagcheck = new Array("div","span","br","font","a"); if(storymetalinks==true) { var storydiv=document.

(less)Why should I say 'sorry' to Ranbir Kapoor: Sonam Kapoor
Pankaj Kapur is known to be a very hard taskmaster..
. Not with me.
He never raised his voice at me. He knew that I prepared a lot before coming to the sets.
I imbibed a lot from his narrations. But yes, every actor is different and Pankaj Sir dealt with each one of us differently.
Once I met him, I knew that I wouldn't be sidelined in the film even though his son was the hero. And did his son live up to his reputation of being a meddler? I haven't worked with Shahid before Mausam, so I don't know how he behaves otherwise.
But during the filming of Mausam, he was extremely respectful of his father and obeyed him completely. I know there were rumours of Shahid and me not getting along as well.
The truth is, Shahid and I share a very good equation. We are good friends.
Just because I am not having an affair with my hero, doesn't mean I don't get along with him. Let me tell you something about him.
..
Go on..
. He doesn't give a damn about what he wears.
He is too much of a teenager who dresses up like an 18-year-old skateboarder. He can pull off just about anything without raising eyebrows.
But..
.and it's hilarious.
..
he is extremely worried about his hair. But you, on the other hand, are too particular about what you wear.
I don't wear tight dresses that outline my butt. I refuse to get into body hugging tops with spandex simply because it doesn't fit my body type.
I do not believe in cosmetic surgeries either. I think, every single imperfection adds to your beauty.
I'd rather be imperfect than perfect. And yes, I have a certain sense of aesthetics.
Think about it..
. I still look good in both Indian and Western wear.
(And she winks) Maybe not tight clothes, but would you ever sport a bikini? I don't have a body like Deepika Padukone or Bipasha Basu. But if it's a beach scene, I surely can't wear a salwar kameez, right? Speaking about Deepika, why haven't you two resolved your cold war? She is sweet if and when we meet.
However, we haven't met since we made an appearance on Karan Johar's show. We don't have time, I guess.
Also, for two people to be friends, they need to think alike, isn't it? Correct me if I'm wrong..
. but you are not apologetic about your remarks against Ranbir on Karan Johar's show.
No correction required. You are not wrong.
Well, it was Ranbir who started it all by saying 'Sonam is not sexy'. I just shot back and said 'Ranbir is not sexy'.
If a man says it, chalta hai. But when a woman says the same thing, nahi chalta hai? That's sexist! Why should I say 'sorry' to him? Just because his father made a hue and cry about it? If Ranbir apologises to me, I shall too.
So, you don't talk to Ranbir anymore..
. I don't know Ranbir anymore.
He is not my friend now. I did have offers to act opposite him but I turned them down.
And that's simply because I thought that those roles did not suit me. If I get something nice, I'll act with him.
It isn't necessary for me to be friends with all my actors. How do you judge whether a role suits you or not? Depends on my mood.
I am eccentric.(Smiles) Punit Malhotra? What about him? He was my director in I Hate Luv Storys.
You are dating him..
. I shall talk about my personal life if and when I decide to get married.
That day is yet to come
(less)Karan Johar's getting popular on endorsement circuit
It changed the way people across the globe started treating me.'' The filmmaker who is ready to start the schedule of his film Student of the Year on August 16 at Mumbai's Yashraj Studio with new-comers will take a break in the third week of August to shoot for Emami cosmetics.
Karan has already shot for Nescafe with Deepika Padukone and Purab Kohli, Star HD, Lloyd and he is now expected to shoot for Emami. The filmmaker-cum-talk-show-host is also being asked to endorse a couple of more lifestyle products say sources.
More on that at a later date
(less)Imran organises exhibit of Kareena's candid pics
The young actor has always maintained he is a huge fan of Kareena and captured some candid moments on his lens while working together. "She (Kareena) is the most beautiful actress I have worked with.
I found her beautiful right from her first film 'Refugee'," he said. Imran had even admitted that he had a huge crush on Kareena in his boyhood days.
"I could not articulate my feelings to her..
.I nursed a silent crush.
When we started working together in this film we got along really well. I observed her closely while we were shooting and even took her pictures without her knowing it," Imran had said.

(less)Aamir Khan bonds with Karan Johar
Imran Khan And as with most Bollywood bashes, the cops came knocking at Imran's Pali Hill residence at 3 am to ask the host to turn down the music. But it was the new best friends, Karan and Aamir, who pacified the law men and made sure that nothing dampened the spirit of the party.
With Aamir and Karan visibly bonding, the industry has been abuzz with speculation about the two collaborating professionally. The rumour doing the rounds is that Karan plans to cast Aamir in one of his forthcoming productions.
A source told Mumbai Mirror, "Karan was seen huddled in a serious, private conversation with Aamir, almost all evening. Karan and Aamir were so deep in discussion that they didn't realize it was 4 am, when they left.
In fact, the two along with Deepika were among the last guests to leave." Even though all eyes were on Karan and Aamir, what also garnered attention was the absence of many on the guest list - namely Ranbir Kapoor and Imran's leading ladies in Delly Belly and Mere Brother Ki Dulhan.
Shernaz Tresurywallah and Poorna Jagannthan of Delhi Belly as well as Katrina Kaif of Mere Brother Ki Dulhan were all abroad for one reason or another. While the leading ladies of the two films being celebrated were not present, Imran's other female co-stars, Sonam and Deepika , attended the bash.
And of course Deepika didn't forget to bring along Mallya Jr
(less)Karan Johar chooses his directors on instinct
In the recent past, Johar has given a platform to first-time directors like Ayan Mukherji for Wake Up Sid ; Rensil D'Silva for Kurbaan ; Tarun Mansukhani for Dostana ; Siddhartha Malhotra for We Are Family ; and Punit Malhotra for I Hate Luv Storys . His upcoming production, Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu is also directed by newcomer Shakun Batra, while Johar's co-production with Ekta Kapoor will see newcomer Akshay Roy wielding the megaphone.
"I think it's an instinct that I have. I have got it right some times and I have gone wrong with it at times but mostly, I have gone right with the directors I have worked with because they are solid human beings and that is what I look for," the 39-year-old said here at the success party of Agneepath , a remake of his father's 1990 film by the same name.
Karan also has a handy tip for all the directors who are trying to work their way to the top. "The only thing that I did in my first film and that I would tell every first director is that let your work speak for yourself.
I never gave a single interview till Kuch Kuch Hota Hai released because I had nothing to say." "Why should anyone hear me out when they had not seen the work that I had done," said Johar, who hit the jackpot with his debut film and continued his success story with his second film Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham .
"Now Karan Malhotra is open to the world of media and I would like him to spread his wings and fly and today you can ask many things from him because you have seen his film," he added. Johar's last directorial venture was My Name Is Khan for which he won the Filmfare award for best director.
He is currently busy directing his next, Student of The Year. Tweet

A source close to the Khan family says, "After these films released, he had to shoot for Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu and he's now started promoting it. So he hasn't given any of his staff any holiday.
" Imran in fact was also considering other holiday locations for his staff, including Bali and Mauritius. But since he was taken in by all the fun times he had in Vegas during the shoot of his new film, he decided to send his staff on a holiday there.
The source adds, "Imran has got the tickets and hotels for his staff's holiday booked through his travel agent." The actor was unavailable for comment, but his spokesperson confirmed the news.

(less)Hrithik admitted to Breach Candy Hospital
He has been advised complete bed rest for about fifteen days, which in turn has put the project, Agneepath on hold. The shoot of the film directed by Karan Malhotra has been cancelled until Hrithik gets back on his feet.
Hrithik was spotted at Breach Candy Hospital undergoing MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging). A source informed, "The actor entered the hospital, visibly in a lot of pain.
The doctors attended to him almost immediately." However, senior radiologist Dr Anirudh Kohli from Breach Candy Hospital refused to divulge the details of the various tests conducted on Roshan Jr.
"I cannot share any information about my patients since there is a privacy issue," said Kohli. Another official from the hospital (name withheld on request) said, "We have been strictly told not to talk about Hrithik to anybody.
" While the hospital officials refused to part with information on the actor's health, a source revealed, "Hrithik was supposed to lift a burly fighter, who weighs nearly 110 kg during the Agneepath shoot. This is a very important scene in the film.
Perhaps he got a little carried away and decided to do it himself (without using a body double). Kar to diya lekin uske immediately baad uske back mein bahut dard hone laga.
" "He was in a lot of pain and needed medical help. Lifting 110 kilos of a man obviosuly put a lot of pressure on Hrithik's back," added the source.
When contacted, Hrithik's father, Rakesh Roshan, said, "Fighter ke scene ka koi problem nahin hua. Hrithik has been working almost continuously on his TV show Just Dance and Karan Johar's film Agneepath.
He is back home, he just needs a little rest since he is overworked." Hrithik Roshan remained unavailable for comment.
Karan Johar too did not reply to our text message. According to sources, a song and a few important scenes of Agneepath still remain to be shot.

(less)My dad is crazy: Sonam Kapoor
In fact, Sonam told Mumbai Mirror that she always thought Abhay was 'the most talented actor' and that they had stayed in touch even when 'he was in Spain shooting for Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara'. "He said something weird about my dad.
I didn't like it. But to be honest, it's between my dad and Abhay," said the same actress who had earlier expressed her shock over Abhay's comments about Anil Kapoor .
The actress who clearly stays separate from her father's affairs also stated that being a star kid has not really helped her in her career. "My dad is crazy.
He thinks I am headstrong. But I always have this thing.
..
I have to do everything on my own," she added. But when it comes to dressing (and that is one thing she does really well), Sonam is totally dependent on her sister Rhea.
"My Players look is completely Rhea. I gave her a brief that I want to look sexy but not 'nanga'.
I am all covered up in the film and yet I look sexy. The entire credit goes to Rhea," said the actress.
While her style quotient has remained a constant, the roles she has played have been extremely diverse. From intense drama in her debut Saawariya to a rom-com I Hate Luv Storys and now the action packed Players, was the choice intentional? "No one has ever asked me this before," said a surprised Sonam and added, "I love the fact that directors feel I can do everything.
I'm glad to get all kind of roles. I get to wear Indian clothes as well as western.
It's exhilarating. I have multiple personality so I can play multiple genres.
And though I am not very intelligent, there is a little bit of thought that goes behind my choice of films."
(less)Riteish, Genelia's love story in their own words
Here's a flashback into the prem kahani that has never been told. The first meeting Riteish: I was flying to Hyderabad for the test shoot of Tujhe Meri Kasam and I was told that the girl opposite me would be there.
I walked out of the airport and met Genelia's mom. Then I saw this tall girl looking in the opposite direction, completely ignoring me.
I was like, 'Why is she behaving like this?' Genelia (butts in): I did say, 'Hi!' I'd found out two days before that he was the Chief Minister's son so I assumed he was a spoilt brat..
. a typical politician's son.
..
so I thought I'd give him attitude before he did! (laughs) Otherwise, I am shy and reserved by nature. Breaking the ice Genelia: The minute I spoke to him, I realised he was a nice person.
On the set, Riteish binds people. I didn't know anything about films then but he made it look so easy.
Also I found it endearing how he was so respectful of my parents and elders. Riteish: Itni taareef maine apne bare mein itne saalon mein nahin suni hai! Woh pehli baar.
..
Riteish: We started working as strangers, then began understanding each other. Off the sets we soon became best friends.
I would discuss architecture with her while she would discuss college and exams with me! The beauty of a relationship is when you get used to a person; it is not sudden. It is just a process, and you don't realise when love happens.
After I came back from the Hyderabad schedule, I started missing her. I wondered whether it was right to call her or not.
That dilemma lasted for a few days. Genelia: I was completely floored by Riteish's personality.
I think guys like him are rare in today's world. I love listening to him and enjoy his views.
Falling in love was gradual. Every stage was played out very correctly - be it friends, be it best friends or life partners.
Confessing love Riteish: There was no great realisation of love overnight, nor were there any great declarations. It was understood.
We didn't need to tell each other anything. We were together for days, which went into months and then years.
Genelia: The gradual development of our love was so unbelievable that it surprised us. We just grew together.
The best part is that we've never stopped being friends no matter how much our relationship has grown. The romantic one Riteish: Neither of us are terribly romantic people, but we believe in special moments.
Small things that have happened unknowingly have become romantic moments. Like this year on New Year's night, we suddenly decided to stop at a coffee shop at 11.
30 pm and spend some time together. We try and find happiness in small things.
Genelia: We enjoy life and each other's company. We have a great time over coffee.
My world is very small - it includes my parents, Riteish and a couple of friends. When you keep your world so precise, you know what your priorities are.
Him and her Riteish: She is my flag-bearer. I draw unconditional support and love from her.
Genelia's love holds me together and to understand her love is something else. It is amazing.
Genelia: I love Riteish. He lets me be.
He encourages and pushes me. He's proud of me and he's such a secure person.
At times, I get cranky but he's always cool and handles things with maturity. I also love the way he conducts life and his willingness to listen first and then speak.
I hate you Riteish: I hate her memory! While there are certain things I may want to forget, she remembers everything. With time, some things need to be forgotten! Genelia: What I don't like about him is that he the world's busiest man.
Even on a holiday he will manage to be busy! He will call and tell me he has these meetings and can meet me in between. Fight club Riteish: We hardly fight.
We have differences of opinion. I goof up most of the time but we never yell at each other.
I am usually the one to make up first. To make up with a girl is an ever-evolving process! Genelia: I wait for Riteish to sort it out.
The proposal Genelia: He hasn't proposed as yet..
. (giggles) Riteish: It's an arranged marriage, so there was no need to propose formally.
No proposal! Riteish: I have always been weak-kneed in front of her (smiles)! Shaadi ke din bache hai na - kar doonga main propose tab! She was a teenager when we started dating, and I was in my 20s. We have grown up together, having gone from being really childish to having a sense of maturity.
Genelia: Formal proposals are mere rituals. It's important to be happy with the person you are with.
The engagement Genelia: There's no sparkler (she shows her bare fingers). He's given himself to me, so that's fine.
Riteish is my biggest and only sparkler. Riteish: Shaadi se pehle de doonga! Shaadi ke baad Riteish: Agar yeh kaam nahi karegi toh ghar kaise chalega? (laughs) Every decision that's been made has been hers, but Genelia has always been gracious enough to discuss it with me.
So whether she wants to work in films or not is up to her. Whatever she decides is okay with me.
Genelia: He's always told me that it is my decision whether I want to work after marriage or not. Of course, I will prioritise my work differently post marriage.
I don't want to be part of the rat race, but I do want to be part of something good
(less)Kareena is magic: Imran Khan
"She is like a light bulb. The second the director says 'action', this light comes up and you can't take your eyes off her.
She is magic," Imran said on the sidelines of an event here. Imran's crackling chemistry with Kareena in the promos of Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu is there for all to see.
In fact, he was so much in awe of the 31-year-old stunner that he ended up taking almost 100 pictures of Kareena during the film shoot. Producer Karan Johar has suggested he exhibit the pictures soon.
Even when Imran was asked to choose the most stylish actress of B-Town, he was quick to respond, and said: "I think my vote goes to Kareena." Produced by Karan Johar, Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu is directed by Shakun Batra and will release around Valentine's Day next year.

Tweet
(less)I'm getting more time to promote Mausam: Sonam
It's absolutely fine if the release date got pushed by a week. We have worked very hard and we are waiting for the film to release for a long time.
Another seven days don't matter," Sonam told IANS. The directorial debut of eminent actor Pankaj Kapoor, Mausam features Sonam as a Kashmiri girl who falls in love with a Punjabi boy, Shahid Kapoor.
The Indian Air Force (IAF) had raised an objection to a 30-second scene in the film. Though the censor board had given a U-certificate to the film, IAF had given a conditional No Objection Certificate (NOC) as they wanted that 30-second sequence to be corrected.
Getting the NOC from IAF after correction was too late to send prints overseas, which compelled the makers to postpone release from Sep 16 to Sep 23. The actress, who made her debut in acting with filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Saawariya opposite Ranbir Kapoor, describes Mausam as her first true love story.
"I have never done a perfect love story. The film is about two people who want to be together.
Here both of them love each other. I have never done a love story where both of them love each other," said the actress who featured in films like Delhi-6 , I Hate Luv Storys , Aisha and Thank You .
Sonam, daughter of actor Anil Kapoor, is confident she would sustain long in the industry. "I know that I am here to stay.
I work very hard and hopefully I would be here for a long time," said the 26-year-old. Tweet
(less)I highly recommend marriage to everyone: Avantika Malik
. Avantika Malik and Imran Khan completed one year of marriage last week.
But there were no surprises for her. She's known her beau-turned-husband for 10 years.
They even lived together for a year in Los Angeles when he was training to be an actor. Soon after the wedding the young couple moved out of their family home, which is currently being renovated, and are living in a teenie (well, by their standards) apartment like any other working couple next door.
They don't even have a live-in maid. In her first-ever interview, Avantika talks about the highs and lows, getting along with her hubby's co-stars, and getting back to work.
Are you Avantika Malik, Avantika Khan or Avantika Malik Khan? I am Avantika Malik. One thing you discovered about Imran after marriage? Nothing.
I've known him for too long, so the only surprise was how easy marriage is if you meet the right person. I feel very blessed and lucky.
And I highly recommend marriage to everyone. Is Imran a better husband or boyfriend? He's a better husband, there's no doubt about it.
He's fantastic. He's the best person to live with because he is able to be with you and be supportive, but also gives you tremendous space.
He really looks after me, I have to give him that. Especially when we were moving into our own space and I was really nervous.
I have lived in my mom's house all my life, except for the year-and-a-half in LA as a student, so there were no responsibilities. I was nervous about whether I would be able to run a house, but he was very supportive of me, and in everything that I have chosen to do or not do.
Most actors have an entourage around them. Imran doesn't.
Is that him or you? I think it's both of us. But it's him first.
He's so regular. Our intimate group of friends are people who have been with us since school and college.
We have made many friends in the industry, but our core group remains the same. And we both like it that way.
He doesn't like to surround himself by people who constantly tell him how great he is, because that can make you lose touch with reality. I am so grateful he's that way.
We are a normal young couple, as normal as you can be with him being a movie star. Is it difficult being married to a movie star? He could have been a banker or a lawyer, it's just his work.
I am an ordinary girl in love with a boy who happens to be a movie star. It's very consuming work and it does take away from his life in a way while he is making a film, as it should be.
I don't think there is any other way to do it. I just feel like I fell in love with this boy 10 years ago, he was a 19-20 then, and though he's grown tremendously in many ways, his core being is still the same.
I will give him a lot of credit too, as when Jaane Tu..
. Ya Jaane Na was releasing, we were thinking about when we should get married because we had been together for so long.
And I remember my mother-in-law telling me, 'Wait for two years. Right now he's just started, you have to see what happens with fame and success and how you both handle it as a couple.
' I give Imran a lot of credit because he hasn't changed in any way. Except that he's more confident as he knows what he's achieved.
Is there any part of his career that you don't like? Just that I feel a lot of time he's just gone! But right now since you have no kids, you can travel and be with him, no? True, but I have a routine here, things that I like doing and I have an entire world of my own that I enjoy. So I would feel very inadequate if I gave that up and just left.
How do you deal with the highs and lows he goes through as an actor? The kind of person he is, he handles it with aplomb. His career started off on a major high and he saw tremendous success with Jaane Tu.
..
but he handled it beautifully. At no point did he lose his grounding.
For me, his lows were heartbreaking. I am very protective about him.
I see all the things that are so great about him that when someone else can't see them it bothers me. When people would write things about him that are untrue, or give him bad reviews, I would get very worked up.
In fact his mom and I were discussing this, when he was having a hard time, he was taking care of me not the other way around..
So now the negative stories don't upset me the way they used to in the beginning. Now he's had a successful year and I hope that they continue in life so there's a balance.
How is he on a Friday before release? He's calm, cool, collected, sleeping, and eating normally. And me? Not sleeping, not eating, really nervous, running up and down.
He is Zen! He's like now I have done the work. I have done my bit in the film and promoting it, so now jo hota hai dekhenge.
..
Lot of star wives get involved their husbands work like designing their clothes, or managing their dates or producing films etc, have you considered that? As far as being involved in his career, the extent of it is we have a discussion if it's a big decision which will affect everyone. But ultimately he's a decision maker, whether he should do a film or not do a film.
And I like to keep my life separate from his as much as possible. What about producing films? I have always wanted to produce films and I will do that.
But it won't necessarily mean it will be because of Imran or because he's in my film. I want to produce films, I am very clear, as I believe I have a keen understanding of films; I have produced films in the past.
And I feel like there were a lot of things that were happening there, corporate set up and things had to be done in a certain way. There were a lot of things I was keen on that didn't happen, but I feel like I developed a sense and feel for films.
Now it comes instinctively to me. You can't be married to someone who is deeply entrenched in films and not love it yourself.
I think that would be difficult. I want to produce films I am just waiting for the house to get ready.
My mom-in-law is working, Imran is working, so I am the only one who is overseeing the work right now, so I don't want to lose track. But by the end of the year, I would like to get back to work.
You reaction to his kissing and intimate scenes in films is..
..
(laughs) I can't remember the first time he had a kissing scene. In Jaane Tu.
..
there was one peck with Manjiri, and I was so worked up because then it was all too new for me and I was like how will things go, this that, but now I am fine. It's his work and I know him so well.
..
He told me it's not the most comfortable thing in the world, it's quite uncomfortable, there are 100 of people, retakes, so no matter what you might imagine, that it's exciting, it's very uncomfortable and it's part of his job. Which of his co-stars are you friends with? You won't believe this but I like all of them.
If you ask me who I am very friendly with then, it has to be Deepika and Sonam. Because we are almost the same age, and we were all a gang during I Hate Luv storys and Break Ke Baad, and we had a blast making those two films.
But I cannot tell you how wonderful all of them have been to me and am being very honest. Genelia, Deepika, Sonam, Katrina and Kareena they have all been really wonderful.
And everyone asks me, 'You don't feel insecure, upset that he's working with these gorgeous women because they are all so stunning.' And I give him credit, as I know how he's so faithful but also these girls have been really lovely to me and we should give them some credit some times.
Is Imran the perfectionist like his uncle Aamir? No. actually he's quite easy going.
Hes particular about his work and certain things. I know he's made jokes about these things, but how his things are lined up in the bathroom.
And he's very particular about these things. He's a very good boy.
But the human being that he is, they don't make men like him anymore, they just don't. And I keep telling him that for me the most important thing I love about him is that he's a good person.
I have seen him grow as an actor and I know he puts his everything into it and if you are honest to your work eventually you will achieve whatever you want. What do you guys fight about most? We don't really fight that much.
Considering I am a feisty person, I think he just knows how to handle me. (laughs) We fight about silly things like how much time he spends on the ipad or things like that.
But no major conflict. His most annoying habit? Ipad! Phone! Computer! I think he's addicted to the internet and he is Mr.
Know it all. Like if you ask him Imran how do you fix this? He will be like give me a second! And start typing.
He will Google everything, we should make him the brand ambassador of Google. Which film of Imran's is your favourite? It would be hard to pick between Jaane Tu and Delhi Belly because Jaane Tu he had this incredible boyish charm and looked so good.
In DB he was scruffy and with stubble..
I am caught between whether I like him more as the cute chocolate boy or huis grungy look. I love them both.
That's the best part of being married to an actor is that I come out of a theatre and have a crush on him all over again. It's an incredible feeling, after 10 years of togetherness to watch a film of his and find him so good looking and charming and sexy, and it's like falling in love all over again.
It has happened to me with most of his films. Can't conclude without asking any plans to start a family? Not for a while! When it happens organically, it will.
Is there any part of his career that you don't like? Just that I feel a lot of time he's just gone! Like if he is shooting for six months in Agra or Delhi, he's not here. For Mere Brother Ki Dulhan he was gone for three months straight.
I have a routine, my own life and I cannot possibly just leave to be with him for months wherever he goes..
. and that distance is something I don't like.
Now again he has to go for Vishal's (Bhardwaj) film..
But right now since you have no kids, you can travel and be with him, no? True, but I have a routine here, things that I like doing and I have an entire world of my own that I enjoy. So I would feel very inadequate if I gave that up and just left.

(less)Priyanka Chopra puts Barfee in slo-mo
And despite their efforts, the team struggled to reach the finish line with only two out of the three lead actors. While Ranbir Kapoor and Ileana D Cruz did their part, Priyanka Chopra , who plays an autistic girl Jhilmil in the film, was conspicuous by her absence.
Mumbai Mirror has learnt that because of this erratic date issues of the actor, the film that was supposed to go on floors in March this year and finally managed to kickstart a few months later, is just about 25 per cent complete. Industry insiders reveal that the shoot of the film has been primarily affected by Priyanka's constant date problems.
And though, the film unit is just about 'managing' with the rest of the cast, director Basu chooses to be diplomatic. "Priyanka is not to be blamed for the delay.
She had given us her dates a few months back. It was the extension of Imtiaz Ali's Rockstar that affected Barfee's schedule.
Priyanka and Ranbir had to shoot their scenes together, but due to Rockstar promotions, which Ranbir had to be a part of, things got delayed. Priyanka then went to the US to record her album," explained Basu.
Basu further added, "When Priyanka returned to India, she had prior commitments to keep. She has given us whatever dates she possibly could.
But her dates are in separate blocks. Meanwhile, we are completing the parts which require only Ranbir and Ileana.
We had to reschedule the entire shoot." Just like Basu explained, the sets in Film City have been created for multiple usage.
So while the wooden house is where Priyanka's character Jhilmil studies, the bakery is where the other characters meet. The real Darjeeling will however, not have to wait too long.
"We are expecting to go to the hill station with Priyanka and Ranbir in February," revealed Basu. And for that, we believe Basu will have to wait.
Priyanka, his lead actress, having returned from the US, is currently shooting for Kunal Kohli's film in Mumbai
(less)Priyanka Chopra refuses to return to Barfee
The actress is currently busy recording and organising the release of her debut music album in North America. Basu's repeated efforts to convince the actress to return and complete the schedule have fallen on deaf ears.
The actress has informed the Barfee makers that she would only be able to allot dates for the schedule in January next year. Priyanka's sudden passion for music seems to have left co-actors Ileana D'Cruz and Ranbir Kapoor with very little to do.
A source informed Mumbai Mirror, "Ileana has gone back to her parents' place to spend some quality time with them. Still, Priyanka's cancellation of dates has inconvenienced Ileana quite a bit.
" "Ranbir too was supposed to shoot scenes with Priyanka in the next couple of days. However, since she isn't coming back to the sets of Barfee for the time being, Ranbir has decided to spend all that time promoting his next film Rockstar," added the source.
Basu too seems to be helpless in front of Priyanka's musical inclinations. "How much can Anurag tell her? Beyond a point, he too had to stop asking her," informed the source and added, "Priyanka was supposed to return last weekend.
The shoot was supposed to start by the end of this month as planned." However, things cannot go as planned anymore.
"Priyanka will not shoot for Barfee before January 2012. She has allotted fresh dates for the film.
Let's hope that she sticks to her word this time. This is not the first time Priyanka has been difficult with her dates for the film," said another source.
Earlier, the film had a delayed start due to Priyanka's date issues. The actress, who had chosen to shoot three films simultaneously, was busy dividing her time between Karan Johar's Agneepath, Kunal Kohli's film with Shahid Kapoor and Barfee.
In July 2011, Basu was even heard telling a section of the media, "Priyanka has been really busy, but these things happen. Schedules clash.
We just shot one schedule in Mumbai without her." This time however, Basu, chose to remain silent.
Priyanka too did not revert to our calls or text messages. However, her spokesperson claimed, "Not true.
PC's schedule remains the same. There is no change and no extension"
(less)Imran is loyal: Karan Johar
(Read Luck and Kidnap) Imran is back to Dharma's staple with 'Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu' in which he will be seen with Kareena Kapoor. On casting Imran, Karan Johar said, 'Imran is in-house, loyal, productive and energetic.
Its great to have him back, he is a promising actor." Karan has maintained his take on Imran from day one.
Imran reciprocated by stating, "It's wonderful to be back. I am pampered every time I work with Dharma, in fact I am taken for granted when I work with family but these guys are really great.
"
(less)Ayan Mukerji's film delayed by 3 months
Thanks to lead actor Ranbir Kapoor's other project Barfee. An entire schedule of the Anurag Basu directorial venture starring Ranbir Kapoor , Priyanka Chopra and Ileana D'Cruz has been delayed.
A source informed us, "Ayan was all set to go on floors right after Rockstar releases. However, now he will have to wait for at least three months.
Ranbir has been stuck with the shoot of Anurag Basu's Barfee. He has given the dates for Ayan's film in January.
" "Barfee has been quite a difficult film to shoot. The crew had various problems as their schedule had gone haywire more than once.
Priyanka also had date problems since she was shooting for Kunal Kohli's film," added the source. While Karan Johar and Ayan Mukerji chose not to reply to our query, a source close to Ranbir said, "Ayan Mukerji's film is starting way ahead of time.
Ayan is still finalising the script details. Ranbir was supposed to start the film after Rockstar.
So he is starting first week of January. No delay from Ranbir's end at all.
At least not because of Barfee." So has the film been delayed due to Priyanka Chopra's date problems? "No, it's not true," said Barfee director Anurag Basu and added, "We started late because of her commitments, yes.
But now, she is shooting with me and her dates are with Barfee only."
(less)Imran Khan to send staff on a holiday in Las Vegas

(less)Anurag Basu wants to work with Sabyasachi Chakrabarty
"I really wanted Benuda to play the role. But we couldn't adjust the dates.
Priyanka is doing quite a number of movies and it's not easy to work out her dates. Finally, we cast Ashis Vidyarthi in the role.
He has done a good job," says Anurag. As for the director returning to the Bengali small screen again as a host, there is still no word on it.
"Ever since I hosted a show on television "Ke Hobe Biggest Fan", I haven't got any new offers in Kolkata. In Mumbai, I have offers to judge shows but right now, I am too busy with other work," he adds
(less)Hrithik hospitalised in Breach Candy with bad back | Bollywood News and Gossip
The shoot of the film directed by Karan Malhotra has been cancelled until Hrithik gets back on his feet. Hrithik was spotted at Breach Candy Hospital undergoing MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging).
A source informed, “The actor entered the hospital, visibly in a lot of pain. The doctors attended to him almost immediately.
” However, senior radiologist Dr Anirudh Kohli from Breach Candy Hospital refused to divulge the details of the various tests conducted on Roshan Jr. “I cannot share any information about my patients since there is a privacy issue,” said Kohli.
Another official from the hospital (name withheld on request) said, “We have been strictly told not to talk about Hrithik to anybody.” While the hospital officials refused to part with information on the actor’s health, a source revealed, “Hrithik was supposed to lift a burly fighter, who weighs nearly 110 kg during the Agneepath shoot.
This is a very important scene in the film. Perhaps he got a little carried away and decided to do it himself (without using a body double).
Kar to diya lekin uske immediately baad uske back mein bahut dard hone laga.” “He was in a lot of pain and needed medical help.
Lifting 110 kilos of a man obviosuly put a lot of pressure on Hrithik’s back,” added the source. When contacted, Hrithik’s father, Rakesh Roshan, said, “Fighter ke scene ka koi problem nahin hua.
Hrithik has been working almost continuously on his TV show Just Dance and Karan Johar’s film Agneepath. He is back home, he just needs a little rest since he is overworked.
” Hrithik Roshan remained unavailable for comment. Karan Johar too did not reply to our text message.
According to sources, a song and a few important scenes of Agneepath still remain to be shot. Sphere: Related Content Posted in

Fortunately, the shoot was nearing its end, and he was rushed to the hospital. Garima Sharma
(less)Sanjay Dutt shoots despite wound
"Sanjay Dutt is waiting for Rana to shoot their combination shots. I've almost competed my shooting with Sanjay Dutt.
His part is incomplete because of Rana who doesn't have time," says Ramu. "Sanjay is shooting with me in spite of a wounded hand.
He has an infection on his right hand. The hand is bandaged and he is shooting keeping the hand out of camera range," he adds.
Director Karan Johar is so impressed by Dutt's villainous act in Dharma Production's Agneepath that he wants more of him. "The success of Dutt's look and presence in the Agneepath trailer has prompted some quick re-thinking at Dharma Productions.
They've asked Dutt for extra dates for a song that they want to shoot," says a source. Tweet
(less)Old so Gold!
And these words hold so true for some of our Bollywood actors as well. It is not just Ranbir, Imran, Katrina or Kareena (and so many other young stars) we like to see on the 70mm screen, we also love to watch actors who have crossed the half century of their lives.
This love shows in the number of movies that these actors do; and in the prominence of their roles. Whether it is veterans like Dharmendra (Yamla Pagla Deewana, Tell Me O Kkhuda), Rishi Kapoor (Patiala House, Agneepath.
Housefull-2), Vinod Khanna (Dabangg, Tell Me O Kkhuda), Naseeruddin Shah (That Girl In Yellow Boots, Michael); or actresses like Dimple Kapadia (Patiala House, Dabangg, Society Kaam Se Gayi), Shabana Azmi (Gangs of Wasseypur, Midnight's Children), Supriya Pathak (Mausam) amongst others, we still enjoy watching them recite those dialogues and shake a leg on screen. Even if it is about a show on television, these stars manage to garner TRPs much more than the younger generation.
Even in the recent past, we have seen actresses like Waheeda Rehman in Delhi-6 and Sharmila Tagore in Break Ke Baad in the same grace and beauty as before. Someone has rightly said, beauty increases with age.
And the talent and experience helps, of course!
(less)Riya Sen refuses to shoot item song
Riya says this is all a publicity gimmick. Shah recalled: "Riya Sen had signed on to do an item song .
We had recorded a really zingy song Uchal gayee chamiya kunwaron ke beech mein . Jayesh Pradhan who did the choreography in Aarakashan was supposed to choreograph Riya's number.
Everything was finalised, "She claimed she was unwell and could not rehearse for the item song. Then she showed up for just one shot.
I agreed since Arunoday had to leave (for a family event in the US). But then she refused to talk to the media.
" The director was left nervous. "I'm a new director.
This is all very new and embarrassing for me. My producer has suffered losses of at least 70-80 lakh because of this.
I don't know how I will shoot the song now. "Arunoday has gone for a month.
When he returns he immediately starts shooting for Madhur Bhandarkar's Heroine . My mentor Gulzar Saab had worked with the great Suchitra Sen.
Look at what I had to go through on my birthday with her granddaughter!" added Shah. An upset and ill Riya had another story to tell.
"This is all a publicity gimmick, as far as I can see. Ishraq Shah is a new director.
I helped him out by agreeing to do the song. Besides, I thought the song was nice and I could use it in my shows.
"According to the contract, we were supposed to shoot on 4th and 5th October. He requested me to come for the shoot on the 3rd because he said Arunoday was leaving the same night for the US.
I agreed out of kindness, although I've been unwell. But at the shoot there was pure chaos.
"There was a very strange set of media persons at the shoot whom I had never seen before. They kept coming in front of the camera while we were shooting.
The director asked me to speak to the media. I refused.
"Please understand I wasn't even supposed to shoot on Monday. Is this what I get for my kindness? Why use my name for publicity?" Riya is also upset with veteran actor-filmmaker Dev Anand for allegating against her on her latecoming ways for his film Chargesheet .
"We recently had Dev Anand being quoted against me. I shot for his Chargesheet three years ago.
If he had a problem with me, why didn't he speak earlier? Why at the time of release?" Last heard, Riya's mother Moon Moon Sen was trying for a patch up between her daughter and Shah. Tweet
(less)Imran Khan not in favour of remakes
If I feel that I loved a particular movie, then I would like to see the hero of that film only doing that role. I watch 'Sholay' for Amitabh Bachchan and Dharmendra.
I wouldn't like anyone else doing that," the 28-year-old told IANS. He has similar thoughts about sequels.
"Sometimes people make sequels unnecessarily..
.just because the film has worked.
If it has a scope, like if it's an action film or a superhero film, then I can understand. But it should not be made without a reason," he said the actor who has done films like "Jaane Tu.
..
Yaa Jaane Na", "I Hate Luv Storys", "Break Ke Baad" and "Delhi Belly". On his professional front, Imran is looking forward to the release of "Mere Brother Ki Dulhan"
(less)Kareena is magic: Imran Khan
"She is like a light bulb. The second the director says 'action', this light comes up and you can't take your eyes off her.
She is magic," Imran said on the sidelines of an event here. Imran's crackling chemistry with Kareena in the promos of "Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu" is there for all to see.
In fact, he was so much in awe of the 31-year-old stunner that he ended up taking almost 100 pictures of Kareena during the film shoot. Producer Karan Johar has suggested he exhibit the pictures soon.
Even when Imran was asked to choose the most stylish actress of B-Town, he was quick to respond, and said: "I think my vote goes to Kareena." Produced by Karan Johar, "Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu" is directed by Shakun Batra and will release around Valentine's Day next year
(less)I’ve shown boys the middle finger: Sonam Kapoor
..
says actor Sonam Kapoor , in defence of the clip in her latest film that has been censored, which shows her giving someone the finger She can easily be described as the candid Kapoor, with her penchant for telling it like it is. In a chat with BT, Sonam talks about her Hollywood aspirations, reuniting with Abhay Deol onscreen and more.
We will see you in a different avatar in your upcoming film. Tell us what it was like playing this outspoken character.
Every character is a challenge and this was just fun. I am outspoken as a person and I just had to take how I am in real life and make it larger than life.
The script was so beautifully written that there wasn't much that I needed to do. In terms of styling, we padded the character a lot.
There was uproar over the middle-finger scene in the film, which has been blurred by the Censor Board. I think it is no big deal.
It is a part of our lingo and most youngsters do it these days. I have shown it to a lot of boys back home who tried to act smart (laughs) with me.
You said recently that you don't have a bikini body. How did that come about? Everybody just went on how hot I am and that I should wear a bikini.
Honestly, I was just being modest. I don't have Bipasha's body.
Will you don a bikini sometime soon, as it is the flavour of the season? I always do things that are not the flavour of the season. And that's why people like me.
Mausam, despite being a great story, did not do well at the box office. Were you disappointed? I am used to people loving what I do in a film, and the film itself not doing well.
I have three films that have done really, really well, so three out of six is not so bad and hopefully, my next film will even out the odds. After the success of I Hate Luv Storys, director Punit Malhotra has planned another film with you and Shahid in mind.
..
Yes, I heard about that, but I'm not doing Punit's film. Will you be reuniting with Abhay Deol soon onscreen? A couple of directors have offered us scripts for films that feature us together, but Raj Kumar Santoshi's is the best.
It's so much fun and I am dying to do this film. It's only Abhay and me talking throughout the film and it's brilliant.
There were differences between your father and Abhay Deol. Any comments? No comment, because it was between my father and Abhay.
How was your meeting with Tom Cruise ? He is so beautiful looking, very sweet and it was lovely interacting with someone who is so modest and down-to-earth. He looks you in the eye, and gives you that much attention.
Your father has already consolidated his position in Hollywood. Do you also have Hollywood aspirations? I have aspirations to conquer the world.
Let's see what happens. There must have been discussions about a Hollywood debut for you after your meeting with Tom.
..
It doesn't work like that. You audition for roles and you get them, just like in Bollywood.
Critics have taken digs at your father's cameo in Mission: Impossible 4..
. He always said it was a cameo.
My dad has been in the industry for 30 years. I don't think anybody has done the kind of roles he's done.
The exposure he's gotten in M:I4 is amazing. I think most critics are just jealous.
Who do you count as your friends in the industry? Asin. (pauses) And Jacqueline (Fernandez)

Tweet
