Azim looks up to Salman, SRK and Aamir Khan
To make his character in "Qasam Se Qasam Se" appear realistic, Azim frequented call centre offices to absorb the finer nuances of the people working there. "It was quite a relevation for me as an actor.
I witnessed not only people's mannerisms but also the activities they indulge in during the break hour. Looking into the mirror, some guys would be busy ruffling their hair and taking care of their looks, while some would busy binging.
And there would others catching up with family and friends over their cell phones. This has helped shaped my character in the film.
" Azim feels that all our veteran actors were keen observers and would translate that on screen. "Whether it were the legendary actors like Dilip Kumar or the late Raj Kapoor or Dev Anand , they were schools in themselves.
I am a great fan of Salman Khan , Shah Rukh Khan and Aamir Khan and look at them as a student who looks upon his guru. I am mastering the art of acting watching their films," he smiles

My absolute must haves are browns, bronze and red shades of make-up, as they give my skin tone a very nice shine and suit me very well. I always carry these colors in my bag because I never know when I might show up at an event and feel completely under-dressed.
Also, any of these shades really adds that extra glow."

(less)I never thought I'd be a desirable woman: Sameera Reddy
"My name in the list means a lot to me. As as a young girl, I never thought even in my wildest dreams that I would become a desirable woman.
I yearned for a perfect body as I was ugly duckling in school. But now that I have entered films, I believe that beauty is hidden in the imperfections of people and it all depends on how you use them.
That's my definition of desirable and I am glad to have made it to the list," says Sameera. The actor is basking in the success of her last Tamil release opposite Madhavan and has Padma Shri Priyadarshan's Tezz to look forward to.
Sameera has now decided that she will do a mix of performance-oriented and glamorous characters on screen, something that Simran and Jyothika did in Kollywood. So is the report true that Sameera wants to become the next Simran and Jyothika? "You cannot become another person.
I had said that I look up to both Simran and Jyothika, who had a mixed bag of roles- performance-oriented and cute characters. Both had their own fan following .
They are my role models and I want to have a beautiful lineup of characters like them," says the actor
(less)Sherlyn Chopra likes being unconventional
Be it politics, cinema, sports, business or any other arena, women across the globe including India are in great form mentally, physically and consciously to undertake greater responsibilities and tougher challenges that are often encountered on paths less travelled." Sherlyn is also happy that she has gone from being just a pin-up girl to an entrepreneur.
Says she, "The rapid metamorphosis in my case would not have been possible had the mindsets of the majority of the people in the Hindi film industry continued to be goverened by prejudices. I look upto entrepreneurs who command respect and attention for daring to think out of the box and act accordingly.
They do not have a herd mentality. What they have is unadulterated creativity which is set on fire by courage.
" Naming films like " The Dirty Picture ", " Erin Brokovich ", " No One Killed Jessica "," The Black Swan " as cinema that has changed the way we think, Sherlyn says, "Unconventionality is no longer a taboo. It is being applauded and celebrated by both the classes and the masses.
The pulse of the youth is racing towards liberalisation. And I'm truly loving it.
" Asked why she decided to give us photographs that resembled those of the " Jism 2 " campaign, the actor quips, "I have pushed the envelope by choosing to cover my nakedness with nothing but pure consciousness."

If that wasn”t enough she also carried herself on shinning red heels and a matching red color bag. Thankfully Priyanka Chopra and Mugdha Godse too were present and were looking extremely stunning and beautiful.

(less)Flash mob greets Imran at New York University
"I had a blast at NYU. Everyone was so enthusiastic, they put on a very polished, confident show, and the surprise flash mob at the end was perfectly executed.
My best wishes to all the students involved," Imran said in a statement. The students had been practising for the performance for over two weeks, ahead of Imran's visit to New York as part of the promotional tour.
"As the president of NYU Dillagi, a Bollywood dance team, I knew we had to have simpler steps that the general public would be able to do and we sent videos out to the public. I thought that the flash mob came out even better than expected since people kept joining the mob throughout the sequence and it definitely surprised those that did not know of it ahead of time," Mohit Chhatpar, coordinator of the flash mob, said.
"It was really fun to be doing a flash mob and having Imran among us was all the more fun. He was very sporting and interacted with the students.
We are excited about this movie as well and are glad he could come and be among us to talk about his movie," he added. The Dharma Productions' film, also starring Kareena Kapoor, is set to hit theatres Feb 10.

(less)Mohit Suri to direct Aashiqui 2 with fresh faces
"It's been 20 years for that film. So, obviously now I will have to upgrade this story.
It will be the same realistic love story but with a modern theme," Suri told IANS. Aashiqui won critical accolades after its release at the time.
It also catapulted the careers of lead actors Rahul Roy and Anu Agarwal, who forayed into Bollywood with this film. Suri is also set to hunt for new faces for the sequel.
"I will cast fresh faces with a new boy and a new girl," said Mohit. While some are referring to Aashiqui 2 as a sequel, others are calling it a remake.
However, producer Mukesh Bhatt of Vishesh Films sets the record straight. "It is neither a sequel nor a remake.
It can be said as the musical series of Aashiqui ..
.a new generation is making this film," he said.

I won't delay marriage: Vidya Balan
"I play Vidya Bagchi, a pregnant lady in search of her husband. It's a beautiful story, and it was humbling when Sujoy told me he wrote the character keeping me in mind," said Vidya, still basking in the glory of The Dirty Picture.
From wearing a red sari, Vidya is now going around in a pregnant avatar. "It's a good way to make the audience relate to your character and get to know the character better.
If I have acted in a movie, I'll do everything that is required of me to promote it well," she explained. So how tough was it playing preggers? "I've tried to do the best I could.
When I was younger, I had keenly observed how pregnant women walk, and I used to ape them. I'm glad that practice came to some good use now," she laughed.
Talk to her about her love nest gifted to her by Siddharth Roy Kapoor, and she chooses to evade the questions, but says that she believes in the institution of marriage and that a time will come when tying the knot would be the right thing to do. "I'm in a happy space.
I won't delay marriage. I'll give in to it when I'm ready for it.
It's an important institution and would be a very sacred part of my life," said Vidya
(less)Rani Mukerji won't marry an actor
She took this job very seriously because she did not want to let her parents down. She also took it up because she wanted to pull her family out of one of the rockiest patches - financially and emotionally - ever.
Fifteen years hence and innumerable awards and accolades later, her life looks like a fairy tale or a Bollywood script that could not have been written any better. In an industry where the shelf life of an actress is getting shorter by the month - even as actors rule the roost for two decades or more - Rani has seen her fair share of ups and downs that have taught her valuable lessons.
In the last few years, she has faltered in terms of choice of films. But one thing that she hasn't forgotten is to do her job well, i.
e. to act.
She takes it up as seriously as she did during the mahurat shot of "Raja Ki Aayegi Baraat" as a 16-year-old. But today, there's more passion than ever, and a mastery of her craft that compels you to appreciate her skills as an actress, even if you aren't her die-hard fan.
After the success of "No One Killed Jessica" early last year, she is awaiting her next two releases this year - the Reema Kagti-directed thriller "Talaash", with Aamir Khan and Kareena Kapoor and Anurag Kashyap's quirky comedy "Aiyya" directed by National Award winning director Sachin Kundalkar. We ask the 'Queen of Bollywood' about the journey during which her job turned into her passion, the girl Rani morphed into the woman who rules hearts and, of course, a certain someone she "is dating".
What are you doing these days? I've just returned from Lonavala where I was shooting for "Aiyya". A few songs are left.
Has the industry changed since you joined films? Immensely. Today, the first look of the film is almost as important as the film itself.
I'm eagerly waiting for the promos of "Talaash", which are to hit the screens soon. It's going to be released in June.
The fact that I'm doing two films that are as different as they can be, in the same year, speaks volumes about how times have changed. It's a far bigger, more diverse than ever industry that's gone global in terms of its scope in every possible way.
Did you always want to become an actress? Arre, my joining films is a poori filmi kahaani. Though I technically come from a film family, my father had stopped making films even before my brother and I were born.
So I did not really grow up in a filmi environment. And when I was growing up, becoming an actress was still quite a taboo.
And you may not believe this but even my father did not want me to join films. Salim (Akhtar) uncle, who was very close to my family, came with the offer of "Aa Gale Lag Jaa" in 1994, but my father was aghast and turned it down.
In the meantime, I joined college (SNDT, Juhu) pursuing Home Science. Those days, the 'in thing' that most girls were going after as a career choice was jewelery and interior designing.
I did not have the money to pursue a `3 lakh course to make a career. And then Salim uncle came back again.
I think he must have been pretty desperate to launch a new actress. This time, he managed to convince my parents.
How did he manage that? (Laughs) When Salim uncle came to me and said he wanted me to act in his film, I started crying. I thought he was making a pass at me.
..
Why on earth..
.? Because I was daft.
And the fact that in those days, acting was still considered a taboo for the girls in my family. My mom's side was okay with it, as my aunt (Bengali actress Debashree Roy) is an actress.
In fact, she had kept it from me till then, but she was seriously harboring dreams of me becoming an actress. My father was still adamant about me not joining films.
But by that time my second cousins, Kajol and Sharbani, had entered films. And that sort of paved the way for me.
My mother and father still fought over it for quite a few days before he finally agreed to give me at least one shot at it - of course, with the strict clause that my mom will accompany me everywhere. And you? Did you know anything about acting by then? I wish I could show you the recording of my first screen test.
You will literally sprint away from the room thinking 'who is this horrible actress?' What was so bad? Those days, I used to be quite chubby. And Salim uncle, who had done "Baazi" with Mamta Kulkarni a few years ago, fished those shorter-than-short and tighter-than-tight clothes that looked completely hideous on me.
And to top that, I had to act! I was a shy kid with inhibitions galore. It was some courtroom scene and when someone gave me the sheet with dialogues, I was dumbfounded.
I saw all these famous dialogues from famous films which I had to say in front of the camera. My understanding of films was just as much as any young girl who watches Bollywood films.
I had no idea about the whole process of filmmaking, about dialogue writing, scripts, screenplay etc. I had probably gone to two or three film shoots in my childhood.
And even when on a shoot as a young girl, I would find actors just giving their shots and sitting in their vans getting bored in-between shots. So when the whole picture opened up in front of me about the reality of becoming an actress, I was petrified.
And my screen test was a disaster. I came back crying and said 'I would not be able to do this - anything but acting! Then? But Salim uncle came back and said I had a photogenic face and the camera captured me quite well, which is very important for any actor.
That was one glimmer of hope in my otherwise nightmarish experience. My mother sat me down that night and told me, 'Opportunity knocks at your door just once, take it up.
What's the worst that could happen? You'll fail at your effort? We are there after that. But at least you'd know you have tried, and won't regret leaving this golden opportunity'.
And though it was never told to me, but I knew my family was going through a financial crisis. And there was also tension in the family because of a lot of bickering between my father and his brothers.
I decided that I would work very hard (there was a month left for the shoot of "Raja Ki..
.") and give myself one good shot, even if it did not work out in the end.
I took it up as a job that just had to be done. What happened in that one month for you to give that spirited performance? My father took me to join Roshan Taneja's acting classes.
Mr Taneja had two courses, one was a year-long one and the other a three-month one. I had to learn all the acting I could in one month.
I told Mr Taneja I would come in the morning and evening for a month and be a dedicated student. On the very first day, my dad said to him, 'Please teach my daughter how to act'.
Mr Taneja said, 'Acting isn't a tablet. You can't pop it and become an actress.
It has to come from within you. It's either deep within you or it's not there'.
His statement stayed with me for a long time. It was my first lesson.
But in the classes, I did not know where to start. Thankfully, one good thing was the improvisation classes - where we all had to face the camera and say whatever came to our mind and enact a scene.
It sort of broke through my shy exterior. In any acting class, there are always a lot of faces looking at you from all corners and that's done on purpose so that the person drops all his/her inhibitions.
On the day of the mahurat, when I was called to give my first shot, I thought, 'yaar, I can't let my parents down. I just have to give it my best'.
And then, when I walked into the shot, I was this confident, fiery ball of energy, spouting dialogues like I had never imagined I would. I haven't looked back since that day.
And how did this job eventually become your passion? That happened later when I started getting fan mails. I was doing a lot of films.
But my fans kept on writing that they were not happy with me. So I wondered 'Arre, I am working 72 hours at a stretch, not eating right, not getting enough sleep, giving my best to each shot, so what was going wrong?' Then I realized that after "Ghulam" and "Kuch Kuch Hota Hain", my fans' expectations of me were higher than my own.
That's when I learnt my second lesson - that it's not just performing, I also had to know good scripts from the not-so-good ones. I started getting more involved in the whole process; understanding films beyond just acting.
During this whole process, acting became my passion. Coming back to the present, what went wrong in the last couple of years before "No One Killed Jessica" last year? You had some consecutive flops after a spate of hits, and suddenly you just vanished.
..
(Snaps her fingers and says with a smile) Don't worry, from this year, you'll see me in two films every year at least. Coming back to your question, I had seen failures before but when those three films ("Laaga Chunri Mein Daag", "Thoda Pyaar, Thoda Magic" and "Dil Bole Hadippa") failed in quick succession, it affected me in a way no flop had before.
My confidence was completely shattered. All my movies failed to make a mark with audiences and critics alike.
Maybe the critics thought 'we've praised her enough, now it's time for her to fall a bit hard, so she steps her game up' (smiles). I also think I was plain unlucky.
The audience has little memory of what you have done before or are capable of doing. What matters is today.
So three flops probably told them 'Rani has worked so well in the last few years, maybe it's time she took a back seat and settled down'. And are you settling down? (Smile that says read-my-expression-if-you-can) When I plan to settle down, I will announce it to the world.
Marriage is an occasion to celebrate. I'll celebrate it when it happens, letting everyone know about it.
What about the rumors of your relationship with Aditya Chopra? I have been linked with so many of my co-stars and this Aditya rumor has stayed with me for the longest time. This time, I'm going to give you the cliched answer no journalist wants to hear, 'No comments'.
Are you dating someone? Yes, I am dating, but that's as far as I'm willing to talk about my personal life. Your fans want to know about your personal life? They want to know if marriage is on the cards.
They will know when the time comes. Right now, I have two movies coming out and that's what I'm going to talk about.
Are you saying nothing is serious as far as your dating goes? In a relationship, there are two people involved. Since I'm a public figure, if I start answering questions, it'll open doors for more questions, speculations, gossips, and then it comes to a point where every day someone has something to say about your personal life.
It's unfair to the other person. I do not mind a bitchy comment about the way I dress or my films, but a comment on my private space isn't welcome.
Are you a romantic? I'm a born romantic. I romanticize everything in life.
My personal life is full of love and romance. God's given us one life.
You should romance it. It's not always nice and cool to be practical and logical.
What have your relationships/ heartbreaks taught you? I haven't been in a lot of relationships. Heartbreak definitely teaches you to be a better actor.
Don't they say, an artiste always performs better when he or she has experienced heartbreak? (Laughs) That was a joke. I don't give that much importance to men.
All my heartbreaks have been because of close friends, and not men. Seriously? (On a serious note) Heartbreak, anger, frustration - if you can overcome these emotions, you become a better person.
If you're a person of substance, you'll overcome your bad times. Who wants to be a loser? Will you marry an actor? No, two megalomaniacs can't exist in the same house.
We'll end up killing each other. What's the best thing about being in a relationship? (Enigmatic smile) That you can hide it.
And the best part of getting married is that you can announce it to the world. What about the fact that today the shelf life of actresses is low? Would you ever decide to do an item number or attend red carpet events as visibility is important these days? No.
Because for me, it's important to cement an impression of my work. Acting is what I do best.
It's not difficult to be in the public eye. Go anywhere and you'll find the media.
I am not trying to sound high and mighty here. If I was being launched today, I would do exactly what newcomers do these days.
But after 15 years in the course of which I have firmly established my credentials as an actress, I plan to only focus on acting. But if friends call me, I'll be there.
Like I went to Farah's (Khan) house-warming party recently. Aamir (Khan) and Kiran (Rao) had a son and going there was important for me because he is someone who is very dear to me.
As are Shah Rukh Khan and Karan (Johar). Have you spoken to Abhishek after he became a father? We aren't in touch on the phone, but whenever I come across him, I will definitely congratulate him.
It's great news. What did that low phase in your life teach you? When I was joining films, my dad had told me, 'Don't ever be disheartened with failure and don't be over-excited with success'.
This is an important lesson in any actor's life. But can you really separate your emotions as professional and personal in your mind? Hurt is hurt, disappointment is disappointment.
..
That's where your family and your strength as an individual come in. I am very close to my family.
And I have other interests, like baking. I started baking in one of my very low phases in life.
I find it therapeutic. So, would we see a Rani Mukerji patisserie soon? You could.
I'm serious about going to Paris or Chicago for a fulltime patisserie course. Any other venture in mind? A lot of actresses are starting their own fashion lines.
Or maybe even film production..
. No.
The only thing I will be producing next is babies. No other production happening with me.
Is there a lot of bitching/backbiting in the industry? There is, but that's true of any industry where over-competitive minds are always at work. But it is blown out of proportion in ours because it's the glamor industry.
Have you been at the receiving end of bitching? People say bitchy things about other people to feel good about themselves. Whatever I have got in life has been a huge blessing.
I've never gone after something that's not mine. Today, I am sitting at my office in Juhu, overlooking the sea.
I used to live in a shack before. I used to travel in rickshaws.
Today, I have a Mercedes. But if I start thinking, 'I have a bungalow, why not a building in Bandra tomorrow? Or now, I have a car, why not a yacht next?' my life will be difficult.
My mind doesn't work that way. The only ambition I have is to pick up interesting scripts and give a stellar performance that'll be etched in the audiences' and my fans' minds

At the place where the event was held, there were three lounges, and Kim was resting in one of the lounges, waiting for the Wendell Rodericks show to commence. As luck would have it, Yuvraj too landed at the same lounge where the actress was present and on seeing her, he pulled a face and left the lounge.
Apparently the southpaw also asked his friends at the show to get him into a different lounge. Yuvi's behavior didn't go down too well with Kim, we hear.
The actress remained unavailable for comments. Meanwhile, Yuvraj took to the social networking site Twitter to set the records straight, claiming that the reports about him running away were false.
He said that he didn't run away but watched the fashion show and then returned home. "Incorrect news! Did not run away, did not run out of the lounge! Saw the show and happily came back home!" tweeted Yuvraj.

(less)Dus ka Dum – Katrina & Akshay | Bollywood News and Gossip
Akshay is wearing the horrendous leopard skin shirt, while Katrina appears in a pink and green salwar suit. The show starts with the two guys hugging and Salman praising Akshay’s punctuality, and other good habits.
Then the two guys do a jig on the SIK title song. Then Katrina walks in.
The audience screams for the two to hug, which Salman and Katrina oblige. Kats wants to know why all the ladies are hugging or kissing Sallu mian.
Which Salman says they are all guests, so he has to be polite. The game show begins with the usual banal questions.
Salman goes on to explain in good details about the questions. Katrina wants to get only one question right even if voted out.
She sure appears as the dumb beauty. At one point she says if she doesn’t get the answer right, she’d cry, to which Akki graciously offers to let her win not because he cares about her crying but because he knows that she will take another 1 hour to re-do her make up.
And he has already taken money from the next sponsors. Salman defends her saying that she does not wear much make up and is a natural beauty.
As expected, Katrina is out early on. Mid way Akshay wants to know when the two will get married.
As usual Salman evades the question. There is a question on infidelity and Akshay goes on to narrate an anecdote about a guy getting caught kissing a woman – at the end of it nobody has any idea what he is talking about.
Akshay wins Rs 10 lakh. The question if people should not marry in the same profession – Katrina feels it would be 60-70%.
Akshay choses 44-54%. If wrong they would slide down to Rs 1 lakh or Rs 1 cr if right.
Its wrong! The two fight. Katrina makes Akshay apologise.
So now the two have to give Rs 4.5 lakh each to the two charities.
Its the end of the show. Akshay ends with a verse from the gurbani and the verse from Singh is King with Snoop Dogg.
The three then jig to the Singh Is Kingg dance. Badi sharm ki baat hai the two take just Rs 1 lakh only! Sphere: Related Content Posted in
(less)I work for neither posterity nor prosperity: SRK
..
From a Shirish calling "Ra.One" a fizzled cracker to a Thackeray almost calling you a Pakistani loyalist, within a week - what did you do to trigger this? Both unimportant.
..
let me say something sincerely. I hope it doesn't sound too rude.
Successful people do things, and get over with it, and leave others to live their life off it. I DO them.
And then I leave it to others to live their life off it. It is so strange - if anyone takes my name, I have the ability to make them famous.
Just by taking my name. And that's God's gift.
My son asked me this the other day, 6 'o' clock in the morning he called me, and asked me, Papa, people say things about you. Don't you get angry? Don't you want to beat them up? And I said no, your father is gifted with this.
That if you want to be famous, you take your dad's name. And I said the only persons I don't want to be famous by taking my name are you and your sister.
Let the rest of the world do that. And I truly mean that.
I hope that comes true. I endorse so many people free (laughs)! But surely statements such as Thackeray's must provoke you to respond? Sometimes I don't want to dignify things with answers.
And it takes a huge amount of self-restraint, patience, control, and love for your own family, to keep quiet. And dignity, and perhaps the status that I have in the eyes of the people.
I was told by Amitji once - we were sitting backstage for a show - beta, jab stardom aati hai na, koi bhi aadmi aa kar tumko thappad mar kar chala jayega. Tum use kuch nahin keh sakte.
Kyunki agar tumne kuch kaha, to tum ameer ho, gareeb pe apna dum daba rahe ho. Tumne sharab pi hui hai.
Tum gundagardi kar rahe ho. Tum arrogant ho.
Tum apne aap ko samjhte kya ho? He said these are the things they'll say. You have to keep quiet, put on your blinkers, keep walking.
And that is why successful people finally become a little reclusive. It's not the reclusion of loneliness; my reclusion is the reclusion of avoiding, of ignoring, of saying, let's move on.
Hemaji told me something like this long ago, when I was new. Somebody wrote an article which said that I'd said that Hemaji was not a good director - while I'd said nothing like that, but you know how press mein aata hai.
..
so I was very scared and I said, ma'am, I didn't say anything like that. Hemaji told me see, this means, either I am very famous, or you are very famous.
And my fame has sort of reduced now, so this means you've become famous, and now this will be part of your life. The other night, I met her for the launch of her film, and she asked me - you remember na everything I said? And I said, yes, I remember everything.
So, yes, success makes people - people not related to you or to your field - like to take a dig at you. Sometimes I go to social networking sites for a while and I'm like, arre! Kaafi personal ho gaya! Quite vicious, the online tenor can be, on a bad day.
Yes, very. But then, I'm like, this is maybe a small dusty man in a small dusty room, taking out his angst, his loneliness, by taking someone's name, abusing him, and feeling happy that his achievement has been recorded.
So then I feel I'm also a source of inspiration for them, even if in a strange, negative sense. God bless them.
There is no dearth of actors - stars, rather - who share your surname. But the "Nishan-e-Pakistan" sort of compliments are usually directed exclusively at you.
Why's that? (Laughs) I know, I know what you mean. Maybe I'm too flamboyant.
Maybe like my son, I don't answer back enough..
. But why are you a target of angst across the range - from the guy in the dusty room to irked political leaders? I think I invoke radical passions in people - and that is why I am such a big star! I'll walk out with you just now, and you'll have men, women, of all nationalities, just hugging me.
I think it is the same intensity on the other side, in those who don't like my face. And I will choose to believe in the hugs more than the hatred.
Just like Hyundai uses me, as a professional, a lot of people use me unprofessionally. I've become a free-for-all brand.
I hope they come out with a rule that they can't use a person's name without paying him for it! And the most irritating part of it is one word - opinion. You ask someone, how could you say this about him? And the answer is - it's an opinion.
You're a dog - that's an opinion. You're an actor - that's also an opinion.
You're a Muslim - that's an opinion. Anything can be twisted into an opinion.
That's not good. Ek "Trimurti" mein line thi - kabhi picture mein shoot hi nahin kari woh! - mujhe badi achhi lagti thi: "Jisko dekho mera baap banna chahta hai" (laughs).
It's a strange thing. Jisko dekho mera baap banna chahta hai.
Lekin theek hai. God bless them.
So long as my children don't want to be my baap, it's ok! "RA.One's" revenues have been the subject of much national debate the past week.
Yeah..
. right now, as we sit down and talk, it is supposed to be the highest grosser, as of five days.
The business is different - number of theatres, screens, audience going in big numbers..
. so obviously the reactions are also larger, more volatile.
The projectionists have also become part of the reactions - and they like to make projections telling you that agle din business itna achha nahin hoga. Everybody has become hugely associated with the tangibility of this business.
It is unfortunate that it is so; a film should ideally be allowed to breathe, to reach people at its own pace. That was the old style.
But if you release it in the new style, like we have, with 5,000 theatres, which is the American way of doing it - and the right way - because there are no longer Silver or Golden jubilees, there's only a weekend or two of business. In the future, all big films will release in 5,000 theatres.
In an earlier interview, you said that films and filmmakers are part of a strange art form which is only measured by the yardstick of commerce. And that dichotomy is one you have to live with.
..
You have to live with it, yes, you have to. Earlier, the business of films was not discussed on every platform.
Now, if I'm getting off the plane from LA, people come up to me and say, 'Sir, congratulations, what big figures!' Earlier they would come and say nice film, good role - now they talk about earnings. The applause is mixed with the jingling of coins, you have to hear both together.
It doesn't make me too happy. My heart doesn't crunch numbers.
But my business partners are happy - mazaa aa gaya reactions. I'm like, ok.
..
I think a film should be measured differently also. Is it the media's obsession with you vs Salman that got translated into the almost hourly comparison of "RA.
One" vs "Dabangg"? I don't think it's just the media, honestly. I think there is a section of people related to the trade who also talk in these terms.
A trade person or a producer, he'll tell you it did well, but it didn't quite do as well as that one, or better than that one on the second day, or whatever..
. I feel conversations are not viable anymore; it's just communication.
And communication boils down to monosyllabic terms. Yes, no, ok, good, like, dislike, bye, 170 (crores).
It is no longer ki kaisi lagi picture..
. Nobody converses.
Reactions are like, wow, thumbs up, smiley. New genres, new stories are like a new shoe for a day or two.
And I've been in the business long enough to know ki yeh joota theek ho jayega. Now it'll swerve to the opposite - these figures are unheard of, etc, etc.
I would not like to participate in either of these discussions, Day 1, Day 2, week..
. the messages I get are like, '7 crores on a Monday! Super duper!' The first four days are just about communication, then it comes to conversation about a film.
Appreciating a film is like opening a wine..
. good wine needs a little breathing before you drink it.
On the point of commerce vs art: Wouldn't you be remembered for a role like "Chak De" even if that wouldn't be a movie that made a fraction of the money that "RA.One" is making? No, I don't think so, I don't think that's a case in point.
I work for now. I don't work for two things - I don't work for posterity, and I don't work for prosperity.
Some people work for prosperity. I've worked for that.
But now I am prosperous, I am ok. And I don't work for posterity.
Yaar main yeh kya nishaan chhod ke jaa raha hoon? Because posterity is not created by you; it's created by talk, by cinema, by life itself. If you're working for either of the two, you're on a shaky wicket.
I work for NOW. I want to be untouched by this whole tangibility factor.
I was speaking to Lady Gaga, I had this long interview with her, and she said some very nice things. I really appreciated it because when I say those things, I sound as if I am philosophizing too much.
But she was saying the same thing. If finally someone were to give her a choice between giving up her money, her stardom, all that she's earned, or give up singing, she'd choose not to give up singing.
If someone were to give me the choice between giving up all my cars and my money and giving up acting, I'd say, yaar, acting karte rahenge, will let those go. Maybe if you are as successful as I am today, you have that choice.
Maybe that's not a choice one has in the first two years of one's career. But this is my reality today.
I don't work for the prosperity; yes, it happens along the way, Mashallah, it's very good for the business. And I don't think about posterity.
I will not think about posterity because I still haven't ended; I think my posterity will be when I sit down and start watching my own films, which I still don't do. Never? Never, yaar.
I can't watch my own films. I've kept that for old age - ki baith ke dekhoonga, kiya kyaa.
What is old age? Old age, for me? The way I'm going, about 140. That's what my friends say.
I'm 46 now - so about a hundred to go! Your dad was 50-something when he passed away. You've talked about thinking more of mortality, and of him, when you approach 50.
Yes, then I did. But now I don't.
..
because I am the healthiest I ever was right now. And I am also more relaxed.
In a happier space as a person. To me it's no longer about wanting to have my finger in every aspect of life, like I used to be maybe 15 years ago.
But ya, it is strange to think that my son today is as old as I was when my father died. I do get reminded of that, ya.
Not necessarily about mortality..
. but it's good to be reminded of that, too.
Like Steve Jobs said, if you know finally you're going to die, there seems to be no risk in anything you do in life. He said this when he had cancer.
I think our fear of mortality stops us from living life to the fullest. I am living my dreams - how many people get a chance to do that? Lady Gaga tweeted a picture with you and said 'screw Hollywood!' That must have made you happy! Yeah! Actually all the reviews of my movie in Hollywood are like that.
You should read the reviews in LA Times, New York Times..
. a journalist said to me, 'It's like we've been saying this for 8-10 years, suddenly, seeing "RA.
One", we're telling Hollywood, dude, even technically they're here now - and the cost is one-hundredth of your films.' I think it's a sign of the times, whether it's Akon or Lady Gaga, they all want to come to India.
In reverse, it took an Oscar for us to recognize the genius of a Resul. As to Lady Gaga, she's a sweet lady, really, really upfront, honest.
I spent three hours chatting with her. It was fantastic.
Simple, down-to-earth middle-class girl..
. 'Simple' and 'middle-class' are not the first words that come to mind when you speak of Lady Gaga.
..
An image. An image that's bordering on the bizarre.
And it's just an image. Amazingly intellectual.
A philosopher. She is very clear.
As a person, she is so deep, she knows the philosophy of the world, she ad verbatim knows the philosophers..
. It was a great learning experience - and I say that about very few people, more so those who are 25 years old.
She said a great thing to me. She said, an artiste's personal life should not be discussed beyond a point, because it somehow blunts the art of the artiste.
People start taking the art less seriously than the personality. She says my personality is me, my art is what you see - and they are two distinct, two clear thoughts.
Seeing her on stage, you expect her to be this really wild, vivacious girl - she's actually a calm, normal person who says her most interesting pastime is cooking food for her father whenever she's in New York. Middle-class girl.
She's very clear - I just want to sing. It was a fantastic learning experience for me, and it was also stuff that I completely believe in.
Whatever I am out here is for the people - I'll dance for you, I'll do a "Chammak Challo", I'll wear a tight suit and fly if that makes you happy. But in my personal life, I'm a deeper person.
So when you say silly things about me..
. I have to disassociate and say, these guys don't even know me personally.
So the comment is unfounded. This guy doesn't even know me.
I was flipping through an article and somebody had written, 'This is the most expensive mid-life crisis of a person'. Why are you talking about my mid-life crisis? What do you know about my crisis? Or where I am? Talk about the film - that's what you're paid for.
Review the film. Don't review my personal life.
I don't sell my personal life to you. Talk about the actor, don't talk about the person.
When you make a personal remark about me, without knowing me, I have to take it like that - it's your own issues in life maybe, you're just putting it upon me because iske paas yeh sab kyun hai, hamare paas kyun nahin. I guess it's just that, finally.
Are you still an outsider in the system after all these years? Well, if you look at it, I'm an outsider, which my son won't be, so maybe he'll have it easier..
. but it's not that.
I'm told that I may be coming across as rude. I'm not really very social.
Maybe it's because I don't bend. Maybe because even in the face of bad things, I'm smiling.
It irks people sometimes. They're like, saala, akele yeh sab kaise kar leta hai? I do that because I sleep less, I work harder.
Everyone finds a different reason for my success except the fact that I act. 'Yeh marketing guru hai yaar'.
'You know what, saale ki luck chal rahi hai'. Luck chal rahi hai, for 20 years? Haan, saala, bees saal se luck hi chal rahi hai! It's 'Arre wohi kare ja raha hai, love stories karta rehta hai'.
'Gaane nikal jaate hain iske; gaane achhe mil jaate hain saale ko'. 'You know what, Muslim audience bahut pyaar karti hai isko.
' 'Overseas! Overseas ki wajah se itna chalta hai.' They find strange reasons for my success.
But the real reason is - early to bed, early to rise, work my a** off, and advertize. It's as simple as that.
I am my one man walking talking team. I can handle 5-6 things at a time.
I can handle a cricket team, I can handle production, I can set up a VFX studio, I can make the most expensive film in the country. I can still come and launch a kabaddi tournament in Bhatinda and deliver a speech at Adasia which everybody loved and still go back home and celebrate my birthday with my kids.
And I can play video games with them. And I'm not tired.
And I'm everywhere. But your being everywhere was a point of much talk in the run-up to "RA.
One" - he's on every show, everywhere..
. And why not? An actor once told me - I won't name him - 'I don't like dancing at weddings'.
I said, and how often have you been invited to dance at weddings? The answer: 'I'll never do it'. I said, pehle chance toh mile! If I'm invited, if I'm put on people's shoulders, if I'm asked to be on, from "KBC", to whatever programme - if I'm called, I like to do it, I'm ok.
This is what I'm here for. I like doing that.
You do that if you're called. Just because you're not invited, don't run down my party.
I'm invited to every party. And I like to attend all of them.
And I enjoy myself. Life is beautiful.
I am beautiful. And the few things around me that are not beautiful - I like to think of them as nazarbattoos - tils.
Woh kehte hain na, tere chehre pe yeh jo kaala sa til hai, lagta hai daulat-e-husn pe darbaan bitha rakha hai. So yeh jo negative baatein karte hain mere baare me, yeh mere daulat-e-husn ke darbaan hain, mujhe nazar lagne se bachate hain.
You looked tired, run-down sometimes while being everywhere..
. I got tired.
I fell sick, actually. I got a bronchitis attack but I couldn't stop, film ke premieres they.
Then I was on antibiotics. Superstars don't rest, do they? I sleep an average of 30-35 hours a week.
Today I slept just an hour, but on the flight from LA, I slept for 16 hours straight. I guess it comes out to an average of 5 hours.
I don't sleep very early anyway. I like that time at night.
That's the only time I get to be with myself. No cars, no clothes, no films, nothing, just my thoughts.
That's important. People think insomnia hai, but it's not that.
I like that time - 2, 3am. You hear crickets, it's quiet.
I like that time of the night. For 20 years, when so much is asked of you, and you want to give it with happiness and love, you deserve that time by yourself.
I just sit quietly, I do nothing. I'll write, or surf channels, or read a really silly book.
That time, I feel, gets me ready for the next day, more than the sleep
(less)Aishwarya Rai checks in for delivery
She was admitted to the Seven Hills Hospital in Andheri late last night, a spokesperson of the Bachchan family told the Press Trust of India. However, it is not known yet when she is expected to deliver the baby.
Aishwarya's father-in-law and legendary actor Amitabh Bachchan tweeted a few hours ago: "A day of expectation ..
but another day ! The Lord has his ways and they are most special ..
we wait !!" Exclusive Photos: Aishwarya checks in for delivery This weekend, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan was "up and about" as her husband Abhishek Bachchan's tweet in response to a fan's query, says. She paid another visit to the Seven Hills Hospital for a check-up on Saturday night.
She was accompanied by members of her family, including Abhishek and sister-in-law Shweta Bachchan Nanda. Meanwhile, preparations are on in full swing at the Bachchan home for the arrival of Baby B.
"The family gathers together from all over as we wait for the 'arrival' ..
Greatest joy for me - a full house and the 'chahel - pahel'" says a tweet from Aishwarya's father-in-law, the legendary Amitabh Bachchan. But the preparations to welcome Baby B did not deter Mr Bachchan from watching Imtiaz Ali's Rockstar on Sunday.
"Its late but not without cause ..
just back from 'RockStar' and living in the brilliance of all - Imtiaz Ali, Ranbir, AR and Nargis," he tweeted. Mr Bachchan, who is very active on Twitter, followed up with another tweet praising Rockstar.
In the same breath he tweeted on taking time off to wait for his soon-to-be-born grandchild. " Still with RockStar and its beauty .
.and now to be with family and its joys .

Many felt the Bachchan bahu was being admitted for delivery. However, a reported statement from her spokesperson on social sites categorically denied that she was indeed admitted.
She was apparently at the hospital for a check-up and left after that. On Friday night, Mr Bachchan's Twitter timeline was jammed with messages congratulating him for the birth of Aishwarya's baby boy.
This, after another round of gossip claiming she had delivered on the day which reportedly had 150 crore riding on it as bookies across the country went on an overdrive. Photos: Aishwarya's rare childhood photos "Getting congratulatory messages on Aishwarya delivering a boy !!! Guess they know more than even she does !! False and incorrect news," Mr Bachchan tweeted.
The Seven Hills Hospital has been in the limelight ever since it was confirmed as the choice of the Bachchans for Aishwarya's baby. Photos: Days before delivery, Aishwarya is angry Set in Marol, Andheri (E), it's easy to see why the Bachchans picked it over the usual celebrity choices, including the landmark Breach Candy Hospital in South Mumbai.
Before it became associated with the Bachchan baby, Seven Hills to the casual observer could pass for a luxury gated residential complex. There are two entrances to the main building and a massive car park which separates it from the road.
The back gate mostly remains closed and our sources say the Bachchans enter through the main gate like everyone else. There is now an enclosure built in the compound of the hospital (our sources say by the hospital).
Very likely, this is where the announcement for Baby B will be made. Photos: Bachchans' grand Diwali party This is likely to double up as security enclosure after Baby B's arrival.
For now, there is not much activity around the hospital. Looks like India and the Bachchans are patiently waiting for Baby B to arrive.

(less)Ranbir Kapoor is fabulous in Rockstar: Deepika Padukone
She is one actress who has not let personal relationships come in the way of professional decisions. Ask her how comfortable she is with the thought of working with Ranbir again and she retorts, "I am extremely at ease with the idea.
See, you need to be comfortable with your costar, especially if the film is a love story. If there is any kind of awkwardness between the actors, it shows on the screen".
She credits their onscreen reunion to director Ayan Mukherji who is confident that the pairing would work. Ranbir and Deepika were last seen together in Bachna Ae Haseeno .
"I think Yeh Jawani Hai Diwani is a young film and it would be good fun working on it". In fact Deepika would step into the 26th year of her life by celebrating her birthday while shooting for this film.
"There is no holiday for me", says the actress who doesn't mind bringing in the day with Ranbir Kapoor and Ayan Mukherji. Interestingly, a couple of months back Deepika Padukone made her presence felt at Ranbir Kapoor's birthday bash.
However it is uncertain if Ranbir would start shooting during Deepika's birthday on January 5. The buzz is that Ranbir Kapoor starts shooting for the film in February since his other film Barfee is slightly delayed.
Meanwhile has Deepika been able to catch up with Ranbir Kapoor's latest film Rockstar which has become the talk of the town? "Yea, I have watched Rockstar . I think it is Ranbir's most consistent and flawless performance.
He is just fabulous in the film", she signs off

Gaga has gifted the same shades to Suhana that she wore during her press conference in the capital Friday afternoon. Incidentally, it is Suhana thanks to whom Shah Rukh got hooked to Gaga's music.
"My daughter is a big fan of Lady Gaga. She listens to her music and introduced me to her music, and I am also a fan of her now," King Khan told reporters at the F1 after-party in Greater Noida Sunday night.
SRK, who will celebrate his 46th birthday Wednesday, sat down with Gaga for an exclusive tete-e-tete before the party. Shah Rukh's hope of working with Gaga for a song for his film "RA.

She (Gaga) was very sweet. I sat with her for a couple of hours and exchanged a lot of good things about life.
She is very deep, very sweet." He also joined her at the party, organised by actor Arjun Rampal and restaurateur A.

(less)Tanishaa gets revealing pictures pulled down | Bollywood News and Gossip
Then her relationship with co-star Uday Chopra was more talked about than any movie. Now it seems that her current photo shoot will be in news for more than creativity.
Tanishaa it seems shot for some very revealing pictures for the Indian version of an international men’s magazine. But when she saw the results of the steamy shoot, she panicked and had the magazine pulled off the stands.
Even the website, where the raunchy pictures were uploaded, has been down since. The actress wore a green bikini for the photo-shoot and the cover had her in an upside pose.
She was very comfortable during the photo shoot and was happy with the results. The pictures were shot for the January issue.
All was fine until Tanishaa received an advance copy a few hours before the mag hit stands nationwide. The actress’ family threw a fit at the suggestive pictures and had her call the editor.
The actress offered to pay for the damages and requested the publisher to pull the magazine from the news stands. Meanwhile, another cover girl was zeroed upon, and after a rush shoot, the magazine went into reprint.
However, the pictures were on their website and were viewed by many before they were taken off. There were five pictures and they were all suggestive.
She was wearing a military green bikini top with a green thong. The website then crashed and hasn’t been up ever since.
It’s been more than 10-odd days now. Tanishaa refused to admit to the pictures, “I don’t what you are talking about.
I haven’t done any photo shoot with any magazine.” Sphere: Related Content Posted in
(less)Yuvraj, ex-flame Kim cross paths

(less)Avantika goes gaga over Imran Khan
"Unke saath aayi hain. Avantika hain.
" But Avantika herself was blissfully unaware of all this and her surroundings, and sat on the front row for Karan Johar and Varun Bahl's show, chatting happily with the few who'd come with Karan, Katrina and Imran's entourage. But that was till Imran returned after walking the ramp.
She was already backstage, waiting. "You looked so good.
You did great," she told him, as she gave him a hug. "He looked very hot, na? Superb.
I loved Imran on the ramp," she told us and turned back to talk to Imran and Katrina. "You were patakha," she told Imran and turned to Kat, saying the same thing.
And once this was done with, and she 'happy smile'-posed with her hubby, she took out a few minutes to speak to us. So what's her dress sense like? "Whatever is comfortable," she finished the sentence.
"I know it is a very cliched answer, but it is very hard for someone of my body type to find the right kind of clothes. I am so tiny.
..
so curvy, and I hardly find ready-to-wear that fits right. But I like to have fun with what I wear.
I never go overboard - even for my wedding, I did not go for bling, that's not me." Talking of wedding, how's marriage treating her? "It's fun, I'm having a blast," said Avantika.
Any new discoveries about hubby? "There's nothing really new to discover, I've known him for too long a time for that, but marriage is a different level of things, and like I said, I am liking it. Having a blast," she laughed.
By this time, Imran joined us. How was it walking the ramp? He looked up, rolled his eyes, wriggled his eyebrows.
..
"You looked really good," someone complimented him. "Well, it was good.
See, everyone's telling me I looked good, that I did it well," said Imran. Has he done this before? "Two years ago, once.
" He looked quite confident on the ramp, but how was the feeling inside? "Nervous." Why? "Because it is not my area, not what I usually do.
It is very different from acting," he managed to say, before the couple were once again mobbed by people who wanted to get clicked with them

. RAVEENA TANDON AND ANIL THADANI WHEN: February 2004 LOVE-O-METRE: Nearing the 10-year milestone.
THE PROPOSAL: The couple met for the first time on Valentine's Day at Olive restaurant in Mumbai. After that, however, they did not see each other for two years! Then Raveena made her first film, "Stumped" as producer, and Anil sent her an SMS that he would like to help her distribute the film.
"We actually dated for only two months," shares Raveena. "We met in August 2002, and he proposed in October.
That year, like this year, Diwali and my birthday were on the same day! So he planned a proposal on Diwali day. We first went to his chacha's house to celebrate, and then headed to my family's Diwali puja.
When I reached my dad's house, I saw huge ornate baskets, lots of them lying around the house, and my mom just dismissed them saying, 'Your brothers want to send this to their colleagues and friends.' We started getting ready for the Lakshmi puja, but we were just waiting! And I kept asking, 'Why are we delaying things, it's nine o' clock.
..
lets start! And it was the first time my two adopted daughters, Pooja and Chhaya were standing around with their cameras. Usually I would film or take photographs of the celebrations! Suddenly the doorbell rang and I saw Anil's mom, dad and sister walk in.
It still didn't strike me, but I said, 'So mom, we were waiting for them?' And then my dad asked Anil to do the honours! Everybody was giggling as Anil got on his knees and pulled out a big box with a ring and asked, 'Will you be my wife?' It took me a long time to respond, I saw my mom all teary-eyed, and my daughters were both laughing and crying..
. and everybody said, 'Please say yes, he will get tired being on his knees!' So I said 'Sure!'" WEDDING TRIVIA: Manav Gangwani designed Raveena's bridal wear.
He also designed three exclusive outfits for the groom. The bride's wardrobe was 10 times more elaborate than the groom's.
Raveena got a dream wedding going, after scouting for the best possible locations with Anil. Her sangeet and mehndi parties were held on separate evenings at the Shiv Niwas Palace hotel in Udaipur.
Her wedding reception was held at the Jag Mandir Palace hotel, on Pichola Lake, Udaipur. Farah Khan Ali designed Raveena's jewellery.
Guests included the who's who of Bollywood, and a diverse range of the couple's friends like Gautam Singhania, Manish Malhotra, Vijay Mallya, Ravi and Ritu Shastri, Amar Singh, Vasundhara Raje and Subrata Roy Sahara. HRITHIK ROSHAN AND SUSSANNE KHAN WHEN: December 2000 LOVE-O-METRE: They celebrated a decade together in 2010 and have two delightful little boys, Hridhaan and Hrehaan.
THE PROPOSAL: One year after he started dating Sussanne on Valentine's Day, in 1999, Hrithik went down on his knees and proposed to her at Juhu beach in Mumbai. "I'd known since I was 12 that she was the girl for me, but that was the big moment, complete with a ring.
Earlier, on another Valentine's Day, I'd told her those three all-important words, 'I love you,'" Hrithik has been quoted saying. WEDDING TRIVIA: In a confluence of Hindu-Muslim rituals and cultures, Hrithik performed certain Hindu rites and Sussanne, Sanjay Khan's youngest daughter, performed certain Muslim rites.
The mehndi and sangeet were homespun affairs, mostly at home with close friends and family. But the wedding was a spectacular affair.
The ceremony took place at Sanjay Khan's heavilyguarded Golden Palms resorts and spa, on Bangalore's outskirts in December 2000. In a brief appearance before the media in the midst of the pre-wedding haldi ritual, Hrithik said with a laugh, "There will be no heartburn.
They are my well-wishers. They will continue to wish me luck and success," he said, referring to his choice of bride vis-avis his family's response.
"Sussanne is our last daughter and I'm very happy that she's getting married," said Feroz Khan. About 70 members of the Khan and Roshan families and their friends attended the wedding.
Guests at the reception included stars like Dimple Kapadia, Rishi and Randhir Kapoor, Uday Chopra, Karan Johar and childhood friend Abhishek Bachchan. Hrithik's mode of transport to his wedding was a white horse.
His wedding oufit was a white Jodhpuri suit with gold-embroidery designed by Rocky S, while Sussanne wore a gold and red ensemble designed by Tarun Tahiliani. ABHISHEK BACHCHAN AND AISHWARYA RAI WHEN: April 2007 LOVE-O-METRE: They have reached the half-decade mark this year and are parents to the new-born angel! THE PROPOSAL: This classy couple surprised everyone with their engagement announcement back in 2007.
Although Abhi and Ash were very hush-hush about the love brewing between them, it seemed inevitable as fate repeatedly cast them together in a slew of magnum opus projects such as "Umrao Jaan", "Dhoom 2", and what seemed a turning point, "Guru". Aishwarya becoming a part of the Bachchan parivaar started looking more imminent when she did an electrifying stage performance of Kajra Re at the 2005 IIFA Awards with senior and junior Bachchan.
Abhishek popped the question with a borrowed ring in hand (allegedly from the production department of his film), proposing to Ash spontaneously as they were heading home after the premiere of "Guru" in Toronto, waiting for their flight at the British Airways lounge at New York's JFK airport on January 12, 2007. According to eyewitnesses, a very emotional Ash accepted.
After Abhishek called home with the good news, the couple was asked to come and they had a formal engagement ceremony at Jalsa, attended only by close family friends like Amar Singh, Anil and Tina Ambani, Kirron Kher and the Johars. Finally, the couple was unafraid to hang out at each other's sets and make public appearances together.
WEDDING TRIVIA: The actual wedding became a homely, though celebrity-studded affair mostly set around the Bachchan residences, Jalsa and Pratiksha, as Teji Bachchan, Amitabh's mother, was critical. However, many details about the nuptials were unique: the wedding invite had two 'editions' - one invite only solicited blessings, while the second set actually invited a limited number of guests.
While the Bachchans sent out golden chocolate boxes with the cards, they also sent ensembles by Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla to close friends. The Rais also sent out jewellery and clothes to select invitees, including close friend Subrata Roy Sahara.
Celebrations kicked off at Pratiksha with the sangeet, where it is believed a lot of family members danced to Bollywood songs, with Karan Johar playing MC. The mehndi was held at La Mer, Ash's residence.
Fifteen kilos of special Nihar henna was brought in by Shweta Nanda, Sonali Bendre, Rinkie Khanna and other close friends for Ash from Sojat in Rajasthan. A 30-foot walkway was erected at the entrance of La Mer to the main area of the ceremony.
The actual wedding saw 11 pundits from Benaras and Bangalore, and it was conducted in Arya Samaj tradition. Chanting started in the morning, and massive tents were put up to accommodate guests around Pratiksha.
The ceremony was conducted in an air-conditioned pandal in the same garden. At 5.
15 pm the colourfully-dressed dhol players kicked off the baraat from Jalsa, which ended at Pratiksha, where a bejewelled Aishwarya in a gold kanjeevaram ensemble waited for her groom. The ceremony was over by 7.
30 pm and then the friends danced the night away. KARISMA KAPOOR AND SUNJAY KAPUR WHEN: September 2003 LOVE-O-METRE: " He's (Sunjay) not the film-going sort.
I think Sunjay has made me a calmer person; if you ask me that's the one thing that has changed about me after marriage," said Karisma a year after her wedding. The couple completes a decade in 2013.
WEDDING TRIVIA: Bollywood's blueeyed girl Karisma Kapoor tied the knot with Sunjay Kapur in a ceremony marked by style and grandeur. The wedding ceremony, which was to take place at 11 am, was delayed because the groom was stuck in traffic.
Sunjay arrived at the venue at 12.45 pm and rushed inside the cottage's gates.
He was dressed in a cream sherwani and wore a gold sehra. The pheras finally took place at 1.
00 am in the presence of both families. In typical Kapoor tradition, Karisma was married at her grandfather, the late Raj Kapoor's home, R K Cottage.
The couple opted for an hour-long Sikh ceremony. At around noon, Karisma's family and friends were still busy with pre-wedding ceremonies.
Both the bride's sister Kareena and her aunt Rima Jain supervised last-minute preparations. The strains of the shehnai wafted through the air.
Outside the cottage, the scene was both crowded and confused. Curious onlookers were milling around, hoping to catch a glimpse of their favourite stars.
Journalists, photographers and camera crews had stationed themselves outside the gates of the cottage. A phalanx of policemen was doing their best to manage the crowds and the ensuing traffic jam.
Because of the crowds, no member of the RK family was present at the gates to welcome the groom and his family. Among the guests who drove in were Lolo's uncle Rishi Kapoor, actor Sanjay Kapoor who reportedly played the brother's part at the ceremony, designer Manish Malhotra, granduncles Shashi and Shammi Kapoor, filmmaker Bharat Shah, cricketer Mohammed Azharuddin and Sangeeta Bijlani, Govinda, Rahul and Akshay Khanna.
Manish Malhotra had designed Karisma's trousseau. Being a style icon herself, it wasn't a surprise when she chose to follow the unconventional route and opted for a pastel shade for her bridal outfit instead of the usual reds and maroons.
The tasselled dupatta was embellished with zari and stones. The house was decorated with flowers and the garden that surrounded the house was turned into a Sheesh Mahal-like mandap that could accommodate 600 guests who were offered non-alcoholic drinks and vegetarian starters until the wedding ceremony was completed.
Karisma's father Randhir, according to reports, opened a bottle of champagne after the wedding, after which a wellstocked bar was thrown open to the guests. An elaborate lunch was served later which included a variety of cuisines like Oriental, Thai, Chinese, Italian, French and Continental.
It also included Punjabi, Gujarati and Rajasthani food
(less)Is an SRK-Anurag Kashyap film in the offing?
Few weeks ago we saw him make amends with Arbaaz Khan at a party and now we hear that the filmmaker was seen spending some quality time with superstar Shah Rukh Khan. A source said, "Last week at a party for one of the upcoming awards SRK, Anurag, Kalki and Karan Johar were seen hanging out together.
In fact they left the venue together. Everyone was surprised because it was a whole new gang bonding with each other.
" Interestingly not too long ago, stories about trouble brewing between Anurag and SRK were doing the rounds, because the filmmaker apparently thought the actor wasn't the right choice for his film Bombay Velvet . However, a few days back at a press conference, Anurag said, "I would love to work with Shah Rukh and Hrithik.
They are extremely talented." The source added, "After the party, the whole gang was spotted at SRK's bungalow in Bandra.
So it looks like there was some serious discussion going on." Post Udaan , Karan Johar and Kashyap were also set to team up for Vikramaditya Motwane's next.
Though that did not materialise, may be there's something bigger in store. Watch this space for more.

(less)John won't work with Bipasha in Race 2
While Katrina Kaif and Akshaye Khanna who die in the first part are no more a part of the sequel, all other actors including Saif Ali Khan , Bipasha Basu and Anil Kapoor have been retained in the sequel. Of course to fill up for the lost souls, John Abraham and Deepika Padukone have been added to the cast.
With John and Bipasha in the same film, speculations have been rife that the ex-lovers, who broke up earlier this year and have been consistently avoiding each other even at public events, would finally be seen together. However this just seems to be a dream not coming true.
John Abraham recently confirmed, "Bipasha and I don't have any common scenes in Race 2". So despite the fact that they are a part of the same film, they won't be sharing any screen space.
A source associated with Race 2 , which goes on floor next month, informs, "Bipasha was Saif Ali Khan's love interest in Race and continues to be his girlfriend in the sequel as well. She is paired opposite Saif and not John in the film".
Unlike Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone who have left their past behind and will be working together in Ayan Mukherji's Yeh Jawani Hain Deewani, John and Bips haven't got over their past yet. So while they won't be seen together in Race 2, we wonder what would happen during the promotions of the film, if they still continue to avoid each other.
Guess the makers would have to do with only one of them. All we could say is that may the best person win the race!
(less)Akshay Kumar in Neeraj Pandey's next
A source informed Mumbai Mirror, "After making A Wednesday, Neeraj Pandey, unlike other directors, did not go on a filmmaking spree. He wanted to make his next film only when he is sure of the script.
And now, after working on the script for almost one and a half years, Neeraj is ready to get on to his next venture." Talking about the film, the source added, "The film is based on the infamous robbery of 1987, when 26 conmen posing as income tax officials raided a famous jewellery store in Opera House, Mumbai.
They had walked away with jewels worth lakhs. This incident shocked jewellers across Zaveri Bazaar.
" According to sources, many A-list actors wanted to be a part of this film. "Neeraj was always sure that he wanted Akshay for the film.
That is why he waited for almost three years after A Wednesday. Akshay will play the leader of the 26-men army in the film.
His character name will ineterestingly be Mr Kumar," added the source. After a spate of comedy films, Akshay will now break into the realistic action genre with Neeraj's next venture.
"With Akshay's Once Upon A Time in Mumbaai 2, Rowdy Rathore and Khiladi 786 releasing next year, this film is just a bonus. Akshay considers himself lucky to be a part of the project," said the source.
Akshay and Neeraj remained unavailable for comments
(less)RGV and I are not enemies: Nisha Kothari
But that, she explains, was due to personal reasons. "Why should I be in the news if I'm not doing anything? I don't want to compete with others who are media-savvy.
I took this break for personal reasons, and I don't think I should reveal this to everyone. Being in the limelight for not doing anything is not my policy," she says.
And while she's excited to be facing the arc lights again, Nisha's been told not to talk about her role in the film. "The script was really different from what I have heard so far.
I have always been offered exciting projects in Sandalwood and this one is no different. I have also got the opportunity to work with a new actor," she says.
On the Bollywood front, there was news that she was not in talking terms with one-time favourite director, Ram Gopal Varma and that was one of the reasons she went MIA. "Who said RGV and I are not on speaking terms? We have been and still are good friends.
For those who assume that things are not all rosy between us, here's a bit of news. I recently shot for RGV's film Stalker, which is ready for release.
Just because I don't talk about a person, it does not mean we are enemies," she asserts. Contributed by Mahesh H

Anil Kapoor plays Tom Cruise’s guide
The Indian actor and his western counterpart have been bonding big time. From the beginning of the shoot, Tom Cruise has been tweeting about India and his interest in the Hindi language.
When Tom learned from the foreign studio that he will be required to make a trip to India in December, he began bombarding Anil with questions; seeking help on how to plan his itinerary. Says our source, "On one hand Tom Cruise's itinerary is the most well-guarded secret.
To keep the paparazzi at bay, only a select few have details about his flight and the hotel where his entourage will be put up. The foreign studio making the arrangements has instructed everyone concerned to sign an NDA (Non Disclosure Agreement).
Tom who is now good friends with Anil is letting him know every minute detail." Anil refuses to entertain any calls on the subject but yes, he did confess that he has to keep pinching himself to believe it's true.
Just the fact that a modest guy from Chembur is sharing screen space with one of the biggest Hollywood stars is giving him a high he has not experienced before. Kapoor adds, "Everyone knows my Hollywood journey began with Slumdog Millionaire.
The television series 24 with Kiefer Sutherland took me one step ahead in the West. But rubbing shoulders with Tom is a giant leap ahead.
Honestly, I'm ecstatic."

(less)Kangna Ranaut is dating UK-based doctor!
While the two haven't been spotted publicly or even with friends, the actress maintains that this relationship is for keeps. Recently, a celebrity magazine printed a photograph of Lafferty, provided to them by the actress.
A little investigation on Kangna's man on Facebook reveals cosy pictures of him with another girl. In fact, there are pictures of him there with everyone except he actress.
That could be because she is a public figure or that they want to keep photographs private. Or perhaps, this is an open relationship because Kangna too has been linked to several co-stars in the past year.
What's strange is that they aren't even friends on the site, given that he visits his profile regularly. There have been reports that she spent time with Lafferty in London while shooting for Tezzz , but none of her co-stars or the crew have seen him.
Strangely enough, he never visited her on the set. If she's talking about him publicly, why won't she meet him publicly? A common friend denies that Kintaro introduced the supposed couple, saying, "While he knows Kangna socially, he never introduced her to anybody called Nicholas Lafferty.
He's a tad miffed that his name is being bandied about in this story. If she is seeing him, then why don't her friends have a clue about him? This is really mysterious!" Time to bring your beau out of hiding, eh, Kangna?
(less)Bipasha, John's frozen encounter
The ice, apparently, hasn't thawed between them, even now. An onlooker revealed that the two didn't even acknowledge each other, leave alone exchange pleasantries.
Says a source, "Both looked a little taken aback when they realized they'd both landed up at the same time at the gym. But they decided not to leave and instead finish their workout.
They both have different trainers, so they managed to keep their distance from each other." An insider reveals that they haven't even spoken to each other in the last eight months since their split and have gone to great lengths to ensure that they don't bump into each other at social events to avoid awkward moments.
Both finished working out and even exited the gym at the same time. When they emerged and saw the media waiting outside, Bips looked shocked and quickly rushed into her car, while John looked at ease and chatted with a few people in the media.
The frost in the air between the exes was palpable. While Bipasha says, "No comments! Yes, it's my gym and I go there every day!" John says, "I am not aware of what you are talking about.
" Amnesia or selective memory? You are free to take your pick
(less)Shahid and Priyanka bond in Dubai
Not only did they exchange greetings and spend time, two of them also shared the same vanity van. A source who attended the show reveals, "Shahid was spotted coming out of Priyanka's vanity van where he spent a lot of time chatting and interacting with her.
There was no awkwardness between the two whatsoever. They were extremely pally and attended each others rehearsals to cheer and show support.
Despite the buzz that all is not well PC and Shahid were more than just cordial with each other. The fact they are doing Kunal Kohli's film also made matter easier for them.
They have managed to stay friends despite the break up." While Priyanka performed a medley of her hits from Anjaana-Anjaani, Dostana and a Arabic songs with kids, Shahid grooved to a series of songs from Mausam and Kaminey.
The source adds that after the show got over they exchanged notes over how much they enjoyed performing at the venue as well. Apart from Shahid and Priyanka, others who attended the event were Jacqueiline Fernandes, Malaika Arora Khan and Deepika Padukone
(less)Simi, Rani face-off!
Recently, when she appeared on Simi Garewal's chat show, she tried to use her usual tactic to avoid talking about it but Simi was in no mood to relent. Sources reveal that Rani and Simi had a difference of opinion when it came to answering a question over Rani's relationshipwith Chopra.
"Rani wasn't comfortable when Simi brought up Adi. She gave the usual cliched answer and wanted to move on to the next question, but Simi wasn't satisfied with the reply.
She decided to grill her some more. Rani did not appreciate this and the situation reached a point where it became awkward, as all of this was happening in front of a live audience!" says the source.
Since Rani refused to comment and Simi wasn't letting her off the hook, the interview went into an uncomfortable space for both. "Finally, Simi gave up her persistent demeanour and moved on to other questions.
" But things didn't end there. After the shoot, Rani gave Simi a piece of her mind and asked her to edit out the entire stand-off over Aditya from the final edit.
It is learnt that Simi has obliged and the verbal duel between the two lades won't be part of the episode. When asked if the portion would be included in the final edit, Simi said, "I have just finished editing the episode and there is no mention of Adi there.

(less)Aishwarya not admitted yet for delivery
" Still with 'RockStar' and its beauty .
.and now to be with family and its joys .
. some of the pleasures of vacant schedules .
.rare !! Excitement over soon-to-be-born Baby B reached a head on 11.
11.11, especially when Aishwarya was spotted at the hospital on the eve of 11.
11.11.
"Getting congratulatory messages on Aishwarya delivering a boy !!! Guess they know more than even she does !! False and incorrect news," Mr Bachchan tweeted.
There was high interest building up outside the hospital as 11.11.
11 dawned and progressed. Passersby craned their necks through cracks and crevices in the boundary wall surrounding the hospital, hoping to catch a glimpse of the beautiful Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and the Bachchan family.
Aishwarya, we believe was at Jalsa, one of the Bachchan homes, through the day. The Seven Hills Hospital has been in the limelight ever since it was confirmed as the choice of the Bachchans for Aishwarya's baby.
Set in Marol, Andheri (E), it's easy to see why the Bachchans picked it over the usual celebrity choices, including the landmark Breach Candy Hospital in South Mumbai.
This is likely to double up as security enclosure after Baby B's arrival. For now, there is not much activity around the hospital.
Looks like India and the Bachchans are patiently waiting for Baby B to arrive. Keep watching this space for updates.

(less)Possessive Saif takes offense to Bebo kissing Sylvester Stallone | Bollywood News and Gossip
Saif had been on the sets for many days and all was well till July 18, Sly’s first day on the set. Kareena, was like an excited school girl around him, which irritated Saif .
Bebo and Sly were to shoot for a scene where he saves her from a dangerous situation. After the rescue, Kareena threw her arms around Sly and kissed him smack on the cheek.
It is not clear if the kiss was part of the scene but it didn’t go down well with Saif. After the scene, an upset Saif who had seen the scene on the monitor was seen talking seriously to Kareena.
Saif took Kareena into a corner. She was overheard telling him that she simply did what was asked of her.
She also told Saif that she’d never complain if he did a kissing scene with his leading lady. At one point, she got irritated and snapped that he shouldn’t come on her sets if he couldn’t deal with her intimate scenes with other heroes.
They continued to argue till Saif walked out in a huff. But the much-in-love couple patched up soon afterwards.
Kareena’s best friend Amrita Arora who was on the sets that day was one of the witnesses to the Saif-Kareena fight. She was seen calming down Bebo after Saif stomped out.
By evening, the lovers patched up and Bebo was seen whispering sweet nothings into Saif’s ear at dinner. Kareena and Sajid remained unavailable for comment.
Stallone got along especially well with Akshay. They would spend hours discussing athletic workouts and diets.
Stallone seemed very impressed with Akshay and the fact that he had such a strong body without picking up any weights. Stallone’s diet consists of his food including proteins like tuna fish and Indian kebabs.

(less)Ranbir says no to Rohit Dhawan
Looks like Ranbir Kapoor is being extra cautious not to walk in their footsteps by declining a signing amount of R 1 crore for his director dost Rohit Dhawan's next film. Our well-placed source reveals that Rohit approached Ranbir for his next movie, about a week after the release of his directorial debut, Desi Boyz .
"Rohit discussed another movie with the same producers who produced the Akshay Kumar-John Abraham comedy. In fact, he even told them that he'd get Ranbir on board for their next venture.
They only had to keep Rs 1 crore ready to pay him as the signing amount," says our informer. The source further tells us that the two have been thick friends for a long time.
"Ranbir is often spotted hanging around with Rohit at David Dhawan's residence," explains our source, adding that considering this friendship, the director felt he'd get his buddy to confirm for his next movie. Instead, Dhawan Junior was in for an unpleasant shock when his actor buddy apparently declined.
"Ranbir cited unavailability of dates for the next year and a half, saying he was already committed," said our source. However, Kapoor's reasons are strictly professional.
As our informer elaborates, "After the acclaim Ranbir earned for Rockstar and the buzz Barfi is generating, he's not looking to do run-of-the-mill roles and films. Even Ayaan Mukherji's Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani for producer Karan Johar is a different kind of romantic script.
Since he didn't want to upset his friend, he told Rohit that he's preoccupied with prior commitments." When contacted, Rohit denied the story saying, "I haven't even opened my laptop after Desi Boyz , so I've no script to offer to Ranbir yet.
I respect him as a professional so I can't ask him to do a film without giving him any narration or story idea. Currently, I'm preoccupied with my wedding, due on February 3 and will begin scripting my next only in March.

Siddharth is known to be close to Ranbir Kapoor (he's done two films with the actor) and has worked with Bipasha in Bachna Aye Haseeno. However, it was Shahid and Sid (who've never worked together) who were bonding at the dinner.
Besides casual conversation, the chatter also touched upon the subject of Shahid and Bipasha possibly doing a film together. They worked together in Shikhar (2005), but weren't cast opposite each other.
Since then, the newly-minted couple hasn't shared screen space together. A source reveals, "Bipasha is really fond of Siddharth.
She wanted him to come for a casual dinner with Shahid. They were joking around and having a good time.
Shahid was quite interested in discussing the possibility of doing a romantic film with Bips. A few months ago, there was buzz that Sid wanted to remake the Tom Cruise film Knight and Day with Shahid and Priyanka for a leading production house.
However, the project never took off." Bipasha too showed keen interest in discussing the possibility of a future project.
The source adds, "The conversation wasn't seriously about work. The motive behind the dinner meeting was to catch up, but they couldn't help discussing working in the future.

(less)The filmi style punch lines are back!
Thank god for Hindi masala films that helped revive the art of punch-lines. Now you have new age commercial filmmakers rediscovering the relevance of smart one-liners in helping create blockbusters.
Everytime superstars like Salman Khan, Ajay Devgn and Amitabh Bachchan voiced their thoughts on screen, you could hear the thunderous round of applause and the almost unheard, ceetees. The year 2011 will go down in cinematic history as one that redefined the way our stars speak.
On screen, of course! Don 2 The year ended with SRK's dhamakedaar dialoguebaazi. From well-versed one liners that included that cult 'Don ko pakadna mushkil hi nahin.
..
namumkin hai' to new tongueteasers like, "'Sir' bahut shareef lagta hai, call me 'Don'" and 'Mr Mallik, aap meri maa ko nahin jaante the'. The dialogues of the film also started an entire series of 'Donisms' that's on everyone's lips now.
Bodyguard Mr Salman Khan had already played his pivotal part in kick-starting the trend of powerful punch-lines with Wanted and Dabangg; but he's not had enough of them. Sample this, 'Bodyguard hoon, dhoondh nikalunga' to the almost memorable, 'Mujh par ek ehsaan karna, ke mujhpe koi ehsaan mat karna'.
There are more Salman-isms after every 15 minutes with one random line in Sallu-ishtyle. Who wants story-lines and plots? After directing the same film in three other languages, Siddique got his punch power right in his Bollywood directorial debut.
Ready 'Main kutta hun, yeh meri kutiya hai; aaya mausam kat ne ka..
. Bow Wow' is an almost spoof of a song from "Maine Pyaar Kiya" and now a film dialogue too! Salman Khan re-established the old Bollywood saying, 'dialogues alone can bring audience to cinema halls, was re-established in this Anees Bazmee flick that saw Salman mouthing lines like, 'Teen cheezo ko kabhi underestimate mat karna; I, me and myself'.
Singham Years after he thought standing on two speeding bikes was the coolest thing ever, Ajay Devgn did something cooler (and we are not talking of his tattoos). Clad in khaki hues, he said, 'Abhi ke abhi' to 'Meri zarooratein kam hai, isliye mere iman me dum hai' - Ajay was surely dumdaar enough to carry the movie to the next level - the opening collections created new BO record.
Even baddie Prakash Raj got his share of one-liners, 'Ata mazhi satakli', to which Devgn replied, 'Ata tujhi satkel.' The dirty picture Director Milan Luthria and producer Ekta Kapoor clearly understood how badly the audience wanted to wolf-whistle and throwing chillars everytime the hero/heroine spoke her/his lines.
Here was a heroine who delivered one liners that could give her male counterparts (in the film and the industry) a run for their money. Vidya Balan topped the year with her impeccable performance and flawlessly dished out an entire series of witty punch lines that might have been also instrumental in the film's A-certification.
Vidya's 'main entertainment hoon' and 'Mera naam badnaam hokar hua hain' were simply teasers that sent the audience drooling in collective fantasy in the dark confines of a movie theatre. Ooooh la la anyone? Buddah Hoga Terra Baap The original angry young man and the principal packs some more power-packed lines in his new, revamped macho avatar.
In Puri Jagannath's Hindi directorial debut Big B's is the angry not so young man whose dialogues are 'beeped' into silence (this one is to save the Censor Board some time and hassle, and leave the room open for imagination). His epic one-liner 'Hum jahan khade hote hai, line wahin se shuru ho jati hai' shared space with many brand new ones like 'Yeh aaj-kal ke bachche hamen copy karne lage hai' in the film.
Dialogues abhi baaki hai The five minute long frustrated lover's rant and rave in Pyaar Ka Punchnama by the character of Rajat (Kartik Tiwari), the giggling trio of "Delhi Belly" and many other movies like "Yeh Saali Zindagi" and "Sahib Biwi Aur Gangster" also deserve mention here for working hard to live up to the trend of 'dialogues are back'. With upcoming remakes like "Agneepath" and "Chasme Baddoor" (remembered for their witty one-liners), looks like there will be plenty of bindaas bol moment for us in store.
In upcoming films like "Rowdy Rathod" ('Ilaka tera, dhamaka mera' and 'Faulad ki aulaad') the dialoguebaazi continues unabated
(less)I didn't squeeze Marc's back in 'Kamasutra': Pooja Bedi
..
The occasion was the 20th anniversary of condom brand Kamasutra that was launched in the year 1991 by Gautam Singhania , Chairman and Managing Director of Raymond Limited. Those who contributed to the brand's standing today in some way or the other got together at a suburban lounge to celebrate the success of its 20 years completion.
Funny man Cyrus Broacha left everyone in splits with his standup comedy act as an anchor. The faces of the 'bold advertisement' which made Kamasutra a household name were those of model-actress Pooja Bedi and supermodel Marc Robinson.
The two were honoured on the occasion. Pooja Bedi, the sex symbol of the 90's ( Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar ) and the face of Kamasutra when it was launched, surprised us when she shared with TOI some unknown facts about the 'making' of the sensual ad.
An ecstatic Pooja revealed, "We shot the ad in Goa. When I signed the ad, I was told I'll have to be in shower and Marc Robinson will be on this boat.
I was fine doing all that. However when I reached the studio, I spotted Marc Robinson there.
I asked what he was doing in the studio! That is when I got to know that the ad will also be showing him getting into the shower with me. I was told to use the handshower on Marc! I was surprised and apprehensive although I was okay with it.
After some time, I got even bigger shock when I was told to squeeze Marc's back! That is when I said, "I am so not doing that." I refused to touch Marc Robinson.
Finally the hand that squeezes Marc's back towards the end of the ad was not mine but my makeup artist's! The hand just had to look as if it was mine. I however touched him in other ads that we did together.
" Former model, now a choreographer Marc Robinson joked, "I was okay touching anyone in the shower." Gautam Singhania, Chairman & , said, "At the time of its launch, Kamasutra ads faced resistance in the form of accusations of challenging conservative Indian sensibilities.
Media channels refused to carry the bold ads. However today, the brand is a success in terms of consumer acceptance.
"
(less)I've never been a part of any camp: Priyanka Chopra
At least professionally. When faced with personal questions about rumours of her special friendship with Shah Rukh Khan, the actress fidgets and declares, "I will not talk about this.
I shall never talk about this." However, when it comes to her films, the actress doesn't shy away from answering.
About her upcoming Dharma Productions venture 'Agneepath', the actress gushes, "I am nervous and excited. Reports have been brilliant.
They have liked Hrithik (Roshan), Sanju ( Sanjay Dutt ) and my work. More than anything, they have loved the film.
I'm very proud of Karan (Malhotra, the director) as this is his first film and I'm his first heroine. For me, it's not a remake.
I hadn't even seen the original 'Agneepath' till I signed this film. Also my role has been written fresh.
" And this film strengthens her bond with Karan Johar and Dharma. She had earlier worked with the production house in 'Dostana'.
Though she is not doing 'Dostana 2', "My love story ended in the first part when I walked away with Bobby Deol" being the actress' reason for the same, her relationship with the production house has remained. "Miami to Mandva.
It was lovely working with Dharma again. As an actor, you don't involve yourself with the production much.
You're closer to the director," says the actress. Despite her proximity to Dharma, her relationship with Yash Raj Films is reportedly not as strong.
Rumour has it that Yash Raj did not keep its promise of offering her a big film after she agreed to do a small project 'Pyaar Impossible'. However, the actress maintains that it wasn't YRF she was working for but Uday Chopra Productions.
Good with a section of the industry and not too close to the rest, this is Priyanka's career graph in a nutshell. However, with single minded determination and what trade analyst Amod Mehra calls 'luck' the actress despite being shunned some, has managed to maintain her position in Bollywood.
The actress has also tried to hold on to the few 'good' relations she has in the industry. For example, despite delivering an award winning performance for Madhur Bhandarkar in 'Fashion', the filmmaker's next project 'Heroine' finally had Kareena Kapoor.
But the actress doesn't begrudge him that. "I couldn't have done that role.
Working on a similar plot did not make sense for Madhur and me. We spoke about the film several times.
I'm glad that Kareena's doing it. Both of them will work very well.
" Priyanka puts up a brave front on her reported alienation from the Salman Khan camp. "I have worked with every co-actor possible.
I don't come from a film background. I don't have relationships with people in terms of uncles and aunts.
I have been an outsider. Wherever I'm today is due to the support of this film industry.
They have given big films and amazing work to me. It hasn't been because of any director, production house, actor or a person.
I have never been a part of any camp. I respect every co-actor tremendously and equally.
I would work with anyone," declares the actress. As for her not having worked ever with the third Khan of the triumvirate, Aamir, she simply laughs, "Ask Aamir.
If the offer hasn't come to me yet, what can I say about it?" While in hushed tones, insiders do cite her friendship with Shah Rukh as the reason of her alienation from the other Khans, when questioned about her rise and rise in Bollywood, they all agree upon one thing - her professionalism. According to Suneel Darshan, who gave her the first break with 'Andaaz', " Priyanka is not the conventional beauty like Kareena Kapoor.
Despite that, she has done very well for herself. Knowing well that the perks of stardom can be really high, she has set her goals accordingly.
There is determination written all over her face. When it comes to her, there is hardly anything left between the apple and the arrow.
" But trade analyst Amod Mehra feels differently. "Kareena is number one.
Katrina is on number two. And Priyanka who was once on the second position is now on number three.
That's because Priyanka has made all the wrong choices and given many flops - '7 Khoon Maaf', 'Kaminey', 'What's Your Rashee', 'Drona'. I would say that she has been lucky," says Mehra and adds, "Also, she has limited choices.
Her big star bracket is restricted to SRK and Hrithik. Salman doesn't want to work with her.
Aamir hasn't worked with her yet. She hasn't worked much with Ajay Devgn.
And she can't work with Akshay Kumar." Filmmaker Ratan Jain who worked with Priyanka in 'Aap Ki Khatir' however seems to be almost on the same page as Darshan.
Maintaining that films in Bollywood depend on the male actor, Jain says, "Priyanka is a very popular actress. She is an excellent performer too.
Else, why would she be cast in so many movies? Note that she has also improved her acting abilities over the years."
(less)Bonding with co-stars works for romantic film: SRK
I have so much respect for my co-actresses that I really enjoy working with them. Also, as 99 percent of my films are romantic, you need a lot of bonding, a lot of sharing with each other, this brings out the goodness of scenes we produce," Shah Rukh said at an event.
The 45-year-old, known as a perfect on-screen lover, has appeared in romantic sagas like Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge , Dil To Pagal Hai , Kuch Kuch Hota Hai and Kal Ho Naa Ho . Shah Rukh who wooed newcomer Anushka Sharma in Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi said: "My first film with Anushka was Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi and I felt that she is a good actress.
She is young, sweet, bubbly, energetic and really wonderful to be with. I look forward to working with her and she has a different way of acting.
I really like it. She has a robust style of acting.
Very carefree and I like that a lot." Now, the lover boy image of Shah Rukh is on hold for some time, as the dimpled-smile actor has been busy with projects RA.
One and Don 2 . RA.
One , a superhero film, has been directed by Anubhav Sinha and stars Shah Rukh, Kareena Kapoor and Arjun Rampal. The film is slated for release Oct 26.
Don 2: The Chase Continues , an action thriller starring Priyanka Chopra, will release December 23. Recently, SRK said that he is looking forward to doing a soft romantic film.

Sphere: Related Content Posted in
(less)When Yuvraj Singh bumped into Kim Sharma...
At a recently concluded fashion event, Yuvraj came face-to-face with Kim. "There are three lounges at the venue and Kim was sitting in one of them while she waited for the Wendell Rodericks show.
That's when Yuvraj walked into the lounge. As soon as he saw her, he made a strange face and literally ran out of the lounge shaking his head," said an eyewitness.
"Outside, he asked the helpers to take him to another lounge. Evidently, he was not comfortable sitting in the same lounge as Kim," added the witness.
In the meantime, Kim, taken aback with all that was happening around her, asked the people around her about what was going on. "Later on in the day while talking to some journalists she sounded pretty annoyed at Yuvraj's behaviour.
She stated that now she is a married woman and Yuvraj had no business behaving like that," added the source. Kim remained unavailable for comment.
However, when we spoke to a person close to the actress, he said, "She is happily married and would not like her husband to read about something that could hamper her marriage in any way. Neither Kim nor Yuvraj knew that they would bump into each other at the fashion week.
She maintained her dignity."
(less)Yuvraj, ex-flame Kim cross paths

(less)Celeb weddings in 2012
The media has been speculating about their wedding ever since. Recently, Saif Ali Khan's father Nawab Mansur Ali Khan Patuadi passed away and their plan of getting married in the year of 2011 was postponed.

Neetu Chandra postponed her wedding from 2011 to 2012 because she wants Randeep to clean up his on-screen image first. However, in his latest release Sahib Biwi Aur Gangster he was seen doing some erotic scenes with co-actress Mahi Gill.

In the first year, he's at his best behaviour. In the second year, his true shades start coming out, and if you've survived the third year, you know you can go the distance.
The thing with Sahil is that in the very first year itself I knew that we would go the distance. He's very grounded, clear and dependable.
