Hera Pheri 3 can't afford Akshay
Now Abhishek plays Akshay Kumar's role. Nana Patekar has stepped into Paresh Rawal's role, And Sanjay Dutt plays Suniel Shetty's part.
This, according to Nadiadwala, would remain the lineup of actors for the Hera Pheri films to come. The parting with Akshay over Hera Pheri has left Feroz distressed.
"I first started discussing the third Hera Pheri movie with Akshay in 2006. I never wanted to make it without him.
It's sad that we couldn't come to an agreement. Akshay is like a brother.
But I can't afford him.I hope we work together again very soon.
Feroz is delighted with the script that Anees Bazmi has come up with the new Hera Pheri film."It's going going to be one of the funniest comedies in living memory," promises Feroz

Azim looks up to Salman, SRK and Aamir Khan
To make his character in "Qasam Se Qasam Se" appear realistic, Azim frequented call centre offices to absorb the finer nuances of the people working there. "It was quite a relevation for me as an actor.
I witnessed not only people's mannerisms but also the activities they indulge in during the break hour. Looking into the mirror, some guys would be busy ruffling their hair and taking care of their looks, while some would busy binging.
And there would others catching up with family and friends over their cell phones. This has helped shaped my character in the film.
" Azim feels that all our veteran actors were keen observers and would translate that on screen. "Whether it were the legendary actors like Dilip Kumar or the late Raj Kapoor or Dev Anand , they were schools in themselves.
I am a great fan of Salman Khan , Shah Rukh Khan and Aamir Khan and look at them as a student who looks upon his guru. I am mastering the art of acting watching their films," he smiles

(less)I never thought I'd be a desirable woman: Sameera Reddy
"My name in the list means a lot to me. As as a young girl, I never thought even in my wildest dreams that I would become a desirable woman.
I yearned for a perfect body as I was ugly duckling in school. But now that I have entered films, I believe that beauty is hidden in the imperfections of people and it all depends on how you use them.
That's my definition of desirable and I am glad to have made it to the list," says Sameera. The actor is basking in the success of her last Tamil release opposite Madhavan and has Padma Shri Priyadarshan's Tezz to look forward to.
Sameera has now decided that she will do a mix of performance-oriented and glamorous characters on screen, something that Simran and Jyothika did in Kollywood. So is the report true that Sameera wants to become the next Simran and Jyothika? "You cannot become another person.
I had said that I look up to both Simran and Jyothika, who had a mixed bag of roles- performance-oriented and cute characters. Both had their own fan following .
They are my role models and I want to have a beautiful lineup of characters like them," says the actor
(less)Sherlyn Chopra likes being unconventional
Be it politics, cinema, sports, business or any other arena, women across the globe including India are in great form mentally, physically and consciously to undertake greater responsibilities and tougher challenges that are often encountered on paths less travelled." Sherlyn is also happy that she has gone from being just a pin-up girl to an entrepreneur.
Says she, "The rapid metamorphosis in my case would not have been possible had the mindsets of the majority of the people in the Hindi film industry continued to be goverened by prejudices. I look upto entrepreneurs who command respect and attention for daring to think out of the box and act accordingly.
They do not have a herd mentality. What they have is unadulterated creativity which is set on fire by courage.
" Naming films like " The Dirty Picture ", " Erin Brokovich ", " No One Killed Jessica "," The Black Swan " as cinema that has changed the way we think, Sherlyn says, "Unconventionality is no longer a taboo. It is being applauded and celebrated by both the classes and the masses.
The pulse of the youth is racing towards liberalisation. And I'm truly loving it.
" Asked why she decided to give us photographs that resembled those of the " Jism 2 " campaign, the actor quips, "I have pushed the envelope by choosing to cover my nakedness with nothing but pure consciousness."

(less)Flash mob greets Imran at New York University
"I had a blast at NYU. Everyone was so enthusiastic, they put on a very polished, confident show, and the surprise flash mob at the end was perfectly executed.
My best wishes to all the students involved," Imran said in a statement. The students had been practising for the performance for over two weeks, ahead of Imran's visit to New York as part of the promotional tour.
"As the president of NYU Dillagi, a Bollywood dance team, I knew we had to have simpler steps that the general public would be able to do and we sent videos out to the public. I thought that the flash mob came out even better than expected since people kept joining the mob throughout the sequence and it definitely surprised those that did not know of it ahead of time," Mohit Chhatpar, coordinator of the flash mob, said.
"It was really fun to be doing a flash mob and having Imran among us was all the more fun. He was very sporting and interacted with the students.
We are excited about this movie as well and are glad he could come and be among us to talk about his movie," he added. The Dharma Productions' film, also starring Kareena Kapoor, is set to hit theatres Feb 10.

"It's been 20 years for that film. So, obviously now I will have to upgrade this story.
It will be the same realistic love story but with a modern theme," Suri told IANS. Aashiqui won critical accolades after its release at the time.
It also catapulted the careers of lead actors Rahul Roy and Anu Agarwal, who forayed into Bollywood with this film. Suri is also set to hunt for new faces for the sequel.
"I will cast fresh faces with a new boy and a new girl," said Mohit. While some are referring to Aashiqui 2 as a sequel, others are calling it a remake.
However, producer Mukesh Bhatt of Vishesh Films sets the record straight. "It is neither a sequel nor a remake.
It can be said as the musical series of Aashiqui ..
.a new generation is making this film," he said.

Akshay bonds with Hollywood's best
They apparently had lots of common interests including movies, health and kids! Says an official spokesperson, "Rob Lowe and Akshay Kumar have become good friends. They have bonded like a house on fire.
" Our source adds, "Both actors are almost the same age, plus both are fitness fanatics. They were heard sharing health tips.
" Rob plays a coach to the protagonist's ice hockey team and has a full-fledged role like that of Shah Rukh in Chak De . "Unlike other movies where popular Hollywood stars just do a cameo, Lowe is playing a central character in this Canadian/Punjabi comedy-drama film," adds the source.
Known for his performances in all three Austin Powers movies and Thank You For Smoking with The Dark Knight star Aaron Eckhart, this will be Rob's first Bollywood flick. Given the poor run of his films at the box office of late, Akki definitely needs Speedy Singhs to work its magic with fans, even though he's only produced the film, reserving a very minor guest appearance for himself.

(less)Producer's job not my cup of tea: Suniel Shetty
"The transformation from being an actor to a producer has been difficult. A producer's job is very demanding.
It is not my cup of tea, it is not my job, I know this for a fact," Suniel told IANS in an interview. "It is difficult to maintain relationships in this business.
A lot of misunderstandings happen and also there is too much stress. I don't think I want to be connected with stress," he added without revealing whether he will discontinue with the moviemaking business.
The macho actor made his entry in 1992 with "Balwan". A Black Belt in kickboxing, he did a string of action-packed movies such as "Waqt Hamara Hai", "Mohra", "Suraksha", "Shastra", "Rakshak", "Krishna", "Aakrosh" and "Dus".
Apart from action and comedy, he worked in patriotic outings like "Border" and "LOC: Kargil". But his ultimate aim is that people should remember him as a good human being.
"Twenty years is a long time to have survived in this industry. And it is the most important thing for me.
I worked with my heart and soul. There have been highs and lows but the day I retire or I get out or I am pushed out - I would want people to say that he was a good actor, but more than that he was a good human being," he said.
"That's why I also make a conscious effort that I don't hurt anybody," added Suniel who has been entertaining audiences for the last two decades. The actor even made a good on-screen team with action stars Akshay Kumar and Ajay Devgn in the 1990s, when actors had to take a lot of risk to make action scenes work.
But Suniel feels nowadays working in actioners is not as risky as it used to be. "Now the action has been made sleeker, easier and better.
Kids (young actors) don't have to break their bones like we had to. They don't have to jump from the fifth floor, they easily come down on cables or they just act as if they are jumping and the green screen does everything.
We did things ourselves. We were men then, and they are boys now," he said in a bold voice.
Pondering over the present scenario of the film industry, he concludes that masala movies are making a comeback. "The movies that are being made now are quite similar to the ones we had during the early 1990s.
The masala films, with action, fights, villain, hero and the beautiful heroines. It's a nostalgic feeling.
"Though we don't have the real 'villain character' any more, which were played by Amrish Puriji and the iconic Gabbar. Now the actors are trying to do everything in a film.
But films like 'Dabangg' and 'Singham' have really played an important role in letting us relive our old days," said the actor whose next big screen outing will be "Chai Garam"

"But producers and directors are in a fix as Jackie's image, especially post Murder 2, is precisely that - sexy and glamorous!" Sajid, of course, denies all this saying, "It is not true. Jackie has gone to Sri Lanka and I am in Bangkok.

(less)Asin wants to act with Rajinikanth
"I wish to work with Rajini..
. If I come across a good project I will certainly act (opposite him)," she said.
The 26-year-old actress will be next seen opposite Akshay Kumar in Housefull 2 and the actress is looking forward to the release of the film, which boasts of 22 major actors working in it. "We wrapped up shooting in record time and the film is ready for an April release.
It has shaped up very well. I am looking forward to it," she told reporters at the announcement of the 57th Idea Filmfare Awards here.
Housefull 2 boasts of 22 major actors including Akshay, John Abraham, Riteish Deshmukh, Randhir Kapoor, Rishi Kapoor and Mithun Chakraborty. It was a huge challenge for Sajid Nadiadwala and Sajid Khan not just at the scripting stage, but also logistically.
"It was a lot of fun working with Sajid Khan and Sajid Nadiadwala. Both have managed such a huge cast very well.
Everybody had a blast during the shoot," Asin said. "It was also great sharing space with senior actors like Mithun Da, Rishiji, Randhirji, Boman Irani, Johnny Lever and the other girls (Jacqueline Fernandez and Zarine Khan).
With such a big cast, it was literally housefull," she added. Asin said apart from Housefull 2 , she is working in Bol BachchanM starring Ajay Devgn and Abhishek Bachchan and directed by Rohit Shetty.
"We have just wrapped up one schedule and shooting is going on," she added. When asked whether she has any plan to act in Hollywood flicks, Asin said, "I think right now I better concentrate on Indian cinema.

(less)I'm a real desi boy: Akshay Kumar
"I want to produce commercial films. But if I get a good script, I would love to make a National Award-winning movie," Akshay, 44, who has spent two decades in Bollywood , told IANS in a telephonic interview from Mumbai.
The actor is all set to put a lid on 2011 with "Desi Boyz". Releasing Nov 25, the film will see him teaming up with John Abraham as a co-star.
Directed by Rohit Dhawan, the son of director David Dhawan , "Desi Boyz" also has Deepika Padukone and Chitrangada Singh in the female leads. Akshay, a Punjabi who has spent many years in Delhi, says he has always been a "desi" at heart and his recent decision of communicating in Hindi shouldn't be taken as a marketing gimmick.
"I have always tried to speak in Hindi. It is because in real life I am a real 'desi' boy.
All my life I have believed that the day should start with touching the feet of my parents, that home cooked food is always better than outside food. I have always preferred ghar ka parantha to anything from outside," he said.
"Even if we go out for a movie, I prefer to watch Hindi films over English. So it was there in me, always.
I am very grounded that way," he added. The crackling chemistry of Akshay and John was the highlight of "Garam Masala" and Akshay says his friend and co-star has improved a lot since then.
"We are coming back together on the big screen after six long years. We were not offered any movies together during that period.
While shooting for this film, we had much more fun than we had in 'Garam Masala'. So, we were wondering why no one ever thought of casting us together all these years," said Akshay.
"We have become quite good friends now. And, trust me, John has improved a lot since then, especially his comedy timings.
The way he has improved his muscles, his comedy timing has also improved," he added. From being an action hero to doing comedies, Akshay tried different things and in his upcoming film "Desi Boyz" he will be seen stripping and doing pole dancing.
And what he liked about his character, Jerry Patel, is that it was a different role. "I had a lot of fun while doing this movie.
First of all I haven't played this kind of character ever. When the role was narrated to me, I knew this was something I wanted to do.
And, secondly, its director Rohit Dhawan told me the film is based on the real-life incident of two people who had to take extreme paths to survive during recession," he said. The action-comedy deals with how the life of two friends turns upside down when recession hits Britain and they are left with no choice but to strip and pole dance for a living.
And then the story has its twists and turns. Akshay made his mark with hits like "Khiladi", "Ajnabee", "Hera Pheri" and "Namastey London " and is all set to entertain his fans with interesting projects like "Joker", "Rowdy Rathore" and "Housefull 2" next year.
He turned producer in 2010 with "Tees Mar Khan" and later produced "Patiala House " and "Thank You" as well. Even though these films flopped at the box-office, Akshay is undeterred.
"I will always do a film I believe in, I can connect to and my fans can relate to it as well. So even if 'Patiala House' didn't do well commercially, it was critically acclaimed.
I was close to the film because it dealt with the emotional bond between a father and a son," he said. He made his presence felt with "Thank You" and "Speedy Singhs" this year and he was also seen in a special appearance in "Chalo Dilli"

2Die Hard: Bruce Willis Every young man's Saturday night action flick. Boys wanted to be him, men wanted to copy him and women wanted to be with him! 3Predator: Arnold Schwarzenegger The film that stopped people from trekking in the jungle.
Arnold's most deadliest film till date, it had an amazing concept and visuals that made even the bravest men cringe and the woman run to the kitchen. Awesome action and ultimate climax.
Schwarzenegger's finest! 4Leon: Jean Reno The most touching sniper film Hollywood has ever made. Jean Reno introduced to the world to the soft side of a killer.
It was also probably Natalie Portman's best role ever. One of the only action films to actually bring a tear to many a man's eyes.
5Kung Fu Hustle: Stephen Chow The funniest, most extreme Kung Fu film I've ever seen. The characters were outstanding, the idea superb, the axe dance unforgettable, the old landlady still haunts many husbands, the action and effects brought a new light to the whole martial arts film.
6Ong Bak Hero: Tony Jaa Groundbreaking emotional action. Tony Jaa is an action God, his talent, his skills, his speed is unbeatable.
He makes us martial arts lovers look slow and non-versatile. He is really inspiring.
It's a film I'll never forget. 7District 13: Cyril Raffaelli, David Belle and Tony D'Amario Greatest Parkour film that few have seen but it is extraordinary in the world of raw action.
These guys are fearless, insanely brave, immensely talented, and inspirational to all adventurous people. They made a film many action heroes would die for, but would probably die trying.
8 Kick Ass: Aaron Johnson , Nicholas Cage and Chloe Grace Mortez The most unexpected action film in a long time. I love this film because I remember taking my son for it and we had no idea it was going to be this good.
The girl is outstanding and kicks ass more then most guys can. 9Rambo: Sylvester Stallone This list wouldn't be complete without either Sylvester or Rambo in it.

Raw, real, a genuine all time favourite action film. 10Kill Bill Vol 1&2: Uma Thurman One of Quentin Tarantino's finest and the greatest female action film ever.

The world desperately wanted to know what happens next. 11Sholay: Amitabh Bachchan , Dharmendra Deol and Sanjeev Kumar It is the perfect mixture of action, romance, drama, acting and changed millions of lives.
Being a small boy, I remember doing so many household chores just so I could earn enough pocket money to sneak off and go see it over and over again. 12 Bourne Identity Trilogy: Matt Damon The film brought heroism to being a spy.

It changed the face of stunts, brought techniques that nobody knew about in India. I think the world is still trying to copy what they created 10 years ago.
It had talent and grace you'll never witness in kick ass films. 14Khiladi 420: Akshay Kumar The most dangerous action film I've shot in my career yet! The stunts I performed in this film are ones I swore I would never do again.

I love this film because I remember taking my son for it and we had no idea it was going to be this good.

(less)Big B in Kunder's next inspired by The Pursuit of Happyness
But anyone who watches it will feel like it is their own story. It is like in the genre of The Pursuit of Happyness with Will Smith.
It's that kind of a film where there is drama and a sense of comedy and all. Like even when I watched Pursuit .
. it reminded me of all the struggle that I made to enter Bollywood," Shirish told PTI, on the sidelines of a launch of a devotional music album, last night.
The Pursuit of Happyness is an American biographical drama based on millionaire stock broker Chris Gardner's nearly one-year struggle with homelessness. Directed by Gabriele Muccino, the film featured Will Smith as Gardner, an on-and-off-homeless salesman-turned stockbroker.
Smith's real-life son Jaden Smith co-starred as Gardner's son Christopher Jr. The film was a hit and won several awards.
"This is the kind of story that only people like me who is an outsider and have struggled to come in Bollywood can only make. Not anyone who is already here as they don't come across the kind of struggle we all outsiders go through to come into a place where we are not allowed.
So we identify with the story ," he said. After six years, Shirish has managed to finally rope in Amitabh Bachchan for his dream film.
The director's previous film Jaan-E-Mann bombed at the box office. He is currently working on Akshay Kumar-Sonakshi Sinha starrer 3D film Joker which releases in August 2012.
Ask him how Big B came on board, he says, "It was during Jaan-e-mann when we had kept a preview for Bachchan Sir, he saw and brought his family next day to see it again. He told me we should work together but bring a role for me with meat in it.
I started working and wanted a solo film for him which is about him. I was hunting.
..
thinking of a story and it took me long time." "After that he had told me to put some meat in it.
I was scared that I cannot go with any rubbish to him. I wanted to be very sure when I went to him that he will not say 'NO'.
Mr Bachchan plays a common man. It will inspire every person be it a rickshaw driver or cashier using their skills how he can achieve something special," he said.
The film goes on floors soon and will release next year. About the leading lady, Shirish says, "We haven't finalised it yet.
He gave his nod for the project just a few days ago and till then it would have been pointless to think of who to cast. There will be one opposite him of the older generation, then there will be a son and a girl opposite him.
" So, is he considering real life son, Abhishek Bachchan for the film? "No. It will not justify him.
.He needs a bigger role than this.
Here the film is about Mr Bachchan. But I would like to do other film with Abhishek in it," Shirish said.

They would be seen in Rohit Dhawan's upcoming film, Desi Boyz . "I think John has changed a lot since the time we worked earlier.
He has a fantastic comic timing. I feel the way his muscles have flexed up, his comic timing has also improved a lot.
In fact, I am learning comedy from John. His style of comedy is very laid-back.
Laid back in the sense, the way he delivers the dialogue is so effortless that it leaves an impact behind," Akshay told PTI in an interview. The 'Khiladi' actor compares John's comic timing to that of 'Mr Bean', a British comedy television programme starring English actor-comedian- screenwriter Rowan Atkinson in the title role.
"I think his comedy is somewhat similar to Mr Bean. He does laid-back comedy, his way of delivering dialogues is very slow.
..
that is another way of comedy. Like Mr Bean has a very laidback style of talking and audience will catch it up.
It is a very great qualification he (John) possesses. I have started learning from him.
Charlie Chaplin is loud, while Mr Bean is more subtle and laid-back," Akshay said. Akshay, who started off in Bollywood as an action-hero, later forayed into comedy.
His comic performances in films such as Hera Pheri (2000), Mujhse Shaadi Karogi (2004), Garam Masala (2005), Hey Babyy (2007), Welcome (2007) and Singh is Kinng (2007) proved success. "It has been six years since we worked together in Garam Masala .
We were not very close at that time but the equation today is completely different. I am surprised that all this time no one wanted to do a film with us together.
Now we are doing not one but two films Desi Boyz and Housefull-2 ," Akshay said. "He is very hard-working and best-looking boys in the industry.
He is a model, walked ramp and now acting," he said. For the first time, Akshay would be seen opposite Chitrangada Singh, known for doing unconventional films, the actor has all praises for his dusky co-star.
"I loved working with Chitrangda. She is a very beautiful, dusky desi girl.
Whenever I look at her, she reminds me of Smita Patil, she has got that kind of beauty. She would rehearse her lines before coming onto the sets.
She knows exactly how she is going to play her scene," Akshay said. Recollecting an incident about Chitrangada, the 44-year-old actor, said, "She has done parallel films and this is her first commercial film.
During a promotional event, when she saw a huge crowd, she got frozen and I remember I was walking ahead and she was standing behind. The power of commercial cinema is different.
"I held her hand and asked her to come with me, while Deepika was walking in full confidence as she knows about it," he said. The film, which also stars Deepika Padukone, opposite John, releases on December 25.

(less)I was never in Hera Pheri 3: Akshay Kumar
I guess the lure of action is calling out to me. I started out as a Khiladi," says Akshay.
So, is he ready to step into the shoes of superstar Rajinikanth in Punjabi Rajinikant? "There is no Punjabi Rajinikant; it is Khiladi 786 - Made in Punjab, and it's part of the Khiladi series in which I will return to my action hero roots," he says. Buzz has it that Akshay has pulled out of Anees Bazmee's Hera Pheri 3 because he fell out with producer Firoz Nadiawala.
"I was never in Hera Pheri 3. Nobody had approached me for that film," he retorts, brushing off rumours about a tiff.
While he left no stone unturned in promoting his production venture Speedy Singhs, the film hasn't found favour with critics, with most calling it another Bend It Like Beckham. "I am more concerned about a film's commercial success.
Having said that, I do care about the reviews. As far as the concept is concerned, the film was initially made for Canadian and American audiences, with those kind of sensibilities and sense of humour.
I am proud to say it was the biggest grosser in USA and Canada . It's like an extra bonus I get there," says Akshay, adding, that the reason the film may not have fared that well in India because it was about "a sport like ice hockey that's not very well-known here.
" How does he juggle his role as a producer and an actor? "Acting has always been my bread and butter. I am first an actor, then a producer.
I don't like to sit and watch over things. My job as a producer has always been very minimal," he says.
Quiz him about his co-star John Abraham , with whom he will soon be seen onscreen with and he says, "John has changed over the years. He has grown as an actor and there is more to him than meets the eye.
He has matured and has become more dedicated and wants to prove himself," he signs off

(less)Akshay Kumar can’t play God
The film that has now been titled Oh My God! and is Akshay's first co-production under his recently set up production company Grazing Goat, will be directed by Umesh Shukla, who had also directed the play it is based on. Ashvini Yardi, ex head honcho of a television channel gets into film production with this venture as well.
A source close to the film revealed to Mumbai Mirror, "Originally, Paresh Rawal was supposed to produce the film. But now his company Playtime will be the line producer for the project.
" Explaining the reason behind Akshay's decision to opt out of the project, our source added, "Despite having to work on five films in 2012, Akshay tried his best to allot dates to his co-production with Ashvini. However, things failed to fall in place.
He is tied up with five films next year- Shirish Kunder's Joker, Prabhu Devaa's Rowdy Rathore, Milan Luthria's Once Upon A Time In Mumbai Part 2, Ashish Mohan's Khiladi 786 and Neeraj Pandey's Special Chabbis. And Ashwini wanted to put her first film on floors in January 2012.
" "Akshay and Ashwini had long meetings. Akshay is still trying to work out his dates, but chances of him remaining in the film are pretty remote.
Even the entry scene had been completely worked out keeping Akshay in mind. So, all that will have to be done all over again.
A big star will be chosen to replace Akshay," added the source. According to sources from the industry, Salman Khan and Ajay Devgn are being considered to replace Akshay.
Akshay and Ashvini remained unavailable for comment
(less)Akshay Kumar in Neeraj Pandey's next
A source informed Mumbai Mirror, "After making A Wednesday, Neeraj Pandey, unlike other directors, did not go on a filmmaking spree. He wanted to make his next film only when he is sure of the script.
And now, after working on the script for almost one and a half years, Neeraj is ready to get on to his next venture." Talking about the film, the source added, "The film is based on the infamous robbery of 1987, when 26 conmen posing as income tax officials raided a famous jewellery store in Opera House, Mumbai.
They had walked away with jewels worth lakhs. This incident shocked jewellers across Zaveri Bazaar.
" According to sources, many A-list actors wanted to be a part of this film. "Neeraj was always sure that he wanted Akshay for the film.
That is why he waited for almost three years after A Wednesday. Akshay will play the leader of the 26-men army in the film.
His character name will ineterestingly be Mr Kumar," added the source. After a spate of comedy films, Akshay will now break into the realistic action genre with Neeraj's next venture.
"With Akshay's Once Upon A Time in Mumbaai 2, Rowdy Rathore and Khiladi 786 releasing next year, this film is just a bonus. Akshay considers himself lucky to be a part of the project," said the source.

(less)I still say no to films: Suniel Shetty
I can't afford to complain. I never planned to do cinema and I am still here.
Still signing films, still doing a lot of work. I still say no to films.
What more can I ask for?" Suniel told IANS. If he is content with his professional life, he is equally happy in his personal life.
"I am always happy. I have got two beautiful children, a happy family.
When I am not working, I like to spend time with the family. I am an outdoor guy and I love playing sport," he added
(less)Did Hema irk Dimple and Akshay?
Besides Dharmendra , Vinod Khanna and Rishi Kapoor , who form part of the cast of Tell Me O Khuda , veterans like Yash Chopra , Ramesh Sippy , Shatrughan Sinha and Dimple Kapadia also graced the occasion. Obviously they were here for Hema Malini's special day.
Akshay Kumar too joined his ma-in-law Dimple at the event and everybody waited patiently for the star-studded event to begin. And the moment the film's music was about to get released, to everyone's surprise it was Shahrukh Khan who had made a grand entry and had just made it on time, headed straight on the stage and was treated like the guest of honour for the event.
Even after the film's music was released, Shahrukh, who had played the lead hero in Hema Malini's directorial debut Dil Ashna Hai (released in 1992) was given a VIP treatment. The mother and daughter duo were overwhelmed with his presence.
There were hugs and kisses and Hema was seen having a long conversation with King Khan who had come from the sets of Kaun Banega Crorepati . Esha looked completely elated with Shahrukh by her side.
While all this was going on, Dimple Kapadia and her star son-n-law and Shahrukh's arch rival Khiladi Akshay Kumar made a quiet exit. And so did many others.
Obviously Hema, who had got busy attending to Shahrukh, did not realize what had happened. But when she was asked about the possibility of irking SRK's rival, as usual her response was candid, "Actually Shahrukh came a bit late for the event as he was coming from a game show and Akshay had to leave early because he had some other engagement.
But I don't think anybody got upset. My programme was going on and I couldn't have called others on the stage in between.
I could have called only my cast and crew," she explained. But nobody could stop the tongues wagging.
Also, one wondered what would have been Hema's predicament had Salman Khan , who has done a cameo in a dance song with Esha in Tell Me O Khuda , had been around. More than Akshay, it is Salman who is Shahrukh's fierce rival.
But then yes, Shahrukh is definitely special for Hema. She was the first filmmaker to sign Shahrukh when he was new to the industry.
Interestingly, Hema will be competing with the actor at the box-office with Ra.One and Tell Me O Khuda releasing simultaneously on Diwali, on October 26.
But this experience will certainly make the dream girl more careful in the future
(less)I’d love to work with Rajinikanth: Asin
But what's put the actor in the limelight is the recent news of her starring in Rajinikanth's next. The latest buzz doing the rounds in Kollywood circles is that she's been offered to play the lead role opposite the Superstar in Kochadaiyaan, beating competition from the likes of Vidya Balan and Anushka Shetty.
Quiz her about the offer and the actor remains tight-lipped about it. "You'll have to ask the producer of the film.
I can't comment about it now," she says, adding, "I would love to work with Rajinikanth and if a good project comes by, I'll take it up." Asin, who is still basking in the success of her last release, Ready, has reportedly said that she wouldn't like to do many films with her 'dear friend' Salman Khan .
Rumours that she is dating Neil Nitin Mukesh - with whom she was said to have broken up with - have resurfaced, but the actor is unmindful of the controversies that surround her. "Bollywood gossip is a cliche.
I am a straightforward person and prefer to set the record straight if anything comes up," she asserts. The 26-year-old actor, who has wrapped up the shoot for Housefull 2 opposite Akshay Kumar, is looking forward to the release next year.
"With 22 stars working on the film, we had a blast shooting for it. Sajid Khan and Sajid Nadiadwala managed the cast really well," says Asin.
When asked about how it was to work with the new dostana in town - Akshay Kumar and John Abraham - she says, "It's Akshay plus John! Both of them drove the entire cast and crew crazy with their pranks." What excites the actor is that the roles she plays in her upcoming films will show her in a different light altogether.
Is she choosy about her roles? "I am not choosy. I can shuffle between a serious role and feature in an out-an-out commercial flick too.
Nevertheless, I prefer to act in movies that strike a balance between both," she says. Having worked in Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam films, does she have plans to work on a Kannada film in the near future? "I have no qualms about working for any film industry as long as my role in the film is meaty.
I'd love to work for a Kannada film, but I haven't been offered any scripts so far," she says
(less)Sajid Nadiadwala’s mum halts Housefull 2 shoot
And loving son Sajid, held up everything else to look for the lost bag only to find it in his mum's car. A source from the sets informed Mumbai Mirror, "Sajid's mum entered the studio number 3 around 4 pm.
Within a few minutes she realised that her handbag was missing. According to the source, Sajid immediately halted the shoot and ordered a thorough search.
He was in fact heard shouting out orders to his staff. "Sajid told them 'mujhe nahi pata kaise bhi dhoondho meri mummy ka bag'.
He wanted everybody to look for the bag at that time," added the source. The bag, apparently, had around Rs 30,000 in cash, a few credit and debit cards and other valuables.
While a bag search was taking place on the sets, director Sajid Khan, who was busy filming the movie's climax with Akshay Kumar , Randhir Kapoor, Rishi Kapoor , Riteish Deshmukh , Shreyas Talpade , Zareen Khan, Mithun Chakraborty and Chunky Pandey, had to keep his actors waiting. "The stars had to keep waiting.
Everybody was busy looking for the missing handbag. Finally, after five hours, it was discovered that the bag was in Sajid Nadiadwala's mother's car.
She had forgotten to carry it along with her," said the source
(less)Nidhi Subbaiah debuts in Bollywood
Titled Oh My God, the film is produced by Akshay Kumar, who will also play a vital role in the film. A source says, "Nidhi's character is the only female element in this film, which has a bunch of very versatile actors in it.
The cast includes Paresh Rawal, Om Puri and Mahesh Manjrekar." Nidhi began filming yesterday and supposedly shared her first shot with Paresh Rawal.
About Akshay's association with the film, the source says, "Akshay is producing this film and will play the role of God in it." The film is based upon the comic Gujarati play, Kanji Viruddh Kanji, which has been made famous as Krishan v/s Kanhaiya by Paresh.
While Paresh will reprise the character that he essayed in the play, the rest of the cast has important roles in this laugh riot. When contacted, Nidhi said she was not allowed to discuss the film
(less)Jacqueline Fernandez is known as 'Jacky Bhabhi'
Mumbai Mirror has learnt that Jacqueline is being secretly referred by Sajid's family as 'Jacky Bhabhi'. "They have their differences like all couples.
But the marriage is definitely happening. What really binds them together is that they're both family-oriented.
He can give his life for his mother and sister. And Sajid loves the way Jacqueline looks after her parents," revealed a friend close to the family.
Farah choosing not to comment on the Sajid - Jackie wedding, informed, "To begin with, it was meant to be just nine people. And that included Sajid Nadiadwala and Akshay Kumar .
Finally, the intimate list of nine grew longer. Everyone who called to wish said they're coming home.

(less)Rs 20 cr for Akshay Kumar?
Apparently, 12 cr has already been paid to him as signing amount before the press advertisements were carried and another 8 cr will be paid to the actor before the principal photography starts." Akshay however denies the whole story.
He says, "I am the producer of Khiladi 786. My fee is zero because I will obviously get a share in the profits.
Besides I am doing a full-fledged role in the film and not a special appearance." Guess someone just jumped the gun! Akki's is the last word
(less)Sequels with different actors
..
Bollywood has witnessed a successful run of sequels to film series like Dhoom, Munnabhai, Golmaal, Hera Pheri and Murder to name a few. Even Hollywood is trying to earn big bucks with 75 sequels scheduled for release this year.
Maybe it is the tried and tested formula that attracts filmmakers, 2012 has a big line-up of sequels awaiting their fate at the box-office. Sajid Khan's Housefull 2, Kunal Deshmukh's Jannat 2, Ramesh Taurani's Race 2, Sachin Yardi's Kya Super Cool Hai Hum, Vikram Bhatt's Raaz 3 and 1920-The Evil Returns, Milan Luthria's Once Upon A Time in Mumbaai 2 are just a few sequels awaited this year.
As soon as a movie earns good moolah at the box office, a sequel to the movie is immediately announced. Says director Vikram Bhatt, "It is like the franchisee of any famous food outlet.
You know what food you will get there. Similarly if I talk about the Raaz franchise, people know that if there is a Raaz 3 being made, it will be about horror, love, lust and music.
" Following up a hit movie with a sequel has surely become a common trend. But in most movies, the actors are different from their respective prequels.
Ajay Devgn in Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai has been replaced with Akshay Kumar in the sequel. The leading ladies in Housefull have been replaced by Asin and Jaqueline Fernandes, Sonal Chauhan in Jannat has been replaced by Esha Gupta in the sequel.
Even the cast of Raaz 3, Race 2, Kya Super Cool Hai Hum and Dhoom 3 has changed according to the story. Director Sajid Khan says, "The reason why the movie is called Housefull 2 is because it belongs to the same brand franchisee.
It is not in any way connected to the original film. The story is different, so the characters are also different.
" New faces are seen portraying essential characters in these movies. Sanjay Khanduri's sequel to Ek Chaalis Ki Last Local has Viveik Oberoi and Mallika Sherawat in the lead roles.
Trade analyst Taran Adarsh feels that the sequels have a different plot vis-a-vis the earlier film and promise to deliver extra entertainment. He says, "This norm has been observed in Hollywood as well.
The sequels may or may not have the same actors. It depends on what the story demands.
It is all about the brand value of the film." But if the storyline and actors are different, why not have a different name altogether? Vikram Bhatt says, "It is all about selling an experience.
A person invests a lot of time and energy in making and marketing a movie. In sequels, more than half of the job is done.
It might go wrong also. People know what to expect.
When a family goes to watch a movie and shells out so much money, they would be happier to know what they'll see rather than it being a complete surprise." With sequels to Partner , Dostana , Ragini MMS , Rajneeti , Force , Rock On , No Entry , Judwaa , Tanu Weds Manu , Krrish , Ishqiya , Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster 2 and Ab Tak Chappan also declared as 'Coming Soon' in B-Town; whether these films with new stories and newer characters succeed in impressing the audience, only time will tell
(less)Possessive Saif takes offense to Bebo kissing Sylvester Stallone | Bollywood News and Gossip
Saif had been on the sets for many days and all was well till July 18, Sly’s first day on the set. Kareena, was like an excited school girl around him, which irritated Saif .
Bebo and Sly were to shoot for a scene where he saves her from a dangerous situation. After the rescue, Kareena threw her arms around Sly and kissed him smack on the cheek.
It is not clear if the kiss was part of the scene but it didn’t go down well with Saif. After the scene, an upset Saif who had seen the scene on the monitor was seen talking seriously to Kareena.
Saif took Kareena into a corner. She was overheard telling him that she simply did what was asked of her.
She also told Saif that she’d never complain if he did a kissing scene with his leading lady. At one point, she got irritated and snapped that he shouldn’t come on her sets if he couldn’t deal with her intimate scenes with other heroes.
They continued to argue till Saif walked out in a huff. But the much-in-love couple patched up soon afterwards.
Kareena’s best friend Amrita Arora who was on the sets that day was one of the witnesses to the Saif-Kareena fight. She was seen calming down Bebo after Saif stomped out.
By evening, the lovers patched up and Bebo was seen whispering sweet nothings into Saif’s ear at dinner. Kareena and Sajid remained unavailable for comment.
Stallone got along especially well with Akshay. They would spend hours discussing athletic workouts and diets.
Stallone seemed very impressed with Akshay and the fact that he had such a strong body without picking up any weights. Stallone’s diet consists of his food including proteins like tuna fish and Indian kebabs.

(less)The best way to survive is to be you
Christened Khiladi Kumar after his first blockbuster, Akshay Kumar slowly but steadily rose to stardom. Completing 20 years in Bollywood, the actor recalls his struggle to the top, marriage to superstar Rajesh Khanna’s daughter and missing his own father.
“I was in my gym swinging from the monkey bars, the day I officially completed 20 years in the industry. Honestly, I didn’t know what to feel.
Back then, I never thought I would still be making movies 20 years down the line. I remember taking my family for the first screening of my debut film thinking, ‘There you go, this is enough to make them proud’.
Their happiness gave me the strength and determination to try harder every day. At every screening, since my first, the smiles on their faces make all the pain and effort seem worthwhile,” recalls the actor.
Born in Amritsar, raised in Delhi and then working as a chef in Bangkok, Akshay had no connections to the film industry. And after his initial break, the actor had to try really hard to create his own space in the industry.
“No matter how much you are loved or respected, the minute you lose focus, or make a small mistake, people will tear you apart. One has to deal with it.
You give your best, stay immune to gossip and think only about your goal. “The best way to survive in this industry is to be the person ‘you’ want to be and do what ‘you’ feel is right,” adds the actor.
It was like a fairytale for Akshay when having found his foothold in the industry; he won the heart of superstar Rajesh Khanna’s daughter Twinkle. “Every man’s ultimate dream is to marry the woman he loves.
But for me, marrying a woman born to a world I could only dream about..
.was something else.
My soul mate was waiting for me here. Had I not made an effort to get where I am in life, I may never have met Twinkle - the one woman who made me the man I am and the father I was destined to be.
” Even after twenty years in the industry, Akshay doesn’t let people get too close to him. “No one has got close enough to use or abuse me and even if they did, I wouldn’t get too emotional about it.
The only thing I ever get emotional about is my family. I am kind to everyone but I trust no one.
That keeps me from getting hurt,” reveals the actor. Even today, the one person Akshay misses is his father, late Hariom Bhatia.
“I miss him more in happier times. When the going gets tough, I think about all that he ever taught me.
But in happier times, I miss him more. I miss not sharing my happiness with him.

(less)I want to do a negative role: Akshay Kumar
So I want to do such a role," Akshay told IANS. The actor, who will be seen in fun film " Desi Boyz " with John Abraham , was last seen in a negative role in "Ajnabee" in 2001
(less)Asin wants to act with Rajinikanth

(less)Akshay Kumar's apology call to Abhishek Bachchan
And now we hear that Akshay Kumar called Abhishek to apologise for the same. A source revealed, "Akshay said 'Sorry' to Abhishek.
He respects Aishwarya and the Bachchan family a lot. He is naturally very embarrassed about Russell's remarks.
" Apparently, Kumar, who made the call last weekend, took Abhishek by surprise. "It was definitely not Akshay's fault.
It was a very kind gesture on Akshay's part. Abhishek told him to take it easy.
After the call, Akshay felt a lot lighter," added the source. When previously contacted, Virmani told Mumbai Mirror, "I have no control over what Russell says.
What he says is not reflective of our opinion or what the film is all about. Aishwarya is a fantastic actress and a legend.
I apologise for his comments." Despite repeated attempts, both Akshay and Abhishek, remained unavailable for comment

(less)Will Priyanka Chopra be outcast?
& Mrs. Khanna and now, we hear, it's SRK who'll keep his distance from the wonderful actor if his family life has to return to normal.
Apparently, Gauri Khan, it is being touted, isn't keen that SRK work with PC! This usually happens with star wives - Twinkle warned Akshay Kumar against working with Priyanka Chopra after rumours of an affair on the sets of Aitraaz surfaced, Mahima Chaudhary and Suniel Shetty didn't work together on the behest of Mana Shetty, Hrithik and Kareena have stayed away from each other thanks to Susanne Roshan. And now wethinks the PC and SRK jodi isn't going to be seen anytime soon on the silver-screen.
But then never say never in the world of showbiz
(less)I am kind to everyone, but trust no one: Akshay Kumar
Christened Khiladi Kumar after his first blockbuster, Akshay Kumar slowly but steadily rose to stardom. Completing 20 years in Bollywood, the actor recalls his struggle to the top, marriage to superstar Rajesh Khanna's daughter and missing his own father.
"I was in my gym swinging from the monkey bars, the day I officially completed 20 years in the industry. Honestly, I didn't know what to feel.
Back then, I never thought I would still be making movies 20 years down the line. I remember taking my family for the first screening of my debut film thinking, 'There you go, this is enough to make them proud'.
Their happiness gave me the strength and determination to try harder every day. At every screening, since my first, the smiles on their faces make all the pain and effort seem worthwhile," recalls the actor.
Born in Amritsar, raised in Delhi and then working as a chef in Bangkok , Akshay had no connections to the film industry. And after his initial break, the actor had to try really hard to create his own space in the industry.
"No matter how much you are loved or respected, the minute you lose focus, or make a small mistake, people will tear you apart. One has to deal with it.
You give your best, stay immune to gossip and think only about your goal. "The best way to survive in this industry is to be the person 'you' want to be and do what 'you' feel is right," adds the actor.
It was like a fairytale for Akshay when having found his foothold in the industry; he won the heart of superstar Rajesh Khanna's daughter Twinkle. "Every man's ultimate dream is to marry the woman he loves.
But for me, marrying a woman born to a world I could only dream about..
.was something else.
My soul mate was waiting for me here. Had I not made an effort to get where I am in life, I may never have met Twinkle - the one woman who made me the man I am and the father I was destined to be.
" Even after twenty years in the industry, Akshay doesn't let people get too close to him. "No one has got close enough to use or abuse me and even if they did, I wouldn't get too emotional about it.
The only thing I ever get emotional about is my family. I am kind to everyone but I trust no one.
That keeps me from getting hurt," reveals the actor. Even today, the one person Akshay misses is his father, late Hariom Bhatia.
"I miss him more in happier times. When the going gets tough, I think about all that he ever taught me.
But in happier times, I miss him more. I miss not sharing my happiness with him.
Every day I wish my father could see me with my son Aarav. That's when I miss him the most.
Work is work, but family is for life. That's what really matters to me," concludes the Khiladi of Bollywood.

(less)Firoz Nadiadwala join hands with Hillary Clinton
One is human trafficking (HT) and the second is environmental degradation. According to UN estimates, USD 32 billion is the money earned every year when innocent women and children are trafficked.
1.8 million people are being sold every year.
"My colleagues in the film and television industry and I will work closely with the US Department of State to eradicate this menace," says Firoz. The other cause for concern is the number of women who lose their lives because they rely on cooking fires in non-urban areas.
The fires release CO2 and the toxic fumes lead to lung cancer, low birth rates, cataracts, bronchitis, TB, etc. In a bid to reduce these health hazards, Nadiadwala is getting Bollywood involved in providing cooking stoves to women in rural areas of the country.
On the work front The Nadiadwala scion is currently engaged in a 1,000-acre eco-friendly development that will offer all facilities related to films, television, the hotel industry, education, health care, sports, recreation, cargo, retail, offices and residence on the Panvel-Pune belt in Maharashtra. "The film studio will provide the necessary creative and technical infrastructure for the film and television industry,'' he promises.
"This project is being done by an arm of my company called Nadiadwala Entertainment Technology (NET)." His film company AG Nadiadwala has dominated Bollywood for five decades with superhits like Hera Pheri and Welcome in its repertoire.
Besides Aarakshan, which released last Friday, Firoz also has in the pipeline Rajkumar Santoshi's Power with a cast including Amitabh Bachchan , Anil Kapoor, Ajay Devgn and Sanjay Dutt, and two breezy comedies with Anees Bazmee. He has also signed three Hollywood filmmakers for Indo-US projects, but will wait to open those cards at a later date

(less)I would like to try comedy: Mahie Gill
I feel lucky to have worked with some very good actors and directors. Also I feel proud to have done some female-oriented subjects as well, but at the same time I would like to try comedy too which I have not done till now.
" So what kind of a comedy role she would like to opt for? "Well, something interesting like 'Hera Pheri', but not a slapstick one," she says. The actress, who's also waiting for her next release 'Sahib Biwi Aur Gangster' opposite Randeep Hooda, says, "I am just waiting for 'Sahib Biwi' to release.
This flick is inspired by yesteryears film's 'Sahib Bibi Aur Gulam'. Though the characterisation is the same but the film is different; it's today's film.
" Seek her comment on the much-talked about kissing scene with co-star Randeep Hooda and she clarifies, "I know, I was misquoted as saying 'it was easier to smooch Randeep over Deepak'. That's not true.
What I meant to say was that the kissing scene with Randeep was easy because that was shot at the end of the film, while with Deepak it was shot on the very first day. So I was not comfortable.

(less)'Desi Boyz' go from chic to distressed look
Hence it was a task for the designers to make sure they style two different looks of the lead actors. Arora has styled John, who plays a banker in the film, and admits his look has been inspired by Shia LaBeouf's "Wall Street" look.
"John plays a confident banker in the film who is a perfect guy and is about to get married. So it was necessary to dress him up in a way that he is comfortable in and that goes well with his character as well," Arora told IANS.
"As the film is based in London we did a lot of shopping from designer stores. In fact, John's look is inspired by Hollywood actor Shia LaBeouf's look in 'Wall Street'," she said.
Arora has also designed for John in "Force" and so for the corporate look, she has given him chic, stylish clothing. "I have given him suits with banker shirts.
Banker shirts are the ones with white collar and white cuffs, which is accompanied by Oxford ties and pocket handkerchief that completes the corporate look," she said. And as John loses job in the film, the designer has given him a distressed look.
"For the distressed look, he will be seen wearing fun t-shirts, torn, distressed jeans and leather jackets along with worn out boots," said Shymali, adding she has used charcoal grey, blue and black colours for the actor. Similarly, designer Kunal Rawal, who has designed for Akshay in the film, has given two different looks to the 44-year-old actor.
"As Akshay is playing the role of a young London guy. It was important for me to bring those elements, but since I have been in London before, I didn't face much difficulty in understanding the style of the people here," said Rawal.
"Akshay's character in the film goes through an interesting emotional graph so I have used different looks in the film. From glossy look, his outfits shift to peppier ones," he added.
"In the first half of the film, Askhay will be seen in a lot of graphic t-shirts, t-shirts with slogans, winter jackets, denims in lighter tones and fire-fighter pants," Rawal said, adding he has also created a jacket with a sequined tiger at the back for him. And when Akshay's character goes through the lean phase of recession, the actor will be seen sporting love t-shirts, over shirts, blazers and jackets.
"For the colour palette, I have used steel grey, beach blue, purple, black and reds. I haven't given him belts, his outfits have suspenders attached to them," he said.
Rawal also admits that he did visit various designer stores to research, but ended up creating fresh outfits for the actor. "I like to create my own outfits.
For Akshay I have tried to make clothes that are fresh and classy. Designing for Bollywood is different as you are catering to a large number of people.
So it is important that the looks that you design are fresh and exclusive," he said. Directed by Rohit Dhawan, "Desi Boyz" also features Deepika Padukone and Chitrangada Singh and releases Nov 25
