Azim looks up to Salman, SRK and Aamir Khan
To make his character in "Qasam Se Qasam Se" appear realistic, Azim frequented call centre offices to absorb the finer nuances of the people working there. "It was quite a relevation for me as an actor.
I witnessed not only people's mannerisms but also the activities they indulge in during the break hour. Looking into the mirror, some guys would be busy ruffling their hair and taking care of their looks, while some would busy binging.
And there would others catching up with family and friends over their cell phones. This has helped shaped my character in the film.
" Azim feels that all our veteran actors were keen observers and would translate that on screen. "Whether it were the legendary actors like Dilip Kumar or the late Raj Kapoor or Dev Anand , they were schools in themselves.
I am a great fan of Salman Khan , Shah Rukh Khan and Aamir Khan and look at them as a student who looks upon his guru. I am mastering the art of acting watching their films," he smiles

I have to be there for all the pre-wedding arrangements so going for our honeymoon this month seems impossible now."
(less)I never thought I'd be a desirable woman: Sameera Reddy
"My name in the list means a lot to me. As as a young girl, I never thought even in my wildest dreams that I would become a desirable woman.
I yearned for a perfect body as I was ugly duckling in school. But now that I have entered films, I believe that beauty is hidden in the imperfections of people and it all depends on how you use them.
That's my definition of desirable and I am glad to have made it to the list," says Sameera. The actor is basking in the success of her last Tamil release opposite Madhavan and has Padma Shri Priyadarshan's Tezz to look forward to.
Sameera has now decided that she will do a mix of performance-oriented and glamorous characters on screen, something that Simran and Jyothika did in Kollywood. So is the report true that Sameera wants to become the next Simran and Jyothika? "You cannot become another person.
I had said that I look up to both Simran and Jyothika, who had a mixed bag of roles- performance-oriented and cute characters. Both had their own fan following .
They are my role models and I want to have a beautiful lineup of characters like them," says the actor
(less)Sherlyn Chopra likes being unconventional
Be it politics, cinema, sports, business or any other arena, women across the globe including India are in great form mentally, physically and consciously to undertake greater responsibilities and tougher challenges that are often encountered on paths less travelled." Sherlyn is also happy that she has gone from being just a pin-up girl to an entrepreneur.
Says she, "The rapid metamorphosis in my case would not have been possible had the mindsets of the majority of the people in the Hindi film industry continued to be goverened by prejudices. I look upto entrepreneurs who command respect and attention for daring to think out of the box and act accordingly.
They do not have a herd mentality. What they have is unadulterated creativity which is set on fire by courage.
" Naming films like " The Dirty Picture ", " Erin Brokovich ", " No One Killed Jessica "," The Black Swan " as cinema that has changed the way we think, Sherlyn says, "Unconventionality is no longer a taboo. It is being applauded and celebrated by both the classes and the masses.
The pulse of the youth is racing towards liberalisation. And I'm truly loving it.
" Asked why she decided to give us photographs that resembled those of the " Jism 2 " campaign, the actor quips, "I have pushed the envelope by choosing to cover my nakedness with nothing but pure consciousness."

(less)Flash mob greets Imran at New York University
"I had a blast at NYU. Everyone was so enthusiastic, they put on a very polished, confident show, and the surprise flash mob at the end was perfectly executed.
My best wishes to all the students involved," Imran said in a statement. The students had been practising for the performance for over two weeks, ahead of Imran's visit to New York as part of the promotional tour.
"As the president of NYU Dillagi, a Bollywood dance team, I knew we had to have simpler steps that the general public would be able to do and we sent videos out to the public. I thought that the flash mob came out even better than expected since people kept joining the mob throughout the sequence and it definitely surprised those that did not know of it ahead of time," Mohit Chhatpar, coordinator of the flash mob, said.
"It was really fun to be doing a flash mob and having Imran among us was all the more fun. He was very sporting and interacted with the students.
We are excited about this movie as well and are glad he could come and be among us to talk about his movie," he added. The Dharma Productions' film, also starring Kareena Kapoor, is set to hit theatres Feb 10.

"It's been 20 years for that film. So, obviously now I will have to upgrade this story.
It will be the same realistic love story but with a modern theme," Suri told IANS. Aashiqui won critical accolades after its release at the time.
It also catapulted the careers of lead actors Rahul Roy and Anu Agarwal, who forayed into Bollywood with this film. Suri is also set to hunt for new faces for the sequel.
"I will cast fresh faces with a new boy and a new girl," said Mohit. While some are referring to Aashiqui 2 as a sequel, others are calling it a remake.
However, producer Mukesh Bhatt of Vishesh Films sets the record straight. "It is neither a sequel nor a remake.
It can be said as the musical series of Aashiqui ..
.a new generation is making this film," he said.

(less)Guard steals Rs 6 lakh from Salman's bodyguard
The accused Arvind Kumar Suresh Pathak is a native of Farfara in Allahabad, and is now absconding. Posted at Fun Republic multiplex as a security supervisor on Sunday night, Pathak had been appointed to man the box where the cash collected from ticket sales had been stored.
He was assisted by an unidentified accomplice, who went into the cash room to collect the money. He then slinked away with the sum, unnoticed by the other guards.
Once the theft was discovered, evidence incriminating Pathak was obtained from CCTV footage of the theatre. "The security guard was aware that a surveillance camera was recording his moves, and thus he tried to reach up and cover the lens.
However, failing to do so, he tied a bandana to cover his face," said API Kane of the Amboli police station. "Three teams have been formed to nab Pathak.
He could not be traced at the address that he registered with the security agency. The guard had lately been sleeping at the multiplex quarters," said Vishwas Nagre Patil, ACP (Western Region).

(less)I'm very heterosexual: Ranbir Kapoor
The actor who was in town to unveil the poster of his forthcoming film gets candid about his love for women, the late Shammi Kapoor, working with Nargis Fakhri, South star Ileana and more. Ranbir who has been making headlines for his various link-ups, says he enjoys the casanova tag, but wishes his life was actually as "exaggerated" as they make it out to be.
"Initially it was embarrassing. Now, it's okay.
I enjoy it sometimes. Not everything written is a lie though.
Eighty per cent of it is the truth, the exaggerated version, of course. They make my life out to be more glamorous than it actually is.
On the contrary, I lead a very simple life. I wake up, brush my teeth, go to work and come back home," says Ranbir.
So, is the actor currently seeing someone or is he single? "Yes I am single, I'm not married and I love women. I'm very heterosexual, so dating women is something I'm not ashamed of.
But my love life is not as exciting as it is reported to be." But did this charming lover-boy have his heart broken? "Of course, everyone has.
The pain is however, not as melodramatic as it is in the movies. One day, when I was speaking to director Imtiaz, he summed up the film beautifully in these few lines - 'In life, there is that one person whom you deeply love and that same person can also destroy you, but this is what makes you who you are.
And the film is about that journey'," says the 28-year old Kapoor lad. The actor, who was also linked to his "Rockstar" co-star Nargis Fakhri, can't stop raving about her.
"Nargis told me that the day she first met Imtiaz, it took her probably three hours to know him completely. They shared their life stories with each other.
The kind of work she has put into this film, considering she has never acted in her life and has hardly watched any Hindi films, amazed us. She is the surprise of this film.
" Ranbir, who recently lost his grand uncle Shammi Kapoor, recalls how he and Imtiaz "conned" the veteran actor into playing a small but pivotal role in "Rockstar". "It was only justified that we rope in the original rockstar of Indian cinema for a film like this.
Imtiaz and I decided that he would be perfect for the small but pivotal role of a shehnai player called Ustad. But he was not too physically fit.
Imtiaz and I landed up at his place and offered him the movie. He was reluctant, but we conned him into doing it," says Ranbir .
"The sets would come alive when he was around. He'd come prepared with his dialogues and would never complain, despite his condition.
Everyone was happiest when Mr Shammi Kapoor was on the sets." Currently, Ranbir is also busy shooting for "Barfi" starring Priyanka Chopra and South star Ileana, who will be making her B-Town debut with this flick.
When quizzed about working with Ileana, he says, "It is always great to work with somebody who is good at their job and doesn't take their stardom for granted. I've not interacted too much with Ileana, but she is approaching her first Hindi film with a lot of confidence, sincerity and honesty.

(less)Rajinikanth fans miffed with The Dirty Picture
And this time the moviemakers have faced the wrath of some Rajinikanth fans. If the buzz around this issue is to be believed, NaseeruddinShah's character in "The Dirty Picture" is inspired by the Tamil superstar.
That Naseer is playing a superstar in the film, is common knowledge. The film's teaser doing the rounds shows Vidya Balan performing an item number with him.
But what is also common is that Rajinikanth too is a superstar and he too acted with Silk in various movies, in which she had special item numbers with the actress. Drawing a parallel between the two, fans of Rajinikanth are now demanding removal of those scenes that in anyway show Naseer (and thus Rajini) in a bad light.
The makers of the film however have denied any resemblance to the South star, saying that Naseer is playing an ageing star in the film whereas Rajini was in his prime when he worked with Silk. But fans are in no mood to relent.
They have threatened the filmmakers with dire consequences if their superstar is portrayed in a bad manner

He was caught in a compromising position with one of the many revelers at the do. The police raided the party after the neighbours complained about the loud music that was being played.
"The cops came rather unexpectedly, just when every person at the party was having his share of fun. They stopped the party and made a few arrests as well.
Bobby too was led away by them," informed a source. "Bobby was petrified when he realised that the cops were booking him for indecent behaviour.
He tried to argue with them in vain. The police knew what they were doing," added the source.
The actor who was caught in an indecent position at the party, however tried to defend himself. "I was not indulging in any immoral act.
It was just that the plice swooped down at the party and took us away. I happened to be one of those taken to the police station.
But I was soon let off. You see, I had gone to the party as a celebrity.
I was paid for it quite well," said Bobby Darling. Irritated at being linked up to the gay party, the actor added, "What you also need to understand is that I am not physically attracted to gay men.
Yes, I do have a soft corner for them and the transgenders. However, I have never had any physical relation with gay men.
That is also because I believe I am a girl. In my past also, I have always had romantic relationships with straight men only.
" When contacted, Assistant Inspector Sanjay More of Oshiwara Police Station told Mumbai Mirror, "Yes, we did arrest Bobby Darling. And we charged him for indecent behaviour.
He was let off in the morning after he paid a bail of Rs 12,500."

(less)I know I am sexy: Ameesha Patel
. does it make you feel superior to others? I know I am sexy.
But being sexy is all about attitude, not body type. It's a state of mind.
To me, an intelligent girl with a positive attitude and a great smile is sexy..
. and she could well be wearing a salwar-kameez.
In our profession, sometimes being overtly sexy can be a handicap. You don't really know if the men are just looking at you as a sex kitten or actually paying attention to you.
But yes, I am glad I can carry off a sensuous avatar on screen. I work on my body to stay fit, but that does not make me superior to anyone.
I am a forthright and hardworking girl. Your Miss-Goody-Two-Shoes image has withered.
The whip is now in your hands..
. I have struggled a lot and put in tremendous amounts of hard work to reach this phase in my life.
Believe me, it's not easy being an actress and a producer, especially with no big daddy to support you. I love the fact that I am not arriving on someone else's sets.
I have a say on when the camera will roll and what it will shoot. I am proud that I did not succumb to industry pressures or bend my morals.
You have bagged a steamy role in " Race 2 ". Age doesn't seem to be catching up.
Yes, I will be seen in "Race 2" soon. As for my looks, my friends keep telling me that with every new candle added on my birthday cake, I regress in age.
I think it's the effects of positivity within me. I eat healthy, I don't smoke and follow a good exercise regime.
I have always been my grandmother's pet child. She passed away at 92 but didn't look a day over 60.
Looking back, you went underground post "Kaho Na Pyaar Hai" and "Gadar". Do you regret losing out on meaty roles in the years since? I never really went without action.
"Kaho Na..
." and "Gadar" have been top grossers in the Hindi film industry.
I played Saif Ali Khan's love interest in "Thoda Pyaar Thoda Magic" (remember "Lazy Lamhe"), and "Bhool Bhulaiyaa" was a hit too. I was approached for "Billu" but the role finally went to Lara Dutta.
Priyadarshan felt I looked too young to play a mother to two kids. If you could turn back time, what would you erase from the past? Honestly, I would erase nothing.
Life is all about evolution. What looks like a mistake to others has been a milestone in my life.
Even if people have betrayed me, even if my heart was broken, even if people misunderstood or judged me, I have learned from these incidents. We are human and we make mistakes, but learning from them is what makes the difference.
I have learned to live my life from my grandmother. Her fire and grit showed me the way ahead.
Not too long ago, Bipasha Basu and you wore the same dress at a red carpet event. How did you take that? I had got this dress specially made by my friend and designer Ramona Narang Rodella.
The mix up wasn't her fault. Apparently, some junior assistant gave away the same dress in a different colour for a film with Bipasha, but she decided to wear it on the red carpet.
No actress wants to be in a situation like this obviously, and people went a little crazy writing about it, but Bips and I laughed it off. I am over that incident.
Your sartorial preference is known to be sexy..
. I have had a fabulous upbringing.
My family lived in Mumbai and London , and we travelled all the time. The exposure really boosted my confidence and dressing style.
I am not a fashion victim. I pick what I feel comfortable in.
I love shoes and handbags. In fact, I have an enviable collection.
I love dressing up. I know what suits me and looking sexy is a compliment.
Dressing up and looking good is effortless for me. How do you keep in shape and take care of your long tresses and skin? I eat healthy, work out and sleep well.
I don't go overboard and do not abuse my body. I use besan on my skin, oil my hair and use raw eggs as a pack.
I also like to hit the spa when I can. I go for facials and massages too.
Anyone you fall back on during bad times? I have a set of 10-15 rock solid friends. I laugh with them, cry with them and often seek their advice.
I can count on them always. My business partner Kuunal Goomer is my best friend.
We share the same tastes in music, fashion and films. And finally, when my production house Ameesha Patel Productions happened, we became a natural team.
What kind of space are you in right now? I am a child, but I am sorted. I know my priorities and values.
I stay happy by doing things my way. I celebrate my birthday with a lot of excitement, like a child.
..
sending out invitations six months in advance! I enjoy the whole drama of cutting a cake, singing songs, dancing and then unwrapping presents. It's the fun element in our lives that keeps us going.
I have decided to make films that can entertain the entire family. It's time to bring back the 'Fun Day' concept.
And you know what, I will damn well do it!

(less)Another Kannada actor, Prasantha, accused of assaulting wife
The accused had been slapped with a case of dowry harassment at the Halasuru Gate Women's Police Station last month. However, since then, she claims that she received no help on the matter from the cops.
On Monday (October 24, 2011), Shashirekha learnt that her husband has been living with another woman. She barged into the flat and dragged him to the local Sanjaynagar Police Station, but the actor reportedly jumped the compound wall of the police station and managed to escape.
"He used to beat me up severely earlier, but last month he crossed the line. That is why I approached the Halasuru Gate Women's Police cell.
Since then, he left home and was on the run. I came to know that he has been staying in Dollars Colony with another woman," said Shashirekha.
Following this incident, Shashirekha claims that the cops at the Sanjaynagar police station refused to listen to her pleas and did not arrest Prasanth. Later, she approached Police Commissioner Jyotiprakash Mirji.
Shashirekha has filed a complaint against the Sanjaynagar police station with the police commissioner office for assisting in her husband's escape. Sources from the Sanjaynagar police station, however, claimed that the couple never came to the station.
The matter is now under investigation and the actor is untraceable. Prashanth and Shashirekha have been married for eight years and have a five-year-old child.

(less)It will be incomplete without Sanju: Ameesha
Q: You have opened the production house Ameesha Patel Production with your best friend, Kuunal Goomer. Is it a good idea to mix business with friendship? Ameesha: While I was apprehensive about starting my business ventures with my other friends, with Kuunal I knew it would only grow into something better.
After God if I trust someone it is Kuunal. It was his dream to start this production house.
He felt that I was wasting my education and I needed to do more with myself. Q: Both the directors you have signed Priyadarshan and David Dhawan didn't have a good run at the box office, recently.
Ameesha: But they have also given 40 hits. We are honoured to have them on board.
Being in this industry for 12 years, I have gone though the valleys and the peaks and seen the cyclical changes. When Amitabh Bachchan and Shah Rukh Khan can be written off, who are we? Therefore, we don't judge anyone from their last hits and flops.
Q: Will you act in all your home ventures? Ameesha: Yes, because I am young, pretty and a good actress. But our doors are open to all the talented actors.
I am also working in movies outside my home production like Race 2, Shortcut Romeo, Bhaiyyaji Superhit with Sunny Deol. Q: Will your good friend Sanjay Dutt act in your film? Ameesha: My production house would be incomplete if Sanju was not part of it.
Even if he is not on the mind of any director, we will make sure that there is a special role written for him. Q: How do you react to your detractors who say that Ameesha has opened her production house because no one else is giving her work? Q: Is it easier to go get work or to get hundred crore to fund yourself? Q: You think you got your due as an actor? Ameesha: Not at all but I will get it now.
Q: What went wrong? Ameesha: I did not have brains and circumstances did not allow me to take my career in the right direction. I was not a filmy kid and I came around the time when all the star kids including Kareena and Hrithik were being launched.
I had to crawl while they were already running. I am still from outside and I don't have a godfather.
I did not even have a filmy boyfriend to push me for roles. No Salman was my boyfriend, no Akshay Kumar, none of them.
Even Kuunal is from the non-filmy background. Q: Who is your Prince Charming? Ameesha: After some terrible mistakes I am still waiting for my Prince Charming.
I have never changed men to suit my career. I am a sucker for love.
Q: Will you be able to convince your friends like Hrithik and Shah Rukh who are very busy to work in your films? Ameesha: So many producers want David Dhawan and Priyadarshan but we managed to rope them. Likewise if we have a role for Hrithik or Shah Rukh we are confident enough to get them.

" According to Pathak the film will go on floor once the elections are over in UP. Neeraj, who had visited the city twice last year while doing recce for the film, says, "Sunny will be in a never-seen-before avatar, and I want to keep it a surprise for the audience.
As far as the other cast goes, we have decided on Ameesha Patel as the main lead since Sunny and Ameesha make the best pair on screen. They are coming together after nearly a decade.
Actually, we want to recreate the magic of "Gadar" in our film. Apart from Sunny and Ameesha, the film also stars Arshad Warsi and Tusshar Kapoor, and the direcor says Priety Zinta is also being considered for a role.
Pathak and Sunny have last worked together in "Right Yaaa Wrong". Another interesting thing, from a UP perspective, according to the director, is that the film will have an actor from UP, Pankaj Tripathy, seen recently in "Agneepath", playing an important role
(less)Singham screening for Goa cops
Rohit got a call from his producer from Goa who told him the DGP Aditya Arya in Goa wanted to show the film to the the Goa police. After the show, Rohit got a call from the Goa DGP who wanted to personally thank him for making such a film on them and added that at last someone had made a good film on the police force showing them in the right light.
For Rohit it was quite a big honour. He's shot five films before "Singham", but never has a film of his got such reactions, love and respect.
About the call that Rohit received from the DGP, he says, ""Singham" has got me a lot love and respect!" Mr Arya told Rohit, 'I want to thank you on behalf of the entire police force. You have actually shown cops as heroes and thus helped in motivating the police a lot.
' Earlier also the director has had quite a few emotional moments when airport cops have come to him and said 'Hamne "Singham" dekha and thank you for making such a film.' Rohit says he hadn't expected this kind of a positive reaction from the police and the audience when he made the film.
On asking him about his favourite scene from the blockbuster film, says the director, "The scene of Ashok Saraf - when he breaks down is close to my heart as it's taken from a real life scenario. Our hawaldars do more than 18 hours of duty and yet get less than what a corporate office peon does.

(less)I’ve always been skinny: Anushka Sharma
Thanks to Kareena Kapoor's 'well-rounded' look in "Chammak Challo" and Vidya Balan's super-voluptuous avatar in "The Dirty Picture", Bollywood seems to believe in 'the more the better'. However, there's one gal, who's still stuck at the size-zero junction.
Reportedly Anushka Sharma's heading towards a lean-mean figure and trimming down rapidly. When zoOm quizzed Anushka about her drastic weight-loss, she quipped, "Aisi koi baat nahi hai.
I've always been skinny. I was skinnier in my modelling days, and that's my body type.
But I'm pretty strong." Hmm, we wanted to throw in a couple of questions about her link-ups, catfights etc, but we'll leave it for another day.
We don't want all that strength coming down on us now, do we? For more Bollywood news and gossip, keep watching "Planet Bollywood News" every night at 7, only on zoOm - India's No. 1 Bollywood channel
(less)Amy Winehouse refused therapy: doctor
Romete told an inquest in London on Wednesday, "(Winehouse was) opposed to any sort of psychological therapy..
. She was one of the most intelligent young women I've ever met.
She was very determined to do everything her way, including her therapy. She had very strict views on that.
" Romete also insisted she wasn't worried about Winehouse taking her own life as the star had been making future plans the night before her death. "I was not concerned that she was suicidal.
She was looking forward to the future and we were discussing plans for her upcoming birthday party. She had previously said she did not want to die and said that night, 'I have not achieved things I wanted to do'," she added.

(less)Richa drops her Bollywood film
Shortcut Romeo is the remake of the Tamil hit Thiruttu Payale , which was directed by Susi Ganesan. The Hindi version has Neil Nitin Mukesh and Ameesha Patel in the lead roles.
Richa was to play the role that Sonia Agarwal had played in the Tamil version. "Before I signed the film, both the director and the actor were flexible with the dates and I had also informed them that I would be simultaneously doing a Telugu project.
But after the agreement was signed and film confirmed, Neil Nithin Mukesh was slightly pushy about the dates and wanted me to commit for three full months for this film," says the actress. The upset actress has even explained her situation to them.
"In fact, they promised to close the shoot by February. But it's already December and the shooting is yet to start," added the actress.
However, Richa is inclined to do the movie. "I really liked the script and the photoshoot has also been done.
But because of a simple logistics issue, I had to terminate the agreement. It's formally over now.
Presently, I'm doing only a Telugu project," the actress informed. Tweet
(less)Genelia D’Souza is married to John Abraham | Bollywood News and Gossip
A source reveals, “There’s a scene in Force where the lead pair get married. Instead of a junior artiste, they called a real pandit for the scene.
” Following the reports of Riteish and Genelia planning marriage, Bhagwat landed up at the producer’s office to register a complaint. “He insisted that she couldn’t get married as she was already married to John!” Pandit Bhagwat says he was asked to perform the rituals authentically by director Nishikant Kamat.
“John and Genelia are husband and wife,” he says, adding, “I need to make them understand that I have pronounced the mantras one does at a real wedding. Everything from wearing a mangalsutra, to exchanging garlands and taking the saat pheras has been done.
” Producer Vipul Amrutlal Shah says, “The pandit is now mad at us for getting him involved in this scene. He’s treating it like a real wedding, but I want to make him understand that that’s not the case.
In my entire career, I’ve never experienced anything of this sort!” Sphere: Related Content Posted in
(less)Ranbir Kapoor's loss, Prateik Babbar's gain
The entire unit vouches for the twosome being absolutely smitten with one another. Do we see Smita Patil smiling down from heaven? Says director Gautham Menon, "Our film is getting a positive vibe.
People are saying the lead pair is looking good together." And to think it could have been Ranbir Kapoor romancing Amy in 'Ek Deewana Tha'.
Gautham Menon is one of Tamil cinema's leading lights of filmmaking. But in Mumbai Ranbir Kapoor doesn't know him, nor wish to work with him.
Apparently when Menon wished to approach Ranbir for his new Hindi film, the star refused to meet him. Embarrassed to talk about his failure to connect with the Kapoor star the hurt and angry Menon, who has worked with the likes of Kamal Haasan, Madhavan and Suriya in the South, finally admits, "Ranbir was my first choice for 'Ek Deewana Tha'.
I tried to get in touch in with. Forget about meeting Ranbir.
I couldn't even meet his secretary. Yes, even the secretary refused to meet me.
" This is when Gautham turned away, his pride and dignity seriously challenged, to sign Prateik for the film. Says Menon, "One reason why I've taken 11 years to make my second Hindi film is because I am comfortable working with the stars in the South, as they are with me.
In Mumbai, I feel like a stranger. In fact I've had a number of offers to direct Hindi films.
Vipul Shah wanted me to do the Hindi adaptation of my film 'Kaakha Kaakha'. I declined the offer.
Nishikant Kamat directed the remake 'Force'." Now after his bitter experience with Ranbir Menon has become even more wary of Mumbai and its stars.
Menon can take solace in company. Increasingly a wide spectrum of director are complaining about how inaccessible Ranbir has become.
Sudhir Mishra wanted to cast Ranbir in 'Driver' . He's been waiting for months for a meeting.
Raj Kumar Santoshi wanted to do a sequel to 'Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani' with Ranbir. Katrina Kaif was willing.
Ranbir was not. Incidentally, Ranbir loves romancing half-foreigners on screen: Katrina Kaif in 'Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani', Sarah Thompson in 'Raajneet' and Nargis Fakhri in 'Rockstar'
His boss Shera has been contacted for details that he might have been provided with, while employing the 30-year-old accused. Tweet
(less)Ameesha, Sunny reunite after 10 years
And now, Mumbai Mirror has learnt that producer Fauzia Arshi and director Neeraj Pathak are keen on cashing in on the dynamic duo in their action thriller Bhaiyyaji Superhit, under the Daily Multimedia banner. A friend close to the director revealed that the male leads in the film were confirmed, but finding a female lead proved to be a major challenge.
Pathak's friend explained how the decision to cast Ameesha opposite Sunny came about, saying, "Sunny, Arshad and Tusshar were brought on-board some time ago. But, Fauzia and Neeraj spent a lot of time deliberating about which actress to approach to essay the female lead in the film.
It then occurred to them that Sunny and Ameesha were an outstanding on-screen couple in Gadar: Ek Prem Katha. Also, she seemed like the apt choice for the character.
" When contacted, Arshi confirmed the news, "We had to start shooting in January. We had finalised the entire cast with Sunny, Arshad and Tusshar, but we could not finalise the female lead.
We brainstormed a lot of options. When Ameesha's name came up, everyone loved the idea of having her on-board.
And so, she will start shooting for Bhaiyyaji Superhit in the first week of January."
(less)Ameesha's next with Neil Nitin Mukesh
Ameesha is all enthusiasticto play the role of a rich, glamorous girl in the film. And Neil's character of a local rowdy goon will be reminiscent of his "Johnny Gaddar" days.
This fast-paced thriller promises to be full ofconspiracy, betrayal and love angles. "The drama unfolds like agame of chess," says Ameesha.
Under the working title of "Shortcut Romeo",shooting is scheduled tostartnext month. Multitasking in her new role of an actor-turned-producer, she confesses to have little time to relax and is concentrating full-time on making fun films with David Dhawan and Priyadarshan.
"There's another surprise coming from my production house soon," she signs off excitedly
(less)I am very fond of Rana: Bipasha
But Bipasha does not bat an eye-lid while talking about them. And having lost oodles of weight, she is looking a million bucks.
Over steaming cups of coffee at a suburban five-star, she spoke to Mumbai Mirror about her career, men and moves Feeling good about your next film Players? Very much. While it is felt that I was added only recently, the truth is that I was cast long back.
It is just that the cat wasn't let out from the bag. The film has all the Abbas-Mustan ingredients- the twists, turns, plots.
I play an automobile expert who uses her charms to get things done. And you've donned a bikini in it.
We last saw you in a two-piece in Dhoom 2..
. It is the second time on celluloid yes, but the millionth time in real life (laughs).
I am quite a beach bum. But I won't wear a bikini in a movie for just the heck of it.
Do you know that I said 'No' to wearing one in Rohan Sippy's Dum Maro Dum? Players is a James Bondish flick, very fast and furious. The bikini suits it.
There's more on this bikini..
. Sure.
..
I wanted to look like a total woman before I got into it. I told Abbas-Mustan to inform me a month prior to the day they want me for that particular scene.
Once they sounded me off, I did some beach-body training. I am very small around my lower body; I put on some muscle to look fuller.
And I went on a diet, which sucks. I am a full-on Bong and I badly wanted gulab jamuns and jalebis on many days, lekin nahin khaya.
You wear a bikini but you don't like to kiss on screen? Your information is right. But isn't kissing very different from wearing a bikini? Kissing is also very different from doing a lovemaking scene, where we just cheat.
We don't make out in real, do we? Locking lips is a very intimate emotion. Yes, I did kiss Ranbir in Bachna Ae Haseeno, but I didn't sleep a month before shooting that kiss.
I kept telling Aditya Chopra to change that scene, I even told him to convert it into a lovemaking scene but ..
. (shrugs).
Do you believe in commitment and marriage? Absolutely. My parents are still die-hard romantics.
But what makes you suddenly ask that? Oh, so now the sticky questions eh? Coz' its' said that John and you ended your 10-year long relationship because you wanted marriage and he did not? Sirf ek cheez se rishte nahin toot jaate. Bahut kuch life mein hota hai, phir jaake rishte bigadte hain.
Above all, destiny comes into play. Was it painful? Was it difficult to overcome? Breakups are always tough and I have had my share.
But one needs to understand that life can't come to a standstill if a relationship doesn't work out. People do get stuck; I am glad that I did not.
I used a bit of my intellect and friends-n- family contributed to pull me out from that tough period. Today, I am so free and light.
Post your relationship with John, you dated many guys- Josh, Shahid, Rana. Howzzatt! I just told you that I am free and light.
If one has been going around dating someone, he /she is not free and light. Then what's going on between you and Shahid? I was never dating Shahid.
So how could we have parted ways? But I am still very much in touch with him. He and I talk to each other every day.
What's going on between you and Rana? I meet Rana. I am very fond of him.
He is very sweet. We get along like a house on fire.
But I am not dating him. And he isn't my best friend in the industry either.
Listen, I am a very responsible girl. Dating is a very frivolous word.
When I started off with John, I was only 22-23. I am extremely mature now.
If I get into a new relationship, I shall announce it in a dignified manner. And I shall have marriage in mind with that person.
I wish I get someone like R Madhavan. What! Why someone like R Madhavan? He is so good at his work, so very caring for his wife, so very accommodating with his friends.
I want someone like him. Someone younger and fitter than him.
Also, he is so secure, well read and humorous. Aise log aajkal nahin milte.
Bahut kam hain. Lekin I tell you, mujhe milega Madhavan jaisa koi.
But you were involved with Josh (Hartnett)? Kuch toh tha Josh ke saath..
. Kyun bataun main kya tha? (laughs).
Okay, he was very nice. But he doesn't live in India.
It was impractical. Two people can like each other but nothing ever will happen out of it.
It was something like that. So you took a back step? Possibly.
But it was never said. In the past, my heart used to rule over my head.
But now, my head is in sync with my heart. Back to John.
Like how you keep in touch with your exes- Milind, Dino and Josh, would you keep in touch with him? Certain bonds never break. We spent some nice moments in the past, how can I start disrespecting them? But I can't say the same about John; it's too early (stares at the ceiling).
That reminds me, you and John don't even exchange pleasantries if and when you'll bump into each other at a gym in Bandra? I am a fitness freak. Gym time is totally my time.
So why should I give any of it to some ex-boyfriend of mine? And you know, I remove my lenses when I exercise. So thereafter, I am blind.
Besides, I have a three-month memory. All the more reason that you talk to him since you'll parted ways nearly a year ago? As a new person? No.
I remember John's face (laughs). Okay, I'll talk to him (thinks).
But why should I talk to him? Talk to him and do what? Will you do a movie with him? Sure. He is a good-looking, saleable actor.
Back to your work. Tell us your forthcoming films? And have you really resolved your issues with the Bhatts? Players, Jodi Breakers and Singularity.
As for the Bhatts, Mahesh and Mukesh are very nice people. Mukesh is a bit sensitive, though.
But you see, I have been like their little baby. And they still feel the same about me.
Raaz 3 is not only homecoming for me but easily my most challenging role till date (pauses and then suddenly gets up). Gosh!I have to rush to the gym.
Wanna join me? The first thing that comes to Bips' mind when she thinks of: Dino Morea Cute butt Milind soman Dashing Shahid kapur Dancer Josh hartnett Worldly wise Rana dagubatti Tall John abraham Nothing

(less)Raja abuses Shweta Tiwari, Abhinav Kohli | Bollywood News and Gossip
Senior Inspector R Prabhu of Malad police station said, “Raja Chaudhary forcefully entered Shweta’s house and assaulted her and her friend Abhinav Kohli.” He added, “As per court order, Raja is not supposed to go to Shweta’s residence.
But he breached the order. We have booked him for assaulting, trespassing, and abusing Shweta and Kohli.
He already has a number of cases against him, some at Oshiwara police station. And now we will extern him.
” Shweta, who approached the police last morning, said, she needed police protection as Raja has been doing this as a routine. The fourth and the latest complaint lodged by Shweta claims that Raja came to her residence at Shiv Shakti society at Chincholi Bunder in Malad at around 1 am on Tuesday.
“According to Shweta, Raja abused them, as he wanted to take their daughter with him,” Prabhu added. Now, Raja is all set to be a tadipar, thanks to the number of cases piling up against him.
Before this, he had created a ruckus at Shweta’s house in October, when she was an inmate at the Big Boss house. He had also slapped Kohli and abused Shweta’s mother.
Raja, meanwhile, is absconding. “Policemen had gone to search for him at his Lokhandwala residence, but he has fled,” Prabhu said.
Incidentally, Raja was detained last year at Sao Paola, Argentina, where he was shooting for a reality show. Allegedly, he was profane to his fellow contestants while inebriated.

(less)Ameesha Patel to play a prostitute
BT came to know that the film is to be picturised in Prague , Paris and David wants Ameesha to spend at least 15 days to imbibe the energy of Parisians and understand their way of life. Ameesha also confirmed the news saying, "It's a first for me.
And yes, I am really excited to test the waters by playing the role of a high-profile Indian prostitute in Paris.' The film is being produced by Ameesha Patel Productions.
Her business partner Kuunal Goomer adds, "Davidji is in Goa currently shooting for Chashmebaddoor and also preparing for his son's wedding there. Once done, we are geared to roll by April.
The film is a romantic thriller with good comedy and suspense as well. We will shoot Ameesha with real Parisian hookers on the streets there.
The effect will be magical." David feels that this will be Ameesha's best role till date.
Since, she can carry off versatile looks, this time around, the prostitute's look is going to be slick, just like the real life prostitutes there. Meanwhile, the actress has just got back from Bangkok after taking a much-deserved New Year's break with Kuunal, his wife Shamble and friends.
She's working on Shortcut Romeo opposite Neil Nitin Mukesh , second schedule of Race 2, which is to start soon. Bhaiyyaji Superhit with Sunny Deol is starting soon
(less)Singham has got me huge love and respect: Rohit Shetty
The director got a call from his line producer in Goa, who told him the DGP Aditya Arya wanted to host a show for the Goa police. After the show got over, Rohit got a call from Arya.
The DGP had called the director personally to thank him for making such a film on them and added that at last someone had made a good film on the police force and shown them in the right light. For Rohit it was a big honour.

(less)I date straight men: Bobby Darling
The cops alleged that the organizers didn't have the required permissions. Says Bobby, "Agar normal party hoti and if I were caught with a straight man, I would not deny it because I'm a girl.
But I was called to this party on the pretext of being 'the celebrity attraction'. I had no clue it was a gay party.
I do not go to gay parties. I do support gays, but I have a soft corner for transgenders.
I am not gay. I am a girl and have always considered myself to be one.
In fact, all my relationships have been with men. My last relationship was with cricketer Munaf Patel.
The organiser of this party is a friend of mine. He is married and has a wife and two kids.
I will not mention his name because he has not come out with his sexuality yet," says Bobby. She believes that the people who blew the lid on the party and called the police are probably those who did not get entry, or maybe the neighbours had a problem with the music.
"I think it must be the neighbours or the people who were denied entry who complained. I was at the party, there were music and drinks, and I got a phone call.
When I went out into the lawn to take the call, I saw the police entering. They came in and asked me, 'Aap yahaan kya kar rahe ho?' They told me I'd have to cooperate and like a good citizen, I did.
I went to the Oshiwara police station and signed some papers, answered some questions and then left," she says. no indecent behaviour According to DK Rupwate , senior inspector at Oshiwara police station, Mumbai, where the revellers were taken after the raid, male guests were found behaving indecently at the party and there was no prior permission to host it or serve liquor.
Bobby denies any such reports. "There was no indecent behaviour.
There were people from the LGBT community and drag queens, but it was like a regular party. There were drinks and dancing, like at any party.
I didn't know there was no permission for the party or the alcohol," she says. She adds, "I charge money for parties, yes.
It is part of my profession. I usually go for parties where my name is used to attract people.
But I would never go for a gay party. I am a girl, after all, and have always considered myself to be one.
I was paid for this party too and I believe there were invites that were sent out. People must have come because my name was on the guestlist, but I was completely unaware that this is what I was getting into.

(less)I was a topper in school: Anushka Sharma
..
," they exclaimed. Waiting for her in one of the many meeting rooms in the studio, the two advertising interns were busy brushing up their questions.
Anushka entered, dressed in bright gathered yellow top and skinny jeans, and looked much thinner than we could have imagined, but glowed under the make up. She came in beaming with her patent hearty smile and introduced herself.
As the girls settled down next to her, she asked if Pillai was a Malayali name. When she nodded, the 23-year-old actor said, "One of my best friends is a Menon.
" As the girls started gushing about her character in Band Baaja, she quickly retorted, "Can you believe it, I'm a true blue Bangalorian. I've grown up in the South.
But after the movie, people refuse to accept that my accent was fake." Without breaking a sweat she carried on, "You know, I started working when I was 15.
Back then all my friends were in college and would go down to the loafer's street to check out boys and I couldn't go," she said, laughing. The girls wanted to know more about her experiences, since Sharma started modeling at such a young age.
"I don't think I was a good model. I think I was born to emote and act.
I would walk down the ramp and smile and they used to say, 'give us a blank look.' It was really difficult, not to smile," she said, animatedly.
Mithila asked her how her parents reacted to her acting and working so soon in life. "My parents are super cool.
I'm a lot more orthodox than they are. Thanks to the Army background, I have a very strong sense of independence and freedom, so we took our own decisions and only have ourselves to blame.
I always knew I wanted to be in films but didn't want anyone to taunt my parents. So I excelled in studies.
I was a topper in school and college so when I decided to become a model, people said 'Oh your daughter is modeling' so at least my parents could say, 'yeah but she also came first in class.'" She talked about her difficult days of moving to the city without a friend.
"For a year and a half I went to auditions and shows and came back to watch TV on Saturday nights. I didn't have a single friend.
Only once the movie began, I made a few friends and my social life seemed to revive.?Those were difficult and lonely days," she recounted.
What of the competition between actresses quizzed the girls. "In the same field, at the same level, competition is bound to happen.
Everyone wants the best roles. If Deepika does well, I'll say so, I need to be better.
It's healthy," clarifies Sharma. But she was clearly miffed at the press for reporting unsubstantiated articles.
"Can you imagine, first you say I've had dinner with Shahid, then I've gone out with Ranbir and then I'm seen in the back seat of a car with Ranveer. I mean, what sort of a girl are you making me out to be? I conduct myself with dignity and my upbringing doesn't support this behaviour.
That's when these things hurt," she exclaimed. Her rant continued, "They reported that I roamed around with an entourage.
I'm the sort of person who backpacks solo. I just don't have the PR machinery for this sort of gossip.
The anorexia news hurt the most. I want to be a good example for young girls.
Rani, Kajol , Madhuri were such icons for us. If you notice, my characters are also very relatable.
So these rumours really tarnish my image and work." By now the girls were dying to hear about her Shah Rukh experience.
"You know, until I worked with him, I?hadn't really seen a lot films, but I'm crazy about him now. For our first scene, I was so nervous but after our shot he said, 'Darling, you are a good actor.
I don't need to act with you, I just react.' It was the biggest compliment ever," she gushed.
"He also said, 'Find one thing you love about this industry - money, fame, adulation, anything and hold on to it. After a while, you'll need it to keep you going,'" she recounted
(less)Amy looked like superstar at funeral, says mother
So before she was put in her coffin, two of her assistants made sure her make-up was perfect, put her famous black beehive wig on her head and dressed her in a short yellow dress. "It was an act of love.
She went out looking like the superstar the whole world fell in love with," Janis said. After being given the tragic news that her beloved daughter had died, Janis went to visit Amy's body at a coroner's office in London so she could say goodbye.
"It was only then, when I looked at Amy's body, that it dawned on me that she'd gone. She looked peaceful, at rest, beautiful.
But as I gazed at her, Amy aged nine flashed into my head," her mother reminiscenced . "When she was young I'd scream at the bottom of the stairs, calling for her to get up for school.
'Amy wake up! Amy wake up!', I'd shout. No answer," she added.

(less)Amy, Prateik in love?
And it is not surprising that he has found love once again. The girl who Prateik is reportedly smitten with is Amy Jackson his co-actor from Gautham Menon's Ek Deewana Tha .
The two youngsters met almost a year back at the film's audition and sparks flew. Amy is a hot super bikini model from UK who has won several swim wear pageants.
Sources from the unit say that during the shooting of the film in quaint villages and in the backwaters of Kerala, Prateik and Amy came close. Our source adds, ``Even after the film has finished shooting, Amy is very much in India because Prateik stays here
(less)Aruna Irani on winning the Lifetime Achievement Award
Having a repertoire of around 300 films in Hindi, Gujarati, Marathi and Kannada, Aruna Irani has won the Filmfare Award twice in the Best Supporting Actor category. In an exclusive conversation with Gaurav Malani, the versatile actress speaks about her film career spanning more than five decades.
Filmfare Lifetime Achievement Award I was dumbfounded when I was told I was chosen for the Lifetime Achievement Award. Esp.
because I am not doing any films as such these days. It was really nice and kind of Filmfare to remember me and consider me for such an honour.
The award kind of made me feel I am not so bad after all (laughs). One might know that they are good at their work but the recognition should come from others.
That's what made me really happy! Debuting at 10 I was just 10 years old when around 500 children from our society were going for an audition. I was least interested because I thought what would I get going there.
But then we were told there would be wafers and coke served and I got excited. Certain of not being selected, I was sitting aloof on a bench, munching wafers when I heard a voice saying 'aye ladki, idhar aao' (hey girl, come here).
I turned to see Dilip Kumar saab calling me. I was surprised.
I wiped my face and touched his feet. And before I knew I got a role in Ganga Jamna.
"My father wanted a son" We came from a very humble background and my father was a poor man. I was eldest amongst eight brothers and sisters and my father always wished his eldest child should have been a son who could have taken care of his younger siblings.
So I started working in films to support my family and not with the dreams of being a big star. I had dreams of marrying a Prince Charming and settling down in life but things weren't as easy.
But thanks to that responsibility of mine and my good fortune that today I am a known figure. Else I would have died like any ordinary woman.
When you are pushed in water, you somehow learn to swim. That was the case with me.
My family is largely responsible for what I am today. I credit my success to them.
Supporting Actress over Lead Heroine My responsibilities towards my family never gave me the time to be the leading lady. I couldn't afford to wait for months to get the right role for the main lead.
I had a family to look after and had to get enough work to make ends meet. But when I look back at it today, I never regret at my decision.
Had I been a heroine, for how long would I have survived - 10 or 15 years at the most? I believe God has his own plans for everybody. The Wicked Vamp If you eat biryani everyday, you won't relish its taste anymore.
It's important to have dal chawal in between (smiles). I am lucky to get the opportunity to play diverse characters.
Whether leading actress, supporting characters, motherly roles, emotional roles or vamp - it was fun to do different stuff and kill the monotony. I would say I started enjoying acting when I learnt acting.
And I believe it came to me much late - maybe by then I was 32 or 34. The Dancing Queen I was never trained in dancing nor could I afford to attend any classes.
So dancing was the last thing I could think of doing. Dance director Suresh Bhatt played an important role in getting the best out of me.
He recommended my name for the role in Caravan. Now he couldn't let himself down and so ensured that I gave my best.
He used to give me some movements and allowed me to do it my way. The one thing he always told me was to keep a smiling face while dancing.
Favourite Directors I really admired K Vishwanath with whom I did a film called Aurat. Rekha and I worked in that film and would go on sets even when we didn't have to shoot.
Being an actor himself, Vishwanathji used to enact the scene for us and it never felt he was acting. He was the only director who had a natural approach to filmmaking.
K Vishwanath and Hrishida (Hrishikesh Mukherjee) always made very soft films. Favourite Films Mili, Caravan, Beta, Raja Babu, Qurbani and Sankoch "Today, heroes and heroines hardly have parents in films" There are hardly any good roles for us today.
The last mother character I remember in films was perhaps Jaya Bachchan in Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Ghum or Farida Jalal in Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge. The problem is that in today's films, the hero and heroine hardly have parents.
I am not saying that they are bad films but senior actors hardly have anything substantial to do in films. In our times, films had chacha, chachi, mama, mami and so many more of them.
There are no more extended joint families in films. Shifting to the small screen Television gives us the kind of roles we wish to play at such age.
It's fabulous working for TV. The only problem is that television has deadlines, which makes life a little difficult.
Once you are committed to a show, you are dead for a couple of years. You don't have any holiday and you work round the clock.
Ageing actresses like me do need a break once in a while. But other than that I love TV.
"TV keeps the actress in me alive" I play a very strong character of Rajmata in 'Dekha Ek Khwab' and a very simple and lighthearted character in 'Laxmi Tere Aangan Ki'. Television keeps the actress in me alive

They are acting together in Bhaiyyaji Superhit. Says the excited actress, "What's striking is that I will romance not one but two Sunnys, as he is playing a double role.

A source says, "It was Prateik who told Amy that if she was serious about making a career in Bollywood, she should learn the language and perfect her diction. Vinod confirms, "Amy is learning Hindi diction, pronunciation and craft of acting.
Her grasping power is very good. When she came to meet me she thought I was some old man.
I remember in one of the classes she asked me about what to call 'hairy dog' in Hindi and my reply was Jhabra Kutta and she found it so funny that she kept on laughing for a long time." Now, if you have any complaints regarding Amy's diction in her upcoming movie, you know who to blame
