Azim looks up to Salman, SRK and Aamir Khan
To make his character in "Qasam Se Qasam Se" appear realistic, Azim frequented call centre offices to absorb the finer nuances of the people working there. "It was quite a relevation for me as an actor.
I witnessed not only people's mannerisms but also the activities they indulge in during the break hour. Looking into the mirror, some guys would be busy ruffling their hair and taking care of their looks, while some would busy binging.
And there would others catching up with family and friends over their cell phones. This has helped shaped my character in the film.
" Azim feels that all our veteran actors were keen observers and would translate that on screen. "Whether it were the legendary actors like Dilip Kumar or the late Raj Kapoor or Dev Anand , they were schools in themselves.
I am a great fan of Salman Khan , Shah Rukh Khan and Aamir Khan and look at them as a student who looks upon his guru. I am mastering the art of acting watching their films," he smiles

(less)I never thought I'd be a desirable woman: Sameera Reddy
"My name in the list means a lot to me. As as a young girl, I never thought even in my wildest dreams that I would become a desirable woman.
I yearned for a perfect body as I was ugly duckling in school. But now that I have entered films, I believe that beauty is hidden in the imperfections of people and it all depends on how you use them.
That's my definition of desirable and I am glad to have made it to the list," says Sameera. The actor is basking in the success of her last Tamil release opposite Madhavan and has Padma Shri Priyadarshan's Tezz to look forward to.
Sameera has now decided that she will do a mix of performance-oriented and glamorous characters on screen, something that Simran and Jyothika did in Kollywood. So is the report true that Sameera wants to become the next Simran and Jyothika? "You cannot become another person.
I had said that I look up to both Simran and Jyothika, who had a mixed bag of roles- performance-oriented and cute characters. Both had their own fan following .
They are my role models and I want to have a beautiful lineup of characters like them," says the actor
(less)Sherlyn Chopra likes being unconventional
Be it politics, cinema, sports, business or any other arena, women across the globe including India are in great form mentally, physically and consciously to undertake greater responsibilities and tougher challenges that are often encountered on paths less travelled." Sherlyn is also happy that she has gone from being just a pin-up girl to an entrepreneur.
Says she, "The rapid metamorphosis in my case would not have been possible had the mindsets of the majority of the people in the Hindi film industry continued to be goverened by prejudices. I look upto entrepreneurs who command respect and attention for daring to think out of the box and act accordingly.
They do not have a herd mentality. What they have is unadulterated creativity which is set on fire by courage.
" Naming films like " The Dirty Picture ", " Erin Brokovich ", " No One Killed Jessica "," The Black Swan " as cinema that has changed the way we think, Sherlyn says, "Unconventionality is no longer a taboo. It is being applauded and celebrated by both the classes and the masses.
The pulse of the youth is racing towards liberalisation. And I'm truly loving it.
" Asked why she decided to give us photographs that resembled those of the " Jism 2 " campaign, the actor quips, "I have pushed the envelope by choosing to cover my nakedness with nothing but pure consciousness."

"I had a blast at NYU. Everyone was so enthusiastic, they put on a very polished, confident show, and the surprise flash mob at the end was perfectly executed.
My best wishes to all the students involved," Imran said in a statement. The students had been practising for the performance for over two weeks, ahead of Imran's visit to New York as part of the promotional tour.

It can be said as the musical series of Aashiqui ..
.a new generation is making this film," he said.

(less)Preity Zinta, Kareena Kapoor make up
Preity tweeted: Just saw BODYGUARD! Salman U n Kareena Rock! Its FAB & the action is AMAZING ! All da best This one is full Paisa Vasool :) The gesture obviously comes a surprise, since it was Preity who had once at a Diwali party hosted by Akshay Kumar in 2008, snubbed Kareena publicly. In fact, the rivalry started when an unsuspecting Zinta commented on the 'new lot of actresses' in those days - a list that included Kareena.
The rivalry intensified when Preity was chosen for Karan Johar's Kal Ho Na Ho, to play a role that was initially offered to Kareena. A war of words followed between the actresses.
In fact, on Karan Johar's chat show, Kareena made it clear that she was not too fond of Preity. Preity on the other hand, said that Kareena only acknowledged her in Karan's presence.
Both actresses seem to have moved on from their warring days. On Sunday night, Preity was a part of Salman Khan's exclusive show of Bodyguard at YRF Studios.
On Monday morning, the actress praised both the lead actors Salman and Kareena for their performances in the film. Needless to say, Kareena is rather pleased with this gesture.
When contacted, Kareena said, "I am really flattered with Preity's compliment. She is really sweet and very genuine as a person.
She always speaks her mind so I know whatever she wrote was heartfelt

(less)Salman Khan-Hrithik Roshan war heats up
He has been put off by the whole issue of him being pitted against Salman and talk of his closeness to Shah Rukh Khan." The source added, "He has apparently cited date issues when he could have possibly adjusted then.
Also, the fact that he hosted the dance show on the channel that has lost the telecast rights of the awards night may have influenced his decision." Recently Hrithik was approached to be the special guest in the house for this weekend's finale of Bigg Boss .
Salman who has been off and on present will feature in the last episode shoot in Karjat. Hrithik, however, preferred to skip the finale stating that he would be unavailable as he would be travelling on that date.
Though B-Town buzz is that it had to do with something to do with Salman's presence on the show. Earlier, Hrithik had got upset with Salman after the latter commented about Hrithik's film Guzaarish .
Duggu had taken it upon himself to defend his project. But Hrithik's appearance at Salman's brother Sohail's birthday bash in December 2010 was a hint that the two stars had let bygones be bygones.

. RAVEENA TANDON AND ANIL THADANI WHEN: February 2004 LOVE-O-METRE: Nearing the 10-year milestone.
THE PROPOSAL: The couple met for the first time on Valentine's Day at Olive restaurant in Mumbai. After that, however, they did not see each other for two years! Then Raveena made her first film, "Stumped" as producer, and Anil sent her an SMS that he would like to help her distribute the film.
"We actually dated for only two months," shares Raveena. "We met in August 2002, and he proposed in October.
That year, like this year, Diwali and my birthday were on the same day! So he planned a proposal on Diwali day. We first went to his chacha's house to celebrate, and then headed to my family's Diwali puja.
When I reached my dad's house, I saw huge ornate baskets, lots of them lying around the house, and my mom just dismissed them saying, 'Your brothers want to send this to their colleagues and friends.' We started getting ready for the Lakshmi puja, but we were just waiting! And I kept asking, 'Why are we delaying things, it's nine o' clock.
..
lets start! And it was the first time my two adopted daughters, Pooja and Chhaya were standing around with their cameras. Usually I would film or take photographs of the celebrations! Suddenly the doorbell rang and I saw Anil's mom, dad and sister walk in.
It still didn't strike me, but I said, 'So mom, we were waiting for them?' And then my dad asked Anil to do the honours! Everybody was giggling as Anil got on his knees and pulled out a big box with a ring and asked, 'Will you be my wife?' It took me a long time to respond, I saw my mom all teary-eyed, and my daughters were both laughing and crying..
. and everybody said, 'Please say yes, he will get tired being on his knees!' So I said 'Sure!'" WEDDING TRIVIA: Manav Gangwani designed Raveena's bridal wear.
He also designed three exclusive outfits for the groom. The bride's wardrobe was 10 times more elaborate than the groom's.
Raveena got a dream wedding going, after scouting for the best possible locations with Anil. Her sangeet and mehndi parties were held on separate evenings at the Shiv Niwas Palace hotel in Udaipur.
Her wedding reception was held at the Jag Mandir Palace hotel, on Pichola Lake, Udaipur. Farah Khan Ali designed Raveena's jewellery.
Guests included the who's who of Bollywood, and a diverse range of the couple's friends like Gautam Singhania, Manish Malhotra, Vijay Mallya, Ravi and Ritu Shastri, Amar Singh, Vasundhara Raje and Subrata Roy Sahara. HRITHIK ROSHAN AND SUSSANNE KHAN WHEN: December 2000 LOVE-O-METRE: They celebrated a decade together in 2010 and have two delightful little boys, Hridhaan and Hrehaan.
THE PROPOSAL: One year after he started dating Sussanne on Valentine's Day, in 1999, Hrithik went down on his knees and proposed to her at Juhu beach in Mumbai. "I'd known since I was 12 that she was the girl for me, but that was the big moment, complete with a ring.
Earlier, on another Valentine's Day, I'd told her those three all-important words, 'I love you,'" Hrithik has been quoted saying. WEDDING TRIVIA: In a confluence of Hindu-Muslim rituals and cultures, Hrithik performed certain Hindu rites and Sussanne, Sanjay Khan's youngest daughter, performed certain Muslim rites.
The mehndi and sangeet were homespun affairs, mostly at home with close friends and family. But the wedding was a spectacular affair.
The ceremony took place at Sanjay Khan's heavilyguarded Golden Palms resorts and spa, on Bangalore's outskirts in December 2000. In a brief appearance before the media in the midst of the pre-wedding haldi ritual, Hrithik said with a laugh, "There will be no heartburn.
They are my well-wishers. They will continue to wish me luck and success," he said, referring to his choice of bride vis-avis his family's response.
"Sussanne is our last daughter and I'm very happy that she's getting married," said Feroz Khan. About 70 members of the Khan and Roshan families and their friends attended the wedding.
Guests at the reception included stars like Dimple Kapadia, Rishi and Randhir Kapoor, Uday Chopra, Karan Johar and childhood friend Abhishek Bachchan. Hrithik's mode of transport to his wedding was a white horse.
His wedding oufit was a white Jodhpuri suit with gold-embroidery designed by Rocky S, while Sussanne wore a gold and red ensemble designed by Tarun Tahiliani. ABHISHEK BACHCHAN AND AISHWARYA RAI WHEN: April 2007 LOVE-O-METRE: They have reached the half-decade mark this year and are parents to the new-born angel! THE PROPOSAL: This classy couple surprised everyone with their engagement announcement back in 2007.
Although Abhi and Ash were very hush-hush about the love brewing between them, it seemed inevitable as fate repeatedly cast them together in a slew of magnum opus projects such as "Umrao Jaan", "Dhoom 2", and what seemed a turning point, "Guru". Aishwarya becoming a part of the Bachchan parivaar started looking more imminent when she did an electrifying stage performance of Kajra Re at the 2005 IIFA Awards with senior and junior Bachchan.
Abhishek popped the question with a borrowed ring in hand (allegedly from the production department of his film), proposing to Ash spontaneously as they were heading home after the premiere of "Guru" in Toronto, waiting for their flight at the British Airways lounge at New York's JFK airport on January 12, 2007. According to eyewitnesses, a very emotional Ash accepted.
After Abhishek called home with the good news, the couple was asked to come and they had a formal engagement ceremony at Jalsa, attended only by close family friends like Amar Singh, Anil and Tina Ambani, Kirron Kher and the Johars. Finally, the couple was unafraid to hang out at each other's sets and make public appearances together.
WEDDING TRIVIA: The actual wedding became a homely, though celebrity-studded affair mostly set around the Bachchan residences, Jalsa and Pratiksha, as Teji Bachchan, Amitabh's mother, was critical. However, many details about the nuptials were unique: the wedding invite had two 'editions' - one invite only solicited blessings, while the second set actually invited a limited number of guests.
While the Bachchans sent out golden chocolate boxes with the cards, they also sent ensembles by Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla to close friends. The Rais also sent out jewellery and clothes to select invitees, including close friend Subrata Roy Sahara.
Celebrations kicked off at Pratiksha with the sangeet, where it is believed a lot of family members danced to Bollywood songs, with Karan Johar playing MC. The mehndi was held at La Mer, Ash's residence.
Fifteen kilos of special Nihar henna was brought in by Shweta Nanda, Sonali Bendre, Rinkie Khanna and other close friends for Ash from Sojat in Rajasthan. A 30-foot walkway was erected at the entrance of La Mer to the main area of the ceremony.
The actual wedding saw 11 pundits from Benaras and Bangalore, and it was conducted in Arya Samaj tradition. Chanting started in the morning, and massive tents were put up to accommodate guests around Pratiksha.
The ceremony was conducted in an air-conditioned pandal in the same garden. At 5.
15 pm the colourfully-dressed dhol players kicked off the baraat from Jalsa, which ended at Pratiksha, where a bejewelled Aishwarya in a gold kanjeevaram ensemble waited for her groom. The ceremony was over by 7.
30 pm and then the friends danced the night away. KARISMA KAPOOR AND SUNJAY KAPUR WHEN: September 2003 LOVE-O-METRE: " He's (Sunjay) not the film-going sort.
I think Sunjay has made me a calmer person; if you ask me that's the one thing that has changed about me after marriage," said Karisma a year after her wedding. The couple completes a decade in 2013.
WEDDING TRIVIA: Bollywood's blueeyed girl Karisma Kapoor tied the knot with Sunjay Kapur in a ceremony marked by style and grandeur. The wedding ceremony, which was to take place at 11 am, was delayed because the groom was stuck in traffic.
Sunjay arrived at the venue at 12.45 pm and rushed inside the cottage's gates.
He was dressed in a cream sherwani and wore a gold sehra. The pheras finally took place at 1.
00 am in the presence of both families. In typical Kapoor tradition, Karisma was married at her grandfather, the late Raj Kapoor's home, R K Cottage.
The couple opted for an hour-long Sikh ceremony. At around noon, Karisma's family and friends were still busy with pre-wedding ceremonies.
Both the bride's sister Kareena and her aunt Rima Jain supervised last-minute preparations. The strains of the shehnai wafted through the air.
Outside the cottage, the scene was both crowded and confused. Curious onlookers were milling around, hoping to catch a glimpse of their favourite stars.
Journalists, photographers and camera crews had stationed themselves outside the gates of the cottage. A phalanx of policemen was doing their best to manage the crowds and the ensuing traffic jam.
Because of the crowds, no member of the RK family was present at the gates to welcome the groom and his family. Among the guests who drove in were Lolo's uncle Rishi Kapoor, actor Sanjay Kapoor who reportedly played the brother's part at the ceremony, designer Manish Malhotra, granduncles Shashi and Shammi Kapoor, filmmaker Bharat Shah, cricketer Mohammed Azharuddin and Sangeeta Bijlani, Govinda, Rahul and Akshay Khanna.
Manish Malhotra had designed Karisma's trousseau. Being a style icon herself, it wasn't a surprise when she chose to follow the unconventional route and opted for a pastel shade for her bridal outfit instead of the usual reds and maroons.
The tasselled dupatta was embellished with zari and stones. The house was decorated with flowers and the garden that surrounded the house was turned into a Sheesh Mahal-like mandap that could accommodate 600 guests who were offered non-alcoholic drinks and vegetarian starters until the wedding ceremony was completed.
Karisma's father Randhir, according to reports, opened a bottle of champagne after the wedding, after which a wellstocked bar was thrown open to the guests. An elaborate lunch was served later which included a variety of cuisines like Oriental, Thai, Chinese, Italian, French and Continental.
It also included Punjabi, Gujarati and Rajasthani food

The groom's tweet was preceded by one from actor Shahid Kapoor, announcing the wedding of his Chance Pe Dance co- star. " And G is married !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Unbeleivable .

Riteish, wearing a white sherwani and red feta (turban), entered the Grand Hyatt on a ghodi. The baaraat started from the grounds near Grand Hyatt and reached the hotel.

Riteish, Genelia's grand sangeet Both Riteish and his bride-to-be Genelia are on Twitter, this morning. Both sent tweets to Mona Kapoor, entrepreneur and first wife of producer Boney Kapoor, wishing her on her birthday.
Earlier, they posted tweets to actor Priyanka Chopra who missed their sangeet due to filming. Dressed in their best, stars at sangeet Yesterday Riteish and Genelia wrapped up chores (their last as singles).
We spotted them first at Linking Road in Bandra and later, Genelia prayed at her church. Known to be religious, Genelia wore her pre-bridal glow, which added sheen to her otherwise casual jeans and blazer look.
A party, a grand sangeet on Tuesday and rituals have preceded the wedding. While Riteish and Genelia's colleagues stepped out in their best traditional outfits and spent happy hours at the sangeet, Genelia was seen dancing her heart out at a ritual yesterday.
Moving away from tradition for a bit, a party was hosted for them by producer Sajid Nadiadwala and actor Fardeen Khan on January 24. Riteish and Genelia first met while shooting their debut film Tujhe Meri Kasam in 2003.
Despite leading public lives, their eight-year courtship has been largely private. Post marriage, the two will be seen together in a love story on screen - Tere Naal Love Ho Gaya - a Hindi film scheduled to release at the end of this month.

"You know what to expect from him if you ask me nasty questions," he grins. But he doesn't need the canine.
He fields all queries with utmost comfort. Read on for excerpts.
..
How's 2012 looking for you? I've decided to do three films a year from here on, but where are the scripts? I reject most of the ones offered to me. There are three films in the offing currently.
I am doing Maneesh Sharma's film for Yash Raj Films. There's also Kunal Kohli's Teri Meri Kahani (working title).
There's a Karan Johar film..
. It is too premature to talk about that.
I'd be happy to work with him. I'm sure it will happen at some point.
We have been meeting and have been friends , formally and informally. Let's chat about your buddy Ranbir.
This is a new thing I've heard - do-teen din saath bita lete hai (spend two-three days together) and people term you as best friends. Ranbir and I know each other and he seems like a chilled out chap.
'Friend' is a word I use for people I know will stand by me when things are not going well. There were reports that fans screamed for Ranbir, while you were ignored, in Hong Kong recently.
..
I was very surprised to read that. When Ranbir and I were together in Hong Kong, there was no third person present.
Ranbir is a chilled out guy so I am sure he would not have said anything about our time together. So I fail to understand where such ridiculous stories about some screaming fans comes from.
So who do you think are your rivals? I don't see any of my colleagues as rivals. I don't think our generation needs to do that.
We are a chilled out lot and we should all be happy. I am not an insecure person.
For me, insecurity comes when something I do does not come across the way I thought it would. It would come if I had nothing more to say as an actor.
I have a long way to go! How's your equation with Priyanka Chopra today? Very good! She is great fun, a good co-star, a fine actor, neighbour and friend. What about Bipasha and Anushka (Sharma).
..
(Jokingly calls out to Kaizer) Let me just say that the day I'm in love, I will hold her hand and walk with pride. I think I am single.
..
You "think"? According to my last memory, I am single (laughs)!

(less)Shradha embarrassed me: Shakti Kapoor
But, now that he has been evicted, Shakti feels that he is more at peace with himself; and he has "learnt tremendous amount of patience!" We caught him in a sentimental mood..
. 'I am a gentleman!' It was interesting to see Shakti all clammed up and steering clear of all kinds of confrontations, when 13 women around him were going berserk literally, many of them screaming, fighting like wildcats, hurling abuses at will.
Ask him why did he chicken out, and he replies: "I am not a chicken! Yes, I refused to scream or fight like fisherwomen because I am a gentleman! But, finally it was heartening to see that women there saw their father or brother in me, and many of them wept when I was evicted! That was more than enough!" Paying the price Shakti admits that his "calm and composed behaviour" worked against him. "Things in the celebrity house are getting dirtier and nastier by the day! Those, who do a lot of badtameezi without any rhyme or reason, have become heroes," says he.
But, wasn't he disappointed when his "friend of 20 years - Pooja Bedi" - called him "a spineless fellow" and "not fit to be called a man?" There's sadness in Shakti's voice, as he says: "There are no friends in Bigg Boss' house! And Pooja must have called me names because she was desperate to stay in the show and wanted to create a bigger controversy!" Shradha embarrassed me!' If Pooja Bedi went hammer and tongs against him, item gal Shradha Sharma openly made eyes at him and flirted outrageously with Shakti. Ask him, how did he feel getting that kind of adulation, and he replies: "Frankly, I was embarrassed! Woh meri cost pe footage kha rahi thi.
But, I will still pray that her dreams in life come true!" 'Family loves me' The actor says that he is actually happy to be out of the celebrity house because he was feeling increasingly isolated there. "I used to walk to release my tension, and one night I walked 34 kms.
So, you can imagine my plight! But, I was thrilled when my daughter woke up in the wee hours to welcome me at home and said 'I want you as my dad in all the janams!' My wife Shivangi told me that she loves me more than ever now! So, I am really blessed and feeling rejuvenated," says he

(less)Sonakshi Sinha missing in action
This isn't the first time Sonakshi has skipped a Salman event. The actress also missed his birthday bash in Panvel earlier this month, and a film trial hosted by the Khan clan - Kangana and Asin attended.
A source reveals, "Sonakshi is a part of Dabangg 2 and the Salman brigade. But her constant absence from his events has definitely raised a few eyebrows.
Though she's in the middle of a shoot, she could've flown down for a day." The source adds that Kangana's addition to the brand ambassador team could have something to do with it as well.
"Sonakshi and Kangana aren't really friends. They are mere acquaintances.
Kangana is closer to Genelia; if Sonakshi was present, she would have felt left out. It perhaps made sense for her to miss the opening ceremony.
" However, Sona's close aide refutes a rift between Khan and her: "She has been really busy with the shoot of two films - Lootera and Rowdy Rathore . Since her dates had been blocked in advance there was no way she could skip work.
Even for Salman's birthday, she personally called and explained why she couldn't make it to Panvel. As far as Dubai is concerned, her dates were with the producers and she didn't want to cause them any monetary losses.

(less)Why Shah Rukh Khan slapped Farah Khan's husband Shirish Kunder remains unclear
Although Farah spent the better part of Monday railing against her former 'best friend' SRK for slapping her husband and attacking him for "no reason", she and Kunder will not be approaching the police. Kunder on Monday evening tweeted: "We have no intention of filing an FIR or a police complaint.
" Both Dutt, who had attempted to separate the two, and SRK are maintaining a stony silence. The incident took place around 4.
15am on Monday at a party hosted in Dutt's honour by the owner of the nightclub following Sunday's Filmfare Awards . Eyewitnesses give conflicting accounts of the nature of the scuffle: some say the duo came to blows, others say the actor simply slapped Kunder.
Shah Rukh arrived at Dutt's party around 3.15am.
A few minutes into the party, the superstar hit the dance floor and began dancing with Dutt, his wife Manyata and a group of friends. He was in a good mood, and even posed for pictures.
An eyewitness present at the party said, "Shirish Kunder kept hovering around Shah Rukh and followed him onto the dance floor, but the actor simply ignored him." The relationship between the two was at an all-time low after Kunder had criticized SRK's recent film 'Ra One' on a microblogging site.
He had posted an insulting, 'I just heard a Rs150 crore firework fizzle' remark online. "Khan refused to acknowledge Kunder at the party.
Even when Dutt escorted SRK outside the venue to introduce him to a close friend, Kunder unabashedly followed them," said an eyewitness. "Kunder placed himself right behind SRK and murmured something into his ear.
" It was the proverbial straw that broke the camel, or in this case, Khan's back. "An annoyed SRK, who was actually preparing to leave the party, turned around, held Kunder by the scruff of the neck, and forced him to sit on a sofa near the nightclub's exit," said the guest.
After a heated exchange of words, SRK slapped Kunder. Dutt, who was aware of the acrimonious relationship between the two, rushed to defuse the situation and pulled them apart.
Here eyewitness accounts differ with many claiming that Dutt allegedly responded in like when Kunder pushed him roughly. Farah, who had not attended the party, maintained that her husband did nothing to provoke SRK.
She said, "Those who were present told me that the attack was completely unprovoked. Shirish didn't even know that Shah Rukh was at the party.
" In a mass sms sent to the media, Farah said: "Shah Rukh has always told me that physical abuse is the worst way to sort out a problem. It means the attacker has either a personal or professional crisis going on.
It saddens me to see him doing the same." This is not the first time that Kunder has taken a swipe at SRK.
At another Bollywood party, Kunder had criticized Ra One, sources told TOI. The party quickly wrapped up after the fracas: Dutt and his wife Manyata left in one car, while builder and owner of the club Baba Dewan and SRK left in another vehicle.
The party had been hosted by Dewan for Dutt following the success of the latter's latest release Agneepath. Apart from Shah Rukh Khan some of the A-listers who attended the party included Amisha Patel , Ajay Devgan , Priyanka Chopra , Karisma Kapoor, Abhishek Bachchan Vivek Oberoi and Arshad Warsi

(less)Sarajevans moved by Angelina Jolie war film
I am very emotional," Sabira Sokolovic said. A story of love between a Muslim woman and a Serb man against the background of Bosnia's 1992-95 inter-ethnic war, the movie sparked controversy in Sarajevo earlier this year when local media speculated it would tell the story of a Muslim rape victim who fell in love with her Serb attacker.
In fact the film tells the story of a couple who had a fling before the war and meet up again when the woman is taken prisoner by a unit of the Bosnian Serb army commanded by her former lover. He shields her at first but is transferred and she suffers the same abuse and rape as the other women held with her.
The film shows stark scenes of rape, executions and other war crimes. Many viewers praised the film for its realistic portrayal of the horrors of the war that turned neighbours and friends into enemies when the country's Muslims, Croats and Serbs were pitted against each other.
"It is a lesson for future generations. Every inhabitant of Bosnia and the former Yugoslavia should see it," pensioner Seid Karic said.
"The movie is moving because it shows what really happend in Bosnia." But not everyone liked the Hollywood treatment.
"The film is a disaster. I did not like it, I was a witness to the siege (of Sarajevo) and it was nothing like that," thirty-something Elvira, who did not want to give her last name, said after the screening.
In the Land of Blood and Honey will be screened twice a day in Sarajevo until December 28 - two months before it officially opens in Europe. The international preview took place on December 5 in New York and the movie will open in the United States on Friday.
It will go on general release in Europe in early February. Bosnia's 1992-95 war claimed some 100,000 lives.
Tens of thousands of people were held in prison camps where torture and abuse were commonplace. Government officials estimate that some 20,000 women were raped during the conflict.

Each and every lady was seen carrying a goody bag on her way out. With a colourful leheriya (tie-and-dye) sari peeking out of the bag, we wonder what else was in there.
Conspicuous with their absence were Gauri Khan, Sussanne Roshan and Preity Zinta

(less)I am kind to everyone, but trust no one: Akshay Kumar
Christened Khiladi Kumar after his first blockbuster, Akshay Kumar slowly but steadily rose to stardom. Completing 20 years in Bollywood, the actor recalls his struggle to the top, marriage to superstar Rajesh Khanna's daughter and missing his own father.
"I was in my gym swinging from the monkey bars, the day I officially completed 20 years in the industry. Honestly, I didn't know what to feel.
Back then, I never thought I would still be making movies 20 years down the line. I remember taking my family for the first screening of my debut film thinking, 'There you go, this is enough to make them proud'.
Their happiness gave me the strength and determination to try harder every day. At every screening, since my first, the smiles on their faces make all the pain and effort seem worthwhile," recalls the actor.
Born in Amritsar, raised in Delhi and then working as a chef in Bangkok , Akshay had no connections to the film industry. And after his initial break, the actor had to try really hard to create his own space in the industry.
"No matter how much you are loved or respected, the minute you lose focus, or make a small mistake, people will tear you apart. One has to deal with it.
You give your best, stay immune to gossip and think only about your goal. "The best way to survive in this industry is to be the person 'you' want to be and do what 'you' feel is right," adds the actor.
It was like a fairytale for Akshay when having found his foothold in the industry; he won the heart of superstar Rajesh Khanna's daughter Twinkle. "Every man's ultimate dream is to marry the woman he loves.
But for me, marrying a woman born to a world I could only dream about..
.was something else.
My soul mate was waiting for me here. Had I not made an effort to get where I am in life, I may never have met Twinkle - the one woman who made me the man I am and the father I was destined to be.
" Even after twenty years in the industry, Akshay doesn't let people get too close to him. "No one has got close enough to use or abuse me and even if they did, I wouldn't get too emotional about it.
The only thing I ever get emotional about is my family. I am kind to everyone but I trust no one.
That keeps me from getting hurt," reveals the actor. Even today, the one person Akshay misses is his father, late Hariom Bhatia.
"I miss him more in happier times. When the going gets tough, I think about all that he ever taught me.
But in happier times, I miss him more. I miss not sharing my happiness with him.
Every day I wish my father could see me with my son Aarav. That's when I miss him the most.
Work is work, but family is for life. That's what really matters to me," concludes the Khiladi of Bollywood.

(less)Dev Anand given a tearful farewell amid rich tributes
His body kept in a casket, decked with flowers, was taken to the crematorium in a motorcade as his admirers paid him rich tributes. His wife Kalpana Kartik could not attend as she had high blood pressure and remained behind in the Washington Mayfair hotel where the actor breathed his last.
Besides his son Suneil and daughter Devina, his sister Sheila Kapoor, the mother of filmmaker Shekhar Kapur, were also present. So were the acting High Commissioner of India Rakesh Prasad, his close friend Kartar Lalvani, Lord Karan Billimoria, and Baroness Shreela Flather.
Dev Anand died here on December 3 at the age of 88 with his son by his side. While fans in India could not have a last glimpse of the star, his ashes will be flown back to Mumbai, the city associated for over 60 years with the thespian's incomparable body of work.
A memorial service will be held at the Mehboob studio in Mumbai on December 15. True to his full-of-life image, his final journey saw some of his remarkable songs being sung as a tribute.

(less)Top 10 Most Disappointing Hindi Films of 2011
They might not essentially be flops but turned low on the immense expectations that they came with. As we reach the yearend starts the predictable countdown to the best of the year.
While most award functions will go on to honour the good works of 2011, we go a step ahead to list down some of the most disappointing films of the year. They might not essentially be flops but turned low on the immense expectations and promise that they came with.
Here's the Top 10 list..
. 1.
) Aarakshan Director: Prakash Jha Cast: Amitabh Bachchan , Manoj Bajpayee, Saif Ali Khan , Deepika Padukone , Prateik Babbar With Prakash Jha's past repertoire one may reserve the right to believe that his films are social, sensible, well-researched, hard-hitting and conveys a message. But he proved us wrong with Aarakshan .
This film touched its core theme of educational reservations only partially and peripherally. Jha played safe by barely emphasizing anything about reservations beyond what is common knowledge.
The issue and its implications were seen through the confines of the viewpoint of its principal protagonist (Amitabh Bachchan) and the narrative lacked any broader perspective on the national issue. Not only does the film fail to offer any solution to the issue, it doesn't even illuminate interlinked concerns like the debate over the extent of reservations or the aftermath of compromise on merit.
Moreover the narrative very conveniently overlooks one of the most potent and prevalent hidden-agenda behind the quota system - the vote-bank politics of government. The film reeked of idealism and yet attempted to tackle a practical issue! 2.
) Dhobi Ghat Director: Kiran Rao Cast: Prateik, Monica Dogra , Aamir Khan , Kriti Malhotra What would you call a film whose central characters comprise of an aspiring actor, a photographer, a painter and a videographer? 'Art' cinema! Well jokes apart and with due respect to arthouse cinema, which can be an enriching and exquisite experience, Kiran Rao's directorial debut seems like a pretentious attempt to adapt to the prerequisites of the offbeat genre. Minimalism, as a tool, is effective when it adds merit to the medium.
But here it only leads to nothingness in the narrative. Dhobi Ghat is the kind of cinema where you expect the end-credits to appear after any random scene in the concluding reels.
The long pauses, slow pacing, extended shot-taking, erratic editing and a murky look at Mumbai clearly work towards giving the film its intended artistic aura. However the story lacks the depth that could have added more meaning to this tangential look at the town.
Blame it to the weak chemistry of the characters or the premature culmination of the plot but the melancholy of the characters fails to move you beyond a point. Mumbai is predictably captured by means of ordinary people like housemaid, vegetable vendor, fisherwoman, street rat-killers to the laundryman ( dhobi ) - like how it is regularly portrayed to the international audience in its underprivileged glory.
Unfortunately the depiction of Mumbai as an additional character in the film doesn't add any new dimension to the narrative. All it does is give a new Indian ambassador to the world - so after dabbawala , it's now the dhobi .
Is that what you mean by world cinema? 3.) Game Director: Abhinay Deo Cast: Abhishek Bachchan, Kangana Ranaut, Sarah Jane Dias, Boman Irani Coming from ever-bankable Farhan Akhtar and Delhi Belly director Abhinay Deo, Game was surprisingly a weak attempt.
It only played with our sensibilities. The narrative of Game was as much inconsistent as the continuously changing geography of the plot that kept shifting from Thailand , Istanbul , India, UK to Greece.
Under the guise of an espionage thriller and a slick murder mystery, Game ended up being a formula flick driven by ancient cliched conflicts like badle-ki-aag and jaydaad-ki-ladaai . It was too convoluted, cliched, convenient and coincidental for a suspense thriller.
Surprisingly Farhan Akhtar's dialogues only added to the corniness. The direction was mediocre and storytelling blemished with too many loose ends.
Abhishek Bachchan tried too hard to be cool but he needs to 'get idea' of good scripts. 4.
) Mausam Director: Pankaj Kapur Cast: Shahid Kapoor , Sonam Kapoor What you expect to be a timeless love story turns to be an endless episode in Pankaj Kapur's Mausam . Kapur uses actual unfortunate events from communal riots to terrorist attacks as the backdrop to symbolize changing seasons of love in his coming of age love story.
And the sluggish story makes an attempt to push itself 'only' during these adversities. So disillusioned are you after a point that you hopelessly pray for another catastrophe to strike and thereby end your turmoil.
Sonam Kapoor appears too juvenile for the role and lacks the maturity and range to handle a character which spans a decade and demands diverse emotions. The entire basis of this ill-fated love story heavily depends on the chemistry between Sonam and Shahid but it certainly wasn't of the kind that one could rave about.
And with their mediocre rapport, you don't feel as much for the love birds as one should ideally have. Marred by its unrelenting length, what Mausam serves in its three-hour runtime is so shallow and stretched that you yearn for the onset of the next season.
5.) Rascals Director: David Dhawan Cast: Sanjay Dutt, Ajay Devgn, Kangana Ranaut Rascals is what one can call a 'vacation' filmmaking stint where everyone works on the film as if they were on a 'holiday' and the audience is expected to 'leave' their senses behind.
The actors make least efforts to add conviction to their performances and the patchy writing just allows them to play as they please. Invariably the director tries to camouflage the shallowness in the story by adding depth only in the decibel levels of the dialogue delivery.
The one-upmanship between Sanjay Dutt and Ajay Devgn doesn't work primarily because Kangana Ranaut doesn't share any chemistry with either men and so their persistent pursuit to get the girl falls flat. Also thanks to the dull camaraderie, the viewer never really bothers which hero would actually win the heroine in the end.
The humour lacks imagination or wit and one can easily see through most of the worn-out gags. You laugh more on the corniness of the scenes than the comedy per se.
The tone of humour is consistently loud and commotional. Ajay Devgn keeps screaming most of the time and hams outrageously.
Sanjay Dutt doesn't seem interested. Kangana Ranaut is ill at ease in comedy.
She struggles to hold her own and emerges as a bimbo in her act. Rascals ended up being a silly and stupid comedy! 6.
) Thank You Director: Anees Bazmee Cast: Akshay Kumar, Sonam Kapoor, Bobby Deol, Irrfan Khan, Suniel Shetty In times when comedy is being redefined with rational and refreshing wit, the likes of Anees Bazmee have demoted themselves to the old school of humour. This is another comedy on the theme of adultery, perhaps with commercial considerations of reviving the success of Bazmee's No Entry .
Akshay Kumar is ruthlessly repetitive and remains in his comfort zone. Knowing that Sonam Kapoor and Bobby Deol can't act for nuts, Bazmee tries to balance it off by giving Irrfan Khan and Rimmi Sen more mileage.
And though the two try their best to salvage the situation with their decent comic timings, the load is too much for them to handle. Sadly this Shaadi No.
1 -meets- Biwi No.1 narrative is adulterated with so many tacky references that you end up saying thank you but no thank you.
7.) Ra.
One Director: Anubhav Sinha Cast: Shah Rukh Khan, Kareena Kapoor , Arjun Rampal Shah Rukh Khan's superhero character takes too long to boot in this science fiction flick. G.
One arrives just five minutes before the interval point by when you have already restarted your system several times, which has been hanging into nothingness. And the film's title character Ra.
One, a skeletal villain, gets a face (Arjun Rampal) even later in the second half. Is it worth the wait? Only intermittently and inconsistently! While the sci-fi film is able to pull off some visual dazzlery, fast-paced storytelling and thrilling action sequences, it relies too much on SRK's stardom than the script.
The title character Ra.One is not half as menacing as it claims to be.
Not only is Arjun Rampal inducted pretty late in the plot, being an 'outcome' of virtual reality he is too shallow and ineffective as the main villain Also the film has a very crude sense of humour and surprisingly the dialogues are more vulgar than witty for a film largely targeted at the family audience. With the theory that anything sells in the name of Shah Rukh, you are served with butt-spanking, crotch-grabbing, cleavage-popping, nose-picking, condom innuendoes, gayish and garish gags.
While any other actor doing that would have been tagged as 'cheap', girls going gaga over SRK would still like to call it 'charming' over here. At best Ra.
One qualified for a 'one' time watch. 8.
) Dil Toh Bachcha Hai Ji Director: Madhur Bhandarkar Cast: Ajay Devgn, Emraan Hashmi, Omi Vaidya A love story seen through the male perspective, Dil Toh Bachcha Hai Ji with three stars in its cast failed to achieve (or even come close to) what Pyaar Ka Punchnama did with its complete new cast (arriving a few months later). That's because the latter had a brilliant story to say while the former didn't.
Surprisingly the makers should have sensed this considering both the films came from the same production house. Madhur Bhandarkar's first attempt at making a lighthearted 'feel-good' film got an adult censor certificate but it certainly turned out to be a certified childish attempt at comedy.
The film tried too hard to be funny but became bland and repetitive after a point. The pacing was too laidback, proceedings too predictable and the graph of the narrative never picked up.
Emraan Hashmi was in his comfort zone. Ajay Devgn seemed uncomfortable.
Shahazn Padamsee irritated with her constant childish demeanour. And the only (unintentionally) funny moment in the film is whenever actor Aditya Raj Kapoor attempts to speak any casual line.
It's good that Madhur Bhandarkar is sticking to his brand of expose cinema (making ' Heroine ' next), because this juvenile attempt has exposed his weakness in handling other genres. 9.
) Mere Brother Ki Dulhan Director: Abbas Ali Zafar Cast: Katrina Kaif , Imran Khan, Ali Zafar It's more than obvious with a self-explanatory title like Mere Brother Ki Dulhan that the story of the film would be about a guy falling for his brother's bride-to-be. Predictability seeps in this Yash Raj romantic comedy from the title itself.
When Imran Khan does a takeoff on the three ruling Khans of Bollywood in the opening credits, you somehow sense that the film has defined its domain. And it isn't long before you realize that the narrative is taking the route of Shah Rukh Khan's Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge .
By the time the boy comprehends his love for the girl, she is already engaged to someone else. Only this time it's the boy's brother - so it's more of an inhouse affair! With Imran Khan restricted in his range and the immensely talented Ali Zafar being reduced to a second fiddle and grossly underused, it's left up to Katrina to save the ship which she ably does as far as the average script allows her to.
Mere Brother ki Dulhan was relatively old and familiar entertainment. 10.
) Tell Me O Kkhuda Director: Hema Malini Cast: Esha Deol, Dharmendra , Vinod Khanna , Rishi Kapoor Life seems to have come full circle for Hema Malini . In an attempt to reintroduce daughter Esha Deol with Tell Me O Kkhuda , the yesteryear dreamgirl does a spinoff on Dil Aashna Hai (1992), a film with which she attempted to launch herself as a feature filmmaker.
And the outcome is the same - dud! A girl who learns she's an adopted child sets on an aimless, endless and pointless journey to find her biological parents. She has managed to preserve her 24-year old hospital birth tag (phew) that wins her paternal prescriptions from the municipal hospital.
And every time the hospital is refurbished, she gets new options for Daddy dear! Hema Malini's direction is slack, shallow and lacks the dramatic punches when the scene demands and, on the contrary, gets melodramatic when not required. There is no palpable tension when the protagonist confronts any of her prospective papas for the first time.
And by the time Esha Deol walks with 'four fathers' in the climax, you realize that this dull drama dates back to your 'forefathers'
(less)The Roshan in Sunaina’s life
And though she had faced stiff opposition from her family for her decision to remarry, the Roshans had eventually rallied around their precious daughter and helped her set up a luxurious home after she had to move out of her parental home. Sunaina's current marital troubles have brought the close-knit Roshan family closer still.
In fact, just last week, Hrithik and Susanne had hosted a cheer-up party for Sunaina at the Roshans' Juhu residence. In attendance, were some of the troubled lady's close friends and family.
While there is no word on the divorce yet, we can reveal that Sunaina right now is soaking up all the unconditional TLC coming her way. Partners in script After four years, writer duo Tushar Hiranandani and Milap Zaveri have teamed up again to script the sequel to the 2004 hit Masti.
Previously, the two had worked together on Pyare Mohan, Kyun Ho Gaya Na. Their last collaborative venture was in 2006 for the thriller Naqsha.
When contacted, Milap told Mirror, "Tushar and I have been very good friends, but when I stopped writing full time and got into direction, we didn't get a chance to work together. I am glad to team up with him again for Masti 2.
" While Milap worked on Desi Boyz and Sajid Khan's Housefull, Tushar was responsible for scripting the films Double Dhamaal and F.A.

Sallu had left for his medical treatment in the last week of August. He then directly reported for his shooting schedule in Ireland for Ek Tha Tiger .
He had wrote on Twitter before his departure: "Challo see you guys. On my way to fix the short circuit in my nerve.
..

And, if the promos of the show is anything to go by, the camaraderie between the two hosts should be fun to watch. Tweet

(less)Hema Malini's best is yet to come: Rekha
Says Hema's friend and contemporary Rekha, who was present at the special screening of the film a few days back, "I support Hema completely. Her best is yet to come.
" Touted as Esha Deol's comeback vehicle after about three years, Rekha is all praise for the star daughter. Commenting on Esha's performance, Rekha said, "She is far beyond her age, I am proud of her performance.
I am pleasantly surprised. She never ceases to amaze me.
Esha has matured as an actor and a person but has managed to retain that child-like quality, just like her mother." Filmmaker Ramesh Sippy is of the opinion that the film is Esha's best performance to date.
"It's a very interesting, emotionally driven concept and Hema has directed it straight from the heart. There are some very tender moments and Esha's journey ends with a touching climax," says Sippy, who directed Hema in Seeta Aur Geeta, Andaz and his cult film Sholay.
Adds Subhash Ghai , "The film's high point is its climax, where all three - Dharmendra, Hema and Esha - come together. It is a very emotional moment.
The story is gripping and heart-warming. The film will definitely work with a family audience.
" Yash Chopra is deeply impressed by the performances of industry veterans like Dharmendra, Vinod Khanna and Rishi Kapoor. "The film's direction is very good and all the senior actors have done a great job.
The production values are top class and the camel race sequence is the highlight of the climax," he says. And Vinod Khanna found it to be a thoroughly enjoyable film with a simple narrative "that touches the heart"
(less)Hrithik Roshan hosts a wedding
While Aamir, Dilip Kumar , Big B and the creme-de-la-creme of B-town attended Boman Irani's son's wedding, Hrithik skipped this B-town shaadi for another one. The Roshan boy is very fond of Boman, and though he knew that most of the Bollywood brigade would converge for this one, there was another shaadi that he simply couldn't miss.
Hrithik is very close to his staff, and when his secretary from many years, announced that his daughter was tying-the-knot the same day as Boman's son, Hrithik quickly changed plans and promised that he'd be there. Not just that, he was more than a guest, or a special guest at the wedding.
Along with the father-of-the-bride, he left his stardom aside, and played a host to the baraat. Well, that's what makes him a superstar, hai na?
(less)Chirag Paswan met Manmohan Singh
He also invited the PM to a special screening of the film in Delhi. Says Chirag, " It was a real honour to meet the PM personally, and present him with a CD of the project which is so close to my heart.
He was very encouraging. To receive this sort of encouragement from the PM himself felt really great.
In morning I was fortunate to meet Sonia Gandhi and Rahul. They too gave me there best wishes.
" Currently tied up with multi-city promotions, Chirag says that he is living his dream. "I am very confident that the movie will click with the audience.
It is a complete entertainer. It has everything great music, great stars, engaging script and most important, it has me," Chirag laughs.
Chirag, who is the son of Ram Vilas Paswan, a Rajya Sabha MP and president of the Lok Janshakti Party feels that it is because of his parents support that he could pursue his ambition. "Now when my movie is releasing, my dad is the one who is more excited.
Apart from supporting me, he is doing everything to promote the movie among his friends," he says. In the film Chirag essays the role of a young tennis player, who romances not one, but three leading ladies - Kangna Ranaut, Neeru Bajwa and Sagarika Ghatge.
"It was a privilege working with three actresses in my debut movie. I couldn't have asked for more.
In fact, being the only newcomer, I was pampered like a kid on the sets by all three," shares the debutant. -- Suruchi Sharma

Riteish, wearing a white sherwani and red feta (turban), entered the Grand Hyatt on a ghodi. The baaraat started from the grounds near Grand Hyatt and reached the hotel.
The actor's politician father, Vilasrao Deshmukh, was dressed in a brown sherwani. Click here to see the pics Earlier, Riteish set the mood for the wedding with this tweet a few hours ago: "Saw the Last sunset as a Bachelor.
