Azim looks up to Salman, SRK and Aamir Khan
To make his character in "Qasam Se Qasam Se" appear realistic, Azim frequented call centre offices to absorb the finer nuances of the people working there. "It was quite a relevation for me as an actor.
I witnessed not only people's mannerisms but also the activities they indulge in during the break hour. Looking into the mirror, some guys would be busy ruffling their hair and taking care of their looks, while some would busy binging.
And there would others catching up with family and friends over their cell phones. This has helped shaped my character in the film.
" Azim feels that all our veteran actors were keen observers and would translate that on screen. "Whether it were the legendary actors like Dilip Kumar or the late Raj Kapoor or Dev Anand , they were schools in themselves.
I am a great fan of Salman Khan , Shah Rukh Khan and Aamir Khan and look at them as a student who looks upon his guru. I am mastering the art of acting watching their films," he smiles

"My name in the list means a lot to me. As as a young girl, I never thought even in my wildest dreams that I would become a desirable woman.
I yearned for a perfect body as I was ugly duckling in school. But now that I have entered films, I believe that beauty is hidden in the imperfections of people and it all depends on how you use them.
That's my definition of desirable and I am glad to have made it to the list," says Sameera. The actor is basking in the success of her last Tamil release opposite Madhavan and has Padma Shri Priyadarshan's Tezz to look forward to.

Says she, "The rapid metamorphosis in my case would not have been possible had the mindsets of the majority of the people in the Hindi film industry continued to be goverened by prejudices. I look upto entrepreneurs who command respect and attention for daring to think out of the box and act accordingly.
They do not have a herd mentality. What they have is unadulterated creativity which is set on fire by courage.
" Naming films like " The Dirty Picture ", " Erin Brokovich ", " No One Killed Jessica "," The Black Swan " as cinema that has changed the way we think, Sherlyn says, "Unconventionality is no longer a taboo. It is being applauded and celebrated by both the classes and the masses.
The pulse of the youth is racing towards liberalisation. And I'm truly loving it.

"I had a blast at NYU. Everyone was so enthusiastic, they put on a very polished, confident show, and the surprise flash mob at the end was perfectly executed.
My best wishes to all the students involved," Imran said in a statement. The students had been practising for the performance for over two weeks, ahead of Imran's visit to New York as part of the promotional tour.
"As the president of NYU Dillagi, a Bollywood dance team, I knew we had to have simpler steps that the general public would be able to do and we sent videos out to the public. I thought that the flash mob came out even better than expected since people kept joining the mob throughout the sequence and it definitely surprised those that did not know of it ahead of time," Mohit Chhatpar, coordinator of the flash mob, said.
"It was really fun to be doing a flash mob and having Imran among us was all the more fun. He was very sporting and interacted with the students.
We are excited about this movie as well and are glad he could come and be among us to talk about his movie," he added. The Dharma Productions' film, also starring Kareena Kapoor, is set to hit theatres Feb 10.

(less)SRK goes larger than life with RA.One
150 crore ($30 million) project that boasts of world class VFX, mindblowing graphics and his own presence. Billed as a technological masterpiece, it will be unleashed on about 3,500 screens across the globe on Diwali Wednesday.
Shah Rukh's movie is also set to enter non-traditional markets like South Korea and Hong Kong. On 500 screens, it will be in the 3D format.
The high point of the movie is technology. RA.
One reportedly has 3,500 VFX shots and SRK collaborated with Jeffrey Kleiser, co-founder of US-based Synthesian Studios, to supervise the work done by the Indian film star's RedchilliesVFX team. Budget, technology and marketing, everything about the film is larger than life.
Many feel that sometimes filmmakers use inflated budget to promote films, but sci-films usually cost a lot. For instance, James Cameron's Avatar was made at a budget of Rs.
1,100 crore ($230 million), while RA.One , touted as the most expensive Bollywood film till date, had to pack everything into a meagre budget of about Rs.
150 crore. A co-production of Shah Rukh and Eros Entertainment, the film will enjoy equally extravagant premieres in Dubai, London and Toronto.
Since the conceptualisation stage, the film has been in the news and the buzz heightened once the Bollywood Badshah unleashed the mega marketing campaign by unveiling the first look with a newspaper front page ad Jan 1. The next giant step was to air its first trailer during the World Cup and later came tie-ups with Champions League T20, UTV Indiagames for online games and iPhone/iPad application for fans, Sony Playstation for video games, Google Plus and Seventymm, a leading DVD rental company for merchandising, as well as with Homeshop18 to sell superhero film merchandise and Youtube, which has a dedicated Ra.

In past one month, the film's promotion saw an all time high with Shah Rukh's eight-city tour to create awareness about it, his back-to-back appearances on the finales of reality shows India's Got Talent , Just Dance and Sa Re Ga Ma Li'l Champs as well as occupying the hot seat on Kaun Banega Crorepati .
In short, it has been Shah Rukh all the way. Trade analyst Vinod Mirani describes the promotional activity as an "exercise to give the film a good opening and use the media to make it a hit".
"Usually promotion activity is all about giving a film a good opening and SRK is also doing this. That is the reason he has roped in Amitabh Bachhcan to do the voiceover and Rajinikanth for the cameo.
But he is promoting more of himself than his film. But I feel it will get a good opening since SRK is involved," he told IANS.
Anubhav Sinha has directed the film and Shah Rukh says his character is over the top in the film as he has donned a huge wig to play a nerdy programmer who wants to impress his son by creating a game. But things go out of hand when the game's villain escapes into the real world.

Our source closely associated with Nariman Films alleged, "Nariman Films are the original producers of the Film "DON" released in 1978 starring Amitabh Bachchan . In the year 2005 Mr.
Shahrukh Khan and Farhan Akhtar approached Nariman Films for the remaking rights of the original film "DON" through Mr. Javed Akhtar .
We had given them remaking rights only for Don - The chase Begins Again in 2005. We have never given remaking rights for "Don-2 The chase continues ".
Therefore we have raised our objection upon the Infringement on our Copyright of our film "Don" through our Advocates Mr. Digvijay Chopra and Miss Iva Bansal of Film India Corporate Legam Law Firm.
" Advocate Digvijay Chopra confirmed the news saying, "A legal Notice has been sent to Excel Entertainment , Red Chillies Entertainment, Reliance Entertainment , Shah Rukh Khan , Farhan Akhtar, Ritesh Sidhwani , Baba Arts for Infringement of Copyrights . The remaking rights were only given for the film 'Don- The chase begins again' starring Shah Rukh Khan.
It was granted by an agreement which expired in year 2009.Thereafter they never renewed the said agreement or took prospective rights from Nariman Films.
" Counsel Advocate Iva Bansal added, "Without any renewal of remaking rights Excel Entertainment and Red Chillies have made the film Don 2 ,the chase continues, Not only have they Infringed upon the title registered to Nariman Films i.e "Don" and "Don-2 - the Return of the King" which is in this matter second infringement .
The first infringement is the Film Don-2 itself made without taking necessary rights as per law." You see the Title Don -2 has already copyrighted in name of Nariman Films way back in January 2005.
Reliance Entertainment has taken the distribution without any NOC from Nariman Films who hold the negatives of the original film Don and is there copyright. We shall also extend our objection to Don 2's overseas distributors Paramount Films.
" Don 2 is slated to release in the last week of December 2011

(less)RA.One nets highest ever Diwali day collections
5 crore with a net of Rs 18.5 crore on Wednesday (October 26th) making it the highest ever Diwali day collection in the history of Indian cinema.
The second day collections on Thursday, 27th October, were even more impressive with the film raking in a whopping Rs 36 crore gross with a net of Rs 25.10 crore net, making it the highest collection ever for a single day for an Indian film.
RA.One released on Diwali and while some critics gave it a thumbs up for blending elegance of Hollywood with Indian sensibilities, others panned the superhero drama by labelling it a 'video game'.
The reviews notwithstanding, the film managed to collect Rs 18 crore at the home box office on the opening day. Earlier, as predicted by trade pundits, the film couldn't break the first day collection records of Salman Khan-starrer Bodyguard , which earned Rs 22 crore in the domestic market on the opening day.
In the overseas market, the Red Chillies Entertainment and Eros International co-production raked in Rs 6.5 crore.
If reviewers have a different take on the film, viewers are also reacting differently but theatre owners predict good business in the coming week. "Although the film has got mixed reviews, the first day has been really good.
We witnessed more than 80 percent occupancy," a source in PVR said. "Moreover, the extensive marketing of the film has created a curiosity among people, who are eager to see what is the film all about," the source added.
Cinemax witnessed an average footfall on the first day. "There could be two reasons -- the 3D version of the film was made available a little late.
Although in metros it was fine, but in other cities due to delayed release in 3D we had to cancel some of the shows," said Sunil Punjab, CEO of Cinemax. "Also, we saw a decline in the occupancy in the evening as it was Diwali time and people were busy in Diwali puja.
But today (Thursday) the response has been encouraging since morning we have had good number of people coming to see the film," he added. Directed by Anubhav Sinha, the Rs 150-crore film, which also stars Kareena Kapoor and Arjun Rampal in prominent roles, was released in as many as 3,500 screens across the world.
Even before the film reached the theatres, its makers earned money by selling its satellite rights reportedly for Rs 35 crore and the distribution rights for Rs 77 crore. The film's highlight is high-tech VFX shots, which were outsourced from multiple specialty studios in London, Paris and Bangkok, as also the US.

(less)Russell Brand to make 20 million pounds from divorce?
So under Californian law, he could be entitled to half of her fortune, reported Daily Mail online. Perry is worth 28 million pounds, a fortune that industry insiders said has rocked recently to at least 45 million pounds due to her non-stop touring and commercial ventures.
Brand, in contrast, has a net worth of about 11 million pounds from his stand-up tours and a string of hit movies including Get Him To The Greek and the remake of the Dudley Moore film Arthur . Brand announced that the couple's marriage was over after they spent Christmas apart and his lawyers filed divorce papers at Los Angeles Superior Court citing 'irreconcilable differences' between the pair who met at the MTV Music Awards in 2009.
Brand and Perry reportedly threatened each other with divorce several times recently after a string of arguments. "I believe the filing of this divorce was as childish as many of their arguments.
It was a case of 'I'm dumping you before you can dump me', a total pride thing. I don't think Russell liked that Katy was the bigger star.
He'd pick her to pieces over the most trivial things," a former aide said. Tweet

(less)Is Salman the Rajinikanth of Bollywood?
"On the business front, it is bigger than Singham , the producer Reliance Entertainment's earlier release. But on the profit front, it will be more or less same," said trade analyst Amod Mehra, adding that Bodyguard will easily cross Rs 100 crore net in India in the next couple of days.
The Salman Khan-Kareena Kapoor action romance flick is said to have cost the producers about Rs 75 crore, including prints and advertising. But that's not a cause for concern, asserts an industry insider.
"The satellite rights have been sold for Rs 30 crore and the music has gone for Rs 6 crore," he revealed. Pegging the five-day collections across India at Rs 86.
10 crore, Komal Nahta, editor Film Information, a trade weekly, enthuses that the movie has broken records for first day, first weekend and first week. The reviews notwithstanding, he says, "If the film was not good, you wouldn't expect such collections.
Films have released on Eid down the years, but the festival combined with Salman and his action is the major reason for this kind of overwhelming response." Calling Salman the Rajinikanth of Bollywood, Nahta concedes that collections drop on Mondays.
But he also quickly countered, "Why grudge that? The film has done in five days what others do in two weeks." In the same vein, Indore-based distributor Aditya Choksey of Akshar Enterprises maintains that the film is holding strong even on Monday.
"The morning shows of PVR and Inox were sold out. Although there might be a few people who didn't like Bodyguard , the audience is loving it.
Otherwise, there's no way you can explain these numbers," he said. Delhi based distributor Sanjay Ghai, COO Mukta Arts Ltd is certain the film will cross Ready 's Rs 120 crore in nine days mark.
"A couple of days after Eid, the collections usually start to drop. But on the sixth day too, Bodyguard continues to sustain well.
In the second week, it might cross Dabangg 's Rs 141 crore," he said, adding that if this continues, it remains to be seen if the Salman starrer will touch Aamir Khan's record-holding 3 Idiots . Nahta concedes it's too early to predict how much Bodyguard will earn, but it is certain it will cross Ready .
"It could make Rs 150 crore or more. We can get a better idea only after the second weekend," he says.
However, Aditya Choksey is optimistic it will cross Dabangg 's earnings, too. "And with a little help from the ladies and family audiences, Bodyguard could even surpass 3 Idiots ' earnings in India," he said, much to our surprise.
He added, "Even if it doesn't, it's no mean feat to overtake the second biggest grosser like Dabangg . Salman is batting like Sanath Jayasuria, by scoring the fastest 100 yet.
" As for the other releases, Nahta said that Bol is carrying slowly on the strength of rave reviews, while That Girl In Yellow Boots and Mummy Punjabi have been crushed by the Bodyguard tsunami. "Though the cost of That Girl In Yellow Boots is limited, Eid and Salman's Bodyguard wasn't the right time to release it," he notes.
Echoing the same observation, Choksey too said that the other films didn't draw in the audience. Sanjay Ghai feels that the producers of That Girl In Yellow Boots and Bol made a big mistake of releasing the films with Bodyguard .
"At another time, they could have done respectable business. But this time, no other movie stood any chance.
And it's the first time that a film has done so well across cities, small towns, villages, multiplexes and single screens," he concluded. Tweet
(less)Mani Ratnam reunites with Bharat Shah
Bobby Bedi of Kaleidoscope Entertainment bought the rights of Alaipayuthey and remade it into Saathiya in 2002. A source informed Mumbai Mirror, "Bharat bhai shares a very good personal and professional rapport with Mani sir.
They had co-produced Saathiya with Yash Chopra earlier. The venture turned out to be a hit.
Bharat Bhai was keen to buy the remake rights of Thalapathi as the script and the treatment of the film has all the pre-requisites for an entertaining Hindi film." Thalapathi starring Rajinikanth , Mammootty and Shobana in the lead roles with Arvind Swamy, Srividya, Amrish Puri, Bhanupriya, Nagesh, and Charuhasan in supporting characters was inspired by the friendship between Karna and Duryodhana in the Hindu epic, Mahabharata.
"Bharat Bhai flew down to south India and after a long discussion with Mani, finalised the deal. His company, Mega Bollywood Pvt Limited (same company that made Devdas) bought the remake rights of the film at a hefty amount.
The film will be directed by Puja Jatinder Bedi, who is currenlty awaiting the release of his debut film Ghost," added the source. Bharat Shah confirmed the story and added, "We have bought the remake rights of Thalapati.
The project will commence after the release of Ghost." Having worked behind the scenes for films like Mangal Pandey , The Myth and Saathiya, Puja is excited for this big challenge.
She said, "The film was made in 1991 so I plan to modernise parts of the story as well as a few action sequences. However, I plan to keep the screenplay and the characters intact.

I have a family. We're both answerable to people in our lives.
It becomes very embarrassing for me to be known as Wasim Akram's girlfriend. Just because I'm a girl, do I need to be identified by the presence of a man in my life?” The linkup with the ex-captain of the Pakistani cricket team, has severely inconvenienced the actress in the past.
Recalling one such incident, Humaima says, “I was ready to visit India to support Shah Rukh Khan's IPL team Kolkata Knight Riders. And that was not because Wasim was the team's coach.

” Puzzled and a little miffed by people's fascination with cricketers and celebrities, the actress adds, “Being linked with a cricketer seems to be a big deal. Every Indian journalist asks me about Wasim.
As if that's all there is to me. In fact an Indian journalist who flown down to Pakistan, returned with gossip about Wasim and me.
Even in Pakistan, people are equally inquisitive. Even if we go out for a cup of coffee, people start speculating.
Bing a celebrity, it is very difficult for me to do normal things without being judged.” Speaking from Lahore, Humaima blames the Indian press for constantly linking actresses and with crickters.
“I guess it makes for really glamorous pictures. I noticed that in India, linking actresses with cricketers has become a trend.
Wasim was supposed to be seeing Sushmita Sen. And now, he's linked to me.

I wasn't allowed to use any makeup. It was tough and I protested.

His production company Hari Om Entertainment and First Take Entertainment have co-produced the film which also stars Russell Peters, Camilla Belle and Anupam Kher. Directed by Robert Lieberman, the film is about ice hockey and Akshay makes a special appearance in it.

The newcomer says he grew up in a miniature Bollywood. "In Toronto , we always had guests from Bollywood.
And I grew up surrounded by stars. I speak fluent Punjabi and Hindi.
And yes, I am hoping for a career in Hindi cinema. "Bollywood was always on my mind from the time I was a child.

(less)Junglee actress is upset with the makers of Rockstar
In fact, the actress is now filing a complaint against the makers of Rockstar for tarnishing her reputation. The film that Ranbir and Nargis watch in 'Amar Talkies' in Rockstar is actually a film titled Jungle Love starring Ashika.
"Ashika has become the butt of all jokes in her friend circle. Her phone hasn't stopped ringing ever since Rockstar released.
People have been asking her all sort of lewd questions," revealed a source. Angry at the filmmakers for projecting her film as a semi-porn venture, she even approached the makers of Jungle Love, Suresh Jain.
"Ashika called up Suresh. He simply told her that since he reserves the rights of the film, he can give it to anyone he wants.
He did not see Ashika's perspective. All said and done, it's very unfair," added the source.
When contacted, Ashika said, "This is not fair. Jungle Love was not a sleazy film.
It is very embarrassing that the makers of such a big film like Rockstar has stooped so low. Such tactics should be condemned.
" Angry with the filmmakers for tarnishing her image, Ashika has now decided to file a complaint against them. "I am filing a complaint in CINTAA (Cine and TV Artistes Association) against Imtiaz Ali, Ashtavinayak - the producer of Rockstar and the producer of Jungle Love Suresh Jain.
" "Trust me. I am very disturbed.
People are laughing at me. Either Imtiaz or Ashtavinayak or Jain should have informed me that they were using my clip in their film.
Bataya bhi nahin," added an extremely disturbed Ashika. She added, "Tell me, if the film that Ranbir and Nargis head for in the film is actually not supposed to be portrayed as sleazy, why would Nargis dress up as a male when she heads to the theatre with Ranbir?" When reminded about her kissing and lovemaking scenes in a film titled Hot Malaika that released in 2005, Ashika shot back, "So? Two wrongs don't make a right do they?" To get the producer's version on the same, we called up Suresh Jain.
His wife Waheeda Jain answered and said, "Listen. I am aware that Ashika is disturbed.
And yes, we had given the permission for the particular scene to be used in Rockstar. But I really don't understand how her image has been damaged.
" "Rockstar is a huge film, not a sleazy C-grade project. And yes, Jungle Love had a few romantic scenes.
Romance ke bina picture banti hai kya aajkal? And by the way, Ashika had given us a letter when she shot for Jungle Love that she would have no problem if we gave out some of her scenes to anybody in future," she added. To this, Ashika shot back, "I have not given any letter like that to anyone.

(less)Don 2 in legal trouble
And since the producers of the remake weren't given the rights to make a sequel, Nariman Films has sent them a legal notice and is suing them for copyright infringement. The producers at Nariman Films say, "We have raised our objection through our advocates Digvijay Chopra and Iva Bansal.
" Confirming that a legal notice has been sent to Excel Entertainment, Red Chillies Entertainment, Reliance Entertainment, Farhan Akhtar, Ritesh Sidhwani, Shah Rukh Khan and Baba Arts, Digvijay Chopra states: "The remake rights were given only for the film Don: The Chase Begins Again , starring Shah Rukh Khan, by an agreement, which expired in 2009. Thereafter, they never renewed it or even take any prospective rights from Nariman films.
" While Baba Arts was not involved in the production, the advocates point out they had originally acquired the rights, which were then sold to Excel Entertainment for Rs 1.25 crore in 2005, with the knowledge of Nariman Films.
Further Iva Bansal explains that without any renewal of the remake rights, Excel Entertainment and Red Chillies Entertainment have gone ahead and made Don 2 . "Not only have they infringed upon the title registered by Nariman Films, i.
e. Don and Don 2: Return Of The King , which in this matter, is a second infringement.
The first infringement is Don 2 , made without taking the necessary rights as per the law," she states. Bansal also explains that the title Don 2 has been copyrighted in the name of Nariman Films in January 2005.
"Reliance Entertainment has taken the distribution rights without any No Objection Certificate (NOC) from Nariman Films who hold the negatives of the original film Don . We shall also legally proceed with Paramount Films as we are informed that they are the overseas distributors," she maintained.
When asked why Nariman Films didn't initiate any action against the makers of Don 2: The Chase Continues , before or during filming, the advocates elaborated: "The reason is because all the production houses and senior and influential members of the film industry made the partners of Nariman films believe by way of undue influence and fraud that they (Nariman Films) have sold all their rights for their original film Don and are in no position to proceed legally to vindicate their right for the Amitabh Bachchan starrer, and even sent a legal notice to Nariman Films to confirm the same." However, Nariman Films has now come to know from various sources that the advocates they first consulted are on the legal panel of the opposite party.
Now the original producers have approached another law firm and have learnt that the case of infringement, undue influence and fraud, is clearly evident in this case. "And after learning the same they have taken legal action," summed up the advocates for Nariman Films.
Chopra and Bansal reiterated that they will be taking legal action against the makers of Don 2: The Chase Continues at the High Court as well as criminal courts for necessary relief. "We will be approaching the courts for stay on the release and promotions as well as confiscating all the Infringed Copies under the Copyright Act," said Chopra and Bansal.
Ritesh Sidhwani of Excel Entertainment maintains, "Whatever we are doing is legal and their charges are false." Tweet

(less)Russell Brand pays tribute to Winehouse at VMAs
"First time I met her, she was kind of a daft, dopey person, like, just wandering around, a little bit crazy. She just seemed like an ordinary girl with extraordinary hair.
The first time though I heard Amy Winehouse sing, I thought, 'This isn't just another London chancer, not just another person milling about, trying to be famous'..
. I didn't even know it was her.
..
I thought, 'What is this incredible sound, like a timeless sound, like a roar from the guts of humanity; the kind of voice that Billie Holliday sung with, the kind of voice that Ella Fitzgerald sung with..
. I turn into the arena and I see Amy Winehouse singing," he said.
The Arthur actor then introduced Tony Bennett to the VMAs stage for the first time since 1993. "Of all the young artists I've ever met in the last 20 years she was a true jazz artist in the tradition of Ella Fitzgerald and Billie Holliday; she had the gift," he said.

(less)Shah Rukh learns English
One went on floors, Shah Rukh Khan has made headlines for prioritising work over all else. From captilising on the country's most loved sport by previewing the film's promos at the 2011 Cricket World Cup to roping in the biggest names in Indian cinema - south superstar Rajinikanth and Big B , SRK has utilized all the ammunition possible for the superhero movie.
And now we hear that the actor has already started chalking out plans for his next venture. Living by his current larger-than-life mantra, his home banner, Red Chillies Entertainment, for the first time since its inception in 2002, will reportedly produce a comedy film.
A source informed Mumbai Mirror that that the film, slated to go on floors in the second half of next year, has been titled A for Apple, B for Ball. "There is also a C for something in the title, but that word is yet to be finalised," said the source.
Apparently the film's title is suggestive of its storyline. The source explained that the film dwells on the challenges of a Delhi resident who is eager to learn English, but still ends up talking in Hinglish.
The source told us, "Shah Rukh will play the lead role in the film. The heroine, however, is yet to be finalized.
" A source revealed that A for Apple, B for Ball was scripted by SRK's very close friend from Delhi. "Shah Rukh decided to explore the comedy genre because he loved the script.
And so, he has also decided to get his friend to direct the film. They have constantly been in contact to discuss the necessary arrangements to get the project going.
They will soon zero down on the locales to shoot the film. The other modalities are fast being worked out," added the source.
Despite repeated attempts, Shah Rukh remained unavailable for comment
(less)Deposit 1cr before Ra.One's release: Court to SRK
One . "The defendants (Shah Rukh, his production house Red Chillies Entertainment and Eros Entertainment) are directed to deposit a sum of Rs one crore as pay-order to the court and then release the movie," the division bench of Chief Justice Mohit Shah and Justice Roshan Dalvi said.
The court was hearing the petition filed by television producer and writer Yash Patnaik, who contends that he is the original copyright owner of the concept and the content of RA.One , produced by Red Chillies Entertainment.
The court added that if the defendants failed to deposit the money tomorrow, an injunction against the movie's release would become operational. "It is the most unfortunate part of the film industry that people use others' concepts and then don't want to pay or give them credit," the bench remarked.
The court has kept the final decision on the issue of copyright violation pending, and would hear arguments in due course of time. RA.
One , starring Shah Rukh, Kareena Kapoor and Arjun Rampal, is slated to release on October 26. Patnaik had sought a stay to the film's release until he was given credit for the concept of the futuristic superhero that Shah Rukh plays in RA.
One . He had sought 10 per cent of the profits, in case he was not given the credit.
His lawyer, senior advocate Ravi Kadam, had argued that the superhero character resembled the one in Patnaik's concept of 2006, in "attributes and appearance". "The super-villain of Patnaik's script was called 'One', which has been used by Shah Rukh in the movie's title," Kadam said.
Shah Rukh's lawyer, senior advocate Virendra Tulzapurkar, had said that his client's script was completely different. Also, "Patnaik cannot claim copyright as he had developed his concept with a team of experts he had engaged," Tulzapurkar argued.
Distributor Eros Entertainment's lawyer, senior advocate Janak Dwarkadas, had said that Eros had acquired world distribution rights at Rs 150 crore and started transporting prints to theatres. No stay should be granted at the last moment, he said.
According to Patnaik, he had discussed the concept with RA.One 's script-writer, Mushtaq Sheikh, in 2006.
The judges, while adjourning the hearing for a later date, however remarked that "prima facie there has been a copyright violation". Tweet

(less)My face best suits a villain: Milind Gunaji
As he gives us yet another reason to hate him once again for his wicked character in his forthcoming Marathi flick, Sambha, the actor jokingly says, "I think God has given me a face that best suits a villain! Also, actors get tagged very easily in this industry and that's what has happened in my case." PT gets the actor to talk about not just villainy, but also his first comedy film, his love for travelling and lots more.
..
Action and fun All set to explore his comic side for the first time in Navin Batra's Hindi flick Dharna Unlimited, Milind Gunaji says, "There is a lot of situational comedy in the film and I play a Maratha Sardar. The audience can expect to fall off their seats while watching this one.
" If this film is full on masti, then his role in Sambha will keep audiences on the edge of their seats. Says Milind, "Sambha's an out-and-out action film.
I play a politician, who has connections with the underworld. The action and villainous thrill is what makes the role so exciting.
" However, does he feel that he's on the wrong side of age for an action flick? "The concept of 'age limit' is almost wiped off in the entertainment world today. If Sanjay Dutt or Suniel Shetty can still carry off an action-based role, I am much younger!" Looking hut ke While the actor is experimenting with his roles, his bearded look has been a constant.
Why no experimentation on that count? He says with a laugh, "Actually, someone once told me that with a stubble, I resemble Clint Eastwood; so I just stuck with it! Seriously speaking, I just did not feel the need to change my looks." Speaking about looks, tell him that he looked every bit royal in the TV serial Veer Shivaji and he says, "I had always aspired to play Shivaji, as his character is very close to my heart, but unfortunately, my height is more than what he was believed to be! However, playing Shahaji was equally satisfying.
" And what about that bare bodied, sexy look that he recently sported at a jewellery fashion show in Pune? He says with a smile, "Modeling satisfies my ego and gives good monetary returns!" Pune on my mind Milind is a Mumbaikar, but Pune has a special place in his heart. The actor says, "Being an ardent fan of Hindustani classical music, I have been a regular at almost all Sawai Gandharva fests.
It's an experience that only this city can provide. I love the Maharashtrian thali food here.
I have this fetish of searching for the smallest of food joints tucked away in every city I visit. Ranjai and Jaggu Bhai's dhaba are two such finds.
For a long time now, I have been the brand ambassador of a very popular clothing brand of the city. Most importantly, Pune is surrounded by forts, which makes it the epicentre of all my travel plans.
" 'Out of the world' Speaking about exploring Harishchandragad along with Uddhav Thackeray, Milind says, "Uddhav and I were neighbours and our friendship goes back a long way. He asked me to accompany him when he was taking aerial pictures of Harishchandragad located on Malshej Ghat in Ahmednagar District.
It was an out of the world experience." Having hosted his travel show Bhatkanti and Discover Maharashtra, the actor is trying hard for a tie up with an international channel.
"If the heritage forts of Maharashtra get covered on this channel it will be a dream come true for me," says Milind

(less)Taylor Swift wins Artist of the Year at 2011 American Music Awards
"I ended up writing the record by myself, so the fact that you would honor it this way, you have no idea what this means to me," said Swift after winning the trophy for favorite country album for Speak Now . She was also awarded the prize for favorite country female artist.
Nicki Minaj, the pink-loving hip-hop diva, won two awards on Sunday. She kicked off the 39th annual fan-favourite ceremony by sporting a pair of speakers on her much-talked about posterior and was later honored as favorite rap/hip-hop artist, besting a group that included mentor Lil Wayne, and won favorite rap/hip-hop album for Pink Friday .
"There's so much love in this room," beamed the pink-haired Minaj. Adele had been the night's leading nominee with four nods, but didn't have much of a presence at the show: She was absent from the ceremony because she is recovering from recent throat surgery.
Adele tied Swift with three awards: favorite pop/rock female artist, adult contemporary artist and pop/rock album for 21 . Other winners included Maroon 5 as favorite pop-rock band/duo/group, Blake Shelton as favorite country male artist, Lady Antebellum as favorite country band/duo/group, Beyonce as favorite soul/R&B female artist, Rihanna for favorite soul/R&B album for Loud and Hot Chelle Rae as new artist of the year.
The ceremony inside the Nokia Theatre in an unusually rainy Los Angeles was drenched with 17 musical performances. Justin Bieber got in the holiday spirit among a forest of neon lights with Under the Mistletoe , and Kelly Clarkson, wearing a glittery red gown with her hair swept to the side, delivered a swinging rendition of her hit Mr.
Know It All as back-up dancers dressed as 1930s-era photographers snapped the first-ever American Idol champion. Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony shared custody of rapper Pitbull, who joined the former couple in a pair of separate performances.
Lopez performed essentially a live version of a car commercial starring the "Idol" judge set to "Papi" -- with the car onstage -- before launching into her hit On the Floor . Pitbull later returned to the stage and joined Anthony for Rain Over Me .
Lopez expressed surprise when she won the favorite Latin music artist award. "It's been up and down and just exciting and overwhelming and so many things," Lopez said of the last year.
Several artists delivered stripped-down performances: The Band Perry crooned an emotional If I Die Young , a pink-haired Perry accompanied herself on guitar for The One That Got Away and a platinum-blonde Chris Brown simply sang "All Back" before being joined by a troop of helmet-clad back-up dancers for a flashy interpretation of Say It With Me . There were collaborations, too.
Lopez joined a glowing-in-the-dark will.i.
am for his new single Hard . Christina Aguilera dueted with Maroon 5 on their Moves Like Jagger , and then Maroon 5 lead singer Adam Levine teamed with Gym Class Heroes for their hit Stereo Hearts .
Bieber joined LMFAO in animal-print pants for the show's finale, which ended with everyone on stage -- including David Hasselhoff -- stripping down to smiley-face underwear. Tweet
