Bollywood actresses get wooed by Lavni!
Soon the duo recomposed 'Kombdi palali' in Hindi and Katrina took 'chikni chameli' to another level. Post Madhuri Dixit , Lavni almost disappeared only to make a comeback through Karan Malhotra's Agneepath.
Vidya Balan is the next to attempt a lavni, her first item number in Ferrari Ki Sawaari. The crew members of Ferrari Ki Sawaari say that the aim of the song is not to be 'sexy' and draw the attention of the crowd.
Instead they have gone for a more 'aesthetic' look. Vidya will be performing a Lavani number - a cocktail of matkas and jhatkas.
The makers of the song are insistent that this Item Number will be different from the item number from Agneepath , with the oomph factor being downplayed by the aesthetics of Vidya's dance. Rani Mukherjee will be dancing on Vaibhavi Merchant's tunes as she too does a lavni in Aiyya , her forthcoming Hindi film
(less)Aamir Khan to launch Tiger Shroff in 2013
Speaking on this, Jackie said, "That Aamir has so much faith in my boy is in itself a great endorsement for him." This year apparently will be spent in Tiger learning a rare form of martial arts.
Aamir apparently feels that he needs to move beyond the usual training that all newcomers go through. A source said, "Aamir has told Jackie and Tiger that the doors of his production house are open to Tiger any time he's ready.
Aamir is ready to lend his name and clout to whatever the boy decides to do. If Tiger chooses to be launched by another producer, Aamir is even ready to help with the marketing.
" Incidentally, Subhash Ghai has dropped his plans of remaking Hero with Tiger. In fact, it was Tiger who begged to be let off the film, while arguing that he would rather not be compared with his father.
Tiger said, "I wouldn't want to be in a remake of that movie. The last thing I want is to be compared with my father first thing in my career.
There's no way I can match up to him. I think that movie is better left alone.
" Shroff Jr says that he has been a fan of martial arts from childhood. "I remember being mesmerised the first time I saw a Bruce Lee movie.
I was around four years old." Tiger added that Aamir is a huge inspiration for him.
He pointed out, "I admire him for his simplicity of his character." However he also added that his father, Jackie is his biggest idol.

(less)Shyam Benegal to revive Chamki Chameli?
With names like Kareena Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra in the past and most recently even Vidya Balan doing the rounds to play the lead roles, Benegal has not given up hope to make his dream project. The veteran filmmaker said, "Yes, I am keen to revive Chamki Chameli but till everything is in place, I do not want to make any announcement.
I am looking at the possibilities and only when the time is right can I say anything. It is too early for me to divulge any information now.
" Chamki Chameli is inspired by Georges Bizet's opera Carmen but has an Indian setting. The story revolves around Chamki, a gypsy girl who is responsible for the downfall of many men.
In the past, Benegal at that time had already spoken to A R Rahman to score the music and the maestro had agreed. When the project was to get going initially there was buzz that Urmila Matondkar would feature in it.
Later in 2006, Sanjay Gupta was to produce the film for Benegal. At that time there was buzz that Kareena was to be cast as Chamki.
What also added to the buzz was that her sister Karisma Kapoor had featured in Benegal's Zubeidaa . But later Gupta opted out.

(less)A novel version of Vidya's Kahani
The film, a thriller, begins with London-based, six-month pregnant Vidya Bagchi's arrival in Kolkata amidst the Durga Puja festivities. With nothing to rely on except fragments of her husband's memories, all clues seem to reach a dead end.
"Advaita is writing the story. She is going to write it a bit differently it won't be like the film.
..
as people would have seen the film ..
.the screenplay and would get bored.
She has a plan to write a novel in a different way..
.so that will be another interesting thing to wait and watch.
She has a different take..
.her thought process is totally different to the film, which will be good," Ghosh said in an interview.
Ask the director if he is fine with this idea of novel, and he says, "Ya..
its ok. As all she (Advaita) has in her mind is to write it.
I am sure she will not do anything that will harm the film." The film will hit cinema houses on March 9, while the novel should release by the end of this year.

(less)A good interview is about a good conversation: Imran Khan
"Most journalists have an exam sheet which comprises - what is your favourite colour, your favourite holiday destination, what you like to do in your free time. This is not an interview, this is a questionnaire.
I feel to make a good interview, be it print, radio or TV, it has to be a conversation. Fifty percent of the job is yours, half the job is mine.
That is how you make a good interview," the 29-year-old said here at an event. The actor revealed if ever given an opportunity, he would love to interview actor Salman Khan who, according to him, rarely opens up.
Imran's Ek Main aur Ekk Tu releases Feb 10 and stars Kareena Kapoor, Boman Irani, Ram Kapoor and Ratna Pathak Shah. Meanwhile, Imran's next with Vishal Bhardwaj, Matru Ki Bijlee Ka Mandola, is set to go on floors Feb 14.

That was my last meeting with him. Amrita Rao Launched by Raj Kanwar in Ab Ke Baras How can I forget the first filmmaker who I debuted with? He was a tough taskmaster and a perfectionist.

He used to ask me about it. I couldn't connect to him at the time.
