Irrfan to romance Aditi Rao Hydari in next film
It will have an earthy rustic language with the flavour of the city in it. Nair agrees that the pairing is unusual, but will be the highlight of the film.
"We were looking for a young girl to play a street smart girl. Aditi suits the character perfectly.
The pair would be one of the highlights of the film," he said in a statement. "Irrfan plays a member of Saraswati Brass band that goes for weddings in Lucknow and he keeps on checking and wooing girls attending the wedding.
People will see him in a light role after a long gap. I always had Irrfan in mind even while writing the script," he added.
The film is yet to get a title and will go on the floors soon. Aditi was last seen in Anu Menon's London Paris New York with Pakistani-actor singer Ali Zafar.

(less)Ali Zafar’s good in bed: Aditi Rao Hydari
The duo shot for some eyebrow-raising love making scenes for Fox Star Studios' London Paris New York produced by Rose Movies. Aditi admits that Ali was "the nicest and most decent in bed".
She adds, "I was nervous. But Ali put me at ease.
I could not have asked for a better co-star to take me through the scene that too so convincingly," she smiles. Interestingly, while shooting the ambience on the sets was absolutely calm and serene and not tense as expected.
"It was shot in a hotel in Paris. The room overlooked the Eiffel Tower.
And what made the scene even more romantic was the magical double rainbow in the sky. There was a very feel-good vibe in the air.
" Aditi says that the love-making scenes are a crucial part of the film. She says, "It is very natural for a couple in love to be physically intimate.
It is a natural progression. The scenes have been shot aesthetically and are lovely to watch.

(less)Aditi Rao Hydari wants to play lead roles
Lots of people were saying they wanted to see me in a lead role. But I can do nothing as I had no contacts, I did not know anybody.
One can sit in chair and say she is talented but not do anything about it. It takes a leap of faith for a producer to say we will take her.
So I feel its destiny that I got this film." Aditi, who would be seen in Goldie Behl's upcoming film, London Paris New York opposite Pakistani actor-singer Ali Zafar, says this time she would like to stick her guns to lead roles.
"When I started my film career, I never thought of any difference between lead and supporting characters. I feel supporting roles gives a window into a particular aspect of a character while leading roles let you live the full life of a character," Aditi said.
"I would like to do lead roles. I feel that I can give a lot to a lead role.
And there are some really good offers that have come my way. Now, if I just accept to do only second lead roles then I feel I would get slotted.
And I would not like the industry to slot me into anything. I don't want this to happen," she said.
The actress feels that lead roles provide more scope for an actor to do lot of things at one go. "In a lead role, you get to do so much on several fronts-- be it emotions, pain, happy and sad stuff, sing, dance etc.
..
you get to live a life, which is very satisfying. I always wanted to do that and this is where I want to be," Aditi said.

(less)Criticism is important for every artist: Aditi Rao Hydari
"When you look from outside, it looks like a dream. But at the same time, there is fear as you hear mysterious stories like people are mean, the industry is very competitive.
However, I don't think that Bollywood is such a jungle as it is made out to be," Aditi told IANS in an interview. "People are very friendly and accepting.
It is true that they judge you, but a lot depends upon how you take it onto yourself. I have no connection with the film world, but the fact that I got here and my work is being appreciated makes me feel humbled," she added.
The actress made her Bollywood debut with Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra's "Delhi 6" and later featured in supporting roles in films like Sudhir Mishra's "Yeh Saali Zindagi" and Imtiaz Ali's " Rockstar". The roles may have been short, but she took them head on.
"I am not from the film industry and when I was getting these parts, I didn't think of them as supporting roles. I just saw the director, my role and the film," said Aditi.
"In the west also, actresses like Natalie Portman and Julia Roberts started off with supporting parts, and then came as main lead. I think it's just a natural progression.
The industry is expanding and opening up..
. so I can only work hard," she added.
But isn't it easy to get stereotyped in the industry? Aditi agrees. "I did face a problem initially because an image of simple, innocent girl was created in the minds of people.
But I am glad to see that people saw me differently and felt I can do different roles also," she said. Asked how she takes to criticism, Aditi said: "Criticism is important for every artist.
When criticism comes from the place of love, you should listen to it and try and rectify it. When it comes from the place of hatred, you shouldn't care about it because it can ruin you and make you a negative person and that's not worth it.
" The actress is now looking forward to the release of her new film "London, Paris, New York" opposite Pakistani actor-singer Ali Zafar. "In the film I play the role of Lalita Krishnan, a girl from Chembur.
Chembur is a place where a lot of south Indians live. She comes from a traditional home, where parents encourage education.
She is very idealistic, wants to study politics. She wants to change the world.
"In the film, the character goes through three phases, how she evolves and fall in love is what the film is about," she said. "In London, she works to create her own identity; in Paris, she is rebellious and is discovering freedom and New York will see her settling down," she added.
The movie will release March 2

The film industry is image driven: Aditi Rao
"Now I have realised that the industry is image driven. Supporting roles are very beautifully written, but supporting character is a window into the life," she said.
"But in a lead role you get to show so much emotions, sorrow, pain everything and you get to live a life which is very satisfying. I sing and dance and all and I get an opportunity to do this only in a lead role.
I always wanted to do that. Here is where I want to be," she added.
Aditi wants to stick to lead roles only. "I would like to do lead roles.
I don't like to make that difference as I would not like the industry to slot me into anything. I feel that I don't want that opportunity to be taken away from me.
If I keep accepting second lead roles, then I will be slotted. I don't what this to happen.
I feel that I can give a lot to the lead role. I am getting some good offers," she said.
Directed by the debutant Anu Menon, London Paris New York will see Aditi romancing Pakistani actor Ali Zafar when it hits the screens March 2. Bagging a lead role was not easy, said Aditi, adding, "I just hoped for nice things to happen and somehow it happened.
Coincidentally Goldie (producer Goldie Behl) saw one of my shots from Yeh Saali Zindagi and he told my manager that I want her in my next film." For the first time Aditi will be seen dancing on big screen.
"I have been dancing since I was five years old. I have learnt Kalaripayut.
I have danced in the film, but it's little quirky. I started dancing on my own steps and they said we will give you five to six cameras do whatever you feel like.
I enjoyed that." Tweet
