He said Sreekumar was responding well to treatment and ventilator support might be removed this evening. The car driver, who was also injured in the accident, has been shifted to a room after his condition improved, he said.

Sreekumar, who was on his way to Kodagu in Karnataka to shoot a Malayalam film Idavappathy was seriously injured when his car slammed into a road median at nearby Tenhipalam last Saturday and overturned. Shaurya Chauhan , who had been cast after Chitrangdha Singh and Jacqueline Fernandes opted out of the project, to play the female negative lead, has met with a nasty accident on the sets of the film in Ramoji Rao Studios in Hyderabad. As a result, the actress will now remain out of action for the time being.

While Shaurya remained unavailable for comment, her publicist confirmed the accident but refrained from commenting on the film proceedings. A source from the sets however, informed Mumbai Mirror, "Shaurya had to undergo a 45-day training for an intense action sequence in Krrish 3.

During her training, a few days back, she was asked to do a few somersaults. While performing the action, Shaurya had a bad landing.

She ended up tearing a ligament in her ankle and pulling her back. She has been advised complete bed rest for the time being.

" Shaurya, who hails from Hyderabad, is currently under medical supervision and has been advised rest at least for a fortnight. "Shaurya was very excited about the film.

She was scared of being replaced now that she is out of action for a while. But the unit of Krrish 3 has been really supportive.

After his "Coolie" accident, he was reportedly attacked by the life-threatening disease Myasthenia Gravis, a neuromuscular ailment that causes muscle weakness. In November 2005, he was back in the hospital -- first he was admitted to Escorts Hospital in the capital and later shifted to Mumbai's Lilavati Hospital with diverticulitis of the small intestine - when the walls of the large or small intestine tend to get weaker leading to an inflammation.

On Nov 30, 2005, he was operated on for the problem and he had to be in the hospital for two months. Three years later, on his birthday, Oct 11, he complained of pain and was rushed to hospital.

He was suspected to be suffering from incisional hernia, a recurring problem that has been troubling him for the past 30 years (less)
