(less)Divya loves the filmmaking process
The actor wrote on a microblogging site, "Haha!so my hairdresser says touchwood aaj aapki skin glow kar rahi hai!n then added, touchwood meri skin to hamesha glow karti hai!sweet!gdmr (sic)". It's indeed 'sweet' that an actor of her stature like her can be so sensitive and appreciative of the smallest of compliments.
No matter the hot and humid weather, the actor kept shooting outdoors all through the afternoon. Divya wrote about it on her blog, "Town shoot, terribly hot but t zing at shoot kps t spirit super high!" The actor, who is known for her superb performance in films like "Veer Zaara" and also for starring in several TV shows, enjoys the process of filming to the core.
In her next post on a microblogging site Divya explained how she loved the fact that so many crew members, from different cultures and communities, worked together as one to create a saga. She wrote, "Love t energy on t set!dfrnt people, dfrnt backgrounds, dfrnt jobs assigned, but all toghtr, make a lvly film happen! love my job (sic)".

(less)Divya's working hard
Not surprisingly, fans and well-wishers soon started posting on Divya's blog asking her to take it slow and resort to some meditation and healing exercises in the meantime. But to that, the actor replied on a witty note, "I am xhausted! bol bol kar thak gayi! Jst got home! N t goddammd building issues! how does one stop thinking! pls dun suggest meditation! I cnt Do it! Failed miserably! meditation ke alawa kuch hai.
To batao! gadadhari bheem shaaant hona chahte hain ". But then, her message got fans anxious and they started writing frantic messages to Dutta asking her if she was indeed fatigued and in need of some medical help.
Divya, however, confirmed soon enough that she was indeed fine and it was only the excessive work that day that had exhausted her. She wrote, "Guys I m totally fine!jst wanted smethn fr mind relaxation! Stp worrying!" Well, given her endearing personality, it's only obvious fans would be worried for her!
(less)Divya Bharti’s life on screen
The film will be directed and produced by Vikram Sandhu of Shaheed Bhagat Singh fame, who has also written the script for it. When contacted, Sandhu chose to be non-committal, "My film is based on a young girl in her teens who becomes a star overnight, and how her journey from a small town girl to fame leads her to a drastic stage.
It might sound similar to some real character but it is not based on any particular star." Sandhu further said, "We have just finalised the script.
The film is in the pre-production stage. My lead protagonist will be a well known actress or a completely fresh face depending on what the film demands.
" Meanwhile, a source close to the venture told Mirror, "The filmmaker is searching for a look alike of Divya Bharti as the female lead. Auditions are on in Karnal, Chandigarh, Jammu and Delhi by their banner Angel Film Creatives.
" Actress Divya Bharti debuted in a 1990 Telugu film Bobbili when she was just sixteen. The film, a super hit, was also dubbed in Hindi.
Two years later, Divya made her Bollywood debut with Dil hi to hai. She acted in 13 films, including Deewana where she was cast opposite Shah Rukh Khan.
She married producer Sajid Nadiadwala. There was a police enquiry around her sudden death which remains a mystery till date.
Two of her films Rang and Shatranj were released posthumously. It is learnt that Sandhu's biopic, to be shot in India and Dubai , is expected to go on floors in July 2012
(less)More legal woes for Zanjeer remake
And now, the veteran writers have jointly sent a legal notice to Mehra claiming royalties for the script that they had p e n n e d d e c a d e s back. J a v e d Akhtar, who had been on the committee that reviewed the latest Copyright Amendment Bill of 2011, has been the first one to stand up for the rights that the Act ensures.
The Bill upholds the Rights of an author in an entire product such as films. And though Amit Mehra, son of producer Prakash Mehra may have the rights of the film, sharing royalties with the scriptwriters becomes essential.
When contacted, Akhtar told Mumbai Mirror, "We have hired a well-known Delhi based legal firm, Luthra & Luthra. We have also sent a notice to Amit Mehra.
We have asked him to start a negotiation. He had earlier met us thrice and every time avoided discussing royalties.
" Mehra's public announcement about gathering Salim-Javed's blessings for free too seems to have bothered the writer. "And now, he has gone ahead and started shooting for the film.
We have sent him a legal notice yesterday," said Akhtar and added, "Salim Khan and I are on the same page regarding the matter. Solicitor Ameet Datta is representing us jointly.
In a few days we will hold a press conference to discuss the issue with everyone." "Maintaining legal control of your work is critical and this is what the Copyright Act intends.
The simple thing that one has to understand is that when the screenplay was written - it was for being developed into a particular film. While the producer does retain the overall rights for the product - which is the film, one cannot deny that the creative rights of the screenplay writer cannot be ignored," said solicitor Ameet Datta of Luthra & Luthra, Law Offices, Delhi, which is handling the case of Salim- Javed.
Explaining the need for consent of the authors for using the screenplay for a film remake is besides the point, Datta said that across the world such norms are followed. "It is unfortunate that the film industry in India has ignored the same and for long.
But in our opinion it is a fit case that the duo is contesting for one of their most popular screenplays. They are right in saying that not only their consent should be taken for remaking a film based on their screenplay as apart from.
Copyright ownership, the authors also retained moral rights on the screenplay, but they should also be consulted on their royalties, which otherwise if their creative rights were protected-would anyway come to them," added Datta. When contacted, Amit Mehra refused to comment
