Fardeen Khan to make a come back
We now hear Fardeen's dreams of re-making his father's most famous film 'Qurbani' would soon come to fruition. But only after a mammoth financial problem facing Fardeen is resolved.
It has been unearthed that the coolest and oldest cowboy of filmdom Feroz Khan has left behind tax arrears worth multi-crores of rupees over his property and business in Bangalore, a gigantic financial liability that Fardeen gradually discovered as he tried to take stock of his father's business empire after the senior Khan's death in 2009. The matter, we now hear, is in court.
And according to a sourc known to the Khan family, "Until the matter of the tax arrears pending over Feroz Khan's empire in Bangalore are cleared, there is nothing that Fardeen can do to carry forward his dad's business empire." When contacted the ever-polite and soft spoken Fardeen who has lately put on some unwanted weight admitted, "Yes, we have encountered some tax arrears in Bangalore.
I wouldn't call them a liability..
. every business venture goes through areas of financial difficulty.
The important thing is we are about to solve the problem. And then in March we'd be ready to announce our real-estate venture with Godrej.
" Regarding the tax arrears in Bangalore Fardeen says, "The matter is now gone into 'appeals'. We've very able lawyers and extremely capable legal advisors to take care of the matter.
We hope that we will soon be out of this problem." Fardeen in the meanwhile prepares to do the long-delayed remake of his father's most popular hit 'Qurbani'.
Says the excited star-son, "We've just cracked the script finally. Sanjay Dutt and I have shaken hands over the project.
He plays Amjad Khan's role. The rest of the cast will be locked in soon.
" Fardeen also gets ready to face the camera this year for the sequel to Anees Bazmi's 'No Entry' where he has a double role. He is aware he needs to lose weight.
"I am not blind to the excess baggage that I'm carrying around. All that will soon have to go.
I'm working on it. Yes, I've had problems.
Who doesn't? The important thing is to cope with the problems to the best of one's ability."

(less)I thank God for all success, says Aamir Khan
"I am humbled that you all are here to wish me. My day starts with you, with your good wishes," said an overwhelmed Aamir.
He also cut a cake. "I would thank God who has given me all the success and happiness that god has showered on me in my personal life.
We were recently blessed with a kid named Azad so I am thankful to god," said the actor, dressed casually in shorts and a T-shirt. Hours before Aamir Khan turned 47 came the big news break last night.
Talaash , his psychological thriller due to release in June, has been postponed. Today, Aamir apologised to his fans for the delay.
" Talaash is very close to my heart. Earlier, we were trying to release it in January.
Then we announced it for June. Now, the date has been pushed to either November 30 or December 7.
I am sorry for this, I know my fans are waiting for Talaash ," he said. Pics: How Aamir spent his birthday "Reason behind this is the show I was doing.
The set caught fire and the entire set was destroyed. So, the show got delayed a bit.
So, I am focusing on the show, which is impacting the release date of Talaash," he added. Aamir Khan is one of the producers of the film; the others are Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar.
Talaash , directed by Reema Kagti, also stars Kareena Kapoor and Rani Mukherji. Ostensibly, the release date has been postponed keeping in mind Aamir Khan's debut on TV, also slated for June.
"Right now my life revolves around the show. My team and me are trying to do something different.
I have been working on this show for last two years. This is my life's ambitious project," Aamir said.
"I am very excited about my television debut. Usually today's day (birthday) I spend with my family, but today I will be leaving for the shooting of my television show," he added.
Given the extensive and innovative promotions which Aamir undertakes for each of his films, the reason to shift dates is credible. Or is it? Dig a little deeper.
On the other side, old rival Shah Rukh Khan is neck-deep in filming his big Diwali release - the untitled Yash Raj film with Katrina Kaif. If their first-time together on screen isn't big enough, this one is surely the clincher - master director Yash Chopra returns to direct SRK after eight years.
Their last film together was Veer-Zaara , with Preity Zinta in the female lead role. With Diwali on November 13, SRK's film will release roughly two weeks before Talaash .
Like ghost of Diwali past, when a similar situation was played out in 2008. That year Aamir's Ghajini outpaced SRK's Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi .
While Ghajini became a huge blockbuster, Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi , though a blockbuster, didn't inspire haircuts and chiseled bodies. Many said at the time that smart promotions are what worked in Ghajini 's favour - including movie theatre staff sporting Aamir's signature cut from the film.
Pics: Aamir Khan turns 47 Will 2012 see yet another slickly-promoted Aamir Khan film hog the limelight and the box-office and the awards (though Aamir steadfastly shuns them)? We'll know in a few months. Till then, there are huge numbers of his fans counting down the days.
Aamir Khan fans are going ballistic on Facebook and Twitter. "1st reaction to Talaash delay news - "Shit Happens!" :x, says a tweet.
"TV killed the movie star," says another. Others say SRK will be upstaged (we can't use the real word here, so think of the extreme form) by Aamir and Aamir by Salman's Dabanng 2 ! Clearly, fans are watching the moves of the biggest Khans of the industry! Meanwhile, with each passing year, Aamir looks younger and says that it is all because of his parents' genes.
"There is no secret behind this. I would only thank my 'ami' and 'abbajaan' who has given me these genes.
Whatever we are, it is given by our parents. I try to live a healthy life," he said.

At this point, Mr Sharma says, Saif struck. But the actor says that's not the case.
He claims he was hit first and so he acted in self defence. He adds that Mr Sharma was rude to the women at his table and that when he intervened, Mr Sharma threw the first punch.
"I acted in self-defence. I was hit.

I've got hit on the eye," he said in a press conference on Wednesday evening. Earlier, in a press statement released just after he got bail, Saif said, "I don't think any gentleman would have behaved differently.
The CCTV footage in the restaurant will prove everything." In his complaint, the actor has also alleged that his eye got swollen after he was punched and that Bilal Amrohi and Shakeel Ladak too have got bruises on their chest.
Police say they will study Saif's application and then decide if it's a cognizable offence. So far, they insist, they haven't given a clean chit to either the actor or Mr Sharma.
"We are studying the restaurant's CCTV footage. The security cameras at the staircase of the restaurant where the incident occurred did not capture the fight," a senior police official said, adding that statements of actresses Kareena Kapoor and Amrita Arora will now be recorded.
