(less)Abhishek Bachchan is Veera in RAAVAN, resembles Kobad Ghandy!!
It is due for release this year itself. Abhishek Bachchan, the handsome hunk of bollywood who plays lead in Mani Ratnam?s upcoming ambitious flick ?Raavan? opposite Aishwarya Rai, will be seen playing the character of a Naxalite leader Veera, which resembles closely with arrested Maoist leader Kobad Ghandy.
Abhishek Bachchan?s character Veera is the leader of landless poor people residing in a remote village of eastern Madhya Pradesh. In the film, Abhishek Bachchan stands against the powerful landowners lobby which has been the traditional enemy of the Maoist groups in India spread over the areas of MP, Chhattisgarh, Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Jharkhand and Orissa.
Mani Ratnam cleverly mixes this contemporary storyline with the mythological story of Ramayana and bases his flick ?Raavan? on this script. Sources close to production house reveal that only difference between Kobad Ghandy and Abhishek Bachchan?s character Veera is that while former is well educated and articulate; Veera would be uneducated representing the oppressed majority of the rural population.
Vikram, the Tamil superstar, plays the character Ram in Hindi version. Abhishek Bachchan and Mani Ratnam have a great working chemistry developed over the years while working in films like ?Guru? (with Aishwarya Rai), ?Yuva? (with Rani Mukerji).
This comfort level between the actor and director has made the working in ?Raavan? a pleasure for both and resulted in a very good final product. The movie also stars Govinda, Ravi Kishen, Priyamani and Ranjeetha in pivotal roles.
The movie is almost complete and undergoing post production. It is due for release this year itself.

Amisha is also filing for a probate of the will.As regards to the purported gift deed relied upon by Amisha’s uncles, no document has been produced despite her uncles having been called upon to do so.

At least Rs 350 crore is riding on these summer releases," he said. The first look of Raavan has already created a buzz and the film's music will be launched in Mumbai tomorrow.
Abhishek and Aishwarya will be seen together in a movie after three years. Their last film with Mani Ratnam was Guru and soon after the release the two actors were engaged to get married.
In Raavan , Abhishek will be seen in a negative role while Aishwarya has been paired opposite Tamil superstar Vikram. It was speculated that Abhishek plays the character of the Naxalite leader Kobad Gandy but the actor refuted it on his micro blogging account Twitter.
In Prakash Jha's Raajneeti a lot has been said about Katrina Kaif's character of a widow who takes a plunge into politics and that it was inspired from UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi. But, its director said there was nothing in common between the two, except they both looked beautiful in a saree.
Jha has planned rallies across seven cities where the cast and crew will travel to colleges for a discussion on current issues and subjects with relevance to the youth. "We would ask the students why aren't the educated youth coming forth to actively participate in politics? Why isn't it considered a career choice," he said.

(less)RAAVAN is Abhishek Bachchan Beera nickname given by sister!!
The premiere of the film is scheduled on June 16 in London. Abhishek Bachchan?s character in Mani Ratnam?s latest flick ?Raavan? is actually known as Beera, who is a dalit leader, but due to some similarity with demon King ?Raavan? in his habits and temperament, Abhishek Bachchan?s sister in the film gives him the nickname of ?Raavan?.
If at all there is any connectivity with the great Hindu epic ?Ramayana?, then that is only this much. Though the theme of the film may be interpreted in different ways by different people and one of that may be the Ramayana way, but it?s not a modern adaptation of that great book by Mani Rathnam.
In fact, Abhishek Bachchan, who plays the lead opposite his real life wife Aishwarya Rai, insists that the movie had an original storyline, and his character was quite different from anything people were speculating. Even the similarity with Maoist leader Kobad Gandhi was only a matter of coincidence, if there is any at all.
The concept of Beera was an original thought conceived by Mani Ratham and Abhishek Bachchan is very grateful to the director for considering him worthy enough to play that complicated role. The movie has southern star Vikram playing the character of Aishwarya Rai?s husband in the flick.
In the meantime, Mani Ratnam has decided to release the Tamil and Telugu versions of the film in the USA with its Hindi version to reach the maximum possible audience. The movie is due for a worldwide release on June 18.
The premiere of the film is scheduled on June 16 in London.?Raavan? also has Govinda, Ravi Kissen, and Nikhil Dwivedi etc from bollywood playing important roles in the flick.
The movie has already generated hysteria due to presence of hubby-wife pair of Abhishek Bachchan-Aishwarya Rai in it. Earlier, they had worked together with Mani Rathnam in ?Guru? and the flick was super hit at the box office.
