I want Madhubala's films, Madhuri's talent: Dia
..
these are among the most iconic women I can think of in Bollywood," Dia said here while unveiling the top 10 iconic bestsellers of a beauty brand. If Dia was to grab one aspect of each of their lives, what would that be? "It has to be Madhubala's films, Madhuri's talent! Manisha was one of the few naturally beautiful actresses when she came into the industry, and Aishwarya, I admire for everything.
..
just for the fact that she is truly a global ambassador of India," she added. Looking princess-like in a simple, peach-coloured dress, Dia was asked her beauty secret.
"I think beauty is in one's character," she said. The former Miss Asia Pacific started her Bollywood career with Rehna Hai Tere Dil Mein in 2001, following which she has featured in over 30 titles so far.
Last year she turned producer with Love Breakups Zindagi , which was her last film as an actor as well. As of now, she is enjoying the relaxed pace of her work.
"You arrive at a stage in life when you want peace, you don't want to rush after things..
. so it's just that for me.
It's time to reinvent myself, do new things, move forward and widen my horizons," she said. Dia is reportedly set to tie the knot with her beau, director Sahil Sangha, this year.

(less)Katrina: Just like Madhubala!
Katrina to do a Madhubala
Katrina was finalised for the project after she opted out of Basu’s other film, Silence, in which she was to co-star with Priyanka Chopra and Ranbir Kapoor. A source says, “Katrina couldn’t do two back-to-back projects with Anurag Basu and Ranbir Kapoor.
So she picked the biopic on Kishore Kumar in which she will play Madhubala.” While she was considering her option back then, Katrina had said, “If I do another film with Ranbir, I’d want it to be a full-fledged commercial love story.
” And it can’t get any more mainstream and romantic than the Kishore Kumar-Madhubala saga. In fact, the actress has already begun doing her homework for the role and watched Mughal-e-Azam, Mahal and Chalti Ka Naam Gaadi.
While Katrina chose not to reply, Anurag says guardedly, “I think it’s a little early to talk about it. I still haven’t got the principal cast of my current project, Silence, in place.
But yes, Katrina is someone I am very, very fond of..
.for her looks, talent and nature.
I am definitely working with her, if not in Silence, then in my next film.” One of the song sequences from Chalti Ka Naam Gaadi that Anurag Basu’s film will be looking to recreate is the Kishore-Madhubala song Ek ladki bheegi bhaagi si.

(less)Katrina's tribute to Madhubala
Katz will be reprising the role of one of the most beautiful actresses on Indian screen – the ethereal Madhubala. And no, we are not talking about the biographical film on Kishore Kumar to be directed by Anurag Basu, where apparently Katrina Kaif is being considered to play the role of the legendary singer's wife, Madhubala.
While there is still some time before that happens, Katrina has already gone ahead and revived the magic of Madhubala in her upcoming film Mere Brother Ki Dulhan . Perhaps because no actress, in her good senses, can think of playing Madhubala, Katrina Kaif has attempted to do that in an intoxicated state.
That's exactly how the scene happens in the film. Sources associated with the film claim that, in the scene, Katrina downs some bhang at a roadside dhaba where she sees a poster of the yesteryear actress.
And after that she breaks into a song and dance number which is a tribute to Madhubala. From Sheila to Madhubala, must say Katrina Kaif has quite a diverse range in her dance numbers.
Perhaps Anurag Basu might not need to do a look test on Katrina Kaif as Madhubala, after seeing this song

(less)Vidya to play Madhubala?
. now Madhuri Dixit has often been compared to Madhubala , so obviously we were a little surprised to hear this.
Apparently, the Parineeta-actress Vidya Balan was recently approached to play Madhubala. The actress hasn't made up her mind yet.
But if she does take up this role, then this will be the second time Vidya will be playing a real-life character. The actress is playing Sabrina Lall (Jessica Lall's sister) in her next.
Now that's taking the term 'get real' a bit too seriously, isn't it?
(less)Is Katrina playing Madhubala?
And now it seems that Katrina might play Madhubala, Kishore Kumar's wife and frequent co-star. After 'Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani', this will be the second movie where Katrina and Ranbir are paired up romantically (She plays his sister-in-law in 'Rajneeti' which releases in May).
'? So do you think Katrina would make a convincing Madhubala? In this photograph, she looks the part. Who else could've played Madhubala convincingly? Well, it's always been thought that Madhuri Dixit resembles the gorgeous actress from the 50s.
But with Mads pretty much out of Bollywood, we guess Katrina might be the next best person to be part of the picture. ?? We might just see Katrina Kaif and Ranbir Kapoor recreate one of Bollywood's legendary real-life love stories.

(less)Kangana is part Madhubala
"In real life Haji was a big fan of Madhubala-ji and he fell in love with Sona who looked like her. So my character is a cross between the two," Kangana said.
"The character I am playing has some similarities with Madhubala-ji..
.like the way she was a superstar and had problems in life.
..
," she added. Talking about her character Rehana in the film, Kangana said: "Rehana is a very big star.
..
she is the woman who evokes desire in everyone and then she falls in love with this gangster and discovers a new world. My character transforms from a star to a woman.
" Her character might be similar to that of Madhubala but Kangana was inspired by other yesteryears heroines too for the role. "I observed 70's actresses like Zeenat Aman and Parveen Babi.
..
they were the rebels who wore bikinis and were style icons. My character is somehow like them," said Kangana.
Set primarily in the 1970s Mumbai, the film by Milan Luthria will trace the changing face of the underworld through the eyes of a police officer. The story follows the rise of Sultan (Ajay Devgn), and his eventual fall when his protege Shoaib (Emraan Hashmi) challenges his supremacy and usurps power to rule the underworld in the city.
On her personal life, Kangana is candid and says she doesn't care what people think of her. And being a Bollywood diva is not really her cup of tea.
"I really don't care what people think of me and how they perceive me. That is okay with me because I don't make an extra effort to be friendly to people.
I do things I like doing," Kangana said
(less)Katrina Kaif is Ranbir's Madhubala
He hopes to bring the Madhubala-Kishore romance to the screen. And playing Kishore is the suave Ranbir Kapoor! Katrina-Ranbir created magic in their first film Ajab Prem Ki Gajab Kahani.
Their Jodi was a hit was audiences. The two were supposed to star in Anurag's Silence until Priyanka Chopra stepped in.
Reportedly Katz didn't want to share the frame or Ranbir for that matter with Priyanka, so she opted out. Anurag however was keen to work with her and has cast her as the legendary actress.
Madhubala is regarded as one the most beautiful and talented actresses of India. She has been immortalized by her performance as the doomed courtesan in Mughal-e-Azam.
She has also done films like Mahal, Howrah Bridge and Sharabi. Her most memorable role has been in Chalti Ka Naam Gaadi with Kishore Kumar.
Katrina, will her angelic looks will reprise the iconic star on screen. She has already begun her homework by watching Madhubala's films.
As for Kishore, the dashing Ranbir too is preparing to do justice to the role. A source told us that the famous number Ek ladki bheegi bhaagi si from Chalti Ka Naam Gaadi will be recreated in Anurag's film.
After Rajneeti, the Ranbir, -Katrina Jodi will appear in a retro Kishore-Madhubala avtar. The 25-year-old actress feels that it was her destiny that she came into the Hindi film industry and succeeded.
She has many people to thank for her soaring career here. "There are too many people whom I can call my godfather.
I am grateful and indebted to them. Even Akshay Kumar took a risk in working with me initially, " she said.
"He did not know me at all. He was at crossroads of his career.
When he did Namastey London, people thought he had gone insane. Nobody is going to damage or destroy himself to help somebody else.
Salman and Akshay believed in me and that is my good fortune and destiny. Apart from guiding me, Salman had confidence in me.
He is not the person to say that because he is friendly with you. He will say it genuinely" Katrina added
(less)Bal Thackerays smitten by Madhubala!
The Tiger was in his element as he rose to the occasion and blessed his grandson and the young team of his film Raada Rox, Rahul's directorial debut in Marathi cinema. It was a pleasant sight to watch the Sena supremo joke, laugh and share anecdotes from his youthful days with a bemused audience, when he worked as a production assistant in the film industry.
"On one occasion while I was busy with my work, Madhubala happened to pass by me. I was dumbstruck and stared at her like a zombie.
That one incident made my day and my work as an assistant worthwhile," recalled the old man of Sena politics, amidst huge cheers and hoots. Balasaheb also gave some cinematic tips to his young grandson and asked him to focus on good editing, meaningful and witty visuals and most importantly audiences' interest.
He also took the opportunity to take a jibe at youngsters' fashion sense, mostly emphasising on the 'long locks' look sported by guys today. The team later shifted to a suburban lounge for the music launch which was graced by Bollywood diva Madhuri Dixit.
If Balasaheb was a Madhubala fan, grandson Rahul grew up idolising the dhak dhak girl. He says about his idol.
"I have always admired her sophistication and her attention to detail in her art. So, naturally I was struck when I first met her but the fact that she graced the function that begins my career was a dream come true.
She's a legend and who wouldn't want to cast her?" admitted a smiling Rahul
