Dad's goodwill gave me a head start: Mammootty's son
I know very well now that I will have to work hard because that is the only thing that will keep going forward," Salman told IANS. A graduate from the US, Salman has been busy managing his father's money matters before entering acting business.
He is currently shooting for his second film, Ustad Hotel . "I was getting a few offers and I took the plunge after a lot of thinking.
I felt if I should try my luck, so later I do not have any regrets. I am extremely happy that I decided to act as lots of offers are coming my way.
I have decided to be in this profession," said Salman. When asked whether his father has seen his debut film, he replied in the affirmative, adding: "Normally my father doesn't say much.
" This is true as the superstar has refused to comment on his son's film! "My biggest advantage is that if I have doubts, I have my father to fall back on. And while working on my debut film, I sought his advice," said Salman who would love to work with his dad, but added: "Don't you think that I have to earn that and for that I have to put in real hard work.
" The actor, who got married to A Sufia last December, said about his wife: "Language is a barrier for her but half the problem is sorted out because she lives in my home and my parents like her a lot. We have now learned to adjust to the fact that we can't be spending a lot of time together because of my acting commitments.

SRK, Akshay Kumar to buy the rights of Kolaveri Di?
Says a source, "Kolaveri D is an extremely popular song and played across almost every corner of India. Apparently Akshay and Shah Rukh were both very keen to get the rights.
Akshay was so keen that he even landed up at Rajnikanth's Chennai home and obtained the rights - thus beating King Khan to it!" However a source close to Akshay rubbishes the rumors, "Though he loves the song, Akshay is not interested in the rights of Kolaveri D. He never has been.
So the question of him beating Shah Rukh to the rights doesn't even arise. The only song rights that Akshay has bought is the rights of the Tamil song Appadi Podu from the film Ghilli.
" Apparently Sonu Sood owned the rights of the song Appadi Podu and had wanted to use in his upcoming film, but Akshay convinced the Sonu to let him get the rights to use the song in his film Naam Hai Boss. According to reports Sonu had got the rights from the music company but Akshay made a special request to him.
Naam Hai Boss is the remake of Malayalam film Pokkiri Raja starring Mammootty and Prithviraj in the lead roles. NHB will be directed by Anthony D'Souza
(less)Comedian Jagathy Sreekumar to undergo surgery
He is said to be out of danger. "There are procedures to be followed when a patient has to be taken off the ventilator and step by step we are reaching that position.
If things are fine, he should be able to breathe on his own," Dr P.P.
Venugopal told reporters. Jagathy was seriously injured in the early hours of Saturday near the Kozhikode University campus when his Innova car hit a divider.

(less)Mammootty, Mohanlal to settle IT dues
They have also added that they will carry out their audits properly in the future and keep a close eye on monitoring their revenues. Earlier, some reports said the IT department had acted on a confidential tip from certain agencies on the business modules worked out by the superstars in the Middle East for satellite rights.
However, the authorities did not have enough evidence to substantiate that claim at the time. While actor Mohanlal's residence in Mudavanmugal, Thiruvananthapuram and in Thevara, Kochi, was raided, Mammootty's house in Panampally Nagar, Kochi, was raided by the IT department.
Mammootty's production company Play House and Mohanlal's Studio Max Labs too, were raided alongwith the homes of their close aides. The actors had been boasting of properties in and out the country, and this was also a factor that prompted the authorities to look into their monetary affairs closely.
Actor Mohanlal has been claiming to have flats in the Burj Khaleefa, Dubai, while Mammootty is said to have announced his multiple investments in various properties including a hospital in Bangaluru besides real estate investments inside and outside Kerala. Earlier, Income Tax officials had questioned Mammootty in Kochi for nearly seven hours on July 22nd.
The officials had also recorded Mohanlal's statement in Rameshwaram, where he was shooting for a film at the time. The I-T Department had said then that the actors may be summoned for further questioning ahead.
The two superstars, who have dominated the Malayalam film industry for over three decades, have several business interests. In a career spanning more than three decades, Mammootty has won the National Award thrice, for Dr.
Ambedkar (1988), Oru Vadakkan Veeragatha , Mathilukal (1989) and Vidheyan , Ponthan Mada (1993). He has acted in more than 360 films, including a few Tamil, Telugu and Hindi films.
While Mohanlal was reportedly planning to bid for an IPL team with director Priyadarshan and owns some hotels in Bangaluru, he had recently reportedly purchased a plush house in the world's tallest tower, Burj Khalifa, in Dubai. He was awarded the Padma Shri for his contribution to Indian cinema in 2001.
He has won four National Film Awards and his notable roles include those in Vaanaprastham and Bharatham . Tweet
