Directed by debutant Rohit Kaushik, Chehre , will mark the return of the just-married Manisha Koirala. Sharing screen space with her will be Divya Dutta, who recently won the award for Best Supporting Actress for her portrayal in Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra’s Delhi 6 .
Apparently, her look is inspired by the Tragedy Queen Meena Kumari. Dutta admits to certain similarities and says she grew up watching actresses like Madhubala and Meena Kumari among others.
“I wish I had been born in that era. I love their hairstyles and the kohl in their eyes,” she smiles.
Clearly pleased with her ’50s look, the actress says that the monochromatic shades made her look “prettier” and “exclusive”. “ I thought to myself ‘Wow! I look beautiful!’” she laughs.
A huge fan of Meena Kumari, Dutta admits that even if she tried, she would never be able to match up to this stunning woman and great actress who added her special touch to every role she played. Chehre revolves around two sisters who are also actors.
When asked if her character is anything like the real Dutta, the actress says, “No way! She is positive but also insecure like many actors and the film is about the games she plays. I’m nothing like her.

Divya Dutta, said: ?I am very excited about this movie. I have been a huge fan of stalwarts like Meena Kumari Ji and Nutan Ji.
Playing a character based in 50's for a black and white movie was like stepping into their shoes. ?But I am glad that directors are coming up with innovative ideas and interesting subjects these days and are ready to experiment with the look of the film, as per the demands of script.
When I heard that the film was not in colour and Black & White Instead, I was taken aback, but I immediately said yes as I knew it was one of its kind film.? The film is also a comeback for Manisha Koirala who is in a pivotal role in the film, playing one of the sisters along with Divya.
Now we will have to wait and watch whether in this commercialized world of global cinema, such an experiment will be worth to lure audience or not
