The film that endeavours to "push the envelope on the erotic thriller and make it acceptable" in India, has already run into trouble with the Censor Board over the explicit dialogues mouthed by the lead actor, Paoli Dam . However, Gulshan confesses he has no regrets about being a part of the project.

"I am not embarrassed now nor will I be a decade down the line about doing this film," he says, adding, "If someone had asked me two years ago whether I would consider doing such a film, I would have said no. But I wanted to push my boundaries in the acting sphere, and when I heard the story, I agreed to do it immediately.

" Interestingly, even before the film's release, the actor has already gathered a circle of detractors, his friends who doubt his decision about being part of the erotic thriller. "Some people do see it as a mistake, but I don't think so," says Gulshan.

The actor, who has also shot some steamy bedroom scenes for the film, says the idea was to make them look real. "There are some scenes with Paoli in which we are making love and we went all out to make them look as authentic as possible," he says.

So, did he also pose in the buff like his co-star Paoli, whose frontal nude scenes in the film are grabbing a lot of eyeballs? "Well, I wouldn't say yes or no. I'm not part of a porn film.

But there is a lot of physical contact, all within the boundaries of acting. After all, there is more to the film than profanity and sexual content," says Gulshan.

Does his wife have any issues with the bedroom scenes? "No, she is a theatre actor and she knows everything about the film. She has complete trust in me," he asserts.

While Paoli seems to be the top billing of this film, Gulshan reveals he has no qualms about playing second fiddle. "The film obviously belongs to her.

I am OK with that and I am not worried about being overshadowed," he says. The new baddie in B-town, reveals it's fun to be a grey guy.

And those who say they don't are lying. Come on, don't we all get bored with our jobs and seek distractions? When I lose focus while directing shots, I also look at my phone for diversion and stimulation, and not just to make calls.

" He even asked this reporter, "When you get tired of writing stories don't you surf porn sites?" Stating that he will incorporate this episode in his film on the 26/11 attacks in Mumbai, RGV added, "I just love the whole irony of it. According to me the incident shows that our politicians are human, and not just corrupt.

" The director added that the scandal is indicative of an India finally growing up, and instead of vilifying the porn industry, steps should be taken to legalise it. "Let's not make such a hue and cry about porn.

It's all-pervasive. When we say, 'Let's protect children from porn' we are just being stupid.

Children neither understand nor get aroused by porn. They should instead be protected from violence and abuse.

And for that a more legitimate moral sanctioning of pornography is needed. Once we legalise porn, there will be less depravity and unnatural crime against children and women.
