Prabhu Deva goes the Rajini way?
Buzz is that the film's subject is inspired by Rajinikanth's evergreen superhit Baasha , where he played an autowallah and don. While Ajay has two film commitments this year, the dancing sensation is showing off his moves in choreographer Remo D'Souza's debut venture Any Body Can Dance (ABCS).
Their combination is slated to take off once the duo is done with their current projects. It is also understood that Ajay Devgn is working on a specially-toned body for one of the roles in the flick, which is said to be similar to the portions in which Rajinikanth plays the don, Baasha .
So, will this be as effective as the Superstar act? Can Prabhu Deva get Ajay to essay the role as stylishly? Cricket Fan The director seems to be having a blast in Mumbai. He was seen enjoying a cricket match with his kids a few days back and in fact, thanked his heroine Sonakshi Sinha for taking them to the match.
Ask him about this and he says, "Yes, my kids are with me as it's their vacation time. We went to the match and it's actually the first time I went to watch a cricket match in the stadium!" When we contacted Prabhu Deva, he said, "Yes, I will be doing a film with Ajay Devgn.
But, it's too early to talk about it."
(less)Akshay Kumar turns Prabhu Deva into Alfred Hitchcock!
Prabhu Deva will now be seen shaking a leg in the title song of the film, along with Akshay Kumar. Apparently, even Akshay Kumar who is as fit as a fiddle, and known for his dancing feet had a tough time executing the steps choreographed by Prabhu Deva.
After much practice, the actor got it right. Apparently, Salman, too, faced some hard time getting Prabhu Deva's steps right in 'Wanted'.
Anyway, with the director didn't want to make an appearance in his own film, until he was forced to by Akshay Kumar, and if he's happy with the job, he may just doff that hat once in a while in his future endeavours
(less)I can fall in love anytime: Prabhu Deva
He has ABCD - Anybody Can Dance by Remo D'Souza in his kitty. "Though the films based on dance have failed to do well in the country, I wanted to be a part of this because the dance sequences are really good in the film," says the ace dancer.
He wants to act and direct simultaneously but he won't star in his own directorial ventures. "I am not even comfortable choreographing for my own films.
There are other people who can conceptualise the dance sequence. I do not mind giving inputs as a director but I will not interfere in a choreographer's business and tax my brain for no reason," he adds.
While on the professional front, he is quite busy, personally things aren't going too well for him. After breaking up with longtime girlfriend, Nayanthara , Prabhu claims that he is "dating only films at the moment".
Will he start dating soon, we ask on a serious note. "It can happen anytime from now.
Life is unpredictable and I can fall in love any time," he quips. His upcoming film reminds one of other action films like Wanted, Dabangg.
"Now that Salman has sported a moustache as Chulbul Pandey in Dabbang, does it restrict others from flaunting it? Appearances do not have a copyright," he says. Why isn't he working with Salman next? "I can't be doing all my films with Salman," he says.
For his Bollywood directorial ventures, will he stick to remakes only? "I am ready for everything. If original films leave enough for you to explore, remakes have a pressure of recreating the magic," he says
(less)Didn’t want Sonakshi to expose in my film: Prabhu Deva
According to his own admission, his visits to B-town, that were earlier few and far between, have now become more frequent. Mirror caught up with the man who is being billed as the newest hit maker in Bollywood.
We ask whether things have changed for Prabhudheva after the success of Wanted and he says, "I am happy I have received a very good response. Earlier, people would view me only as a choreographer.
They now look up to me as director. There is a marked difference.
Earlier, I would come down for just four or five days. I am now having longer meetings and with many more people.
" With so many films on hand, does he plan to shift base to Mumbai? "I will be available here but there are no plans for shifting as of now. I am going to do a film for Eros and one for Tips," he says.
We think he may have been instrumental in reviving the action genre in tinsel town, more so with Wanted? Prabhudheva chooses to be modest saying, "I am a very small part of this revival. Every one out of hundred people are working on this genre.
And while it's a good space to be, other genres like love, romance, comedy etc. are also good.
" Nudged whether any allowances were made for Sonakshi Sinha, who apparently had a lot of reservations with exposure during the making of Rowdy Rathore, Prabhudheva is quick to reply, "Not at all. When you see the film, you will realise.
In fact, we too were very happy because even we didn't want to expose. Both she and Akshay Kumar were tailor-made for the role.
" So what made him turn to direction with such a successful stint as choreographer to his credit? "I love to do creative work and there is more creativity involved in being a director," he says. But will he continue as choreographer after belting out hit action flicks? "I will do both depending on the availability of dates and comfort levels," he replies.
Quizzed about his experience of working with Sanjay Leela Bhansali, he says, "His biggest input is the title Rowdy that he has given. Otherwise he never interfered.
He only came for the mahurat for half an hour. As a producer, he is superb.

First look of 'Rowdy Rathore' unveiled at chawl
Several locals gathered to catch glimpse of the star cast and the crowd visibly went crazy for Prabhu Deva more than Akshay Kumar. On public demand, the choreographer-turned-director even shook his leg on one of the songs from the film.
"I am happy and tensed about this event," director Prabhu Deva said. Sporting a moustache, Akshay, wearing a blue jeans with same color denims and a shirt, looked to be in the character of Vikram Rathore from the film.
"We are extremely happy to launch our first look among you all. The film has action, comedy, dance.
..
everything," Akshay Kumar said. Interestingly, the trailer of the film had earlier been leaked online.
Leading lady Sonakshi Sinha , who had thanked her fans on twitter for liking the first look of the film even before it was launched officially, said, "I know it is wrong to do it (leak the look). But what can I do if people see and like it.
But I am happy that people have liked it." The film produced by Sanjay Leela Bhansali and UTV Motion Pictures, is up for release on June 1
(less)ABCD is India’s answer to Step Up: Remo
"ABCD, Anybody can dance is India's answer to Hollywood film Step Up . We haven't made dance films and it feels great to be able to do that.
I have Prabhu Deva who is class apart when it comes to dancing. Hopefully our film will be as good" said Remo.
ABCD is currently being shot. Prabhu Deva took around a week to get back to dancing as he has been donning the director's hat off late.
Rowdy Rathore is Prabu's forthcoming film as a director which stars Akhay Kumar in the lead
(less)Akshay and Sonakshi to romance again?
We are still hunting for locations. There are other options as well.
We might decide to shoot parts of the song in Alleppey and parts of it elsewhere too." If confirmed, the cast and crew will be in Kerala for a two-day shoot by April end.
"Alleppey is such a beautiful place. Against the backdrop of the backwaters, it's definitely any director's favourite place to shoot a romantic song," points out Prabhu, adding, "It has been close to 10 years since I shot at Alleppey.
The last time I was there was for a Tamil film I was acting in." The romantic number features the lead pair, Akshay Kumar and Sonakshi Sinha .
Surprisingly, Prabhu Deva won't be choreographing the sequence. "Vishnu is the choreographer for this song.
Though I do choreograph for my movies, I decided to concentrate only on direction this time." Rowdy Rathore is currently in its post-production stage and is scheduled for a June release.
"We have completed most of the shoot expect for this one song. Songs are easy to shoot and that was why we let it be till the end.
There are no changes in the original script (Telugu film Vikramarkudu). So it's not like the song is a last minute addition," explains Prabhu
(less)Censor beeps dialogue in 'Rowdy Rathore' trailer
We are happy to make that cut. We have decided to proceed with a beep in the film," Shikha Kapur, senior vice president (Marketing), UTV Motion Pictures, told IANS.
"I don't think a U/A certificate will make any difference. It's an action film and it is absolutely justified," she added.
The actioner's trailer was released Monday and the film's co-producer Shabina Khan said: "I am not sure whether this cut will be in the film or not as it depends on what censor certificate we want for the film." Directed by Prabhu Deva , the film features Sonakshi Sinha as the female lead and is scheduled for a June 1 release
