Srijit Mukherjee facing camera in Anjan's next film
"Anjan da is my mentor who has helped me evolve into a director. I greatly learnt the craft from him before moving to film direction," said Srijit.
Srijit, who was speaking on location at a dingy north Kolkata neighbourhood last week, said his character is the reflection of an intellectual of 1970s as the film sought to recapture the spirit of Kolkata in those era. "My character basically sustains itself on poem and music of those days and it is a reflection of that phase," he said.
Srijit has finished his next venture Hemlock Society which deals with an institution where people are given suicide tips. "It is a dark comedy with a romantic overtone," he said.

(less)Deepika, Ranbir's intimate scenes may rekindle romance
A source informs us that both actors are well aware of the intimate scenes they are required to do, and are mentally prepared to perform these. Director Ayan Mukherjee, apparently, is taking all off-screen efforts to ensure that their on-screen chemistry is applauded.
Also, neither Deepika and Ranbir have any qualms about this physical proximity. "They are professionals and should be able to handle it quite easily," we are told.
One wonders if the time spent together on the sets coupled with these love scenes will rekindle their past romance. With Ayan Mukherjee making sure that everything goes right with this one, let's not be surprised if this reel story becomes a real one.
After all, yeh jawaani hai deewani !
(less)Vidya Balan drops by to meet designer Sabyasachi
One such friend is designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee . Vidya surprised him and also the bride-to-be who was taking cues from this designer on the show sets.
This week, the episode will be shown where Aditi Charkavarthy, a modern day Bengali with not an inkling of the Bengali way of weddings will express her joy on meeting Vidya. Sabyasachi himself grabs the opportunity to return to his roots and to fashion Aditi at her bong best.
In fact, Vidya herself gives her some makeover tips. Vidya's success as 'Silk Smitha' was widely appreciated and she is now promoting her forthcoming film 'Kahaani'.
Thankfully, she didn't land with a big bump on the show sets. Apart from the TV show, Sabyasachi was also geared to take part in the 'Textile Day' at the upcoming Lakme Fashion Week.
But due to health reason, he pulled out of it. Thus, LFW, which spans from March 2-6, 2012, will be devoid of Sabya's touch this season

(less)No strike now: Bollywood happy with tax exemption
The film industry was planning a nationwide shutdown to protest against central government's decision to levy service tax. The strike was called by the Film Federation of India (FFI).
However, after Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee's decision to exempt it, the industry has no plans to go on strike. "There is no strike happening and I am happy and thankful with this decision.
The film industry should not be burdened with the service tax," Bhatt, vice president of Film Producers' Guild, told IANS. "Exempting the film industry from the service tax is the best gift given by the finance minister.
Had it been included, the entire industry would have been wiped out," he added. However, it was called off till the budget session after the industry officials met Mukherjee.
"I am glad that the goverment has exempted the film indusrty from service tax. It is positve news for the industry.
Had it been imposed, the burden on producers would have increased a lot. I hope in future more and more initiatives are taken to lessen the burden on the industry, specilly on the producers," Behl told IANS.
Sanjeev Lamba, CEO, Reliance Entertainment, also termed the tax exemption a huge positive for the industry. "With no service tax now on transfer of copyright and entertainment becoming a part of the negative list, this is a huge positive for the industry," Lamba said.
"There will however be a negative impact due to the general increase in service tax, excise and custom duties. The determination of bringing GST from August 12, sounds quite optimistic.
It will bring radical and positive changes in the taxation," he added. Tweet

(less)Ranbir-Deepika an item once again?
..
It looks like Ayaan Mukherjee has managed to get ex-couple Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone back on track, and the actors themselves seem to be comfortable with each other. Besides accepting awards from her, the two maintain a dignified approach and have gone on record to say that they are professionals and are looking forward to working with each other.
After the break up with Siddharth Mallya, Deepika is single again. Ranbir, however, we hear is busy patching up with all his exes, including Katrina Kaif.
According to a source, Deepika and Ranbir were spotted together in Los Angeles last week. The duo flew back to India separately.
There's no doubt Ranbir and Deepika are friends again but will this friendship turn in to love again? Only time will tell
