Tejaswini Lonari aka Rani
?I am getting few good offers in films, so for now I?m thinking to grab it. There are ventures on television also, but nothing great has come in my way as I want something bigger or similar to what I did in past (Rani Padmini), ? says Tejaswini.
Further discussing about her career plans, she converse, ?It?s not that I will leave TV and shift my base completely to Bollywood, but I am deciding whether I want to be seen everyday on television or want to do silver screen and be seen on 70mm.? ?I am taking things easy, as right now I am with my family and back to my home enjoying the life that I had missed during the shoot of my show.
I had to stay on the sets, but now I am trying to get out of that and gearing up with my day-to-day routine, ? she concludes. Welcome Tejaswini as you join the bandwagon of the TV actress aspiring to make it big on big screen.
We wish you luck
(less)Ash loves to talk: Tejaswini
She is just as warm as she was earlier, still loves to talk and is extremely helpful. We chatted like our old days.
We spoke about our common friends, colleagues and how fashion has changed over the years as well as the shoots that we had done together,” she adds. Charmed by Ash’s professionalism, Tejaswini could not stop raving about her.
“There was a scene where I had to drag her along with the rest of the people and she had to hold herself back and she performed like a tigress. In order to cope with her, I had to drag her even harder but at the back of my head all I could think of was I hope I don’t hurt her by mistake,” remembers Tejaswini.

But whenever I'm shopping in India, I buy more of the ethnic stuff than western wear. Bandra is my favourite shopping haunt in Mumbai.
You can find the cheapest casuals and the most expensive branded party wear all in one place.?? I always prefer shopping for heels and bags rather than clothes.
I have 60 to 70 pairs of shoes and some 80 bags. Among them, the Dolce & Gabbana shoes that I brought from Dubai are my favourite.
I also have a fetish for jewellery. Delhi's Lajpat Nagar, Khan market and Janpat are my favourite shopping spots for jewellery.
Abroad, nothing can match London and New York when it comes to shopping. Many people prefer Dubai because you can find stuff from London, New York and Dubai all in one place.
But not me. Nothing can compare to the British quality and variety.
The stuff there is very interesting and different. Shopping in London is surely value for money.
My husband isn't much of a shopper.?? When I can shop for hours together without a break, he gets tired in no time at all.
Once we were in London shopping and we almost had a fight and decided to go our own directions. Very often I run out of money while shopping.
So when I pick up stuff that is worth a lot more than what is in my wallet, I request the shopkeepers to give items on credit and I send the money across later. However, understandably this habit of mine is only tolerated in India.
But all said and done, I'm not as much of a shopaholic as I used to be. There was a time when I would have some ten bags in my hand when I left one store and I could finish one whole mall in three hours.
I had this phobia that I would never again visit that mall and would collect whatever I could in my limited time there. I have certainly slowed down now, thank God! Heads over heels When she's shopping, she's like a woman on a mission.
A self-confessed I shopaholic, Tejaswini Kolhapure tells CS what makes her one: I travel a lot so I tend to shop more abroad than in India. But whenever I'm shopping in India, I buy more of the ethnic stuff than western wear.

(less)Tejaswini finds her roots
Tejaswini is very excited to work with national award-winning director Sanjay Surkar. She says, “It’s a great opportunity to work with the man who has directed Saatchya Aat Gharat, Saheli and Ghara Baher.
” Speaking about the film, she says, “Lathi is a family drama set in the 80s and the journey to 10 years from then. I’m playing Sachin Khedekar’s wife.
We both believe in family values which is fast dwindling.”
(less)Mani chops Tejaswini, Sadashiv's role!
She spent 2 gruelling months away from home and husband (filmmaker-actor Pankaj Saraswat) in the jungles shooting for Raavan. The end-result .

one passing shot lasting no more than 5 seconds in a wedding song. Surely, this must rank as the most abbreviated role in the history of Hindi commercial cinema! One of Tejaswini’s co-stars in Raavan says, “At least Tejaswini is visible in one shot in Raavan.
Poor Sadashiv Amrapurkar. At his age he was on location in the jungles for 90 days.
Finally he isn’t in the film for even a shot. And what about poor Sachin Khedekar who is there for one shot as Abhishek’s father? He played Aishwarya’s father in Guru and had his role chopped off because Mani wanted to focus on the Abhishek-Aishwarya story.
” Incidentally Madhavan and Vidya Balan had their roles severely chopped off in Guru. Surprisingly Tejaswini doesn’t try to dodge the savage editing of her part wth sugar-coated words.
When asked about her blink-and-miss role she said, “Mani Sir and his entire team knew what my role was. I shot for a good 75 days .
..
The role in the film is what you saw. Nevertheless it was a treat working with with a director par excellence like Mani Ratnam.
Anyone would give a tooth and nail to work with him. All I had to suffer was some minor bruises and hardships.
It’s crazy to say this after what I’ve gone through. But I’d love to work with him again.
” Tejaswini has been unlucky in career from the start. Her first film as leading lady Anurag Kashyap’s Paanch never got released.
But she’s hopeful about the future. “I’ve finished Happi with Pankaj Kapoorji which Bhavna Talwar has directed.
I’ve also done a short film Salt & Pepper about farmers’ suicides directed by Mohinder Pratap Singh and Shashank Ghosh’s segment in the Mumbai short-films Mumbai Cutting. Ironically in Shashank’s film I play an actress trying to find a foothold in the film industry.
I’m just keeping myself busy doing stage plays until my time arrives. Check out Tejaswini Kolhapuri’s pics

(less)Anurag returns to his first lady
Tejaswini Kolhapure With Paanch failing to have a box-office release, Tejaswini’s career as a lead actress failed to take off as well. Anurag still went on to become a name to reckon with.
Almost a decade later, the director has again roped in Kolhapure for the protagonist’s role, in his next venture. “Before going to the Cannes Film Festival, Anurag told me that it was time we worked together again.
He surprised me when a week after his return he gave me a script to read and told me that he wanted me in the film,” says Tejaswini. “I loved what I read.
Apart from that, I absolutely trust Anurag as a director and will do whatever he offers me!” The actress was last seen in a blink and miss role in Mani Ratnam’s Raavan. “I did shoot for almost 50-60 days, but when I was dubbing I realised it was not the same anymore.
Yes, I was initially disappointed but there is no point digging the past,” said the actress. Talking about the film Anurag says, “It’s a thriller and also features Rahul Bhatt and Ronit Roy.
Rest details are still to be finalised.”
